24 - Normandy and Picardy
"Don't Let Me Feel Like I'm Living" - Vroum!
Tune: ("I Dare You" - The Regrettes)

Open up my eyes, yes I'm still here
Or at least I think I'm still here
I can never be quite sure
What is behind a closed door
Oh this life is so mundane
Working too many hours again and again
I could break the cycle
But I'd panic
Be frantic

Feel high up, never felt so low
Feel high up, never felt so low
Feel high up, never felt so low
Ooooooh
Jumped off the edge into nowhere
Jumped off the edge into nowhere
Just let me land, I don't care where
Just let me land, I don't care where

The bottles and cans scream
A paper trail from my dream
And maybe I might just wake up
It would be nice to see the sun
I can't seem to sleep and
I catch myself thinking
Oh isn't that a silly thing?
Keep my head down, just carry on

Am I waking up, or am I falling asleep?
I can't tell now, I've got to keep
My eye on the ball but
I just haven't got the gall
And somewhere deep inside my soul
I worry about losing control
But on the surface I feel fine
Yes I'm sure, yes I feel fine

The bottles and cans scream
A paper trail from my dream
And maybe I might just wake up
It would be nice to see the sun
I can't seem to sleep and
I catch myself thinking
Oh isn't that a silly thing?
Keep my head down, just carry on

Don't let me feel like I'm living
Please let me feel like I'm living
Don't leave me here on my own
Come on, go away, let me go

The bottles and cans scream
A paper trail from my dream
And maybe I might just wake up
It would be nice to see the sun
I can't seem to sleep and
I catch myself thinking
Oh isn't that a silly thing?
Keep my head down, just carry on
Northern French Names but with a general Western Med vibe, welcome to N&P

25. Saviera
Keep It Up, by Lyubov Blinova

To The Tune Of Femina by Sima

Lyubov Wrote This Song After She was Inspired by Her Sleep Issues.

On Stage, There are 2 Backing Singers. When the Song Starts, the Backing Singers Sing the Next Part While a Remote-Controlled Bed Whisks Onto Stage.

Keep it up, through the day through the night
I will show, for you, such a beautiful sight
Keep it up, every night every day
I don't care about what the neighbours will say

A Person Wakes Up on the Bed. It Turns Out to be Lyubov. She Starts Singing as She Removes Her Eye Mask. A Bottle of Pills are Visible on the Bed.

Falling asleep at such random times, I feel like a narcoleptic
But I am not, and these caffeine pills my doctor gave makes me a skeptic
I would try alternatives with herbs but I’m afraid that I’m allergic
And they suggested that I go run but honey, I am not athletic

Lyubov Looks Into a Different Camera Angle.

And my coworkers say: “Just drink some coffee”
But you, my dear, know best my philosophy

She Dramatically Removes Her Bedsheets and Sits on the Corner of the Bed.

You could scare me with news from Venezuela
Blow with all your soul into a vuvuzela
Use your rusty pipes and sing an acapella
Or you could use that thing of yours that you call “big fella”

She Gets Up and Walks Forward While the Cameraman Follows in Front of Her.

Keep it up, through the day through the night
I will show, for you, such a beautiful sight
Keep it up, every night every day
I don't care about what the neighbours will say

Lyubov Arrives at a Desk Where She Sits Down. It Looks Like a Doctor's Office. After a While She Gets Up and Sits at the Chaise Longue in Front of the Desk.

Swallow this candy, your face will turn blue because all the blood is rushing elsewhere
Feels kinda funny but after a while this will turn into quite the affair
Might be a problem if you say you’re tired but I want to keep going
But will it fix my sleep pattern problem, when I’ve tried all but blowing?

Heard from my therapist: “You should be naughty”
And you, my dear, know best my philosophy

You could scare me with news from Venezuela
Blow with all your soul into a vuvuzela
Use your rusty pipes and sing an acapella
Or you could use that thing of yours that you call “big fella”

Lyubov Gets Up Again and Walks Back to the Bed.

Keep it up, through the day through the night
I will show, for you, such a beautiful sight
Keep it up, every night every day
I don't care about what the neighbours will say

She Gets Back in the Bed, but There is a Man Sleeping on One Side. He Doesn't Appear to be Wearing a Shirt.

So we try it out because it’s better late than never
And you give me the best night out that I have had ever
Compared to just being asleep this is much much better
Time to write for my doctors a resignation letter

Lyubov Seems Very Ecstatic While Singing This Next Part

It was worth it, it’s really really worth it
And I hope you don’t mind if every night we do a bit
At this rate I might possibly even get myself fit
So you’re in this too and I will never let you quit

The Camera Angle Switches From the Side of the Bed to the Front of the Bed.

Keep it up, through the day through the night
I will show, for you, such a beautiful sight
Keep it up, every night every day
I don't care about what the neighbours will say

The Two Backing Singers Take Their Mics Off the Mic Stand and Walk to the Beat as They Make Their Way to the Sides of the Bed Lyubov is in.

Keep it up, through the day through the night
I will show, for you, such a beautiful sight
Keep it up, every night every day
I don't care about what the neighbours will say

The Song Ends, the Crowd Cheers, and the Man is Still Asleep. Lyubov Smiles and Says: Thank You Mister X! God Bless Saviera!!! And the Backing Singers Sit on the Bed as the Remote Controlled Bed Whisks All of Them Off Stage.

Black or White — Mercyradio
performed in English to the tune of My Type — Saint Motel

Mercyradio is a Kalosian indie band. Since their founding in 2017, their live performances had mostly been limited to bar gigs. However, they got the chance to perform at the 2019 Kasin Indie Festival in July, where they really made a name for themselves. Soon, the offers started flowing in and they signed a contract with a record company. Since then, they have been busy producing their first album.

The album's name is yet to be announced, but the band have hinted that it will be released mid-December. Still, nothing has been confirmed yet. It is known, however, that one of the songs that will appear is a new track called Black or White, which is rumoured to be the planned lead single. With the blessing of their management, Black or White was submitted to RTVK to be considered for WorldVision. Mercyradio didn't actually think it'd take them anywhere but, well, here they are now.

