Cup of Harmony 76

The Filindostan Football Federation is pleased to present the Filindostan National football team, to compete in the 76th Cup of Harmony in Banija and Xanneria.

About the Filindostan Football Federation

The Filindostan Football Federation (FFF) was founded after they split from the Filindostani National Sports Commission (FNSC), citing the FNSC's tainted image during the Multiverse Boxing.ccanization boxing tournament and the budget cut the agency suffered. The newly-established federation caters to the nation's footballing affairs and sanctions the selection of the senior, under-21 and under-15 squads. The FNSC will remain the agency for fielding other national football teams that are not sanctioned by the FFF.

The FFF's headquarters are located in San Marco, Filindostan, and is headed by Estrelitta "Estie" Barzagia.

Playing Squad

In Filindostan, people are often called by their nickname. Some players opt to put their nickname instead of the customary last name in their kits. The shirt names for the squad are noted by ALL CAPS. So for example, Alexander Jampang's shirt name in his kit is ALEX JAMPANG. Likewise Antonio Rafael Vera will have his kit name as TONYO.

After Ethel Toh took over the managerial duties, she ordered the change in kit names, bearing the surname of the player and the initials. For example, before the Toh era, Cahya Kartawijaya had her kit name as 'CAHYA', but during the Toh era, it is currently 'C.S. KARTAWIJAYA'. New manager Xavier Rinoso looks to keep the new trend moving forward, with one exception - singular names will be kept singular (e.g. Dwi, Sutikno, Siharto, etc.)

The following players are called up into the national team for the tournament.

Kits
Image

Local kit supplier, No Nonsense, provides the kits for the Pula Garuda. The kits will be used until the World Cup 84 season, where they are expected to switch to a new kit manufacturer. They have used the current kits from their debut in the Baptism of Fire tournament which they won. The home kits are clad in red and are usually paired with black shorts and white socks. For color clashes in shorts and socks, they use their all red kit. Their alternate kit is white, usually with red shorts and socks, but can be black shorts and white socks in case of color clashes. The goalie kit is all black (or in black shorts and socks), but in case of color clashes, a yellow version of the GK kit is available.

Team RP and Permissions
The below information will help teams RP against my team in case they RP first.

Lineups
Krisna Hendra Sudirman always loves a 3-at-the-front formation, based from his Venividicci lineups whilst being a manager there. The selection of wingback players who can also play center back have put hints about him possibly playing either a 4-3-3 or a 3-4-3 lineup. Despite putting three at front, he employs a defensive midfielder, which puts balance to his playstyle. He did not impose this style at the World Cup 84 qualifiers knowing that disrupting their formation early on would put his players with a lot of stress.

Unlike previous managers who do not have a set lineup, he chooses his starters once tune up friendlies are done, and will do so once the team arrives at the host nation.

Play Style
Historically, the play style of the team is of a more attacking lineup, looking to score more goal scoring opportunities. The team usually utilize pacey wingers to deliver dangerous balls to the penalty box, usually during coordinated attacks. Filindostani players are usually physical, especially the defenders. Cautions are mostly common due to their physical plays.

With Sudirman's appointment as manager, he will try to balance the style of his team, balanced between attack and defense.

Fans
Filindostani fans are double-edged swords - sometimes they are most passionate fans in Filindostan, sometimes, they can be compared to the worst of internet trolls. Around five thousand diehard fans will travel to the host nation to watch their team play - but they usually bring their megaphones and flares with them - they somehow make it past the guards. Some fans are crazy enough to invade the pitch and cause match delays.

  • Marke Larsin (CB, N65, A24) reliable defender that could very well be playing in the first 11.
  • Dano Lekser (CB, N41, A28) Defender that does his job simply and very efficiently. His lack of pace gets him benched a lot.

    Wingers
  • Tanel Tayman* (LM, N7, A27) talented and quick dribbler, makes a lot of assists.
  • Enzo Amor (LM, N77, A21) A failed wonderkid, very talented but doesn't have a professional attitude, plays because nobody else can.
  • Reki Reizo* (RM, N20, A28) Technically strong right midfielder that is good at shooting and long passing, doesn't dribble as much as Tayman.
  • Egan Duman (RM, N61, A26) A carbon copy of Reki Reizo, can be swapped and nobody would see the difference.

    Strikers
  • Ante Nekir* (ST, N9, A24) Striker that can fire rockets with both feet. has good movement to make up for his lack of pace.
  • Paletar Soros* (ST, N11, A25) Tall aerial threat. has great chemistry with Nekir.
  • Federik Umar (ST, N21, A29) Quick striker, doesn't get played much since he can't link up with Nekir.

Introduction

Despite a relatively poor World Cup 84 Qualifiers, Flavovespia will for a second time in a row, compete in the Cup of Harmony. Richard Crawford has made some changes to the 23 man squad called up to the Qualifiers, as Flavovespia hope to improve both on the Qualifiers and their last Cup of Harmony performance

Kit

Image

Flavovespia go into this cycle with some new kits, and they are very striking. After the more subdued design for their inaugural campaign, the kit designer went with a much more visual display. The Double V now flies over the shoulders, and curves downwards into the chest and torso of the body. This design reflects the flag of Flavovespia, whilst not simply pasting the Double V onto the kit. The whole design has been described as “retro” and “old-school” by many who have seen it. Black shorts and socks go with it, also using a curved double V in yellow as trim on the kit.

Where necessary, Flavovespia have a black away kit again. This, the shorts and socks, are what is known as a “palette reversal”, the same kit template but with reversed colours. These designs stem from the rules of club football, which rarely permit a team to use bespoke shorts and socks outside of their registered home and away kits. Thus often teams seek to have shorts and socks on both kits that work with home and away shirts, although this isn’t essential.

The third kit is unusual for Flavovespia, in that it uses a colour template not seen before. Once again it is white, a typical away or third kit colour. However, despite the use of the template from the home and away kit, the trim is red and blue. Officially this is for occasions where it’s not suitable to wear kits featuring yellow and/or black. In practice, the red and blue are a subtle nod to the cities of Hadford Hill and St Astons. Both in the past felt that the colours and national identity of Flavovespia were an extension of the capital Waldster, and in the past those complaints were seen by many as very reasonable. This kit in some ways tries to come up with a way of better reflecting all parts of the nation.

Roster

Number Name Age, Position Club Caps Goals

Goalkeepers

1 David Meehan 29 GK Bavingtor 26 0
It is hard to dispute David Meehan as the starting goalkeeper for Flavovespia, although some do try. His form at the WCQ 84 was by no means perfect, and he knows that. However matches where he wasn’t between the posts saw a lack of confidence for Flavovespia at the back. On that kind of form, it’s likely Meehan, assuming past injuries don’t return, is likely at least for a few more years to be a part of the Flavovespia setup.

23 Robert Jones 25 GK Kings Lunsel 1 0

Jones made his one and only appearance so far for Flavovespia in a 2-2 draw versus unfancied Furby Island in the last Qualifiers. He didn’t impress particularly, and Meehan was definitely the better keeper for the side. However in comparison to Andrew Bullivant, Jones edged it, and domestic performances means he gets the nod to go to Banija & Xanneria for the Cup of Harmony 76.

31 Richard Hartwell 25 GK Capital FC (Xanneria) 0 0

Richard Hartwell becomes the first player to be called up for a Flavovespia national team, whilst playing his domestic football outside of Flavovespia. The goalkeeper left Stanmorn, managed at the time by manager Richard Crawford, in the pursuit of foreign domestic football abroad and the chance for a call up. Playing in the Xannerian FLOX Omega Division is a baptism of fire for any goalkeeper, with Xannerian football taking a “relaxed” attitude to defending. Nevertheless, he has performed well, and gets himself an international call-up.

Left Backs

2 Ronald Maddox 28 DEF Marthorpe City 36 2

Maddox isn’t one of the stars of the Flavovespia side, but is a very dependable option at left back, and has played in many of their games. At club level he plays more as a wing back, and his attacking tendencies can sometimes still be seen at international level. Nevertheless, he has adapted well to playing a more defensive style at international level, and does still make the odd run forward. At his age and level of play, it’s likely he can add further to the 36 caps he already has.

32 Scott Vaughan 27 DEF Kings Lunsel 0 0

Scott Vaughan has been called up for the first time for Flavovespia, displacing Joseph Pitchford as the back-up left back. Vaughan plays left back in a very traditional 4-4-2 formation, and has begun to really shine through at club level with his work defensively. He isn’t a defender likely to make many runs forward or to try and attack or build from the back. What he does bring however, is the ability to try and make himself a real handful for any right winger to deal with. He’ll hope to get some game time off the bench, and do enough to persuade Crawford to give him more caps in future tournaments.

Centre Backs

4 Mark James 30 DEF Marthorpe City 37 1

Mark James, famous for his distinctive long hair and hairband in Flavovespia, has turned into a solid player for the national side. His peak performance probably isn’t the highest of the players in the side, or even the defence, but he is a defender who seems to give it a good go, every game. At his age, he’ll probably be looking to do enough to stay in the side for a few more years, and to provide a sense of veteran experience to the younger players.

5 Tony Gardner 24 DEF Kings Lunsel 37 1

One of those players who as a teen was touted as “one for the future”, Gardner is beginning to look like the star centre back he had the potential to reach. At his best, he can be very hard to get past, and looks confident and assured at the back. That said, he is still young, and has a tendency to make rash outbursts, on and off the pitch. Outspoken comments to referees, other players and the media haven’t endeared him to all, and he’s been on the end of some silly yellow and red cards. Nevertheless, if he can play at his best consistently, he’ll be a feature of Flavovespia’s side for a long time.

14 Neil Wright 24 DEF Stanmorn 21 0

Possibly not the most popular player in the national team. Wright, like Gardner was a “one for the future” at centre back, but hasn’t quite fulfilled his potential. He’s a rotation player for Flavovespia, and his form can be patchy. However, at his best, he is a competent and capable centre back, who can close down attackers and put in the blocks and tackles to thwart opposition goal scoring threats. At 24, there’s plenty of time for him to add to his caps so far.

Right Backs

3 Ian Johnson 27 DEF Binclestead Wood 24 0

Johnson didn’t cover himself in glory in the Qualifiers, but with so many changes to the setup, and the defensive woes, it’s hard to say that any of the defence did. Listed as a right back and playing as a right back for Flavovespia the majority of the time, he can also play the centre back role. He’s tall and strong, although not particularly pacey. Very much a traditional defender, who isn’t likely to get into advanced positions, but at the same time always getting back to close down players.

16 David Blythe 21 DEF Marthorpe City 6 0

One of the youngest players for Flavovespia, David Blythe continues to stay as a rotational right back option. Comparisons with Ronald Maddox are hard to ignore, as they both play at Marthorpe City, and are pacey wing back style of defenders. Blythe played sporadically in the qualifiers, and his over ambition going forward was noticeable at times. He has time to grow yet, and a good showing if he does play in the Cup of Harmony could set him up for several years in the national team.

26 Stephen Shepherd 26 DEF Waldster 13 0

Good club performances see Stephen Shepherd get recalled to the national team, having seen him on the 7 player reserve list for the Qualifiers. The decision to call up 3 right backs and 3 centre backs has surprised a few, although Johnson can also play centre back. Shepherd is equally adept at a full back or wing back role. His forte isn’t in flashy dribbling, hard tackling or powerful passes, but in good positioning and awareness, meaning he is beaten by skill of the opponent and not error. Shepherd could potentially become a squad regular, but could also drift out of the squad again.

Left Midfielders

8 David Michael 28 ATT Westwood Garden City 12 1

Officially listed as an “attacker”, David Michael has largely played as a left winger or left attacking midfielder, as opposed to a proper forward. Adapting to that role seemed to be tough at times for Michael, who is believed to now be outside the best XI according to sources. His acceleration and pace was a killer in the Super League, but internationally, struggled against better defences, and sometimes neglected the defensive side of his role. Nevertheless, he’s shown enough to warrant a squad place.

17 Jonathan Feld 25 MID Marthorpe City 26 2

Feld looks set to return as a starter for Flavovespia in the Cup of Harmony 76. Crawford’s 4-2-2-2 seem to suit Feld, as he could play the left attacking midfielder role well, especially with club in the national team as world. Feld doesn’t have a standout strength or weakness, and can also be somewhat of a utility player, dropping into central midfield or anywhere across the attacking midfield. Only 25, although to some he feels like he’s been around longer than that. A player who may not be a superstar, but has a reliable baseline performance.

Central Midfielders

6 Alan Holt 28 MID Hadford Hill 15 1

Not a standout success at the Qualifiers, although with a lot of the team struggling, Holt has seemingly done enough to keep a starting role for Flavovespia. He plays as a central defensive midfielder or a central midfielder. He isn’t afraid to try and hustle the midfield playmakers of the opposition across the field, down the centre or on the flanks. Not the best of passers or dribblers, although surprisingly dangerous from a long shot, if he gets in that sort of position. A reasonable mature player, even if his role inevitably results in some fouls and cards.

