The Berdanvian Union, a nation made up of numerous communes under one flag has had a surge in prosperity thanks to the wonderful socialist utopia it has set up. Although this prosperity is great, a commune called Grezny in south west Berdanvia made up of Muslims can now afford arms to create a military. Secretively the islamic commune has slowly been stockpiling weapons and ammunition in hopes of one day overthrowing the current Berdanvian Union government and making it Islamic in the name of Allah. Although the Islamic Military is small compared to other nation's militaires, the Berdanvian Union's military is small in numbers and has outdated equipment. The Berdanvian Government is asking the International community for military aid in stopping these islamists from creating a nation wide islamic Berdanvia.

One which will unite all communes of Berdanvia under a new banner, a banner of Islam. How can a Socialist state stay socialist if there is no higher power guiding the working people? In the name of socialism and islam, the commune of Grezny under the arms of the Socialist Islamic Army has declared war on all the communes in the Berdanvia Union that will not comply to Sharia Law and the Islamic version of Socialism. The transmission cuts and immediately the Socialist Islamic army is deploying to bordering communes within the Berdanvian Union. Because the Berdanvian Military is disorganized, weak and underfunded, it will take awhile for it to mobilize. in the meantime the citizens of the bordering union and taken up arms to valiantly defend their union from Islamic takeover.

"To better observe the situation, we are deploying the FFH 331-Turo to the area. Should any other foreign actors express interest in intervening against these radical revolutionaries, the Neo-Scotia Kingdom will be there to aid those oppressed by violence and instability."

Thanks to the aid of Neo-Scotia with their ships patrolling the coasts of Berdanvia and the Imperial Armed Forces of Iran with their verbal support, the citizens of Berdanvia are now more motivated to defend their communes and the Union as a whole. Even with the support, the socialist islamic soldiers are taking over vulnerable towns and villages and have forced Sharia law on the citizens. Women are forced to wear hijabs, non muslims are executed on the spot, and food and supplies is raided to feed and support the islamic soldiers. The Armed Forces of Berdanvia, which is only 125,000 strong is still preparing for a large offensive that will hopefully strike into the Islamic commune and crush the terrorists at their homeland. Although this is a good plan, the only forces resisting the Islamic terrorists is costal aid from Neo-Scotia and armed citizens. The whole of Berdanvia is counting on the Armed forces of Berdanvia to strike soon or it may be too late.

The Free Kingdom of Allanea wishes to issue a statement of tentative support to the Berdanvian Union. While we of course cannot endorse a socialist lifestyle, it should be said that its replacement with a hyperviolent theocratic socialist dictatorship – whether Muslim or of any other religion – is not an improvement of any kind, and in fact is likely to pose a substantial risk to the Free Kingdom's national security if – as we expect – Grezny becomes a hive for terrorists that will attack other countries.

In light of the recent events we propose several avenues of aid:

1. We can provide the Berdanvian Union with surveillance equipment to monitor terrorist movements.
2. Because, it appears, the Berdanvian Union (unlike many socialist countries) does allow citizens to be armed for self-defense) we can send professionals to hold training classes and other events for citizens who want to fulfil the socialist ideal of an armed workers' militia.
3. We are willing to allocate a small amount of aircraft to support the Berdanvian armed forces, if runways can e provided for them.
4. A limited-scale kinetic intervention may also be considered in the future.

The Shah (dictator) of Grezny sits in his compound in the capitol of Grezny listening to his advisors tell him how the war is playing out.

Advisor #1 "My majesty, I have recieved word from our war Generals that our Islamic-Socialist Army has been making clear progress in capturing key cities and towns in bordering communes".

Advisor #2 "Although the Berdanvian Union Army hasn't been deployed yet, the armed citizens fighting us are getting significant aid from countries such as Allanea, Neo-Scotia, and even fellow Muslims from the Imperial Sovereignty of Iran. I advise we switch to unconventional tactics of warfare if we are to combat our enemies and achieve our overall goal of Sharia Law across Berdanvia".

Shah: "Thank you both for your wise words, we shall gather determined Muslims who are willing to die for Allah and bless them with the holy duty of suicide bombers. If Grezny is invaded by the unholy hordes of Berdanvia and its allies, every Muslim in Grezny will fight till the bitter end. the islamic-socialist Armies have taken over bordering towns and villages of nearby communes, but they are worried that the Armed Citizens and allied aid from other countries will retake the land. Therefore suicide bombers have been deployed in islamic-socialist occupied areas. They are dressed as regular citizens, but are fierce and when given the right opportunity will lunge themselves are their enemies and happily blow themselves up.

