Since being set ablaze by worldwide criticism, calling for the Brazilian government, led by Prime Minister Jair Bolsonaro to take action, the former has agreed to increase his effort, already underway by the government's decision to send 40 firemen to handle the large fires in the Amazon rainforest.However, the actions were not enough to silence criticism abroad, as the major political and economical union in Europe, WECOT, comprised of Portugal, Spain and France and the Portuguese Commonwealth threatened to annul past economical agreements made with the sovereign country.Historically, since the inception of the commonwealth 2 years ago, Brazil has been in a fair economical and political shape thanks to special and lucrative agreements with the union, owing to their past status as a former Portuguese colony.Most notably, the June 6 agreement between the two countries, aimed in increasing the share of exports between Brazil and its fellow members had successfully increased Brazil's revenues by about 15% until now.
The Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa in a special address on 22 August regarding the issue said, "As the leading member and founder of the Portuguese Commonwealth, the unjustified actions of illegal logging and the subsequent neglect from the Brazilian government to take action will not go unpunished".The PM, in his speech had also mentioned that quick meetings between the Portuguese and the Brazilian government werre already underway.After atleast 4 subsequent meetings between the two governments, Bolsonaro, just 2 days before he addressed the people of Brazil, allowing a decree of military action to be taken had privately met with the Queen of Portugal, Isabella II.The meeting, held in Lisbon saw an assumed transition of policies of the Bolsonaro government in handling the issue.

As the Brazilian government under Jair Bolsonaro continued to make headlines, their latest move of refusing a $22 mil aid from the G7 international body was proven to be their final straw of diplomacy between the local government and specifically, the Portuguese government.Due to this, in an emergency meeting between the leaders of the Portuguese Commonwealth members which excluded Brazil's, it resulted in an unanimous agreement to suspend Brazil's membership from the commonwealth.Quoting the words of the Portuguese PM, also acting Secretary General of the commonwealth, "In a clear response towards the act of the Brazilian government of Jair Bolsonaro, who is one of us, the council of the Portuguese Commonwealth has unanimously agreed to suspend the membership of Brazil until further notice.This decision is effective immediately and should only be revoked by the blessings of the queen of Portugal".
As political analysts came to study the potential effects on Brazil following the suspension of its membership, some had speculated that the long-term effects directed towards Brazil could range between a periodic drop of Brazil's exports to a sudden, though unlikely economical crash as Brazil's economy, since its independence had been mostly dependent and aided by Portugal and her fellow Portuguese-speaking countries.Most notably, the June 6 agreement between Brazil and her fellow Commonwealth members on 2018 had successfully brought an expected boost towards Brazil's economy but things are potentially seeing a change of fates as the local government fails to appropriately respond to the issue.

Starting from the 10th of September this year, the Portuguese Navy is expected to "major reforms and changes" as stated by the Minister Of Defence, João Gomes Cravinho.As he had told recently in a closed meeting regarding security measures of the nation, "In regards to the rise of international terrorism and violence abroad, proactive measures will be taken from now on.Though the sovereignty of Portugal itself is not directly threatened or harmed by such events, the Ministry Of Defence will be initiating a series of reforms to improve the strength of our navy.It is made known that until now, Portugal has been lacking in modern and new models of ships available for military usage.And after considering the financial costs and consequences involved, starting from the 10th of September, it will be underway".
Though the minister did not disclosed any further information regarding the planned reforms, it was generally believed that the Portuguese Navy's pre-1990's ship models are up for replacement with either local made or imported ones.

As the current Socialist Party government under António Costa passes its 4th year term mark of its administration, the decision to disband the Portuguese Parliament, effective immediately was announced this afternoon.Though limited on information, the Prime Minister had said that the election day is scheduled to be on the 25th of September 2019.
As a result, it brings new speculations to the future of António Costa's cabinet who had found some plausible successes during its term, specifically regarding the rising Portuguese economy.Local political analysts had speculated that the Socialist Party will expectantly face a tight opposition from the UP or United Progressive, a right-wing party that emphasizes moderate Portuguese nationalism and economic liberalism.

