Addendum to prior opinion, use in a C&C does obligate some number of them in general, unless one or two are being added in the 'throw it all in' method of proposal writing.

I think the only thing I would change is your list setup. Instead of using - I would use • and make it look more list like. Other than that, it looks good!

I will! I just use “-“ for the forum presentation. I always make it • for the proposal itself.

Give me a really good reason why I should commend someone for having rubbish civil rights and no political freedoms.

He doesn’t worry about his nation’s stats so much as what he can do to help his region. :p Nation stats are a necessity in some areas of the game but a luxury in others. In the area of the game in which Ramaeus is active, he does a lot of things that are good that don’t involve his nation stats for the most part. Exception being endorsements and influence.

While Ramaeus does indeed appear to be commendable, I would suggest that said honor be Regional, which is to say, internal, rather than a matter for the WA.

Ramaeus, according to it's stats, is an enemy of the freedom world.

NS stats don’t matter with this.

I’m currently a TEP native voting for, but I may switch to against and contact the gang about some sort of regional ceremony due to concerns brought up in this thread.

Agreed! We cannot commend a nation while they oppress their own people!

Regardless of what this nation has done, it's a dictatorship and is full of so many violations of human rights that commending it seems laughable. It's just not something I can support, and I will not give this nation any credit for what it has done until it radically changes its structure to the benefit of its people. At best its good actions would even out for its horrible domestic actions, but I believe it doesn't even deserve that. This nation's treatment of its citizens is abhorrent, and if anything we should be condemning it, not commending it.

You seem to forget that someone got a commendation based mostly on their work in their region very recently...

What stands here is a proposal to commend the actions of someone that has done so much for their region. NS stats aren't everything and don't really matter to many players, myself included.

In this case, they're not important either. Ram's actions across the years are more than enough to support this, regardless of nation stats. I understand this is a game and therefore stats might be important to many, but you're basically disregarding someone's work based simply on your dislike for certain stats and a specific WA category. That is laughable.

The issue here then is with the lack of a distinction between the nation and the person behind it. Commending the user may make sense, but this proposal is stated to be commending the nation, and that is what I have issue with. Without restructuring and rewording these types of proposals, they are about the nation, not the user, regardless of the actual intent behind them.

Writing a proposal to commend the player behind the nation is an R4(b) violation. Might want to peruse the SC rules at the top of this forum :)

Thank you to everyone who voted in favor of this resolution!

And regarding the controversy surrounding my stats, I don't actually RP. I tend to pick whatever I (as in, the person sitting behind the computer screen writing this reply) believe will be the most amusing outcome. My stats are reflective of nothing in-game.
Just some weeb.
