A bit about Xanneria

https://i.imgur.com/yOdBIdp.jpg

INFO

Xanneria is a large but reltively isolated nation on a continental island west of Ethane, and when we say west its WAY west. Over a thousand miles west, the nation is so remote from the rest of Esportiva, that most contemporary cartographers leave out Xanneria from the map. Most Xannerians trace their roots from the now defunct nation of Tonissia. While the explorer DOminic Anneria was exploring the region he made maps of the area, but because one of the maps contained a random "X" to close to the his last name the name of the nation "Xanneria" was born out of this typo. Most of the Xannerian population is in the south of the country. Major cities such as York, Pearlham, Beardin and Hawthorne are located in the southern portion of the nation. the fathur north you go the mode spare the population gets. While population does get more sprse the farther north you go, there are still a few population centers such as Ropewood, Port Chelias, and Churchill. The sparsness of the are, especially when you talk about northwest Xanneria is due to a large timber industry that has been thriving up north. Timber is no longer the only industrial king in Xanneria. Fifty years ago, mining deposites of several minerals were discovered in the northern regions of Xanneria. Bauxite, Coal and Iron Ore have strengthened the industrial might of the nation. In fact the town of Bauxintown went from being founded 50 years ago, the having a population of 275,000. The growth of natural resources in Xanneria has been that intense. Travel should be no issue for internationals. Xanneria does everything it can to protect its people, but does so in a way that wont interviene with foreigners who want to be a part of the country. With a population in the billions, Xanneria is large, but non exclusive.

FORMAT

because Newmanistan and Xanneria originally sent seperate bids, before merging them together, the Xannerian side will play slightly different than the Newmanistan side.

DAY 1 - Both games in the group will be played in the same stadium on the same day. One game will be played at 11AM regional time, while the other game will be played at 7PM regional time that night.

DAY 2 - Same format as above but in a different nearbye stadium.

DAY 3 - In order to keep teams from collusion, the final game will be split, with two teams heading back to the stadium used in matchday one, while the other two teams will stay in the city they played match day two in and play their game once again in that stadium. Both games will kick off at the exact same time in hopes neither team can collude, having known the result of the other pairs team. So in this way we think it should be the most fair.

NEWMANISTAN ROCKETS

OFFICIAL ROSTER

Starters:
GK: #1- Ryan McNamara (24, Tundra Falls Mariners)
– A taller keeper that prefers to rely on instincts. Is often aggressive towards the shooter, and this has seen him have success, especially while at the Proving Grounds. He is not as successful in road games, but is still considered the best keeper in the nation.

LB: #2- Tim Marley (26, Jessicaville Millionaires)
– An average frame, but an overall high work ethic. Very good with his overall positioning, and is not often going to be faked out by an opponent. Though he can be outmuscled.

LCB: #4- Scott Corellis (26, Pocono City Capitals)
– Complements Marley in that he is the strength on the left side of the defense. That is the thought process anyway, because these two have never actually played together before.

RCB: #5- Adrian O’Bryan (29, Loudon Leopards)
– An intelligent defender, but sometimes a little too overconfident. While he knows the game very well, and is very studious when watching game tape in preparation, he trusts himself a little too much.

RB: #3- Shawn Stoddard (24, Centralia Cougars)
– While Corellis is a strong player, Stoddard is the most physical of the group. He will not be shy to be aggressive towards the opponent and figures to lead the club in bookings. A fan favorite in Centralia.

LM: #8- Jorge Cortez (25, Pocono City Capitals)
– Excellent two way player, that will both score goals and be one of the first ones back to defend. He has very good chemistry at home with Scott Corellis, and it should be expected that they will hook up once or twice for a goal.

CM: #9- Tyrone Vannella (27, Springfield Thoroughbreds)
– Has blazing speed and a ton of talent. Unfortunately, he is also known to be an arrogant player, and some players on the team might not be thrilled he is on the team. He’ll be the last one to show up at practice, and the first to leave. Not a fan friendly player, either.

