The Setting for The World Epic: 2020
Coming Soon - once we have enough players with enough histories, I’ll write about the roleplay’s settings.
Our Roleplay’s Rules
- 1.) Don’t godmod, powergame, metagame, commit any of their variants, or do anything similar
- 3.) Your in character posts must equal a 5 sentence paragraph at the absolute minimum. Every player is expected to be fluent in any dialect of English spelling and grammar. Your grammar does and spelling does not have to be perfect, nor do you have to have anything like graduate or postgraduate level literacy, but please run things through a spellchecker first. Netspeak isn’t allowed.
- 4.) Please label your posts with their location, or the location where parts of your post take place.
- 5.) In this RP, the current system for time is that it passes with every page being 3 months. To make sure that events aren’t skipped, we will be adding some fluid time to allow people to continue RPing their wars and meetings even as time passes. This means that you will need to tell us which part of your post is when if you use this system since you can post using fluid time for your wars, meetings, and other such things, post using normal time passing, or post using both.
- 6.) If you’re leaving the RP, or taking a temporary absence, please tell us.
- 7.) Play smartly, and remember there are consequences for things.
- 9.) Wars require a casus belli, and will be moderated/Non-Player Charactered by an admin. Wars include claims. Claims will be Non-Player Charactered not normal wars.
- 10.) Claims approved prior to the posting of this count as reservations

[box]Nation Application
Nation name in NS/TDR:
RP nation name:
Claim: Every nation in the RolePlay will have the ability for an initial claim on the RolePlay map. The initial claim may be larger than France, but if it is too large we will say something. The Korean Commonwealth and existent US territories are pushing the limit for example. If a country is large, but extremely poor and/or sparsely populated, it may be handled differently. This is a case-by-case basis to avoid people overpowering the rest of the board significantly.
Territorial Claims: (These are areas that your nation claims in-character, or otherwise want to claim, but don’t actually own themselves. What claims and expansions can we expect you to champion? Please note that this may cause territorial disputes.)
History/why you own the territory you do: All nations must be somewhat original. The name can stay, and so can many other things, but there must be something that makes it distinct from the real life version. You can do a lot with your application, so please do at least this minimum. At least two paragraphs for this, please.
Population:
Capital:
Government Ideology/Policies: (What ideas and concepts does your government adhere to with its ideologies and policies, what ideas and concepts do your people embrace, and carry out? Secularism, imperialism, expansionism, communism?)
Government Structure: (This is where a description of how your government functions goes. Perhaps your nation is a republic, a monarchy, or a theocracy. Is it democratic, autocratic, oligarchic, aristocratic? If you have voting, how does the voting system work? If you have hereditary power, how does inheritance work? Are there checks and balances that exist? If so, what are these? Is it federal, unitary, a confederacy? Elaborate on these questions in your answers, and add anything else that you think matters to describe your government structure)
Leaders: (Here, you can describe your leaders. Add a name, title, and optionally a short description of the people who run your country)
Ruling Party: (if any)
National Problems: (current (preferably major) issues, foreign and domestic. Please include at least two)
GDP: (add up the RL GDP of your nation’s components)
Military: Strength of each armed branch. There may be one Strong, one Average, and one Weak. Please note that the Average of a RL nation like South Korea would be different from one like Syria - dependent on funding, technology, and experience. Please include the size of each branch, and what percentage of your population serves in the military.
Further Military Description: [[OPTIONAL]] (Is there anything else that you see as relevant to the military, or any of its branches that doesn’t fit in any of the above categories? You can add that here. Some ideas ALSO OPTIONAL are as follows:
Military organization: (How is your military organised? Does your nation conscript? Who can serve? Are there limits on ages or gender? Is there a limit on ages, but you can begin training them earlier? How well does your nation pay? Is your country standing, or largely made up of reserves? Who leads it, and how do they become the leader? Elaborate on these questions in your answers, and add anything else that you think matters to describe your military organisation))
The Army: (How many individuals are in your land force? How many soldiers, tanks, cavalry, horses, aircraft (if your army has aircraft separate from the air force), and noncombatants who help out? How is their technology, logistic, weaponry, armor, and such? Who leads them? How does this army fit into the military? How good are they? Are they great, professional fighters, poorly armed conscripts, or maybe even decently armed conscripts that have no idea what they’re doing? Elaborate on these questions in your answers, and add anything else that you think matters to describe your army)
The Navy: (How large is your navy? How many ships of each type do you possess? How well-built are the ships, and how well-trained are the sailors? Who leads your navy? How do they fit into the military? How does your navy recruit? Are they conscripts, or professional? Does a navy even exist in your nation? Elaborate on these questions in your answers, and add anything else that you think matters to describe your navy)
The Air Force: (How large is your air force? How many aircraft of each type do you possess? How well-built are the aircraft, and how well-trained are the sailors? How do they fit into the military? How does your air force recruit? Does an air force even exist in your nation? Elaborate on these questions in your answers, and add anything else that you think matters to describe your navy)
WMDs: Does your nation have WMDs? If they have nuclear materials, what is their source of uranium? Please note that it’s unlikely for certain areas to have nuclear weapons.[/box]
