so I was curious about something:

I wanted to see how much corona, if it was 10 times as bad as it is right now in Britain, would actually be. So the UK had about 170 deaths when I last looked, and it goes up by about 50 a day, to be generous to the virus. Last year, half a million people died in England alone. A quarter of those people died of cancer, 125000 people. If 70 people died every day it would equate to 25550 deaths per year, about 1/5 that of cancer. If 700 people died per year in Britain from the virus, it would equate to about the same amount of deaths as heart disease and stroke. This is also the amount of deaths that were predicted by the governments computer modelling should we do absolutely nothing about it.

Think: we are sacrificing our eeconomy for probably the rest of the year in order to prevent the sort of numbers of deaths we would shrug our shoulders at if they came from any other source. The only reason we have such an overblown response to this virus is that it is new.

All of mine have passed away except for one, being that I'm approaching 31 soon. She is in a nursing home where realistically speaking, she is nothing more than a burden because her body has broken down on her if she is in 90+ range. She is entitled to live there because she is using the money that was gotten from selling her house when she couldn't live there anymore, practically speaking. But I can guarantee that she'd be kicked out or abandoned as soon as that money ran out. Unless she were able to be covered by Medicaid.

Not quite. It means things are going roughly as expected. It's still to early to tell if it worked or not - they're starting to remove their restrictions now, so we'll see if they get a new outbreak.

Frank should get the first priority in my view. He is the closest to prime physical and reproductive age and can readily do military service if not become employed because they're still young enough to have the lack of a good resume be justifiable.

Frank is 19 and will be fine. But if he gets sick with Coronavirus, chances are he can’t enter the military. And he certainly cannot have sex for a while. Even so, Frank will recover without one, most of the time. He just needs to stay home and rest. Maria may need it if she has underlying conditions, or if she’s immunocompromised, but otherwise her age means she’s still not really in the danger zone. Sofia probably won’t even get Coronavirus (I’ve noticed this virus seems to skip children or makes them asymptomatic carriers). Giuseppe needs the ventilator. He won’t live without it. When pneumonia hits the elderly, it can be deadly. Source? I’ve watched it happen. Your answer just shows you would rather pay attention to worshipping some fantasy of male virility than to the reality of illness.

That's exactly what we're trying to do, slow down the spread of the virus so hospitals aren't overwhelmed by the number of sick people.

Because the infection over time figures are hopelessly unreliable due to the limitations of testing at present. The death rates are a reasonable proxy for what the infection rate was a week ago, which is better than nothing.

Supposedly those will happen if theres already an huge amount of immunes but the economy being hopelessy wrecked and structures being too in the gutter.

According to what I've read, there are indeed a large number of individuals who are immune to the effects of the corona virus and do not develope any symptoms.

I would like to believe I'm one of them but after reading about what counts as a "pre-existing condition that could put you at risk for COVID killing you," and seeing that asthma as a child counts, I realized I actually may not survive the pandemic, which has shaken me to the core. I'm not gonna lie, I almost cried realizing I may actually die, because while my life is a pile of festering trash in a dumpster fire, I don't wanna end up in coffin for real.
