DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - WOMEN

These are tough times for Fleftic football. After having experienced the rise of a so-called "golden generation" of players at right around the same time that Abanhfleft finally joined the greater multiverse, everyone is seemingly losing their heads now that the Fleftic teams are just losing left and right. Rebuilding is the word that everyone knows is being thought but not said, but even that is encountering problems seeing as even Abanhfleft's youth teams are doing very poorly in their competitions. The danger of overperforming in the early years has seemingly finally caught up with the Democratic Republic, and now the Samahang Futbol ng Abanhfleft is having to do everything in its power to reverse a troubling trend and finally get this sports-obsessed nation back on the right track. They tried to do that in the Independents Cup but that didn't pan out as good as they would have wanted. And now it's time for the World Cup itself. It couldn't have come at a worse possible time...

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: Blue, orange, and green
Style modifier: +2.75 (a slightly less attacking playing style for the Independents Cup)
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Ginny Katesmar (50 y/o, North Prarie)

STARTERS
GK: Stephanie BRYAN 35 y/o, Antslinngs Islands Ladies Image
Stephanie Bryan finally gets to represent the blue, orange, and green once again after over four years of sitting out due to a new reliance on the likes of Yannie Redborne and Yelena Valinovskaya to ride the bench while Victoria Carter is on form, but with Redborne now retiring from international footie and Valinovskaya recovering from ligament repair surgery, Steph will now get the chance to be seen riding the Fleftic bench once again. But whether she will be the long-term replacement for Carter and the rest is still up in the air as there are more promising keepers out there, at least according to Holly Jonasson. Finally gets a run out as the starter for the women's national team, at least for the 5th Independents Cup.

RB: Colleen ADAMS 28 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Women Image
There was a time when people wondered what Colleen can offer to the national side. Seven years on and now we know what it is: defensive solidity in the back four. What more can a team ask for then? Well, maybe less yellow and red cards from Colleen. She's had her fair share of those at club level and the SFA is not really keen on her starting up a new account with the referees at the Independents Cup.

RCB: Catarina SOLER 34 y/o, Keephall Valkyries Image
Soler has served as a dependable supporting unit for both center-backs, but once again she is a player that is played out of position in most international games that she gets to play. Soler prefers being a true center-back, but that doesn't mean that she shirks from the responsibilities of being a central fullback shifted a little to the right or the left. Soler had a chance to rise up to the senior women's team but a drop in form coinciding with injuries has kept her out of the national team setup until now. Now Catarina wants to prove that she still has what it takes to be an international quality center back.

LCB: Miranda SULLINS 28 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Women Image
An exciting prospect if only for the fact that she had gotten herself noticed through the Sporting Ceneisis youth academy, which had been a bit neglected by Artemio Peres in favor of getting players both locally and abroad for as much as his team's Bellinsgauzenian boss is willing to let him spend. Still, it wouldn't do to take away from the fact that she is indeed a good defender, if a bit raw even for the standards of the under-21 teams. And an international call-up such as thing can do no harm to her career. Right?

LB: Deborah RIDDLES 26 y/o, Keephall Valkyries Image
Right now, she's a left back, but Deborah is a natural wing-back who has the potential to develop into an out-and-out winger. Deborah is currently playing with the defense, but only because that is her best footballing position at the moment. Still loves to throw in a cross and will often clog up the left side of the field alongside the team's out-and-out left wingers.

RM: Stephanie WINTER-SLAUGHTER 27 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Women Image (Fhulghamous Peninsula, playing in the Fleftic Ladies' Premier League)
Winter-Slaughter's surname sounds rather weird when you consider her biggest asset is an unprecedented sense of justice, but it really is. Winter-Slaughter, while a competent midfielder with enough room to grow, became much more notorious for her actions both in and outside of the field, often helping opponents and team-mates at distress from injuries or pretty much anything else. Conquered some hearts for her kindness, funnily enough. Stephanie was given Fleftic citizenship on the recommendation of Heinrich Wurzmann after the disappearance of the Unified Sunrise Islands so that Abanhfleft could take advantage of her talents.

LM: ERIN Jensdottir-Jennings 30 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image
We finally come to one of the most controversial additions to Abanhfleft's Independents Cup squad yet. Not a person living in Abanhfleft hasn't heard of the story of Erin Jensdottir and her friend Britt Hanokssen. The two of them had gotten in trouble with an Anglatian gang and their friend Bisera Haralampieva, of Rosen City Ladies and Pridnestrovia women's national team fame, called on another friend of hers to get Erin and Britt out of trouble. They did so by faking Erin and Britt's deaths and substituting them for two dead bodies. Britt and Erin had ended up playing for FC United of Riuwiee in the seventh tier of Fleftic football before they finally came clean about their status, resulting in the biggest ever points deduction in Fleftic football history and a massive settlement package with Hunsen Loggers from United of Riuwiee for both Erin and Britt. Erin is described as the complete playmaker able to operate from deep or right in front with the forwards, which is why Heinrich Wurzmann recommended her naturalization in time for the Independents Cup.

RW: Elene LINER 24 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Ladies Image
Even at her young age, Elene already has the look of a future fantastic keeper. Well, what else can be said about the Sarvusdalamoive Football Academy, which has turned out great Fleftic keepers like Maksim Varamoninov and Victoria Carter? Unfortunately, she's slipped down the pecking order, but only because Brook Arzate deserves the chance to start this time. She had a lot to make up for after that emotionally devastating penalty shootout loss against Schottia in the 9th Under-15 World Cup and she ended up not having the mental strength to get over the disappointment of the shootout so she decided to become a striker instead. This way she hopes to emulate some of Abanhfleft's star forwards like Matthew Cave and Ruud Akinfenyor who started off as goalkeepers and then decided to make the move up to the top of the pitch.

CAM: Prudence WOODWARD 24 y/o, Duhblakk Aztecs Image
Prudence Woodward is the third and final player of Panemian descent to represent the blue, orange, and green for the Sporting World Cup. She is the younger sister of Julius Woodward and her future appears to be in central attacking midfield. Prudence is already displaying a taste for clever through-balls and occupying pockets of space in which she could create chances and even score a few goals herself. Prudence has also been rumored to be displaying more than just friendly attention and camaraderie with the team's resident lesbian Poppaea Fleet-Street but that's hardly important to the conversation. But although nothing has been confirmed yet, it could be said that it won't be much of a surprise if Prudence came out and admitted that she has a relationship with Poppaea. Also already a mother after an argument with Prudence led to a one-night stand with fellow under-18 teammate Prince William Luckless.

LW: Amelie RUSEV 24 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies Image
Amelie Rusev is the best player on current Fleftic under-18 team after Gareth Williamson. At just 18 years old, she's already looking like the complete winger package. Not only is she both quick and light on her feet and strong in the air and during challenges, she is ambidextrous, able to use both feet to send in long balls and crosses into the box when she wants. With that added crossing ability, Amelie is already on her way to the first team of Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies at such a tender age. Kasper Molak will surely look to make Amelie the successor to Raisa Korovina as the next Miss Ludogorets.

ST: Kelly McGINNIS 24 y/o, Hoventon & Corlington Town Image (Mercedini)
Kelly McGinnis could very well be the next Chelsea Stuart. Lord knows she's got the raw talent in her veins and her feet. Her only problem is in getting out of Besanza to continue her development and make sure that it's on the right track to actually making her the next Chelsea Stuart. Kelly wants to move abroad to develop herself in a world-class side, and she believes that the Sporting World Cup is her way to gaining that attention and getting that move abroad. She did well in her first stint abroad, winning a domestic cup with Mercedini's Hoventon & Corlington Town, but another potential loan move to the Gallian Union fell through and she's had to stay with Airbus Besanza for this season. This could very well change though as another opportunity could be opening up for her, but it's going to take her much farther away from the Fhulghamous than just Mercedini...

RESERVES
GK: Ursula QATINTIKI 32 y/o, Crisisbless Athletic Image (Nephara)
Qatintiki is a ferocious keeper who believes herself to be a good sweeper but unfortunately doesn't have all the necessary skills to be an actual sweeper keeper. Fortunately for her, she's managed to keep 10 clean sheets in the Premier Development League (Ladies' Division) for Sarvusdalamoive Ladies. Unfortunately for her, this performance hasn't carried to her first international call-up in the Sporting World Cup, where she conceded a total of 14 goals in the tournament. But the presence of an experienced back four in front of her could help her concede less in this tournament. Despite being a rapidly rising star in Sarvusdalamoive, Qatintiki opted to cut her contract and sign up for the Pridnestrovian Volunteer Legions in ESTORVIPA. She could actually be charged with treason for fighting for another sovereign nation but the SFA has pulled favors with the Ministry of Justice to delay her trial until the end of the Independents Cup.

GK: Bronwyn CHURCHILL 24 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image
Bronwyn is the daughter of Rosenpfelblatz City's new manager Joseph "Joe" Churchill, one of the most decorated managers in the sport within the Fleftic sphere of influence. Bronwyn came with her dad to Rosenpfelblatz and immediately settled in well with the Lady Sky Blues' academy. She is a traditional keeper who prefers to keep close to goal and catch or slap away shots from that position, although she is learning to become a more athletic keeper now that she's training with the likes of Yannie Redborne, Marfa Kirilenko, and Blaze Chrzanowska. It should be noted that Joe Churchill would have liked it more if his daughter had not wanted to be a goalkeeper, but at least he as a father won't worry about where she's been before, during, and after training because they're always in close proximity to each other.

RB: Queen YARNALL 21 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Women Image
A quiet and sturdy defender who for her age is already making waves not only in the youth leagues but also in her handful of appearances for the Admiral Porcusces Women senior team. Still needs some work obviously but she could have a very high ceiling indeed.

CB: Christy SHEPLEY 25 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image
At 6 feet 2 inches, Christy is already one of the tallest 17-year-old Fleftic central defenders ever in the Democratic Republic and its sphere of influence. Coupled with a supernatural defensive ability, it's a wonder why she's still on the bench and not starting, until one realizes that Christy is quite the thin and willowy girl. She's a good defender and good in aerial and dead-ball situations, there's no doubt about that, but she has to bulk up and get stronger if she is to become one of Abanhfleft's best defenders. She remains on the bench to make way for Miranda Sullins and Catarina Soler in this Independents Cup squad.

