Lt. General Radoslav Meier and North Baggnagian Divisional General Zbynek Fiala sign the Baggnagian Unification Treaty at the border

NORTH BAGGNAGIA/SOUTH BAGGNAGIA BORDER – Lt. General Radoslav Meier, Chairman of Military Council of South Baggnagia, and North Baggnagian Divisional General Zbynek Fiala met today in person once again. They were both invited to attend a meeting of the Baggnagian Reunification Commission at the border between North and South Baggnagia. It was a large gathering because it had members of the Commission from North and South Baggnagia, Lt. General Radoslav Meier, North Baggnagian Divisional General Zbynek Fiala, North and South Baggnagian diplomats. This was an event broadcast, televised and live-streamed in North and South Baggnagia. Everybody in both nations were holding their breath together. That was because of the anticipation and because everybody watching realized that this was history in the making. They were direct participants and witnesses of it from the distance.

Apart from those gathered at the large Baggnagian Reunification Commission meeting it was empty all around, except for socially-distancing the press. This was done because of a request for North and South Baggnagian citizens to uphold anti-virus measures and avoid large public gatherings. So nobody was a live witness to the event apart from journalists. Other citizens could only observe it through their screens. But the large meeting itself did partially violate the anti-virus recommendations because the Commission’s meeting was a large gathering of people in the same area. All participants avoided shaking hands or touching each other and everybody brought their own pen and paper. Handshakes were also avoided. And yet everybody was at a close proximity to each other. It almost seemed like the participants did not care so much for the virus. They cared more about the long-awaited event for the divided Baggnagian nation that was supposed to happen there and then.

Lt. General Radoslav Meier, Chairman of Military Council of South Baggnagia, and North Baggnagian Divisional General Zbynek Fiala decided to symbolically share one pen when signing the Baggnagian Unification Treaty. The pen was disinfected and both leaders wore gloves when picking it up and passing it to each other. Lt. General Radoslav Meier put on gloves, picked up the disinfected pen and signed the Unification Treaty. Lt. General then passed the Unification Treaty and the pen to North Baggnagian Divisional General who also wore gloves. North Baggnagian Divisional General then proceeded to place his signature on the Unification Treaty. Afterwards glove-wearing North and South Baggnagian members of the Baggnagian Reunification Commission proceeded to sign the Unification Treaty with that same pen or with their own pens. What followed was a handshake between Lt. General Radoslav Meier and North Baggnagian Divisional General Zbynek Fiala. Both were of course wearing gloves at that moment. Everybody around the table exchanged handshakes and smiles while wearing gloves but avoided the temptation to hug each other despite emotion.

Lt. General Radoslav Meier and North Baggnagian Divisional General Zbynek Fiala proceeded to walk from behind the table before the cameras that were capturing the event. They grabbed each other by their right hand and proceeded to raise them as high as they could. From that historic moment North and South Baggnagia were and now are in celebration. One last step left before the border dividing the same nation is removed: ratification on both sides.

Historic Moment: Baggnagian Unification Treaty signed at the border by North and South leaderships, next step is ratification on both sides

NORTH BAGGNAGIA/SOUTH BAGGNAGIA BORDER – We have all just received history in the making. Attendees of the Baggnagian Reunification Commission meeting at the border between North and South Baggnagia have signed the Baggnagian Unification Treaty. The same treaty was approved by North and South Baggnagian voters at the referendum together with the draft of a constitution. But this meeting was only about the Unification Treaty.

While all attendees brought their own pens, paper and other essentials Divisional General Zbynek Fiala and Lt. General Radoslav Meier, Chairman of the South Baggnagian Military Council, decided to do something different. As a symbolic gesture they used the same pen when signing the Unification Treaty. Obviously the pen was disinfected and both leaders wore special gloves just in case. South Baggnagian Lt. General Radoslav Meier signed the Unification Treaty first. He then passed the Treaty and the pen to Divisional General Zbynek Fiala who also wore gloves. Divisional General then signed the Unification Treaty himself. What happened next was that all attendees of the Commission meeting also proceeded to sign it with that same pen or their own pens. Divisional General Zbynek Fiala, South Baggnagian Lt. General Radoslav Meier, North and South Baggnagian members of the Commission, North and South Baggnagian diplomats: everybody had signed it. The signing concluded with a standing ovation, an exchange of handshakes and smiles by everyone at the table but avoidance of hugs no matter how tempting they were. All in the name of safety during the international virus outbreak. The emotion could be felt in the air.

What followed was a moment where Divisional General Zbynek Fiala and South Baggnagian Lt. General Radoslav Meier walked out from behind the table in front of the cameras that were broadcasting the event. The North and South Baggnagian leaders took each other by their right hands (both wearing gloves obviously) and raised them in the air before North and South Baggnagian nations who were watching. Afterwards two diplomats (one North Baggnagian and one South Baggnagian) brought over the Unification Treaty to both leaders. Divisional General Zbynek Fiala and South Baggnagian Lt. General Radoslav Meier picked up the Treaty by its sides and demonstrated it to the cameras with all the signatures on it.

Opposition Klare Sicht (Clear View) Alliance and supporters hold anti-government rally in Freihat

Image

Opposition Klare Sicht (Clear View) Alliance made up of the Party for Central Approach (PCA) and the Social Liberal Party (SLP) has called up supporters into the streets of Freihat to partake in an anti-government rally. The rally is based in Freihat but from the stage with a microphone and some megaphones the alliance has addressed supporters from all over Daredland. PCA and SLP members invited supporters of Klare Sicht (Clear View) Alliance to come to Freihat or organize similar rallies in their own cities. Attending the rally will be those Klare Sicht (Clear View) Alliance who are also in the current government but are still opposition politicians to the LPM coalition that leads. Second Vice President of the Council of States of the Daredi Confederation Daci Bauer (PCA) will attend the rally and so will Special Representative for Interactions with the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg Niklas Böhler (SLP). They will be invited to speak even if it costs them their positions. Böhler made it clear that he did not speak with his boss Confederal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Daredi Confederation Zina Fenstermacher. He said that Daredland is a free nation with a freedom of speech and he does not need permission to attend the rally.

The opposition rally is aimed at blasting all the failures of the LPM-led government and calling for another snap election in Daredland. PCA and SLP had previously aimed to mobilize other parties in Daredland including WCND against the government to turn this into a collective anti-government movement. But WCND turned them away. Even with that speakers from the stage still invited members of other parties who turned them down to rethink their position and join the movement. The only political force that Klare Sicht (Clear View) has managed to find support from was the Germanic Union (GU) coalition which is another opposition political alliance. Legion of Germanic Daredland (LGD) party which is part of GU has conspired with PCA and SLP who comprise the Klare Sicht (Clear View) in the past in events that were a prelude to the Flaming Revolution. It seems now that they are back on the same side of the political frontline. But Daredland has changed since so how will this refurnished alliance look this time.

Rallies and demonstrations are a normal process in a free society so there’s been no reaction from Daredi politicians so far. The only official to react was Confederal Minister of Reintegration and Reconciliation of the Daredi Confederation Franz Potesinan. He said that the Klare Sicht (Clear View) Alliance and the GU coalition (given their past affairs) now protesting together against the government looks to him like ‘[a] counter-revolution to the Flaming Revolution. We should not take this too lightly.’