7 James King 29 MID Stanmorn 44 5 (Vice-Captain)

King seemed to take a considerable amount of criticism at the Qualifiers, although others felt that was unwarranted and expectations on him were too high. Seen by most as the best central midfielder in Flavovespia, and arguably near the top of the best players in Flavovespia list. His passing and set piece abilities are second to none in the nation, and he looks confident on the ball. Maybe his one flaw is in defensive work, but it’s hard to say King isn’t an important part of the national team setup.

18 Jordaan Wolfson 32 MID Kings Lunsel 16 1

One of the elder players in the side, Wolfson is an experienced back up for the central midfield, especially in a more defensive situation. Good tackling and ball retention, albeit not as strong as the starters makes him a very useful player for coming off the bench. His presence in the squad will hopefully guide some of the younger players. Strong for Kings Lunsel, if he keeps it up there’s a chance he can prolong his international career.

19 Nigel Humphries 28 MID Hadford Hill 10 1

A central midfielder by trade, he does also play as a right midfielder, central attacking midfielder or a right attacking midfielder. Humphries spent a lot of the Qualifiers as a rotation player, coming off the bench when needed. He was shuffled around a lot of positions, making it hard to properly evaluate his performances. His shorting passing and visions are his strengths, although longer balls aren’t quite his best trait. Likely to continue to be a rotation player for now, unless he has a surprise breakout tournament.

Right Midfielders

11 Steven Hall 26 MID Hadford Hill 46 16 (captain)

Considered Flavovespia’s top player by many, and has been a stalwart for the national side since it began playing. Flavovespia’s captain plays on the right attacking midfield, in what is considered the “Raumdeuter” role. Always looking for space to operate him, he’s dangerous when dribbling, passing or shooting. A captain popular with fans and players alike, an indispensable part of the national team. He looks the most likely to be the first to hit 50 caps, and very well 100 caps within 5 or so years at the rate he's going.

Attackers

9 Terence Daley 28 ATT Marthorpe City 20 4

Not a standout goalscorer in the Qualifiers, but did enough to gain the confidence of Crawford. Seen at club level as a more “fox in the box” type, in the 4-2-2-2 setup, he’s been the striker to hustle the defenders, and create space and chances for teammates, whilst also scoring a few of his own. In such a competitive attacking line up for Flavovespia, he must impress to keep the #9 shirt for future tournaments.

10 Scott Coleman 23 ATT Stanmorn 34 19
If anyone could be described as having a successful qualifiers, it’s Scott Coleman. With a streak of scoring in 5 consecutive games, Coleman over the past year as cemented himself as the top striker in Flavovespia it seems. When he can play off someone’s shoulder, his pace is explosive, and creates opportunities for goals, and can be dangerous for some defenders to deal with. His one main problem can be that he gets isolated in some games, and is also somewhat injury prone. He will hopefully get goals in this tournament.

20 Edward Barkes 28 ATT Hadford Hill 15 4
Barkes had a middle of the road set of performances for Flavovespia in his debut call up. In the Qualifiers, he largely was a rotation player, but bagged 3 goals in the first 5 games, before going off the boil. His early career he was a poacher, but now seems to act more as a playmaker forward, looking for the killer pass instead of the shot. A possible option to link up with Coleman and Hall if Daley isn’t chosen. At 28, he needs to perform well to get call ups in the next few years.

21 Marc Sharratt 22 ATT St Astons City 11 2
Sharratt was more of a rotation player coming off the bench a lot in the Qualifiers. However he did score an unforgettable winner in Filindostan. Another striker who plays best in a deeper position, to create the space for teammates, in a lone striker setup a “false nine” he would be. Another potential alternative to Daley, although he does have pace like Coleman as well. He still needs a bit of time to fully realise his abilities, but is getting close to that. At the age of 22, still has a lot of time for more caps.

29 Andrew Mason 28 ATT Stanmorn 25 6
A surprise call up to some, the Stanmorn strikers of Coleman and Mason, who were 26AU Super League title winners under Richard Crawford may again play alongside each other for Flavovespia. Mason isn’t a pacey, dribbler of the ball, but instead plays highest up the pitch. A physical and aerial threat, Mason can score what are described as “poacher’s goals” often. There’s a lot of competition to play up front for Flavovespia, so Mason needs to grab any opportunity he gets.

Manager
Richard Crawford 46

Took over just before halfway through the Qualifiers, having previously managed Stanmorn. A failure to get Flavovespia at least back to expectations means there is some pressure on him for the Cup of Harmony. A manager who has tried a few different tactics, but has seemingly settled on a 4-2-2-2 formation. He favours putting players into positions in his formation, instead of switching up formations for the players. A manager who tends to try and deflect scrutiny from the players and himself in interviews, and is relatively softly spoken.

Savojar Roster for CoH 76

TEAM

STAFF

Coach: Rune Zackrisson
Age: 55 // Coach since: WCQ 84
The young surprise Olaf Jurtanen had finally fallen to what was the Mad Professor’s known weakness: guidance of his players ended up being too poor, and he had lost first the team and then all chances for the World Cup. With no victory in the first six games, and a 3-1 loss in Balqia, the line had been crossed and the SFFB finally pulled the trigger on the Finn. In comes Rune Zackrisson, who guided CASK to three consecutive SFS titles before being sacked after a horrendous start to the season. The defeat seems to not have tarnished him too much, and he could somewhat reverse course with his fairly balanced play. Zackrisson plays out of the back with a solid midfield and defensive unit in order to allow his strikers maximum freedom. So far, it seems to work, as the Savojars have managed a promising second half of the campaign, most notably drawing the Free Republics in a spectacular game.

Coaching Team: Mikaela Rangren, Dmitri Simunov, Asgeir Rundberg
Ages: 45, 37, 62 // Special functions: Technical coach, Mental and Video coach, Physical trainer
Rangren got brought on board from the women's team by Jurtanen, but was kept by Zackrisson. In her previous function as the assistant of Lise Asbeck, she had shown a particular strength in keeping the team together, and it seemed like her continued presence as a mediator may have helped to get the team back on track quickly. Her main function is to serve as technical coach and guide trainings on the field.
Simunov has previously worked as video coach for the SFFB. Under Jurtanen, he was often busy to assist the meticulous tactical preparation of the Finn, but as Zackrisson is a much less detail-oriented manager, he is likely to achieve more autonomy in his preparation. Furthermore, the Russian serves as a link to Russian players who may struggle with Savojarsk (the main language of the team) and has a certification to work as a mental trainer.
Rundberg is the newest addition to the team and got introduced after criticisms that the team had not been sufficiently prepared for the long WCQ campaign. As physical and conditioning trainer, he has a reputation of a tough and demanding man, although he works closely with the medical team to ensure Savojarna's players are well prepared for their games.

Goalkeeper Coach: Valtteri Andersson
Age: 45
Andersson was a long-term goalkeeper for Energie Thorsborg and got directly transferred into the club's youth department when he retired at age 33. Following some good work with the club's youth department, he got trained as a GK coach and worked with the first team and the U21 of Energie for a while before being brought onto the squad of the NT early on. He still works with Energie on the side and is reputed to be very good at developing a goalkeeper's weaknesses.

Doctor: Dr. Christer Ljungberg
Age: 51
Christer is the head of the medical team of the Savojar NT and generally has a reputation of being the Team Dad. Many players have come to him over the years to discuss their insecurities or physical problems, to the point that many consider Ljungberg to essentially be a second mental coach.

TEAM

#1 Viktorija Petrova*
Position: GK // Age: 35 // Height: 186 cm // Club: RLSK Pawlograd
Petrova is at the heart of the recent successes of the Savojar team, most notably their Copa 31 victory where she had been the hero of the shootouts that carried the team to victory. She is known to use her height and agility to play as a reactive keeper who stays on the line and primarily advances in one on ones.

#2 Lars Jensen*
Position: LB // Age: 27 // Height: 179 cm // Club: CASK Thorsborg
Jensen is a strong tackler and hard to get past, often persistently marking his opponent even if he lost a duel and trying to fight his way back. Like all Savojar wingbacks, he is a fast player and an excellent crosser, meaning that he will often join the attack. This is a quality that Jurkanen actively selects for and we can expect to see many advances.

#3 Simon Omark*
Position: CB // Age: 29 // Height: 178 cm // Club: ASK Landsmark
Omark is a strategically smart and ball-secure modern CB. He will secure the ball and organise the game from the back. In the air, he suffers from his comparatively lower height, but he compensates it with speed and intelligence. His tackles are often very well-timed, although compared to other Savojar CBs he somewhat lacks aggressiveness.

#4 Joonas Andersson*
Position: DM // Age: 32 // Height: 187 cm // Club: Admiral Storevik
Andersson is the defensive anchor point of the Savojar midfield. He is not very fast, but has excellent judgment and tackling skills, making him the pivot of the defence. He will often drop back between the two CB's if Savojarna have the ball and secure the defence to allow the wingbacks to overlap. Also regularly drops back against wide teams, as he is taller than most CB's in the roster and can help with aerial defence.

#5 Matts Pedersen
Position: LB // Age: 22 // Height: 185 cm // Club: Tanrısal (PAS)
Pedersen is another fast, aggressive fullback who is extremely persistent, but joins the offence a bit more aggressively than Jensen. This leads to him being vulnerable to counters over the left side, where he might not be able to react in time if he was too advanced before. He has excellent 1v1 skills on both sides of the ball, but is a bit lacking in passing accuracy. The CR is his first tournament for the national team.

#6 Niklas Hoyberg*
Position: CM // Age: 27 // Height: 194 cm // Club: Dynamo Sjoedrhavn
Hoyman plays a regista role similar to Andrea Pirlo, organising the game from the back. His strength is a pinpoint accuracy in longer balls as well as a good eye, which means he will be distributing the balls to the front four or go up the pitch himself if he has space. He is also a very strong header, which means that he will often go up for standards. Hoyberg's biggest weakness is that he is often passed rather easily in defence, which is balanced by a defensively oriented midfielder next to him.

#7 Mikhail Jashkin*
Position: RF // Age: 22 // Height: 176 cm // Club: Farrenton Athletic (EUR)
A fast and technically gifted hybrid winger who is known for a deadly eye and his laser-like passes. While he has decent crossing skills, he tends to opt for a flat pass into the box or a dribbling instead, acting almost as a false nine that plays wide on the right. He is one of the most observed players on the team and his move to Eura two years ago has greatly helped him to develop further into the dominating forward he is today.

#8 Victoria Maersk
Position: CM // Age: 26 // Height: 157 cm // Club: North Sabrefell (NPH)
Maersk is a classical box-to-box allrounder who is strong in most tasks, besides her aerial inferiority due to height, and has a high stamina and speed. While not excelling at anything, she is considered a utility player that will probably see a lot of playtime in various positions and roles depending on the situation. Her future is unknown as she is in negotiation with multiple clubs following the integration of the men's and women's leagues and dissolution of her women's club.

#9 Arvid Jotansson
Position: ST // Age: 26 // Height: 192 cm // Club: Admiral Storevik
Jotansson can assume a more forward role or something akin to a false nine, but is more at home in the box. He is a tall, physical striker who is not particularly fast, but very hard to separate from the ball and has a strong shot as well as a good eye for his teammates. A likely substitution against defensive sides or in the final minutes, as he is also a good worker who is not shy to do defensive work.

#10 Jesper Groen
Position: LM // Age: 27 // Height: 182 cm // Club: ASK Landsmark
Groen is an unspectacular player who is mainly on the team to serve as a utility player when leads need to be defended. He is a conservative LM who runs a lot and has a very accurate cross, but is less likely to score himself. Thanks to a great sense of position and a willingness to work backwards, Groen gives the team more stability. He is playing his first Copa under Jurtanen, but previously played in the Men's NT.

#11 Freya Sigurdsdottir*
Position: ST // Age: 32 // Height: 193 cm // Club: ESK Storevik
At 193 cm, Freya Sigurdsdottir is the tallest striker of the Savojar squad. She is a box striker who likes to linger around the edge of the penalty area (or the enemy defence) and then use her speed to position herself in front of the goal for a rebound, cross or through pass. Expect her to score many goals especially against smaller opponents. Also known for extremely cold nerves, which is why she is a staple in the shootout.

#12 Thomas Larsen
Position: GK // Age: 26 // Height: 195 cm // Club: CASK Thorsborg
Considered almost equal to Petrova and one of the best goalies of Savojarna, but in her shadow due to Petrova's NT pedigree. Larsen is similar to Petrova, but considered a bit more athletic and more likely to assume control of his box. Especially at standards and in crossing situations, he likes to use his height to pluck the ball out of the sky.