CB: Tiera WALRATH 23 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image
One quarter of the Ogovlich backline that won them the Youth Premier League title this season. Like Wilton Kaba beside her in the under-18 team, Tiera's main purpose is to win balls inside the box and then kick it right out of the danger area. Accuracy needs a bit of work though.

LB: Tien GOODLETT 22 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas Image
The second quarter of the Ogovlich backline that won the Youth Premier League. Tien is more of an attacking fullback who likes to maraud further up the pitch and assist in the attack. She still gets back in defense more times than not but a particularly quick counterattack could still leave her stranded where she can be of no help to her fellow defenders.

RM: SIBUSIZWE Kiggwancha 22 y/o, Athletic Motonou Image
SIbusizwe's greatest strength lies in the fact that she can win the ball in midfield more times than not. Of course, most of this is against girls and boys on or nearly the same age as she is, but when she turned out for Athletic Motonou's senior side in the last few matchdays of the Ladies' Third Division season (with the title already wrapped up for Motonou) Sibusizwe looked capable of doing much the same thing against players who were much older and much more experienced than her. Sibusizwe won't have to do that against older and experienced players from other national teams just yet, but she will have to do it against her fellow under-18s from other countries starting from this tournament.

CM: Abigail PAPADIAMANTOPOULOS 31 y/o, All-Inclusive Haranguer Image
Abigail is the tallest player in this roster at 6 feet 8 inches, taller than even her supposed lookalike Stephanie Bryan. Abigail used to play Sunday league with Anglatia's Ross Port Rangers before Fleftic scouts noticed her during the 38th Di Bradini Cup and she signed a contract with Wallace Partridge's All-Inclusive Haranguer. Partridge chose to sign Abigail due to her size and her playstyle which is very much reminiscent of one of the most famous (if not the best) players to put on the black-and-amber shirt in Sutalen "The Beast of Copper Cuprum" Desoka. Despite helping All-Inclusive Haranguer to a fifth-place finish in the 2022-23 season, she was never called up for Anglatia's national team, and with the country now returning to its policy of total isolation, Abigail was given Fleftic citizenship on the recommendation of Heinrich Wurzmann so the SFA could take advantage of her skills on the pitch.

LM: Charlene WILLIAMSON 25 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Women Image
Charlene Williamson is the overlooked twin sister of Gareth Williamson. The reasons why she's been overlooked is because her main assets in football are mostly pace, acceleration, physicality, and a good long ball. Charlene can also run with the ball or chase it for 90 minutes and anyone stupid enough to try to take the ball away from her would find themselves on the ground almost immediately. Strangely though, Charlene's physicality tends to vanish during set pieces and Charlene could now count herself lucky if she doesn't end up kissing the grass while trying to get a touch on a corner or a free kick. Perhaps that's why Sporting Ceneisis allowed her to go to their provincial rivals Admiral Porcusces.

CAM: BRITT Hanokssen-Hanks 27 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Ladies Image
Erin Jensdottir's best friend and girlfriend, Britt has been called "too ambitious for her own good" by the man who would eventually recommend bringing Britt over to Rosenpfelblatz, Matthew Cave. Britt isn't exactly the best, most mobile, most skillful, fastest, or most accurate player available for the Independents Cup, but she makes up for it in her sheer never-say-die attitude. Other things that other players might consider lost causes are just more challenges for Britt to overcome. That being said, if Britt does end up making an appearance for Abanhfleft, it's probably more out of desperation than anything else. But still, no one knows. Maybe this is the tournament where Britt finally shines bright.

FW: Annamarie SABADO 29 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image
LS: Annamarie SABADO 21 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies Image, female
Sabado has the makings of being "the next Fleftic super-sub." No less a footballing authority than Arsenal de Releinthi manager Godric Wexler said so after Sabado had scored the game-winning goal against Lutine to give Abanhfleft a ticket to the Sporting World Cup final. And, judging from her inclusion into the Independents Cup, Heinrich Wurzmann and Miriam Whitaker look to do the same with her for the coming tournament.

FW: Irina BABARUSHCHIK 34 y/o, Dynamo Shebchetsik Image (Mercedini)
Babarushchik used to be in (friendly) competition with Annamarie Sabado for the position of Arsenal de Releinthi Ladies U-21s' starting striker, but Sabado ended up being the winner in the long run as Babarushchik couldn't wait for Chelsea Stuart to retire (which is still a long time coming anyway) and the half-Pridnestrovian striker struck out for greener pastures in the form of Mercedini's Dynamo Shebchetsik. Now, as both Irina and Annamarie return to the Fleftic national team setup for the Independents Cup, they are once again back to competing with each other for the honor of being the next Fleftic super-sub.

The Football Association of Vilita is based at the Tivali-Ring Stadium (87,000 Seating Capacity) in the capital city of Alikki-Corra, Vilita and many National Team training sessions take place on the grounds of the Tivali-Ring. The Tivali-Ring complex was constructed as part of the Vilitan bid to host the World Cup 14 Cup of Harmony as a replacement to the former National Stadium in Lopinka that was destroyed during a regional conflict. 'The Ring' has since hosted countless international matches including high profile matches such as the World Cup 31 Final and the 40th Series 'B' Champions Cup Final.

Despite being based at the Ring, The Football Association of Vilita regularly schedule matches at arenas throughout Vilita, especially bigger matches as many of the stadiums that host Stellar Division and UICA competition matches have expanded far beyond the 87,000 capacity of the National Stadium at Tivali-Ring, which is used only for the National Team, and, domestically for the Vilitan Cup Final and Tropical Trophy matchups. The Football Association typically releases a stadium schedule when applicable.

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

Vilita will often play in a traditionally Vilitan 3-1-4-2 formation with a style modifier of +3.14. Against weaker opposition they may instead play a 3-4-3.

Press Note: The Vilita National Team Official Roster Sheet was overhauled prior World Cup 82 to include both Caps, Goals & Clean Sheets for the Vilitan National Team as well as Caps, Goals & Clean Sheets accrued while playing for the Vilita & Turori unified team as a separate statistical category. For many players, only Caps, Goals and Clean Sheets earned since AOCAF 50 are included amongst the Vilita & Turori statistics. If a player's information is misrepresented or incomplete we are confident the error is only typographical. Please submit any corrections to the Vilitan National Sports Desk.

Sanamun appeared twice in World Cup 81 Qualifying for the Jungle Cats without conceding a goal earning the young netminder the gloves as Vilita competed in the 7th Cup of Champions competition, ultimately conceding their 1st international goal against in the fourth match of their career, the Cup of Champions semi-final against Banija. The impressive performances however earned Sanamun trust and a place on the team for the World Cup 81 finals. Trikala's first season in the Vilitan League wasn't especially impressive but the defender provided solid performances as Tropicorp finished impressively in 4th place in the Declasse table. These performances caught the eye of the scouts at Jungle Strike FC who snapped up the young defender as part of their rebuilding project after two consecutive finishes outside the top 5. Trikala got their first taste of triumph with Strike FC during Season 57 as Vilitan Cup Champions. Scored the winning goal for Vilita & Turori in the AOCAF 56 final against Mriin.

Turori National Team

Head Coach: Klaillal Tuirma
Descendant of Season 4 Turorian Player of the Season and National team legend Cuolia Tuirma, Klaillal often partnered on the pitch with Restiia Mumamba as an "All-Around" player for the Turori National Team. After being brought up through the academy system at Kionao, Tuirma signed a professional contract with Colonial Sile in Vilita for Season 35, winning silverware in the first match, the Tropical Trophy triumph over Strike. Tuirma's stay in Sile didn't last long, however, coaxed back to the luxury of Arcticala Inlet to help in their Champions-Cup qualifying campaign of Season 38. Tuirma returned to Turori during Season 44 as a member of Mliona-Lpaka AFC. Tuirma retired from international competition after winning the 67th Cup of Harmony with Turori. Playing in a unique role throughout their career - being expected to be able to play every game, in every position - even Goalkeeper, if there were no subs left - resulted in a deep understanding of each position on the pitch and the nuances that made each position different setting Tuirma up to be a well respected coach, ultimately getting the nod as the head coach of Turori's National Citizen Squad.

Tuirma has led Turori from out behind the shadow of the chains that held them back for generations, leading the team to their first ever Quarter Final victory, their first ever Semi-Final victory and first ever World Cup Final appearance during World Cup 82. Now, in Equestrian States and Banija, Tuirma has just one more accomplishment standing between them and a larger than life statue outside Eels Park in Eelandii: The World Cup Title.

Nickname: The Eels

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

Note 'Caps" are shown are currently on record for Turorian Players on from the start of World Cup 80 due to federation budget re-allocations during this time period to the Cocoabo Enrichment & Enhancement Project (CEEP)

An'maude was also named Vilitan Declasse Division goalkeeper of the Season for the Season 54. While An'maude was impressive in the Stellar Division, leading Cedniavella to a top-10 finish ahead of rivals Cednia Beach AFC, the Turorian netminder was coerced out of Cedniavella to take over goalkeeper duties at Lonngeylin Coast as the heir-apparent to the aging Cilamara Issah. Young prospect Disterfred pushed Inura Forests into the top half of the Season 38 Declasse, earning player of the season honors at the club and earning recognition as a serious propsect for the National Team. Disterfred was a member of the AOCAF 41 Championship Winning side, but did not start any of the 7 matches en-route to the title. When head coach Nycflala Kater took a back seat early in the competition during AOCAF 42, however, Disterfred had his chance to play as Vilita & Turori earned their second consecutive AOCAF title. However, Disterfred's domestic career took a negative turn when Inura Forests were relegated out of the Vilitan League, prompting a cross-country transfer to the Kionao Locals in the Declasse division. Despite the strong leadership of Lita Adjei and good performances in the UICA Competitions, Kionao was unable to get promoted and eventually Disterfred would move to Turoki Isle in order to get a chance to play in the Stellar Division. Having played his whole career in Vilita, Disterfred was eventually convinced to return home to Turori when the chance to play at Cednia Beach AFC was presented, Disterfred being named the replacement for retiring Vilitan netminder Jaqe Planst.