NEW VESVAI BROADCASTING

New Vesvai Asks For Associate Membership In SOWEFTA

From a tribune at New Vesvai’s Parliament New Vesvai’s Prime Minister Adi Letago has addressed member nations of the SOWEFTA trade bloc. He asked that rather than engage in prolonged New Vesvai and SOWEFTA negotiations for a free trade agreement, then association, then membership the procedure be shortened. He said this not as a demand but as a request. PM Adi Letago asked for the opportunity for New Vesvai to go straight for associate membership and skipping a regular free trade agreement that still keeps some distance. Letago said that New Vesvai wants to soon join the ranks of Daredland and Damsmar in becoming the third associate member of SOWEFTA. Head of government expressed willingness to visit all member nations of the bloc separately if he were allowed to so that he could ask them for this possibility personally. This address to the entire bloc jointly is not the furthest that PM’s ready to go according to him.

Several days back Perloveu was the place where the first Council of 3 meeting was held. It was attended by delegations from the Council’s three member nations: New Vesvai, Daredland and West Zilveren Berg. PM Adi Letago made sure to be there. Among the meeting’s special guests was also Secretary General Joan Armbrüster. Normally all of the Council’s meetings are held in Daredland because that’s where the Council’s headquarters are. But this time an exception was made including by the pro-activity and insistence of New Vesvai’s government. PM Letago wanted to ask Daredi delegates at the meeting to share their nation’s experience in their road to MDAA and SOWEFTA.

Today the Prime Minister says that New Vesvai is ready for associate membership in SOWEFTA. He will be keeping contact with the governments of member nations of the bloc. The agenda would be to ask for the possibility if a quick meeting but not necessarily a summit could be held with SOWEFTA members and New Vesvai in attendance. During this meeting New Vesvai would aim to sign the association.

South Baggnagian Alexander Lončár becomes the first case of Novell Illness virus in North Baggnagia

Image

SILCENDA, NORTH BAGGNAGIA – Today’s joyous occasion in North Baggnagia over the signing of Unification Treaty with South Baggnagia (which has only happened hours ago) had to be interrupted by alarming news. The first case of infection with the Novel Illness virus has been confirmed in North Baggnagia and in the capital Silcenda specifically. And it’s not a North Baggnagian citizen but a South Baggnagian citizen who’s infected. Even if the Unification Treaty was signed that person is still considered a foreign national in North Baggnagia at the moment. The infected South Baggnagian is Alexander Lončár. He is known for being a Baggnagian parliamentarian (before division) who was appointed by the Chamber of Deputies of still-united Baggnagia to be acting president when then-president and later first leader of North Baggnagia Fran Hapénic launched his coup which led up to the nation’s division. Alexander Lončár remained acting president and basically first head of state of South Baggnagia.

Alexander Lončár was taken to a hospital in Silcenda with flu-like symptoms and an intense fever. He was said to have a passport and a visa on him so he was in North Baggnagia legally. Doctors say he may have to be immediately transferred to ICU because his symptoms are intense. The announcement comes as a shock because North and South Baggnagia both agreed to close themselves off from the word and keep the virus out of both their borders. That decision was made when the Novell Illness virus (still unidentified at the time) reached the territory of Kurzera belonging to the Rezuan Empire. That territory is in a close proximity to North and South Baggnagia. It was recognized that South Baggnagia may geographically be more vulnerable than North. So it is not surprising that a South Baggnagian citizen unfortunately caught the infection first. Ironically though he was diagnosed in North Baggnagia whereas South Baggnagia is still virus-free and hopefully will remain.

Jugac Municipality calmed the citizens down and said that the hospital ensured the patient’s isolation. It didn’t take long for Divisional General Zbynek Fiala (who has not returned from the North–South border yet) to address all North Baggnagian citizens and tell them to stay calm and avoid panic. Because this is a fresh case the medics don’t yet know if the patient has RETRIT-20 or PVAX-20. One is said to be more aggressive than the other, but the Novell Virus is also called the combination of both. Since it’s a South Baggnagian citizen the North Baggnagian leadership is not sure what to do. Whether to treat him in Silcenda or send him back home. Most likely he will be kept in Silcenda either way especially since North and South had just agreed to move towards reunification. There will no longer be separate North and South Baggnagian citizens. The same argument is being made towards the border between North and South which should technically stop existing soon because both nations are reunifying. Because a South Baggnagian brought over the disease into the North then a border with the South should be closed from the North’s side. But that would sabotage the long-awaited reunification process which both nations are already moving towards. All action is to be coordinated with the South’s leadership.

16 cases of Novel Illness virus confirmed in South Baggnagia, all cases are former politicians

Image

NEODVISNI, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – Yesterday (hours after the historic signing of the Baggnagian Unification Treaty) North Baggnagia experienced its first Novel Illness virus case in the face of South Baggnagian ex-parliamentarian and ex-acting president Alexander Lončár. Today South Baggnagia has been hit too and hit hard. The South has experienced a real surge unfortunately coming out of nowhere. The nation thought it was prepared but it wasn’t. It almost synchronized with the illness having first appeared in the North. In South Baggnagia 16 individuals in the exclave of Neodvisni have tested positive for the Novell Virus. They were examined by South Baggnagian and Sunrisian military doctors active in the area. These individuals are former South Baggnagian politicians who attended a huge conference in the exclave of Neodvisni and were all in the same building together.

Those who tested positive for the Novell Virus in South Baggnagia are.

1. Dobrin Nóvak (First elected President of South Baggnagia).

2. Tomáš Talbursen (Second Prime Minister of South Baggnagia).

3. Slavko Kastélic (First Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ventismarian Integration of South Baggnagia).

4. Branimir Vuković (First Minister of Defense of South Baggnagia).

5. Jurij Zéjler-Leichhardt (Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ventismarian Affairs (later just Foreign Affairs) of South Baggnagia).

6. Vojtěch Wylem Bětnar (Second Minister of Defense of South Baggnagia).

7. Jan Potóčnik (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from United Centrists (UC) in the first presidential election).

8. Emil Dragíc (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from Baggnagian Conservative Coalition (BCC) in the first presidential election).

9. Ana Kóvačič (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from New Baggnagia (NB) in the first presidential election).

10. Stanko Krájnc (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from Baggnagian Dream (BD) in the first presidential election).

11. Elizabeta Trifónova (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from Progressive Party (PP) in the first presidential election).

12. Aljaž Níkolov (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from Baggnagian Moderate Party (BMP) in the first presidential election).

13. Nejc Vukovíc (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from Coalition of Democrats and Liberals (CDL) in the first presidential election).

14. Nikola Zupánčič (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from Nationalist Party of South Baggnagia (NPSB) in the first presidential election).

15. Mare Pópovic (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from Green Party (GP) in the first presidential election).

16. Leon Kučéra (Candidate for South Baggnagian President from Civil Contract (CC) in the first presidential election).

The list excludes South Baggnagian ex-parliamentarian and ex-acting president Alexander Lončár who is hospitalized in North Baggnagia.

The infected former politicians had been hospitalized in Neodvisni in civilian hospitals, rather than military medical checkpoints set up by South Baggnagian and Sunrisian forces. Local authorities in Neodvisni and now the South Baggnagian Military Council are considering a lockdown or quarantine of Neodvisni because it is currently the apparent source of Novell Virus in South Baggnagia.

