The Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft is a massive nation located mostly off the coast and deep in the heartland of the region of Antarctica. A massive population of 460 million people call Abanhfleft home, and they live in all sorts of environments from the urbanized Capital Islands to the frozen tundra and taiga of Fleftic Antarctica to the deserts of Mezaladbyi and the mountainous forests of the Fhulghamous Peninsula. People are all over the religious, political, and gender spectrums, and attitudes for other cultures, ideologies and sexualities are for the most part open.

For most of its history, Abanhfleft has been a nation at war, constantly seeking to expand its territory. These "wars of conquest" lasted until the 1980s with the Fleftic invasion of what is now Verbergerkinnh Province, and Abanhfleft has since moved on to more peaceful pursuits such as international sport. A longstanding issue that Fleftic politicians have had to contend with until now is the Mezaladbyi Insurgency, a decades-long rebellion initiated by a mysterious figure known only as "the Colonel" and the detonation of a dirty bomb in the old provincial capital of Sleeping River.

Abanhfleft follows a democratic bicameral system of government but the huge size of the Fleftic Congress lends itself easily to bureaucracy, and even non-controversial bills that would usually be passed within a matter of months or even weeks could take years to go through Congress and the Senate. Abanhfleft's currency is the new penenk, with a fixed exchange rate of 4.00 new penenks per NS dollar. The new penenk replaced the old penenk in 2010 after rampant inflation saw the devaluation of the old penenk to over 10 million old penenks per NSD. Hotels and accommodation in Abanhfleft are expected to have good cheap prices for foreign visitors but watch out for local scammers seeking to make quick bucks off of gullible foreigners.

LACROSSE IN ABANHFLEFT
Despite Abanhfleft's relative success in the field of lacrosse, the sport remains somewhat on the fringes of popularity. Although both men and women play lacrosse in the Democratic Republic, there is no doubt at all that the women's game is the more popular one in the country, although of course popular is a relative term. That being said, the Lacrosse League of Abanhfleft, the country's highest tier of domestic lacrosse, ranks sixth among the country's most attended leagues. The LLA started off as a league of all-female teams, with teams like the Markovsky Tsars and the Riuwiee Nighthawks attaining major successes in the league in its early days. Recently though, the LLA has integrated all-male teams into itself, the most notable of them being the Suwkpel Rush. All stadia to be used in the World Lacrosse Championships are home stadiums of teams playing in the Lacrosse League of Abanhfleft, although some of them share their grounds with teams from other sports.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL LACROSSE TEAM

This will be Abanhfleft's eleventh time participating in the World Lacrosse Championship, but this is also our first time hosting this competition. Has it really been ten editions since the Fleftics' debut? Time sure does fly fast. For reasons that can be simply summed up as "it's the best thing we've done in a while," the Democratic Republic sent forth their women's national lacrosse team for their first seven appearances in the competition. The women's team, led by the "Fearsome Threesome" of Menan Alrisheb, Fatima Alsambis, and Cecilia Cuvimi, managed to win third place in their first ever tournament WLC XIX, beating the Serbian Empire to nab the bronze from under the veteran nation's noses. They went on to win back-to-back titles in WLC 22 and WLC 23 before a miserable performance in WLC 24 saw them eliminated in the group stage, but they have come back to win it all once again in WLC 25 to set history as the first nation to win three titles in four attempts. It was then decided that it was time to switch things up, and so for the first time in WLC history, Abanhfleft sent forth a mixed team of men and women to play international lacrosse in WLC 30. And they came close, but were still unable to snag the ultimate prize, losing to the eventual winners Wrexwic in the final. Now, with Wrexwic out of the way, Abanhfleft will hope to improve yet again upon their WLC 30 performance with a title win. For the fans!

The history of lacrosse in Abanhfleft is both long and short, in that it has been in the country for a long time, but a concise summary of said history can be written down in just ten to fifteen sentences or maybe more. Lacross was introduced in Abanhfleft by vacationing Canadian college students and expatriates who missed playing the game. The first truly Fleftic lacrosse players came from association football and field hockey backgrounds, and these players played in seasonal lacrosse clubs to augment their salaries during their respective sports' offseasons. The first national lacrosse league in Abanhfleft was established in 1929, and was composed of 7 teams coming from the Capital Islands. The Fleftic national lacrosse league system adopted its current franchise format in 2001, with the National League (now called the Lacrosse League of Abanhfleft) separating itself from the pyramid and becoming an independent organization of its own right. The Fleftic Lacrosse Federation (Samahang Lakros ng Abanhfleft or SLA) was established in 1930 to manage the leagues, and to see to the creation of a national team. The Abanhfleft men's national lacrosse team played its first game in 1931, where they lost 1-0 to a team of Montreal college players.