RM: #12- Jarrell Connolly (25, Putnam Lake Eagles)
– Playing in Putnam Lake, where soccer is the most popular within Newmanistan, Connolly has a lot of pressure on him. Thankfully, he has always been able to handle that. He’s played with Vannella before, and despite their differing personalities, they have been known to play well together.

LS: #10- Brent Chapman (23, Tundra Falls Mariners)
– Has a hard shot and is very accurate with it. He’s not going to do much else for the team, though. Can be beaten by a strong defender.

ST: #15- Jerome Beyer (26, South Charlotte Condors)
– An astute passer, Beyer will be looking to set up either Chapman or Schaefer, or another Rocket more then he will be looking to put shots on goal himself. Very creative with the ball and getting by defenders.

RS: #11- Derek Schaefer (25, Southport Tigers)
– Figures to be the team leader in goals. While Chapman has a harder and more accurate shot, Schaefer has more overall skill that will allow him to get more shots on net. He’s no slouch with his shot power or accuracy either, though.

Regular Substitutes:
GK: #21- Aaron Scarpa (29, North Charlotte Wildcats)
CB: #6- Calvin Douglas (26, South Tier Seagulls)
CB: #7- Thomas Caprotti (25, Loudon Leopards)
MID: #13- Dirk Donato (26, Dover City Mountaineers)
MID: #17- Samantha Paschke (28, Olympia Gladiators)
ST: #14- Jimmy Halligan (25, Jessicaville Millionaires)
ST: #16- Antonio Cruz (22, Penthoria Riverman)

Reserves:
GK: #25- Jesse Gallant (26, Olympia Gladiators)
CB: #22- Edward Molander (29, Springfield Thoroughbreds)
CB: #23- Eli Watson (24, Brighton Bulls)
MID: #18- Peyton McLeod (24, Nashua Broncos)
MID: #26- Saquon Shields (26, Loudon Leopards)
ST: #19- John Baker (25, Pocono City Capitals)
ST: #24- Shane Shuster (18, Daytopia Racers)

Manager- Miguel Hernandez (49, Jessicaville Millionaires)
Formation: 4-3-3
Skill Modifier: +1
Uniforms: Home- Sky blue with white trim; Away- Black with sky blue trim; Keeper- Yellow with sky blue trim. If conflict- White with sky blue trim

Changes coming to Maroons, Changes that start now
By Steve Stevenson

XANNERIA - For the longest time the Maroons have kept a very steady roster in the last six years. But the winds pick up over the dairylands and those winds bring change. Xanneria is know for the bortherly tandem of Glenn and Mark Hailey. Mark will be 34 while Glenn is pushing the scholarly age of 37. THis means huge changes are coming to the roster, especially now when depth will be needed and tested to see who becomes a starter for the Maroons in future endeavours. While the forwards should be in good hands with Devonelle Laymore (Who finally signed with a domestic club, joining the York Metrostars, a team in which he hopes to raise back up into the Omega ranks. He will have 27 year old Richard Presintino, Travellin' Pete Saigon and young 24 year old Henry Clayton-Thorn joining him. Ricky Bryan, after his huge stink in Apox is no longer on the national team, instead of showing off in the qualifiers, he ended up making himself into a real fool, getting in uneeded fights and making several key misses. He now is playing for Appalachian Second Division team Locomotive Eire a much less glamorous team than he had been playing for int he past. Young buck Lane Stegall and vet Mark Hailey will be the Midfielders. Both are as talented of a defender as a striker. They will carry the tradition of Xannerian mids playing "full field footy". The defense is lead by Marcus Davidson who rose up the depth chart with his stellar play at zeltown got him noticed and he garned a deal with East End FC where teammate and fellow international Shane McCormick plays. A new Goalie is in place as starter. Dom Brabham, a special talent rising up the ranks with Mainland FC is the new goalie ans Varg Miller will still retain a spot on the team, but Evan Jefferson's retirement has opened a spot and none-other than Brabham has shown off the skill necessary to go international.