For the big night, the band were wearing typical casual wear. The lead vocalist in particular was wearing a white sweater with a blue and red stripe, and chinos. There was a typical band setup on stage.

As the warm notes of the song began, all the band members were clapping their hands above their heads to the beat. The crowd joined along. After a bit, each of them started playing their respective instruments. The lead singer shouted into the mic: "What's up Majorium? This is Mercyradio and we're gonna rock your world!" before the music eventually calmed a bit and the singing parts began.

So after all the things are said
Sometimes love can be bitter
Feel like you’d rather be dead
But do not become a quitter

The singer grinned as he sang the next line.

Cause their manners show who people really are

As the mood filled with excitement, the band members shouted the phrase "black or white" with him. The stage lights came to life, and everyone looked like they were having a good time.

It’s never black or white
Ooh, you cannot think when you’re not breathing
It’s never black or white
Ooh, don’t lose your cool when first responding
It’s never black or white

Now things calmed down again.

So for better or for worse
Here comes the sun, it’s morning
Like a blessing or a curse
All the anger turns to yearning

As the camera focused on the lead singer, he grinned again as he sang this next part.

But their answers show who people really are

And again, excitement filled the arena and the atmosphere was full of hype.

It’s never black or white
Ooh, you cannot think when you’re not breathing
It’s never black or white
Ooh, don’t lose your cool when first responding
It’s never black or white

As the break began and the rest of the band sang their "la la la"s, the lead singer briefly disappeared off stage. Of course, the camera focused on the band members who were still on stage.

Soon, the lead singer was seen running back with a huge ball, which he then threw into the audience, leading to cheers. In this instrumental break, the camera focused on the movements of the ball as well as the audience as a whole, before going back to the lead singer and his mates on stage.

It’s never black or white
Ooh, you cannot think when you’re not breathing
It’s never black or white
Ooh, don’t lose your cool when first responding
It’s never black or white

The lead singer sustained that final note for a bit as the song ended. The song was over. This was it. The audience cheered, and the lead vocalist said, "From Kalosia with love, thank you Majorium!" before leaving the stage.

ETHANE // C2H6
Jamie Walker - A Dangerous Game

Alice Francis - Shoot Him down!
Image

The stage is bright. It is well lit by an array of white and red lights, setting the atmosphere of intensity and speed for the song. Jamie steps out on to the stage. She has a strong foundation on, and bold mascara and bright red lipstick, playing into the impressions created of her in the song. The audience cheers as she appears from the back of the stage. A spotlight is trained on her, bright enough to cut through the lights already projecting on to the stage. As she reaches the centre stage, she sits on the swing like in the photo of the artist, with her back towards the audience. She's holding the microphone in her right hand, while holding on to the swing in her left hand.

As it gets close to the point where she begins singing, she swivels her head towards the audience, looking directly at them. She winces slightly at the brightness of the lights on her before focusing on the audience. She begins singing. She swings slightly as well. As she is singing the first verse, she swivels on the swing in her short, darkish red dress which falls to just below her knees. This leaves her facing the audience completely. The camera swivels around in the opposition direction to look at her from the back and out towards the audience, before switching back to a front-on perspective. At the end of the verse, she jumps off the swing and moves towards the front of the stage. A man appears at the back of stage-right, but many people don't notice him yet because the back of the stage has mist shrouding it, leaving the view limited.

I am a victim of a malady,
I believed what he said, that's the start of my problems you see.
Love is such a dangerous game to play,
He knew that I would let him have his way,
Lay in my bed and beckon him to stay,
He's got them left right and centre, off on another bender.

Jamie turns around and looks straight at the man while singing this as he walks out towards her and the front of the stage. She is clearly expressing emotions of anger as shown by her facial expressions and body language. However, the way she acts also hints at seduction. As the pre-chorus comes to an end and Jamie sings 'back back back back'', she grabs hold of this guy's hand and starts dancing with him but also showing a distance between them. The dance aligns with ideas of ballroom dance and is quite a fast-paced dance, but also shows signs of rejection and wanting to keep a distance between each other while dancing. The cameras follow them dancing, switching perspectives between an overhead perspective, a side-on and a front-on perspective. The man is dressed in a suit and bowtie, adding to the supposed formality of the occasion.

Want to expose him,
I want to loathe him,
Can't say no to him,
And let him back back back back.

For the chorus, the lights become more intense, with flashing red and white lights adding to the atmospheric intensity of the song. Jamie and the man are dancing together, but also somewhat keeping a distance between each other within their ballroom dance. The two spotlights which were trained each of them have merged into one which follows them as they dance. They are dancing around the swing which is in centre-stage. At the end of the chorus when Jamie sings 'you fucking twat', she slaps the man in the face with audible sounds heard across the audience for effect. After this, the man backs off a bit but they are still dancing.

I said huhuoh, why'd you ask me in the first place
and yes I should've known that you would be so tw-o -faced, with haste
you'd move on to the next one, have fun, have fun you fucking twat.

Jamie steps forward to the front of the stage so the attention is returned to her and away from the man, who is shown to be just frozen not moving to symbolise how the focus has shifted again. There is a mist that lightly covers the floor as well adding effect. The spotlight over the man turns off, while the joint spotlight follows Jamie to the front of the stage. She engages in a monologue of sorts in her singing, expressing herself out towards the audience. The lights have returned to their slightly less intense fashion, but there are still intense sequences of white and red lights sprawled across the stage. As well as this, the stage is lined with dim red lights adding to the atmosphere of the performance. As it comes to the end of the verse, she turns around again. This time though, she heads for the swing.

I cannot bring myself to make him pay,
Yes my life is a fucking mess, I don't know what else to say,
Need to leave him.
Why did I believe him? For the third time this week, he leaves when I am asleep.

She sits down on the swing which has mist swirling up around the bottom of it. She starts swinging lightly while facing the audience with the spotlight trained on her. The spotlight on the man returns and he starts moving again, dancing around her trying to get her attention while she sings the pre-chorus, looking at her with hope but also slyness, representing his position in this song. She looks at him with more emotive anger and disgust and annoyance, reflected in her facial expressions and body language. The song initially watches from far out to show him dancing and her reaction, but quickly shifts to a close-up of Jamie's face, showing her singing but also her reactive facial expressions.