#13 Morten Poulsen
Position: OM // Age: 22 // Height: 180 cm // Club: Partisan Sjoedrhavn
Stepping into big footsteps, Poulsen is called up instead of the legend Petteri Hytönen. Despite Zackrisson knowing Hytönen well from their common time at CASK, he decided to rely on Morten Poulsen for the cup of Harmony. Despite occasionally lacking defensive caution, he has already taken up a central point in a strong Partisan Sjoedrhavn side thanks to his superb passing and extensive stamina. It’s also expected that he will occasionally score thanks to very precise and strong shooting skills.

#14 Lenka Otalainen
Position: OM // Age: 28 // Height: 168 cm // Club: Savojars Vinge Virkaja
Otalainen is a classical playmaker who has superb passing skills and can play both in the box and in the offensive half or on the wing, but is a bit weaker defensively. She is likely to play if the Savojars fall behind and is remarkable thanks to her extremely precise shots even from longer distances. In the past Women's League seasons, she scored many goals from far out thanks to this skill.

#15 Ivan Grivoshenko
Position: RM // Age: 25 // Height: 182 cm // Club: Lokomotive Jarnstad
Ville Mertonen announced his wish to focus on his club career, leading to a gap behind Mikhail Jashkin that was filled by Grivoshenko, who got the call-up over Markus Mellin. The Lok winger played a core part in the championship of his team. He is a fast winger who likes to cut inside and will score a few goals if he gets his chances. He has excellent technique, but is often a bit negligent in defence. A special threat because he can use both feet almost equally well, and can also play on the left wing if required.

#16 Valentin Ljungberg
Position: DM // Age: 27 // Height: 185 cm // Club: Energie Thorsborg
Ljungberg is a defence-minded anchor who is comfortable distributing balls in a short range, but not a very creative player. He has received his first call-up following a very good first half of the season with Energie, where he has controlled the rear end to allow the five men and women before him to run circles around their opponents. Ljungberg has been considered perennially underestimated, and will be very highly motivated to prove the opposite in the upcoming few weeks.

#17 Sigurdur Arjonsson
Position: RB // Age: 27 // Height: 171 cm // Club: ESK Storevik
Arjonsson is the most defensive of all Savojar fullbacks, staying back often and being a very strong defender that is hard to get rid of. While his tackling and positional play is great, Arjonsson is relatively slow and struggles against fast opponents. He rarely played under Jurtanen due to a lack of forward drive, but chances are that the more stable play of Zackrisson sees him play more regularly.

#18 Perttu Karjanen* -- [C]
Position: ST // Age: 32 // Height: 176 cm // Club: Partisan Sjoedrhavn
Karjanen is the polar opposite of his usual mate Sigurdsdottir, as he uses his speed and technique to make up for his lower height. He often drops back into the space between the defence and the midfield to wait for balls and play in a combi with either winger or with Sigurdsdottir. As a veteran player and captain of the team, he is considered extremely important for the mentality of the side as well.

#19 Krister Voynov*
Position: LF // Age: 24 // Height: 177 cm // Club: Admiral Storevik
Potentially the most exciting single player in the Savojar team, this fast and skilful winger is a constant threat. Voynov loves to swing inside to challenge an opposing defender directly and is extremely good in 1v1 situations. He also scores many goals with a strong and precise shot, and has accurate passing skills as well. His main weakness is a lack of defensive work, forcing the left side to cover for his roaming. Currently being hunted by clubs from multiple nations.

#20 Linne Kjaer*
Position: CB // Age: 28 // Height: 182 cm // Club: Dynamo Sjoedrhavn
Similar to Omark, she is technically and positionally strong and knows what to do on the ball. Kjaer is somewhat slow but makes up for this mistake by knowing very well where to stand, and has a great skill in standing duels for the ball. Her tackles can be a bit shaky at times and may lead to mistakes or fouls, which is why she rarely resorts to them. Kjaer is also important as the organiser of the defence.

#21 Alexey Nurkanen*
Position: RB // Age: 27 // Height: 180 cm // Club: Libertas Bergheim
Nurkanen is very fast and a precise tackler, as well as having good judgment in building up plays. He often overlaps dangerously as well, having a great cross that can find the head of his teammates in the box. Nurkanen's stamina is lauded for often running up and down the line all day long, but he can sometimes be a bit out of the water when challenged in a fast counter due to his overlaps.

#22 Aleksandra Virulainen
Position: GK // Age: 20 // Height: 181 cm // Club: Savojars Vinge Virkaja U21
The only player to not be signed to a professional team, Virulainen is not expected to play much. This goalkeeper uses a great awareness and control of the box to counter-act her comparatively lower height and has shown brilliant oversight. She is probably the best goalkeeper of the team when it comes to ball-on-foot skills, and many see her as Petrova's eventual successor.

#23 Roman Forsberg
Position: CB // Age: 23 // Height: 188 cm // Club: Energie Thorsborg
Forsberg has occupied a central role in Energie’s success in reaching the third place in the League and the first cup victory in the club’s history. He is another one of the Savojar ball-secure, modern CB's, but shows some nerves at times. He is still prone to occasional over-aggressive positioning or similar faults. His best skill is his heading, as he is a very strong jumper and tall player, and Forsberg will often join the attack on standards. Despite having a core role at Energie, he is rumoured to look at a transfer abroad.

TACTICS

STYLE: +1

Although Zackrisson has been known as a relatively offensive coach at CASK, he has taken back the Savojar national team a bit, trying to achieve more defensive stability. The team is largely split, as the defenders and defensive midfielders stay back in order to allow the extremely talented forward unit to roam around freely. All three strikers are usually drawing towards the goal and can be a threat to score themselves, or find Sigurdsson in the centre. His side is said to focus more on traditional Savojar values such as physicality and fighting spirit. The main exception to the strong defensive outlook are the fullbacks, as they are skilled and fast players who will overlap if possible. Still, they can be expected to be significantly less aggressive than they have been under Jurtanen, and wait longer to join the attack.

MT socialist (mostly) island state - Cultural mixture of Scandinavia, Finland and Russia -Exports iron, steel, silver and wood - Low fantasy in terms of animal species - Sports-loving - 22.8 million inhabitants.

The adjective is Savojar; Savojarnan is not a word!
I am a student of (European) politics, ice hockey fan, left-wing communist bordering on anarchy, and European federalist. Enjoy!

After failing to win and earning only three points through six matches, Donnell was fired, replaced by former Brantisvogan manager Heldir Zaman. While the overall performance was still lackluster, Zaman got enough decent results, including a draw away to third-ranked South Covello, to hang onto the manager's position for the Cup of Harmony. No one is quite sure what to expect from the team at this CoH. Will they roll over and die, too discouraged by their failure in qualifying to put up a good showing? Or will they come storming back, aiming to prove that the first half of qualifying was a fluke? If they can find the form that led to a third-place finish at the most recent IAC, they'll have a decent chance to make the knockouts.

CoH 76 Roster
OOC: please note that I have not had time yet to update player stats, so these numbers do not include WC84 qualifying. Also, to avoid getting further out of sync with player ages in domestic competitions, it's somehow the same year as during qualifying, and no one has aged up. Fixture congestion is a myth.

Goalkeepers
Stovar Krieven - North Laithland (NPH) - 29 y/o - 19 caps - Male
Istaro Munib has officially retired from international football, and Krieven is his heir apparent. The one-time Interblag backstop has played his football in Nephara for a few years now, and looks set to be the first Confederate to play in the Premiership in consecutive years, after helping the Spiders to a mid-table finish in his first year in Lindmark. This hasn't been his finest club year statistically, as the Spiders endured some real beatings, but under Donnell's more conservative system, he should be left much less exposed. As a keeper, he is known for his athleticism and, increasingly, his *ahem* communication with his defense.
Kinner Mustahil - Chalesm FC - 31 y/o - 3 caps - Male
Mustahil seems to have finally rediscovered his form of years ago, helping to spur a rebirth at Chalesm, and adding his name to the national team roster for the first time since World Cup 81. On the field, he's a player who beats shooters with positioning and anticipation, rather than brute athleticism. Making that transition these past few years was a hard process for him, but he looks better than ever.
Kulap Erer - Emerald Coast - 31 y/o - 0 caps - Male
A lot of the things said about Ekewakan could probably also be said about Erer. He is a bit of a sweeper keeper sometimes, and chemistry with his back line will be important for overall defensive play in any caps he gets.

Left Backs
Djabgor Dzarkhin - Foxchester Raiders (STB) - 29 y/o - 55 caps - Male
Dependable, no-nonsense defensive fullback. Darkhin isn't going to score many goals, he's not going to thread pinpoint crosses in to your target man. What he's going to do is make life hell for your opposing right wing.
Danin Geladi - Hugh Town Millionaires (DAR) - 28 y/o - 41 caps - Male
Dzarkhin's opposite in almost every way. Eager to get forward, with a deft touch on his crosses. Geladi needs to play next to a center back with good speed and anticipation, because they will occasionally be called upon to cover for him when he's caught out of position.
Gisa Tuvas - Emerald Coast - 25 y/o - 0 caps - Female
Tuvas is much more well-rounded than either of the men ahead of her on the depth chart. She'll be trying to make the case that she's the best option going forward, and that the Boys' Club days of the Black-and-Reds defense should end.

Right Backs
Jinkzta Ulcviecel - Jinja City (BNJ) - 31 y/o - 63 caps - Male
BFA champion with Jinja City, Ulcviecel is without a doubt the most successful Confederate to take his talents abroad. His trademark speed has started to wane with age, but he's still a very capable player.
Janar Delu - Algolia AC - 29 y/o - 31 caps - Male
Delu's play with Algolia has been less impressive this year than in years past, but that could easily be said of almost every Suntiger. His international experience is invaluable, and Donnell is betting that his national team form will transcend Algolia's stuggles.
Jaylene Kazarov - Syneca AC - 24 y/o - 0 caps - Female
While Syneca's defense as a whole has been anything but impressive (their wins have come on the strength of their attack), Kazarov is an interesting case. She has elapsed Roskam for the starting job, and has a real nose for the ball. Many Syneca counterattacks start up their right wing with a well-placed outlet pass from Kazarov. Zaman, with his attacking flair, seems to favor her going forward, as Delu and Ulcviecel aren't getting any younger.

Center Backs
Tervi Oleb - Traal Athletics - 32 y/o - 67 caps - Male
Elder statesman, defensive captain, Oleb is a complete center back, even with his steadily advancing age. This may be his last chance
Rudi Dalso - Jaglan Royals - 28 y/o - 28 caps - Male
Dalso seems like he's having to single-handedly hold Royals' defense together these days, and doing a decent job of it. He'll likely welcome a little international play. The opposition may be tougher, but the players on either side of him will be a bit more dependable.
Skumantas Nakhutin - Gladerial United (VAL) - 30 y/o - 5 caps - Male
Taking a chance by leaving Traal to play in the Eternal Empire Nakhutin is an ambitious player, and wants to get proper playing time with the Black-and-Reds before age takes too much of a toll.
Roffen Ritschl - Vilitan Declasse (VIL) - 25 y/o - 0 caps - Male
Ritschl also took a chance, leaving Algolia for playing time in the Vilitan Declasse. Funny thing is, no one I talked to at Algolia seems to know exactly which club he was sold to. In any case, his promise is enough that Donnell will give him a look during qualifying. Ritschl's towering frame is a manager's dream, but whether he will fully grow into it with regard to his instincts and positioning remains to be seen.

Left Midfielders
Aatu Ruoho - Brantisvogan - 26 y/o - 22 caps - Male
Ruoho is the rising star of Brantisvogan, giving them hope for the future on the other side of the current rebuild. Fast and elusive, he is difficult to dispossess, and is equally likely to shoot or pass
Izoni Hocij - Chalesm - 25 y/o - 0 caps - Female
Hocij was a revelation with Chalesm, scoring at a pace no one expected. Able to play the ball with either foot, she is dangerous both when cutting inside to shoot or going wide around defenders. She has a habit of giving away free kicks after losing the ball, overzealously trying to win it back.
Lavanya Naqvi - Emerald Coast - 25 y/o - 8 caps - Female
Naqvi had a quieter season than some expected from a goalscoring perspective, as opposing superleague defenses were quick to swarm whenever she was on the ball, but she put up very creditable assist numbers, and is probably the best pure technician the Black-and-Reds have available.

Right Midfielders
Vrenz Tambura - Tekstil Ibon (MYT) - 29 y/o - 47 caps - Male
Tambura is most at home out right, but has plenty of experience on the left as well, and will readily range back and forth across the field as needed. He seems to find himself in the right place at the right time again and again.
Meaza Teklu - Megabrantid SC - 27 y/o - 4 caps - Female
Teklu is definitely a capable midfielder, but needs to prove that she is something more than the person who plays next to Takala at MSC. She's more of an assist-getter than goal scorer, but if she could bring a little more of the latter, it would go a long way toward earning her some more playing time.

