Dunno who is going to be developing the new Crysis game. Cryteks been dealing with some issues for the past few years financially. I just remember hearing them downsize and cutback. Sounds like EA justs wants to revive a dead franchise for profits.

Its EA who owns the Crysis franchise, so their not going to make the game, unless EA gives them the go ahead. I damn right enjoy Hunt: Showdown, but I think they'll have to step up they're game if they are going to make a Crysis game.

1 was a work of art, 2 was a good shooter but not on the same level as 1 and yeah the story was a mess. 3 was a mistake.

They closed down half their studios and fired their entire executive slate back in 2018, then switched up their selling model for Cryengine and put most of their game projects on hold. However, they never filed for bankruptcy protection and it seems like the new price model for Cryengine has been a success. So if they are working on more games, now seems like a good time for them to be announced.

They also recently released Hunt: Showdown, which was very well received ("Very Positive" on Steam both recently and overall; Eurogamer called it "Crytek's best game yet").

Also, they're not affiliated with EA anymore. They self-publish on PC through Steam, and on console they let Koch/Deep Silver handle distribution.

Arma 3 is only 9 bucks right now and the Apex DLC is only 7.50. They also released the Old Man scenario for it which looks dope.

Assassin's Creed II is free on UPlay right now, in case you were in a coma for the entirety of 2010 and thus somehow never played it.

I'm probably going to jump straight into it after I finish Tomb Raider, so get ready to see me bitch about a game's platforming controls even more than I do now.

The older ones have more sensible controls than some of the newer ones imo.

Eh the older ones kinda had the problem of combat being to easy. Just counter then go into a kill chain and you can massacre basically anyone. I like that the newer games have made combat more complex.

I actually just finished it during these past 2 weeks because I'm poor and had a parent who actually cared about game ratings so I never got to play any of the games I wanted to in the 2010's.

We need some kind of balance between more fluid combat and less frustrating climbing.

But there was the issue of enemies coming up and hitting you in the middle of a kill chain, specifically during longer finishing moves, and breaking the chain.

This was mainly a AC II and Brotherhood issue, I've noticed it's been fixed in Revelations by not locking you onto 1 opponent to attack.

I've been meaning to play an AC at some point, considering I never have. Maybe I'll jump on this.

EDIT:

Wait, only on UPlay? It's still $20 on Steam. Wth?
