The only really plausible ones to me are the 40 foot anacondas deep in the Amazons. Everything else seems impossible.

The only way something like a Yeti could survive this long, undetected and unslaughtered, is by being at least as intelligent as a human. Does that seem likely to you?

That's..not what I meant. Anyone who has gone hunting in Indonesia knows killing a deer and cutting it in half on-site is a good way to attract a tiger.

Well, I myself am of the opinion that a large number of cryptids either do not exist or are misidentified animals. However, the ones I consider most likely to exist are those 40ft snakes and perhaps some crityers that never fully went extinct.

I consider giant birds, lost dinosaurs and stuff like Bigfoot to be the least likely to be real due to the very visible nature of such creatures, and in the case of 'lost dinosaurs' the fact that single specimens of creatures don't survive on their own. You need a breeding population and a breeding population of dinosaurs would be pretty darn noticeable.

I'd consider things which are smaller, inhabit places not frequented by humans or live in the deep sea or underground to be more likely.

Yes.But small non-bird dinosaurs still have a chance to exist.Although they are like chickens themselves.I hope.

I must admit a fondness for those pants-monsters too. Some of my favourite cryptid footage of those guys.

The footage is so funny with the way they walk; there's nothing malicious about them, they're just vibing.

I'm of the general opinion that the majority of them are not real. However, that's not to say we know about all of the species which inhabit our world, so who knows, a few of them (or similar creatures, at least) may well exist.

A population of 8-foot tall apes living in the US countryside is almost certainly false, but a strange creature living in the dark depths of the ocean that we don't know about is far more likely.

The problem is that most of the more popular cryptid are located relatively close to human activity.

So there is a contradiction:
-they are unknown because hidden somewhere, presumably where humans don't usually pass by, or don't usually investigate
-they are close enough to be spotted relatively often

If they are spotted relatively often, it means they are also based relatively close to humans, and if they are based close to humans then they can't come from somewhere hidden and never trespassed by humans.
Likewise, if they did come from somewhere rarely trespassed by humans, then the reports of them being spotted should be way more rare, to the point of not even making news.
So one condition invalidates the other.


Though i agree too to remain open-minded, if not just to investigate them further, but the premise is very skewed toward unlikeliness.
