Prime Minister Abe was standing on Japan's first and only nuclear aircraft carrier, still to be named Enterprise. "Does the Diet know about this?" "I notified them yesterday. What ships will be part of Enterprise's battlegroup?" "The Enterprise, of course, the Maya, Atago, Soryu, Uruyu, and a couple of supply ships. The first deployment will be this afternoon, around the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea. The Enterprise will meet up with it's escort and proceed to Southwest Mission area.

Rear Admiral Ueshiba Tokuma was observing the deck of his proud new command. He asks his captain "How long until the launch of patrol aircraft?" "The first of the Hawkeye's will be airborne within a few minutes, while the Hornets will be in the next 30 minutes. " "Excellent, begin launch sequence."

The Black Storks made their way across mainland China in their transport planes. When they crossed the border near Xinjiang, some Chinese fighter aircraft flew up beside them. They were ordered to land, and the Chinese asked Beijing what was going on. They learned that this was allowed, and the Chinese fighters flew alongside the Pakistani planes for the rest of the journey, escorting them. Eventually, they landed in Dandong.

Image

Once in Dandong, the Pakistanis gave a brief briefing of their plan to the Chinese, who cleared their airports for use. Two of the three planes got ready to move, and one of them soared off the runway, and shortly after, a second one followed. The third one stayed behind. All of the Special Forces soldiers were on the other 2.

Image

The first plane approached Pyongyang. The commander of the operation, Captain Bilal Bhutto, gave orders to his men. "We jump from this plane over the embassy. We're Alpha Team. The ten of us are going to drop from this plane and secure a perimeter around the building. I want all of your protective gear and gas masks safely applied. We parachute one after the other, 6 seconds in between. Over one minute, we'll all be dropped. Secure a radius around the building."

The co-pilot gives a signal to Bhutto, and he shouts. "NOW!"

Image

The ten men from Alpha team leap out of the plane with startling grace, falling and letting their parachutes activate. Ten men from the other plane, Bravo Team, leap out as well. Their mission is to go inside the actual embassy and retrieve the personnel. The remaining ten Black Storks-Charlie Team-land with the planes nearby; their mission is to defend the planes.

Alpha Team moves into strategic positions around the embassy. The last thing they needed was an unexpected guerilla attack to thwart their plans.

Image

Bravo Team entered the embassy. They heard movement. They searched the first and second floors. Nothing. They then noticed something; a hidden trapdoor. It led to a ladder. One of the soldiers grabbed a nearby piece of debris and threw it down. He heard it hit the bottom. It sounded like stone.

With that, 5 of the Black Storks in the building went down the ladder and found the secret bunker designed by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. They found a closed door. They heard movement inside. The soldiers get around the door and kick it down, expecting to find the diplomats and visitors from Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Inside were some rats, scampering about.

The soldiers noticed a section labeled with a chemical warfare sign. Inside were some empty closets, as if the protective gear was taken. One of the soldiers broke the silence for the first time since dropping out of the plane.

"They're not here."

With that, the soldiers turned around and went back up the ladder. They hurried out of the building and signaled to Alpha Team to head back to the planes. Once they got there, they didn't know what to do, but they had to leave. They boarded the planes and took off for Chollima, a different city.

The planes landed in a rural area near the city, where they likely wouldn't be spotted by any North Korean citizens. They didn't know what to do. Suddenly, a signal was heard on the radio. A message in Urdu.

"Help us, we're trapped in a bunker by Kangson Station! Repeat, there is a bunker beneath Kangson Station. We are there. We need help!" Bhutto smiled. God was with them.

Alpha and Bravo Team hurried towards the station, strangely not encountering any North Korean citizens. They didn't bother to take their protective gear off. Alpha Team secured the top layer of the station while Bravo Team went underground. There, they searched around in silence, and then they found the guys they were looking for, hidden in a room.

"Thank God you're here!" the Pakistani Ambassador to North Korea said. "Our embassy was wiped out! As soon as Kim was killed, we left for the bunker, donned the protective gear, and escaped here by the Taedong River. We were safely out when the chemical weapons struck. The message went off after a deemed timer. Thank God you're here!"

The Black Storks had them put their gas masks and gear on, and then they left the station. Alpha Team secured a route for the personnel and Bravo Team to make it safely to the planes. Both teams and the people from the station boarded the 2 planes and headed off back to Dandong.

Bhutto remained behind with Charlie Team. In an hour or so, the 3rd plane would come to pick them up. They hid around the rural areas, waiting for the plane.

Image

It came. Charlie Team boarded the plane and flew off.

All three planes met in Dandong. Bhutto thanked the Chinese for their help, and the planes set off from China to Peshawar, Pakistan. All 37 people were saved, without a single military casualty. Just as fast as they were there, they left, and the world didn't know what happened until the planes arrived in Peshawar.

Imran Khan saw the planes arrive, and he immediately went to thank God for the success of the mission, knowing in his heart it was a success.

6:48 A.M.

As the new year came around, people across Korea were very excited to what the decade would have in store for them. But all this excitement quickly turned into shock and fear as the nation of North Korea was thrown into chaos when Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un was shot on live TV. It was a tragic and bloody spectacle, the man President Moon Jae-In was working with to finally make moves to lower tensions in the peninsula. News stations from all over the world reported this and immediately sent for reporters in Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo to grab the latest headlines. Beijing for reports about North Korea’s government, Seoul for seeing possible and suggested courses of action within the peninsula and Tokyo for any possible threats to Japan given past threats and missile tests were aimed at them.

There was no clear successor in sight to Jong-un. The North Koreans were complacent about it since his reign started only a few years back, so they didn’t have plans in store for a succession,

The DMZ immediately swarmed with Korean troops if the situation would spiral into chaos and all reserve forces were a public announcement away from deployment. Nearby airbases deployed even more aircraft for patrol rounds close to the border. Weapons were all being stockpiled. All naval and military bases were put in a state of heightened alert as the North Koreans might pin the death on the South Koreans and use it as a “reasonable” casus belli to unify the peninsula under them.

Then, rumours from inside agents told of two groups within the DPRK planning for a revolution, which only escalated the chaos within the government (or what was left of it, since some were reported to have left in the wake of the chaos).

Jae-In’s office was immediately swarmed with calls from the legislative wing discussing possible courses of action and his cabinet concerning addresses to the public and what to say to allies. He’d been up for three days with only five hours of sleep because of the whole situation. He just finished a conference call with Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang Kyung-wha, Minister of National Defense Jeong Kyeong-doo which lasted three hours on the North Korea and China situations. They agreed they would send a squadron of airplanes and four ships to the Philippines to monitor the South China Sea situation if Duterte and his cabinet consented.

Someone knocked on his door.

“안녕히 주무셨어요, 대통령.“(Good morning, Mr. President. Did you sleep well?), greeted his secretary.

“좋은 아침입니다. 나는 전혀 잠을하지 않았다.” (Good morning. I didn’t sleep at all.), Jae-in shot back, with much less enthusiasm than his assistant.

“여기에 귀하의 아침 차입니다.” (Here is your morning tea.), his assistant said as she set down a steaming hot cup of tea. Just what he needed to combat the sleepiness.

“감사합니다.”(Thank you.), the President replied.

“아, 대통령, 당신은 체코에서 메시지를 가지고있다.” (Ah, Mr. President, you have a message from the Czech Republic.), remembered the secretary.

“다시 우리가 다시 쓸 수 있다는 외무부 장관에게 통보 이동합니다.”(Go notify the minister of foreign affairs again so that we could write back.), commanded the President.

His secretary acknowledged the order with a simple nod and exited the room quickly and discreetly.

“아, 씨발” (Oh, fuck), muttered the President. He wondered what the message was about as he hadn’t read it yet.

Kyung-wha would surely be annoyed after the call.

Vancouver Airport
Vancouver, Canada

"Did you check the engine instruments?"

"Yes, I did. Can you turn the aircraft lighting off?"

There were a few clicks. "Got it."

This exchange of conversation was the end of the preflight checklist aboard the large Airbus A330-300 they were in. While this one was an Air Canada livery, this was not a usual flight for them.

For starters, the 2 cockpit crew, instead of civilians, were both officers in the Royal Canadian Air Force. The Captain was Col. Simon Anderson, and the First Officer was Maj. Israel Quinn.