Center Midfielders
Iuri Takala - Megabrantid SC - 25 y/o - 16 caps - Male
It's official, Takala has succeeded Damot. The Black-and-Reds first captain will still get playing time, and is an important leader for the team off the field, but Takala is in his prime, and playing his best football. He's a player who does it all: scoring, distributing, and getting back on defense.
Viordar Rebljeten - Algolia AC - 26 y/o - 17 caps - Male
Rebljeten is an attacker. While Donnell would commonly line him up at striker, Zaman has shifted to playing him in midfield, somewhat ahead of a more conservative holding center mid. He has been a major factor in Algolia's strong attack the past couple years, feeding passes to a pair of Nepharan strikers (first Westerlow, now Eisenhauer).
Danin Stolp - Algolia AC - 25 y/o - 10 caps - Male
The other competitor for Damot's old mantel, Stolp is a player very much in the same vein as Takala, if not quite the goalscorer. He's definitely the second choice and sometimes just doesn't quite have the magic touch Takala does.
Arlo Damot - Traal Athletics - 34 y/o - 68 caps - Male
The veteran, fan favorite, heart and soul of the team. He's the sentimental pick for this team, given one last chance to Damot was the complete center mid for years, and was ever present for both Daror and now Donnell. Alas, he isn't getting any younger, and this will probably be his last hurrah. The whole team will want that much more to clinch qualification to get Damot to a World Cup.

Strikers
Zoban Ajao - Unioneers (EUR) - 27 y/o - 60 caps - Male
Ajao has had his struggles, but finally seems to have settled into a role as the top choice striker for the Black-and-Reds. He scored 9 goals off the bench in his first season with Unioneers. With the Black-and-Reds he plays mostly as a target man, more often than not dropped the ball off or flicking it on to a teammate. As one would expect with his massive frame, he's also deadly dangerous on set pieces.
Demkjo Jzvanic - Olympic Thessia (MYT) - 32 y/o - 62 caps - Male
The Black-and-Reds' leading goalscorer returns for another swing at the world cup. Jzvanic may not quite have the endurance he did in his 20's, but he'll always be a dangerous shooter from almost anywhere within 30 yards of goal. He is constantly in motion off the ball, making sure defenders are paying close attention to him.
Lyzolda Petrov - Syneca AC - 25 y/o - 0 caps - Female
Petrov had a monster season practically out of nowhere playing alongside Mikhulat (who has retired from international football) for Syneca. She is at her best in tight spaces, making small precise moves on the ball to open space for a shot where none existed a moment ago.
Jurzse Bedesnjak - Chalesm FC - 30 y/o - 0 caps - Male
Like Petrov, Bedesnjak came almost out of nowhere to take the Superleague by storm. Apparently a change of scenery from HDC was all he needed to unlock his potential. With Chalesm, he more or less is the attack, so it will be interesting to see whether playing with higher caliber teammates increases his production, or causes him to fade into the background.

Manager: Heldir Zaman (SRS)
Zaman is a charismatic figure, and likes his teams to play what he calls "purposefully," pressing the ball forward toward the goal. He likes his team to be fluid in the attack, with players not held rigidly to certain zones of the field. In defense, he wants to close down aggressively, trying to win the ball back quickly. He saw mixed results over the second half of qualifying, but managed to rally the Black-and-Reds to an almost respectable finish. For the time being, he is the man in charge.

HAMPTON ISLAND GOLDEN BEARS
National Soccer Team

Soccer is not a popular sport in Hampton Island. It ranks somewhere down the list after baseball, motorsports, football (the one with an egg shaped ball), basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and maybe even golf. Fine, it is ahead of golf. Hampton Island does not have a national professional soccer league. There are areas where smaller regional leagues take place, but nothing organized on a national level.

It was seen as a joke when the nation signed up for the tournament. They did try once, and had a laughable performance in the Baptism of Fire, and were terrible in World Cup qualifying. They didn’t return, and no one was surprised. Why then, did they bother signing up for this? The team was created from a list of the best soccer players from the regional leagues. Wait, no it wasn’t. Who even are these people?

No one really seems to know.

Goalkeepers
GK: Sasa Szatmáry, age 30, Club Stein-los (F)
GK: Thorsten Gerber, age 35, CA Paulinthal
GK: Ambrus Galambos, age 27, Stein-los Turkish

After being completely dropped out of favor for the Copa Rushmori, Gerber decided to prove that he was still the man for the job and had one of his best seasons ever with CAP, putting up eighteen clean sheets during the season, seeing him retain his position. However Galambos has moved into the second spot in the pecking order with his brilliant display for the majority of the Copa Rushmori and looks to be the successor to Gerber following this World Cup. Szatmáry is as reliable as ever and will likely feel a bit hard done by dropping to third in the preference spot, yet she knows she has to be ready whenever she is called upon.

Defenders
LB: Rozalia Sebeôk, age 25, Duke of the North (F)
LB/LW: Deli Ács, age, 24, Directus Image

CB: Christian Berg, age 30, Starling Image
R/CB: Tabor Csikós, age 24, Spartangrad Image
RB: Linka Polak, age 30, Baskita FC (F)

It seems fitting that Berg get the armband, given that he very quietly became the heart of the backline, with both he and Bader being stalwarts in the middle of the defensive unit and difficult to break down. Neither can be put at fault for the Wanderers being unable to secure qualification two years ago, which they showed in a very memorable Copa Rushmori performance. On the flanks, a pair of pacy and resiliant fullbaks with a lot of tenacity makes the back four look like they will be what the team as a whole will likely look to rely on as they attempt to rectify the failures of last season. The versatile Deli Ács will be one to keep an eye out on, especially to see if the managers decide he is better at fullback or out on the wing bombing forward against defenses, with blistering pace and a very good cross of the ball. The reserves are solid, with a good deal of the defensive pool plying their trade in Eura, a domestic league known for stiffening up the players who play their and producing quite remarkable players in the process, a trait that the coaches no doubt will be hoping to bank on in the upcoming months.

Midfielders

RW: Jan Gersten, age 27, Bastion Image
RW: Ádám Berecz, age 28, Baskita FC
AMC: Mária Vöröss, age 24, Royal Canterlot HC Image
D/MC: Szalyk Földessy, age 24, Crawford City FC Image
MC: Matthias Maur, age 30, Club Stein-los
MC: Kerecsen Benke, age 29, CA Paulinthal
LW: Orsolya Gere, age 30, Sabrefell Athletic Image
AML/LW: Kati Szöllôsy, age 31, Tanrısal (F)

Where once it was a plethora of amazing center midfielders that the Wanderers' built their squads upon, there now seems to be a bit of an absence of talent on the surface of things, though the same is not true of the wingers that are in the Wanderers' player pool. With Eisenhower and Feierabend left of the team, a pair of talented youngsters will have their chance to prove their worth, with the youngest Földessy brother seeing himself into the starters role when the eldest is dropped from the pool, and the middle unable to dislodge the right wing spot. Mária Vöröss had an exceptional Copa Rushmori with her playmaking abilities and many will hope that she can continue that into Qualifiers and get this squad back among the elite of the game, though with the likes of Gere and Berecz on the wings it will be much easier given their top caliber status. If the younger players in the center of the park can mature and play up to the potential that many believe they have, this could once more turn into the strongest unit for the national team but for now only the wingers are sure things and known quantities.

Strikers

AMC/ST: Alexander Jager, age 28, Revolutionaries Image
ST: Petar Galić, age 28, Hellinic Rouge
ST: Nataša Horvat, age 26, Olympia FC Image (F)
ST: Júlia Müller, age 25, Cloudsdale Flyers Image (F)

As Kárpáty replaced Thor last cycle, it is now his time to step aside and let someone with a bit more pep in their step to step into the starting role, as Petar Galić has rode his way not just into the full national team but also a starting place on the back of a domestic season to remember with the Spartans. Many will remember his exploits in the DBC and will hope that that calm under pressure attitude is still their and he can bang in the goals that were very inconsistent last cycle. However the true key player will be Alexander Jager, who will have the burden of having to lead this squad forward with very few familiar faces around him. However it was his ability to shoulder such a load as a youth that had so many speaking his name, having nearly almost won a DBC by himself. His speed and shot power are among the best in the world and now he will have to prove he is worthy of all the attention he garners. The Copa Rushmori definitely did a lot of favors for Horvat and Müller, who both find themselves on the roster, though the latter is more likely to get the spot starts than the former.

Formation And Tactics
Image

Srđan Jakšić came into the job very unexpectedly after the Wanderers' embarrassing crash out of the World Cup Qualifiers and on the heels of his own blushing moment with Tani in the domestic scene, before bouncing back both domestically with a PSL title and internationally in guiding the Wanderers to an unexpected retaining of the Copa Rushmori. However the PFA decided that they needed someone who knew how to drill in consistency into the squad and that is something that Jakšić is known for, with Tani squads being one of the most conditioned and least carded teams in the SuperLiga. It is suspected that he will keep to the traditional 4-4-2 of the the Wanderers, but do not be surprised if he employs a 4-3-1-2 or even a diamond midfield with the players at his disposal. What is for sure though is that the Wanderers' will be pressing their opponents hard and will look to get into the attack as often as possible, also seemingly more keen on bringing on players into the pool who can play in a variety of positions to allow greater tactical flexibility heading into matches.

Manager: Image Elidyr Lyndainium • Formation: 4-4-2

After the severe disappointment of their World Cup 84 Qualifying Campaign, the one-time Cup of Harmony champion's have returned to the NSWC's secondary post-quals tournament with high hopes that they can make a deep run and restore hope that Mercedini can hang with the best of them, and put Mercedinian football on the map once again. Lyndainium's whose job is on the line following a dissappointing run, saw the Golden Eagles slip behind Starblaydia and HUElavia in a compeitive group, leading to the nation's first non-qualification in four editions. He has named a strong squad with many of the same names in service for the 76th edition of the Cup of Harmony. Remember, many of these players won the 72nd edition of this tournament, so all have experience with deep runs in tournaments like these, but younger and newer nations are always present to spring a surprise, so they will have to be on their guard in they want to avoid an early exit.

Mercedini go into the tournament as one of the strongest nations, with many of their usual opponents being sifted out by World Cup Qualification, and thus will not be present. That isn't to say Dini will have an easy run of it, veterans like Pasarga also failed to qualify, and there are fellow IAC teams like SRS and New Lusitania who both beat Mercedini on their own turf in the most recent IAC tournament they competed in. The Golden Eagles are expected to be present in their group as the Pot 1 side, but Dini have been in this position before and blown it, so it certainly isn't a formality that they make it through these early stages. Apathy may also be a big problem this time around, with the Cup of Harmony now seen as a 'best of the rest' prize made even less important by the fact that Mercedini have won this prize before. It will be interesting to see how the team plays against their opponents, as silverware is on the line, even if it wasn't the one they'd hope to be lifting.

GK Callum Polasic 34 Image Everfree Forest HC
GK Lukas Poyek 26 Image Zoloroni Metropolitan

Four goalkeepers to pick from during the tournament, echoing the choices that Lyndainium had during qualification, although his choices will be much more varied with the eclectic mix of teams present at the tournament. With his heroics last season in securing the domestic double for Zoloroni City, and the more recent MPL title which saw his team secure back-to-back titles and Champion's League football for next season.; Daniel Hosset remains in the number one spot once again to lead his team out onto the pitches in Banija and Xanneria. The goalkeeper is the last line of defence for the team, with matches won and lost on the whim of their performances. It's hoped that the four selected goalkeeper with do enough to keep clean sheets or at least limit their opponents to allow an opportunity for victory through their attackers.

An aging back line seems to have finally found it's mojo when it comes to blocking out teams from scoring, and that seemed to pay dividends during the last campaign when the Mercedinian defence held out long enough to secure crucial points which kept their heads above water. Lyndainium has stuck with his qualifying team from the previous two cycles in order to restore a feeling of familiarity to the group, with domestic and national matches splitting up the team more and more as time goes on. Consistency is key to a fruitful qualifying campaign featuring opponents with all different play styles and abilities. That's something that didn't translate to the previous campaign where the team dropped points against key opponents and lower ranked teams, which proved fatal in the end. There is nowhere to hide on the neutral pitches that the team will play on throughout the campaign, so they will have to lay it all on the track when they get down to it.

Once again, no changes to the midfield roster and they take the reigns for the national team, with the good performances put forward by the midfield squad warranting national praise and re-selection for the upcoming Cup of Harmony campaign. Mercedini has put itself on the map with it's attractive brand on attacking and controlling football, with the midfield quartet always at the heart of the action as they ebb and flow with the action of the game. Cricket scores can be chalked up when this group is in form, with experienced veterans teaming up with enthusiastic young-guns to provide plenty of variety and depth to Lyndainium as he attempts to get maximum efficiency from his players. Mercedini have often struggled against the top teams due to their inability to keep up with the midfield play, but this group of players are well experienced from one previous cycle together. It is simply a question of whether Mercedini can be put in the same bracket as the top tier of football-playing nations to take home yet another trophy.