1963 saw the first attempts to introduce women's lacrosse into Abanhfleft. Women's lacrosse had vastly different rules from men's lacrosse, and while these programs saw some success in the mid-sixties, Fleftic women decided that the rules of women's lacrosse were "too soft," and simply adopted the rules of men's lacrosse. When the women's national lacrosse team played its first games in 1969, they surprised many other teams with their extremely aggressive style of play, the likes of which were more usually seen in men's lacrosse games. This led to many incidents of broken legs, broken arms, broken ribs, broken jaws, and so on and so forth. Eventually, the SLA established another women's team, this one focusing on women's lacrosse rules. Teams playing Abanhfleft are well-advised to treat the women like men because the girls will certainly treat their opponents like Fleftic men.

They have won three World Lacrosse Championships, winning in WLC 22, 23, and 25. Starting in WLC 26, the team entered a rebuilding stage in which it maintained its ranking in the multiverse as much as possible without really challenging for the title. But in WLC 30, the SLA declared the rebuilding done, and the national team backed up this announcement with a deep playoff run that went all the way to the final, where they were unfortunately stopped by Wrexwic. But as had been said before, with Wrexwic now inexplicably out of the way, Abanhfleft sets its eyes once again on the gold. Will this team finally be able to win it? Or will they have to wait once again?

Head Coach: Watch this space

Assistant Coach - Tactics: Tim Blyther (53, male)
Blyther is an Australian who played lacrosse in Abanhfleft's Lacrosse Premier League for almost fifteen years, eventually retiring in 2009 with five championships under his belt. Blyther is also a fan of association football, and was the mastermind of adapting some of that's sports tactics into lacrosse, and this combination of lacrosse and football helped lead the Releinthi Fighting Sticks to three consecutive championships in the Lacrosse Premier League. Being the inventor and innovator of FootCrosse (the combination of football and lacrosse tactics), Blyther was invited by the FFoL to be both national teams' tactics coach, but this will be the first time that FootCrosse will be seen on the world stage, and how Abanhfleft will perform in this tournament will determine the viability of FootCrosse on the international lacrosse scene.

Assistant Coach - Training: Chan Lua (67, male)
A popular aerobics instructor back in the 1980s, Chan Lua was hired by the FFoL in 2012 for a yearly salary of 2 million new penenks, one of the largest yearly salaries ever in the federation. Lua's job will be to increase and enhance the players' fitness levels. Lua's hiring, which had been a controversial decision at the time, eventually paid off when both national teams' starting lineups lasted much longer on the field than their opponents. Observers keen to gauge this side will look to Lua's contributions to the effectiveness of the national side. In his spare time, when he is not the fitness coach of the Fleftic women's national lacrosse team, he is the fitness coach of the Fhulghamous Peninsula national football team.

Style: Abanhfleft is an attacking team. The legacy of football and hockey players dabbling in lacrosse in its early days in Abanhfleft has resulted in a playing style that emphasizes getting the ball up front for chances to score. This, however, leaves the defense a bit thin, as at least two midfielders join the attackers in forays up to the goal, leaving behind only the defenders and the keeper. The midfield makes up for this by rushing back to their positions as soon as the opponents have acquired the ball.

THE SARI UNION
De Bondsaari
NATIONAL LACROSSE TEAM
Nationaal Lacroseteam

With a not insignificant following in the domestic market, including a six team semi-professional league, it is only natural that Sari Lacrosse (lacrose) looked to re-enter international competition after an absence of several hundred Bondjaars1. Having not faced international competition in such a long time, internal predictions for the team's success are low. However, with a bit of luck, anything is possible.

1 Due to the unusual orbit of the Sari home planet, the standard unit of measurement is the Bondjaar. This represents five-thousand hours and not a full orbit of a star.

Roster
ordered in likelihood to start. Age and gender in brackets.

To outsiders, names in The Sarian may appear slightly bizarre. Historically, a surname was linked to someone's place of birth thus the custom became to give children 'unique' names to distinguish them. Nowadays, a parent can select any surname they desire. This has created a mix of traditional Sari surnames (which can usually be distinguished through the v' or f'), names passed through families through generations or just about anything! However, the tradition of a 'unique' first name has largely survived and people are rarely referred to in reference to their surname.

