I've seen political elections get more heated than that. Nothing seems that over the line to me.

Also your region is named lasagna!

Yet no reference to it in the wfe or flag? Damn should at least put a Garfield reference or two in there.

I have been trying to create a newspaper whose logo is made. Its garfield in a lasagna. I saw it on the internet and got inspired. So the garfield references are coming.

Thanks for the advice :)

Against my better judgment, I read most of that RMB trail and my thoughts are -

1. It's pretty mild/routine stuff. Elections get heated, players get defensive when called out, yadda yadda. That said, you don't want to tear your region apart over it. Everyone involved needs to take a deep breath, step back, and re-engage with the understanding that it's just a simulation in a political game. Treat it as such. A quality elected official should be able to defend their record with a cool head and engage in debate respectfully. De-escalate and refocus on why you, your party, or vision is best for the region moving forward. Don't take the bait to escalate, especially don't use personal attacks or break character. Nobody should be breaking character in an IC argument. Nobody should be shouting (using all caps lock). If a region can't handle a civil debate on merit alone, it can't handle elections and needs to adopt a different form of government until such time that it can handle them.

2. Your region would benefit greatly from having an admin team / Gamemaster / etc. that sets the rules for engagement on the RMB and RP. A team that is strictly OOC / not an elected government of the region is important for setting the standards of what is allowed and not allowed to take place. Reading the posts, I get strong Lord of the Flies vibes like there is no responsible adult in charge there. People need to engage within the rules, follow the rules, respect the rules. Anything deemed unacceptable behavior needs to be shut down. Some neutral player or entity must command this type of authority and respect to achieve that. If you already have a team for that, they are not doing their job.

3. You want to keep all conduct within NS rules. Don't tell people you have game moderator support as leverage, that is using mods as weapons and isn't allowed. Players shouldn't be making personal attacks and potentially wandering off into flaming or trolling territory. Again, this is what regional admin is for. You can of course always go to the NS mods if you need them to intervene in rule breaking behavior, but it often isn't the best way to handle situations.

4. Your region name makes me hungry. The Vinny must now consume someone.

You're saying it's normal that players get this kind of defensive. Wow I've played NS on several nations before but never saw this side of NS

Wow that's an untrustworthy friend...

The problem here is a combined issue of democracy and, as Vinny said, a lack of responsible people in a charge to actually internally moderate your discourse... Ideally though, if you don't want regional infighting, don't be a democracy :p