STRIKERS

ST Ben Chillotov 24 Image Lajuno
ST Charlie Alotic 29 Image Pelethas United
ST Cody Graszeszak 23 Image KF Qastyr

In a roster where there has been little to no change, life continues without Mercedini's talismanic striker, Sam Billic, as he takes care of the Under-21s in what was a solid first cycle for the former army-sargeant turned star footballer. Lyndainium has once again opted for some fresh blood to replace him and to potentially take over the Billic-throne.

But enough about the past, and onto the future. Former Project Olimpo prodigy Feliks Alva will take the place of the legend, as he moves to the fifth choice which bump up Alotic and Graszeszak to 3rd and 4th respectively. Alva became the face of the fightback to try and keep Project Olimpo in the Mercedinan Premier following a dire start to the season. Alva became a regular on the score sheet to net a number of vital goals before his team eventually succumbed to the drop, which captured the hearts of many in the Mercedinian footballing community. His antics caught the eye of suitors in Elspa where Alva moved to Elspachia to become a first choice striker and a regular starter in the Premier League. Now his selection in the national team has capped off a remarkable rise for the youngster.

Chillotov and Dostalok remain the top two in the Mercedinian striking world and are selected once again to lead the line. Chillotov will be going for the Billic crown now the Real Azuris striker has stepped out of the picture. The Hoventon-born player now plays in Eura for Lajuno and has been a key play in the team's fight to secure a UICA berth for the community. It's set to be an exciting and inspiring couple of weeks for the team as they set out to claim a second Cup of Harmony title. Lets go!

The Roster
When RP'ing, the name of my players in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS AND BOLD are the player's family names. These are the names on their jersey and the name professional commentators would call out when making observations. Also, do not write the names in all capital letters, as this is somewhat annoying when reading; I just imagine someone reading calmly along then suddenly SHOUTING the player's name. For example, if writing about FENG Shaoli making a long shot, one would write "Feng made a long shot..." as opposed to "FENG made a long shot..." If you have any further questions regarding names, please feel free to telegram me.

Players age ONE YEAR in-between cups.

Starting players will have their names in GREEN type
Alternate players will have their names in BLUE type
Reserve Players will have their names in STANDARD type.
Travelling Players will be in tables.

1- Aki KIO’LOS
Height: 192cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 35 years old - Team: FC Mando
After two tournaments, including a World Cup, Aki Kio'los has begun to cement his name into the starting goalkeeper. With his explosive energy and an unmatched focus, Kio’los is known for making saves most keepers would let slip through. Reminiscent of a younger Chu Takumi – who had 72 caps for the Bisons between World Cup 57 and 65 – Kio’los is hoping that, even at an age most players begin to think of retirement, he can still bring pride to his nation.

22- ZHAO Baoli
Height: 187cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 24 years old - Team: Enceri FC

Most often than not, a backup goalie is viewed as “damage control” for the starter; only called in when the starter has let in a few too many goals that shouldn’t have gone in, or is just not getting into the grove of the game quick enough for the coaches liking. With Zhao Baoli, that is not the case. Head Coach Tay’haai is not certain how either Kio’los or Zhao will do when facing their first multiverse opponents, and has opted for choosing two top caliber keepers to make his one-two combo.

What are the differences between Kio’los and Zhao? Despite their age – Zhao was only six years old the last time the Bisons played in the World Cup – there is hardly any difference between the two men. Similar style, similar background, even similar appearance; both your stereotypical Shoushan men who use their impressive physical forms to dominate in their chosen field. One key difference, however, lies in Zhao’s tendency to play medium-range passes incredibly accurately versus Kio’los’ short-range kicks; this accuracy at medium range helps to facilitate the progression of his team’s build-up into the next phase of play. Expect to see Zhao get more playing time as the Bisons face more defensive minded teams.

33- ARMOK Hikari
Height: 177cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 23 years old - Team: Southern AFC

Armok Hikari rounds out the Goalkeeper Corps, bringing a slightly different style to the Bisons. Fresh from his second season with Southern AFC, Armok has developed rather nicely when compared to his style back at his alma mater, University of Omashu. HOwever, that development at home has not found its way to the pitch,a s he has yet to get a single cap.

Unlike Kio’los and Zhao, Armok tends to favor the long-range kicks out to midpitch so as to clear as much action from the back end as possible. Also, Armok is a much more traditional goalkeeper when compared to the very ball-heavy play styles of the first two men in the corps; he firmly believes that his primary goal is to stop balls from getting to the net, and by clearing out the attacking zone quickly, it gives him a chance to set the team up more defensively as he does tend to hand over possession often, but that allows him to focus on the main job of stopping balls and not worrying about diving out of the box and going for more ‘flashy’ plays.

PAO Lishin 21 Heibai University Earth
HAMADA Roshi 19 Royal Fire State University Fire
LEE Fendao 16 Academy of South Kibago Mandalore

As had been done under Vhett, Head Coach Tay’haai has instituted a Travelling Corps so as to bring young and upcoming players along with the Bisons to show them what Multiverse Play is all about. Pao and Hamada are both collegiate level players, who will likely be vying for a third spot in the Goalkeeper Corps as Kio’los is certainly not getting any younger. Lee is a much younger player, brought in from a developmental academy in KIbago Province, who is somewhat of a star in the Avatarian Soccer circle; having not let in a single goal in three seasons and representing his Academy at the national level.

Left Defenders:
2- Auranaq ITAWAKU
Height: 196cm - Weight: 82kg – Age: 35 years old - Team: Concord Dusk AFC
A beast of a man, Aruanq Itawaku has the distinction of being only one of two players on the Bisons who has ever travelled to a World Cup; both Aki Kio’los and Itawaku travelled with the Bisons back in World Cup 68.

In his time since that travelling appearance, Itawaku has managed to pack the form of a gridiron player into the body of a footballer; able to give strong tackles and bulldoze his way through an opponent, Itawaku is just as comfortable dancing around the pitch and keep the ball away from any keen and overzealous opponents. His aggressive style of play, combined with his sheer size, has earned him the loving nickname of “The Beast of the North”.

12- PAM Kai
Height: 183cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 20 years old - Team: Senlin Timbers

The backup to the Beast of the North, Pam Kai is a bit smaller and significantly younger. Though, that doesn’t stop the younger Water Tribesman from doing his best to keep up with Itawaku in the weight room and out on the pitch. Pam carries with him youthful vigor and determination, although he forewent another year at Northern University to pursue his professional career; which, judging by a rather subpar performance in Senlin, has many analysts feeling that he may have made the jump to the pros a bit to soon.

16- TERCAR Shuajo
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 20 years old - Team: Northern University

At 20 years of age, Tercar Shuajo plays a very similar style to Auranaq, which means substitutions into the team can be done effortlessly. A very quick and agile defender, Tercar did not play any games during AOCAF, and will likely not see any action during the World Cup, though he is still prepared should the need arise. Given he is nearly 10kg lighter than both Pam and Itawaku, Tercar has to use his feet and agility to outmaneuver most other players instead of relying on sheer mass to take away a ball.

Central Defenders
5- HASHIMOTO Isamiru
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 27 years old - Team: Ba Sing Se UNITED
One of the most highly-rated player for the Bison defence, Hashimoto Isamiru, or “Hashi” as he is loving called by fans, has shown himself to be a very valuable asset to the team. A strong defensive player who often falls in to a full-back position, Hashimoto has made great strides in improving his passing and marking skills since he was traded to Ba Sing Se UNITED from Keldabe FC after a very disappointing season which saw Kelabe not advance to the playoffs for the first time in five years.

15- UTHAN A’den
[i]Height:
185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 19 years old - Team:Kyoshi State University

As was during the Bisons’ last World Cup run, Number 15 is worn by a man incredibly deceptive in appearance and performance. A large and physically imposing player, Uthan A’den does not play a very physical game like Aurnaq or Hashimoto, but instead proves himself to be one of the fastest players on the team; one who uses that speed to outpace and overtake many of his opponents. Less prove to tackle and trip, and more likely to simply run up from behind and steal the ball mid-dribble, expect to see Uthan engaging opponents closer to the net than you will be comfortable with from previous Bisons campaigns.

15- Ganham Ri’om
Height: 175cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 23 years old - Team: Concord Dusk AFC
Though not as fast as Uthan, Ganham Ri’om is a full-back more focused on the offence, who uses his skill with the ball to often drive the offence from the backfield. Though Ganham can have some minor difficulties when tasked with defence (given that he played his entire career at Hatsu State as a offensive midfielder before switching to defence when drafted), he is a very edicated player and works hard to improve where he knows there are weakness.

Right Defenders:

3- SOMCHAI Kikwan
Height: 187cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: Itakawai City

While certainly not the oldest player in the defence, Somchai Kikwan does serve as the counterpoint to Uthan’s youthful excitement. Having graduated from Kyoshi State, Somchai is very familiar to the style of play Uthan is used to, and the two of them communicate very well on the side of the field. Very adept at playing the middle of the field, when pushed to the right side, Somchai is quick to adapt and has the endurance and stamina to keep up with the demands

13- MI’REZ Yman
Height: 177cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 33 years old - Team: Solus FC
A mixture of strength, speed and technicality, Mi’rez Yman is able to often outperform many oppoenets strictly through his quick feet and often amusing antics; known to make oppoenets laugh mid-stride, Mi’rez is not the player the media wants to mic up and have talk to the crowd. Though even with his quirks, Mi’rez is a very valuable players to the defensive corps.

23- HUANG Aodhán
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 22 years old - Team: Makapu ERUPT

Originally signed into the Taap-B team Kaolin FC right out of college, Huang Aodhán was quick to mature and found his way onto the Makapu ERUPT. A quick study, he adapted well to his new team and soon made it to their starting eleven. Huang is a natural athlete, with impressive speed and stamina to match, though at such a young age compared to his linemates, he has much to learn before he finds himself on the front lines of Avatarian Football.

Travelling With the Team

Position	Name Age School Nation |

RD YAMADA Goro 19 Republic City State University Fire
LD Khánh KA’LOMI 18 Univ. of the Southern Tribes Water
LD Tarou ADEEN 20 Omashu State University Mandalorian
CD ZHOU Hiroto 19 Kibago University Earth

The Travelling Corps for Defense is a mixed group of under-21s who are all potential future Bisons. Kato, from Enceri, is coming off a All-Star season in the Southern Islands Conference, having been credited with the most goals by any defenseman in season. Yamada and Ka’lomi are most first-time A-squad for their respective schools, and seem to play complementary styles, so it wouldn’t be unlikely to see them as a future starting pair. Adeen, though coming back from a lower body strain he acquired before his selection was announced, is the opposite of Ka’lomi; more defense driven and much more adept at wide pitch running and helping drive offense. Zhou, fresh from a rather disappointing season at KU, still managed to shine as he was selected in the Coaches Poll as the third best centreback in the ACSA having 32 Assists in 24 games

Defensive Midfielders:

7- TAKAHASHI Hikaru
Height: 178cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 31 years old - Team: Northern AFC
A strong defensive midfielder. Takahashi Hikaru’s strength lies in his kicks; easily able to send a ball soaring across the pitch with surprising accuracy, Takahashi is known for feeding the ball to the strikers and catching many opposing defences off-guard. He often has great vision, and he is easily able to read the play and can adapt accordingly.

6- MA Haijiang
Height: 187cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: Northern AFC

Head Coach Tay’haai made the unusual selection of having both of his defensive midfielders come from the same team, for reasons most can ascertain. A proven veteran on the pitch, Ma Haijiang complements Takahashi’s strong kicks and accuracy with the speed to overcome most opponents; if he can not strike a ball deep, Takahashi will often send a volley up to Ma who will then run it into the offensive zone before lasering the ball to an open forward. Expect to see either Ma or Takahashi in the assist column for plenty of goals.

17- YOSHIDA Arata
Height: 177cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 26 years old - Team: Royal Flames

Yoshida Arata is a dedicated player who has worked incredibly hard to make his way to the national team; having spent several months training with one of the greatest Avatarian midfielders to ever play the game, Bralor Kotyc’e. Time spent with Bralor has proven to greatly improve his game, seeing Yoshida climb up the ranks during the Trials for the national team.

Though, Yoshida is not a player you will often notice. He is not one for showboating, and very rarely makes a goal or garnishes an assist. Instead, he focuses his time on the pitch by setting up the offense for a great pass, a decisive tackle that often swings the game’s momentum, or just being able to intercept the ball at the most opportune time. One of the best midfielders in the Southern Conference of the RPFL, Yoshida is sure to see time on the pitch by relieving Takahashi or Ma in the later games of the competition.

Neutral Midfielders:

18- HISAKAWA Si Woo
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: Omashu Athletic (Taap-A)
An extremely technical midfielder, Hisakawa Si Woo is not one to shy away from trying for goals. More aept at reading the play and setting up his forwards, Hisakawa is a bit more impatient than one would like, and he posseses the speed and agility to run through a good defence and find the back of the net on occasion. He is also the only player on the Bisons who does not play for a RPFL team, and instead leads midfielders in Goals Scored for the Taap-A team Omashu Athletic; though, after only scoring one goal and gaining three assists in AOCAF LIX, many are questioning what Hisakawa will be able to barter for once his contract with Omashu Atheltic is up at the end of this season, or if he will even be able to move up in the RPFL.