President Addél Dîlectên, the commander-in-chief, visited the Convet of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia today, in order to inform the lawmakers that he was going to begin the evacuation of Sunrisians from North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia, like many parties in the Convet, including governing majority, opposition parties and parties in-between, have been calling for. Afterwards, the President appeared in a broadcast address, with Vice President Césâ Gáûdĕr, new National Defense Consultant Líbêll Aûctórên, new Minister of International Relations of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Vénî Adsécĕr and new Vice Minister of Security of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia by his side. New Minister of Security of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Vîsár Inpétăs is still on an official visit to West Zilveren Berg.

At the Convet and in this address, President Addél Dîlectên announced that Sunrisian armed forces geared-up against the virus would be deployed to North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia to evacuate all Sunrisian humanitarian workers and other nationals from both those countries, except for the ACREFOR peacekeepers. The decision was made not only when the first heavy case of the RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 Virus was confirmed yesterday in North Baggnagia, with the patient turning out to be a former South Baggnagian politician and leader at one time, but also when 16 cases of the virus were reported in South Baggnagia, specifically the Neodvisni exclave, where Sunrisian Army – Neodvisni (SAN) remains stationed for now, despite that branch planning to be disbanded. The Sunrisian forces in South Baggnagia and North Baggnagia had been provided with protective gear, which were delivered to them by the Convet’s insistence, prior to the actual outbreak in both Baggnagian countries. The 16 cases of the virus infection in South Baggnagia are former politicians, who attended a large conference in Neodvisni and undoubtedly all were infected there by those carrying the disease before the conference. They were diagnosed before by South Baggnagian and Sunrisian military doctors and are currently receiving treatment. However, it is not just the Baggnagians that have unfortunately been reached by this virus.

A Sunrisian humanitarian worker in North Baggnagia also tested positive after developing symptoms. After the Sunrisian Military in North Baggnagia reported this to General Térsâ Nītádĕr, Commander of Sunrisian Forces – South Baggnagia (SFSB) and its’ sub-division Sunrisian Army – Neodvisni (SAN), and the General proceeded to inform the Sunrisian Ventismarian Command (SUNVENCOM) HQ, it finally reached Orentan and the Dîlectên administration through the Department of Security of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia. Without a National Defense Council meeting and a long consultation, the President ordered the evacuation of all “non-military” Sunrisian nationals from North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia, including humanitarian workers. President Dîlectên referenced Sunrisian NGOs like – The White Dove (WD), the Harmony League (HL), the Liberty Conglomerate (LC) and many others, who had been “pouring” into North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia after the Baggnagian War ended. The aforementioned geared-up military forces would be deployed to evacuate the humanitarians, including the infected humanitarian. According to information coming from the spot, his condition is not difficult and upon being brought home, he would receive immediate medical attention and be isolated.

According to recommendations of the previous Departments of Health and the Interior, Sunrisian humanitarians and other nations returning from North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia were requested to isolate for 14 days at first, but that number was later boosted up to a month, when more information about the virus became known. The self-isolation rules had been followed by these professionals and nobody was reported to have developed symptoms since. Those who tested, have tested negative. But that was before the virus was confirmed either North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia. Now that the virus is there and one Sunrisian humanitarian is already infected, the mass evacuation of so many humanitarians will require testing and self-isolation, hopefully voluntarily, but also with the possible intervention by authorities, according to the Dîlectên administration. The President added that the vacancy left in North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia by humanitarian workers will be filled by newly-deployed additional military doctors, who will be taking their spot.

In other news:

  • BREAKING: President Addél Dîlectên to call up a National Defense Council meeting over the RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 Virus.

  • BREAKING: Orentan-based Health And Scientific Advancement Organization (HSAO) says it will accelerate the development of a vaccine for the RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 Virus. The development of the vaccine originally began, when the virus was first reported in other parts of the world.

  • Prior to the RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 Virus outbreak in both countries, North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia had finally signed the Baggnagian Unification Treaty at the shared border.

Čérny family is self-isolating, Sylva Čérny calls on her and the Socialist Bloc party’s supporters around North and South Baggnagia to self-isolate too

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – After the outbreak of the Novell Virus in North and South Baggnagia the Čérny family has made a move towards self-isolation. From home Socialist Bloc party leader Sylva Čérny reached out to her supporters and asked them to self-isolate at home even if official quarantine has not yet been announced in South Baggnagia. Her father Karel Čérny expressed solidarity with the 17 South Baggnagian former politicians (including Alexander Lončár hospitalized in North Baggnagia) who have been infected. Čérny, Sr. ran against all of them in the first South Baggnagian presidential election. Sylva Čérny said that she admittedly argued with the Jugac city authorities about promoting a Pro-Democracy March in Jugac and nationwide in South Baggnagia and even in North Baggnagia this time. The Municipality told her it was dangerous to encourage large gatherings of people at the time of a virus risk in North and South Baggnagia. She argued that the virus was not reported anywhere yet and that she, her father and members of their Socialist Bloc party have tested negative at the airport when coming back from self-exile. But that was several days ago. Now the situation has changed and the virus is now in North and South Baggnagia. It is in South Baggnagia to a larger extent as it was predicted because of its geographic location. Now Čérny encourages her supporters to stay at home by following the example of herself, her father Karel and their party members. They are all self-isolating. But she also did not reject conspiracy theories that there was a virus that broke out in South Baggnagia just as she was preparing to push the Pro-Democracy March further against military rule in South Baggnagia. In North Baggnagia too because both nations would be reunifying soon so she now addresses a larger base of her party’s supporters in North and South. There were those who reacted negatively to Čérny’s conspiracy by noting that the virus has existed and been present in other territories for a while before reaching North and South Baggnagia now. So its handmade origin was not a supported theory in their eyes. The critics of the conspiracy theory said it was cynical to think that way.

President Addél Dîlectên Clashes With PID Director Fórî Apstérâ

New Media Representative for the Administration of the President Vósâ Lócīta said that there is apparently a new clash happening between the Sunrisian government and the Sunrisian special services. Specifically, between the administration of President Addél Dîlectên and the Prime Intelligence Division (PID), the leading intelligence agency in Sunrisia. Or, if you want to narrow it down even more, it looks like a clash personally between President Addél Dîlectên and PID Director Fórî Apstérâ. It reflects an interpersonal conflict. It is unknown what the two are arguing about, but apparently the President has finally decided to take on the PID Director personally, who also happens to be his acting predecessor. The head of state has scolded the Director of PID, his predecessors and his colleagues in the intelligence community for having controlled the previous Sunrisian governments and for apparently not wanting to let go of the influence of the current one either. It looks like a fulfillment of a campaign promise, because President Dîlectên, when he was still candidate, promised to remove the influence of the Sunrisian Intelligence and the Sunrisian Military from the government and restore the constitutional order, where everybody plays the role they are assigned to play, not more or less. Apparently, PID Director Fórî Apstérâ decided not to take the scolding from the President towards himself and the intelligence community and stood up, which caused a verbal clash between both of them.