Turori: Cocoabo Squad

Due to the projected length of World Cup 84 Qualifying, the Football Association of Turori is likely to call upon Turori's National Cocoabo Squad to share the burden alongside the Citizen Squad. While the Cocoabo are expected to be used mostly against weaker opposition, it is expected due to their familiarity with the region that the Cocoabo Squad will contest the away match in Cosumar. Other higher profile matches may be added to the Cocoabo Schedule as the campaign advances.

The Starblaydia national football team factbook will tell you more about the team, their style, culture, fans, and history than I can ever write in a simple roster post. If you need more background information or just fancy browsing 15 RL years of roleplayed football history, that's a fairly decent place to look.

Five-time World, six-time Regional, two-time Under-21, one-time Under-18 and one-time Olympic Men's Football champions Starblaydia will line up for their 65th participation in the multiverse's oldest and most prestigious competition. Now a top-ten side once again, the sixth-ranked team in the KPBs are aiming to finally win that elusive and unprecedented sixth World Championship.

To achieve this, manager Ázëwyn Fëanáro has mixed her core team of tried and trusted individual with the best of the youth squads she has been bringing through since taking command of the entire national team setup. Players who were in the two Under-18 World Cup Finals - with one loss and one victory to their name - have been making steady progress of breaking into this team and it won't be long before almost all of this side have tasted glory in a Starblaydia shirt. The aim, however, is not just to win junior tournaments, but to win senior ones again, as Starblaydia aim for the pinnacle of the world and an unprecedented sixth World Cup championship. They're a side that almost any team in the competition will fear, but they're not mentioned in the bracket of favourites quite yet.

The full makeup of the team is as follows:

Staff
AF. Ázëwyn Fëanáro*, Manager, 4,065 - World Cup 44 & 47 Winner, World Cup Hall of Famer
270 Caps, 71 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 level)
Fëanáro scored the winner in the 47th Final against Valanora, denying them a title on their own turf and lifting Starblaydia to the mantle of all-time greatest team. Known for her excellent attacking play, range of passing and great eye for goal that lifts her to second in the all-time goalscorers list too, by virtue of a nearly 1-in-4 ratio, Ázëwyn Fëanáro is a symbol of grace, power and beauty from Starblaydia's golden age, some hundred and fifty years ago when the Cup was in its 40s. It is these qualities that the SFA managed to recapture with Fëanáro at the helm, bringing her trademark poise and piercing yell to the touchlines after more than a decade of national failures. She's taken her team to three consecutive World Cups and twice to the Second Round; can this be the time they break through this latest barrier?

JM. Jerzy Makuszewski, Assistant Manager, 75
83 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 level)
Known as "Chef" by those who can pronounce his surname correctly, Makuszewski took up the mantle of "Best in the World" Lucas Cable to become Starblaydia's unassailable number one between the posts and wear the captain's armband. Always a fiery character, he can shift from jovial to furious in moments, and is Fëanáro's 'enforcer', barking out orders and remonstrating with players and officials with equal fervour.

AC. Aaron Cole, Coach, 36
90 Caps, 54 Goals (7 Caps, 4 Goals at Under-21 level)
The first person to break into the Starblaydi all-time top ten goalscorers in literally generations, Cole had the dubious honour of being the man to finally knock Simeone Di Bradini off out of that same list. His excellent footballing brain, aggression levels, tactical nous and all-round Audioslavian/Brenecian level of shithousery made him a uniquely successful striker in a nation more used to smooth flying strikers and hulking target men. These are the qualities he will try to bring to the national team on a much grander scale.

Goalkeepers
1. Cosmo Leopoldi, GK, 28 - Colonial Sile (Vilita) Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
37 Caps, 0 Goals (12 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Making his way through Under-18, Under-21 and Under-23 goalkeeper, Cosmo looks like he has everything to succeed as Starblaydia's leading goalie, and a winners' medal at the Sporting World Cup was the perfect start to an international career full of promise and potential. Spotted by Vilitan scouts at a young age, Leopoldi's talent with his feet as a ball player as well as a goal stopper with his hands is what marks him out as a special talent who has barely begun to reach his peak goalkeeping years.

12. Amari Ollarion*, GK, 36 - Corinthian Spirits Image
42 Caps, 0 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Ollarion was the first female goalie to cement herself between the posts for the Starblaydi senior side in a very long time, and being a Liga Starblaydia winner with the Spirits is further proof of her quality. Ollarion has a good command of her area and is cool under pressure, though tends to punch more often than is strictly necessary. She's been ousted in the pecking order by the younger Leopoldi, but will be looking to claim back her place the moment he slips up, before it's too late.

19. Elliot Jakobsen, GK, 24 - Hallad Reavers Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
1 Cap, 0 Goals (12 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
TBA

Defenders
2. Maria Reyes*, R/CB, 30 - Chaolan Zaibatsu (Kita-Hinode) Image
55 Caps, 1 Goal (4 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Has spent her whole career in Kita-Hinode to this point and is included in this starting XI for her versatility and a dominant right foot, sitting on the right side of the back three, rather than at her usual full-back slot.

3. Henri Apollo, LB, 24 - Ionia United Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
10 Caps, 0 Goals (15 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
With three Under-18 World Cup-winning full-backs to choose from to provide a little cover down the side, Fëanáro has chosen Henri Apollo over the likes of Imane Al-Hashem and Ursula Namaan for this edition of the World Cup. Tall and lean, with a confidence on the ball that's hard to beat, he's not the modern type of full-back to continually scamper down the wing, but is more of a calm and steadying influence - one that should be perfect (if a little young) to be slotting into Sigismund's spot when required.

5. Falka Kaumolainen*, CB, 26 - Hallad Reavers Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
36 Caps, 0 Goals (11 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Positionally excellent, using her brain to be one step ahead of the play for a crucial interception, clearance or well-timed tackle, the platinum blonde ponytail of Kaumolainen is becoming quite the spectacle at the Reavers, now that she's been brought into the first team to bolster their defence. even at her young age. In the end, the Reavers lost out on a Globe Cup place by just three points, and made the Quarter-Finals of the Tiberius Cup. Kaumolainen was the better of Starblaydia's Under-18 central defenders and has thus earned her place in the squad.

6. Theodore Sigismund, L/CB, 32 - Sabrefell Athletic (Nephara) Image
63 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Playing for the two-time Globe Cup champions, Sabrefell Athletic of Nephara, Sigismund is big and strong but also positionally aware enough and has the athleticism to play as a full-back, which has historically served the team well.

13. Nadia Velltri*, CB, 23 - Widdrington Wolves Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
3 Caps, 0 Goals (13 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
TBA

14. Arnold Navarro, CB/DM, 31 - Jhanna City Image
30 Caps, 0 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
A versatile defender, equally at home being the first or last line of defence, Navarro's solid appearances for JCFC have placed him firmly in the picture for the national team. Able to easily fill in for any of the three centre-backs or two deep-lying midfielders, Navarro is expected to get a lot of playing time from the bench, rotated in against the lower-ranked teams to get crucial international minutes under his belt.

20. Imane Al-Hashem*, RB, 25 - Paricone Athletic FC Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
10 Caps, 0 Goals (14 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
TBA

Midfielders
4. Viola Capodanno*, Captain, L/DM, 32 - Northern Union (Brenecia) Image
95 Caps, 15 Goals (8 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
She's been the rock in the heart of the Starblaydi midfield for more than a decade, a box to box player who's exceptionally good at breaking up attacks, commanding the defence and beginning attacks afresh. Ázëwyn Fëanáro was the first to genuinely believe that Capodanno was an international-class player, and this current Starblaydi midfield has helped her become just the type of player that Fëanáro herself would have longed to play alongside. Now reaching the end of her peak years, this team's midfield talisman will likely break the Starblaydi record for appearances for a human player (108) as he tries to go one better than last time's Runner-Up result

7. Arkady Krakowski, LM/LW, 28 - Articala Inlet (Vilita) Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
58 Caps, 8 Goals (15 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
The wing wizard, a blur of bright orange boots and so often sprinting down the touchline or cutting inside to head for goal, the former Overdrive youngster was given the captain's armband for the Under-18s and it proved to be an excellent decision. With this, Ázëwyn Fëanáro got Krakowski to play the role of a key and skilled component among a greater whole, leading by example like all great Starblaydi captains. He has made the left side of the pitch his own as he continues to improve. A few more goals from this man will really help fill out the natural threat that his speed brings.

8. Calindra Apelles*, C/AM, 26 - Northern Union (Brenecia) Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
50 Caps, 14 Goals (12 Caps, 5 Goals at youth level)
She's a string-puller, the rhythm-setter and playmaker in the heart of midfield, but she's just as likely to ghost to the edge of the box and rifle the ball into the back of the net from distance. Though defending is not her strong suit, Apelles has an arsenal of clever plays at her command already and is sure to use them to confound defender and stadium cameraman alike. Jumped at the opportunity to join captain Capodanno at Brenecian side Northern Union, where they're really showing a midfield link for both club and country.

11. Kaori Yamaguchi*, R/CM, 27 - Foxchester Raiders Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
47 Caps, 7 Goals (12 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
Coming from one hell of a youth academy at Foxchester Raiders , this all-round midfielder plays confidently with her head up, always looking for the incisive pass or the quick dribble to gain ground and take defenders out of the game with dynamic passing and movement. As an Under-18 World Champion, she was crucial to keeping the centre of the park ticking along in Starblaydia's favour.

15. Glauco Vega, R/DM, 30 - Koshu Dragon Guard HS (Kita-Hinode) Image
9 Caps, 0 Goals (4 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
TBA

16. Lucy Saraviva*, R/LM, 23 - Foxchester Raiders Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
19 Caps, 6 Goals (14 Caps, 7 Goals at youth level)
This versatile young winger shot into the hearts and minds of Starblaydi fans when she netted four goals in a 9-4 win over Sajnur in the Second Round of the 8th Sporting World Cup, ending up as top scorer with seven for the side who finished second to Banija and only just failed to become the first team to defend the Under-18 World Cup. A natural alternate for either Krakowski or Yamaguchi, her introduction is bound to cause a stir on the pitch.

