And there's the catch; they aren't colonies anymore, they will be part of something much greater with a very weird flag.

Name of faction: The National Coalition
Leaders: Martin Adamcek, Viliam Siroky, Antonin Zapotocky
Influence (number of members and power): Limited to about 100 people in the Communist Party, but it will spread to other parties with time. It's pretty powerful, considering that the leaders have high-level positions.
Base of operations: Mostly concentrated in Party bureaucrats and leadership, with unofficial headquarters in Prague.
Goals:
-Convince President Gottwald to reverse his hard-line Stalinist policies, especially regarding anti-semitism and anti-Titoism
-Prevent a purge within Party ranks
-Get Adamcek appointed Economic Minsiter
-Get Siroky appointed First Secretary of the Party
-Extend Party membership
-"Czechoslovak Communism", with Five-Year Plans being made specifically to Czechoslovakia's economy independently of other Eastern Bloc nations. This includes more agriculture subsidies, investments in consumer goods, and improving existing production
-Rearm its military, to work cooperatively with other socialist nations
-Support socialist parties in nearby nations, including West Germany, Austria, Italy, and France
-Advocate that the USSR give back the Subcarpathian Rus.
-Advocate that Czechoslovakia should co-administer the occupied regions of Austria, to prevent the whole country from uniting under anti-communist rule
History: Siroky and Zapotocky were staunch supporters of the 1948 coup, while Adamcek was sympathetic but not outspoken. They held a vision of a socialist Czechoslovakia, where it led Europe economically and politically, helping to guide other nations into socialism. Gottwald's appointment as First Secretary and President seemed to confirm this. However, a meeting with Stalin quickly changed Gottwald's mind, and he fled to the informal group of Stalinists that had begun to dominate the party. With threats of an antisemitic and "Titoist" purges in the country, these three quickly met and hammered out an agreement, hoping to convince Gottwald to reverse his Stalinist policies and continue towards the idea of "Czechoslovak Communism".

Rhyssua wrote:And the National Coalition is in power. Expect a lot of political intrigue and power-sharing among the Coalition members (Zapotocky, Adamcek, Siroky), and tensions with Gottwald's camp of Stalinists.
Also USSR, I'm going to send a letter requesting a meeting soon regarding Austria, Yugoslavia, the Carpathian Rus, and maybe the Warsaw Pact

Country Name: Polish People's Republic
Head of State/Government: Bolesław Bierut
Type of Government: Communism
Capital: Warsaw
Map/location (an actual map or description is fine here) West of USSR, Belarus, the Baltics, and Ukraine, East of Germany.
Population: 24,824,013
Faction: Warsaw Pact
History: After their defeat in WW2, the Jewish population was purged mainly. Following the war, the Soviet Union scooped up all of Eastern Europe, and established control over the area. Poland, now basically operating independently, but with the Soviet Union looming over them, Poland is basically a puppet state.

Why is Zaleski the head, as opposed to Bolesław Bierut?