Convet Speaker Flórên Infána criticized both for the “drama” at the time when the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia now has a national infected with RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 Virus about to be on the country’s soil, a Sunrisian who is a humanitarian and sacrificed his health helping other people, from other nations far-away from Sunrisia. The virus will now officially be in Sunrisia upon the humanitarian's transportation to the country, so according to the Speaker and the Convet, that must be the primary topic right now.

The statement by Convet Speaker Flórên Infána was the following:

Mr. President, Director Apstérâ. With all due respect, could you both please stop acting like children? We have an emergency here. RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 will soon be on Sunrisian soil, because we unfortunately had a fallen hero, a humanitarian, being infected with it in North Baggnagia, while helping people over there. He will logically be brought over home to be treated. But our military is also evacuating all other humanitarians out of North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia. They will be tested for the virus upon landing, not to mention those, who are being tested right now, referring to the humanitarians that have arrived earlier on their own. How many more could have had the virus out of those earlier ones, who came back before and were requested to self-isolate at home on their own? How many potential cases do we not know about yet? How many more might already be here and how many could still arrive? And in the meantime you are over there measuring your masculinity or whatever you are doing? Focus on this. We cannot make any final conclusions, because the administration is not releasing the information to the public on what is happening between President Dîlectên and Director Apstérâ.

Mr. President, if what we are hearing is true and you are indeed trying to remove the influence of the Sunrisian Intelligence and Sunrisian Military from the government to transform us back into a real democracy and not a stratocracy, then that is commendable. You promised Sunrisians you would do that. But there is an emergency right now. I spoke with National Defense Consultant Líbêll Aûctórên. I understand, that already today, there have been 2 National Defense Council meetings on RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 that the President had called up? The first one was in the late afternoon, after there was an announcement made of the evacuation and of the infected Sunrisian humanitarian. The second one was late in the evening, a couple of hours ago. Well, get to the rest of those meetings as soon as possible and work out the remaining action plans to stop RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 in its’ tracks, in Sunrisia and from getting to other countries as well, ones that have accessibility to us.

In other news:

  • BREAKING: 11 more Sunrisian humanitarians, who had arrived from North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia earlier, prior to today's evacuation, test positive for RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 Virus. Total number in the country is now 12. Humanitarians will be isolating and receiving treatment.

Ex-Chairman of Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia Gustáv Feldt tests positive for Novell Virus

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – South Baggnagia adds a seventeenth national to the list of those infected with Novell Virus. And again it is not an ordinary figure. He led the nation for quite a while or presided over a certain leadership before the military took over. Yes. It’s ex-Chairman of Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia Gustáv Feldt. He has tested positive for the Novell Virus after developing symptoms. He hesitated to check himself into the hospital but some of his ideological associates exposed him. Masked and gloved authorities had to come in with doctors into the residence of ex-Chairman. He resisted the test at first but was persuaded. That’s the explanation that was given: persuaded. Given that the police was there it could mean anything. But it sounds like the official theory was that the arriving doctors convinced the ex-Chairman to be tested for flu. Even though he didn’t call the doctors into his home he figured might as well if they were there. The verdict: positive test for Novell Virus. He could have been convinced to stay at home but the ex-Chairman’s rebellious behavior did not guarantee he could self-isolate. So the police had to apprehend him and help take him to the nearest hospital. Over there he would be isolated and treated like the other 16 patients up in Neodvisni. Except this time the Novell Illness is also in Jugac and ex-Chairman Gustáv Feldt is the infected one. For the security of the rest of the city and the disease’s containment his isolation had to be ensured with his consent or without it according to Jugac authorities. Ex-Chairman Gustáv Feldt supposedly fired back by saying that he wouldn’t expect any kind of other behavior from the authorities in a nation governed by military rule. That was an obvious attack on the Military Council of South Baggnagia which took power over from the Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia which Gustáv Feldt was the only Chairman of. Feldt was sent words of solidarity from Nikola Zupánčič (Nationalist Party of South Baggnagia (NPSB) candidate for South Baggnagian President in the first South Baggnagian presidential election) who is also hospitalized for Novell Illness but up in Neodvisni. NPSB party supported the ousting of the South Baggnagian government that came before and ascendance to power by the Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia in its place. So they are ideologically close. They were not enthusiastic together about the military takeover either. But now they are also unfortunately united by both having the Novell Virus.

Sunrisia Closes All Borders, Imposes Nationwide State Of Emergency And Quarantine Until May

LIVE BROADCAST

State Of Emergency (Quarantine): Day 1

Active Cases: 12 (Being Treated)

Image

Convet (legislature/parliament) of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia.

Us – Sunrisian isolationists, are isolating even more. President Addél Dîlectên, with Vice President Césâ Gáûdĕr, National Defense Consultant Líbêll Aûctórên, new Minister of Security of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Vîsár Inpétăs, who has recently returned from West Zilveren Berg, new Minister of the Interior and Home Affairs of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Aûdrî Elénên, new New Minister of Health of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Anímâ Sálûs and new Minister of Finance and Economic Development of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Cóitâ Nêcétó by his side, has announced in front of the nation of the imposition of the State of Emergency in the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia over the RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 virus. Simultaneously, the imposition of the State of Emergency has been referred to as a nationwide quarantine. The decision was made over 4 separate National Defense Council meetings in the span of 2 days. 2 meetings took place yesterday and 2 today. A decision was made on a State of Emergency and a nationwide quarantine. President Addél Dîlectên went to the Convet of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia to ask lawmakers for legal support of this measure. The lawmakers approved. The State of Emergency/Quarantine is set to last until May 1st, with it either being lifted earlier or extended beyond May 1st, depending on the situation.

Additionally, Sunrisia will be deploying soldiers of the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) to all of its’ national borders to keep the virus from spreading into neighboring countries and spreading to Sunrisia from neighboring countries. Borders have been sealed off. Travel from and into the country has been prohibited. The airspace has been closed for all passenger aircraft, except for cargo and Sunrisian Air Force. Maritime boundaries have also been closed for ferries and cruise ships, except for cargo ships. Anything coming into Sunrisia that has been exempt from the prohibition list would go through extra-checks. Inside the country, travel between the cities and active life within the cities, towns and rural areas would also be monitored greater. Military Police and the National Guard would now have a larger role in assisting authorities around the country. Sunrisia will also be unilaterally suspending visa exemption for the citizens from countries it has such an agreement with, including closest neighbors. These were the measures jointly elaborated on by Minister of the Interior and Home Affairs Aûdrî Elénên and Minister of Security Vîsár Inpétăs, after President Dîlectên voiced them. The Minister of the Interior and Home Affairs encouraged Sunrisians to avoid “non-esential” leaving of their homes during this State of Emergency/Quarantine period until May 1st, depending on how it will go further. Meanwhile, the Minister of Security said that the Sunrisian Military would continue bringing back every humanitarian worker and “non-military” Sunrisian national from North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia until every single one is home. As mentioned before, they would be replaced by military doctors in those countries. The arrived humanitarians would go into isolated military hospitals, escorted by the soldiers, rather than to civilian hospitals. Nevertheless, that will also depend on the severity of the symptoms. The Minister of the Interior and Home Affairs said that these arriving Sunrisians would receive tests practically as they set foot on Sunrisian soil.