There were only 4 passengers on board the aircraft as well. They were Gen. Terrance Joseph, Gen. Jaime Russell, and Head of CSIS' Toronto Region Tomas Sandoval and Deputy Commissioner of the RCMP A Division Kyle Griffith.

The flight was top secret, going under the callsign "Air Canada 9788", a flight number that doesn't exist. Its destination was Vladivostok, where they would rendezvous with their Russian counterparts and fly on a 2nd flight to Pyongyang to examine the embassies over there, which had been affected by a chemical weapons attack.

In a few minutes, they had finished the pre-Start checklist. Anderson pressed a button, and the microphone crackled a bit.

"Good evening, Vancouver Ground, Air Canada 9788, requesting pushback."

It was rather late. After all, they were expecting to meet with Russian officials in the evening, so nighttime for the 8-9 hour flight would be good.

In no time at all, they responded back.

"Good evening, Air Canada 9788, pushback approved, expect Runway 26L."

"Pushback approved, Runway 26L, Air Canada 9788."

As Anderson pushed back, Quinn set the transponder and turned on the beacon lights.

The cabin was quiet. After all, there were only 4 people on board the flight. Joseph was sleeping already, and Sandoval and Griffith were quietly chatting with each other. This left Russell, who was staring out of the window, observing what was going on.

In the cockpit, the crew was back to the checklist. They turned on both engines, set the thrust levers to idle, among other things. Quinn checked the fuel flow to both engines.

"Fuel flow is normal, Captain."

"OK, then. Everything else on the checklist is done, we're probably ready to taxi." Anderson turned on his microphone.

"Vancouver Ground, we are ready to taxi, Air Canada 9788."

Thankfully, they didn't have to do anything for now. Just simply wait for taxiing instructions.

"Air Canada 9788, please taxi via 6, Juliet, Hotel, Delta, and Delta 5, then hold short Runway 26L."

"Taxi via 6, Juliet, Hotel, Delta, Delta 5, and then hold short Runway 26L, Air Canada 9788."

They started to go, allowing them some time to talk amongst themselves.

"So... have you found out what we're flying out here for?" Asked Quinn.

"I... don't know. I don't think we're supposed to know too. Only thing I know is that we're going to be pretty tired once we arrive."

"I've always hated red-eye flights. They mess with my sleep cycle pretty hard, especially if it's adjusted to mostly daytime flights."

"Ah, I know that feeling. It was always pretty hard to do so. What a shame we couldn't switch out."

"Yeah. That was what really irked me about that. I guess some pilots need their sleep too."

"Yep."

A transmission interrupted their chatter. "Air Canada 9788, contact Tower at 118.7."

"118.7, Air Canada 9788."

Quinn started to adjust the dials on the radio, before switching to the right frequency.

"Good evening, Vancouver Tower, Air Canada 9788 taxiing towards Runway 26L."

They were rather close to the runway, on taxiway D, approaching D5. It wouldn't take them long.

Back in the cabin, most of the passengers had finally gone to sleep, as it was getting extremely late, approximately 4:30 AM Vancouver time. The only man still awake was Russell, who was reading a book he had brought aboard.

After around 2 minutes or so, they had approached the runway. As traffic was extremely low, they were able to get through everything with little delay.

"OK, Air Canada 9788, wind is 9 at 90, cleared for takeoff Runway 26L."

"Cleared for takeoff, Runway 26L, Air Canada 9788."

They increased thrust, released the brakes, and set the speed.

"V1... Rotate."

They increased pitch next, retracted the gear, and set the flaps. This was one of the hardest parts, and it was done. It was practically smooth sailing for the next 8 or so hours of their day.

9:24 AM

The president just dozed off for a while to regain as much energy as he could. The tea worked but he still felt extremely weary afterwards so he decided to sleep it off while there weren’t any important topicsvthat needed his immediate attention.

He woke up by the sound of a phone call. He checked the time on the clock, 9:24 AM, it said. He mustered the best alert and awake voice he could and picked up the phone.

*Note: The following conversations will all be in Korean unless it is in response to foreigner or other matters.

“Hello?”, the president asked.

“Yes, Mr. President. I thought you wouldn’t respond for another few minutes.”, Kyeong-doo sighed.

“Oh, forgive me. Now, why do you call?”, Jae-in asked.

“We just heard. Pyongyang is gone.”, Kyeong-doo replied in an exasperated voice.

Jae-in cursed in his head.

“How long have you known?”, Jae-in inquired nervously.

“Since 8:52. We just got confirmation from inside sources. Whatever’s left of the command structure in the North must be really good at keeping this down.”, Kyeong-doo responded.

“How was this orchestrated?”

“It happened with the strategic explosions at chemical plants in and around Pyongyang. We have no confirmed survivors, everyone in the vicinity is presumed dead.”

Jae-in cursed yet again. He’d have to deal with the mounds of calls on the situation at hand and possible involvement. Then, he’d have to deal with an influx of refugees from North Korea. Given that Pyongyang is gone, the leadership structure on the DMZ would probably fall into disarray or stay loyal to whatever remains of the DPRK. What’s left of the DPRK could assume that the chemical attack was perpetrated by South Korea and order strikes on South Korea.

All of the nations that had embassies in North Korea would surely be mad and would try to find answers.

“Anything else I must know?”, Jae-in asked yet again.

“Yes,” Kyeong-doo paused for quite a while. “The winds at this time of year will bring the fumes from the blast site towards Seoul and Incheon. We don’t know if the chemicals will be potent and be able to kill people, but it would be enough to cause a whole host of health problems. I suggest launching a public service announcement to those in Seoul, Incheon and nearby towns to evacuate further south.”

“I’ll notify the National Assembly of this. I’ll also issue a slow withdrawal of troops from the DMZ to secure a danger zone,”

“I don’t know if that is the best course of action, sir.”

“This will also put them out of harm’s way. We’l still be monitoring the situation there and station a few squadrons with a supply of gas masks and whatever else they’ll need. Thank you, Secretary.”

“My pleasure, Mr. President.”

He called for his PR guy to ready a speech.

Russian military officials set up a hanger at Vladivostok International Airport for Air Canada flight that they were told just took off and would be there in 8 hours. Russian Defense Minister General Sergey Shoygu and his senior officers prepared for their guests where they would get on Russian Army Mi-35 Hind E Attack helicopters where they be taken to where 3 Russian Army divisions were waiting to take them to Pyongyang with Chemical warfare suits on.

The said divisions prepared to proceed to Pyongyang after suiting up because Pyongyang was contaminated by chemical weapons used in a terrorist attack. Brigadier General Alexei Asimov with his officers around him for a briefing so he began speaking, "Ok men, well be heading to see what remains of all embassies and see if anybody is still alive in the city. There is a chance that we will engage with what remains of the North Korean Army. If we are attacked, you have permission to return fire as per orders from the defense minister and President Putin. We will be waiting for Canadian advisors who will be representing NATO." One of his divisional commanders ask to speak so Alexei nodded, "We are cooperating with NATO sir?" Alexei replied, "Yes President Putin thinks it time we started cooperating with America and her allies and I agree with him. Russia and the U.S. used to be close before WW1 and he plans to return to those days and no we will still be the Russian Federation. The Czars are not coming back."

Tokyo, Japan

"The 1st Airborne Regiment will be in Pyongyang within the hour." "Do they have their standard gas masks?" "Knowing the entire city was gassed, we issued gas masks for the 1st Airborne, the 3rd Special Forces Platoon, and the 4th Division in Kasuga. The 1st Airborne Division will be first, the 3rd Platoon within 3 hours, and the 4th Division in approximately 24 hours. The plan is simple. The Dai Ichi Kutei Dan will land at the British Embassy in Pyongyang and establish a headquarters there. Instead of the British flag flying from the roof, the Japanese Flag, NATO symbol, and the banner of the United Nations will fly from the building. We will search the surrounding area for survivors, however unlikely. The 4th Division will ride in from Kaesong. If foreign forces arrive, our orders will be to identify and assist if needed."