Attacking Midfielders:

8- YU Shichiro
Height: 183cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 24 years old - Team: Keldabe FC

With a very offensive-minded footballing style, Yu Shichiro works as the last link between the midfield and the offence. Much like Hisakawa, Yu has been known to even advance from the midfield to score quite a few key goals in pivotal games, including the 2019.2 Ve’vut Cup winning goal against Concord Dusk AFC. He has a powerful long shot and is exceptional at heading, both of which are aided by his height. However, as skilled as he is in offense, Yu still prefers to pass the ball up to forwards for an assist in a goal as opposed to being the star player.

11- GUANYU Jun
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 21 years old - Team: Omashu Athletic
A very creative midfielder, Guanyu Jun is very capable of making plays on the fly; with great vision and quick feet, he often can set up his forwards for a great goal or keep the ball moving through the middle. Though having graduated from Heibai University right after AOCAF, Guanyu, who managed to only appear in a single game during AOCAF, went into the last World Cup still holding out for a MultiVerse contract. However, after scoring three goals in ten caps during WC 84, Omashu Athletic came knocking...and they made an offer Guanyu just could not refuse. Though, thanks to the work of his agent, in is Omashu contract there is a specific clause should he want to leave for a multiverse team... probably quite the buyout...

14 – Fei’kao SONG
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 20 years old - Team: FC Mando
Relatively young when compared to his teammates, Fei’kao Song chose to forgo his collegiate career, getting drafted by FC Mando the day before his twentieth birthday. Despite all the fanfare of his first season behind him, Song has not had a promising start to his sophomore season. Given his still-developing skills in midfield, his is seen as a comparatively weak player and often spends more time with the coaching staff than other more-seasoned players. Song, much like Hisakawa, is a technical player by nature whose greatest asset is not in his aim or power, but in the art of dribbling which he uses at every opportunity. While more prone to provide assists on plays as opposed to goals, Song has proven himself through Trials to Tay’haai and earned a spot on the National Team, albeit a reserve position.

NM Penlu SAITO 19 Chomain State Academy Fire
OM SHAO Mi’ka 21 Univeristy of Kibago Water
OM DIK Up’lis 20 Omashu State University Earth

Mostly comprised of Water Tribesmen, the Midfield Travelling Corps is a grabbag of talent. From the University of the Northern Tribes come home-grown Inoue Anernerk, who at just like his father, the famed Inoue Kuruk, completed back-to-back double-digit scoring seasons in his last two seasons of college; impressive for a man who is supposed to be on the defensive midfield. From UST, Kal Itowa mirrors the success of Inoue, though a career less filled with goals and more with assists. Penlu Saito, a young player from the developmental Chomain State Academy, hopes to see a professional contract within the year, and with such a great season in the ADFL, you can be sure he will at least entertain some good offers. Out of the University of Kibago, Shao Mi’ka is a relatively quiet player who has had offers from both Gaoling Union and Senlin Timbers. Dik Up’lis rounds out the Travelling Corps, bringing from Omashu State a drive for excellence many teams would love to have, even if it comes with a bit more maturing to be fostered.

9 - Dag’da SKIRATA
Height: 185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 19 years old - Team: University of Adirolf
From the fabled and illustrious Skirata family, Dag’da Skirata continues to show why the Skirata’s are the most famous Avatarian family in sports; from his grandfather Kad coaching the Men’s National Ice Hockey Team to his father A’den’s 59 goals in 190 caps for the Bisons, Dag’da has some massive shoes to fill. Though his youthful energy often times shows itself in classic mistakes, Skirata is able to power his way through many the defender and be it by foot or by head, he finds the net more often than not. In his first season with the Adirolf Gators, A’den went for 19 goals in 10 caps, including the last game before AOCAF where he received his first hattrick in a stellar 4-0 victory of their rivals from Adirolf State. In World Cup 84, Skirata made the push for victory in the final match against Libonesia, scoring both of the Bisons' goals.

10 - SONG Kaoru
[i]Height:
178cm - Weight: 74kg – Age: 22 years old - Team: FC Mando
Much like Skirata, Song Kaoru comes from a sports-centric family; with his father a coach in the RPFL, his mother a third-line winger for the Ice Bisons and his younger brother the star goalkeeper for Itakawai City, fans and critics have come to expect nothing but greatness from Song. They have certainly not been disappointed in domestic play, with Song showing a near-effortless game on the pitch. Dodging defenders as if they were standing still, sniping balls past nets which might as well have been empty, Song has quickly become the media’s favorite player... especially with how he loves to be interviewed.

21- LI Yuuta
Height: 185cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 25 years old - Team: Island FC

Older than both of the starting forwards, Li Yuuta also fins himself the oldest member of the Forward Corps. Playing the last two seasons in Island FC, Li has continued to develop as a well-rounded secondary striker; able to shield the ball from the other team and hold them off long enough for either of the Bisons’ primary stikers to get into position for a great shot. Li is very adept at striking himself, having led Island FC in Goals Scored last season.

A seasoned pivot man through five seasons at Island FC, Kim Vinh Lành is known for his ability to read the pitch and place himself ahead of a ball to bring in an attempt --- even if the pass is terrible --- through his excellent ball-handling skills. Albeit not the most conditioned player, with stamina that often finds him at the back of the pack during running exercises, Kim makes up for his endurance with incredibly fast bursts to the goal.

Head Coach: Kad’e TAY’HAAI
Height: 182cm – Weight: 76kg – Age 55 years old – Team: University of Adirolf, Head Coach

With 253 caps in Multiverse Play, and originally having been dubbed “The Next One” as a player, it only seemed right when Vhett Boba, the esteemed Head Coach of the Natonal Team since World Cup 57, stepped down that Kad’e Tay’haai would step into his boots. After such an illustrious career in football, Tay’haai found himself retiring from the sport in 2016.2 and moving on to become an assistant coach for the University of Adirolf for three cycles, before stepping into the role of Head Coach in 2018.3. While Adirolf has not quite enjoyed great success through the ACSA, it has begun to turn itself around; after boasting their first losing record in 32 years, the Adirolf Gators came out of 2019.2 with a 17-7-0 record and a second place finish in the National Championships.

Despite not qualifying for his first two multiverse tournaments - AOCAF 53 and World Cp 84 - Tay'haai is still looking confident going into the Cup of Harmony.

Assistant Coach: WONG Haru
Height: 185cm – Weight: 88kg – Age 45 years old – Team: FC Itakawai, Assistant General Manager

Once a star defender for the Bisons, following his retirement from national and multiverse play, Wong Haru made a name for himself with a brief stint in coaching professionally; first as a Defensive Coach for Solus FC for two years and then FC She Pass for another four. However, when Wakahisa Hikaru – whose infamous knee injury in the championship game for the Republic Chalice brought the nation to tears and ended his professional career – called Wong to bring onboard FC Itakawai when they shifted ownership, it was a call he could not pass up. Being the head coach of one of the RPFL’s best teams for nearly 8 years truly honed his knowledge of the game as well as his abilities to analyze and coach players to greatness. Of course, it was an easy decision for Tay’haai to bring an old teammate on-board to be his assistant coach, who then filled out his coaching staff wth even more veterans of the Bisons...

Head Medical Officer: Doctor WEN Wuchin
Height: 180cm – Weight: 78kg – Age 86 years old
A medical doctor whose primary training was as a GAR Field Medic, Wen is the best choice possible in a world where doctors prefer to stay in privately-owned hospitals rather than rural rigshacks. Wen served for ten years in the GAR before he would honourably discharged to serve as Chief Resident at the prestigious Ba Sing Se Inner Ring Medical Centre, where he would remain for six years before being given a more suitable job as Chief of Medical Training at the Republic Military Academy; a position he has held for near 30 years.

Security Chief: Captain AKAAN (RC-4648)
Height: 183cm – Weight: 81kg – Age: 43 years old CHRONOLOGICAL (46 years old BIOLOGICAL)
A clone officer within the Grand Army of the Republic, RC-4868 was appointed Chief of Security for the National Team in 2011.1. Each time the team travels abroad --- so long as he is not engaged in a mission --- RC-4868 is pulled from service and placed into the spotlight of security. He is battle-hardened, having been raised since birth for war and combat, and as such often views these assignments with true boredom. The seven men he brings with him on assignment share the same sentiments of the ‘mission’, however, their ‘unwaivering loyalty’ to the Republic prevents any negative speak during the assignment. Each is a member of the Avatarian Guard, whose sole responsibility is to defend the Avatar at both home and abroad; this protection then extends to all sports teams travelling beyond the borders of the Five Nations.

President of the ALAF: HIS RIGHT HONOURABLE VHETTBoba
Age: 69 – Time in the job: 4 Years

Once the longest serving Head Coach in Avatarian History – with a record spanning 261 games, ten World Cups and multiple other multiverse competitions – it was only right for Vhett to step into the role of President of the Avatarian Leagues of Association Football. Having brought a team from nothing to the quarterfinals in 8 World Cups is not something to look away from, and although his career was tarnished slightly by the final performances of the Bisons – going 5-7-1 in his last World Cup – Vhett is confident that soon glory will be returned to the Avatarian Republics, especially as this is their first competition since joining the Atlantian Oceania Confederation.

BRUSSELDORF NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

Los Alrededores favours a 4-2-2-2 'magic boxes' formation. Wingers are encouraged to make attacking runs into the opposition half, and cross into the 18-yard box. This style of play puts large amounts of pressure on an opposition's back line and takes full advantage of any structural weaknesses.

The full 23 man squad for the 76th Cup of Harmony is as follows:

EURAN OCEANIA TERRITORIES
"The Expats"

Cup of Harmony 76 Squad

National Introduction

Kit: Blue with combination livery of Euran gold and Syndicatian white. Alternative kit is the same colours are Syndicatian or "Revolutionaries" green.
Stadium: Flynn Arena, 96,500
Style Mod: +4

The Incorporated States of Euran Oceania Territories is a parliamentary federal dominion of Eura, formed of the Euran zone of the former Inevitable Syndicate and the Whittorian Islands. It has a population of just under ten million people which is quickly rising, making it a beacon of diversity home to Syndicatians, Whittorian refugees, Euran migrants and others. It has possibly the world's largest artificial crater, which dominates the landscape west of what is now New Fligsive, the capital of this new entity. Its home stadium is the The Flynn Arena, where Eura beat Polar Islandstates 4-2 in the famous 66th World Cup final. Few would have predicted that the colours of red, blue and gold would become permanent there but its happened, and the stadium is now back in good condition after an expensive refit to return it to the 96,500 capacity it held previously. Previously a wooden stadium, the current iteration of the Flynn Arena was rebuilt after a great fire destroyed the stadium during a game between Fligsive FC and Magnaeus City. Nowadays, it's a little more robust, having been the subject of many refurbishment projects over the years. The stadium was easily reachable on the Fligsive Metro before the violent overthrow of the Corvidae regime and the associated disaster in Fligsive. It now sports a combination of the old paint job as well as Euran blue and gold while the local club Fligsive FC are still in existence despite drawing lower crowds after the Mertagne exodus, though they do not play in the hastily cobbled together amateur EOTLeague.

Euran Oceania Territories formed a national football team not long after the founding of the political entity, a project conjured up by the Euran government Ministry of Sport to imbue a sense of cohesion among the diverse population of EOT. They played a series of friendlies against other "Eurasphere" sides from Endemia and Rushmore in a lengthy state subsidised tour. Their first games were defeats against Daera, Itor and the Ferguson Islands, before an unexpected 4-3 victory against Helving, despite their Euraleague star Scott Barnes scoring a hattrick. They then entered the 50th AOCAF full of excitement despite having a mostly amateur team, including serving military personnel, but were promptly demolished in the group stages by several teams. Now, with the citizenship laws relaxed to allow the growth of the Territories, the "Underdogs" as they have come to call themselves are suddenly confident that they might be able to pull off a shock or two. Their first manager was of top class pedigree - Tolgus Tregajorran, a footballing hero in Apox who is also well known on the international scene.

Tregajorran managed to persuade some former Apoxian internationals, playing in Eura and with no international allegiance following the temporary dismemberment of Apoxian professional football, to sign the relevant papers and make the surprise switch to EOT, as well as Euran's and other international exiles. After several years of bit part competition EOT competed in the World Cup qualifiers for the first time and in turn the Baptism of Fire, after the Sameban national team withdrew from the Endemian International Sporting Agreement and international football. They performed poorly at the Baptism of Fire, going out at the group stage, but put on a respectable showing in their qualifying group for the 80th World Cup. Tregajorran's unexpected departure and a chaotic period followed, ending with the controversial appointment of Euran footballing legend and cult icon Skorji Oslograd halfway through World Cup 81 qualifying.