Want to expose him,
I want to loathe him,
Can't say no to him,
And let him back back back back.

As she sings the first part of this chorus, most of the lights drop out reflecting the slightly calmer atmosphere in this first part of the chorus. As she is singing it, she puts her hand out and touches/strokes his face as if to show an emotional connection between them. He stands still to the right of her with her hand on his face, looking at her with 'love' and desire, keeping his eyes especially trained on her lips. As the first part of the chorus ends, she slaps him in the face hard, and he backs off a few steps.

The lights return to full intensity but this time there is a spotlight on her from each corner of the stage. She is raised up by the swing which brings her into the air as she holds on and sings out. She is obviously also wearing a harness for safety reasons. She quickly moves around the stage in the air and then descends at the front of the stage facing the audience, the spotlights following her. The man just stands there and watches her fly around.

I said huhuoh, why'd you ask me in the first place
and yes I should've known that you would be so tw-o -faced, with haste
you'd move on to the next one, have fun, have fun you fucking twat.

I said huhuoh, why'd you ask me in the first place
and yes I should've known that you would be so tw-o -faced, with haste
you'd move on to the next one, have fun, have fun you fucking twat.

Jamie is stood at the front of the stage. She is facing the audience at the start of the bridge. She quickly turns around, the spotlight following her, and heads for the back of the stage. Three more guys come out on to the stage, wearing suits and bowties as well but with the top two buttons undone on the shirts. They come on to the stage from stage right, centre, and left, and then meet in the middle. As she sings 'baby boy' she turns around to the audience, looks at them, before turning around again for the next line and brushing her hands down their chests while curving her back slightly. There are still two spotlights, one on the man who is dancing mid-stage, and one which is on Jamie and the three other men.

Cry and cry my life's a lie,
I am just here to satisfy
His pleasures and desires,
Except at the club tomorrow.
Baby boy say bye to dad,
If he is, I liked the lads,
He can't be just mine in our bed,
Find someone else to give head.

They turn around and then start to walk towards the front of the stage slowly, engaging in a fast-paced ballroom-style dance as they move forward.

Want to expose him,
I want to loathe him,
Can't say no to him,
And let him back back back back.

As she sings the final chorus, Jamie is at the front of the stage. She steps forward so she is in front of the other three men, with the first guy coming up to join the line of men behind her. The spotlight focuses on her with the spotlights off on the other guys. However, because of the intensely bright lighting they are still very visible, just they are more silhouettes - a purposeful effect.

I said huhuoh, why'd you ask me in the first place
and yes I should've known that you would be so tw-o -faced, with haste
you'd move on to the next one, have fun, have fun you fucking twat.

Jamie turns away from the audience. She looks at the four men now in a line, scanning them up and down visibly to the audience. The camera is focused on her facial expressions and tracks her eye movement, before switching to a view of her and the men from side-on. She steps forward towards them as they come round her, slowly surrounding her as it comes to the end of the final section of the song vocals. As she sings the final line, the lights dim to the point that only a silouhette can be seen of her and the four men. She is completely surrounded by them. As she finishes singing, she descends down out of sight with a trapdoor that allows her to return backstage. The four men turn to the audience as the song ends.

Someone,
Who won't mess with me,
One, maybe two or three
Or more cause I'm free,
Can just go out and party in
The darkness of the ohlalalala alley.

The stage is left with only dim lights, with only the 4 men visible on stage. They turn away from the audience again and walk backstage. You can hear Jamie shout 'thank you everyone' through the microphone from backstage.
Esportivan and Proud.

Robert: Thank you to Ethane, and that was the last entry you've heard tonight!

The audience make an audible sigh.

Robert: I know. Too short, huh? Well, you've got 23 wonderful entries to choose from tonight. Your national commentators will explain the voting arrangements for your particular country. Some nations tonight are using televoting, some are not, but for the benefit of everybody watching, here is a quick reminder of all the songs tonight:

Image

Robert: The phone lines are now open and will remain so for approximately 10 minutes. So get calling. And however much you would like to, you cannot vote for your own country. Nothing funny happens, you don't break the internet or our telephone lines or anything like that, you just get a message saying "you cannot vote for your own country".

He stares intently at the autocue, for he now needs to repeat this in two languages, one of which he doesn't particularly speak well.

Robert: Les lignes telephoniques sont ouvertes en maintenaint et ils vont fermer en dix minutes. Vous ne pouvez pas voter pour votre prope payée. Phew. Now, the easy bit. ivnctios apertvs svnt et aperti svnt enim X minvtes. non suffragivm enim terra tvvs.

Robert: Some viewers will now take an extended break.

Image

Robert: And for those of you who aren't taking a break, we have a great treat for you in store tonight. We want to celebrate everything that Mister X has to offer in the modern world. It's a fascinating, vibrating nation that has come a long way in a short space of time. We've got an inspiring anthem for you tonight which borders a little bit on jingoism but-anyway-i-wasnt-supposed-to-mention-that-bit. In keeping with the WorldVision Song Contest, we've loosely titled it Apollo: the bringer of music!

Interval Act: "Apollo, the Bringer of Music"
Tune: Rick Wakeman - "Arthur"

A warm round of applause as Robert introduces the interval act allows the cameras and lights to slowly change positions. The lights, from seemingly very natural during the presentation, move towards a more darker motif, with no one in any danger of being shrouded in any light at all other than one man, who wears an outfit that sort of resembles an ageing man in his 40s. He is wearing a white T-shirt and black trousers, with a headset microphone. He stands in the middle of the stage in one solitary spotlight.

(0:01)
Whoever shall discover the true meaning of X is the first to be heralded for all of time.

The camera cuts to a close-up of the conductor of the orchestra, who is shown to be bringing the drums in to the performance.