Meanwhile, Minister of Finance and Economic Development Cóitâ Nêcétó said that Sunrisia would have to consider allocating at least 20, 22 or 24% of the budget to support the economy during this period, providing subsidies and not loans that would have to be returned. Minister of Health Anímâ Sálûs reconfirmed the statistic that there are currently 12 known cases of RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 and those are the humanitarians, who are returning or being returned from North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia. Many have returned prior and more will return later, so it is unknown if the number will fluctuate. However, the Minister calmly instructed Sunrisians citizens on necessary hygienic, sterile and protective measures against the virus and said that there are going to be more daily news conferences with updates and more elaboration in the coming days with Minister of Health Anímâ Sálûs. Minister of the Interior and Home Affairs Aûdrî Elénên will also be having daily news conferences in the upcoming days on the matter.

In the meantime, President Addél Dîlectên said the following:

Friends, I know that this might seem like extreme measures, with only 12 confirmed cases in our big country. But we are firm in saying that we are not losing a single Sunrisian to this. The 12 known humanitarian heroes, who have been infected, will recover, while the disease will spread no further in this country. We will not wait until the situation starts going critical. We are taking these precautionary measures now, so that the decline of the virus’ presence in this country would begin before the scale can even start going up. I hope for your understanding. I ask you to stay home, uphold hygiene and sterile measures that the honorable Minister of Health has just spoken about and will speak more of. Respect the quarantine, do not panic, keep up contact with your families and friends at a distance. This is not the apocalypse, this is not a catastrophe. These might be unusual conditions and you might feel isolated in your own country, but remember that we are all in this together. As always, Sunrisia will prevail. We will prevail.

Ex-Foreign Minister Mina Symank and ex-Defense Minister Stanislaw Šturm test positive for Novell Virus, total number in South Baggnagia now 19

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – Two more cases of the Novell Virus in South Baggnagia. This time again in Jugac. Ex-Foreign Minister Mina Symank and ex-Defense Minister Stanislaw Šturm have tested positive for Novell Virus. Both voluntarily checked in with the doctors after developing symptoms described as being those of the virus. Early reports say that both have less severe symptoms but they would still be hospitalized. The important thing now is to isolate these two new infected patients and help them. Right now South Baggnagia with help from Sunrisia and North Baggnagia can deal with the numbers of cases it has. But doctors do not exclude the option that lesser sick patients might be let go home and be recommended to self-isolate there to make room and give more attention to more severe cases. With Symank and Šturm also becoming infected the total number of cases in South Baggnagia is now 19. That is not something that the South Baggnagian healthcare can’t handle, but the medical community is hinting at necessary isolation tactics to contain the spread while it’s so small. Neodvisni still remains the hotbed with 16 cases there and only 3 in Jugac. In North Baggnagia there’s currently a single case and that is also a South Baggnagian citizen. It’s Alexander Lončár who by the latest information is doing worse than all others. South Baggnagians are now looking to the South Baggnagian Military Council for leadership in this time.

Government Overthrows Intelligence Agencies? PID Director Fórî Apstérâ And Other Heads Of Sunrisian Intelligence Services Forcefully Demoted

State Of Emergency (Quarantine): Day 2

Active Cases: 12 (Being Treated)

Apparently, the Sunrisian government has finally taken back control over national leadership from its’ intelligence services and the military today? After a scandalous conflict between President Addél Dîlectên and PID Director Fórî Apstérâ, the head of state “went in for the kill.” The President did not straight up kick PID Director Apstérâ out, recognizing his personal contributions to Sunrisia, despite the current personal animosity between the two, however, President Dîlectên announced that he is officially demoting PID Director Fórî Apstérâ. In other words, Apstérâ is no longer the Director of the Prime Intelligence Division (PID) and head of the leading intelligence agency in the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia. Instead, Mr. Fórî Apstérâ is now just a regular PID agent. The President intend to replace Apstérâ with somebody “brand new.” In fact, the PID is not the only intelligence agency in Sunrisia that has come under President Dîlectên’s attack. The head of state is “slashing heads” in the entire intelligence community of Sunrisia. The President has officially announced that he would be demoting the current heads of all intelligence agencies in Sunrisia to regular agents, while replacing them with “brand new” people, who will also have experience how to run those intelligence agencies. President Dîlectên is completely “cleaning house” in the same way as he has been with the administration, where he replaced all Ministers and all other officials with new ones.

The Convet of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia, which has been very skeptical towards this President in part because of his policies and in part because he does not belong to any parties in the parliament, have this time applauded him. Optimistically, lawmakers believe that the Sunrisian government has finally overthrown the Sunrisian Intelligence and Sunrisian Military, rather than vice versa. There is now truly no stratocracy in this country, but an elected representative democracy as it was supposed to the entire time, especially under the current constitution adopted on August 22. Convet Speaker Flórên Infána, seen wearing a respirator and gloves, said that if the President has truly achieved what he promised and declared, and if the “ventriloquist wires” of the Sunrisian intelligence services and the armed forces have truly “been cut” from the government, then the actual conclusion to the so-called “shadow government” scandal has actually come be a reality today.

Members of the Convet have legally backed the President’s move towards demoting the current heads of Sunrisian intelligence services. The Convet will have to approve the President’s new nominations. There are also rumors that the commander-in-chief plans to do a similar “reshuffle” in the military command of the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF).

In other news:

  • Department of Security of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia says that evacuated “non-military” Sunrisian nationals coming from North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia, are being taken straight to military hospitals in isolated conditions.

  • Media Representative for the Administration of the President Vósâ Lócīta: “President Addél Dîlectên is set to hold private phone conversations with Divisional General Zbynek Fiala of North Baggnagia and Lieutenant General Radoslav Meier of South Baggnagia later this evening.

Virus Will Not Stop Us: Military Council ratifies Baggnagian Unification Treaty and approves of the new United Baggnagian Constitution

Image Image

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – Military Council of South Baggnagia has ratified the Baggnagian Unification Treaty signed at the border by attendees of the Baggnagian Reunification Commission. The attendees included: members of the Commission from North and South Baggnagia, Lt. General Radoslav Meier, North Baggnagian Divisional General Zbynek Fiala, North and South Baggnagian diplomats. Everybody in attendance signed the Unification Treaty. The Military Council wasted no time to ratify it soon after it was signed with North Baggnagia, but the problems with Novell Virus have slowed things down. The ratification has happened later than intended. The Military Council also did not waste time adopting the new constitution of a unified Baggnagian state. Like with the Treaty's ratification the adoption was slowed down by the epidemic. The constitution was approved by voters in the Double Referendum the same way as the Unification Treaty was (before it was signed). Lt. General Radoslav Meier, Chairman of the Military Council of South Baggnagia, congratulated the Military Council on the historic vote and invited the Military Council to welcome the ratification of the Unification Treaty and adoption of the constitution with a standing ovation. Lt. General Radoslav Meier also congratulated South Baggnagian people and also North Baggnagian people on what has happened at the Military Council of South Baggnagia today. He declared that South Baggnagia has now done its part and completed everything to bring about the Baggnagian Reunification. The final steps are now behind the North Baggnagian military government. Lt. General Radoslav Meier called upon his North Baggnagian colleague and the military government led by him not to take their time and finally bring Baggnagian people’s shared dream to realization.

Hastings presidential portrait being drafted
By Guila Gomez

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pictured above is the currently one of the official photographs of Executive Minister Spencer Hastings. However, this one is unique as It was specifically commissioned to be used as the inspiration behind Hasting's official Executive Minister portrait which will be drafted by University of Tonnes Art Professor Amelia Hildman later this year.