Immediately applying Oslograd's "Skorjiball" approach - best summarised as an extremely aggressive and fluid attacking game interrupted sporadically by the manager doing something inappropriate - the team secured some noteworthy results but remains very much an underdog competitor. Oslograd's dream is to turn them into the living embodiment of "the way of the warrior" and to qualify for the World Cup. His first AOCAF was the first tournament where Olsograd was able to demonstrate his own approach to the game in full but the results were mixed. Then he led the side into World Cup 82 qualifying, but a dreadful start to the campaign snuffed out any hopes, although a later revival ensured a semi-respectable finish. But the team did lose a bit of its soul, playing more conservatively than previously, a trend that Oslograd reversed at AOCAF LVIII.

The Expats excited fans with their performances and took the scalp of Valanora, easily the biggest victory in the young teams history before exiting in the knockouts against Banija. As a result the squad went into qualifiers for World Cup 83 and the following AOCAF largely unchanged, only to disappoint again. Several retirements and the ageing of players has left the squad looking weak for these qualifiers amidst rumours that Oslograd may quit, with his mind turned to helping grow the domestic game in the Oceania Territories - the launch of a new domestic league having now occurred. The poor performance yet again in qualifiers will add fuel to the fire of this speculation. This Cup of Harmony may prove to be his farewell.

Preferred starting lineup
Formation is...good lord, who knows. Really depends what side of bed Oslograd wakes up on. But the absolute madman will likely play a 3-4-3 of sorts, but really it’s more like a 3-2-5. If they are losing and need to score, they tend to stick with that. If they need to defend a lead Oslograd tends to be rather all or nothing, and will throw on the most defensive formation possible at short notice.

GK - 1. T Barton
RCB - 2. T Gerduns
CB - 5. K Strong
LCB - 6. F Law
RCM - 4. S Freeman
LCM - 16. G Richards
RW - 20. J Conway
CAM - 7. P Chadwick
LW - 11. K Fuller
RS - 10. T Duffy
LS - 9. P-L Le Tonnelier

Responsibilities

Manager: Skorji Oslograd
Head Coach: Skorji Oslograd
Father figure: Skorji Oslograd
Spiritual guru: Skorji Oslograd
Sexual counsel: Skorji Oslograd
Chosen One: Garret Ramsey
Captain: Willem Ajax
Vice captain: Tom Duffy
Free kicks: Peter Chadwick (Direct right foot), Samuel Freeman (Indirect)
Corners: Peter Chadwick (Right inswinging)
Penalties: 1. Peter Chadwick 2. Tom Duffy 3. Pierre-Louis Le Tonnelier 4. Samuel Freeman 5. Jowl Conway. All other penalties will be taken by Skorji Oslograd himself unless officials prevent him doing so.
Most likely to be found down the pub: Pierre-Louis Le Tonnelier
Biggest snake: Peter Chadwick
Least likely to win a quiz: Kasey Fuller
Most overrated: Tom Duffy
Most underrated: Joel Conway
Most likely to do something utterly inappropriate: Skorji Oslograd
Most likely to commit a crime: Skorji Oslograd
Most likely to look you get the point, the manager is unhinged all right?

I Give To My Opponent The Permission To:
=================================
Choose My Goalscorers: Y
Godmod Goalscoring Events: Y. Le T will score bangers only. Ramsey will score flukes only. Most own goals likely to be the fault of the plucky but unlucky Timwise Gerduns. Chadwick, Fuller, Freeman all likely to score. Strong deadly from corners.
Injure Players: Y, however I'll decide the severity. As for your own players, with Oslograd as manager. EOT players will deliver career ending injuries on command.
Godmod Injury Events: Y, however I'll decide the severity.
Red Card Players: Y
Yellow Card Players: Y
Godmod Other Events: Yes, but give me some warning/ask for advice unless its Skorji Oslograd doing something absolutely batshit in which case go for it. I reserve the right to contradict you in this case because he is a man who can bend reality with his sublime words after all. This is an unorthodox team, so feel free to be creative.

RAZNETA NATIONAL TEAM ROSTER FOR CoH 76
Image

Official Name: Kingdom of Razneta
Trigramme: RZN
Manager: Zakan Torozuk
Style: -3,5
Formation: 5-4-1

Goalkeepers
- Ranka Mazioka* A39 N1 - Simina FK / TAMGU
This legendary goalkeeper has been number one in the national team for 21 years since he was 18. He has kept his position for exactly 7.693 days. He is almost unbeatable from distance, his reflexes are still incredibly fast and his positioning leaves the striker with very low chances of scoring. Obviously, this doesn't matter most of the time, as he is usually left in near-impossible situations by the defense, despite the backline's abilities. Other teams are just better-er.
- Gazarno Litovino A23 N41 - Tasakvesiko KJ / RAZNETA
Promising second keeper of Razneta. It looks like he is going down the path of Mazioka. He has an apprentice-master relationship with the big guy. His performance against Port Ember, the one Razneta won by 2 goals to none, was impressive. Razneta's goal seems safe for at least another 10-15 years. I hope.
- Lioto Morokiva A30 N51 - Gastolovka KS / RAZNETA
He has had better times in his career than now. His form is declining as he enters his thirties. The errors he made in the Raznetan Cup Final last year made him the butt of many jokes. To be fair, the own goal wasn't completely his fault. He did well enough to catch the ball. But he was off-balance and fell, the ball came out of his hand and into the net. The manager later tried to stop all the piss-taking by saying that he had a minor concussion that day. Nobody took it seriously, obviously.

Full Backs
LWB
- Rokno Tinavyot* A31 N5 - Tasakvesilko KJ / RAZNETA
This man just does his job. He has low dribbling ability, but man can he steal a ball. His contribution to attacks is also remarkable. In the current season, he has 2 goals and 7 assists in all competitions except national. He has yet to assist for the blue wolves this year but he has created several chances.
- Hansa Talamun A33 N81 - Haasokova KAT / RAZENETA
At 33, you would assume he slowed down and became weaker. This guy does not believe in aging. He keeps improving his body every day. If someone were to choose one "engine" player it would be this guy. Oh? Defense? Well...He's pretty average. But the best of the worst. (We aren't that good at football)
RWB
- Pakot Hanavila* A26 N4 - Gesilo Hapartoma KS / RAZNETA
His presence in the National Team is pretty controversial. The behavior he shows is called unprofessional by most. Some say people need to emphasize with him. There's one this they agree on, it's that he is the best right-back in the country and the right man for the place, only regarding talent.
- Zanya Fodikona A22 N28 - Portevko KF / RAZNETA
This late-bloomer youngster has recently been called up to the national team and has done very well on his chances. His physical ability has increased quite a bit as he has been training very hard. He is also very injury-prone.

Center-Backs
- Eren Takarna* A29 N2 - Misin Timie SK / TAMGU
Eren has been in the NT for quite a while now. His consistency is what keeps him in the starting 11 for club and country. His heading and marking abilities are the ones that stand out the most. He's also quite pacy for a center-back. In the dressing room, there's nobody that doesn't like him as he is a great guy to be with and a good leader, making him second-captain.
- Zayori Gaganiro* A21 N92 - Gesilo Hapartoma KS / RAZNETA
The half-Tamguna youngster chose to play for Razneta, making him a national hero at 18. Since then he has put on impressive performances, some against the orange filth, to earn his place on the first XI. He's known for his marking and tackling skills. His height is lower compared to the team's other center-backs.
- Suzne Valiyoda* A27 N55 - CD Altosorias / ALPANOECA
A defender with shaky form is the last kind of player you could want in your national team but when you look at his performance when he IS on form, it's impossible to exclude him from the squad. That and the pool of center-backs isn't filled with amazing names.
- Roko Tosiloca A24 N41 - Gastolovka KS / RAZNETA
Everything about this player screams "bench". It's a miracle that he actually plays on the first XI of Gastolovka. There's no way that 3 players that came before him all had season finishing injuries. Wait a second...
- Dayoma Kitosova A33 N74 - No club, always training for NT
The old workhorse was benched for Zayori. His decline and Zayori's rise made it inevitable. He's accepted his role in the team and focuses on giving the most that he can until he retires. Really nice and humble guy. Shame he's bad at football. He's also a morale booster in the locker room.
- Jedso Bekivana A20 N29 - Haltebogra IF / KWERDEN
Promising player, but not good enough to play first 11. Usually does good on his chances and does well in his club. but the Kwerden Polkoklasa is even worse than RazKopa.

Defensive Midfielders
- Kaya* Taliszko A26 N8 - Tasakvesilko KJ / RAZNETA
Kaya in Raznetan means "shield", and he is living up to his name fully. His contribution to the defensive efforts of Razneta is one of the biggest reasons matches are won. He stands at 194 cm, making him a perfect head-winner as well. When encountered with pressure, he passes to Gelita.
- Gelita* Hasakina A28 N6 - Gastolovka KS / RAZNETA
Receives passes from Kaya. He's more pacy and agile than Kaya, likes to steal balls from dribbling players. His passing ability is also better than any other def-mid on the team. Especially the long balls he plays allows Razneta to go from back to front in seconds.
- Zota Hadsicha A22 N90 - Tasakvesilko KJ / RAZNETA
Basically Gelita but a little slower. The growth of his talent is slowing down as he is reaching his "potential". Not every youngster becomes an amazing player. But he is solid.
- Loleda Kotonemo A31 N15 - Haasokova KAT / RAZENETA
The madman of the team. He has a short temper so he gets angry a lot when he plays. He intimidates opposition and overpowers them even when it is not necessary. This man loves a good fight. It is debatable if he should be on the NT with this kind of attitude, but he's the 4th best def-mid in the country so he's here.

Wingers
LW
- [C]Han Golodiva* A33 N10 - Tasakvesilko KJ / RAZNETA
The captain of Razneta and probably the best player. He hasn't lost any of his skill or pace at 33 and continues to dominate the league with Tasakvesilko. The ball sticks to his feet when he's dribbling and his sight for crosses is perfect. His right foot sends rockets to the enemy goal, so closing his angles becomes a top priority for anybody defending against him.
- Yoko Kaliszica A25 N60

RW
- Yetvo Kiminelo* A29 N17
- Hasi Talinmako A24 N37

Strikers
- Raiko Tolokovsa* A31 N9
- Sora Gonomida A28 N36

I will do the descriptions of the remaining players later.

Cup of Harmony Squad Announced

Basic overview by the editors

Kits (Home/Away/Goalkeeper):

Image

Coaching Staff:

Manager: Bekir Altingunes
Age: 46
Bio: Bekir Altingunes whose star was once considered to be rising may have found himself on the hot seat for this qualification period, the former disgraced Agriculture Minister has carved out a reputation for being a player's manager and an astute media performer, though this has taken a knock with the AOCAF Cup debacle and his reputation was weakened by an underwhelming qualification campaign. From a strong Baptism of Fire, to a surprising showing in the Red Wolves first World Cup Qualifiers, to a mixed yet impressive campaign in the Cup of Harmony, he as shown that he is able to take the talent at his disposal and get it to go further than anyone could have imagined, even if there have been growing pains. He is known to favour the 4-2-3-1 formation with an attacking outlook that has left an often disorganised and overmatched defence exposed. His challenge now is to show that he can get this team back to the standards it was showing early on in his career, with his seat becoming increasingly hot.

Assistant Manager: Senol Tarimcioglu
Age: 61
Bio: A statistician turned Director of Football at Hisar, he has turned out to be an essential part of Bekir's staff, with his personnel insights proving invaluable in providing the national team with the best talent available despite a severe lack of sample size. An often underrated element of his role is the tactical insights he provides the manager during the matches with several of the best substitutions and tactical shifts being accredited to him by the manager. While his age is certainly advanced he has not indicated at all that he'd look to leave either his club or his national team role and is said to be on the pushing hard for staff to be hired as the national team seeks to expand its operation.

Goalkeeping Coach: Hasan Kocaeli
Age: 41
Bio: The former national team goalkeeper and current Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi player has been asked to lend his expertise to the national team and offer specialised training to the three goalkeepers in the squad. His excellent performances in the Super League as well as his time as third goalkeeper where he effectively fulfilled the role he is currently filling will stand him in good stead as he begins his coaching career.

Bio: Murat Yigithan put in three very good performances when he made it on the field, this combined with his very good league performances has meant that Bekir Altingunes has put his faith in the goalkeeper. The former lumberjack will be given the chance to cement and claim his place as the starting goalkeeper, well known for his professionalism and hard working attitude the national team will be hoping that he can manage the defence of the team and provide the quality goalkeeping that team has at times lacked. (played every match of WCQ)

12. Iskender Nur (Altin Akademisi) Caps: 18
Age: 20
Positions: GK
Bio: With the freshening of the squad, Iskender Nur represents something of a known commodity among the younger players in the squad, but he has been listed as the second goalkeeper. His predecessor as the starting goalkeeper is currently listed behind him while Murat Yigithan sits as the incumbent starting goalkeeper. That being said he has shown that he's more than capable of marshalling the defence and providing excellent shot-stopping.