With a crash from the cymbals, the trumpets start up with the opening section. (0:13) A man, dressed in a tuxedo, stands at the back of the hall. A spotlight finds his way to him. He stands still for a couple of seconds whilst the audience crane their heads around to have a look at him, and then he begins to walk down the stairs at the back of the grandstand in the hall (0:17). As he starts doing this, another crash reveals another spotlight and another "hero" (0:21) on the left hand side of the hall. This is a mixed-race lady in a blue dress and blouse, carrying a black handbag, with big curly blonde hair. Like the man before her, she waits for a few seconds before starting down the stairs herself (0:27). With no crash on the third pass in this opening section, the camera cuts to a shot of the strings section, whose countermelody is being played at a greater volume in this second pass, overlapping the start of the third pass. On the fourth pass (0:36), the man at the beginning raises his right fist up to the roof and the camera cuts to the big disco ball in the middle of the auditorium. It starts chipping some of itself away, piece by piece.

With the second "instrumental verse", if that is what you could call it, a man dressed somewhat looking like Jesus, who looks completely out of image with the rest of the orchestra, in that he is not smartly dressed like the rest of them, begins his piano solo (0:44). He effectively camps up the whole interval act. The lights all change to a multifaceted collection of various colours, in keeping with the pianist's outfit, which has long flowing gapes and is badly coloured, looking a mismatch in all parts. It is perhaps best described as totally tasteless. The camera cuts to a wide shot of the orchestra sometimes, whilst the man in the T-shirt still has his fist pointed to the roof and the two other heroes are making their way from the back of the hall, very slowly, to the stage. The music slows down and quietens down a little (0:59). The camerawork slows down as well, as do the lights. A degree of normality restored to the campness of the previous 15 seconds. Several people planted in the audience, who are dressed in civilian clothing, stand up and begin to make their way to the front of the stage at a very slow pace. The music picks up again (1:14), with a close-up of the orchestra, before cutting to a shot of the man at the beginning who lowers his fist and begins to turn his back on the audience, making his way slowly towards the orchestra at the back of the stage. More plants in the audience stand up, and, several steps behind the others, start making their way slowly towards the front.

As the key changes (1:27), the lights all change colour and whatever colour they were currently in, each light now drops a little bit darker. Yellows now become dark. Blues now become royal. Bright reds become dark reds. The camera takes a sweeping long shot from the rear right of the hall, showing the light changes. A few accented notes on the piano on the next pass of the main refrain (1:34) result in another close-up of the pianist. The lights all change colour again, as the cameras start tracking the process of the disco ball chipping itself away. It appears to be chipping away on one side. They then track the process of the audience plants making their way to the front of the stage.

(1:55) The lights fade down to a more reduced level. The camera fades through back to a front-on angle as the vocalist returns to the picture, walking slowly forwards.

(2:08)
And once upon a time
We dreamed of a good life
A life where we were free, and X marks that
As each day passed we saw the moon and looked up at the stars
A beacon of light in a dark, dark world

He is joined on the stage by the man wearing a tuxedo, who has made his way onto the stage. The man in the tuxedo now begins to sing.

(2:38)
We came upon the star
And now we will go far
The dream of Mister X, it'ss what we want
Apollo standing tall and now the moon shall never fall
in mortem, orbis non svfficit

They both take a step forwards in time with the music as the lights flash, accenting the chord (3:09). They continue to slowly take steps forwards, as one by one, some of the audience plants join them, and although several steps behind, they take steps forward. As the singing section starts again, they stop walking forwards, with about half of the stage still to go (3:39).

Robert: Thank you, everybody! And thanks to that wonderful performance by the MRX Television Concert Orchestra, conducted by the wonderful Darch Ave.

[Applause.]

Image

Sam: Welcome back to our viewers who took a break there. As you can probably tell from the huge applause in the hall, you missed a fantastic and beautiful interval act, but you can relive it by going to the official WorldVision website and watching it all over again. Or, if your internet connection is a bit slow and unreliable - much like Robert in fact...

[Laughter.]

Sam: ... then you can order the official CD to listen to the songs again. Or how about the official DVD or Blu-Ray, packed with over 5 hours of behind-the-scenes clips of tonight and extensive rehearsals?

[The audience all make an interested "oooooh".]

The lights go down and Sam starts the voting...

COMMENTARY - SPIRITUAL REPUBLIC OF CARYTON
Commentary by Carol Emerson, Master's Degree in Music - Music Theory Concentration
Broadcast by the Trinity Broadcasting Network of Caryton

Image
Carol Emerson, in her outfit for tonight's event

"Good evening to those subscribed to the Trinity Broadcasting Network of Caryton. Members of the Gospel Church of Caryton and god-fearing people across the world, this is the 77th edition of WorldVision, in Majorium, Mister X. This futuristic and... diverse city, blesses us with the honor of the presence of not only Leading Reverend Dorothy Shirleyton's presence, but the Ecclesiastical Meritocracy's highest clergy officials and-- Cary, our vessel of Christ and carrier of miracles. The heart and soul of Caryton would like to extend a warm welcome to all those choosing to watch TBNC for this fine event."

Opening Act

"Even though our nation has only participated one time, I appreciate the sentiment of Mister X-- showcasing how far this competition has gone. This city is odd but intriguingly beautiful, and I forsee many more contests for a long, long time."

1 - Ruritane

"Oh, dear. This one's bombastic-- but certainly not in a captivating way. I appreciate the sentiment of patriotism, but it rubs me the wrong way here-- to call all other nations inferior. We are all God's children here, and as for the music-- it's lax, at most. The choreography clearly isn't well-practiced and the soloist in particular takes away from the background dancers and vocalists-- which clearly are supporting them. This is a weak start for WorldVision standards, but the music is catchy and I adore the employment of such a whimsical style. If you... desire to vote for this country, please go online to our website-- gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote -- and click the bubble that says "Ruritane". I don't imagine many would, though."

