Why is it that you have to update the webpage just to see new replies ?
What if there was a notification every time you were quoted ?

1. That's because NS is very old (2002) on the back end, written by an author pretending to be a programmer, and maintained by a small handful of unpaid, part-time volunteers who have other real jobs.
2. If you're talking about RMB quoting, there already is. Go to Notices and then Subscriptions to enable it. If you're talking about forum quoting, that cannot happen because the game (issues, regions, WA etc) and the forums are completely separate on the backend (They even have separate servers iirc).

I wonder what it would take to get these people paid and supplemented with full time professionals.
How can you add stuff to monetize without taking way from others,
Pay for larger gifs and all that?
Pay for customizable titles ?
Pay for cloud storage data beyond initial ?

If this game is to remain free.
Maybe raise funds then invest them in such a way where you get a constant flow of income.