After the failures of the 28th and 29th World Lacrosse Championships, and especially the 29th edition where Banija got eliminated in the group stages of the WLCs for the first time ever, everything was torn down. The Olympic Committee of Banija seized control, and voted the sport's independent governing body(a rarity in Banija) out of existence. Various reforms were introduced. Chief among them- rid themselves of those who failed. The entire coaching staff was purged, and with it, not a single player who was on the WLC 28 or 29 roster was invited back to form the WLC 30 roster. Those high up in Banija called the WLC 29 group stage elimination, on home soil, of a nation that considered themselves an international lacrosse powerhouse an 'absolute embarassment to the country' and vowed for deep reforms to ensure that this did not ever happen again.

This, of course, happened before the 30th WLCs, in Cassadaigua. The Banijans were able to escape the group stage, once again, but fell to an ancient power in this sport- Sarzonia, by a score of 10-9, in the Round of 16. It was followed by a disappointing entry at the Champions Challengers Cup, where they fell to both Baker Park and Sarzonia in West Guiana, to finish 0-2. In the 31st WLCs, the Banijans finally overcame recent struggles by geting back to where they felt they belonged, the semifinals, though they fell at that stage in Baker Park. They hope to finally win the title on the home soil of their greatest rivals, Abanhfleft.

Style: 0 (balanced between attack-minded and defensive)
Home grounds: Franz Braddock Stadium in Woodstock, capacity 35,000.
Please note: This team is renowned for its fair play. If you attack first, it will retaliate, but it will not initiate a fight.

OOC: I RP using real time in most of my RPs, so in Sarzonia, it’s only been about five months since the last World Lacrosse Championships.

Coach: Carter Whitlock (38 years old)
Sarzonia’s greatest lacrosse player and the first Sarzonian nominated for the Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Whitlock assumes the coaching reins from Mike Sandusky. An illustrious playing career that led to five World Lacrosse Championship titles and eight medals overall has Sarzonian lacrosse fans optimistic that Whitlock can recapture the magic from the sidelines he so often helped to create on the field.
Defensive Coordinator: Bill Harbour (37 years old)
A teammate of Whitlock’s, Harbour’s defence was critical for the Stars in their last WLC final, when they defeated Delaclava 14-8 in Licentiapacisterra nearly five years ago. He signed on as an assistant coach after his playing career came to an end.
Offensive Coordinator: Tyler Pawlenty (51 years old)
Pawlenty helped mold offenses in college, in particular Rypien State College during a four-year period when that school won three collegiate national titles. His teams emphasise possession and patience, often including multiple passes before taking the perfect shot.
Assistant Coach: George Tomlin (35 years old)
Tomlin recently retired as a faceoff specialist after a collegiate career that saw him win 78 percent of his faceoffs. During his professional career in Sarzonia, he won 69 percent of his faceoffs. He can coach multiple styles of faceoffs, taking into account multiple fogos.
Assistant Coach: Bradley Morse (55 years old)
Serves as goalie coach. He helped several Sarzonian World Lacrosse Championship winning teams with goalies in an informal capacity. Now, he's coming out of retirement to provide assistance as a paid full-time coach after Whitlock convinced him to do so.

Starting 10:
G: Marla Wynne - 5-foot-8, 145 pounds, 34 years old
D: Bruce Taylor - 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, 24 years old

The Commonwealth of Baker Park National Lacrosse Team has seen many positive developments since it first took the field in the WLC XXIX, and now in it's fourth appearance here, there is an even broader change on the lacrosse landscape in the country.

Following the success of the Commonwealth's hosting of WLC XXI, there has been a change in the overall governance of the sport; the Universities Athletics Coalition generously stepped away from its role as the official sponsor in favor of the Baker Park Lacrosse Association (BPLA), established in the aftermath of the last WLC. The BPLA has been welcomed into the Olympic Committee of the Commonwealth (OCC), as well as the World Lacrosse Council. The move to separate governance has allowed the national team to pursue a more professional course for the players. In addition, there are plans to begin development of the sport domestically for males, beginning at the 10-11 year old level.

Veteran coach Hal Covington returns for a second stint as head coach, assisted once again by Rob Petrucelli, Jacie Wilson, and former national team player Shannon Fries.