Pyongyang, North Korea

"2 minutes till landing, General." "You brought the vehicles at the missile base?" "They are right behind us. 12 IFVs should allow us to establish a perimeter along the embassy and the surrounding area. Do we have any support?" "A few squadrons of aircraft, along with a Hawkeye from Enterprise, will be providing surveillance. "

2 minutes later, British Embassy

Image

"Clear the entire building. Leave no stone uncovered." "Upper floor, cleared." "Lower cleared, General" "Sir, everyone inside the building is dead by a long shot." "Identify the bodies and have them taken back to Japan to be moved to their respective nations. Begin securing the area, immediately."

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Image

Good evening, my fellow countrymen.

I know that you have heard of the death of the Supreme Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-Un.The situation there has become very precarious for us and the world as a whole. But recently, there had been a new development. As of 8:43 AM, this morning Pyongyang has exploded. A chain of chemical plants in and around Pyongyang detonated and caused a collection of chemicals to be released into the air. As far as we are aware, no one has survived the explosion. We are also unaware if this is intended or purely accidental. Given that no one has survived the explosion, we are assuming that this cloud of gas is very deadly and will kill everyone.

We are initiating a state of emergency in the capital region and surrounding regions, so all of us in Seoul, Incheon and every town within 50 kilometres south of the western section, which is comprised of the sections from the westernmost point of the DMZ to Jangnammyeon, of the DMZ must take precautionary measures. And those within 10 kilometres of said section the DMZ are advised to evacuate immediately.

Thank you.

Seoul, South Korea
Blue House

Jae-in knew that his statement would create a lot of chaos and sow panic in many of the people. He was sure that many would swarm the groceries to get supplies and buy gas masks at hardware stores. A bunch of people on social media would be pouring their prayers for the Koreans and a lot of people would also think about the safety of the people they love, be it actual family or any K-Pop artist really.

As for him, he’d be flying to Busan if the situation got worse and continue leading the nation from there.

He didn’t announce it in his statement, but the Russians reached out to him and said that they’d found out about a concentration camp in North Korea. He would be sending in the 1st Special Forces Brigade (Airborne) 'EAGLE' and the 3rd Special Forces Brigade (Airborne) 'FLYING TIGER' to investigate the place. He’d also be sending extra troops to Pyongyang equipped with the best gas masks and other equipment necessary to make the journey, as requested by a coalition made up of the US, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and the UK Those units would be the 7th Special Forces Brigade (Airborne) 'PEGASUS' and the 9th Special Forces Brigade (Airborne) 'GHOST'.

He’ll also be sending a few more divisions to towns close to the border and station some more in Incheon and Seoul if ever need be.

Korea Meeting

(Co-written by The Felan Federation, Hypron, Agarntrop, Chewion, Bentus and myself)

Beijing, PRC

The usual fanfare that accompanied such a high level meeting was absent from the streets. Gone were the media camera, the flash photography, and the crowds protesting over some issue or another. Instead, the South Korean President wore a grim expression as he took his place among his country's delegation. Developments had come hard and fast since the catastrophe in Pyongyang, but his hands had been tied as the world swooped in. It had been his responsibility to ensure that the North's capability to retaliate with overwhelming force and enact untold damage on his people was out of the way first. But now, sitting at the table with the Chinese and North Korean representatives before him, he felt his chest pounding in a way that it hadn't in years. There was a cautious seed, a resilient hope sprouting in the back of his mind. This could be it. Here, at this table, after so many years of division and suffering. The men and women there today could be the ones to usher in a new age of peace and reconciliation in their region, if they were only willing to reach out and trust their former foes.

Clearing his throat, the President began. "Ladies and gentlemen, I apologise to be blunt - but I wish to dispose of the pleasantries. We all know the gravity of the situation that has brought us here today." He glanced at the representatives from the Korean Liberation Front, his expression pained and sympathetic. "Some of us having experienced the unfurling chaos firsthand. I will be clear to everyone on my nation's goals. Now, as always, South Korea's priority is the security of our people - but we have come here today with a grander hope: to set in motion the reunification and stabilisation of our shared peninsula."

The Chinese President Xi Jinping had been briefly brought over to the meeting, despite the unfolding crises in the South China Sea and Hong Kong. However, North Korea was clearly more important to him as it involved the active deployment of the PLA and the very real and petrifying risk of the usage of WMDs. He arrived at the meeting urgently and promptly, ready to shave off any formalities and have a straight conversation.

"China has a three-point strategy for bringing security to the peninsula, the first - which has already been completed - is to send the PLA in to certain communities on the Chinese border in order to stop the chaos spilling over into China and fuelling organised crime, violence, and the drug trade. The second point is to use any means and ways necessary to prevent terrorist organisations and criminal gangs from accessing WMDs - these means and ways include unilateral military action. The third and final point is to negotiate or, if neccessary, impose a ceasefire once points 1 and 2 are achieved in order to begin restabilisting the DPRK. After this, China would support reunification but not by means of the ROK annexing the DPRK, as that would be economically damaging to the ROK and damaging to the security of China. We would support a Confederal Republic of Koryo."

Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, turned to the others as he said "The United States and our allies have already started operations to secure WMDs in North Korea and we would welcome Chinese assistance in this either with troops or intelligence. Working together here is in the best interest of the world. As far as reunification, we would support a Confederal Republic of Koryo with some details to be hashed out later."

"China would be open to assist the USA in securing and removing WMDs through any collaborative means neccessary."

The silent member in the meeting remained quiet - until those higher remained silent and the man stood and merely dropped several documents onto the table in question. Nobody knew whom the man had truly been in North Korea - but the likeliest thing, was that he had been a secretary operating in Kaesong; the biggest source of pro-freedom and democracy faction due to their closer proximity to South Korea.

In this case, the man had been holding in one hand old pictures from World War Two and specifically the internment camps operated by the Germans...and in the other...more modern pictures taken by some of the rebel groups that were 'allied' with the Korean Liberation Front. In this case...it was about the internment camps operated in North Korea.

"...the Kim Family...and anyone whom supported them...will be hanged..." he stated, in a voice void of human warmth - ever since these pictures had reached the KLF.

Leaning forward in the table as the colour seemed to drain from many of his delegates' features, Moon's eyes narrowed in anger as he studied the images. A few hushed whispers were exchanged on the South Korean side of the table, with many of the delegates' emotions clearly running high at the horrifying discovery. They had all known that the Kim regime had been abhorrent, but to commit an atrocity on such a scale against their own people was sickening.

But the mourning could come later. For now, they had to secure the peace. "This act of unmitigated terror will not go unanswered." Moon stated, his voice firm and forceful as he met the eyes of his northern compatriot. "South Korea will stand with you and your people in any way we can. But justice must take precedence over mindless violence. Peace must be secured before we can turn out attention to rebuilding. If all the parties here are in favour of throwing our effort behind a treaty formalising a confederation between North and South Korea, I propose that we pool our efforts to launch a determined strike against the remaining regime forces to secure the nation on behalf of a democratic government formed by the Korean Liberation Front."

Secretary Pompeo tried to remove the images of the camps from his mind as he leaned forward to speak. “The USA is committed to fighting injustice like this across the globe. We agree with President Moon’s stance that we must focus first on making it formal that North and South Korea will at last be united into one nation to secure peace in the Peninsula. Our special forces are the way to Korea to link up with the Japanese in securing the WMDs, and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit will he deployed into Northern North Korea to assist in policing the area and rebuilding.”

Chinese officials seemed to be less phased by the image than the other talkers at the table.

"We are opposed to any strike on what remains the legitimate and sovereign regime of North Korea. Whilst the KLA may provide some stability, any strike on regime forces would create an even larger power vaccum that would allow for the rise of terrorist organisations and drug militias. China proposes strikes to incapacitate all WMD facilities not currently owned by factions willing to give them up. We would also support strikes on any terroristic or otherwise dangerous faction operating in the area."

President Moon shook his head towards his Chinese Counterpart. "Mr. President, I understand your position. But there simply isn't anything left of the old regime. Our intelligence indicates that they have splintered with the death of Kim and his highest ranking commanders. Most surviving regime forces are being controlled by warlords who are fighting as much among themselves as with the KLF." Pausing, the South Korean President allowed his words to sink in. "While we support your offer to strike rogue WMD facilities and will coordinate with you to accomplish this, the regime forces *are* terroristic forces now. The surest way to stabilise the situation on your border is for all of us here today to come together and support the KLF as the legitimate government of North Korea. To that end, our military will be moving in to support them on the ground, and I will instruct our commanders to keep your own forces aware of our movements so that there are no misunderstandings."

