Should zombies be granted rights?

Do zombies fit the criteria to be granted basic civil rights? I believe they do. What are your thoughts?

Zombies in most contexts are no more aware of their surroundings or capable of giving consent than living people in comas; arguably the same rights should be extended to each until retrieving them from their altered state becomes feasible.

Perhaps not...if zombies would have rights then nobody would be able to hurt/attack them, since they could (perhaps) have some troubles if the zombies are cured/defeated (since, y'know, assault is an offence).

If we follow the traditional definition of zombie (walking dead, etc.) then absolutely, categorically not. Dogs should have more rights. The only right a zombie should have is the right to be shot on sight - with caveats of scientific nature, of course.