"It was my idea," Hildman said "When Hasting's got into office and was having her first offical photos taken, I asked for several more to be taken to be used later down the line. It was a bit odd as I didn't give a reason, but they indulged me. Now I have something incredible to work with." Hastings has received criticism from many across the country because many see her photos as "unprofessional" however that same poll also sees many of her photos as unique and give a different narrative than the rigid professionalism that previous EMs had. Hildman is also a highly respected artist, her works being displayed across most modern art galleries across the country from as far flung places such as Nordipolica to Mirva City. The Executive Minister herself also had a few choice words. "It was quite heartwarming, if I'm honest. That someone thinks that highly of me that they wanted to do my official portrait that soon after I took office." The Department of Layfet State Affair's Government Depictions Office commissioned Hildman earlier this week and this was the earliest that an official portrait was ever commissioned as Hastings is barley four months into office.

Virus Will Not Stop Us: North Baggnagian military government ratifies Baggnagian Unification Treaty and approves of the Constitution of the Democratic Republic of Baggnagia

Image Image

SILCENDA, NORTH BAGGNAGIA – Not for a second did the North Baggnagian military government not feel the pressure from North and South Baggnagian people. After the South Baggnagian Military Council ratified the Baggnagian Unification Treaty and adopted the new constitution the final word was behind the North Baggnagian military government. It had the responsibility to follow in the South Baggnagian Military Council’s footsteps to bring about a united Baggnagia. Because Divisional General Zbynek Fiala and military officials of the North Baggnagian military government wanted this to happen no less than South Baggnagian Lt. General Radoslav Meier, South Baggnagian Military Council, North and South Baggnagian people, the North Baggnagian military government rushed towards bringing about this mutual dream as fast as possible. Divisional General Zbynek Fiala called up the North Baggnagian military government to vote on the ratification of the Unification Treaty and adoption of the new constitution. Both approved by North and South Baggnagian people in a joint referendum. The Unification Treaty already signed by North and South Baggnagia was ratified by South Baggnagia earlier this evening. Without discussion, debate, argument or hesitation the North Baggnagian military government voted unanimously to ratify the Unification Treaty. The same was with the vote on the adoption of the new constitution. After both votes had passed they were met with a standing ovation and even loud cheers from Divisional General Zbynek Fiala and the rest of the North Baggnagian military government. From this moment Baggnagia is one nation again. April 11 is that historic day of Baggnagian Reunification. It will go into national and world history.

Minister Of Security Vîsár Inpétăs Addresses Military Posture Overseas And Updates On Combat Commands

State Of Emergency (Quarantine): Day 3

Active Cases: 12 (Being Treated)

Minister of Security of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Vîsár Inpétăs has addressed some changes in the Sunrisian military posturing overseas, including with Unified and sub-unified Combatant Commands, which is a process coinciding with the “reshuffle” in the top military command of the Sunrisian Defense Force (SDF) by the Dîlectên administration:

Let me remove this respirator for a moment, so that it would easier to talk and you could hear me better as well. I am glad to see that the representatives our media and journalist community have prepared with respirators, masks and gloves as well, even some disinfection liquid for your hands and keeping distance from each other. Very nice. I am sure, that like the rest of the country, you and myself will hear more instructions from our Minister of Health on how to behave during these virus-dominated times. It is also possible we will have to transition into a new format of communication between government officials and the media soon. However, let me now get to my area of responsibility and what I came here to address.

Sunrisia will be relocating 2 ballistic missile defense systems it has placed in other parts of Ventismar to the newly-reunified Baggnagia, which became whole basically on the day, an occasion on which I congratulate the Baggnagian people personally and our administration as well. Prior to that, each ballistic missile defense system was stationed in separate countries and each had 200 soldiers guarding it. Well, even though we are relocating those 2 ballistic missile defense systems to Baggnagia, we are not deploying those 400 soldiers to Baggnagia as well to keep a watch on them. Our forces in Baggnagia can take it from there. The 400 soldiers would instead be brought back home, because the virus is making us consider and even authorizes certain withdrawal of our soldiers from certain parts of the world, where their presence is not vital right now. That includes a unilateral withdrawal of 4,000 Sunrisian soldiers from the region of Celstead, but which in no way, should put under question our commitment to the defense and the security of allies.

Regarding Unified Combatant Commands, the headquarters of the Sunrisian Corentian Command (SUNCORCOM) and the Sunrisian Ventismarian Command (SUNVENCOM) would be brought back to being “domestic-based.” Regarding the Sub-unified Combatant Commands, as it was announced earlier and now confirmed to be official, Sunrisian Forces – South Baggnagia (SFSB) would now be renamed into Sunrisian Forces – Baggnagia (SFB), with the reunified country of Baggnagia being its’ area of responsibility, while the sub-division Sunrisian Army – Neodvisni (SAN) would now be abolished. For now, General Térsâ Nītádĕr remains the Commander of Sunrisian Forces – Baggnagia (SFB) and the Sunrisian half of the Joint Task Force (JTF) with Baggnagian armed forces.

Finally, ACREFOR Mission in North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia (ACREFORMINBSB) would be succeeded by ACREFOR Mission in Baggnagia (ACREFORMIB), which will finish what ACREFORMINBSB started.

That will be all for the announcements. Thank you, stay safe and stay healthy.

Military Council transfers power to the Constituent Assembly, new quarantine measures and elections in Baggnagia declared

JUGAC, BAGGNAGIA – Baggnagia observed the ceremony of power transfer as the next major milestone after the Reunification. After both nations reunified the North Baggnagian military government went extinct. Military Council of South Baggnagia became the Military Council of Baggnagia as the temporary military authority. But with the constitution now in place the power has to go to a provisional government instead of a military government. That is where the Constituent Assembly of Baggnagia comes in. The same body that drafted the constitution which people voted on in a referendum is now legally taking over as the provisional government. In a formal power transfer ceremony the Military Council of Baggnagia transferred power over to the Constituent Assembly of Baggnagia. Apart from symbolic speeches about the Baggnagian future among the new provisional government’s first announcements were tightened border-sealing and quarantine measures in Baggnagia. They will be taken to stop the number of infected going beyond 20 like it is now in all of Baggnagia. The next important announcement was the declaration of presidential and parliamentary elections. They are planned to take place back to back or apart depending on what decision will be taken later. The specific dates have not been named and the situation with the virus is making it difficult to make any such specific decisions. The Constituent Assembly hopes the virus will be taken under control or maybe even gotten rid of soon and Baggnagia can move on with holding elections normally. Another question which arises is how the politicians and parties are supposed to campaign in the conditions of the quarantine? After all large public gatherings are discouraged. But apperantly that’s not something that regular citizens should worry about because ambitious politicians seem like they’ll find ways and platforms to campaign without violating quarantine.