Ürümqi, China, 27th September 2020
There was a shootout between a Muslim and three Han Chinese in downtown Ürümqi. One man fired a handgun from his apartment window at a Muslim man crouched behind his car. Another man brandishing an AK-47 was also at the scene and charged at the man behind the car, but didn't fire.

Beijing, China, 28th September 2020

President Xi sighed as he heard the news from the Americans. They were interfering in an especially aggressive way, all while Xi was focusing on getting the SCS sorted and moving on to creating an increasingly hostile environment to deter resistance in Hong Kong and Xinjiang, and then finally moving on to assisting China's growing economy.

He decided to expand the sanctions that were due to take effect next month that affected Japan to also affect India in exactly the same way. He justified these sanctions with the opinion that as India had attacked China just as Japan did, they deserved the same treatment. He announced the new sanctons upon India in a press briefing made with Chinese state media. He reminded both Japan and India that a cessation of "hostile" activities would result in a removal of the sanctions.

He also ordered all Chinese vessels in the South China Sea to stay put in international waters but repeated the previous line that "hostile measures will only occur in response to hostile actions."

He hoped this would begin to solve the issue and then decided to draft plans for the improvement and modernisation of the Chinese economy. These plans included the introduction of a decreased income tax rate of 40% for all monthly earnings of ¥80,000 or above, the introduction of a decreased level 3 and 4 land appreciation tax rate of 45%, and ambitious plans for trade agreements with developing nations across Asia and Africa.

He also ordered an increased military presence in Xinjiang after increased tensions there.

The White House
Washington DC
Late May 2020

President Trump stood inside the entryway as he awaited the Polish President who was due to arrive any minute now for the most recent round of bilateral talks between the two NATO allies and friends. Friends who had grown much closer since 2017 it could be said.

After a long flight Andrzej Duda finally arrived in the US capital, after the energizing effect of a few cups of coffee he stepped out of the jet and made his way to the motorcade of black cars with equally blackened windows that would soon be taking him and his staff to the White House. Watched over by stoic American police officers and Secret Service agents. As they arrived and passed a line of journalists and camera-flashes, President Duda saw President Trump there waiting for him. Approaching, he shook the hand of his American counterpart. “Good day, Mr President.” He said with a slight smile. “It’s good to see you again, I’ve been looking forward to our next meeting, there a lot to talk about.”

“Indeed there is Mr. President.” Posing for a few pictures with the Polish President, President Trump then led his Polish counterpart inside and into the Oval Office where he motioned to the seat opposite his at the desk before saying “Mr. President, I wanted to start this one on one meeting between us with a request to increase our countries’ close relations and cooperation in our shared pursuit of international peace and prosperity.”“

“As do I.” Duda replied with a curt nod in Trump’s direction. “In fact, I am willing to extend an offer of extended cooperation between the AW and CIA in order to share intelligence and cooperate in the fields of cybersecurity and intelligence gathering aimed against the Russian threat. That would involve setting up a CIA safe house in Poland, free of rent and with Poland covering 50% of the installation cost.” Duda leaned back in his chair. “However, in exchange, I would like to know if we can come to an agreement on a discount for the purchase of military equipment from US defense manufacturers. The world is increasingly volatile and Poland aims to phase out it’s Cold War Era post-Soviet military equipment over the next decade. Much of the new equipment, we plan on purchasing from the US, such as multirole fighter aircraft, reusable infantry rocket launchers to replace the RPG7’s currently in use, new anti-air systems such as the further acquisition of Patriot PAAC3 systems to field a future total of ten companies and six MEADS companies. Do you think that is something we can come to an agreement on?”

Trump nodded before saying “I definitely think that’s something we can agree on. I wonder if Poland would also be interested in housing a THAAD system?”

Duda scratched his chin in thought. "I suppose that would be possible, it would primarily be geared to defending against possible threat from the Kaliningrad exclave yes? We can integrate them with our own future defensive umbrella."

“Very well. I would also like to discuss economic integration with Poland and the other Visegrad nations. Specifically in regards to energy needs.” President Trump replied.

Duda smiled, this was a part of the meeting he had been looking forward to. "I'm really glad you brought that up Mr President." He learned back in his chair before continuing. "I won't hide the fact that I wish to see Poland become a center of American economic investment in Eastern Europe, it would be an immense boon to the Polish economy. We have recently passed reform packages for the service sector that included the creation of venture capital funds that extend loans of up to 40% of a project’s total cost. If the project is successful the loans will be paid back with a small fixed interest rate and if the project is unsuccessful, then the Polish state would share in the losses. Access to these funds will be fully available to both domestic and foreign entities so American companies wishing to invest can take full advantage of this support and we plan to pass a reform package with similar measures for the industrial sector. We could discuss an agreement where US companies that agree to open and run an operation in Poland for at least 12 years can receive an up to 6% corporate tax break for a 5-year period and also an agreement on reduction of tariffs imposed on Polish-made goods? I am sure that if the V4 nations see the effects of such a partnership, they will be willing to enter a multilateral treaty between the US and the V4 where all our economies can integrate further and could perhaps help to attract other Eastern European states to consider membership in the Visegrad group. I especially hope we can attract US investment in the new business center in Warsaw. How does this sound, my friend?" Duda said with a smile.

“This all sounds very nice indeed my friend. I’m sure that Ameriprise, Citadel, Intel and HP would be very interested in setting up in the new business center in Warsaw. Now is there anything else you, in particular, wanted to discuss?” President Trump said.

“Yes, there are a few more things actually.” Duda said. “We would like to make the first in a series of military purchases. The F-35 and Patriot PAAC3 deals from last year are only part of the initial phase of modernization. Thus, Poland would like to order 3000 SMAW II Serpent reusable rocket launchers to replace the RPG-7’s currently in use. In addition, we would like to order eight more Sikorsky S-70I Black Hawk helicopters for the Special Forces, seven C130E Hercules transport planes, 100 M137 Miniguns and last but probably most important, we want to order 100 full Boeing Insitu ScanEagle drone sets, each consisting of four drones and one ground control station. We calculate a total cost of 685 million dollars for the equipment and for the production rights to the Mark 3 HEDP and Mark 6 HEAA rockets for the SMAW-launchers which we will pay in a two-year term, half in 2021 and half in 2022. Does that sound acceptable?”

Trump leaned back in his brown leather chair, mouth wry in thought. “I suppose so, when we apply the discount we discussed. Now, if there is nothing else I think it’s time for us to smile to the cameras.” President Trump said and stood up, straightening his tie. “While our representatives draft the initial terms of the agreements in detail, we’ll be holding the press conference.”

“Very well.” Duda said and rose in turn, smoothing out the creases in his suit. “If there are any irregularities we can renegotiate before I return back to Poland as I'll be in the US for a few days."

"That's going to be great Andrzej, come on now, let's get to the conference and make the press dance."

Building for the Future

Warsaw
Present time.

The President returned from the US a long time ago and was immediately thrown back into a frenzy of work, he sat stiffly in his chair, a pose that would have put a newly minted officer's cadet to shame as he read through the pages of new reform packages that had landed on his desk, waiting to be signed into law, though there were only three, each was hundreds of pages long. After the election victory in 2015 when the PiS Party gained a super-majority in both chambers of Parliament, it had been decided that they shall put the trust that the electorate had given them to prove strong and active. The realization of large scale economic reform packages to promote the growth of Polish companies and attract foreign investment, the first phase of what was planned to become one of the most comprehensive and generous family policies in OCED and a new reform package to promote innovation and research. There was still much to do however, the country's road and rail infrastructure still suffered from decades of poor funding and mismanagement under the decades of communist rule over the county. The government needed to direct a significant amount of attention to this in order to undo the damage, and that is what would be done. A large amount of funds would be dedicated to modernize and adapt Poland's infrastructure to the new century and it's demands, allowing private business access to avenues of transport for goods and private individuals to save time on travel. Time was after all the only resource one can never have back. The Polish President took a deep breath and rose from his desk.