Home Stadium: Strawbridge Stadium
Capacity: 30,000
Location: Southline, Wrexwic

The motto in Southline is 'Just as good as the Mainland'. Many Wrex citizens here have a rivalry with the large Vannish continent just 500 miles across the ocean. Some resent the Vannish Empire for many reasons. Others are proud to be such a vital part of its history. Just like Emeros and blue Coast, there is plenty of entertainment to be found in Southline.

There will be a great climate for tourists and players to explore. Local laws are pretty lax in certain areas, creating a rather free environment. Things seem slightly less refined than they do in Vangaziland. The buses have a rougher ride and aren't as prompt. The pace everywhere seems more relaxed.

Strawbridge Stadium is known for its soft grass field. Ground balls will travel quickly on the well maintained surface. Players should be able to get their best traction, leading to harder hits and faster runs. The crowd is also known to be loud. A few blocks down the road from Strawbridge is a large casino hotel known as the Bee's Nest. Wasps, bees and hornets are important national animals of Wrexwic. This is where the team get's the nickname 'Wrexwic Wasps'.

Dominant Face-Off Performance leads Aimena past Cassadaigua

Attackman Icodillion exploded offensively in crucial moments, raking in a game-high five points. Critics say that the young-blooded attacking three may be helping Aimena's chances of winning.

Junior face-off specialist Pierre de Fermat held possession for the Waltzers in a 13-8 win against Cassadaigua. Fermat also won 22 out of 25 face-offs in which the dominant possession helped answer Cassadaigua's frequent offensive outbursts.

Possession is one of the most important keys to the game, so the capability for me to get my team the ball as many times as I did, it’s just helping out the offense, it’s giving them opportunities against a very good defending field,” Fermat stated. “So I just try to help as much as I can to get them the ball.”

BP Lax opens WLC with win
by Sandra Gerrard
The Post Staff Correspondent

The Baker Park National Lacrosse Team opened their fixture list at the 32nd World Championships with an impressive 10-1 win over Furby Island in the nightcap at National Book Store Stadium in Haranguer in front of 17,000.

Sydney Moyer, Morgan Bohmenstiehl and Mary McEnerny all scored a brace and Riley Etterman added another as the forward line picked up where they left off in the previous edition of the WLC on home soil.

The other scorers were Kasie Neilson, Grace Greene, Kellyann Poseluzny and Danielle Manning. Teresa Petruccelli made 4 saves as the defense dictacted much of the play against the newcomers.

Next up will be the defending Bronze medalists from WLC 31, Banija, who come in to the match having been victimized by another newcomer, The Sarian, 13-5 in the opening match.

Head Coach Hal Covington mentioned he has a good feeling about this tournament. "Remember that our (Under 18) youth soccer team won a tournament here. I think we might be able to get a bit of inspiration from that."

The Lacrosse Lamentations
with Aisling Keane

Okay. So all this explains the sudden influx of tourists, and lacrosse-obsessed ones at that, The World Lacrosse Championships are back, and apparently we, Abanhfleft, have been chosen as hosts. I don't even know how we did it. I am almost absolutely certain that a certain amount of moolah was involved. Now, 27 teams and their associated fans descend upon the Democratic Republic, but now how are they supposed to tell apart the host cities from one another? Well, fear not, my lacrosse-loving friends, for little Aisling here has brought you...

Aisling Keane's Unofficial Tourist Guide to Abanhfleft
(World Lacrosse Championships Edition)

Seven cities, seven stadiums. Think you've got what it takes to go to them all? Well, no matter what, I like your determination. Let's go through all seven host cities one by one, shall we?

1. Markovsky
Image

Ah, Markovsky. The City of Contrasts. Where the forests and the deserts come to meet. My hometown. To be completely honest, there's nothing much that Markovsky offers up to the casual tourist to visit except maybe the old Orthodox cathedral inside the old Russian colonial fort. Of course, if you're a football aficionado then it's the Stadium of the Old Forester for you, and if you want to visit Landmark Stadium then you have absolutely no taste in football teams. It also happens that the Old Forester is also one of the host stadiums for the 32nd World Lacrosse Championships, so if you're here for the WLC then you're in luck. The Markovsky Metro connects Andrey Bolkonsky Airport to the Old Forester, but for the quickest route make sure to get on the Yellow Line. Remember, Yellow Line is the quickest way from the airport to the Old Forester Stadium. And if you're coming in by train then I don't know what the heck is wrong with you.

