Her father was always away in the military, and her mothers hands-off approach meant that parental restriction wasn't really something she had been accustomed to growing up: though she learnt at home, she did most of her living in the huge city of Valentu that surrounded her home and the countryside around it. That was where she learnt to hunt both with a gun and a bow, where she learnt how to charm people, learnt how to drink and engage in behaviour most unbecoming of nobility also. It was in the regular training given to all velsturmen however, where she learnt to fight. She proved, as in all things, quite adept at it, earning her a short tour of official duty just after her 15th birthday, helping to quell a rebellion. She performed excellently as a member of her infantry unit, though was not the hero of the whole war of course: she returned home with comendations at the end of her 3-month vacation paid for by the military. Her future was and still is bright: soldier, statesman, businesswoman, all are laid out before her...but it was still not enough. Aside from in the stifling atmosphere of her mothers foreign affairs visits, which she regularly accompanied her on, Suuentliok had never left her homeland; this was something she wished she'd done many times, not understanding the fact that her mother regularly liked to attend official functions in sun-kissed islands that lasted a day...for 3 weeks...simply as a way for a free long holiday.