As Andrzej walked over to the window of his office in the Senate he gazed out at the city of Warsaw, it's shimmering skyline and it's bustling streets. He took a deep breath and felt a sense of pride within himself, not really for his own accomplishment, but for the accomplishment of the Polish Nation itself, only 31 years ago the communist regime fell, and Poland was taking great strides forward. Things like the skyscrapers that now graced the capital, the Saska Kepa Business District which was to break ground soon, those things had all been unimaginable when he was a child. This city could one day, in a not too distant future become the beating heart of a third Europe. One between the Western EU and Russia, a third Europe bringing the strength of both and weaknesses of neither, that moved boldly into the future without shame and doubt, firmly anchored in it's culture and traditions to provide a stable bedrock for society. Poland had so much opportunity, one that good leadership and cards played right could seize upon and make the nation flourish. A Poland that picks it's friends carefully and it enemies equally so could grow into a significant European power within his lifetime. The center of a third Europe, perhaps the theory first put forward by Marshall Jozef Pilsudski could become reality, an Intermarium union forming a strong voice for nations that had spent the 19'th and much of the 20'th century as the battlefield between East and West robbed of their agency.

A fine dream to be sure, one that might just be a fine reality one day. But that was still to come, for now Andrzej had too return to his desk and read through the documents his aides had delivered. Long hour worked and less time than he would have liked spent among loved ones, instead he sat in his office as the hour grew late and got up at five in the morning the day after. It was a taxing life... it ate time and the weight of responsibility lay heavy on his shoulders, and it was a weight that never lifted. It was there when he drifted to sleep and the first thing he felt as his eyes opened before his customary cold morning shower. But in a sense he was willing to bear it, not only for his country but also for himself. People may claim they do everything for some greater purpose but Andrzej had to admit, to himself at least that he enjoyed the prestige, the presidential estates, all of it, that was part of it just as much as doing what he and the PiS thought was right for his native land and his countrymen. And so, he returned to work, turning yet another page.

Policymakers at Work

The fact remains that while significant progress has been made in bringing the Polish infrastructural network into the modern age, especially since joining the EU and getting access to the European Investment Bank and EU Structure Funds, there is still much that needs to be done to undo the damage left by the mismanagement and poor funding of infrastructure by the communist regime. Even though the regime fell more than thirty years ago, it's effects are still felt by our country, as are the poor decisions regarding infrastructure made during the tenure the PO Party and it's Komorowski administration. The Infrastructural Re-haul Program for 2020 - 2030, while costly will provide many jobs both during construction and also after completion, we will be able to close and redevelop valuable areas currently occupied by other installations. An infrastructural re-haul and improved communication will allow people to save great amounts of time spent on everyday travel as well as allow companies to save both money and time with quicker, more effective deliveries of goods. This initiative will be critical to facilitate growth opportunities for private business and improve the quality of life for the people of Poland.

With world tension mounting, it is increasingly clear to all the armed forces cannot simply be a budget balancing fund to be slashed when the state needs to save money. Even though the EU and international integration in Europe has contributed to a long peace never before seen on the continent, the fact remains that not all European nations are in the EU and Russia has shown a consistently belligerent stance toward Ukraine both with the outright invasion of Crimea and the support toward Russian separatist rebels in the Donbass-region. In light of these developments, the Polish government will take the steps necessary to secure Poland's territorial integrity and it's ability to respond to attacks against itself and it's allies in NATO, the Visegrad Group and the European Union, reinforcing it's commitment to it's allies. The expansion of the Armed Forces will be done in a series of Plans that will bring the Polish army into a force fully fit for the 21'st century battlefield and make it fully able to project a credible deterrent posture against possible rivals. As such, the Polish government shall embark on a consistent multi-phased plan to expand and modernize the Armed Forces across all branches over the coming decade.

Approximately 40% of the Polish population lives in rural areas and they are just as important to Poland's social fabric as the people living in larger towns and cities, and have just as much of a right to new opportunities in their local areas and just as much attention from the state as any other citizen. Poland is set to receive approximately between 8 and 9 billion Euros in support from the European Union from the funds of the Common Agricultural Policy, these funds, in addition to funds provided by the state shall serve to better the quality of life in the rural countryside, home to so many of our countrymen. The countryside has historically been and remains a place where Poland's cultural traditions and sense of patriotism remain especially strong and prevalent. Thus, the rich heritage of Poland's rural communities must be supported, cared for and cultivated. Is the hope of the government that targeted efforts in conjunction with the reform package known as the Agricultural Revitalization Bill signed in January will serve as a catalyst for greater economic activity, more access to opportunities in local communities and a rise in well-being for rural residents.

* Active Measures.
- Lobby the European Parliament and the European Investment Bank to dedicate a full 8% of the Common Agricultural Budget to Poland.
- Intitialize the DobrostanPlus Program, offering financial incentives to farmers who take measures to improve the welfare and conditions of animals on their farms by avoiding overcrowding, taking measures to find local suppliers of organically produced feed and local butcheries no more than 50 kilometers away to minimize animal transport time and emissions while offering more locally sourced and eco-friendly foodstuffs to local markets while benefiting local agricultural and food-processing industries.
- Create a support fund of 650 million Zlotys as an incentive for adoption of ecological farming practices as only farms that live up to the EU standard on ecological agricultural practices will be eligible for grants from the fund. We hope to at least double the amount of Polish farms with organic certification from 25 000 to 50 000.
- Create a disaster relief fund made up of EU and national funds to help support farmers in need who lose crops and income due to drought, excessive rains, flooding and other natural factors.
- Create a 120 million Zloty investment fund where rural municipalities can apply to for aid in financing free WiFi-hotspots in public areas such as libraries and parks.
- Create a 3 billion Zloty small town loan fund where local municipalities can apply to for fixed low-interest loans in order to promote local business and local cultural activities. Municipal authorities in towns with 25 000 inhabitants or fewer will be able to apply for loans from said fund.
- Formulate legal restrictions on the sale of rural farmland and estates to prevent Polish farmland from becoming easy pickings for real-estate speculation funded by foreign capital. Instead, making it cheaper and more accessible to local communities.
- Hire a total of 2500 Police officers and support staff in order to re-open 185 formerly closed rural area police stations.
- Allocate 2.5 billion Zloty's to re-open previously closed rural area bus-lines interlinking rural villages, allowing primarily youths and retirees access to easier travel in their local areas.
- Allocate 800 million Zlotys to the Bieszczady regional investment fund to stimulate business and local cultural activity.

Foreign Policy Moves

Greetings to all representatives of our good country and Homeland.

The government hopes that now, we can look past partisan divides and work together to secure a stronger voice for Poland and greater benefits for our country through it's EU membership. After the exit of Great Britain from the Union, Poland stands with the fifth largest population and sixth largest economy by nominal GDP in the Union. We have a great opportunity to leverage these facts in the EU to extract greater concession for our country and greater support from the EU's structure funds in order to facilitate the development of our country and then all of us will be able to stand tall in front of our people and proudly say we put partisan division in the European Parliament aside in order to work tirelessly for our country and for the benefit of our people.

* Consider raising the issues and lobbying for.
- The allocation of at least 8% of the EU Common Agricultural Fund to help facilitate rural development in Poland, aiding in the financing of the NPRD, ARB and similar reforms.
- The allocation of at least a total 17.2 billion Euros to Poland between 2020 and 2025 from the EU Structural Fund, EU Cohesion Fund and European Regional Development Fund, with higher levels if the attempts are successful.
- Advocate Poland as the EU's linchpin in the East and for greater support to Frontex in securing the EU's external borders.

Greetings to you, fellow neighbor and ally in both the V4, NATO and EU alike.

The Polish government would like to hold a high-level diplomatic summit with the Czech government in Warsaw to discuss common challenges faced by our nations and way of addressing them with common policy in the field of economics, defense and diplomacy and EU relations. Our governments have stood strong in the face of threats and intimidation from the EU during the 2015 Migrant Crisis, as have our partners in the Visegrad Group showing that the interest of Eastern and Western EU nations do not always align. Together, the Visegrad Group can form firm, principled opposition to the major EU powers and more effectively lobby for greater contributions from the Union, it is our hope the Czech government shares this sentiment and that Prime Minister Babis will be receptive to visiting Poland.

* The Points of Discussion Shall Be.
- Discuss possibility of deeper economic partnerships between our nations
- Discuss measures of cultural cooperation and joint political and diplomatic stances between our nations.
- Discuss possibility of joint infrastructural projects between our nations.
- Discuss measures on cross-party international cooperation between our governments in the EU.
- Discuss possible joint Summit between the V4 and Croatia, including possible extension of membership in the Visegrad Group to Croatia.