21. Jake Deangelo, C/LM, 24 - Internashionale Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
2 Caps, 0 Goals (15 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
TBA

22. Kristof Faiisa, AM, 22 - Iskara Daii Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
3 Caps, 1 Goal (12 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
TBA

Forwards
9. Alan Eccleston, SC, 28 - Tuncastle Rovers Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
40 Caps, 21 Goals (14 Caps, 3 Goals at youth level)
Some strikers don't need to score hatfuls of goals, because they cause so much disruption and create chances and open up opportunities for others to score, and Eccleston is one of those. Not through trickery or guile, but through sheer presence and physical bloody-mindedness, he draws players and often requires two markers, shrugging off weak challenges as he does. A smashmouth style means he commits fouls almost as often as he draws them, however.

10. Sutter McCloud, SC, 27 - Yeaddin Owls (Vilita) Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
62 Caps, 37 Goals (14 Caps, 18 Goals at youth level)
Sutter McCloud had already announced himself on the world stage with a hat-trick at the Olympics against Polynesia before scoring an incredible 12 goals in just seven games, at least once in every match, to become Under-18 World Champions, and now he's joined Zhorin Tumunzahar as the joint all-time top scorer for Starblaydi youth side with 18 goals in his career. McCloud is fast, strong and has a great left foot to strike from all distances and angles. The sky's the limit, fully entrenched as the golden boy of Starblaydi football as he rockets up the goalscoring charts with every tournament he plays in.

17. Hope Roshanak*, SC, 20 - Malta Lines Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
4 Caps, 2 Goals (10 Caps, 5 Goals at youth level)
TBA

18. Carmine Velasquez, SC, 23 - Corinthian Spirits Image - 7th Under-18 World Cup Winner
13 Caps, 2 Goals (13 Caps, 6 Goals at youth level)
Young and with great pace, Velasquez may well be named after a Vilitan legend but he's all Starblaydi. Although short and wiry he's got a low centre of gravity and the quick feet to skip away from almost any challenge, and is willing to shoot from almost any angle or distance. His conversion rate isn't all that good, but just when the fans are thinking that their striker should have a pop at goal, he's the one who'll be stepping up to odo it.

23. Marcus Jimenez, SC, 19 - Iskara Daii Image
Uncapped (3 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
TBA

ediraf once again innovated beyond all competitors with the Generation Five series of football kits, with this version first debuted at the 82nd World Cup Finals.

Generation Five-B blends a number of Starblaydia's iconic kits from across more than a quarter of a millennium, including the return of side panels and a number on the front, while mixing in new design elements such as the subtle stripes of the away kit. Both proudly sport the five gold stars - representing their record-setting five World Championships at senior level - above the Starblaydi Football Association logo. Starblaydi players will also all be wearing rainbow laces, as a symbol of diversity and inclusion.

Home Stadium
Image

The site of the 80th World Cup Final, all of Starblaydia's home matches will take place in the 196,754-seater Stadii Di Bradini, close to the popular tourist destination of Downtown Jhanna, Starblaydia's capital city. Boasting extensive transport links, hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and entertainment, the Downtown area is the perfect place for a nearly quarter of a million fans to disperse into every evening after a match. It also has a direct route to JAX, Starblaydia's main internal airport and a major air travel hub of Atlantian Oceania.

The stadium is named after Starblaydia's most legendary former player, Jhanna-born striker Simeone Di Bradini: the former World Cup Committee President, World Cup Hall of Famer, and four-time World Cup Winner (all with The Holy Empire as player/manager), for whom the Di Bradini Cup, the world's premier Under-21 tournament, is also named. It is a gargantuan stadium notable for environmentally friendly 'eco-stadium' features built-in since before ground was first broken on the site. Designed and constructed using as many recyclable materials and installed with technology that reduce its carbon footprint and lowers its energy needs, the exterior features a huge array of photovoltaic solar panels on the roof. It was the centrepiece of the 'Green Starblaydia' project many years ago and remains one of the world's iconic stadiums.

Uniform
One of four solid colors; blue, green, magenta, or yellow; "Ninetyfive X" written in black diagonally on the upper left of the shirt and upper left of the rear shorts. Number on the front of the shirt in black.

What happened
Sarah Foureleven reprogrammed 95X so that only female-bodied and 'neither-bodied' people inhabit it, and closely guarded. In an abandoned port city in the southwest corner of the main island that was already sealed off from the rest of the country, an abandoned stadium was rehabbed and is being used as the host stadium for home games. OOC, think of something like the RL Pontiac Silverdome, but a bit smaller, being put back into use instead of being demolished, that kind of thing. What Sarah Foureleven didn't account for is that some women have literally never seen a male-bodied person before playing their opponents.

Mrii National Team

For competition in the 84th World Cup
Right: An artist's rendition of Solara Vol, star Mrii striker (in her Sabrefell Moths duds).
Style: 4-4-2, +1.5
Home Field: Haven, Maal (65 000). Located in the scenic old city overlooking the warm Atlantian ocean.
Nickname: the Reavers

Note that most players are satyrs, as pictured, though with a variety of skins tones--mostly in various shades of blue, purple, and red. They're on average very tall, along the lines of human professional basketball players, and specialize in aerial play thanks to the elevated header control courtesy of their horns. Their stature also lends itself to a fast and aggressive attacking game, leveraging long strides, high stamina, and imposing presence to pressure and wear down the opposition. While there are certain Mrii who show a phenomenal amount of dexterity on the ball, they're generally the strikers; small, quick humans that can "get under" Mrii backs have been a problem spot for the team, though under Tailtiu Brennan's tutelage they've become much more adept at punishing mistakes with brutal counterattacks.

Positional Breakdown
Keepers
Mara is still at the height of her powers, putting up impressive numbers both with the Reavers and with Kingsgrove. With her impressive range and quick reactions she's a lock in the starting slot for the next few years. Kaara has moved up in the world, making that vaunted jump from the A-League to the Premiership and working to shake off that "just blocking the goal with her bulk" perception. It seems like she might never get a crack at starting minutes, but hell, even being the primary backup is a lot better than most slated for her. Bringing up the rear is Hadrii, tipped as the next big name but with a gulf of experience still to gain.

Backs
Brennan has done well molding the Reavers' defense into something resembling respectable, with the current mix possibly being the best set they've ever fielded. Reina has taken to the role of the stalwart veteran well, and while she doesn't break forward quite as much as in her youth she's still a threat to watch. Maas has gotten his act together in a number of ways the past few cycles and is now a competent shotcaller, even if he still sees red on occasion. Pia and Karii both provide quality, pacy coverage while being nasty on the break with excellent crosses.

Midfielders
Malia is a crucial pivot for the team whether on the offensive or the back hoof. On the (increasingly common) days off for Solara, the latter gladly lends the captain's band to her. The beef between Tia and Pia is long under the bridge and they're back to their partner-in-crime ways, often connecting to produce chances out of thin air. Popo was a seemingly quiet presence in his first cycle, but it was one of those deceptively valuable roles where his capacity to run anywhere at any time would tax defenses even if he never got a clean chance to make something of. Otalia's rise has been meteoric, jumping from a promoted side to a contender in the Hawks. She's completely cut past Olaana (who's still a quality player) and convinced Brennan to make the 4-4-2 the standard formation, rather than the alternate. An air of prime Joren comes with her playmaking ability with a level of athleticism to the now-assistant was never able to achieve.

Strikers
The Mrii bread and butter, and by far the most competitive position. It's been announced that Solara's usage will very gradually start to dip starting this cycle; she'll still be starting more often than not, but in the Reaver tradition of rigorously rotating the front line she'll be seeing the bench more often. Regardless, her ability to flip seamlessly between straining any defense to holding up play for ages to manufacturing opportunities is the hallmark of the Reavers, even as her pace fades. Tali’raia brings a unique brand subtle technical play that's a refreshing change of pace to the satyrs running defenders over; one of those blink-and-you'll-miss-it types. Lasser and Mako both fill the sort of quick, hard-hitting supersub role. Lasser excels in providing width to the attack, whereas Mako is much more direct--capable of crashing through an even mildly disoriented defense. Last, but certainly not least, is Portia. Her story as an unrecognized talent is long gone--she's proven herself at this level as an all-around talent. She's drawn a few comparisons as a 'budget Solara,' which were intended to be negative but she laughed off. To quote, "I'll take being 80% of a superhero any day."

Kits fabulously provided by Aer!

BRUSSELDORFEN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

Last night, Los Alrededores Manager Sir Craig Foster announced the 23-person squad that would be competing in the 84th NationStates World Cup.
Here's how the team lines up:

Image

Los Alrededores favours a 4-2-2-2 'magic boxes' formation. Wingers are encouraged to make attacking runs into the opposition half, and cross into the 18-yard box. This style of play puts large amounts of pressure on an opposition's back line and takes full advantage of any structural weaknesses.

The full 23 man squad for the World Cup is announced as follows:

No. Name Pos. Club
1 Antony Providence GK Image Casablanca City
2 Boronia RB Image Casablanca City

For 8 consecutive cycles, the Qasden Association Football Association (QAFA) has sent their greatest and only assortment of players talented enough to compete under the Blue and Red. For the first 7 of those cycles, the Vans would always come up short, be it by missing qualification or just simply losing 1st. However, the qualifiers of World Cup 83 had shed a new form of light on Qasden: rebranding them as the group giants for the first time in organization history. With an almost impeccable 8-4-0 (W-D-L) record, Qasden took the top spot in a rather shallow group, advancing without the need for playoffs unlike groupmate and obvious rookie team of the tournament: Recuecn. A performance akin to WC82's knockout run seemed imminent; but alas, it was not meant to be. Despite drawing both Banija and eventual runner-up, Starblaydia, a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to Taeshan sunk Qasden's time before they could even begin, finishing at the bottom of their group for a 3rd time.

All eyes were on Bjarnasson following the elimination, primarily in AOCAF, a tournament that Qasden couldn't seem to recreate their 4th place finish a few cycles ago. After a grueling 10 match group stage, the Vans were able to advance behind defending champs: Equestria. Heading into a match with the nefariously ruthless Farfadillis, Qasden's fate seemed sealed with rubber cement. But, to everyone's shock and awe, they prevailed in extra time, stunning a regional giant for the first time since (let's face it) Vilita and Turori back in 54. The win, while followed by a lackluster defeat to Ko-oren, reignited fans' interest in Bjarnasson's ability to lead a strong team, allowing him to keep his job for up until now.

