I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

Fun* fact, Sengoku was the first Paradox game I played. It plays pretty much like you would expect it to: like a fiercely mediocre demo for vanilla CK2. Go with the CK2 conversion mod Naz posted instead.

As my Russian game will be coming to a close soon, I'll need something new to try. Send recommendations; if I find them interesting I might try it out. Be creative!

You hate nomads right? If not play the Bolghars in 867 or 936 and migrate to Sicly (through Italy) and Serbia (through Hungary).
Or try one of the Emirates in Afghanistan/Central Asia, A custom Nestorian duchy there could be really interesting.

I hate them as neighbors and enemies. I've only tried play Nomads once, though. Didn't get familiar with the mechanics but I suppose I can always try again.

Or try one of the Emirates in Afghanistan/Central Asia, A custom Nestorian duchy there could be really interesting.

Nestorian is probably the toughest religion to play, hands down. They only have one good ruler throughout the entire game, some Mongol Khagan running Persia around the 1200s I think. Only other options are some Karluks in the early start dates and of course the infamous Duchy of Socotra. Their largest concentration of provinces in any start date is, unfortunately, in core Sunni territory and is entirely Assyrian yet there are 0 Nestorian Assyrian rulers in the game. Their holy sites are mostly comprised in the MidEast with one being in Persia and another being all the way in Southern India.

Could it be interesting? Sure. But it'd be hard as fuck - especially in Afghanistan if the Ghaznavids pop up. Socotra would probably be easier.

Try a minority religion in the Abbasid caliphate, 769 start. Some starts I would reccomend are emir Pakhom bashmur of Damietta, a reference to a Leo Tolstoy story and the only landed Coptic Miaphysite in the game, the Rawandi count of Esfahan, a Mazdaki Persian on the richest provinces of the region, any of the myriad Zoroastrians in the Persian region, or maybe the one Monothelite up in the Levant. All of thse are pretty difficult starts, save for the Esfahan and Damietta ones, as both frequently fall under the purview of an Abbasid king tier vassal, limiting the size of your liege and allowing you to gain more power relative to them. The easiest one overall would be however the Emir of Damietta. At least IMO. In fact, all of this is my opinion, so don't take it as fact.

Now this, this is my grandest achievement in CK2 and in real life also. Lived 94 years (which is around twice the average age of my leaders). Started as Chief of Scania under the Petty Kingdom of Sjaelland. Raised himself to Jarl of Scania after the Sjaelland-Jylland war that united Denmark under Sjaelland. Became Hero of the Wolf Warriors and followed Rurik (his rival) to get a Heroic Bloodline. Raided the entire coast of Europe+some of Africa (special attention to Rome, Venice, Nice, and Westminster), dueled the King (and Jarl of Sjaelland) for all his claims at the age of 86 (The other guy was 45) and won Denmark in process. And became a Sea King at the ripe age of 93. He suffered from Lunacy and Cancer for the last 25 years of his life. He outlived all of his four children and most of their grandchildren, and was eventually succeeded by his great-grandson. The number of times I had to reload an earlier autosaves so this fucker wouldn't die before he got the Sea King bloodline is in the triple digits.

Had he lived just 16 years longer (which is, I think, not really common. He'd have been 110 years), he'd probably be the founder of an Ancestor Veneration bloodline too. Sadly, while he did lay the groundworks for the Nordic Reformation by taking control of Sjaelland and establishing a new Irminsule in Scania, it took his successor's successor (and great-grandson) Þorolfr II for that to become a reality. (The Reformation being Proselytizing + Ancestor Veneration/Sons of Ragnarok + Hierocratic)

I'm gonna to check my Slavic Union screenshots from thread VIII to verify whether or not I have acheived 2 bloodlines with one character. Note that I am not counting bloodlines earned posthumously (warrior lodge bloodline post-death by epic duel, sainthood, ancestor veneration).

-One screenshot check later

Well I have! Here's the relevant imgur album. As you can see, Ardent Blood of Commander and Immortal Blood of Alexander were both created by the same person, Dobroslava.

Also despite your election woes from a couple threads earlier, I will still believe in democracy. I mean, we could just impose a 'must be a regular on this thread' restriction, dispose of the secret ballot NS forum polls use (I'm pretty sure that they're results aren't open to analysis, unlike say, region polls) and instead vote via forum post.

Finally made Orthodoxy the Parent Religion again for the first time since the start of the game. Now I just need to capture Constantinople so the Ecumenical Patriarch will be Orthodox again. :p
