Moral Dilemmas
Will an average citizen kill one person to save five? Maybe, but after agonizing for a long long time.
- If no, will they do it if they were making someone else kill them? Probably, after some agonizing.
Will they sacrifice themselves to save 2 others? Yes.
If they had to kill one of two people, and one is begging to be killed to save the other, which will they kill? The one that is begging to die.
If an endangered animal was about to kill a citizen, would they kill the animal? Most likely.
- If no, what if a person of high authority was getting attacked? That doesn't matter.
- if yes, what if the animal was an endling? No.
If a person who saved 2 lives before was trying to kill someone, would they allow it? No.
- If yes, what if they only saved one persons? n/a
- If no, how many people would they have to save beforehand to get allowance? Even if the potential murder had prevented omnicide, a Voxijan would still call the police/intervene in some other way.

City Watch & Sheriffs
Is there a civilian police force, or is law enforcement the province of the military? The Military has it's own military police but only has jurisdiction over civilians in a national emergency.
Is the police force a nationalized one, or are there multiple regional forces? There is the Royal Vallermoorian Police. at a national level.
How militant or vigilante are they? Are they usually or ever armed?:
It depends on the situation and the crime committed. If something serious happens, or if one of their own is killed, hurt, or seriously threatened, they come down hard, but most officers know not to be unpleasant most of the time. They have batons, handcuffs, tazers, pistols and, for emergencies against heavily armed criminals, AK 47s.
What is the extent of their authority? Can they shoot you? Can they use magic? Can they torture or otherwise force a confession? Can they use telepathy?:

They can shoot someone who has a gun and is shooting at them or others or refuses to put the gun down, and the same with other kinds of weapons. They can tazer/baton someone who is violent and resisting arrest. Torture and forcing confessions is banned as that tends to cause wrongful confessions, and telepathy is not OK as evidence in court. Sapient ponies can use the magic from their horns to hold things/suspects.
Are there individuals or groups who are above the law? De jure-only the Queen of Vallermoore, with the exception of one very strange old law, and diplomats (who if they start committing serious crimes can be booted out of the country.) De facto-Clever One (who is our President) and certain Mafia bosses who are careful when it comes to crimes.
Is there a secret police?: No
What is the role of police informants, if any?: They are got for tipping off police about when robberies are to take place, although they rarely testify directly.

Is the grading scale the same throughout your nation? Yes.
If so, what is the grading scale in schools throughout your nation?

Montevento uses different grade systems according to the grade of a student.

Primary School (Basic education, from ages 6 to 12)
Primary school grading is based on letters and small phrases:

E - Eccezionale (Outstanding): Awarded only to very distinguished works (100%)
EC - Eccellente (Excellent): Denotes an almost excellent job, with few errors (90% - 100%)
MB - Molto Bene (Very Good): Denotes the student has more than enough knowledge to pass (70% - 80%)
B - Bene (Good): Denotes an the student has enough knowledge to pass (60% - 70%)
A - Accettabile (Acceptable): Barely enough to pass, needs to improve (50% - 60%)
D - Deficiente (Deficient): Not enough to pass (<50%)

Secondary School (Intermediate education, from ages 13 to 18)
Secondary school switches to a numeric scale with a word:

12 - Eccezionale (Outstanding): 95% - 100%
11 - Eccellente (Excellent): 90% - 95%
10 - Ottimo lavoro (Very good job): 85% - 90%
9 - Ottimo lavoro (Very good job): 80% - 85%
8 - Ottimo lavoro (Very good job): 75% - 80%
7 - Bene (Good): 70% - 75%
6 - Accettabile (Acceptable): 60% - 70%
5 to 0- Deficiente (Deficient): <60%

Universities and all tertiary education
Universities use the same numeric scale as secondary schools, but have different percentages. A letter scale is also used.

12 - EEE: 98% - 100%
11 - EEMB: 96% - 98%
10 - EMBMB: 93% - 96%
9 - MBMBMB: 90% - 93%
8 - MBMBB: 86% - 90%
7 - MBBB: 82% - 86%
6 - BBB: 77% - 82%
5 - BBA: 72% - 77%
4 - BAA: 66% - 72%
3 - AAA: 60% - 66% -MINIMUM NEEDED TO PASS-
2 - AAD: 45% - 60%
1 - ADD: 25% - 45%
0 - DDD: 0% - 25%

If not, then what are the different grading scales used in your nation?
The scale used in the General Examinations uses the letters O, E, G, A, P and S, commonly known as the ŒGAPS scale (pronounced 'ee-gaps'). The letters stand for 'Outstanding' (95%), 'Excellent' (90%), 'Good' (80%), 'Acceptable' (65%), 'Passing' (50%) and 'Substandard' (sub 50%). Some schools use OEGAPF where F stands for Failing, although this is not common.

For the Exhibition Examinations, letters are not used, and instead the phrases improbatur (not approved), rite approbatur (duly approved) and cum laude approbatur (approved with praise) are used. Being rite approbatur does not guarantee one a place at university, however, and one must 'appeal' to a college to admit one.

In university, students graduate solely in the basis of examinations. Degrees are awarded rite (duly), cum laude (with praise), cum magna laude (with great praise) (only at the University of Rhise) and cum summa laude (with the highest praise). There is no strict numerical rule for such classes, and much depends on the judgment of individual examiners, deans, regent masters, dons and professours.

Are the citizens of your nation allowed to keep and bear arms, or any weapons?

Ordinary citizens when outside the cities and towns or when in their own homes, cars and businesses can legally carry guns up to the AK 47 level. In towns and cities it is more complicated. Most of them most of the time ban guns from being openly carried in the streets with the following exceptions.

-For police officers and on duty military.
-When one is just entering or just leaving a town.
-When one has just brought a gun and is going home with it.
-For properly licensed bodyguards.
-In a very few cases, for those who were offered witness protection but preferred a license to carry guns instead.
On Halloween, open gun carrying in town is encouraged to deal with the yearly Zombie Effect.

Certain places ban guns entirely-National Parks for all except rangers, schools and universities for all except teachers, prisons for all but guards, police stations for all but police, courts for all but judges and court bailiffs, airports for all but police.

Non firearms such as swords can be carried in most places.

On the other hand, grenades, RPGs, bombs and the like, along with pepper spray, is only allowed for the Military, and tazers are for police only.

Indigenous Population of the New Britannian State

Postby Britannia Maior » Fri Feb 14, 2020 4:00 am

Is the majority population indigenous to your nation?
Yes. The Britannian people (English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish, Manx, Cornish) are all native to the British Isles.
If yes:
Are they proud of their heritage?
The majority of Britons are indeed proud of their heritage and background.
Has there been a history of their oppression or removal from their land?
Unfortunately yes. Over the past millennium English rulers and leaders have committed genocides, forced displacement and wars on the other cultures of the Isles, something modern Britons disown or look down upon to.
Have they ever conquered or colonized other nation's indigenous populations?
Many, many nations have been subjugated, colonised or outright eradicated by British colonialism in the past. The United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and other polities came about as a result of British colonisation.
Overall, how much does your people's indigenous heritage affect them, politics, and the nation in general?
Significantly but not to an absurd sense. Pan-British nationalism remains a powerful ideology in the political arena and has been partially taken up by the ruling party.
