The Monthly Card Collection Competition (Win a Legendary!)

Postby Praeceps » Sat Dec 14, 2019 5:49 pm

The Monthly Card Collection Competition

Image

TL;DR: Enter a monthly competition to win a legendary!

What is The Monthly Card Collection Competition?

Each month, the Guildmaster will announce a new theme in this thread. Over the course of that month, participants will have the ability to build a collection fitting the monthly theme, and enter it into the competition.

What do I win?

Both winners will each receive a random legendary card from The Northern Light's collection as a gift. No legendary cards are off-limits: this is your chance to win some of the most valuable cards in the game!

Additionally, until new winners are selected, both winners will be able to request twice as many cards as they would normally be eligible for in our card giveaway. This means that, if a winner is a Guild member, they will be able to request two cards per week each, and if they are also a Keeper of the North, they will be able to request four cards per week. If you collection wins, make sure to become both to get the maximum number of free cards!

Who are the judges?

The competition will be judged by the North Pacific Cards Guild. Members of the Cards Guild will vote for the winner on the North Pacific forums for three days after the month concludes. In the event of a tie, it will be broken by the Guildmaster (currently Praetor).

That’s great! How do I enter?

Each month, we will be posting the theme on this thread and Guild property for that month’s competition. Once that month’s theme has been announced, you can post in this thread with your entry.

You may change the cards in the collection you are submitting to be judged as you please during the month. Don’t make any changes after the month ends! That is when the judges will be looking at the collections to decide which collection wins. Collections with changes between the month ending and the winner being announced will be disqualified.

Do you have to reside in TNP to enter? Can the collection already be in existence and not assembled during 12/2019?

Every country in this collection has a letter that belongs to the word "CHRISTMAS". Yeah, this might feel creative.

No, you do not have to reside in TNP. This competition is open to all nations regardless of region. And yes, the collection can already be in existence.

Hello! This is entry to this month's competition: TWP's Winter Wonderland. It is made only of cards from The West Pacific, and which bring a chilly feel to the collection!

P.S.: If I win, please contact me so you can gift the prize to another account, because this one has no deck capacity.

I feel I have an unfair advantage given the collections I built last year, so rather than submit an entry, I'd like to just take this opportunity to show off ;)

I like this collection. Luckily for me, when the pictures for the cards were set, it was around Christmas time. That meant that season 1 had a lot of good flags for a winter wonderland theme!

Coming from Christmas, collecting my region mates was an obvious choice.

These collections (this and this) look a bit random without context. Most are nations that played a part in the history of Christmas.

I love this idea of a monthly collection competition. And I'm loving some of those entries!

Unfair advantage or not I think you should enter your Region Mates Collection since it is so unique. None of the other entries are all from one region. In fact, I nominate your collection as an entry. :D

My guess is that the serious entries all started long before this contest was announced. My entry is a part of my collection of Maine themed cards.

Done with this collection just in time.

I've chatted with other members of the Guild membership—we will not be able to accept collections entered by nations that are not the owner. As we are giving away a legendary to the winner, we cannot give the legendary to whoever submits a collection—it should be the collection's owner. That being said, we would not want to give the Legendary to someone who doesn't want to enter a competition for it.

Loving the entires so far! Can't wait to see them all once the month ends! :D

When does this competition end, do we have an ending date and when we will know the winners? Is it like December or December 15th to January 15th?

The competition is monthly in that entries will have the entire month (December, January, February) to collect cards. As the Cards Guild has been releasing a lot of new projects, we were unable to post December's month theme as early as I would have liked.

Voting is currently ongoing for the winner and will be announced tonight/early tomorrow morning. The legendary should be gifted soon afterwards once I let TNL know who the winner is.

The next month's theme will be released at that time and will run into the end of January.

Congratulations to Koskalherria for winning December's competition! They have been gifted Crazy Girl and their deck value has doubled! Isn't that crazy?

Puns aside...

The theme for January 2020’s competition is…

Lights and Fireworks

Please post your collection in this thread to enter.