Somewhere in the Indian Ocean,
3pm

The small boat hid in the shadow of the giant Freighter that was ploughing through the ocean like a knife through butter. Ahmed didn’t know what nation this tanker belonged to or where it was headed because frankly, he didn’t care. The soon to be nation needed this to trade for weapons to fight the tyrants and Ahmed was prepared to kill anyone who tried to stop him from completing his noble crusade. The crew of six fired up the engine of the boat and sailed towards the behemoth, attaching magazines to their rifles and preparing the boarding equipment. Ahmed looked through his binoculars to formulate his plan, no armed guards could be seen, he looked at his comrades and took a deep breath “Today brothers, we create a new chapter in the history book of Somaliland, a chapter of prosperity and greatness, may this tanker provide the ink to write it!”The crew cheered as Ahmed relaxed and reached for the boarding equipment, sharing it between the six of them and when the hulls banged together, they began to climb up the Freighter. It took a while but eventually Ahmed reached the top, already he was shouting his demands and waving his gun at the stricken crew who immediately surrendered. By the time all the pirates where on the Freighter, most of its crew was on the deck and on their knees with their hands behind their backs. Ahmed ordered two of his men to search the ship while another 2 men to get information about the ship from the captain. Him and his right hand man Abdullah were left to guard the prisoners who seemed to be cooperating, Ahmed found himself pitying them for being at the wrong place at the wrong time, they had done nothing according to his knowledge to deserve being taken prisoner like this. His thoughts were then interrupted by one of his crewmen emerging from the lower decks “CAPTAIN!” He wailed as he ran to Ahmed, he stopped and caught his breath before continuing his sentence “Follow me sir, it seems god has favoured Somaliland!” Ahmed was intrigued by this use of language and followed the crewman down the steps to the lower deck, when he saw it at first he thought his eyes were deceiving him as in front of him was a deck loaded with military hardware, from small arms to T-55 main battle tanks, Ahmed hid his overwhelming joy and gave an order to man standing next to him “Kill the crew, were taking this one home.”

“But..” the man replied

“No buts, if they are holding this hardware you can bet they’re trained to defend it, kill them all!” He replied, cutting his subject off.

Ahmed watched the man stumble on the stairs as he ran to relay the orders to everyone on board while smirking to himself , he had just won Somaliland the entire war...

Australian Landing in North Korea

Postby Arkhastok » Tue Jan 14, 2020 4:37 pm

Munchon, North Korea

Site of Landing for the SASR
The Australian special forces troops of the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) have just landed 10km north of the city of Munchon on the Eastern Coast of North Korea, with the intention of assisting in retrieving WMD’s that may land in the hands of the factions in the civil war that may still be loyal to the former Kim regime. But the first priority must be to establish communication and hopefully coordinate operations with the Japanese forces in the area which are assisting the KLF.

Major General Adam Findlay had his energy sapped by the warm, humid environment of the region, although typically it had quite a cold climate.

Almost as north as Russia, yet this feels like Vietnam, he thought to himself looking around at the derelict rural infrastructure that showed definite signs of poverty. Rusting walls, slum-like architecture, buildings that just had a small hole to enter from instead of a door. It was a wonder how the North Korean people could live under these horrendous conditions yet still think that this was the most developed that any nation in the world was. Eerily, there was not a person in sight, they seemed to have fled to other regions as the civil war raged on, possibly as refugees to more peaceful areas. Findlay thought that it would be intriguing to meet a North Korean, who had a perspective that their nation was superior, with a leader basically being their version of God and to see how that perspective has been shattered as foreign troops prepare to flood their country to restore order. But in this case, it was to bring freedom, freedom that the North Korean people would never have seen before.

“Always stay on the lookout, enemy forces could be anywhere, we don’t have sufficient intel on anything so always assume you are in enemy territory.” Findlay radioed to the rest of his team. They were only the first Australian forces to arrive in North Korea, and solely had the intention of assisting the Japanese and the KLF united forces and joining forces with them. Mainly being reconaissance special forces, they couldn’t do much on their own.

Findlay radioed back into the Australian army forces currently stationed in Japan. “This is Maj. Gen. Findlay of the Special Air Service Regiment. We have landed just north of the city of Wonsan, and we require intelligence on the location of friendly Japanese troops in the area”

“Affirmative, will enquire with Japan” the radio blurted back, in a matter of seconds.

Island of Kyushu, Japan
Commander Bryant Armell quickly became notified on the SASR landing in North Korea, much to his excitement. Australian forces were in the region, and it was time to show that the Australian nation had capabilities that would assist allied operations in the North Korean Civil war.

Almost immediately, Armell started to press numbers on the telephone to dial the Japanese military command in Japan which was in charge of the Japanese troops stationed with the KLF.

”Hello, this is Commander Bryant Armell of Australia, calling to notify that Australian Special Air Service Regiment Forces have landed in North Korean territory with the intention of cooperating with Japanese forces in the area. I do hope that we can arrange a meeting point between the two forces currently in the region”

"Sir, the 3rd Platoon, which landed to the west a few hours earlier, has finally arrived at Japanese Headquarters in Pyongyang." "Excellent, Commander, how long until the 4th Division arrives?" "About 21 hours, sir." "Sir, a phone call from the Australians, being forwarded by Japanese Military Headquarters."

After listening, he responds to the General "Well, we have already left the base and have went to Pyongyang to secure the rest of the city. It would be best if you made your way to the city from your location. We have already made a perimeter around the British Embassy. We don't want to leave the city in order to avoid a confrontation. Thank you." He hangs up. "Launch a Hornet to confirm the Australian's position."

Russian Ambassador Sergei Maximov going through paperwork when the RVS Station Chief walks into his office, "Ah Vladimir, what can I do for you?" The Station Chief speaks up, "Well sir representatives for North Korea, China, the United States and South Korea are meeting right here in Beijing and it has to deal with what's happening in North Korea." Sergei picks up his phone and calls President Jinping. " President Jinping can you explain why Russia wasn't invited to the meeting dealing with North Korea."

After all, they were expecting to meet with Russian officials in the morning, so nighttime for the 8-9 hour flight would be good.

In no time at all, they responded back.

"Good evening, Air Canada 9788, pushback approved, expect Runway 26L."

"Pushback approved, Runway 26L, Air Canada 9788."

As Anderson pushed back, Quinn set the transponder and turned on the beaker.

Back in the cabin, most of the passengers had finally gone to sleep, as it was getting extremely late, approximately 1:30 AM their time.

Vladivostok Airport

6:45 PM Vladivostok Time

"OK... here we go. We're touching down soon.", Anderson said as he deployed the landing gear and shut the autopilot off. He then reduced the speed as Flight 9788 touched down on the runway, more specifically, Runway 25R.

"Air Canada 9788, please contact Ground at 121.7."

Quinn applied reverse thrust and set the spoilers accordingly as Anderson tuned to the correct frequency.

"Good evening, Vladivostok Ground, this is Air Canada 9788."

"Good evening. Air Canada 9788, please let me know when you're ready to taxi."

"I'll apply the brakes, and we'll be ready to go." Anderson muttered, as he did so.

"OK, we're ready to taxi."

"Air Canada 9788, cross Runway 07R, and follow the path to the ramp."

"Cross 07R and follow the path to the ramp, Air Canada 9788."

Quinn took over the work, as he shut off the landing lights and turned on the taxi lights, set the spoilers and flaps, shut off the transponder, and lowered their speed, as they taxied to the ramp. After a few minutes, they were at the ramp and parked the Airbus A330.

Anderson set the prakes, set the throttle to idle, turned off the engines, and turned all of the exterior lights off. Quinn then turned on the airstairs, and the 4 passengers left the jet.

They then entered the hangar that their Russian counterparts were in. Terrance Joseph was the first to greet the Russians.

"Hello, I am Gen. Terrance Joseph with the Canadian Army. I presume you're Minister for Defense Sergey Shogyu? Anyway, with me are Gen. James Russell, representing the Canadian Armed Forces, and we have 2 counterterrorism and law enforcement experts with us, Head of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service's Toronto Division Tomas Sandoval, and Head of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police's A Division Kyle Griffith." Joseph shook Shogyu's hand.