One other item of note to talk about. While the Stadium list has not been publicly listed, a leak recently put Downtown Stadium on the list. On paper a 40,000 seat stadium in the heart of the agrarian south of Xanneria sounds good, but then you take a look at the stadium closer. Notoriously bad turf is a good place to start. Along side brutalist, cookie-cutter design and poor field sight-lines, the stadium has long been thought of as the reason St Geoffreystown has failed to secure good free agents. With Turf that feels like concrete it could take some of the international players by surprises, especially with the stadium having torn of several players knees. It is still to be seen weather the stadium does get put int he short list of six stadiums used by the FLOX for their end of the Tournament. But if so, ya'll should look out world.

XANAir National Stadium II:
(Image)
XANAir II is a new state of the art Stadium in downtown Dominica City. Built after the original Stadium was demolished due to cracks forming int he foundation, this stadium is home to both Capital FC and GTHe National Team. It will be a sight to behold as it will also be hosting playoff games.

NOTE TO THOSE RPING A GAME VERUS XANERRIA

Xannerian Football is played differently than most countries. For one it is hyper offensive with most teams using either 4 or 5 forwards who run directly at the goal with balls being passed only when necessary. Defense is even more alarmingly different as Xanneria RARELY calls penelties on diving (unless injuries occur) and its actually common for players to attempt to bump other players out of the way, granted this is also heavily moderated (Shoving a player with your hands is a penalty and shoving a player perpendicular to you is also a penalty). International players are trying to surpress excessive brutality, but sometimes in the heat of the game they forget. So feel free to have some of my players get Yellow carded for aggressive play.

SQUAD ANNOUNCED FOR ROSS ISLES' FIRST MATCH IN CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA

SOUTHPORT, NEWMANISTAN - Ross Isles national soccer team manager, Neil Walters, announced his squad for Saturday's match in Southport, Newmanistan against Fhulghamous Peninsula. As a newcomer to the tournament and international soccer in general, the Ross Isles outfit is not expected to produce any major upsets, but Walters also made it clear that his squad are relishing their debut in international competition and that he believes in their potential to create some trouble for the more established sides in the tournament. Walters commented that "we're a new team in this competition, but we've got some real talent and throughout our training camp I made it clear to the boys that I want us to get past the group stage, which I really believe to be an achievable goal for us. Once we're out of the group, who knows what will happen next?" Walters is clearly optimistic about his team and there is some reason to believe that this optimism may be well-founded, as he has a long-standing working relationship with the majority of his players, who also ply their trade at this season's Dominion League champions, St Albans. The Ross Isles squad for the Campionato Esportiva is below:

GK - (#1) Hugh Youngs (C) - St Albans
RB - (#2) Michael Mayer - Neuhannover
CB - (#3) Sam O'Reilly - St Albans
CB - (#4) Tom O'Reilly - St Albans
CB - (#5) Bailey Price - Southern Isles
LB - (#6) Callum Williams - Prince of Wales County
CDM - (#7) Sebastian Schmidt - Neuhannover
RM - (#9) Will Sullivan - Northern Coast

CAM - (#8) Ollie Bryant - Port Harrington
ST - (#10) Rob Nolan - St Albans

GK - (#31) Josef Zuber - Neuhannover
CB - (#13) Paul Irving - Southern Isles
CB - (#15) Theo Banks - University
LB - (#16) Colm O'Mahony - Combined Services
CDM - (#17) Michael Welch - St Albans

APOX CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA 25 SQUAD

Manager: Image Lunar Dusk, Aged: 46
Assistant Manager: Image Sverre Devold, Aged: 48

Spiel: Lunar Dusk was unlucky to draw twice defending champions Vilita in the Round of 16 in the World Cup, and they took the fight to them (continuing the frequent trend of Apoxian sides drawing one of the best in the multiverse in the Round of 16). Not to worry though, as it is an experienced team which is dispatched to Newmanistan and Xanneria for the Campionato. As always, the team is expected to challenge seriously for the title, but should that not happen it won't be a disaster for Lunar Dusk - the strong positive direction of the team and it's play during the last World Cup ensures at least one more crack at it.