At several airfields throughout Berdanvia, Allanean airliners rented by the Ministry of War began landing. In their cargo holds they carried a cargo of police equipment which Berdanvia urgently seemed to need. First and foremost, these were small, portable drones, surveillance equipment small enough to fit in into a police car's trunk, cameras, and so forth.

In passenger compartment, enjoying unusual levels of comfort for a military ride, sat several dozen professionals, some of them members of the armed forces, others civilian contractors hired for the mission on short notice. They would begin organizing classes for civilians to better protect themselves in a terrorist attack, and for police officers and soldiers to be better use the hi-tech equipment that Berdanvia was now being given.

Simultaneously with this, several Athena solar drones were launched and began patrolling the skies over Berdanvia. Information from those drones was immediately sent to the Berdanvian government.

Obviously, this was only a small amount of help, but already this would make important differences. However, to distract from what they were doing, and to attempt and disorient the Grezky Islamists, the Free Kingdom Ministry of War – as it often did – decided to send out a message. It was soon posted on a variety of Islamist sites, where the enemy was bound to find it.

What will they do when I, and my brothers, actually go hunting for them? They do not even have uniforms to issue the suicide bombers to pose in the propaganda photos!

The people of Berdanvia are brave and committed to fight you and your so-called Shah. Every town in Berdanvia has its workers' militia. Every house is a fortress.

Soon enough, the coalition partners will come for you and your rulers. People like me will hunt high and low for your leaders – and I guarantee you that our leaders will not send us to fight in crappy white undershirts and grey jackets – we will have the best uniforms and weapons and vehicles. Will there be a hole for your leaders deep enough to hide? And if there is such a hole – will your leaders provide you with such a hole?

Happily for you, Allaneans are not only rich, smart, and capable of extreme violence – we are also kind and generous! King Alexander Windsor rotated a pen slowly through his hands. His Privy Council had been assembled in the wake of the unfolding events in Berdanvian.

"With the level of support pouring in from other states, we are confident in our ability to execute a small operation in support of the Berdanvian Union." Stated Minister of Defence Peter McKay."

"I've reached out to our friends in Bermuda. Our usual contractor will be able to match our planned expedition of two hundred men." Added Foreign Minister Karen Casey.

"And we'll have sufficient knowledge of the land?" Inquired King Alexander.

McKay exchanged a look with Casey, "We believe that the Berdanvian Union will cooperate fully." McKay said with a confident nod. "We also have no reason to doubt that both Iran and Allanea will provide their own intel on components of Berdanvian. If this mission is to succeed it will require the cooperation of all parties. We believe that they see this too."

King Alexander placed a hand thoughtfully to his head, "Mr. Premier, your thoughts?"

Premiere Stephen McNeil leaned forward and then spoke, "I have the full confidence of my cabinet for this operation. It is to my understanding that the General brass has weighed in agreement. HMS Turo is already patrolling off the coast and could provide the needed support for any incoming air lifts."

"Very well." King Alexander said satisfied, "I'm issuing the writ for this mission."

From there a series of prepared orders were issued down lines of communication. The Air-force prepared one CC-130J Super Hercules and one C-295 transport planes to air lift approximately 200 Neo-Scotia Infantrymen to a government secured air force base close to the region of Grenzy. The units deployed belonged to the Halifax Rifles, an elite armoured reconnaissance unit. Although the soldiers would be without armoured or air support while in Berdanvian, they would be supported by the Hamilton Earthstriders from Bermudan PMC SKANNA. The Earthstriders provided their own air transit, at a premium fee to the Neo-Scotia Government. Although a luxury expense for the small nation, utilizing small PMC companies to reinforce their own troops became central in the Neo-Scotia military doctrine after the conflicts in Rhode Island some years prior. The foot soldiers of both contingents possessed both heavy anti-armour and anti-air weaponry. Offshore the force would be supported by the HMS Turo, which sat passively aside as the waters of Berdanvian remained peaceful.

Thus, we would like to send any support possible for The Berdanvian Union although we do not agree with them on economics. However, there are multiple concerns over whether our highly-advanced weaponary will fall into the hands of the enemy. We request permission from the Berdanvian Union to utilise nuclear weaponary on Grezni."

Neo-Scotia and Allanea planes land on a commercial airfield turned military air field 125 Miles from the capitol of Grezny. Bjorn Ness, the Prime Representative of The Berdanvian Union greets the Neo-Scotia and Allanea soldiers as they arrive.