Anti-war Protests Worldwide!

Following the deadly clash in the South China Sea, anti-war protests erupted worldwide. Nations with protests in them included the US, UK, France, Germany, Australia, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, Poland and Canada. In certain places, such as Warsaw, Prague and Ottawa, protests turned into riots as anti-war demonstrators set fire to buildings, attacked random bystanders and destroyed car windows. Online the fears of a possible "World War III" manifested itself in a common internet phenomenon known as "memes". Fears of a draft spread widely through social media and the U.S. Selective Service website crashed.

Srinagar,
Jammu and Kashmir,
Republic of India

A man loyal to the Jaish-e-Mohammed group silently on the rooftop as most people went along their day. In his lap sat a Romanian PSL rifle, a relic of the war in Afghanistan against the Soviets. The man was a longtime veteran, having fought against the Soviets, the Americans, and now the Indians. He pulled up his rifle and looked at it. It had markings all over it, all denoting a time in which he had taken the life of an enemy. He remembered every one. Twelve Soviets, five Americans, and two Indians. Today, he would claim even more.

The man got into position overlooking the Jhelum River. The bridge across the river was flowing with dozens of cars. His first target: a bus driver in the center of the bridge. Adjusting for wind speed and the Coriolis Effect, he nailed his target right in the head, pitting the bus to a screeching halt. People came running out, right into his line of fire. His second victim was a woman running out of the steps of the bus.

By now the entire side of the bridge had been put into a standstill. He used this opportunity to hit two more targets sitting in their cars. Finally, people all over the bridge realized what was happening and began running for their lives. A few more rounds into the crowd came flying from his rifle before he packed up to leave.

As he ran down the stairs he heard the sound of sirens outside. When he reached the second level he heard police breaching the building. Fuck. The man thought to himself. He hadn’t expected police to arrive this soon. Instead of continuing down the stairs, the man trained his rifle down towards the approaching officers. He killed the first officer coming up instantly with a round straight through the chest. Gunfire came flying forwards him in retaliation as he tried to hit a second. He finally managed to hit the second in the leg before gunfire pierced through him.

The retreated up the stairs, several bullet holes all through him. He didn’t make it far before not being able to move anymore. In his last moments, he reached into his breast pocket for a detonator for a bomb he had planned to detonate at an administrative building. He had no choice now, it was in his bag slouched across his back. The man closed his eyes as he pressed the detonator...

Barely a few hours after news of the attack in Kashmir, three Hindu men stormed into a full Mosque in Karachi during prayer hour. They were armed with one AK-47, a Skorpion SMG, and a Lee Enfield MK III respectively. The three men opened fire into the crowd at will, screaming bloody revenge for the fallen Hindus in Kashmir.

After minutes of endless gunfire, the Mosque was stormed by police officers and all three men were swiftly gunned down. However the effects of the violence couldn’t be undone. Over forty civilians had been shot dead by the men. Combined, the Kashmir and Karachi attacks were responsible for a hundred casualties.

The sound of gunfire and mortars erupted across the city of Grozny as militants assaulted positions all over the city. Hundreds of armed fighters had stormed the city, inspired by the terror attack by two brothers earlier in the month. Targets included police stations and government buildings. A video was released online by the new self-proclaimed leader of the Wilayah al-Qawqaz, who simply called himself "The Lion". The Lion declared that Chechnya must be free of the "Infidels of Moscow" and called for a Jihad against the Russian Federation.

The Taal Volcano in the Phillipines erupted again for the first time in 43 years. The eruption spewed ashes to Calabarzon, Metro Manila, and some parts of Central Luzon, which cancelled classes, work schedules, and flights. Ashfalls and volcanic thunderstorms were reported, and forced evacuations were made. Dangers of possible volcanic tsunami were also warned. The volcano produced volcanic lightning above its crater with ash clouds. The eruption progressed into magmatic eruption characterized by lava fountain with thunder and lightning.

Tokyo, Japan

"Prime Minister, we have been having riots all over the streets of Tokyo for our involvement in the South China Sea. Do you want to send the National Police Force against them?" "Send in the NPF, and if needed, mobilize the Self Defense-Force. How bad is it?" "Only a few people have joined the protests, but more than likely most of Tokyo is willing to take their side. I recommend caution." "Correct, don't order any extreme measures."

5 hours later

When one soldier opens fire on a civilian out of nervousness, things can escalate pretty quickly. That happened 5 hours ago in downtown Tokyo.A young officer shot a Japanese civilian after multiple buildings were set on fire. The news spread pretty quickly, and after about a hour, there were multiple other protests across the city of Tokyo. After this, the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force was called into Tokyo. While this quelled most of the protests throughout the city, the protest in the South of the city continued to grow. After 3 hours of containment, the JGSDF managed to disperse the crowd with riot troopers, tear gas, and tanks rolling through.

Home Office of the Prime Minister.
An aide stepped in, "Prime Minister, we have a situation unfolding in Prague." The PM looked up, "What's happening?" He asked, bewildered."Many anti-war protesters are rioting in the streets, we need a course of action, Prime Minister." "Those Leopard twos, our crews trained on them with the germans, correct?" The Aide nodded, "What are you thinking, Prime Minister?" He looked up, "It's time for a test of the Urban Pacification kits, deploy the new Tank Battalion to Prague, along with a company of military police. I want the National police deploying riot and armored units into Prague, along with a Reserve Company of Infantry to be mobilized and sent to the city." Another aide walked in, "Prime Minister, are you ready for the trip to Warsaw?" The PM nodded, "Yes, I am ready." He was escorted by an armed unit of National police, to a waiting Military Mil Mi-8, where he was airlifted to Prague International. From there, he boarded a Challenger 600 and was flown out, escorted by a flight of Gripens.

Prague.
The National Police Special riot unit slammed their batons into their shields for a final time, then charged forwards into the rioters. Batons met skulls as the rioters were pushed back, then pushed THEM back with sheer numbers. The national police lured them back onto a one-way street, with one intersection. Then police BRDMs flanked them, cutting off the side exits. They where reinforced by another group of riot police, fortifying the positions of the armored cars. Then, tank treads met pavement, as the 3rd Platoon of the 4th Armored Battalion drove into Prague, followed by a motorized unit of MPs. The National police broke off of the north and south exits, still staying on the east and west. The Tanks formed two abreast, as they took up positions on the North and South. They had boxed the rioters in, and they had no escape routes.

A rioter reached into his waistband and drew a CZ-75.

"Male by the trashcan, 400 meters."

"Wind 4.6 knots, adjust."

"Adjusted."

"Drop 'em."

The Sniper fired the Artic Warfare, beheading the Would-be shooter. Brain matter splattered the wall behind him and galvanized the protesters. They Surged forwards towards the national police, mobbing them and forcing themselves over the BRDM. They split into a bunch of smaller groups, fanning out into nearby streets. They had escaped and would need to be contained. The reserve infantry company was called in, and set up Checkpoints around Prague, assisted by the MPs and tank crewmen. 2 Mechanized Companies were brought into the city to restore order, and the city was effectively under military control. Military Numbers where about 1,400 men in total.

Reorganization of the Military
The Almost 45,000 man expansion was received well, with 10 new regiments of 3,500 men being formed into 2 new separate divisions. The rest of the land forces men were put into new Independent Regiments, or just reinforcing already existing units.

Along with this, 2 new Fighter Squadrons were formed of 12 planes each, with a new Refueling Squadron and AWACS squadron also being established. New Transportation Squadrons were established of the new Transport planes and Blackhawks. New Attack Helicopter squadrons were also established.

Special forces and some regular troops sat around in the Czech Regional base, shooting the shit with each other. They messed around, throwing darts at boards and such. They hadn't got almost any action, aside from a wandering NK loyalist who got their hands on an AKM. Having learned the deaths of about everyone in Pyongyang, the government was sitll in the proccess of deciding if to just bring them back, or keep them there for something.

"OK...

Sergey shook each man's hands before speaking, "We welcome you all to the Russian Federation and on behalf of President Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federation, we thank for your assistance in this matter. If you would follow me to the helicopters." Sergey guides the group to 4 Mi-35 Hind E Attack helicopters which will take them to the Russian FOB in North Korea. The group climbed into the helicopters which then took off towards the FOB.