Formation
Image
Lunar Dusk has decided to keep a similar system to her predecessor Luxulya St. Cleer with the team lining up in a fluid 4-3-3 formation, with fast wingers augmenting creative midfielders in the centre of midfield. Up front, Marcy Blake-Tatum is the woman of the moment and the nation is hoping this will be her breakout tournament in an Apoxian shirt. All this, built on a solid defensive formation, covered by the essential defensive midfielder.

LUIS SILVA COMPLETES TRANSFER TO NORTH KAZAMA UNITED

Image

Right in the middle of the "Hinodejin Scare" as dubbed by the fans and media as a result of the defeat in the previous Campionato Esportiva and the recent transfer bids for Dreamplanetian players by Hinodejin clubs, Luis Silva has completed a N$40 million move to Hinodejin club North Kazama United after a move to AC 317 Roses ended with a pretty underwhelming 9 goals for the Dreamplanetian captain, Luis Silva said in an interview that he was "pleased to have a completely new challenge with a completely new culture, even if it is one that is currently under attack back home" which echoes the current frenzy in Dreamplanetian football of players leaving to Kita-Hinode which even reached parliament as Vice President Carlos Alves's joking comments of "stealing" the Campionato Esportiva and the youth players and even suggesting that "athletes should have a bucket filled with water" for protection against "cat-based monstrosities" have put him under criticism from left-wing politicians and even the former President, Simão Silva, possibly indicating this scare being a part of a right vs left wing debate, more than just football.

The Dreamplanetian populace's love of Luis Silva was put to the test with this transfer to North Kazama United, in yet another poll, 73% of Dreamplanetians surveyed said that the move to North Kazama United was a bad move, North Kazama United placed 14th in the KiHi-League, they will be hoping that the veteran goalscorer will be able to lead them to the promised land of UICA competitions, although many fans think that he deserves better and that he shouldn't have left AC 317 Roses that competes for titles in Velestria or maybe even a return home as Sporting CD's recent destruction against Trebuchet Cham showed that they are in dire need of a good attacker, either way they will be hoping that their national hero and icon doesn't get beaten by the dog-based players of Yunogami Poundies and the much-hated cat-based players of Taokaka Daito which got recently promoted to the second division, in the event of Luis Silva's side and Taokaka meeting, possibly in the The Jewel of the Déesse, Kita-Hinode's domestic cup or in the top division if Taokaka get to promote, fans have stressed that defeat against them is not an option as it could put national reputation (and pride) on the line as a result of the cultural difference, Dreamplanetians know the culture difference and they do not want their star man to be beaten by such "monstrosities" or "freaks" as the public say.

As Luis Silva is approaching 100 goals for Dreamplanet, it is already certain that he will be one of the greatest Dreamplanetian players, if not the best ever, but the Hinodejin Scare doesn't just apply to Luis Silva, but it originated from Project Olimpo wanting to purchase Miguel Benedito, the captain of the high-flying Dreamplanetian U21 squad alongside other players like José Costa, Duarte Henriques, Antonio Bento, José Fontes, Rui Sousa and Rafael Torres which are all playing at the Di Bradini Cup in Valanora, Project Olimpo might sign these players permanently or as loans, it is unknown but their interest has become public knowledge as reported by The Sunrise Club's Digest, a Hinodejin news site.

In other news:
DREAMPLANET IN TIGHT GROUP FOR CE25

The group stage draw for the upcoming Campionato Esportiva in Newmanistan and Xanneria has concluded, Dreamplanet were pot 2 for the draw as they are ranked 10th following their dream run in the previous Campionato Esportiva, only falling to Kita-Hinode's majestic squad that became cup favourites later down the line and just falling short of being Pot 1 for the tournament, Dreamplanet have not been made one of the favourites to win this Campionato Esportiva although they could become the dark horse of the tournament like in the previous edition, Os Tricores will be hoping to wave away World Cup and Cup of Harmony disappointment with a good showing on the regional stage, everyone remembers how the previous tournament went so they will be hoping to do one better, as hard as that may be.