23. Saban Inekci (Hisar FK) Caps: 14
Age: 30
Positions: GK
Bio: The former incumbent as the starting goalkeeper has had his share of struggles, often failing to gel with the defence put in front of him and plagued by unforced errors. He hasn't been helped by his defence as much as he deserved and in Bekir Altingunes' quest to strike the right formula on the defensive side of the ball he has been relegated to the reserves seemingly permanently, but will be a solid if uninspiring option should the worst befall Murat Yigithan and Iskender Nur.

Defenders:

2. Ozbek Sarikaya (Bassabook Old Boys (ZWZ)) Caps: 45 Goals: 1
Age: 32
Positions: DL
Bio: After a brief attempt to look elsewhere for a left back, Bekir Altingunes returned to his old favourite Ozbek Sarikaya for the qualifiers. He has left the Super League after being relegated to the bench in favour of playing abroad for Bassabook Old Boys in Zwangzug. He has always been a consistent and solid player for the national team providing a helpful anchor in an often troubled defence and he showed it yet again in the qualifiers justifying his starting role.

3. Eyup Mustafa (Almat JK) Caps: 44 Goals: 1
Positions: DC, DR
Age: 28
Bio: Capable of playing both as a full back and a centre back, as the more technically gifted of the centre backs he will be lining up on the left side of the pairing. He has found little in the way of stability in terms of who his partner is at international level, but he has almost never played seriously below par when the rest of the defence is clicking.

4. Berker Balkan (Uryanspor) Caps: 8 Goals: 0
Positions: DC
Age: 20
Bio: The young centre back impressed at the Di Bradini Cup and in his limited appearances during the qualifiers, he was able to smother opposition attackers both at that competition and his first two seasons in the Super League. He is now the starting centre back and will now be looking to cement his spot in the long term with a series of strong performances at the Cup of Harmony

5. Gokdeniz Dag (VC) (Uryanspor) Caps: 51 Goals: 0
Positions: DR
Age: 25
Bio: A regular and solid performer for the national team he will welcome the return of his good friend and former teammate Ozbek Sarikaya on the opposite flank, however known to be a professional and positive influence across the squad he will be relied upon to provide more of the same solid play that has lead him to be the first name on the teamsheet almost every match at both international and club level. He will be looking to bounce back from a difficult AOCAF and a less than ideal qualification campaign as will a lot of the rest of the team.

13. Osman Hasanoglu (1964 Briarcliff (HWY)) Caps: 23 Goals: 1
Positions: DC
Age: 31
Bio: Having been a part of some of the most suspect performances by the Red Wolves defence, he has remained on the bench after (perhaps unfairly) being considered the source of a lot of those problems. He remains on the squad as he can bring a physical presence that is capable of seeing out matches, but it's very clear his star has faded in the mind of Bekir Altingunes and looks to have continued to fade, despite this there's still reported to be a lot of respect from the coaching staff to him. He has also recently decided to take the leap and play abroad, which may have kept him in the mind of a coaching staff who were thought to have gone cold on the defender.

15. Metin Boz (Uryanspor) Caps: 37 Goals: 0
Positions: DC
Age: 30
Bio: Having occasionally taken a starting position as well as being a priority substitute, he might feel like a player whose time has finally come, however, he has found himself relegated back to the bench and will now have to provide support for this Cup of Harmony. That being said even if he is unhappy, he has never given the coaching staff any reason to doubt him and his experience at club level as captain of Uryanspor means his presence on the training field is almost always positive and he will provide critical secondary leadership if called upon.

18. Izzet Timur (Tashkentspor) Caps: 0 Goals: 0
Positions: DL
Age: 20
Bio: The one new addition to the squad added in favour of the struggling Beyhan Enver who made several lacklustre and even terrible appearances from the bench meaning that Bekir Altingunes has decided to look elsewhere. With the more versatile Yildiray Sabuktiginoglu providing versatile depth, Izzet will be the backup for the stalwart and ever solid Ozbek Sarikaya and will be unlikely to actually see action this Cup of Harmony. This should be seen very much as a learning opportunity for the gifted and young full back.

20. Yildiray Sabuktiginoglu (Kilicspor) Caps: 11 Goals: 0
Positions: DC, DL, DR
Age: 26
Bio: A gritty, determined player who has not seen very much of the field for the national team, but has shown large amounts of leadership and flashes of quality as he's played across all defensive positions at club level. Yet another player whose versatility has held them back, Yildiray is the ultimate depth player, a jack of all trades defender who prefers to sit as a centre back but is almost better in the full back positions which he doesn't specialise in.

Midfielders:

6. Atilla Acar (Demirspor) Caps: 48 Goals: 3
Positions: MC
Age: 27
Bio: Easily recognisable with his long flowing black hair and long beard, both of which flow as he endlessly runs up and down the pitch in the role of a box-to-box midfielder. Very capable of delivering pin point passes over long distances, he was an athletic player in a team that often lacks it, though he occasionally had a habit of disappearing from matches, but overall is a positive part of the team.

7. Tekin Yavuz (Devlet-Bira Fabrika Takimi) Caps: 33 Goals: 9
Positions: AMR, AML, AMC
Age: 32
Bio: Tekin Yavuz has seen his career go from strength to strength following his return to the national team, a star at DBFT and contributing at an exceptionally high level from the wings where he and Caner Turan are given large amounts of freedom to switch sides if they feel it's for the best. Though he is a bit suspect in his defensive duties, choosing to exert most strongly when he's attacking, he has found himself in a role as a key player.

8.Yusuf Ihsanoglu (Hisar FK) Caps: 48 Goals: 2
Positions: MC, DM
Age: 30
Bio: A defensive midfielder who has featured prominently for the national team, he found himself back in the starting XI after Bekir's attempt at refreshing the midfield backfired and Yusuf showed his usually poise combined with his grit that clearly showed Bekir what he needed to see. He wasn't as strong as many had hoped, but with no obvious heir apparent at the position he has held on to his spot as the starting midfielder on the defensive side of the pivot. He specialises in providing a screen for the defenders.

9. Caner Turan (Tashkentspor) Caps: 50 Goals: 12
Positions: AML, AMR
Age: 23
Bio: Considered the most gifted player on the team, he is a two footed winger who operates both as an inside forward and as a traditional winger. He and his new partner on the opposite flank will be able to switch freely if they find themselves unable to breakthrough against their particular opposite number, indicating Altingunes' confidence in his attackers. He is said to be agitating for a move abroad, but his play in the qualifiers likely dampened such ambitions and has allowed him to focus on his play rather than ambition.

10. Ertan Renda (C) (Elektriklestirmespor) Caps: 51 Goals: 18
Positions: AMC, MC
Age: 28
Bio: The diminutive, often lethargic looking player always takes opposition players by surprise. He isn't particularly fast, nor is he especially technically gifted and he doesn't really show any particular flair in general open play, but he's shown flashes of brilliance and genius throughout his international career and his career at club level. He is a very technical player who shows that his main talent is getting the job done. His determination makes him a valuable asset in such an intense and high pressing system.

16. Metin Aytacoglu (Tashkentspor) Caps: 11 Goals: 1
Positions: AMC
Age: 26
Bio: Metin showed himself to be a talented and capable player when he was called upon in relief of Ertan Renda, while he isn't likely to see a lot of action the team can be assured there is a solid backup option. While a more naturally gifted footballer than Ertan, he finds himself on the bench in favour of the Altingunes' preferred attacking midfielder.

17. Oztekin Timur (Almat JK) Caps: 5 Goals: 0
Positions: DM, MC
Age: 25
Bio: A tough bruising no nonsense defensive midfielder who is able to walk the line between getting yellow and red cards and simply being robust with his opposition. He will be the likely stand in for Yusuf should anything happen to him, though he's known to sit a little deeper by preference and has shown some adapting to Bekir Altingunes's system is still needed with only five caps to his name.

19. Tayyar Ozel (Demirspor) Caps: 34 Goals: 8
Positions: AML, AMR, AMC
Age: 29
Bio: Tayyar has found himself on the bench after several performances where he found himself rather invisible on the pitch. While he was dutiful in his defensive obligations, he often found himself unable to make a significant mark in several matches. His versatility means he's an excellent option off the bench, while he struggles to make impacts when he starts matches, his time as a substitute didn't improve his ability to make a serious impact during the qualifiers, but he will be eager to show that he still has ability.

21. Altan Seyfi (Tashkentspor) Caps:10 Goals: 2
Positions: MC
Age: 20
Bio: The young midfielder has really come into his own since impressing in the DBC and in his 10 appearances in the qualifiers, he was even the subject of a bid from abroad in the transfer window before the one currently open, but he opted to stay in Timuria for his formative years and play for Tashkentspor, his hometown team. He has gotten into the habit of scoring important - and impressive - goals often from long range. He showed that he could in his brief apperances, that he was capable of managing the demands of the international level though he wont be starting, many are sensing that there is pressure on Bekir Altingunes to place him in the starting XI.

Attackers:

11. Vatan Ercetin (Jinja City FC (BNJ)) Caps: 49 Goals: 34
Positions: ST, AMC
Age: 24
Bio: The national team's top goalscorer and a rare player who has managed to make the leap to a higher quality league abroad in the form of our neighbours Banija and have a sustained period of success. His veering between hot and cold streaks in the qualifiers haven't diminished any faith placed in him either by the country at large of by Bekir Altingunes, who continues to play him as a lone striker instead of as a number 10 as he is usually deployed at Jinja City. He will be looking to add to his impressive 34 goal count and continue to build up his reputation.

14. Ismail Burhan (Manat FK) Caps: 19 Goals: 10
Positions: ST
Age: 25
Bio: Having provided decent cover for Vatan in the Cup of Harmony and generally playing well in the Super League, Ismail is likely a little frustrated at his place on the bench. He's always been a model substitute for the team, willing to put 100% in no matter how long he's on the pitch for. A more complete striker than Vatan, if he is called upon it will likely be in a transition to a 2 striker tactic or if Vatan is forced to step back into the number 10 role. He failed to get on the score sheet during the qualifiers so will be looking to show that he can still produce goals at this level when given the opportunities.

22. Kartal Unal (Demirspor) Caps: 5 Goals: 6
Positions: ST
Age: 23
Bio: A relative unknown a few years ago, Kartal was actually Vatan's understudy at Demirspor, now he's one of the starting strikers and has been almost as prolific as Vatan. A pure poacher/advanced forward, he will be biding his time yet again to strike from the bench when his name is called and he is more than capable of scoring excellent goals no matter how long he's on the pitch as he showed in the World Cup Qualifiers with an impressive 6 goals in his five appearances with four coming from the bench. He has adapted fairly well to the demands of the international game, but Bekir Altingunes is still acclimating him to the international game and is naturally loyal to the ever excellent Vatan Ercetin.

Expected starting XI (4-2-3-1):
GK: Murat Yigithan
DL: Ozbek Sarikaya
DC: Eyup Mustafa
DC: Berker Balkan
DR: Gokdeniz Dag
MC: Atilla Acar
MC: Yusuf Ihsanoglu
AML: Tekin Yavuz
AMC: Ertan Renda
AMR: Caner Turan
ST: Vatan Ercetin

Notes

Between their appearances in the 24th and 32nd editions of the Copa Rushmori, Saintland underwent two time warps with over 50 years elapsing. In the years that elapsed, Saintland split into the Feministvs Sanctvsterra-run west and the Church of Saintland-run east which were eventually unified under the eastern government after King Petrus XX (now officially regarded as a usurper and heretic) died without a male heir and King Paulus XVI, son of King Andreas, refused to recognize the legitimacy of the law permitting Petrus's daughters to take the throne. After conquering Saintland, King Paulus XVI has restored the Church of Saintland to its legally dominant position and has pursued a course slightly more traditional than that of his grandfather. Sanctii time now runs at the same pace as Republican time (OOC: 1 year per WC).

The quality of Sanctii soccer has declined precipitously in recent years as baseball has become the most popular sport due to King Paulus XVI's legendary status in that sport. While King Paulus XVI's son Prince Andreas is tearing up youth soccer at the moment and may one day follow in his grandfather's footsteps, he is nowhere near ready for international competition which means that Saintland is returning to international play with a young defensive-oriented team led by goalkeeper Alessandro Suedius, the young goalkeeper for the St. Nicolaus team that has won the Sanctii league championship 3 years straight. Suedius selected a team of younger stars from the Sanctii league due to the low expectations surrounding the team.

The team is built around conservative, physical, defensive play. If the officials allow rough play, this Sanctii team will take advantage of it to frustrate attack-oriented opposition with a steady diet of borderline dirty tackles. As for the team itself, none of the players particularly stand out other than Suedius and Suedius will shuffle players in and out on a regular basis. The starters listed are the most likely starters but that exact lineup will almost never be the lineup Suedius goes with for an actual match.