2- Main Nation Ministry

"While this type of music isn't seen in our country-- at all-- and it violates our strict moral standards, I can't help but nod my head to it and tap my foot. It's energizing, intriguing, and morally decent in lyrics. It doesn't mention anything grody, and it doesn't curse our Father in Heaven. The vocals could clearly be better but the lyrics are fine. I appreciate the festive feel, seeing as we just got out of Halloween and are now moving towards the thanksgiving season-- not the christmas season. I think that this country has impressed me with a song that doesn't even fit our faith-based style. Kudos to you. I like this one. If you desire to vote for this country, once again, please go to our website-- gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote -- and click that bubble that says 'MNM'. Good luck to you. "

3- Talvezout

"She represents what? They... aren't a biological female? That's almost... apostasy! However, the performance... dear Lord. It started off gritty, but. I feel... choked up. Near the end, I feel tears. The lyrics are magical. That's all I'm going to say. They're a great performer, regardless of everything else. The staging was absolutely great. If you feel like voting for this country, head to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the bubble labelled "Talvezout". Good luck to you."

4- Nahlcomo

"Oddly... artificial. I can't understand the lyrics, and the background images don't make sense. The music has an odd party sense to it-- I can't put my finger on it since I don't understand most of the words. The vocals are pretty unpredictable but it's fun to listen to-- for ambience! A peculiar entry, for sure-- but there are bound to be people to vote for it. My feelings about this song are mixed, but for listenings' sake, I somewhat like it-- in a weird fashion. But then again, for this odd holographic program, that wouldn't be too far out of the question. Head to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the Nahlcomo bubble if you think this piece has won you over."

5- Spiritual Republic of Caryton

"Latanya! Praise the Lord, you've come back! And with my favorite song from your latest contemporary album! Wait... she's doing it! She's doing the prayer stance! I feel the spirit in you! God be with us! What a refresher to have gospel music in this contest. It's a shame we can't vote for ourselves. Regardless, listening to that soulful voice is rewarding enough, wouldn't you agree?"

6- Greater Korean Juche Republic

"Despite the implications of loyalty to the Kim regime, this song is incredibly bubbly. I can't deny that the Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble is talented in all rights, even if we spiritually oppose their Jucheist policies and... human rights violations. However, for musics' worth, this is a bop. I applaud you Park. This has to be one of the best foreign pieces so far. My definite favorite at the moment is Main Nation Ministry's entry, but this is enough to consider a solid 2nd place already. Ironically, both dictatorships are in the lead already, for the umpteenth time, by Caryton's votes. If you haven't already, go to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the GKJR bubble to cast your vote. Good luck."

7- Scotatrova

"Wh- wh. In front of the Leading Reverend!? In front of all of our clergy officials? I'm at a loss for words. I can't believe this- . The Lord gives us all trials and we are to love all people as equals, yet I feel this was staged just because we refuse to change our church's doctrine on homosexuality. Music-wise, he's incredibly talented, but that stunt is horribly uncalled for! Please, I feel like raising LGBT awareness is fair and all, but keep it out of this competition in front of people who may not share your ideals. This is a place to share culture, friendships, the various faiths and beliefs of the world, nationality, history, and musical talent-- NOT to protest. How crude of you, sir. Visit gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the scotatrova bubble if you feel like voting for this."

8- Ertzei Kishim

"Such a shame. They had the perfect staging, the perfect voices, and the perfect choreography, yet they feel the need to act indecent on stage. Save that sort of thing until marriage, in the sacred confines of your own house. For the sake of the younger viewers of this program, I beg of you. Their voices are amazing, their props and costumes are on point-- I just don't like what they /did/ with those things. I'd still give them points for a great show, but just-- dear Lord, how do I put this-- bear in mind what you're doing. For representing the holy land, this isn't a way to act. Head to our website, gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the EK button to vote for this nation despite the sorrowfully sexual nature of it. I still think they can get **some** of our points back, but it's up to the viewer-- who I must remind you are all gathered in families."

9- Malta Comino Gozo

"Oh... I'm blushing. I never thought a boy band would do so well... I think I can get behind this! Despite being so far away, I felt so close. A-Anyway, I'm off topic! Ahem. Their vocal prowess is impressive, their material was clean, they clearly have a crowd-pleasing chemistry. This has to be a pretty high-ranked contender, in my opinion. Head to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the MCG button if they've wowed you, too."

10- Elejamie

"So simplistic. So clean. Such talent. I've found my new personal favorite. So far, I think Elejamie's got this in the bag, followed by Malta Comino Gozo, then MNM, then Juche Korea. This WorldVision's finally kicking into high gear. Thank you for a genuine performance, sans distractions, sans sexualization, and sans getting a message across. Thank you, for respecting that this is a musical festival. If you'd like to vote for this deserving nation, visit gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and proudly click the Elejamie button."

11- Achaean Republic

"Wow. I'm in shock. A genuine love song. Simple, yet so bubbly and encouraging. The words lack impurities, the words are in fact-- magical. I appreciate the usage of orchestral instruments because outside of Korean propaganda pieces, we rarely see those in WorldVision anymore. Her voice is amazing, and this has to be one of my favorite instrumental backings so far. I give massive kudos to the instrumentalists. This competes heavily with Elejamies' and Malta's entries. I wouldn't be surprised if this got first place, either. Go to our website, gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote, and cast your votes if you believe this nation is deserving of the full set of 12."

12- Mercedini

"Their harmonies are good, and the performance is alright in my opinions. I could see myself listening to this in the future. However, aside from the visuals, there's nothing too special about this one to me. It's a great song, but I forsee it only getting a medium amount of points from our viewers. If you'd like to vote for this duet, please visit our website at gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote . Good luck to you. We're approaching the half-way part of the contest quickly. How is it already getting close to over?"

13- Antahbrantahstan

"This entry in particular is okay, and the dancing is complicated. The connotations of a sexual nature are somewhat implied, but thankfully don't distract enough from the piece itself. It doesn't really click with me, but I do like the references to traditional instruments. I don't know how this one will do at home. Go to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click on Antah... once again and make your decisions. "

14- Vartuga

"No. No. This song is disgusting and a cultural disgrace. The sheer fact that it's rap music has already got me declining points, but the ghetto terminology, racial references, a clear unintent to win-- it's all degenerate. And people wonder why an entire race is discriminated against outside of Caryton-- because people associate this with a perfectly normal and productive people. You're part of the problem, and this random act has no sympathy from us. Let us pray that you change your ways. I'm not going to bother with the link this time. Goes to show why alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and vapes should all be banned without prejudice. For the sake of our people."