BREAKING: Vesvai’s Part Of The Union Of Oblaren And Vesvai To Leave The Rhodeve Commonwealth But On Positive Terms: Union Stays Part Of ROVAA

After 10 years of membership in the Rhodeve Commonwealth it looks like Vesvai will be withdrawing from the organization. This was a compromise made when raising the question of international organization membership of Oblaren and Vesvai Union. It was mentioned many times before that prior to their merger Oblaren and Vesvai independently were both members of ROVAA. But only Vesvai was additionally a member of the Rhodeve Commonwealth and Rhodeve Queen Diana Wolff was Vesvai’s monarch. Obviously the Union needed a compromise on its international organization membership to not tare the new united nation apart. Because the Union of Oblaren and Vesvai is going for a republic system of government the decision was made to withdraw Vesvai’s part of the Union from the Commonwealth and no longer consider Rhodeve Queen Diana Wolff the monarch of Vesvai. But even with such a cold severance Vesvai’s First Minister Jonathan Mollisal made it clear that Vesvai is not leaving the Commonwealth on hostile terms. Vesvai’s local government will continue to promote the Union’s warm and allied relations with all members of the Rhodeve Commonwealth just like before. Presently the Oblaren and Vesvai Union still remains part of ROVAA. Independent Dominion of Vesvai originally joined the Rhodeve Commonwealth in 2010 while having been a Rhodeve colony prior to gaining independence.

BREAKING: Governor-General Andrew Gaileta Protests Vesvai’s Withdrawal From The Rhodeve Commonwealth: Receives Offers For Another Government Position

Vesvai’s withdrawal from the Rhodeve Commonwealth is a shocking announcement. But it seems that presently the most upset and vocal about it is unsurprisingly Governor-General Andrew Gaileta. His position has basically been rendered defunct with leaving of the Commonwealth. He has protested the withdrawal but refused to resign from his post out of hope that there would be a reconsideration of the decision. Gaileta called for the unlikely option of the Union of Oblaren and Vesvai to join the Rhodeve Commonwealth in its entirety. Vesvai’s First Minister Jonathan Mollisal said he’d speak with Governor-General Andrew Gaileta and convince him to accept a different government position. Withdrawal from the Rhodeve Commonwealth would abolish the position of Governor-General and remove it from the joint constitution of the Union of Oblaren and Vesvai.

Update On Union Government Talks Between Aurisi And Fortwel

The dialogue between Aurisi, Vesvai and Fortwel, Oblaren on the Union’s government seems to be moving along. So far it seems that the nations are going for a hybrid of a unitary and federalized system. Vesvai and Oblaren would retain local governments over the islands but create an overreaching government of the Union that will be at the top of the power hierarchy. Only time will tell whether the Union will move in a more centralized or decentralized direction. Another intriguing question is on who from Oblaren and Vesvai will take offices in the new overreaching government?

Sylva Čérny announces her official run for President of Baggnagia as a candidate from the Socialist Bloc party and the party’s run in the parliamentary election

JUGAC, BAGGNAGIA – Leader of the Socialist Bloc has addressed her supporters from quarantine at home. She congratulated everyone with Baggnagian Reunification and the power transfer by the Military Council of Baggnagia to the Constituent Assembly of Baggnagia. This means that Baggnagia has now come closer and almost near a finish line to having a civilian government. The declaration of democratic elections (with possible parliamentary and presidential elections happening back to back) has been presented as a sign of this according to Čérny. Leader of the Socialist Bloc credits herself, her father and her party for organizing pro-democracy nationwide marches in South Baggnagia during the leadership of the Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia. This then continued from abroad during the self-exile of the Čérny family and the Socialist Bloc party members. There was also a recent Pro-Democracy March in Jugac which encouraged for people to rise up in North and South Baggnagia nationwide. Sylva Čérny credits all of these separate chapters of the same struggle as the reason why there’s not going to be a military rule in united Baggnagia and why there are going to be elections. She said that the movement led by the Socialist Bloc has pressured the Military Council of Baggnagia to step aside. Now that future elections have been announced in Baggnagia (first joint elections since division) Sylva Čérny has announced the launch of her campaign for the candidacy of President of Baggnagia from the Socialist Bloc in the presidential election. With much excitement she also announced the run of her party in the parliamentary election.

Forced Withdrawal: ACREFOR Mission, Bases, Military Personnel And Missile Systems Evacuated From Baggnagia Over Virus, While Military Doctors Stay

State Of Emergency (Quarantine): Day 3 (Going Into Day 4)

Active Cases: 12 (Being Treated)

Military evacuation.

As a result of 2 unplanned National Defense Council meetings, the Department of Security of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia has announced that Sunrisia’s military presence in Baggnagia would be evacuated. The reason for such a drastic decision is unsurprisingly the RETRIT-20/PVAX-20 Virus, which Baggnagia is currently one of the world’s hot spots for, even though the Ventismarian country fortunately only has 20 cases right now. 12 cases in Sunrisia, which are currently being treated and which have forced the country to go into a State of Emergency and Quarantine, have been brought over by Sunrisian humanitarians from Baggnagia. Therefore, President Addél Dîlectên had called-up a meeting, where such a decision were to be discussed. The head of state/commander-in-chief did so with pressure from the Convet of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia, especially the Egress Alliance, which supports withdrawal from everywhere and isolation from everything, roughly speaking. Other parties have spoke in favor of alternatives, limited measures or cut-down measures. Lawmaker pressure forced the President into calling up the first National Defense Council meeting to discuss such an intention. Afterwards, the Constituent Assembly of Baggnagia, which took over from the Military Council of Baggnagia as a provisional government and announced democratic elections today, was contacted by the Dîlectên administration to be informed of such intentions. President Addél Dîlectên personally participated in the talks. With the expression of understanding from the Baggnagian side, the National Defense Council gathered for a second meeting called up by the President. The decision was made to evacuate all ACREFOR peacekeepers and therefore end the ACREFOR mission, evacuate all military personnel stationed in Baggnagia, close Sunrisian military bases, including withdrawing the Sunrisian share of the joint military facilities with Baggnagian armed forces, and remove 2 ballistic missile defense systems that were relocated to Baggnagia from other parts of Ventismar. This would also render the sub-unified combatant commands of Sunrisian Forces – Baggnagia (SFB) and the Joint Task Force (JTF) with Baggnagian armed forces – “inactivated.” The only Sunrisian military “assets” remaining in Baggnagia would be military doctors helping fight the virus in the country.

Minister of International Relations of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Vénî Adsécĕr said:

Although this is an urgent evacuation, we are happy to see that Baggnagia is now peaceful, whole and pursuing a democratic future, as we had observed a peaceful power transfer today from the Military Council of Baggnagia to the Constituent Assembly of Baggnagia. Also today, first joint democratic elections had been declared in the newly-reunified Baggnagia in a long time. Considering this, we feel that Sunrisia’s job in Baggnagia has been done, however, we will be ready to support the Baggnagian people further. However, now is the time, when we must unfortunately take action to put forth quarantine as a priority strategy and limit contact or wider presence, in order to contain the spread, while we are also fighting the disease. We are not leaving the Baggnagian people behind or on their own, as our military doctors will be ready to aid the country in fighting the epidemic on its’ soil.

Meanwhile, Minister of Security of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Vîsár Inpétăs has said that Sunrisian withdrawal from Baggnagia does not mean an end to Sunrisia’s commitment to the defense and security of Baggnagia, as the Mutual Defense Treaty (Sunrisia–Baggnagia) remains in force. The Minister also mentioned that one of the ballistic missile defense systems being removed from Baggnagia and Ventismar would be relocated to New Vesvai.