With ~20 matches and only the top 2 getting tickets to the proper, the 84th World Cup qualifiers have and will prove themselves as quite possibly the most challenging set of qualifiers to date for Qasden. While a confident 2nd seed (Occupying the titan status with World Cup Final chokers: South Covello), the Vans must be willing to give all they have in order to fend off teams wanting to take their spot. Can they pull it off and earn a 5th appearance at the big dance? Or will Qasden's qualifying record go negative for the first time since, uh, before last cycle? Stay tuned, stay updated, and stay alert for the trip of a lifetime: World Cup 84, hosted by Cassadaigua and Baker Park!

The Roster
When RP'ing, the name of my players in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS AND BOLD are the player's family names. These are the names on their jersey and the name professional commentators would call out when making observations. Also, do not write the names in all capital letters, as this is somewhat annoying when reading; I just imagine someone reading calmly along then suddenly SHOUTING the player's name. For example, if writing about FENG Shaoli making a long shot, one would write "Feng made a long shot..." as opposed to "FENG made a long shot..." If you have any further questions regarding names, please feel free to telegram me.

Players age ONE YEAR in-between cups.

Starting players will have their names in GREEN type
Alternate players will have their names in BLUE type
Reserve Players will have their names in STANDARD type.
Travelling Players will be in tables.

1- Aki KIO’LOS
Height: 192cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 35 years old - Team: FC Mando
Having last been on the National Team as a Traveller – the term for young players who are seen as the future of the team and thus travel to the World Cup with the Bisons – Kio’los has made a name for himself back in Gyatso’kai. With his explosive energy and an unmatched focus, Kio’los is known for making saves most keepers would let slip through. Reminiscent of a younger Chu Takumi – who had 72 caps for the Bisons between World Cup 57 and 65 – Kio’los is hoping that, even at an age most players begin to think of retirement, he can still bring pride to his nation.

22- ZHAO Baoli
Height: 187cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 24 years old - Team: Enceri FC

Most often than not, a backup goalie is viewed as “damage control” for the starter; only called in when the starter has let in a few too many goals that shouldn’t have gone in, or is just not getting into the grove of the game quick enough for the coaches liking. With Zhao Baoli, that is not the case. Head Coach Tay’haai is not certain how either Kio’los or Zhao will do when facing their first multiverse opponents, and has opted for choosing two top caliber keepers to make his one-two combo.

What are the differences between Kio’los and Zhao? Despite their age – Zhao was only six years old the last time the Bisons played in the World Cup – there is hardly any difference between the two men. Similar style, similar background, even similar appearance; both your stereotypical Shoushan men who use their impressive physical forms to dominate in their chosen field. One key difference, however, lies in Zhao’s tendency to play medium-range passes incredibly accurately versus Kio’los’ short-range kicks; this accuracy at medium range helps to facilitate the progression of his team’s build-up into the next phase of play. Expect to see Zhao get more playing time as the Bisons face more defensive minded teams.

33- ARMOK Hikari
Height: 177cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 23 years old - Team: Southern AFC

Armok Hikari rounds out the Goalkeeper Corps, bringing a slightly different style to the Bisons. Fresh from his second season with Southern AFC, Armok has developed rather nicely when compared to his style back at his alma mater, University of Omashu.

Unlike Kio’los and Zhao, Armok tends to favor the long-range kicks out to midpitch so as to clear as much action from the back end as possible. Also, Armok is a much more traditional goalkeeper when compared to the very ball-heavy play styles of the first two men in the corps; he firmly believes that his primary goal is to stop balls from getting to the net, and by clearing out the attacking zone quickly, it gives him a chance to set the team up more defensively as he does tend to hand over possession often, but that allows him to focus on the main job of stopping balls and not worrying about diving out of the box and going for more ‘flashy’ plays.

PAO Lishin 21 Heibai University Earth
HAMADA Roshi 19 Royal Fire State University Fire
LEE Fendao 16 Academy of South Kibago Mandalore

As had been done under Vhett, Head Coach Tay’haai has instituted a Travelling Corps so as to bring young and upcoming players along with the Bisons to show them what Multiverse Play is all about. Pao and Hamada are both collegiate level players, who will likely be vying for a third spot in the Goalkeeper Corps as Kio’los is certainly not getting any younger. Lee is a much younger player, brought in from a developmental academy in KIbago Province, who is somewhat of a star in the Avatarian Soccer circle; having not let in a single goal in three seasons and representing his Academy at the national level.

Left Defenders:
2- Auranaq ITAWAKU
Height: 196cm - Weight: 82kg – Age: 35 years old - Team: Concord Dusk AFC
A beast of a man, Aruanq Itawaku has the distinction of being only one of two players on the Bisons who has ever travelled to a World Cup; both Aki Kio’los and Itawaku travelled with the Bisons back in World Cup 68.

In his time since that travelling appearance, Itawaku has managed to pack the form of a gridiron player into the body of a footballer; able to give strong tackles and bulldoze his way through an opponent, Itawaku is just as comfortable dancing around the pitch and keep the ball away from any keen and overzealous opponents. His aggressive style of play, combined with his sheer size, has earned him the loving nickname of “The Beast of the North”.

CAPS: 10 :: GOALS: N/A :: WC's PLAYED: None

12- PAM Kai
Height: 183cm - Weight: 86kg – Age: 20 years old - Team: Senlin Timbers

The backup to the Beast of the North, Pam Kai is a bit smaller and significantly younger. Though, that doesn’t stop the younger Water Tribesman from doing his best to keep up with Itawaku in the weight room and out on the pitch. Pam carries with him youthful vigor and determination, although he forewent another year at Northern University to pursue his professional career; which, judging by a rather subpar performance in Senlin, has many analysts feeling that he may have made the jump to the pros a bit to soon.

CAPS: 2 :: GOALS: N/A :: WC's PLAYED: None

16- TERCAR Shuajo
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 20 years old - Team: Northern University

At 20 years of age, Tercar Shuajo plays a very similar style to Auranaq, which means substitutions into the team can be done effortlessly. A very quick and agile defender, Tercar did not play any games during AOCAF, and will likely not see any action during the World Cup, though he is still prepared should the need arise. Given he is nearly 10kg lighter than both Pam and Itawaku, Tercar has to use his feet and agility to outmaneuver most other players instead of relying on sheer mass to take away a ball.

Central Defenders
5- HASHIMOTO Isamiru
Height: 178cm - Weight: 75kg – Age: 27 years old - Team: Ba Sing Se UNITED
One of the most highly-rated player for the Bison defence, Hashimoto Isamiru, or “Hashi” as he is loving called by fans, has shown himself to be a very valuable asset to the team. A strong defensive player who often falls in to a full-back position, Hashimoto has made great strides in improving his passing and marking skills since he was traded to Ba Sing Se UNITED from Keldabe FC after a very disappointing season which saw Kelabe not advance to the playoffs for the first time in five years.

15- UTHAN A’den
Height: 185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 19 years old - Team:Kyoshi State University

As was during the Bisons’ last World Cup run, Number 15 is worn by a man incredibly deceptive in appearance and performance. A large and physically imposing player, Uthan A’den does not play a very physical game like Aurnaq or Hashimoto, but instead proves himself to be one of the fastest players on the team; one who uses that speed to outpace and overtake many of his opponents. Less prove to tackle and trip, and more likely to simply run up from behind and steal the ball mid-dribble, expect to see Uthan engaging opponents closer to the net than you will be comfortable with from previous Bisons campaigns.
Rating: A- - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: A
CAPS: 10 :: GOALS: N/A :: WC's PLAYED: None

15- Ganham Ri’om
Height: 175cm - Weight: 70kg – Age: 23 years old - Team: Concord Dusk AFC
Though not as fast as Uthan, Ganham Ri’om is a full-back more focused on the offence, who uses his skill with the ball to often drive the offence from the backfield. Though Ganham can have some minor difficulties when tasked with defence (given that he played his entire career at Hatsu State as a offensive midfielder before switching to defence when drafted), he is a very edicated player and works hard to improve where he knows there are weakness.
Rating: B+ - Team Relationship: B - Morale: A - Form: B

Right Defenders:

3- SOMCHAI Kikwan
Height: 187cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: Itakawai City

While certainly not the oldest player in the defence, Somchai Kikwan does serve as the counterpoint to Uthan’s youthful excitement. Having graduated from Kyoshi State, Somchai is very familiar to the style of play Uthan is used to, and the two of them communicate very well on the side of the field. Very adept at playing the middle of the field, when pushed to the right side, Somchai is quick to adapt and has the endurance and stamina to keep up with the demands

13- MI’REZ Yman
Height: 177cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 33 years old - Team: Solus FC
A mixture of strength, speed and technicality, Mi’rez Yman is able to often outperform many oppoenets strictly through his quick feet and often amusing antics; known to make oppoenets laugh mid-stride, Mi’rez is not the player the media wants to mic up and have talk to the corwd. Though even with his quirks, Mi’rez is a very valuable players to the defensive corps.

23- HUANG Aodhán
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 22 years old - Team: Makapu ERUPT

Originally signed into the Taap-B team Kaolin FC right out of college, Huang Aodhán was quick to mature and found his way onto the Makapu ERUPT. A quick study, he adapted well to his new team and soon made it to their starting eleven. Huang is a natural athlete, with impressive speed and stamina to match, though at such a young age compared to his linemates, he has much to learn before he finds himself on the front lines of Avatarian Football.

