Like skin, the color of a person's hair is largely determined by the pigment melanin. Higher amounts of eumelanin causes dark hair (conversely, blonde hair is caused by less eumelanin) while more phoemelanin gives hair a reddish tint. Of the variations, hair with high levels of eumelanin is by far the most common. While some ethnicities are almost exclusively associated with one hand color (such as the stereotypical blond Scandinavian), many hair colors are found universally. The genetics are much more complicated than this though.
To the point, what hair color do you have and what are your thoughts about having that color? If you have any suggestions or clarifications, feel free to post. Keep it civil though, this isn't about asserting the superiority of your blue eyes blond hair master race or any bs like that.
Personally, I have dark brown hair, although it sometimes get mistaken for black. My other family members have pure black or a range of brown hair colors, so it's not surprising that my hair is in between. What about you?
