Just rewatched Blade Runner. I noticed a lot that I had missed on my first viewing, which makes me appreciate this film a lot more than I already had.
An Oligarchic state where the ultra-rich govern a nation of entrepreneurs and innovators. Just as corrupt, hedonistic and materialistic as you think, despite its progressive policies and emphasis on quality of life.

Mortal Engines - I could not found the faults that critics wrote to bomb the movie with low ratings, it seems the ordinary general blend of CGI and adventure-action story to me. Would rate it 7/10.

Push had fairly low expectations because I read some reviews before watching, they mostly implied it was hard to understand what was going on. I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, I didn't struggle to understand it, I was pretty stoned though and it is a good stoner film.

Border a Swedish film about a strange border guard who can smell people's emotions. One of the weirdest films I have seen.

Just rewatched The Martian. In my mind it's one of the best examples of hard sci-fi in cinema.

The Brink's Job Peter Falk and Peter Boyle, what a great cast. Good film I'd not seen before.

Lilo and Stitch

It was more sentimental than I remembered it...

Great choice! I watched it again a couple of months ago (?) and it was then that I realized how great the cast is: Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway, James Brown, Carrie Fisher, Dan Ackroyd, Ray Charles, John Candy...

Love & Mercy gave up on it about 40 minutes in, another of those films where the actors just fucking mumble the dialogue.

Seemed appropriate since this week is the anniversary of the Battle of Berlin.

You only live twice - one of the Bond films I have most affection for, though it does rather herald two of the worst aspects of the franchise - silly gadgets and villain's lairs with bloody pointless monorail systems.

Come for Carice van Houten, stay for the 1938 LaSalle!

The monorails are nowhere near as bad as the villains' utter disregard for damage control measures.

I would prefer it if they made a Bond film that was more realistic and set in the right period rather than the films they currently make. I haven't liked one since The Man with the Golden Gun.

Waltz With Bashir. Beautiful movie.