Travelling With the Team

Position	Name Age School Nation |
RD KATO Zhao Ling 20 Enceri State University Mandalorian
RD YAMADA Goro 19 Republic City State University Fire
LD Khánh KA’LOMI 18 Univ. of the Southern Tribes Water
LD Tarou ADEEN 20 Omashu State University Mandalorian
CD ZHOU Hiroto 19 Kibago University Earth

The Travelling Corps for Defense is a mixed group of under-21s who are all potential future Bisons. Kato, from Enceri, is coming off a All-Star season in the Southern Islands Conference, having been credited with the most goals by any defenseman in season. Yamada and Ka’lomi are most first-time A-squad for their respective schools, and seem to play complementary styles, so it wouldn’t be unlikely to see them as a future starting pair. Adeen, though coming back from a lower body strain he acquired before his selection was announced, is the opposite of Ka’lomi; more defense driven and much more adept at wide pitch running and helping drive offense. Zhou, fresh from a rather disappointing season at KU, still managed to shine as he was selected in the Coaches Poll as the third best centreback in the ACSA having 32 Assists in 24 games

Defensive Midfielders:

7- TAKAHASHI Hikaru
Height: 178cm - Weight: 76kg – Age: 31 years old - Team: Northern AFC
A strong defensive midfielder. Takahashi Hikaru’s strength lies in his kicks; easily able to send a ball soaring across the pitch with surprising accuracy, Takahashi is known for feeding the ball to the strikers and catching many opposing defences off-guard. He often has great vision, and he is easily able to read the play and can adapt accordingly.
Rating: S – Team Relationship: S – Morale: A – Form: A
CAPS: 10 :: GOALS: 2 :: WC's PLAYED: None

6- MA Haijiang
Height: 187cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: Northern AFC

Head Coach Tay’haai made the unusual selection of having both of his defensive midfielders come from the same team, for reasons most can ascertain. A proven veteran on the pitch, Ma Haijiang complements Takahashi’s strong kicks and accuracy with the speed to overcome most opponents; if he can not strike a ball deep, Takahashi will often send a volley up to Ma who will then run it into the offensive zone before lasering the ball to an open forward. Expect to see either Ma or Takahashi in the assist column for plenty of goals.
Rating: A- – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: A
CAPS: 9 :: GOALS: N/A :: WC's PLAYED: None

17- YOSHIDA Arata
Height: 177cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 26 years old - Team: Royal Flames

Yoshida Arata is a dedicated player who has worked incredibly hard to make his way to the national team; having spent several months training with one of the greatest Avatarian midfielders to ever play the game, Bralor Kotyc’e. Time spent with Bralor has proven to greatly improve his game, seeing Yoshida climb up the ranks during the Trials for the national team.

Though, Yoshida is not a player you will often notice. He is not one for showboating, and very rarely makes a goal or garnishes an assist. Instead, he focuses his time on the pitch by setting up the offense for a great pass, a decisive tackle that often swings the game’s momentum, or just being able to intercept the ball at the most opportune time. One of the best midfielders in the Southern Conference of the RPFL, Yoshida is sure to see time on the pitch by relieving Takahashi or Ma in the later games of the competition.

Neutral Midfielders:

18- HISAKAWA Si Woo
Height: 183cm - Weight: 84kg – Age: 28 years old - Team: Omashu Athletic (Taap-A)
An extremely technical midfielder, Hisakawa Si Woo is not one to shy away from trying for goals. More aept at reading the play and setting up his forwards, Hisakawa is a bit more impatient than one would like, and he posseses the speed and agility to run through a good defence and find the back of the net on occasion. He is also the only player on the Bisons who does not play for a RPFL team, and instead leads midfielders in Goals Scored for the Taap-A team Omashu Athletic; though, after only scoring one goal and gaining three assists in AOCAF LIX, many are questioning what Hisakawa will be able to barter for once his contract with Omashu Atheltic is up at the end of this season, or if he will even be able to move up in the RPFL.
Rating: A- – Team Relationship: B – Morale: A – Form: A

Attacking Midfielders:

8- YU Shichiro
Height: 183cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 24 years old - Team: Keldabe FC

With a very offensive-minded footballing style, Yu Shichiro works as the last link between the midfield and the offence. Much like Hisakawa, Yu has been known to even advance from the midfield to score quite a few key goals in pivotal games, including the 2019.2 Ve’vut Cup winning goal against Concord Dusk AFC. He has a powerful long shot and is exceptional at heading, both of which are aided by his height. However, as skilled as he is in offense, Yu still prefers to pass the ball up to forwards for an assist in a goal as opposed to being the star player.
Rating: A- – Team Relationship: A – Morale: B – Form: A
CAPS: 10 :: GOALS: N/A :: WC's PLAYED: None

11- GUANYU Jun
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 21 years old - Team: **UNSIGNED**
A very creative midfielder, Guanyu Jun is very capable of making plays on the fly; with great vision and quick feet, he often can set up his forwards for a great goal or keep the ball moving through the middle. Though having graduated from Heibai University right after AOCAF, Guanyu, who managed to only appear in a single game during AOCAF, is still holding out for a MultiVerse contract. However, many analysts say that if Guanyu wants to sign outsie of Gyatso-kai, he is going to need to make a big show in whatever games he can get into.
Rating: B+ – Team Relationship: B – Morale: B – Form: A
CAPS: 1 :: GOALS: N/A :: WC's PLAYED: None

14 – Fei’kao SONG
Height: 185cm - Weight: 81kg – Age: 20 years old - Team: FC Mando
Relatively young when compared to his teammates, Fei’kao Song chose to forgo his collegiate career, getting drafted by FC Mando the day before his twentieth birthday. Despite all the fanfare of his first season behind him, Song has not had a promising start to his sophomore season. Given his still-developing skills in midfield, his is seen as a comparatively weak player and often spends more time with the coaching staff than other more-seasoned players. Song, much like Hisakawa, is a technical player by nature whose greatest asset is not in his aim or power, but in the art of dribbling which he uses at every opportunity. While more prone to provide assists on plays as opposed to goals, Song has proven himself through Trials to Tay’haai and earned a spot on the National Team, albeit a reserve position.

NM Penlu SAITO 19 Chomain State Academy Fire
OM SHAO Mi’ka 21 Univeristy of Kibago Water
OM DIK Up’lis 20 Omashu State University Earth

Mostly comprised of Water Tribesmen, the Midfield Travelling Corps is a grabbag of talent. From the University of the Northern Tribes come home-grown Inoue Anernerk, who at just like his father, the famed Inoue Kuruk, completed back-to-back double-digit scoring seasons in his last two seasons of college; impressive for a man who is supposed to be on the defensive midfield. From UST, Kal Itowa mirrors the success of Inoue, though a career less filled with goals and more with assists. Penlu Saito, a young player from the developmental Chomain State Academy, hopes to see a professional contract within the year, and with such a great season in the ADFL, you can be sure he will at least entertain some good offers. Out of the University of Kibago, Shao Mi’ka is a relatively quiet player who has had offers from both Gaoling Union and Senlin Timbers. Dik Up’lis rounds out the Travelling Corps, bringing from Omashu State a drive for excellence many teams would love to have, even if it comes with a bit more maturing to be fostered.

9 - Dag’da SKIRATA
Height: 185cm - Weight: 83kg – Age: 19 years old - Team: University of Adirolf
From the fabled and illustrious Skirata family, Dag’da Skirata continues to show why the Skirata’s are the most famous Avatarian family in sports; from his grandfather Kad coaching the Men’s National Ice Hockey Team to his father A’den’s 59 goals in 190 caps for the Bisons, Dag’da has some massive shoes to fill. Though his youthful energy often times shows itself in classic mistakes, Skirata is able to power his way through many the defender and be it by foot or by head, he finds the net more often than not. In his first season with the Adirolf Gators, A’den went for 19 goals in 10 caps, including the last game before AOCAF where he received his first hattrick in a stellar 4-0 victory of their rivals from Adirolf State. Much like Skirata, Song Kaoru comes from a sports-centric family; with his father a coach in the RPFL, his mother a third-line winger for the Ice Bisons and his younger brother the star goalkeeper for Itakawai City, fans and critics have come to expect nothing but greatness from Song. They have certainly not been disappointed in domestic play, with Song showing a near-effortless game on the pitch. Dodging defenders as if they were standing still, sniping balls past nets which might as well have been empty, Song has quickly become the media’s favorite player... especially with how he loves to be interviewed.

21- LI Yuuta
Height: 185cm - Weight: 85kg – Age: 25 years old - Team: Island FC

Older than both of the starting forwards, Li Yuuta also fins himself the oldest member of the Forward Corps. Playing the last two seasons in Island FC, Li has continued to develop as a well-rounded secondary striker; able to shield the ball from the other team and hold them off long enough for either of the Bisons’ primary stikers to get into position for a great shot. Li is very adept at striking himself, having led Island FC in Goals Scored last season.

19 - KIM Vinh Lành
Height: 185cm - Weight: 80kg – Age: 23 years old - Team: Island FC
A seasoned pivot man through five seasons at Island FC, Kim Vinh Lành is known for his ability to read the pitch and place himself ahead of a ball to bring in an attempt --- even if the pass is terrible --- through his excellent ball-handling skills. Albeit not the most conditioned player, with stamina that often finds him at the back of the pack during running exercises, Kim makes up for his endurance with incredibly fast bursts to the goal.

Head Coach: Kad’e TAY’HAAI
Height: 182cm – Weight: 76kg – Age 55 years old – Team: University of Adirolf, Head Coach

With 253 caps in Multiverse Play, and originally having been dubbed “The Next One” as a player, it only seemed right when Vhett Boba, the esteemed Head Coach of the Natonal Team since World Cup 57, stepped down that Kad’e Tay’haai would step into his boots. After such an illustrious career in football, Tay’haai found himself retiring from the sport in 2016.2 and moving on to become an assistant coach for the University of Adirolf for three cycles, before stepping into the role of Head Coach in 2018.3. While Adirolf has not quite enjoyed great success through the ACSA, it has begun to turn itself around; after boasting their first losing record in 32 years, the Adirolf Gators came out of 2019.2 with a 17-7-0 record and a second place finish in the National Championships.

One can only hope Tay’haai can work the same magic with the Bisons as they return to the MultiVerse stage...

Assistant Coach: WONG Haru
Height: 185cm – Weight: 88kg – Age 45 years old – Team: FC Itakawai, Assistant General Manager

Once a star defender for the Bisons, following his retirement from national and multiverse play, Wong Haru made a name for himself with a brief stint in coaching professionally; first as a Defensive Coach for Solus FC for two years and then FC She Pass for another four. However, when Wakahisa Hikaru – whose infamous knee injury in the championship game for the Republic Chalice brought the nation to tears and ended his professional career – called Wong to bring onboard FC Itakawai when they shifted ownership, it was a call he could not pass up. Being the head coach of one of the RPFL’s best teams for nearly 8 years truly honed his knowledge of the game as well as his abilities to analyze and coach players to greatness. Of course, it was an easy decision for Tay’haai to bring an old teammate on-board to be his assistant coach, who then filled out his coaching staff wth even more veterans of the Bisons...

