After an injury laden season Reynea headed to playoff much lower rated then a semi-finalist at the HCL would have hoped for, but the return of Olympic bronze medalists Emmit Williamson brought the Monsoons into a tough matchup with high flying Los Riosa. It was an impressive win from the Monsoons, who look to use this to continue their streak of 8 consecutive international qualifications to 9 for one of the best club sides in the world. Elsewhere the biggest surprise was X Island losing to Atlantea-Greenville as the capital city suburban side look to win their first international appearance in two years.

After taking out the second seed the Monsoons superior defense continue on with Tyler Pierre and Gordon Quarant showing why not only they are the top pair for the Monsoons, but why national team coaches have paired them together. Recap: North Coffs showed their dominance this season by easily coasting to a championship under Jay McCormick and MVP Nathan Garner. The team went 11-0 this season with some very impressive defense, allowing only 8 goals this entire season. Armidale also had a show of force this season going 7-2-2 but failed to convert when it mattered most in the playoffs against Kempsey. Both Kempsey and Coffs put on strong shows with their offense scoring 35 and 39 goals respectively, however they could not beat the high powered North Coffs team this season. Grafton fell just 1 point short of the playoffs as Defenseman Ben Reed was left to carry the team on his back after his partner, Pablo Terry left for North Coffs over the last off-season.

At the halfway point of the season it was clear that the Sile Crocodile were simply still a bad team. They did however stun the entire VHL by picking up a 2-0 victory over the Turoki Islanders on Gameday 12. The Islanders were a Playoff team just one season prior but had been struggling to kick of Season 9 and the magnitude of the problems in Turoki were emphasized when they became the first victims of the crocodile chomp on the season. In the Western Conference, the Marine Mammals in just their third season were faring much more respectably just 5 points out of the playoff zone and 1 point from not being in last place.

There was a massive gulf at the top of the Western Conference however as the Seraai Icetronauts were running away with the conference and looking to claim a second consecutive Western Conference title. In fact, after three rounds of play against all opponents on Matchday 18, Seraai were the only team in the Western Conference with a positive goal differential.

As the regular season came to a close the Marine Mammals were the talk of the town as they had pushed themselves off the bottom of the table and were competing for a playoff spot in just their third season. With two games to play they were just one point behind the Alikki-Corra Aye-Ayes but would have to play the dominating Conference champions the Seraai Icestronauts on the final day of the season.

While pinning the hopes of excitement on the final day on the shoulders of an expansion team needing to overturn the Conference Champions by 6 or more goals in order to make the playoffs, there was no need to stretch the excitement in the Eastern Conference to feel the excitement. Yeaddin HC and the Morata Valley Fog were tied on 35 points going into the final day of competition while at the cut line for the playoffs, the Turoki Islanders and Obaobai Bombers were also tied with each on 25 points. With the Islanders having roared back from a difficult start to the season they would be idle on the final matchday hoping that the Lopinka Lynx could keep Obaobai from getting a point.

The dream in the West died as the Seraai Icestronauts cemented their Western Conference title with a 1-0 victory over the Marine Mammals but it was still a wonderful season for the newcomers who placed 4th in the conference just 3 points out of a playoff spot. While everything went as expected out west, there was nothing expected about the results in the East as the Morata Valley Fog were denied the Eastern Conference title as they were held 1-1 by the last-place Sile Crocodile on the final matchday allowing Yeaddin HC to claim first place despite their own 3-3 draw with the Eelandii Explorers due to having a superior head-to-head record against the Fog.

Perhaps even more stunningly, Obaobai secured a 3-2 win over the Lopinka Lynx to qualify for the playoffs despite having the second most goals conceded in the Conference and a goal differential of negative five, finishing one point clear of the heavily favored Turoki Islanders to qualify for the playofs for the first time in their history.

The Western Conference Wild Card matchup was a rematch for the third season running but this time it was the Vilisorma Yutzies emerging in a low scoring series that saw just two regular time goals scored with a goalkeeper in net, only one of which was even strength. It was also a series that saw the road team win all three matches, the opposite of the Eastern Conference Wild Card in which every game was won by the home team giving the advantage to the Morata Valley Fog who ended Obaobai's dream season in overtime at the Foggery. In one of the most exciting and competitively balanced series in the history of the Wild Card round, all three games would be settled in overtime and all three resulted in a dramatic victory for the home crowd generating maximum ratings on the Playoff Overtime Game Winner Energy spectrum.

After two consecutive Vilitan Hockey Championship seasons where the title was contested between two Eastern Conference teams, it was time for the West to rise again as the Vilisorma Yutzies came back from an 0-2 deficit to click off four straight wins over Eastern Conference champion Yeadidn HC to qualify for their third Vilitan Hockey Championship series. Their opponent would be their Western Conference rivals the Seraai Icestronatus. It would be a rematch of the 5th Vilitan Hockey Championship when Seraai outlasted Vilisorma over seven games to claim their second title. In the playoff round, Seraai had a thrilling series with the Morata Valley Fog that saw 24 goals scored across six games but 18 of them in the first three. After jumping out to a 3-0 series lead, Seraai were figured out by the Fog who established shut down play to win a pair of 1-0 games to keep the series close. However, the strength of Seraai was too great and the Icestronauts closed things out in Game 6 at the Foggery propelling them back to the Championship series for the first time since Season 6.

The road team would take the first two games of the series before Seraai secured their home ice advantage with wins in game three and four to put the Aye-Ayes on the brink. Alikki-Corra fought back at the Cryo-Dome in Seraai to take Game five 4-3 but the Icestronauts would seal their third Vilitan Hockey Championship on the road in the Capital City to close out the series 4-2 and firmly establish Seraai as the hottest town in Vilitan sports on the heels of Eastal Lunar FC's long-awaited first ever Vilitan Stellar Division Footsport Championship.

It would be just the second ever Vilitan Hockey Championship decided in Game 6 after four straight seasons where the final round required a full seven games to be decisive.