Apox
Bongo Johnson
Thalamascia
Dreamplanet

Dreamplanet will kick off CE25 in the exact same way as they kicked off CE24, with a match against 7th ranked Apox, Dreamplanet will then face the debuting Thalamascia and then finally concluding the group with 19th ranked Bongo Johnson. It is a tight group since there is only 3 ranking places separating Apox from Dreamplanet and 9 separating Dreamplanet from Bongo Johnson, there is no room for errors like in the previous tournament as only the top 2 advance, but if Os Tricores want to contend for the title, they'll have to impress in the group stage.

Here's the schedule of games for the Dreamplanetian national team:
Saturday October 26th - MD1: Apox vs Dreamplanet
Monday October 28th - MD2: Dreamplanet vs Thalamascia
Wednesday October 30th - MD3: Bongo Johnson vs Dreamplanet

Black jerseys, black shorts and black socks. The jersey also features the kanji in the nation's flag although the colors are obviously reversed. It doesn't have a proper representation because the federation's head lost a game of poker to the head honcho back at ediraf.

There have been many powerful nations throughout the millennia.
But ages of World Cup football have begun to tear the fabric of the realms. The critical point has finally been reached.
It was foreseen that the Sunrisian threat would one day grow too powerful and too numerous.
If left unchecked, their intensifying Pokémon shenanigans would weaken and shatter the realms and bring about the apocalypse.
The Elder Gods demanded a safeguard put in place to avoid total destruction. One that involved beverages, bad ideas and a complete lack of interest.
It worked briefly.
But then, at the apex of boredom, they decided to do a 180 turn and go back.
At last, it has come to this.
The era of the Sunrise has begun.

RP PERMISSIONS
As you might've noticed, this team isn't entirely human. Just wanted to point out they're still fairly close to being human, just in case and a brief search will give you a good idea of what they look like, plus you can ask me about them if you want. Please don't kill the players. Injuries for large stretches of time have to be informed by telegram, or else they'll get the ignore canon treatment. Anything else (bar anything that destroys any city of the empire or its' people, just in case anyone gets a bit too creative) is fine by me.

The Patriots return to the regionals hoping to lick their wounds, claw back some pride, and blood a couple bright up-and-comers, though the nation's not producing nearly as many as could be hoped for.

First Team and Tactics
Image
Jim Reid is switching focus to a 4-4-2 in the hopes of more support up front, a bit more firepower. The defence is strong and tight, the central midfield combining physicality and technique with the wingers the main creative outlets. Up front, there's a combination of a workhorse striker and a pure finisher.
Unfortunately, it didn't work. New manager Brelk-Xeral is upping the ante, Rozelle-style.

Staff
Manager - Brelk-Xeral Erv (QUS) - Age 44
Asst. Manager - Jess Curtin - Age 41

Brelk-Xeral is a visionary. The canny Qusmo is a strong tactician with a forthrightness that gets things done, and their appreciation for open, attacking football meshes nicely with the Southern school of Brenecian football. They favour a solid, trusted core of talent, like Jim Reid - unlike Jim Reid, they are ruthless when it comes to removing players who can no longer pull their weight. The astute former international midfielder Jess Curtin takes over as assistant.

Goalkeepers
Core
1 - GK - Cass Farrell (Image Northern Union) - Age 27 - 12 caps, 4 clean sheets
Raw-boned and confident, perhaps to a fault; Farrell worked hard on the training pitch to beat the errors out of her game, and it seems to have paid off. She's an excellent keeper in the Mathis Woodgate mould. Not really a sweeper, not great with the ball at her feet, accurate long distribution, and a near-unparalleled shot-stopper.

12 - GK - Lachlan Kenway (Image Vidial Alchemists) - Age 29 - 2 caps, 1 clean sheet
Kenway's not exciting, he's sturdy and reliable. His club career has been spent with a terrible Westpike United side and a #yolo Vidial, and the full-throttle nature of the Patriots at present should give him plenty more opportunities to shine, if given the go-ahead.

20 - GK - Scanlan Pritchard (Image Marque) - Age 25 - 1 cap
A high-pressing, hard-running sweeper with excellent distribution, Pritchard's got a rick in him every now and again. A shot-stopper whose weakness is, well, shot-stopping - though he's no slouch, either. Agile, highly physical and with just a hint of madness in the blood.