2. Suwkpel
Image

Next we come to Suwkpel. Situated on the edges of Berkner Bay, Suwkpel is home to almost 60 percent of Abanhfleft's banana plantations. This has earned it the nickname "The Plantain City" (although if I remember correctly the Cavendish and Lakatan varieties have begun outgrowing and outselling the plantains in recent years). If you're an aviation enthusiast then you will probably know about how the NLighten Arena is one of the best plane-spotting places in the country as it's right underneath the path of the glideslope to Runway 34 of Suwkpel's Adolfo Benedicto Varela International Airport. NLighten Arena itself is just a thirty-minute bus ride away from the airport, although that's if the traffic is perfectly fine and there are no jams. And if you are coming to Suwkpel by train then you are a masochist.

3. Marble Arch
Image

The story goes that when the second wave of colonists arrived at the eastern shore of the Fhulghamous Peninsula looking for a place to settle, they found this great big arch made of marble just sticking out in the middle of the desert shore. It definitely looks manmade and dates back to around only the last century so it's not something that the ancient aliens people can tack on to their stupid theory. But still, no one can explain what the fuck a marble arch is doing in the middle of nowhere. But since the place appeared to be a good place to establish a second settlement, the colonists landed there anyway, and the rest is history. Getting to Marble Arch is actually pretty difficult; there's an airport and semi-regular service between the Arch and Port Thim but, for the first time in a little while, I'll say that taking the train is the much better way. There are buses and taxis available to take you to the November 30 Stadium but I recommend taking a taxi (even though there is a high possibility that the driver might overcharge you, especially if you're a foreigner) because the bus route is not the best or most direct way between the train station and the stadium. You've been warned.

4. Haranguer
Image

It's hard to imagine anything being able to survive in the middle of the hot and arid Myleishi Plateau, and yet there sits Haranguer, defying all the odds and practically holding up two middle fingers at Mother Nature. A motley collection of adobe, concrete and steel jutting out in the middle of all the red sandstone. Now that we're back in the mainland, air travel is once again the quickest and easiest way to get to Haranguer, and there is an absolute mob of taxis waiting in front of the airport terminal to take you to the National Book Store Stadium, which unfortunately happens to be on the complete opposite end of town from the airport. As always, the warning against overcharging taxi drivers applies.

5. Releinthi
Image

The first of two Capital Islands to play host to the World Lacrosse Championships. Once you see the picture above, you will wonder how in the world 7 million people managed to squeeze into that tiny space and call it home. And it's not as full of high-rise buildings as you might think, so where in the world are all these people finding the space? It's so cramped that the airport has to be put on an artificial island, but at least there's only one metro line running from Releinthi International Airport into the island itself. You will however want to change over from the Brown Line to the White Line once you get to Pentecost Station because that is the only way that you can get to the Santa Filomena Station on the opposite corner to McNaughton Park. Taking a bus or a taxi is not, I repeat, not recommended.

6. Riuwiee
Image

Ah, Riuwiee, Riuwiee, The capital of our mighty nation, our Democratic Republic. How you can pack 12 million people in an area just over 600 square kilometers is nothing short of marvelous. It's so densely packed that sometimes the key to getting to your Riuwiee destination quickly is to land at the appropriate airport. If you're going down to Police Field then Riuwiee East Airport (officially the Maximus Artherosclerius International Airport) is the one where you should aim to land. After that it should just be a twenty-minute metro ride from Riuwiee East Station on the Purple Line to Wendigo Avenue Station, from which Police Field is just two blocks away. Remember to take the Purple Line to Wendigo; otherwise the Green Line will take you on the complete opposite direction. And don't even think about taking a bus or a taxi; the traffic jams will destroy your very soul (just as it has destroyed many a Fleftic soul).

7. Jasvirabad
Image

And last but not the least, we have Jasvirabad, the other host city located in a Fleftic colony. This one is over in Trendstart''s Antslinngs Islands, and because of its proximity to Trendstart's capital Vikrant, I recommend taking a flight to Vikrant and then boarding a train for Jasvirabad. The upside? You get to have a spectacular view of the train passing over these narrow bridges across the isles that are barely just the rails on girders themselves. The downside? The motorized rickshaw drivers over there are some of the most reckless to have ever existed, and that's saying something because drivers are pretty reckless over here in Abanhfleft.

And there's your unofficial tourist guide to the WLC host cities in Abanhfleft. Good luck, don't get lost, and especially don't get mugged off.