Once the troops, military equipment, and vehicles are settled, Bjorn Ness gathers all soldiers together and speaks via a megaphone to the valiant soldiers.
Bjorn Ness: "Greetings and my utmost thanks to Neo-Scotia and Allanea for supporting our Union in its most desperate time of need. As we speak the Islamic-socialist Army is raiding towns and villages in nearby communes. They are relentless in their bloody mission to turn the Berdanvian Union fully islamic. The People's militias are fighting to the best of their ability to hold off the islamists but they need professional aid desperately. Although I would love to liberate the communes from the Jihadist scourge, we must hit the Islamic-socialist army where is hurts, in Grezny. Although I do not know where the Shah of Grezny is hiding, I propose we carpet bomb the whole of the Grezny commune into smithereens. Once Grezny is bombed, I'm sure the Islamic-socialist army will pull their forces back to their homeland to defend it. Once that happens, we will launch a full on land invasion. Soldiers and tanks alike will storm the capitol of Grezny in an epic battle."

Bjorn Ness pauses his speech when he hears the Berdanvian national anthem in the distance. Him and everyone else turn to the direction of the anthem and they see fully equipped Berdanvian Army soldiers marching towards the air base. Finally the Berdanvian Union has gathered their legit Army to protect their homeland. Bjorn Ness and every soldier from Neo-scotia and Allanea cheer for the Berdanvian soldiers.

With a smile on Bjorn Ness' face, he grapbs the megaphone once again and in a patriotic shout "For Berdanvia, for the Union, today we squish the islamic scourge from Berdanvia!". And with that, the offensive on Grezny is soon to come.

Nojgur has received the news of what is happening and the Sultan Abdelzadir decides to have a meeting with the Parliament to decide who to side with. The Parliament begins arguing but eventually peacefully votes for Nojgur to side with the Berdanavian Union. With this Nojgur begins forming an army of 600K Soldiers. A few days later Nojgur declares war on Grezny and sends the soldiers to the Berdanavian Union to help them. meanwhile 300K soldiers are mobilized on the border with Iran just incase they try anything. The People of Nojgur already patriotic with military victories against Pakistan [now annexed] begin to wave flags of Afghanistan and Nojgur across the country. Nojgur also sends 10 Bombers to start a bombing on Grezny Military Bases.

It's likely that – given our lack of appropriate intelligence – many of the terrorist leaders will be able to hide from the bombing in bunkers, basements, or simply in the woods, and most of the munitions you expend will be purely wasted. He paused. "First, it's necessary to set up patrols and roadblocks on all roads, rivers, railroads, and so on leading to Grezny, and require security checks on anyone going in or out. Satellite and drone surveillance by my country is already being carried out to gather information on terrorist movements, and I believe within a few days we'll be able to have a survey in place that provides us a measure of understanding of their objectives and tactics. We are also working closely with your law enforcement organizations to collect SIGINT on the terrorists."

Neo-Scotia Commander, Major Luke Jacoby, stepped forward to address Bjorn Ness, "Sir, I agree with my colleague from Allanea. We should not carpet bomb Grezny but instead target main military assets of the rebellion. If we want the enemy to defend their territory there must be something there to defend. Furthermore, such an operation would be against the ROE for Neo-Scotia forces in Berdanvian. Although I am not an expert, many countries, including Neo-Scotia would have human rights concern and that may threaten numerous potential members for this coalition. For the Kingdom's support, no such operation could take place. Our force is equipped to act as a piercing vanguard for any counter attack against the Grezny rebels."

While the day passed, other air lifts would arrive at the air base. Some contained weapons and ammo for the Berdanvian Union, while others carried the light tactical and utility vehicles for the Halifax Rifles and Hamilton Earthstriders. Meanwhile off the coast, the HMS Turo monitored the arrival of other naval ships. The CH-148 Cyclone was launched from the stern helipad of the Halifax Class Frigate. The Cyclone identified one of the Jelleain strike groups and scoped out some of the capabilities of the ships. Further passes would be made in the coming hours once the Cyclone could be properly refuelled and serviced. The Rezmaeristan arrival was also noted by the sensors of HMS Turo. Although their cargo and intentions were unknown, their call signs revealed the identity of the aircraft and Rezmaeristan's presence was revealed to Neo-Scotia for future reference. Quickly it became apparent to Neo-Scotia commanders on the ground that the limited forces of the Kingdom might be ineffective in acting in a growing conflict.
