It's funny because I'm assuming a whole bunch of character development is probably about to happen which in turn will seem right to the authors because of the real amount of time spent between posts, but IC will seem to be quick because the time between posts. lol

I suppose that's always been a thing with Elementals if you think about it, like Tristan and Lisoette's love story. All of Elementals 2 happened in less than 2 months.
Minroz wrote:Safe to say, to make up for lost time and effort and missed out on things, we can go ahead with characters already got their own character developments. I feel we should discuss this a bit thoroughly.

Also, I greatly apologised for not being active on this great RP. Didn't realised it was moving forward until now. :x

Well, what should I do now, IC-wise? I'm not sure how I can get Aisha and Temu to catch up.

Welcome back! Those two were last seen with Erosen, weren't they? He teleported to the current location, St. Veowulf, in order to catch up with the group who left on a sailing ship. Perhaps Erosen teleported Aisha and Tumujin along with him?

Nothing like being stuck around each other in the wilderness all day every day, and plenty of brushes with death to bring young folks together haha.

You changed your mind about his mood pretty quickly. I did some searching to confirm what I remembered about that time. You introduced him to the IC on December 7th, 2013. On your second post that night you described him as a lighthearted hippy. His first wacky story came just over a week later.

I have replies to Eric and Erosen done. I think I'll post them now, since replying to Tristan and bringing Katya back into the action might take a little bit and I feel bad keeping more folks waiting than I have to.

Name: Ulric Graymane
Sex: M
Age: 46
Appearance:
Image
Element: Lightning
Skills: Ulric is a practitioner of mageforging.
Personality: Your average absent-minded and slightly crazy tinkerer. Ulric has dedicated almost his entire lifetime to his craft, with only some limited social interaction. Diligent and dedicated, his loyalty - if earned - will withstand anything.
Weaknesses: Ulric isn't anything special in terms of physical prowess. After all, he's a craftsman, not a warrior. That being said, at least he still has his creations and - should it be needed - his powers are the perfect crutch for a man that's slowly getting up there in age.
Equipment, if any: A messenger bag of tools, a bag of metal marbels, a thin & hollow metal rod, a magical hat and three manaforged swords.
Bio: Ulric has lived most of his life scraping by, often because of his own tendencies. A skilled craftsman by both nature and nurture, he never did struggle much to earn a living, but found it as effortless to spend his hard-earned money on whimsical expenses and experiments.

Even at a young age, he had a knack for many trades of crafting. Perhaps this had much to do with his lineage, as the Graymanes are direct descendants of the infamous blacksmith, Arlund Graymane, who tended to the great Manaforge.

As was tradition, he eventually learnt the noble art of manaforging from his father and became a true artificer. At the prime of his youth, he forged countless fantastical weapons, crafted numerous magical objects and fashioned the fanciest of capes. He had earned quite some popularity.

Perhaps it was that fame that ultimately drove him away into the countryside, seeking a simpler life amidst simpler people. Out in nature he grew more attuned to his power and realized he had stagnated in the city. He found new ways to use his ability as he practices the noble art of manaforging and contemplated new and outlandish creations that often failed, yet occasionally did not. He quickly became known as "that weird man" and didn't get many opportunities to still use his craft to bring a positive change to people's lives, let alone have a full conversation.

Though fully satisfied with his freedom, Ulric longed for a student to pass his knowledge onto. This longing eventually drove him from his personal slice of heaven and back out into the world, to explore!

Took me a while to notice the Skyrim reference haha. Is manaforging his family's word for their particular style of mageforging?

Looks good to me otherwise. Interesting backstory, and it shouldn't be too hard getting him to come along with the group. Accepted!

Welp, onward with Erosen and Louxelle's conversation I suppose. Erosen's going to have to stop giving ground here soon and learn some things if time allows.

Esternial wrote:Alright what's the situation with you lot? How do I surgically insert myself into your plotline?

Currently the group is in the city of St. Veowulf, in northwest Galllia, part of the region called Albrion. Most of the group is up at the Saint's Seat, the castle/administrative centre of the region. They finished convincing the duke of the city to answer the call for help from islands to the northwest that he rules over in defiance of a federal navy blockade, and now the duke and the group are sorting out going over there to help fight the Hellspawn invaders.

There's a few spots to bring Ulric in. Catrin, one of the PCs, is in a tavern being accosted by a would-be monster hunter because she's a drider. She has no magic of her own, meaning she wouldn't be capable of mageforging, but she's a craftsman herself, so she could bond with Ulric a bit over that, and he can follow her when the group reconvenes to sail to the next location, the Thin Isles.

Alternatively, Ulric could be at the castle already, and have been in the audience witnessing the arguments going back and forth, and strike up a conversation with someone from the group there.

On an unrelated note, how common are Elementals? 1 in 100? 1 in 1000? I've been assuming that there's maybe one for every few hundred - common enough to where most folks know about them and every city has a few, but rare enough to where the knowledge about them is still shrouded and unclear.

Alright, we should be good to skip on the next update, if that's the plan. I've graduated and all the uncertainty with COVID has died down significantly, so I should be present for the foreseeable future.

Ironically, I'm pretty sure that both the Federation and the Confederacy are pretty unhappy with the Garmiccians from a geopolitical standpoint, judging by all the lore in the OP. Katya's impression of her country is terribly different from what it truly is.
