Tea discussion

Postby Israeli Free Nations » Wed Nov 20, 2019 11:33 am

I saw the coffee discussion, and I thought I'd give this a go for the more.....ahem.......formal of us out there.
Personally I get my tea from a shop in Ireland.
Every year either I go or my grandda ships me a box of Irish tea bags.
I also have a fondness for mint tea.
I don't usually put milk in (unless I'm in a bad mood) and I put 3-5 spoons of sugar in.

I generally prefer coffee or hot chocolate, but I'll drink Lipton and sweet tea.

Ehh...I dont like Indian teas. It has a spice to it I don't like. The Belfast tea I get is perfect, not too bitter and has a smooth aroma to it.

Cold water is the superior beverage.
Most of the time I have no idea what the hell I'm doing or talking about.

”Many forms of government have been tried and will be tried in this world of sin and woe.
No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is
the worst form of government, except for all the others that have been tried from time to time." -
Winston Churchill, 1947.

"Rifles, muskets, long-bows and hand-grenades are inherently democratic weapons. A complex weapon makes the strong stronger, while a simple weapon – so long as there is no answer to it – gives claws to the weak.” - George Orwell

Tea is...fine. I generally drink homemade Kava or Kratom tea when I'm particularly stressed out, and the effects of those are incredible.

I drink mint tea after about 3pm, so I can keep drinking something hot without the caffeine keeping me up all night.

I prefer green tea. Dragon well, long Xing, jasmine.
But I'll drink snowbud, lapsang souchong, earl grey, ceylon, herbals.
And mint infusions or ginger infusions.
Gunpowder tea with mint and a lot of sugar because that is the way to drink marrocan mint tea.
My other teas I drink without any sweetener or milk. Unless my throat is sore, then I'll drink ceylon tea with honey.

Jasmine tea is quite fine. Great for sipping while reading.

I've been drinking Moroccan mint without sugar. Is that not the way it is generally prepared in it's native land?

To add onto my previous posts, I am in love with various chai teas. Recently I have been making my own cardamom chai tea an bringing it to work, which is excellent.