Head Medical Officer: Doctor WEN Wuchin
Height: 180cm – Weight: 78kg – Age 86 years old
A medical doctor whose primary training was as a GAR Field Medic, Wen is the best choice possible in a world where doctors prefer to stay in privately-owned hospitals rather than rural rigshacks. Wen served for ten years in the GAR before he would honourably discharged to serve as Chief Resident at the prestigious Ba Sing Se Inner Ring Medical Centre, where he would remain for six years before being given a more suitable job as Chief of Medical Training at the Republic Military Academy; a position he has held for near 30 years.

Security Chief: Captain AKAAN (RC-4648)
Height: 183cm – Weight: 81kg – Age: 43 years old CHRONOLOGICAL (46 years old BIOLOGICAL)
A clone officer within the Grand Army of the Republic, RC-4868 was appointed Chief of Security for the National Team in 2011.1. Each time the team travels abroad --- so long as he is not engaged in a mission --- RC-4868 is pulled from service and placed into the spotlight of security. He is battle-hardened, having been raised since birth for war and combat, and as such often views these assignments with true boredom. The seven men he brings with him on assignment share the same sentiments of the ‘mission’, however, their ‘unwaivering loyalty’ to the Republic prevents any negative speak during the assignment. Each is a member of the Avatarian Guard, whose sole responsibility is to defend the Avatar at both home and abroad; this protection then extends to all sports teams travelling beyond the borders of the Five Nations.

President of the ALAF: HIS RIGHT HONOURABLE VHETTBoba
Age: 69 – Time in the job: 4 Years

Once the longest serving Head Coach in Avatarian History – with a record spanning 261 games, ten World Cups and multiple other multiverse competitions – it was only right for Vhett to step into the role of President of the Avatarian Leagues of Association Football. Having brought a team from nothing to the quarterfinals in 8 World Cups is not something to look away from, and although his career was tarnished slightly by the final performances of the Bisons – going 5-7-1 in his last World Cup – Vhett is confident that soon glory will be returned to the Avatarian Republics, especially as this is their first competition since joining the Atlantian Oceania Confederation.

Eastfield Lodge Roster for World Cup 84 Qualifying

Image

Demonym: Eastfielder

Eastfield Lodge is a pretty glorious nation, somewhat situated in Northern Rushmore - in reality, there's a very small island (acting as a transport hub) which hosts a portal linking the NSverse to a small bubble universe, wherein the rest of the Imperial Commonwealth is located (barring a couple of nations, but they’re linked up in other ways). The IC part describes the fact that there are several empires contained within one superstructure – divisions which are somewhat reflected in the convoluted league structure.

Those of you who know this nation well however will wonder what has happened to the Whoniverse (the universe of Doctor Who, the TV programme). Don’t worry, I will (hopefully) RP what went on. To those who don’t know, this nation used be in the NSverse, but due to the acts of a lone madman from The Holy Empire (mad, or pitiful, the legends are a bit shaky), Eastfield Lodge almost vanished from existence, leaving behind a small island (now in Rushmore), attached to a portal connecting here to the Whoniverse. Things happened, the portal became unstable, and we had to form a bubble universe, and as a result, the resulting temporal shockwave both wiped out all electronic records, and did some weird stuff to people’s ages (hence why some names in the team may seem recognisable).

Anyways, because of the initial portal, whilst humans are the overwhelming majority of the populace here, don't be surprised to find several other races and much advanced technology here. Some more historical information can be found here, in lieu of a factbook (NB: a lot of the information there is inaccurate though, TG me for clarification).

Back to the nation itself, Eastfield Lodge is probably the best place to live in the entirety of Rushmore, according to the WA at any rate. Amongst the accolades heaped upon are: Most Compassionate Citizens, Most Beautiful Environments, Happiest Citizens, Most Dedicated Public Healthcare, Healthiest Citizens, Least Corrupt Government, Longest Average Lifespan, Lowest Crime Rates, Nicest Citizens, Largest Public Transportation Department, Safest, Smartest Citizens, Most Popular Tourist Destinations, Best Weather and Largest Welfare Programs. Also of note is the fact that, in a region containing Saintland, Eastfield Lodge is the Most Devout nation, with Islam being the national religion, and that we have the Highest Police Ratios, so do not be alarmed by the sheer number of police officers.

Lodger City Memorial Stadium
Location: New Lodger City
Capacity: 150,000
Description: The home of Eastfielder football, the stadium was built on the ruins of the old capital of Eastfield Lodge, Lodger City, which was flattened in a double disaster (severe floods from dams bursting and an explosion from an unknown source, killing much of the population of the city and rendering the city useless. Administrative functions were transferred over to Lodgertia, the city began to be rebuilt, and it was decided that this stadium would be one of the monuments erected in place. The inside walls contains inscriptions of the names of all the dead – just under 9 million. The stadium used to play host to the two classic giants of EL football – RGS Athletic and VLC FC - until both had their new stadiums finished; it is now only used for internationals and cup matches.

Parliament Stadium
Location: Lodgertia
Capacity: 80,000
Description: Formerly the second largest stadium in Eastfield Lodge (until King Iqbal II and Vorgan Park were completed), behind the Memorial Stadium in New Lodger City, it was built in the centre of Lodgertia, the capital of Eastfield Lodge, and the Imperial Commonwealth. It was named due to the fact that the Parliament is based just a few hundred metres down the road; in fact, the original stadium was actually joined to the Parliament building, as an area where MPs could watch or even engage in sport with the public, as well as being a designated protest site. However, with Lodgertia becoming more built up, it was decided that the stadium needed to be built up as well. It is home to Lodgertia United and Lodgertia City alongside being temporary hosts of RGS Athletic and VLC FC (when Lodger City was being rebuilt), and in the past has hosted several international matches, including the final of SBCC 27 and a group in both stages of Market Cup 4.

Manager: Jane Williamson
Age: 50. The first female player to play for the Eastfielder national team back in the day, the former RGS full back became the first big Eastfielder coach in another country, as she went and became the assistant manager for the Chromatika national team, and quite successfully, up until that nation's disappearance from the world. And quite fortunately, she landed in this role after the retirement of her predecessor, although things haven't started auspiciously for her so far, opting not to ring any big changes to the team's system for her first few cycles. Very much a man manager as opposed to an astute tactician.

Assistant Manager: Robert Andrews
Age: 50. The former national team striker, who had over a century of international appearances to his name during his career, was specifically recruited by the previous manager, his old friend and ex-teammate Shabeen Ahmad III. This is his first major job in football since his playing retirement, but his ability to calmly analyse situations even under immense pressure has earned him some plaudits from those in the know, and as such could prove to be a vital asset to the national team going forward.

Formation: 3-3-3-1
Image

It's a new look defensive formation for Eastfield Lodge now, with the team moving to three at the back, but still retaining the rotating attack system - striker and three players in behind moving about to find space. Malenna von Kraus, when she plays, also has her role changed, moving into the back three with permission to advance forwards on attack, allowing the formation to switch from a 3-3-3-1 to a more balanced 4-2-3-1 or even 4-1-4-1 in attacks, whilst the wingbacks retain the same attacking freedom they had under the previous 4-1-2-3 system. In terms of goal scoring, the ST will get the bulk of the goals, with good contributions from the AM and both WFs as well. The WFs will get most of the assists, followed closely by the AMs, then the ST, DM and the wingbacks.

Captain: Tajo Carr-Ponce

Give out yellow cards to my players: Y (maximum five, TG me with a reason for more)
Give out red cards to my players: Y (only one more than the number given to your team, maximum of three - i.e. I get two red cards, you must have at least one)
RP injuries to my players: Y (Maximum 3, no career-ending injuries without my explicit permission – I reserve right to how long players are out; you can RP how severe it looks)

Godmod scoring events: Y (Have fun.)
Godmod other events: Y (TG me if you're planning on killing anybody though, or anything really extreme.)

If I do RP, I will include the line-up for the next match in my RP post, along with any suspensions/injuries. If there is no line-up, look through my posts and check for current suspensions/injuries, but otherwise it’s fine. Also, if you're RP'ing any part of my match, please use the full name Eastfield Lodge at least once, it helps me find the RP.

NB: As the people of EL are extremely compassionate, and very civilised (despite what you may say about the religion), it would be uncharacteristic for the coaches/players to lose their temper, dive deliberately (jumping out of the way of bad tackles and falling awkwardly doesn't count), to be sent to the stands (if the ref is clearly very biased however...), spit, argue with the ref or fight. Players will also tend to inform the referee about mistakes/clarifications in judgement regarding throw-ins, fouls given but with no contact and goal kicks/corner kicks (plus other bouts of honesty - up to you).

Fujai (fu:'jaɪ, foo-yEYE) is a small island nation of just over 6 million residents, located north of the Polarii continent in The West Pacific. While it has a long history of domestic football, it never has been a substantial player on the international scale. The recent Independents' Cup 8 was Fujai's first international football competition, where the Landslag made it to the Round of 16 before being knocked by Drawkland out in a high pitched match ending 5-4 AET. In the short time since then, the team has made it to the Round of 16 at the Baptism of Fire 71, and took a brief rest to practice and...enter politics?

The Landslag is made up of the finest players in Fujai, though few would be considered of truly international quality. It is sponsored by the Fotbollseksjon of Fujansk Idrottsforbund (Fujansk Sports Union) through the Kulturministerjon (Ministry of Culture). Most Landslag players come from Fujai's top league, Fyrstserien, though a few come from the second division, Annarserien, and one comes from a university team. While Fujansk clubs are more equal in skill than the average league, the four most dominant teams are to be Solbakken IL and Bruland IF from the capital of Keiserholde, Trondsnes FF from Strafsund, and Almoren IL from Almoren in the north.

Editor's note on gender: Fujansk culture historically recognizes 4 main genders, though in the last century, gender has been used as a continuum without specific categories (though there are some categories of expression). Since the Fujansk language does not have gendered pronouns, most Fujar choose a set of pronouns to use in the common tongue. The proper pronouns of Landslag players can be found in the team roster.

Translator's note: Landslaget translates to "The National Team," while Landslag translates to "National Team." In the common tongue, one would say "the Landslag did well" or "Landslaget did well," not "the Landslaget did well." This is because the Fujansk language uses suffixes to create definite nouns instead of articles. See Den Fujanske Ordboken (The Fujansk Dictionary) for more information.

