While I agree that saying that this a biological weapon is ridiculous, such claims only came from China after prominent American figures suggested this to be the case, with the origins reversed of course. I suspect the Chinese accusations are more of a childish 'no you' than an actual belief, but it is important to remember that accusations of biological warfare originated in America, and are, as you say, a downright lie.

The worry is that there will be a second wave. It’s already happening in Hong Kong. There’s fear that if the restrictions are lifted there will be another larger wave of this thing.
