Update: Every time the Byzantines attack me, I feel less and less bad about 1453. Unrelated to the above, but still relevant.

The more one plays CK2 the more they sympathize with the Venetians tbh.

See, I'm the exact opposite. When it comes to blobs I very much like Purple Blob.

Personally I like me empires to be elective and have my relatives as kings of the various kingdoms.

I'd love to try this but I know those idiots will die without sons and their daughters will inherit the throne and then it'll go to her kid with some fucking duke whose heir will then get both titles, thus messing up my vassal map when the King of Egypt is also the Duke of Croatia and the King of Croatia can't do shit about it because I disabled wars and Egypt has better levies anyway.

Personally I like to have an iron grip on my empires. Max centralization, viceroy duchies, no council power.

Does your council have authority on that matter? They may not be in favour of it. Could be favours being used by a malcontent council member

Sometimes it can be beneficial, but depends on the empire you roll with. Ive not had a good genocide campaign in stellaris for a while, might do a fanatical purifier run soon.

I don't do genocide campaigns because there's little point to it, imo, but I do ensure that the core species has a privileged position. Ultimately I'd say I don't like the comparison between alien species and human races, the level of difference is really quite immense such that the comparison makes no sense.

I love viceroy kingdoms, but I don't think I've ever used viceroy duchies. They seem like such a hassle to me.
