For those who don't know what School Lunch Shaming is here a article that explains what it is.

Broadly speaking, “lunch shaming” refers to the overt identification and stigmatization of any student who does not have money to buy a school meal. While the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) narrowly applies this overt identification to students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch, in practice legal lunch shaming occurs against students whose family income exceeds free or reduced lunch eligibility thresholds. The purpose of lunch shaming is to embarrass a student and parent(s) so that a school lunch debt is paid quickly, in turn reducing a school’s financial burden.

As we all know school lunch shaming is a problem in American schools and I want to discuss how we can prevent school lunch shaming and how we can provide lunch to children whose family can't afford to pay for school lunches because they're poor.

In my opinion I think school lunch shaming is disrespectful to both the student and their family. And I think schools shouldn't be shaming a student and their family because their poor to afford it. While I understand why schools need lunch money, there needs to be a better away to get the lunch money without shaming the student and their family.

What is your opinion on school lunch shaming NSG? And what are some ways to prevent this type of shaming?

Could there be any kind of solution that doesn't involve us coughing up more taxes to the government? And just a question, has anyone thought of the way reduced lunch or free lunch could affect the productivity of America's hard working farmers?

I can't read the whole thing but it seems to be schools outing parents and their children who are over the minimum threshold in terms of income yet still claiming free school lunches. I don't know what the minimum threshold but if this is the US then I can only imagine it's something ridiculous.

Having said that aren't lunches generally sponsored by Coke or Pepsi or some other ridiculously unhealthy company that shouldn't be in schools?

This. Usually, it's just a bare-bones baloney or bottom-tier PBJ. Something cheap and not at all filling, but enough for the school to claim to have not let the kid go hungry and crappy enough to point the finger at the parents for not doing better.

I would guess it's more like register operators caling out students for not paying incured debts. My grandmother works a lunch line for the last ten years and she's always been very sassy and very proud of herself for calling the students out on all kinds of stuff.

How about the schools act like responsible adults and ask the parents to pay if it is so important instead of taking it out on innocents? Preventing bullying over this sort of shit sounds like a good idea too.

School lunches only exist to benefit corporations like Pepsi while allowing the school to say that they fixed the problem. Also, pizza is not a vegetable, it’s a carbohydrate. School lunch should be reformed to improve quality and decrease cost. Ordering raw fruits, veggies, and bread from local providers and making the food in the cafeteria would help.

Yeah you got a math class and science and all that horse shit, but what I really learned in school was that the world is unfair, worthless roaches have the most power and good people suffer and when you lash out at the mistreatment, they'll point their fingers and say you're the bad guy.