Postby Sarzonia » Mon Oct 28, 2019 4:22 pm

The ride back to the team hotel after Sarzonia's 13-5 shellacking at the hands of Vangaziland could have been a sombre affair, except for one thing.

Carter Whitlock's pants ripped rather loudly as the coach boarded the bus. Then the strap on his carry-on luggage snapped off completely.

Players who might otherwise have been nervously holding in their laughter to prevent a tirade from Whitlock suddenly burst into loud, sustained laughter as Whitlock's dour expression broke with a couple of awkward chuckles. Then the entire bus cracked up.

Sarzonia (1-1) were now minus-six in goal differential after the first two matchdays and now were forced to rebound against HUElavia, a newcomer to the lacrosse world.

Even though HUElavia were making their World Lacrosse Championships debut and were 0-2 after an overtime defeat to Devonta and a three-goal defeat to the same Vangaziland side that battered them.

Still, the team kept laughing and joking about Whitlock's pants, which betrayed the pink underwear he'd been forced to don as a lost bet to defensive coordinator Bill Harbour.

The team could use the chance to forget about the defensive breakdowns that led Vangaziland to a 10-goal first quarter and an 11-2 lead at halftime. They could forget about the fact that Marla Wynne was chased after the unfortunate first quarter and was substituted out in favour of Chris Hanley, making his debut on the world lacrosse stage. They would later see Hanley make four saves and control the net in ways that Wynne failed to against Vangaziland.

They still saw Wynne play to her potential against Devonta, as Sarzonia's defence clamped down late and stifled a potential Devonta rally after the Stars took an 8-4 lead into the fourth quarter. She led the way with seven saves there, while Matt Archer scored twice and assisted on three goals in the opener.

For now, however, Whitlock had more pressing concerns than deciding which of his two goalkeepers would get the start against HUElavia. He had more on his plate than working with Harbour to shore up a defence that looked terrible against the kind of team the Stars absolutely had to beat if they're going to advance in the tournament.

He had to find a tailor who would be able to fix his pants or find a store where he could buy a replacement pair. And he would have to stop making bets with his old teammates about wearing funny underwear.

At least it was good for a few laughs.

Ms. T: Man Found Having Tea Party With Horse Again

When Lief-Gilm V'Bonstad resigned from the National Liberal Coaltion caucus three bondmaand ago on health grounds, De Telegraaf exclusivley revelead the extent of his psychedelic drug use - going too far even for the NLC leadership to continue to tolerate. Though the story was denied at the time, the former Union Delegate was forced to confess after being found naked with a teapot in his local stable.

At the time, Lief-Gilm told De Telegraaf that he was committed to recovery and would be going into rehabilitation. However, he has once again been caught in the mist of 'tea party', claiming he was undertaking a diplomatic mission. That he was attempting to converse with a thorough-bred alizan stallion, known more for their showjumping prowess than conversation ability, was lost on the drugged-up former Liberal. Ms. T hopes understands the scones, nevertheless, went down a treat...

A spokesperson for the NLC refused to comment, though later added that they hoped Lief-Gilm would get the help he needed. I'll say...

De Telegraaf is the best selling tabloid-newspaper in the Sari Union. Though it currently prints in the capital of Bondstad, it originates from the city of Schapenhue and has a reputation for maintaining a provincial affect in its reporting. Catering largely to a working class audience, the paper is a vocal supporter of the populist Florican Party and has recently faced legal trouble for a series sensationalist stories about members of the National Liberal Coalition. Nevertheless, the popularity of the tabloid has ensured that it continues to set the agenda every weekday morning.

Ms T is the anonymous Gossip Column, now in it's 44th Bondjaar.

BP drop close game to Banija
by Sandra Gerrard
The Post Staff Correspondent

It's difficult to say order was restored on Day 2 of the World Lacrosse Championships, unless one was a supporter of the Banijan National Team.

A close affair saw Baker Park drop a 12-10 decision at the National Bookstore Stadium to the Banijans; both teams now have split their opening contests, and sit behind Group D leaders The Sarian (incorrectly identified as newcomers in this publication earlier, they have in fact hosted the WLC on two occasions and finished 3rd).

The contest was probably a fair representation of the sides' strengths--Banija returned to form after a poor match in their previous outing and BP settled back after a dominant performance over a Furby Island team that offered little resistance.

There remains a game against the leaders and the return fixtures, so there is still all to play for at this point.
