Well i mean, fair dues to be annoyed but... tad extreme dont you fucking think lol

I think this episode tried to juggle too many emotional plot lines, you had the engineer and his son, Bella andRyan then Bella and Kane, the old couple. THink the episode had too much going on

Let's hope it's not a plastic Tesla on Sunday- could do with some depth rather than just someone shallow with someone looking like Charlie Chaplin saying I'm Nikolai.

last Sunday started ok and then went cornily off the boil- middling. The future human reminded me of the creature from Alien.

That was a fun little romp, of a much better standard than we've gotten in the Chibnall era so far.

Fun semi-historical episode, with good character writing for Nikola Tesla and Dorothy Skerritt. The aliens also had a cool design, and the humour was strong.

The Keystone Army/Hive Queen Eusocial race thing was a bit cliche

Does anyone else think the Skithra are related to the Racnoss? They are both inspired by arachnids (Racnoss=Spiders, Skithra=Scorpions) and the head shape of the queen looked similar.

So what political bullshit did Chibnall shove in this week? Let me guess...it's about Tesla, so some hamfisted preaching on immigrant inventors or something?

Real bold of Chibnall to have Nikola Tesla say "that rat faced scoundrel Elon Musk is pure evil, don't trust him" in the first minute of Doctor Who tonight.

Was a good episode, actually probably the best episode of the Chibnall/Whittaker era thus far.

a bit disappointed, was hoping to see angry Doctor when the Skithra queen asked about whether she'd seen a dead planet before.

Robert Glenister who played Thomas Edison in the last episode previously appeared on Doctor Who as the soldier Salateen, and his android duplicate, in Peter Davison's final story The Caves of Androzani.

Orphan 55 was a meh episode. Too much about the daughter who hated her mom & the father/son mechanic. The message was rather heavy handed, but I did like the Doctor's line about how this isn't the only timeline/reality.

I was suprised how nutty The Master has become. Did he completely lose his mind? I missed series 2-11

Orphan 55 has the lowest consolidated viewers of any episode of any New Who Doctor's second series. We're not quite at Series 10 levels of disinterest yet but it doesn't exactly bode well.

Not really. He mentions in one line that he immigrated, and that's about it.

Oh definitely the best so far. This season, barring Orphan 55, has felt so much like normal Doctor Who. Long may it continue
Eh, I thought she did the smouldering look pretty well there.

Decent enough, a lot better than the last one, i thought the actor who played Tesla was the best part of the episode, really enjoyed his performance, the guy who played Edison also did really well

I agree i thought the aliens were very similar to the Racnoss, and i was wondering was it like a sub species that was more based on scoprions than spiders, but it seems to be a separate species all together. Why did the queen have a humanoid appearance though? Was she also just disguising herself as another form?

Liked this episode, but I'm thinking about the next episode and a few potential plot holes. If these Judoon are part of the Shadow Proclamation I thought Earth was only a class 5 planet so they couldn't conduct operations directly. Hence they took the hospital in the moon in "Smith and Jones". I recall a Judoon being on Earth during a Sarah Jane Adventures episode but that one was forced to crash land if I recall correctly. So either these are not S.P Judoon, Earth is now higher than class 5 which would be about time, the person they are tracking is so dangerous that direct intervention is necessary. Any thoughts?

Id say probably one of the latter two, or a bad continuity mistake.

I'll go with that later.

Also, I read one of those newspaper reviews of the last episode and the critic was arguing that Chibnall was writing bad Who stories as he had never grown up with it or Sci-Fi in general. Sounds about right.
