No, I saw some British ones on the BBC this morning. Maybe they do the same in America.

On this, it absolutely is.

Danny Ward was sold by Liverpool to Leicester for a reported 12.5 million. Wrexham had a 10% sell on fee so are due 1.25 million from Liverpool. Huge amount of cash for Wrexham and probably our entire budget. We still haven't been paid by Liverpool who are paying in instalments. However we've had to report those earnings for the full 1.25 mill in the 2018 tax year and have thus had to pay tax on it despite not receiving the full amount. I've no idea why it is done like this but it is no wonder that cash just remains at the top.

In other news Wrexham advance in probably the strangest cup competition I've ever heard of... the Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Cup. Hoping we get an Irish opponent next.

The t in Qatar is a bit too long, but the typography is not bad after correcting the extended t.

Other than that, it sort of reminds me of porcelain. I know Harrods is one place to find porcelain art, but mass produced porcelain items for home and garden is something that I am not an expert in.

Surprisingly few dead slave workers in the logo. They should look at that.

I have not forgotten Qatar’s shameful safety record: if I recall correctly, it is called the Kafala system, and it’s something the Middle East countries need to actually ban rather than make empty promises.

Nutty goal by Sir Harry of Kane though, I was kind of half watching the game and chatting with friends and left the bar under the impression Spurs won 2-1, only to read they'd lost later.

Cambridge are dangerously close to 10th so I think a good run of losses is due just to make sure they avoid breaking that barrier.

I had thought that the new stadium would provide a morale boost for Spurs, but so far the outcome is mixed. However, things will be clearer after about 19 matches.

Messi footballer of the year? :eyebrow:

Sure, the Spanish competitions, but beyond that Messi was a snoozefest.

I would have understood Ronaldo, at least he won the Nations League with Portugal.

There is a simpler explanation in my opinion: the risk of human error increases when many spectators are counting on whoever operates the Hawk Eye to get the decision out as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, the long-standing problems with racism in the sport continues: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50114848 and https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50048932

I think more people are stepping up and saying that such behaviour is not acceptable, but there are some countries where racism in football is so bad. I have to report that a few days ago, on 14 October, the Euro 2020 qualifier between England and Bulgaria was halted twice due to racist behaviour from the fans. Shortly after, the boss of the Bulgarian Football Union quit under the pressure of Bulgaria Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

Atlanta United has advanced to the conference semifinals in the MLS cup. I’m hoping they win against the winner of the Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bull’s game. Though we should win against them we're the better team plus we have the home field advantage and we’re the defending champions

Following Bury FC’s expulsion, non-league Chichester City got a free pass to the second round to the FA Cup (and £36,000). Meanwhile, the tie between Haringey Borough and Yeovil Town will be replaced on 29 October, and many involved in football hope that there will be no repeat of the incidents that brought down the first attempt.

Shame.

Racism and Italian football go hand-in-hand. I'm disgusted at the fact no concrete action is taken to crack down on racism (playing matches without fans, fines, suspensions, or even withholding points due to racist abuse that the club refuses to curb).

Northern Italy are inhabited by the descendants of Nordic invaders known as the Lombards. They've always had a negative view toward Southern Italians due to the latter being tanned Mediterranean ethnics, so naturally a darker-skinned man like Mario would get mercilessly shat upon. Maradona himself pointed this out when he was in Napoli.

UEFA Euro 2020 draw results are officially in

Group A (Rome/Baku): Turkey, Italy, Wales, Switzerland
Group B (Copenhagen/St Petersburg): Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Russia
Group C (Amsterdam/Bucharest): Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria, GEO/MKD/KOS/BEL*
Group D (London/Glasgow): England, Croatia, SCO/NOR/SRB/ISR, Czech Republic
Group E (Bilbao/Dublin): Spain, Sweden, Poland, BIH/SVK/IRL/NIR
Group F (Munich/Budapest): ISL/BUL/HUN/ROU*, Portugal, France, Germany

*If Romania win playoff Path A, they will be switched with the playoff Path D winners to ensure they play two matches at home.
So how did I guess the World Cup and Euro titleholders would be drawn together in the same group? :p

Budapest will be graced with a rematch of the Euro 2016 final, while England open their Euro with a rematch of that World Cup semifinal. But the biggest losers of the draw have to be Switzerland, getting that dreaded Baku-Rome-Baku tour.

Worryingly, given game 14 in the Premier League.. Leicester are 2nd, where were they in Game 14, 2015, before they went on to win in 2016 and we suffered Bowie's death, Brexit and Donald Trump.

Same.

Mourinho getting wins over the line at the moment, but there's something fundamentally wrong with this Spurs side in terms of either mentality or physical conditioning because they seem really fragile at the end of games.

Season of mediocrity ahead.