15- Mister X

"The accordion's a nice touch, and the orchrestra did well, but I'm afraid there's not much to say about this entry in particular. Rather sad, coming from a great performance nation like Mister X. I don't want to call it generic, but that had to be the second or third song we've heard mentioning calling on somebody. I'm sorry. Go to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the MX button if you believe that this entry has wowed you. That'd be going against the stream."

16- Merecendi

"No, once more. Since when did this gangster culture become acceptable?"

17- Todlichebujoku

"It's so loud! Oh my! This certainly isn't like the hymns or gospel back home. Though, they are creative with costuming and staging, and the vocalists are pretty talented with what they do-- even if it's aggressive. I don't know how popular this one will be at home, but regardless, if you want to vote for it, here's the link once more, gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote , and click the Todlichebujoku button if you could party to this song."

18- Estogium

"Wow! Another great performance! This one is definitely a contender for a spot on the top 5, let me tell you. She is the living embodiment of this generation's vocalists, and the light-work was impressive. Furthermore, she seems to sincerely enjoy what she does, and the crowd is eating her up. Estogium doesn't fail to deliver in WorldVision. Already looking like a tough challenge for Caryton's favorite. If you'd like to vote for this performance, go to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the 'Estogium' button. Good luck to you."

19 - Voxija

"Amazing! She's so passionate and the background dancers are super into what they are doing. I've noticed great vocal technique, including riffs and runs. Ms. Voxa, have you considered dabbling in Gospel music? Your voice has so much spirit to it. Anywho, yet another tough competitor! I can't believe it! Again, if you'd like to vote for this deserving nation, go to our website at gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the 'Voxija' button. Good luck to you. "

20. N. A. P.

"She has a nice voice, but this entry in particular isn't that special in terms of music, staging, or choreography. It's a shame-- especially from the likes of Normandy and Picardy. If you would like to vote, go to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the NAP button."

21- Saviera

"The staging is nice, but everything else is sorta lacking. I'm sorry. For something so late into the night, it would suck to almost end on a rather neutral note like this. gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and click the Saviera button for voting."

22- Kalosia

"Mercyradio, thank you for breathing some life into this competition so late on. Had this competition not already been flooded with so many great entries, you would have definitely ascended to the top of many lists. Don't get discouraged by this, because you have a long musical future ahead of you. Go to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote and give some points to this band!"

23- Ethane

"Dear merciful Lord! Another unsavory, impure addition. I'm sorry, but vulgarity and seductive, sexualization in a family program is one thing-- but repeating them over and over again is just bad traction for you as an artist. Really ending on a sour note, despite the good amount of effort put into the show. Go to gospelchurchofcaryton.com.src/wv77/vote if you want to get rid of the sanctity of a family television night."

Closing Statement

"People of Caryton and believers of the Gospel Church of Caryton everywhere-- it's been a long, tough night. The votes are being tallied now, and the TBNC headquarters in Georgine is getting more calls and emails than a telethon! Let's go to some of our people to see what they thought of this edition of WorldVision!"

"Honey, I thought this night went by just splendidly. Girl, I think people really look up to these sort of things, and that's the power of music, and the gospel of our Lord. Tonight couldn't have gone any better." - Latanya Anderson, after handing out her signed copies of the Bible to fans.

"Oh, I believe it was just splendid, aside from a few vulgar performances. I don't regret coming here, spending my money to see Latanya and all of these talented children of God." - Leading Reverend Dorothy Shirleyton.

"And now... the votes are in! Drumroll please..."

ETV1 presents WorldVision 77 - English language commentary by Cerin Erali and Flynn Taggart

Image

Image

CE: Welcome to WorldVision 77! Bienvenido a WorldVision 57! Yalcom WorldVision 77! Live from... Fleen, is it Mah-jorium or May-jorium? Or Mah-yorium?
FT: It doesn't matter.
CE: Live from Mister X, then! Mise S! Anyway, I'm Cerin Erali...
FT: ... And I'm Flynn Taggart.
CE: And we are your English language commentators for this evening. For a Spanish commentary, Iyilim language commentary or to sing-along to each entry, please press the red button. Thank you. Para Español, Iyilim o karaoke, pulse botón rojo por favor. Gracias. Aspenol, Iyilim o cereoc - Ancelis o Aspenol, ne Iyilim - plaes toc rad boton. Fenci.
FT: You know how the voting works, they'll explain it later but just dial the number on screen, text to it or use the WorldVision App. We'll give you instructions on how to vote when we get there.
CE: Though we're nice enough to let you all know that you cannot vote for song #12. Because that's us! And it'll just be a waste of money and a waste of a vote.
FT: And unless my co-host can think of anything else to add...
CE: I can't.
FT: It's time to get on with the show.

Opening Act

CE: Naturally, we can't see the opening film with you live, but we did get a sneak peek at it before the contest. And it was very good, very interesting. Just a showcase of how they did at their last WorldVisions. They even won it once!
FT: I know, it showed.
CE: And the triumphant music becoming even more triumphanter as it reaches the end. Then we get the opening song.
FT: It was good.
CE: It was very good. Not more I can say.
FT: And then the hosts show up.
CE: Lovely people, if they're anything like their commentary they'll do a great job of hosting it. First entry?
FT: First entry.
CE: Let's do this.

01 - Ruritane

FT: First song of the night. It's OK, in the decent category.
CE: I must admit it's catchy.
FT: The kids'd love it.
CE: But will the Elejamian public? Maybe. There's only one way to find out, folks.

02 - Main Nation Ministry

CE: Say what you want about the Main Nation Ministry and their entries, but they sure as heck go all out when it comes to performing them!
FT: I didn't care much for it.
CE: No, neither did I much. But I still liked it. Nice and dancey.

03 - Axuva

TBA

04 - Talvezout

FT: That was... something.
CE: Something good, I'd like to point out. Seriously, the tune, the message, the staging, completely brilliant and I will be shocked upon shocked if this doesn't finish top ten.

