You didn't use enough quotation marks there. I'm definitely not a diplomat. Diplomats, indeed, want to cut deals with monsters. International law types seek to lay down the law.

Then Trump really should not leave a burning wreckage, should he? We should not treat Trump like some force of nature without responsibility for his own actions. Any attempt to usurp the US constitution is treason, and he should be punished accordingly.

The same sort of person goes into both careers. If international law types seek to lay down the law, you've a very very poor record and extremely funny way of showing it!

When calculating plans to remove somebody from a position of power or even to accomplish a general objective, you look at the world as it is, not as you wish it to be. This may come as a surprise to you but one has to taken into account the probable actions of their enemy when aiming a killshot like this. This does not absolve Trump of his responsibility but I can see how somebody with less experience might believe so.

All these claims are base don decades of experience in the field, I imagine.
