The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (or North Korea) has been a real-word "psychotic dictatorship" for several decades, now.
What's YN's position on this situation? Did it take action against the Kim Dynasty? Did it befriend them?


Despite Tamriel being a mainly neutral nation, it imposed sanctions on North Korea, publicly expressed dismay and disgust, and organized several operations to save northkoreans from such a terrible situation.

We don't think that the DPRK would exist in our timeline, but if it would, we would disapprove the unaccountability of their government and would try to send some foreign aid through airdropping. The ROK may help us out or get mad on us that we recognize that 'military ultranationalist junta.'

Following partition there was two governments on the Korean peninsula. The French backed government in the north, and the Japanese backed government in the south. Despite being sandwiched between two pro-Japanese powers (Manchuria to the north), the northern Republic of Korea came out on top and following student protests, Korea reunified in 1961.

The Republic of Yugranistan has been against the DPRK ever since its establishment. Despite this, it took no action against the country during the Korean War, nor during any event that involved the Korean Peninsula. The Yugranistani government, however, is planning to impose sanctions on the DPRK, in hopes of increasing the speed of its collapse.

The DPRK is a failed cryptofascist state socialist hellhole with a bellicose and autocratic leadership that constantly goes out of its way to cause international tension and generally make a nuisance of themselves. It is crippled with famine, poverty, and an oppressed populace who are restricted on almost every level of society.

It reminds South Reinkalistanis very much of home, and the two states get on tremendously well.

Note, Eclius is NOT a NATO member), believes that N. Korea must not have nukes and that nations across the world should abide by nuclear non-proliferation act. Meanwhile, Eclius also believes that N. Korea is a good puppet to have in order to keep US on their toes. Overall, Eclius has taken effort to incite violence and unrest in Korean Peninsula in order to force China, Russia and US to focus on the pacific affairs rather than Eclisian development. On the other hand, Eclius has hired top-tier lobbying groups in US and supported hawkish politicians through online media and indirect funding, the goal is to maintain a hostile relationship between North Korea and US. Over-all, Eclius' relationship with N. Korea is not very good since we consider South Korea as a key ally and trading partner, but it's also not as bad as N. Korea-US relation.

The Mutiversal Empire of South Acren has no diplomatic relations with North Korea and refuses to acknowledge its existence. It seems to be vice versa, but they have yet to do anything but stop trade. [TURTLESHROOM II]

A right wing mutation of North Korea's "Juche Idea" is popular enough to have its own political party in TurtleShroom. Called the Shutai Party in TurtleShroom, it emphasizes identical economic values to North Korea without the other strings and totalitarianism attached.

In that specific Korean-cultured region, TurtleShroom recognizes, jointly, South Korea and the Empire of Korea as sharing full sovereignty over the peninsula. Ideally, TS would want to see South Korea restore its monarchy before unification.

TurtleShroom lists North Korea as a Captive Nation, still considering it Marxist in spite of the Juche revisionism phased in this century that removed references to socialism. As such, all defectors of the country, and all religious minorities (especially Christians), are considered refugees to be granted guaranteed asylum. North Korea is a rogue state under TS law.

The Koreans that TurtleShroom are most familiar with, though, were the Sino-Japanese Koreans of the Greater Imperial Japanese Dystopia (not the country's real name, but how NS knows it the most.

The GEIJD maintained its Juche-esque Korean state as its state governor.
The name of the Korean governance at that time was called "People's Korean Delegation to the Greater People's Imperial Revolutionary Huangdiist Akatsuki-Kairoshuu Regime Politburo".

In English and in TS, this mouthful was usually shortened to the "Korean Delegation" or "Korean Governance". Koreans were unified under the GEIJD, which controlled Korea, all of China and all east of it, far eastern Siberia, all of Southeast Asia, the southern coastlines of India, and the easternmost coasts of Africa. Unique to the GEIJD's populist/socialist, totalitarian monarchy, the Koreans were ruled under a republican vassal.

That state, alongside the entire GEIJD, was destroyed during the Coup Kid Rebellion, in which the African and Indian colonies rose up and formed a nomadic, rogue fleet and military presence. The Coup Kid, so TS called him, rose up at the exact same time that the GEIJD was already losing a war with a massive coalition of powers across Nationstates. Being in an economic alliance pact with the country, TS volunteered its call to war and managed to evacuate the People's Comrade-Emperor and his court to the country, where they live in exile. Over the next decade TS would go on to absorb large swaths of the GEIJD population and, coupled with the rescue of the Tsao peoples from genocide, would render its human population to be one-third Oriental.

The Coup Kid would go on to conquer mainland Japan and execute most of the GEIJD officials and rulers. Proclaiming himself the Shogun of a new world order, he failed to administer the country, leading to an immediate collapse of the entire empire and a loss of all contact with Nationstates by the end of that year. With radio silence and an incapability of contacting anything in the country, it is presumed that the billions under GEIJD rule are carved up among vicious, bloodthirsty warlords, former apparatchiks, militia groups, and Shogun Coup Kid's armies and colonial forces themselves.

The Republic of Kovkastan has no formal relations with the DPRK, but recognises the inalienable right of its sovereignty.

Barfleur recognizes the DPRK as the legitimate government of Korea north of the 38th parallel, and the ROK as the legitimate government of Korea south of the 38th parallel. That being said, the national government has not had meaningful relations with any Korean nation since 1910, when the Korean Empire was annexed by Japan.