05 - Nahicomo

CE: Just as good as the last one. Maybe a bit better in my opinion. Besides, a holographic entry doesn't sound so bad. Could be fun, even!
FT: Too bad I have no idea what they're saying.
CE: Me neither.

06 - Spiritual Republic of Caryton

CE: And it's the return of these guys!
FT: You can't stop the gospel train.
CE: Nope. And, much like their last entry, also presented to us by the lovely Latanya Anderson and her merry band of gospelers, it was OK. Not my sort of thing...
FT: Nor mine.
CE: But if it is your sort of thing, then that's good.

07 - Greater Korean Juche Republic

CE: Wow, two for one! Two new returnees from Monterra. No Kim Seyong-Taek this time but the lady replacing her's doing a good enough job. Shame I'm not that super into the song but we'll see how it goes.

08 - Scotatrova

CE: We haven't been keen on Scotatrova's last few entries, haven't we?
FT: No.
CE: But I'm going to say that I like this one. Definite top ten for sure. Potential winner? Unlikely but not ruling it out.

09 - Ertzei Kishim/Kishrael

CE: It's not as good as their last entry. Feels a bit generic. But would I bump to it if it was on in the club? Yes. Yes I would.
FT: I didn't like it anyway.

10 - Malta Comino Gozo

CE: And welcome back Malta Comino Gozo! A nice bit of dance-pop-rock to get the kids going, should do well this evening. Better than their debut anyway.
FT: Still an overlooked entry.
CE: That it was Fleen.

11 - Baylian

TBA

12 - Elejamie

CE: And here we are, back in the competition!
FT: Just hope it doesn't end up like last time.
CE: I don't think it will. I hope not anyway. Anyway, standard "it's good" spiel, blah blah blah, best of luck guys.

13 - Ekoz

TBA

14 - Achaean Republic

CE: So, from the sounds of it, the national final for these guys was a bit, shall we say, controversial.
FT: Rosario Screwjob.
CE: Just hope they don't get too mad.
FT: Probably won't. Song's good anyway.
CE: It is. A bit of a change from their last load of entries but it's still good in its own right. Another possible top ten.

15 - Polkopia

SADLY WITHDRAWN

16 - Mercedini

CE: Beat's good. That's the only truly positive thing I can say about it.
FT: I didn't really like it.
CE: Neither did I. Too autotuney and too long intro. I'd still dance but I don't really care much for it. Sorry.

17 - Antahbrantahstan

FT: At least it's better?
CE: A bit. Bold and brash. And brass too. Not my sort of thing but this'll still do very well.

18 - Vartugia

FT: It was OK.
CE: Hard to hate it really.

19 - Mister X

FT: Our gracious hosts.
CE: Not my sort of thing but it's unique, the good sort of unique. A bit of a step up from last time and hopefully it'll get them out of this dump they're in.

20 - Merecendi

CE: Didn't we have these guys before?
FT: That's Mercedini. This is Merecendi. Hard to mix them up really.
CE: Silly mistake. Song itself was OK, shame about the abrupt end.
FT: Complete opposite for me. Thank G-dash-D for the sudden ending.

21 - Todlichebujoku

FT: Am I the only one who was expecting a comedic entry with this tune?
CE: No, I was kind of expecting one too. But the song we got was still a very good one.
FT: I agree. Takes me back to the 80s, around the start of my career.

22 - Estogium

CE: I don't know, I think this song'll end the BEAN nations' top ten streak.
FT: ABEN. Also, I thought the streak ended in Monterra.
CE: Did it? I mean, Eleanora had to drop out because she dropped down some stairs but I like to think of it as a pause.
FT: Let's just agree to disagree.
CE: Let's. Anyway, the song! I'm not that keen. It feels... meh.
FT: Same. I'd still bet on it getting top ten.

23 - Voxija

FT: Is it me or did someone else already do this song?
CE: Probably you, Fleen.
FT: Still an OK song.
CE: That it is. Could do well, though.

24 - Normandy and Picardy

CE: It's cute and it's danceable. It should receive high marks from us, maybe from everyone else too.

25 - Saviera

CE: It's nice and it's tropical. It might score well with us. I'm not sure about them but I could see it being fairly popular in Achaea.

26 - Kalosia

FT: Coming soon to a commercial near you.
CE: It's a good song as well. It's nice and it's colourful. The downside is that it sounds like it'll get boring after a few listens but enjoy it while you can, folks!

27 - Ethane

FT: And, finally, we have this thing. This quite decent song.
CE: Agreed. Brilliant way to go out, should be worth a few points from the Elejamian public.

Samir "Sammy" Ghatak, a DJ and singer who was Elejamie's representative back in WV74, held in Angradka, Polkopia. There, he and his song Never Going To Sleep Again finished 13th place with 66 points.

Hello Majorium, this is Coventry calling. Hello from Elejamie. I'm Sammy Ghatak, better known as DJ Sammy Attack and ironically known as Artist Unknown, and I just wanted to say that we've had a very good competition here with plenty of good entries. I've checked and a couple of my favourites received points. So without further to do, here are the votes from the Elejamian public.

  1. Ruritane
  2. Ertzei Kishim/Kishrael
  3. Caryton
  4. Mister X
  5. Achaean Republic
  6. Scotatrova
  7. Talvezout

Now our top three points, the songs that us Elejamians liked the most. Are you ready? Well, here they are. Eight points go to Normandy and Picardy.

Ten points go to Malta Comino Gozo.

And finally, we give our twelve points to Todlichebujoku! Gracias, thank you, dhan'yabada! Good night!

1 - Ruritaine
2- Nahlcoma
3- Main Nation Ministry
4- Ertzei Kishim
5- Malta Comino Gozo
6- Scotatrova
7- Elejamie

8- Kalosia, for a song you could genuinely have fun and dance to. Versatility is key.

10- Spiritual Republic of Caryton, for a contemporary gospel entry that was emotionally pulling. Felt the spirit in the vocal choice and lyrics.

12- Achaen Republic, for a love song that genuinely stuck with me. Great choice of artist.

