The national broadcaster. Australian Broadcasting Corporation = (the other) ABC

Good mix of State, National and International stories. Biased slightly left on some stories, and biased against whoever is in government.

ABC is generally the best Australian source. All the Murdoch and Fairfax sources are both in the same boat of corporate news.

Associated Press and NPR for just basic information most of the time, but I go alternative for certain topics, especially for perspectives, though I admit to left-wing bias. Not CNN or MSNBC, but Secular Talk, The Humanist Report, Chapo Trap House, etc.

ZeroHedge, TheHill.com, NYT and WSJ are my typical go-to websites.

I sometimes cross-reference them to others like Russia Today, Press TV, Fox News WaPo and MSNBC to get various other, more radical slants on the topics covered. CNN, CBS, NBC are all garbage so I don't waste my time with them.

Usually BBC (not America), El País, El Nuevo Día (to check on how things are where my mom and grandma live), La Nueva España (my hometown’s newspaper), and Asturies.com (http://asturies.com/).

Outside of local news affiliates their stuff is just slow to hit the presses, shallow and bland as hell and they pretend to be neutral when a lot of their articles are heavily biased. With MSNBC and Fox I know I'm getting biased coverage, but they don't conceal the fact....it's just as shallow as any of theirs but at least it provides some alternative interpretations due to the obvious partisan slant. WaPo goes way deeper than any of them in its reporting and NYT in my opinion is the gold standard for its articles, especially anything related to foreign countries. WSJ is good for finance and economics related matters and its opinion section is top-notch.

ZeroHedge is good for alternative news without the insanity of InfoWars, as are RT and PressTV. I typically use the latter two to check against the stuff relating to the Middle East.

I just realized I misspoke and referenced ABC rather than NBC in my original post. I actually like ABC quite a bit, they have good, generally unbiased articles...I'm going to edit my previous posts.

Sources I trust: Reuters and NHK World (English)

Sources I am iffy about: BBC, PBS News, ABC, and NBC

Sources I don't trust: Breitbart, Buzzfeed, CNN, Foxnews, Huffpost, Infowars, MSNBC, and RT.

For local news I watch my local ABC affiliate and when I want a nice laugh, I read the Onion.

The Fox 11 News at Nine (21:00). Also NationStates. I know no news source is totally objective, but even a cursory look at CNN's home page finds it loaded with minutiae and opinion pieces, almost as though a tabloid.

I generally watch either my local news service, or Sky News Australia. Sky News is good for the most part, although its opinion shows are usually heavily conservative-leaning.

I also watch a little CNN or BBC on occasion, with the very rare visit to Fox News just to see how pandering they are on a particular day.

Oh, and sometimes ABC or SBS have something interesting on, although I don't normally go to them for news.
