Ukraine has, Georgia has not because they have been Very Naughty, much in the same way that got Turkey kicked out.

+++Bio: Born in 2014, Svitlana came from a family with many former pilots. Some distant ancestor flew a La-5 in WWII and later a MiG-15 in the Korean War, her grandfather flew an Su-25 in the Soviet-Afghan War and her father was a MiG-29 pilot, flying strike missions against Novorussian separatists in eastern Ukraine. Her father would unfortunately be shot down and severely injured in 2020 after an uptick in intensity in the Ukrainian conflict which led to the Russian Air Force attempting to enforce a no-fly zone over Donetsk and Luhansk. With no siblings, Svitlana felt it was her responsibility to continue her family's history of being fighter pilots and make up for her father's career being cut short by the Russians. When she finished high school in 2031, she immediately entered the Ukrainian Air Force Academy. A few short years later, she was being trained to fly the Gripen-E, newly purchased by Ukraine to update its armed forces and bring it more in line with NATO standards after becoming a member. Her missions consisted of chasing away Russian and Turkish aircraft that got a little too cocky testing NATO airspace, and the occasional bombing mission against the Novorussians when Ukrainian intelligence spotted buildups of forces or new shipments of weapons.

Svitlana, however, wanted more action and possibly even a chance to shoot down an enemy aircraft rather than just chasing them away. As luck would so have it, NATO became involved in "peace enforcement" in the Caucasus region as Armenia and Azerbaijan decided to fight over Nagorno-Karabakh again and Georgia took Russia's weakened position as an opportunity to take back South Ossetia and Abkhazia. "Peace enforcement" soon turned into directly backing Azerbaijan when the Russian Air Force started providing air support to Armenian forces after deciding that Azerbaijan was the clear aggressor. Svitlana would go on two shoot down two Armenian Su-25s, two Russian Su-34s, and a Russian Su-35 over the few months of combat in the Caucasus. The Azeris offered a few NATO pilots positions as contractors to help train and assist the Azeri Air Force following the conflict. Svitlana was one of the pilots who accepted this offer. She continued with flying as a contractor for the Azeris briefly until China started collapsing on itself and the Taiwanese came looking for volunteer pilots. She was one of the volunteers who went to Taiwan. The few months of combat left her looking for more, and this was the best way to get more.

I'm assuming we're using the other AC RP system which is basically an honor system with optional dice rolling. So basically what you said, not blasting every enemy out of the sky and claiming boss/ace kills, perhaps with the odd dice roll if you feel like you want it to be down to RNG.

It's mostly a trust system. if you're not sure it'll work, or if you're attacking a boss, I'll use a paired d20 versus roll, attacker vs defender. Defender wins ties.

Lack of enthusiasm in the capitalist system. Lack of God... I knew better than to contradict them and tried as hard as I could to fake my newfound belief in God and Mammon. Those who did not were... severely dealt with. My sister tried her hardest to support me, returning to China as a PLAAF pilot. I did not know how else to return. The central government in Beijing is but a sham, and no warlord appealed to me. +++Bio: Born to Japanese immigrants who came to Malaysia in 2016 and settled in Kuala Lumpur. Intan would have problems growing up as he was often bullied by his classmates because of his Japanese heritage. During one usually bad day when he was being bulled by a group of students, a girl came up and stood up for Intan, the bullies not wanting to fight a girl left. Intan asked the girl why did she help him and she said she could not stand that sight of him getting bullies. He asked what her name was and she replied it was Varsha. Intan and Varsha became friends that day and would share a close bond with each other over the years.

While Intan was growing up, his father wanted him to be a doctor like him. However, Intan had no desire to become a doctor and it was a source of tension between the two. While Intan and Varsha were hanging out one night, the two started to talk about their future. Varsha had plans to join up with the military and become a fighter pilot. Intan did not know really what he wanted to be and thought it would be nice to learn how to fly. Be given the ability to soar in the open sky, the thought stayed in his mind. After thinking about it, he decided on becoming a fighter pilot with Varsha. This angered Intan's father and led to a heated argument that led Intan to stop talking to his father and joined the airforce as soon he was able.

When China started to fall apart, the Malaysian government was interested in what was happening to China. Unable to officially sent their own forces to China to monitor the situation, the Malaysian government decided on another approach. Intan was chosen to be an observer of sorts and was quietly discharged and given a plane. Varsha was coming with him as his co-pilot and was sent to Taiwan. Both nervous and excited for this change, even more so if he actually makes a difference in China. With Varsha being with him, he is sure he can brave any challenge thrown at him.

Being the eldest sibling, Varsha was always protective of her little brother and would defend him from bullies when she was around. The bullies left, not wanting to fight a girl and the boy asked why she stood up for him. Varsha gave him an answer that does not watch while others get bullied. Varsha had an okay life growing up despite being poor and unable to afford to send Varsha or her brother to a college. Wanting to find a way to escape this poverty and possibly help to support her family. She thought long and hard about it and one day when she was looking up at the sky, watching a passing plane. Varsha knew what she wanted to do, to join the military and become a fighter pilot. Satisfying both of her goals and at first, her parents were hesitant about Varsha joining the military. But, after talking about it with her and seeing how much she wanted to join, they relented and supported her decision. Even more excited when she learned that Intan was going to join the airforce. They joined the same day and have worked with each other since.

When the situation in China was deteriorating, the Malaysian government wanted to have people on the ground to monitor the region. Not wanting to send an official force so as not to risk an international scandal. They decided on another approach selecting Intan to be an observer to the region. However, he needed a co-pilot and given Varsha's relationship with Intan and how well they worked together. She was selected to join him and was discharged and sent along with Intan to Taiwan. Besides being Intan's co-pilot and watching the events unfolding in China. She has heard much about how the PRC made oppress their people and hopes to see an end to their influence.

Sorry to be bit of the bother, I was working on the tragic backstory of one of my two chara apps and they're both Indonesian nationals. Long story short, I was planning that she used to be a fighter pilot for the Indonesian air-force and pretty good one until the fateful day. During the UN peacekeeping efforts, her whole squadron got shot down by an ace merc pilot and she's the sole survivor by luck. To add an insult to her injury, her squadron is not listed in the news and not reported, it's as if they don't exist.

As a result, what once an idealistic and hyperactive young gal who has become a jaded and weary woman. She feel she had lost her a lot of her friends in the instant and the world just pretended they don't exists. She became a wandering mercenary pilot for her in attempts to vent out her grief and anger.

So, I was wondering if there's an UN Peacekeeping incident in this verse I can use for her backstory or you don't mind me making it up as long it makes sense?

Seems a bit 'original character'-ish, but Ace Combat is full of characters like that, so it's fine. Feel free to make one up so long as it involves Mauritania, Zimbabwe (now Zimbabwe-Rhodesia), or Arabian Sea pirates.