The Euran Football Association’s World Cup 84 Qualifying Squad

Manager: Michael Brandon (53, Nephara)

The unceremonious sacking of Daniel Belgrave as Eura manager following an unexpected and unfortunate exit from the 82nd World Cup group stages caused one of the biggest controversies in recent Euran footballing history. Eura hadn't lost a single game until the final match of the group stage (a surreal 3-0 defeat to Sargossa built on a first half collapse), but in an unlikely turn of fate, three teams finished on six points, and the side went out on goal difference. As Eura's dry spell without trophies extended another year, the EFA had clearly felt they had given more than enough time to Belgrave's project. Many saw this decision as harsh on Belgrave, still regarded by most as something of a national hero given his role in winning the 66th World Cup as a player and winning over two hundred caps. They called it a fluke exit.

However, the writing had been on the wall for longer. Eura had finished qualifying unbeaten but drew an unprecedented seven games. The defeat against Sargossa that directly triggered Belgrave's dismissal was the latest in a string of bizarre Euran collapses to bow out of tournaments that could have been won, adding the Corsairs to a list of at-the-time underdogs including Savojarna, Free Republics and South Covello. There are also ramifications for many players in the squad; indeed, following Belgrave's exit, all four of John Leach, Dominic Miller, Alex Wyatt and even Josh Holmes called time on their international careers.

A dilemma had been created for the EFA on how to proceed. Assistant Mike Humphrey had also been dismissed leaving a need to recruit an entirely new management team. Brief rumours of legend Steve Thompson riding to the rescue from retirement were quashed immediately. Rumours of a dramatic swoop for wildcard Skorji Oslograd were also laughed off. Talk of Lee Sharp (Eura's greatest ever player, former Audioslavia manager and now 1830 Cathair boss), Tom Benedict (Sabrefell Athletic coach and long rumoured target of the EFA) or Walter Crasder (Ulsa) also came to nothing. In the end the appointment made after months of what the selection committee called "challenging reflection" was a choice that could be seen as either surprising or completely natural depending on whether you see the appointment as a nostalgia trip or a return to Euran football's core identity.

Michael Brandon, a stalwart of Directus as a player, one of Nephara's first great players and an iconic manager of the Nepharim side itself, was handed a three year contract. Tom Riley, Euran World Cup winning captain and Brandon's former teammate, was appointed as assistant. It came as a shock in Brandon's own country, where it was widely anticipated that he may take the Brinemouth job in the near future. Instead Brandon has clearly sensed an opportunity to take on one last chance to win the big prize, and to return the favour to the country that made his name. He has been given the freedom to make radical, or even ruthless changes to the Euran side in an attempt to take them away from Belgrave's cautious game to a more stereotypical Euran attacking identity. After a strong start to his reign at the 32nd Copa Rushmori, disaster struck during an abysmal qualifying campaign for the 83rd World Cup. However Eura won just enough points to make the qualifying playoffs, and went on to record a decent winning run into the finals that predictably ended in the quarters against Equestria. They followed this up with reaching the semi-finals of the 23rd Copa Rushmori, exiting to Sargossa on penalties and losing the third place play off to a returning Schottia.

Assistant Manager: Tom Riley (58, Eura)

Riley was Eura's captain when they won the 66th World Cup and, like Brandon, has a reputation as a hard working, organised leadership figure who played as a short passing central midfielder. Brandon will not be an unfamiliar figure to anyone in the dressing room but Riley may add a degree of intimate familiarity with the way things work. He will be vital to bringing back the work ethic and team spirit that drove previous title winning Euran sides. The two men have been inseparable as a management team and it is expected that, like Belgrave and Humphrey, they will be treated as mutually accountable for better or worse. Brandon has also brought many of his coaches with him from the Nepharim set up that left following his departure there.

30 man squad

Shirt number – name – position – age – caps – goals – club
Caps and goals not included currently as stats are out of date by one cycle

Goalkeepers

1 - Kevin Belgrave - GK - 29 - Directus
13 – Robert Griffin – GK – 33 – Sabrefell Moths (Nephara)
30 – Ryan Bull - GK - 30 - Brinemouth (Nephara)

Kevin Belgrave appears to have solidified his starting spot over Robert Griffin. Ryan Bull remains a trustworthy spare.

Defenders

2 – Scott Coles - RB - 32 - Ulsa
3 – Stanley Burns – LB – 23 – Holdenberg
4 – Charles Roberts - CB - 27 - Bastion
5 – Dean Steele – CB – 24 – FC Endeavour (Apox)
15 – Harvey Blake - CB - 29 - Spartangrad
19 – Samuel Hopkins - CB - 28 - Eastweald (Cosumar)
21 – Jon Haines - RB - 29 - Sabrefell Moths (Nephara)
23 – Ben Hall - LB - 29 - Oakstone
25 – Jarrod Jenkins - CB - 23 - Falourr
27 – Alex Ingram - LB - 21 - Spartangrad

A notable gamble at the back as Dean Steele comes into the starting line up ahead of Harvey Blake, who's spot has been wobbling for a couple of years.

Midfielders

6 – Monica Rowland (F) - CM - 27 - Bastion
7 – Oscar Coltrane - AM - 33 - Sabrefell Athletic (Nephara)
8 – Liam Armstrong - CM - 30 - Starling (Nephara)
11 - Anthony Townsend - RM - 29 - Ma Alameome (Farfadillis)
12 - Rhys Griffiths - AM - 27 - Revolutionaries
16 – Damion Bowman – LW – 23 – Hornchurch
18 – Harry Gravesen - CM - 30 - Spartangrad
20 – Moira Woakes (F) – AM – 24 – Crisisbless (Nephara)
22 – Harry Humphreys – CM – 27 – Raynor City United (Valanora)
24 - Frank Bevan - CM - 27 - Holdenberg
28 – Vincent Robshaw - CM - 24 - Unioneers
29 – Freddie Wright – RW – 26 – Brigham

Midfield is where the real change has occurred ahead of this campaign. John Talbot called time on his international career post-Copa, after Brandon decided to end the box-to-box conversion experiment. Just as crucially, Oscar Coltrane has been dropped to the bench with Moira Woakes now a starter. Liam Armstrong clings on to his starting spot but it is though Frank Bevan is very close to succeeding him. Harry Gravesen returns to the squad, narrowly pipping Chris Ashton.

Forwards

9 – Brian Bond - LW/ST - 27 – Eastweald (Cosumar)
10 – Dion Underwood - ST - 33 - Bastion
14 – John Fletcher – CF – 28 – AFC Treason (Nephara)
17 – Morgan Fox - CF - 29 – Olask Islanders (Cosumar)
26 – Tommy Sutton - ST - 22 - Falourr

John Fletcher has enjoyed something of a promotion to the chief deputy striker, a backup to Bond, Eura's key player. Dion Underwood still lurks in the squad in what will almost certainly be his last campaign. Dean Sharp is out, probably for good, moving Morgan Fox up the order for at least this campaign. There is an unexpected call up for Tommy Sutton, the young Falourr striker.

Preferred starting lineup

Note; does not take into account suspensions, injuries or any other change. At the end of each RP I post, I will try to give a team for the next match and formation type. If no such lineup is posted, assume that there have been no changes and use the lineup below.

GK - 1. K Belgrave
RWB - 2. S Coles
RCB - 4. C Roberts
LCB - 5. D Steele
LWB - 3. S Burns
RCM - 6. M Rowland
LCM - 8. L Armstrong
RAM - 11. A Townsend
CAM - 20. M Woakes
LAM - 12. R Griffiths
ST - 9. B Bond

Eura may sometimes play 4-2-2-2 with Coltrane shifted to the left and Wyatt benched for another striker, or a 4-3-3.

Subs

13. R Griffin
21. J Haines
15. H Blake
23. B Hall
24. F Bevan
18. H Gravesen
7. O Coltrane
17. M Fox
10. D Underwood
14. J Fletcher

Player Roles

Squad Captain: Scott Coles
Vice Captain: Monica Rowland
Direct free kicks: Anthony Townsend (Right footed)
Indirect free kicks: Liam Armstrong (Right footed)
Right corner: Liam Armstrong (Right footed)
Left corner: Liam Armstrong (Right footed)
Penalties: 1. Brian Bond 2. Liam Armstrong 3. Anthony Townsend 4. Moira Woakes 5. Scott Coles

Stadium

Eura play their international home games at the Bastion Arena, the 110,000 capacity all-seater stadium at the heart of Eura's capital.

Lisander National Football Team for Wonder Cup - The National Eleven

Ok, there we go again ...
Leading Article, Carolina Hanwill, to The National
Adrian Stannis, new president of FLF, have the ambition to guide Lisander Football to a new age of glory. But he made it to the top of the Federation at a difficult time. Association Football, which has always been a fairly prominent sport, has lost many fans to basketball and worryingly to rugby as well. In the past, each sport had its own faithful fan base, but the advent of international competitions and the new professional leagues made football lose ground. "While it is harder and more expensive to establish sports like Cricket, Rugby and Field Hockey, at a high cost, on the other hand, the smaller number of nations playing these sports makes it easier for national teams in these sports." Stannis said recently in an interview for BFOOTBALL.

Football, an international passion, is played under virtually any conditions, and there are always more than 150 nations registering for each World Cup. Not participating in the event is practically isolating the nation from the footballing world. Under the baton of Alfred Delmas, the former FLF president, Lisander has taken many steps backwards. Although Lisander made excellent campaigns in the WCs 80 (when the team reached the Play-offs against South Covello) and 82 (when the team was only one win away from the Play-offs), the disorganization of the federation managed to destroy all this effort, and the National now sits in a shameful 130th place in the rankings. So the only choice is taking the oars and rowing everything back in the rankings, first to the 59th place we had at the end of WC80, and then as much as possible forward.

"What about the team?" you ask me. I answer: It's the same as IAC 8 and Wonder Cup. Andreas Fox haven't called the youngsters to Wonder Cup, and isn't calling them to World Cup. He wants to give the veterans time to play. It could be the last chance for some of them, like Luis Avila and Arthur Adler. "It's time to think football in the right age. If the new policy is keeping the youngsters in their own categories, we're going over 23 this time."

Uniform
Neo hasn't produced new uniforms for Lisander. The Nation keeps the WC82 uniform. A new set of uniforms was expected for WC84.