Baggnagia expresses understanding towards the military withdrawal of Sunrisia and thanks it for all it has done

JUGAC, BAGGNAGIA – Sunrisia has decided to evacuate its ACREFOR peacekeeping mission, its troops and bases from Baggnagia. This decision was made over the Novell Virus and how Baggnagia is unfortunately one of the source areas of it in the world. Sunrisia itself has 12 cases right now and they were brought over by Sunrisians coming back from Baggnagia. They were mostly humanitarians. To keep bringing over the virus from Baggnagia and stopping its spread Sunrisia had decided to militarily leave Baggnagia. Their diplomats motivated the decision by the fact that Baggnagia is now stabilized, reunified and moving in a democratic direction. So for the most part Sunrisian goals had been accomplished by their own declaration. Prior to making a decision to leave the Sunrisians informed the Constituent Assembly of the decision. Baggnagian provisional government voiced full understanding with Sunrisian decision and thanked the country for everything it has done for Baggnagians. This is not the end because Sunrisia declared that its military doctors would remain to help Baggnagia combat Novell Virus on Baggnagian territory. The Mutual Defense Treaty between both nations also remains intact so Baggnagian security interests are not being put at risk here.

Minister Of International Relations Vénî Adsécĕr Appoints New Special Envoys

State Of Emergency (Quarantine): Day 4

Active Cases: 12 (Being Treated)

Minister of International Relations of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia Vénî Adsécĕr has appointed new Special Envoys. Reportedly, it was done at the request of President Addél Dîlectên as part of his continued strategy of appointing new officials at all ranks of the current Sunrisian administration. The President said earlier that he would keep the Special Envoys around for longer, because they are working with special cases of international dilemmas, where it would be irresponsible to replace them in the middle of the process. However, the head of state later said the Special Envoys would be replaced and apparently the time has now come. Unlike with other officials, like the Cabinet of Ministers for example, these appointment do not require approval from the Convet of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia.

Emissaries:

  • Sávî Prīmâ – New Emissary for Alternative Contacts (EAC) of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia. Replacing: Mánâ Sûrcér.

  • Esécăs Abstántâ – New Emissary for Adversary Exchanges (EAE) of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia. Replacing: Cálêr Ustrīnâ.

Designated Diplomatic Agents:

  • Cáifâ Intégerâ – New Designated Diplomatic Agent (DDA) of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia for Daredland Negotiations. Replacing: Suâv Ambústên.

  • Sûdér Vênébî – New Designated Diplomatic Agent (DDA) of the Nationalist Republic of Sunrisia for the Montedoran Stabilization. Replacing: Altér Sódálî.

In other news:

Troops of ex-North Baggnagian armed forces stage mutiny over refusal to disarm

Image

JUGAC, BAGGNAGIA – Soldiers from the ex-North Baggnagian armed forces (that were known as the North Baggnagian Holy Army) are staging a nationwide mutiny. The rebellion by the military has been caused by the demand towards them to disarm, disintegrate and integrate into the Baggnagian Protection Army (successor to South Baggnagian Protection Army). The demand was put forth by the Constituent Assembly of Baggnagia (provisional government). The military uproar gained momentum in the northern parts of the nation. That’s not surprising considering that it’s the place of service and also where ex-North Baggnagian troops live. The epicenter of their displeasure was Silcenda (ex-capital of Baggnagia and ex-capital of the ex-nation of North Baggnagia). That’s where they had declared mutiny. But now those armed forces are reported to be heading south. They had already reached Neodvisni. Now they are moving towards capital Jugac. That’s where the Constituent Assembly is based which initially gave the order that caused the uproar and mutiny declaration. Mutiny soldiers want to show their protest directly to the Constituent Assembly as they’re now declaring. In fact outside lawful permission to do so the mutiny soldiers have been taking over prisons where other ex-North Baggnagian troops are held. They’re attempting to boost the numbers of mutiny participants.

The Constituent Assembly of Baggnagia is not ready for this mutiny. The military governments of North and South Baggnagia dealt with the issue more effectively. The process of keeping ex-North Baggnagian troops complacent was a success. After Baggnagian Reunification the Military Council further declared that the ex-North Baggnagian armed forces would be disarmed and integrated into the Baggnagian Protection Army. There was some dissatisfaction but nothing out of the ordinary. But now it seems that the Constituent Assembly is losing control of the process. This may have happened because it’s seen as a weaker leadership than what the Military Council was so it can be bullied around easier. The Military Council may have also been at fault for giving up power to the Constituent Assembly too early. The new leadership has not had time effectively take control yet so the rebelling troops are using this moment of weakness. They don’t fear the Constituent Assembly like they did the Military Council. The Constituent Assembly meanwhile appears to have bitten off more than it can chew. It has chosen a bad moment to push forward the disarmament of the ex-North Baggnagian forces. That was the final trigger for the mutiny. And now those rebelling soldiers are heading towards Jugac with lack of clarity of what’s going to happen later. We will continue following the story and bring the latest updates as they happen. With quarantine also being in place in Baggnagia over the Novell Virus the rebelling military is having a much easier time advancing through deserted Baggnagia.

Vesvai’s Part Of The Union Of Oblaren And Vesvai To Vote On Leaving The Rhodeve Commonwealth

Vesvai’s First Minister Jonathan Mollisal spoke before the local Parliament of Vesvai’s part of the Union of Oblaren and Vesvai. He declared that Vesvai’s half of the Union will formalize its announced exit from the Rhodeve Commonwealth with a vote by local Parliament. Until that day of making a historic decision comes Vesvai’s local MPs will have plenty of time to discuss and think. First Minister Jonathan Mollisal shared with his colleagues that the largest opponent of this move Governor-General Andrew Gaileta has been changing his tune. Gaileta was offered the position of Vesvai’s Deputy First Minister which could additional come with him leading one of the Cabinet Ministries in Vesvai’s local government. This position or even double position would give Gaileta more powers by comparison than just being a ceremonial Governor-General formerly of the Dominion of Vesvai and now Vesvai’s part of the Union of Oblaren and Vesvai. So it seems like Gaileta will be accepting that deal according to the First Minister.

On other reactions First Minister Jonathan Mollisal declared that understanding came from The United Sovereign Kingdoms of Rhodevus and also respect of this decision. The First Minister made it clear that he committed Vesvai to promoting an allied relationship between the Union of Oblaren and Vesvai together with members of the Rhodeve Commonwealth. Mollisal said that Queen Diana Wolff may formally no longer be the monarch of Vesvai but that she will forever hold a special place in Vesvaians hearts. So will the nations of the Commonwealth whom had been declared family of Vesvai’s people. It also remains a known fact that the Union of Oblaren and Vesvai would remain members of ROVAA together with Rhodevus. The strategic partnership would be retained. Prior to uniting Oblaren and Vesvai were both members of ROVAA so there’s no conflict or contradiction for the entire Union to remain a member of ROVAA. But only Vesvai was additionally a member of the Rhodeve Commonwealth while Oblaren was not and that’s where the contradiction came from. To keep the Union whole Vesvai’s half decided to sacrifice its Commonwealth membership while planning to promote developed allied relations between the Oblaren and Vesvai Union and Commonwealth member nations.

The specific date of the vote at Vesvai’s local Parliament is still to be announced.