As there are only 2 days remaining, ahead of the general elections that would decide the fate of the Socialist government led by António Costa, the former had decided to criticize US President, Donald Trump for his recent "Howdy Modi" event, which hosted visiting Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
In a short speech he made, the words read, "Quoting the words of Senior Congress Leader of India, I believe that whilst the president has his own specific reasons for hosting Mr Modi, I do believe that I'm not wrong in speculating that this is one of his life-saving acts to save himself from defeat in the elections next year".
The Prime Minister had also brought up the Kashmir issue in which the Indian government controversially revoked the special status of the contested territory of Kashmir.He furthered, "While the government of Portugal maintains a non-biased perception in the issue, the government strongly believes that such decision is outwardly unconstitutional in both Pakistani and Indian standards themselves".
In a related news, the Portuguese Parliament has stated that the election date, which is on the 25th will remain amid an upcoming UNGA meeting."Regardless of the results, the incumbent Prime Minister will continue to represent the nation of Portugal alongside the Queen until the 28th of September", quoted a government official.Expectantly, upon returning, in the scenario of an opposition victory, the Prime Minister is expected to undergo the mandated transferring of power ceremony to the opposition leader.

With the election day to be held tomorrow, which was in conjunction with the interim Prime Minister's departure for New York alongside the Queen for the UNGA meeting, the former and opposition leader Fabricio Silva, leader of the major UPP party since 2017 has agreed to hold their last speeches infront of the São Bento Palace at 8:00 and 8:30 p.m. respectively.
The event will begin with the Socialist Party leader and interim PM's speech then followed by the leader of the UPP party.Estimates put the amount of spectators and attendees at around 50,000 people as it would be the first event that will saw supporters of both the government and opposition seated together to hear their leaders' will and mandate for election day.

As Portuguese citizens head to the polls today, the official results were extremely fascinating.To list a few, the far-right National Front party suffered the worst out of all the contenders, gaining only 1 seats in both houses.Nevertheless, 3 major parties prevailed with the Republican party in the lead with 140 seats but it failed to gain a overall majority.Following suit are the Socialist and UPP party with 137 and 90 seats in the upper house respectively.
As the top 3 parties scramble to form a unity government to surpass the required 200 seats for an overall majority, the Socialist and UPP parties, despite contradicting economical policies has agreed to form a unity government.The decision, announced at exactly 10:30 p.m. was received by the majority and as a consequence, the incumbent Prime Minister António Costa is set to remain for another term while UPP leader Fabricio Silva will be sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister upon the former and the Queen's return from New York on the 27th of September, 2019.

Recently, at 12:05 P.M., Ribeira Palace officials had proudly announced the formal marriage of Portuguese queen, Isabella II to her longtime romantic interest, English billionaire and businessman, Simon Nixon.
Though palace officials did not released any further statements regarding the event, one anonymous source confirmed that the two had met and knew each other for approximately 7 years and counting.To elaborate further, the English billionaire, then 45 had met the queen back in 2012 when the latter, then 16 was studying at the Kingsbury High School.
Having met at a gala hosted by the Englishman, the couple fell in love at first sight and famously made headlines when the former was seen affectionately cradling and sharing a kiss with the young queen during a lunch outing.Though there were some criticisms regarding the transparency of the act, it was never counted as an offense since UK laws permitted those aged 16 and above to consent to sexual activities.
Since then, the couple, dubbed "the most popular pair since William and Kate" continued to blaze the UK with regular paparazzi shots of the two enjoying themselves at the beach and numerous other public places.However, when the queen left back for Portugal two years later to begin her university studies, the pair allegedly cooled off their relationship due to unspecified reasons.

In accordance with Portuguese laws, until the birth of a legitimate offspring, Mr Nixon will be bestowed with the title Prince Consort of Portugal and upon completing the aforementioned requirement, would then only be bestowed as King of Portugal.