From a distance, a young, slightly psychotic woman is heard yelling to someone, probably against her manager.

“¡Les voy a cortar las fuckin’ tetas por hacerme esta jodia’ mierda, so maso de cabrones! Ustedes se merecen que las mujeres de usted se lo claven con un negro por quererme hacer anunciar los fuckin’ puntos! Fuck you, AS1! Y ojalá que aquella otra se lo metan por el cu––“

”I'm going to cut your fucking tits off for making me do this shit, you bunch of dumbness! You deserve that your cuckold women get fucked by a black guy for making me announce these fuckin’ points. Fuck you, AS1! And I hope that that other bitch (Anamaría) gets it in the a––“

“Filming!,” announced the camera crew that the link-up between Corola and Majorium was successful.

Manamma, the infamous spurned national final contestant, would give out the points for the Achaean Republic.

“Good evening, Majorium! Buenas noches! This is Corola calling, and we are glad to enjoy a (veers off the teleprompter) fucking farce of a show that everybody in Achaea knows that I should’ve been there, but AS1 is begging for my presence as a PR stunt––“

The signal is briefly interrupted.

“And let’s announce the first results of the Achaean vote:

1 point: Merecendi
2 points: Mercedini
3 points: Estogium
4 points: Kalosia
5 points: Talvezout
6 points: Ethane
7 points: Todlichebujoku

"And now those good points that nobody but me deserves…

8 points to go… Main Nation Ministry!

10 points go to… Elejamie!

And 12 points that should’ve been mine, but now I have to say who won them… Malta Comino Gozo!

“Thank you for listening to me blab about the points (grabs a canister of gasoline and turns off a lighter), so I can douse this small-ass AS1 studio in flames. Good night, you fu––!”

As she attempts to douse the small studio in gasoline, the police barge in and grab Manamma with handcuffs and a straight-jacket. The Achaean signal is immediately cut off.

Sam: Thank you very much, Doctor! That brings us to half time, with 11 out of 23 votes completed. Let's take a look at the leaderboard so far.

Image

Sam: So as you can see, Elejamie has a 20-point lead over Kalosia and Malta Comino Gozo, but with 12 nations still to vote, there's still all to play for. We'll take a break, don't go away.

Image

The camera cuts to the green room, with Robert, having sprinted down from the commentary box, looking distinctly out of breath.

Robert: I'm here with Et... et... eter-nah, the current leaders from Ele-jarm-ee. So, if I can just sit down on your couch... what are you thinking at this point?
Mike Ramsey: Honestly amazed, we were expecting to be, like, mid table or something. To see us come first, with two twelvers and points from everyone, absolute achievement. I'm really pleased about that."
His bandmates, Bernard Jones and Ryan Burns, nod in agreement.
Robert: And what do you think of the contest so far? Anything you've got your eye on?
Bernard Jones: It's actually a pretty nice place. Reminds me of home a bit. Very welcoming, very pleasant and I'd be happy to come again.
Robert looks visibly stunned that anyone would actually want to come back.
Robert: Well... that's great. That's really... really... great. [Suddenly snapping back into character...] Anyway, as Sam said, you have a 20-point lead so far, do you think you can hold on to it?
Ryan Burns: I won't say we'll win for sure. We've got a good lead, but things may change. The points stream may trickle down until it goes dry other than short bursts or we end up getting plenty more points. It can go either way and I won't be upset if someone else wins instead of us.
Robert: Well, best of luck to you. Not that I want to be biased, but you're my favourite. [He points at Kalosia's entrant.] And so are you! [He points at Mister X's entrant.] And so are you! [He points at Malta Comino Gozo's entrant.] And so are you!

The camera pulls away as Robert keeps telling everyone how they're his favourite.

(Thank you to Elejamie for agreeing to be interviewed.)

A gentle zoom on Sam, standing at the desk.

Sam: Welcome back to the 77th WorldVision Song Contest, coming to you for the third time from Mister X. We now move on. I'm calling...

And now some RP post for fun. Along with some comical nonsense. And a bit of mature but pretty much tame stuff.

While the cameras were now off, both Jessica and Charlie were lounging in their hotel room near the stadium in Mister X as they watched the results being read by each nation. "Is this what you do after performances?" Charlie asked Jessica, as she was lying on her bed. "I do this stuff for fun, though I don't get far in the results. At least, you might make the middle of the list." Jessica explained to Charlie, as she scooted to where Charlie was lying, as she wrapped her arms around Charlie. "I did my best and had fun."
"Everyone back home has to vote for the other nations. We can't vote for ourselves, but at least people like your song."
"Oh Jessica.." Charlie put her arms around Jessica as well, where both of them started to blush a bit, until suddenly..

Erik Anderson bursted out from the hotel bathroom, where he was trying to sneak some of the hotel toiletries and other goodies in his coat. "Erik?! Do you mind?!" Jessica said, as both her and Charlie watched as he was making a mess and commotion in their room. "This shit isn't free back home! Now tell me where I can find some of those gay spiders I heard about in Hell? You are a demon after all."
"Are you..are you trying to offer yourself to demon prostitutes?"
"Bitch, I'm not the only sexual degenerate here! You're on top of that other lesbian, about to make a mess out of your own face! Don't pretend I'm the only closeted moron in Main Nation Ministry! ...Bitch." Erik said, as he exited the hotel room.

"Well, that was awkward- Oh, Jessica! You're.. you're grabbing me." Charlie immediately blushed as Jessica was already succumbing to lust. "If we're degenerates, I'm still want to pick you occupied until the final results come up." Jessica explained.
"I didn't know we were going to have sex."
"Charlie, please. We can do that stuff back home. We need just doing it safe for a while. I'm giving you another stretch, since it keeps the tension down."
"If it saves me from embarrassment." Charlie said, as both of them proceeded to kiss each other.

My overall account that I use for P2TM and even for international roleplaying! MNM is a mysterious and extremely dangerous dictatorship filled with supernatural oddities, demons, militarized soldiers everywhere, and a misanthropic nihilistic dictator who doesn't give a damn. It's basically if the SCP Foundation got mixed with 1984.
