The Ravien was formally adopted in 1857, at the same time as the government change from a monarchy to a republic but the Kronne still continued to be printed until 1988. Kronne printed from 1976 to 1988 can still be used for transactions up to the present day.

There is a rare commemorative 1000 ANR banknote issued in 1957 for the 100 Year Anniversary of Auruna. It returned at the 150 Year Anniversary of Auruna in 2007 alongside the new commemorative 1500 ANR banknote. Both banknotes were only printed for a maximum of 12 months in limited numbers.

The Sempornese Kina was adopted in 1969, when East Semporna gained independence from the Shikonjimanese Shogunate (West Semporna already gained independence from the Incoporated States of Chaamerland in 1963). In the beginning, the Kina was intended to be pegged to the former colonial currencies, due to the relative stability of the CMF and the SJR, but it soon turned out, that Semporna was unable to back its new currency with the appropriate economic output. The abolition of the currency peg led to a correction of the Kina's value first, but the economic crisis in the 1970s also brought a heavy inflation. In 1980, the Toea subunits remained a pure unit of account, with the 50 Toea coin remaining the only denomination of the Kina staying in circulation. Various measures by the Sempornese National Bank led to a relative stabilization of the Kina, but so far, the value of the currency unit remains small, and various foreign currencies are in circulation throughout Semporna. It is up to see, whether ot not Democratic Semporna might have a currency reform in the foreseeable future.