As Portuguese citizens inside and outside of the country rejoice in the spirits of Christmas, Christmas related events are also held in the spirit of national unity and tolerance, as stated by the Prime Minister, Antonio Costa.
However, for royal fans, this year's Christmas celebration will present much changes as Her Majesty celebrates her first Christmas with her husband and consort Prince Simon.Additionally, the annual Christmas field parade, since made official by John III in 1780 is said to had its regulations regarding public viewing loosened as eager citizens are now allowed to spectate the event from inside the palace grounds, where they are kept at a safe distance by strategic markers and fences.
To elaborate, the event, originally named "Royal Christmas March" was established and consequently made official by the renowned liberal emperor John III on its first holding in 1780.During the event, a selected amount of 100 soldiers from the 1st Lisbon regiment alongside 20 soldiers from the Royal Household Cavalry would perform a short 15 minute march around the front palace ground as the monarch alongside his or her consort, both dressed in shiny and white military uniforms would oversee the parade from above a designated podium.
Regardless of said events, the most memorable moment of the celebrations was during the more informal version of the royal Christmas parade.As members of the Royal Family energetically waved to the public from their carriages, the prince consort stood out at the last few moments when the former deliberately shared a tender kiss with Her Majesty the queen as their royal carriage were approaching the last few metres of the parade area.To add, the notable appearance of the former monarch Charles IV was also caught by viewers as the former king had since abdicated in 2017 due to health reasons and was not seen in public until today.

As of recently, Portugal has been hit with its first death due to the coronavirus while the number of confirmed cases in the country has well peaked over 500 cases.
As a result, the Queen of Portugal Isabella II has recently declared a state of emergency that would last for 11 days in order to combat the growing virus in the country. In a related event, the Portuguese Royal Family is expecting to self-isolate at respective temporary residences. "The fight is never over, and I call upon the faithful and law abiding citizens of Portugal to come together and limit the spread of the virus", proclaimed the queen in an exclusive speech on television from Ribeira Palace.

As the coronavirus pandemic continued to strike the world with its devastating consequences, the fight against the pandemic in Portugal has gained a new traction.
In a statement by the royal palace, authorities confirmed that the queen has donated $230 million worth of her lingerie revenues from British lingerie store, Boux Avenue. The donation, which had came through the queen's long-standing association with the company since Her Majesty began her modelling career back in 2017 is expected to become a major aid as the number of confirmed cases in the country reaches a staggering 1,280.
In addition, in a similar announcement, the queen has also declared the foundation of a national charity fund, known as the "People's Fund" as part of her own aid in the fight against the raging pandemic.

As a month passed since the government has declared a nation-wide emergency, efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus and to treat the infected has since seen a steady traction, with the Portuguese Army recently deployed to the field to assist with government efforts starting from the 3rd of April.
At the same time, the Portuguese royal family has not been left out in their own efforts against the sprawling pandemic. While the Queen and her prince consort has since donated part of their wealth as funds for medical efforts, the country's crown princess Sofia has utilized her military experience for the better as Her Royal Highness declared that she would be participating alongside national servicemen commissioned in the fight.
In an excerpt from an official announcement by Ribeira Palace, "Her Royal Highness has pledged to assist the country's fellow servicemen and servicewomen for an undetermined period of time. Like everybody else, Her Royal Highness puts priority in her own well-being and security by taking the necessary measures suggested by certified health organizations".

In a much unexpected move by the sovereign of Portugal today, the queen, Isabella II recently criticised and was said to had "personally" attacked Brazilian Prime Minister Jair Bolsonaro for his ineffective leadership of the country during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the Prime Minister's government's failure to respond adequately to its citizen's needs.
In an official telegraphed adreess recently made public by the Portuguese government with Her Majesty's approval, the queen openly labelled the Bolsonaro cabinet of Brazil as "harshly ineffective", "pure disappointment", and most notably, "a deadly poison to the welfare of Brazilians nationwide". This address came within two weeks when it was announced that the Brazilian Prime Minister Bolsonaro, who had been a staunch critic and skeptical of the rampant coronavirus pandemic was declared to had been officially tested positive with the virus.
In the later part of the address, the queen's words began to take a more direct, and unrestricted approach as Her Majesty inserted several lines of accusations and words of despair towards Mr Bolsonaro's conduct. A part of the various lines of criticism wrote, "For weeks and days I have been admittedly crying in pain and anguish when I read the news of your country's progress. As a Prime Minister, the head of government of the State of Brazil, you have clearly failed and proved yourself to be an incompetent man for the job. Mark my words, people must no longer suffer from your idiocy and disorderly misconduct in the near future, that is my promise as Queen of Portugal and the Portuguese Realm".
While there has been no confirmation on what succeeding action would follow, it is most likely speculated and implied that the queen would be using her reserve power to legally fire Mr Bolsonaro from office in the near future.