A colonel taps Sergey on the shoulder then whispered in his ear. Sergey cursed in Russian, "Fuck!!!!" He turns towards the Canadians be speaking in Russian accented English, "I will have to head back to Moscow as we are another rebellion in Chechnya. I apologize for the inconvenience but General Asimov will keep the four of you safe as well as 3 Spetznaz Platoons that will also be there for your protection.

Unrest in the Capital

"Mister President, you're here." Rafal Trzaskowski, the mayor of Warsaw said and rose from behind his desk. The police chief and a number of local city officials turned and greeted president Duda as he strode into the office.

"The demonstrations have devolved into a riot out there. Cars have been torched, people have been assaulted, one person had been rushed to the Warsaw Critical Care Center fifteen minutes ago." The President said in an agitated tone. "We need to get this under control as soon as possible before the Czech Prime Minister comes here. We can't receive international dignitaries and state guests when fringes are beating on each other and smashing shop windows. Damages are estimated at around three million zlotys, and counting." Duda said in a low tone, face dour and fist clenched.

"Don't worry Mister President." The Police Chief said confidently. "The rioting have mostly been confined to Kamionek and we are surrounding the area before moving in to disperse the rioters and we'll arrest the ringleaders, we'll be holding them charged for disruption of the peace and if we can prove it, destruction of property and assault. With them behind bars, at least for the time being the rest of them should clear out soon after a taste of tear gas if need be."

"I don't want you to use excessive force, no more than necessary. No rubber bullets." The Mayor said. "If any Warsaw police officer applies excessive force they will heavily reprimanded. Tear-gas and water-cannons only unless the situation proves worse than we expected."

"Do you have enough people to handle the unrest?" The President asked, turning to the Mayor who nodded.

"Yes, I believe so. We're in close contact with city authorities in Nowy Dwor, Wyszkow and Minsk Mazowiecki. The mayors have assured me that they'll send police reinforcements if the law enforcement in Warsaw proves insufficient."

"Which it won't." The Police Chief assured.

"Good, I don't want to have to call out the Military Police on the streets of the capital. We can't allow the bloodshed in Prague to happen here as well."

What began as a small movement of mostly women organizing themselves on social media, soon joined by parents. Who placed grave-lights, flowers and candles along the side of a road under signs which said, Don't take my son! No to Conscription! I won't raise fatherless children! Leave my brother alone! and such similar slogans soon grew into a movement that brought around ten thousand people out on a procession across the city which passed outside the Ministry of National Defense before laying wreaths and lighting candles at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The procession was mostly peaceful, watched over by police who kept them from bumping into a smaller counter-demonstration organized by the far-right ONR Party. At the same time however, small groups of left-wing radicals had organized in the Praga Poludnie district of the city and they soon clashed with the right wing radicals before the police could break the two groups apart while arresting several of the ONR's instigators of violence. The radical left-wing protesters had moved toward the Saska Kepa Business Center construction site while smashing car windows and storefronts chanting "No to Capitalism!", "Stop the Business Center!" and "Warsaw is not a playground for billionaires!".

Riot police had been called out in force and blocked the procession from continuing, the demonstrators then pelted the police with rocks but when police reinforcements arrived, the long arm of the law reached out with tear gas and water cannons before moving forward and breaking up the block of demonstrators by force, making over a dozen arrests. Of course, in the chaos not much could be proved against either of them but it seemed that the worst of the violence had abated for now. There were still pockets of demonstrators out chanting slogans but with the ONR relegated to a small square in the Brodno district with heavy police presence watching for any signs of further violence and with both them and the left-wing radicals deprived of their main instigators and leaders, it seemed the worst of the violence was over for now. Later that very same day, in a press conference held by the government the Mayor Trzaskowski of Warsaw went out with an official statement that the Police would be on heightened alert over the next few weeks to quickly respond to more violence if needed. President Duda then spoke of the inherent democratic right to free expression and expressed sympathy with the peaceful demonstration, however he also stated Polish defense policy was sound and the support of a larger, more modern armed force was the price of deterring any aggression. Defense Minister Blaszczak reiterated the President's point, but also went out with a promise that Poland would not reinstate conscription, stating many reasons for it and promising that if not for an extreme situation, he would not bring the matter of conscription to government consideration.

WAR ERUPTS AS SOMALILAND DECLARES IT'S INDEPENDANCE!

Earlier this week an ex-North Korean freighter carrying armour and small arms was hijacked by Somaliland separatist in preparation for an upcoming war. After news broke through of the successful operation, the would-be capital of Somaliland, Hargeisa, turned into a warzone between separatists and SAF garrisons. The fighting lasted a total of six hours before the SAF, who had been taken by surprise, were driven out of the city. Only moments later, the would-be president of Somaliland made a speech regarding the situation "The cowards of Somalia could never think Somaliland would rise up against it, today brothers and sisters we showed them that their biggest nightmares are in fact real and that we will not stop until every bit of Somalian blood has been used to make the rivers run red. We will not be stopped until this Comedian of a President steps down and faces the reality that his Government is not fit for rule! Today is a day for the history books! Today Somaliland announces its independence from the Anarchists of Somaliland!"

This speech was met with a missile barrage from the SAF which destroyed many buildings and caused around 160 civilian casualties, this strike seemed to be ineffective as the would-be government of Punt land has joined forces with Somaliland rebels to cause the Federal Republic to lose the entirety of Northen Somalia, however, the hold of this new territory is on the brink of collapse as Somalian armored divisions are moving in to gain it back but they are being met with heavy RPG fire and frequent ambushes in the city.

ALL CITIZENS LIVING IN THE NORTHEN REGION OF SOMALIA ARE URGED TO EVACUATE TO THE SOUTHERN REGION SO THEY CAN BE PROTECTED BY THE SOMALI ARMED FORCES!

Breaking news! Reports of one of the SAF BM-21s being destroyed along with 3 Walker bulldog tanks and 8 BTR-60s in Somaliland's operation "Gods will" has been confirmed by multiple sources, this failure by the SAF has caused the army to retreat further south and create a defensive position there. The Somali military high command promises to deliver an "Undefeatable Counterattack" that would push the newly founded SLAF back to where it started, however, the public is skeptical and the President is also worried that the people that control the forces arent exactly fit for the job thus causing these humiliating defeats.

Tune in to Somalia Today for more news and updates!

Srinagar, Kashmir, India

Smoke poured out of the bombed building as people frantically ran around in utter terror and confusion. Once it was realized the terrorist had detonated a suicide vest, hundreds of people started crowding the bridge. News channels would air the panic as it was seen. People would be rushing out of their houses, checking to see if their friends and family were safe, the massive crowd spawned stampedes, and many got trampled under the panicked rush of citizens. Eventually, the police managed to clear the crowd out and investigate the attack.

Immediately as orders came, the Indian army was being deployed to Srinagar, where they would enforce a strict curfew. The attacker was clearly a radical Islamic terrorist, however, the particular group he was from was unknown. It was suspected that he was a member of Jaise-e-Mohammed, an Islamist paramilitary group sheltered by the government of Pakistan. However, RAW began an investigation into the man and his background, seeing if had any connections to suspected groups and Pakistan.

New Delhi, India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately scheduled an emergency speech following the attack, which he would give form his own office in New Delhi. The speech was being televised to millions in India and worldwide, as the country anxiously waited for their leader’s response to the terrorist attack.

"My fellow Indians, sons of Bharat, I am as shocked as you are by this horrifying incident. Before we begin, I would like to speak a word of prayer to make sure the victims of the attack have a safe and prosperous reincarnation, and may they live their future lives in peace." Modi silently whispered the Hindu prayer of peace, ending with Om Shānti, Shānti, Shānti. He proceeded to take a 10 second moment of silence.

Then he began, "This day, the Republic of India has faced an attack from a cowardly terrorist. A terrorist who believes that attacking innocent people will achieve him his political goals. Let it be said on record that this will do nothing to break the spirit of the Indian people. In fact, it will just make us stronger. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families."

"We will not rest until those responsible for this are completely and utterly annihilated. The masterminds behind this attack shall face annihilation. Our intelligence department, RAW, is conducting an investigation determining which group - and who, is behind this attack. I will not sleep peacefully until the souls of these victims have been avenged, and I vow that the ones responsible for this attack are going pay for it. Thank you."