Defenders
2 - RB - Keziah Broxham (Image Mallox) - Age 26 - 52 caps, 3 goals
Broxham is not the nicest defender in the world. She's short, sharp, quick and decisive in her movements. If you don't mind a fair bit of needle in the tackle, and even off the ball, the lippy rightback's one of the most promising out there.

3 - LB - Gethin Quill (Image Revolutionaries) - Age 30 - 92 caps, 7 goals
Short and stocky, Quill's a quick, powerful runner and isn't afraid to show a little muscle defending his corner. A dirty street-fighter with the technique to back it up, exactly the kind of player everyone hates but secretly wants on their team. When Revolutionaries plucked him from obscurity, as he was cast aside in the aftermath of Union's disgrace, their fans were understandably sceptical. He won them over, fast.

5 - CB - Garrett Horgan (Image Northern Union) - Age 29 - 20 caps, 3 goals
A brawny enforcer who doesn't mind putting a bit of stick about. Horgan was one of Union's youth products at the time of their fall from grace; he had to put up with being shopped around on loan until his hometown club got back to the second tier, and ever since his return, he's helped them from that ignominy to a Champions Cup final. But he's the same bouncer as ever.

6 - CB - Keane Mathers (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 26 - 8 caps, 1 goal
Mathers is a shaved bear. That's pretty useful in a centre-half. He's clean on the ball, even relatively clean off it, knowing how to stay on the right side of the referee as he gently but firmly escorts his charges off to the edges. Unbeatable in the air, and even relatively not slow despite his bulk.

18 - RB - Erica Weaver (Image North Hall) - Age 27 - 28 caps
Iron will, steely nerve and a calm discipline - Weaver's not someone to slip up or overcommit forward. She's not exactly a dynamic player, just a steady, cautious rightback whose pace and anticipation make her near-impossible to beat on the wing.

19 - LB - Eliwulf Tambor (Image Northern Union) - Age 25 - 2 caps
Strong, redoubtable, professional. Tambor's the kind of heads-down no-nonsense water-carrier that Northern Union produce with a scary reliability. His name may not exactly leap off the page, but there's a reason he's a Champions Cup finalist - how many Brenecians can boast the same?

22 - CB - Chadwick Beath (Image CA Paulinthal) - Age 30 - 32 caps
A brawny, powerful defender, versatile both on and off the pitch, who has played in three nations already - none of them Brenecia. He's a doughty, determined soul who will do whatever's asked of him without complaint. He usually splits his time between being an unusually strong rightback and an unusually fast centre-half, but he can play on the left or in defensive midfield willingly enough.

Midfielders
4 - DM - Keziah Locke (Image Duke of the North) - Age 27 - 13 caps, 3 goals
Despite a willowy physique and an intellectual bent, Locke still took quickly to the role of midfield enforcer once trialled. In part, this is because of a hefty infusion of white-line fever that ensures she's always ready to foul, but her strongest asset is her anticipation, always finding her in the right place at the right time. She has the passing range and eye for goal of a more attack-minded midfielder, on top of that.

8 - CM - Elysse Matheson (Image Hornchurch) - Age 25 - 29 caps, 10 goals
A pacy, frictionless midfielder, Matheson passed up the chance to develop at high-flying Rozelle to slum it at Hornchurch, doing the hard yards in Eura. It's already brought out a new dimension in her. She's not a passing playmaker, but a driving force from midfield, eager to make a mark on the edges of the box.

11 - LM - Cathal Keynes (Image Lajuno) - Age 27 - 56 caps, 15 goals
Tall, strong and powerful, Keynes probably looks more like a striker, but that loping stride masks a deceptive pace. Has steadily mastered a low, flat cross, and has a real eye for goal. Even if he's used in more of an impact role these days, he still makes his mark felt.

13 - CM - Corby Wheeler (Image Ramusok United) - Age 27 - 72 caps, 23 goals
A sharp, ambitious midfielder who is constantly darting in and about the danger zone. Has a great vision and a passing range that doesn't quite match it, and can fade out of games, but as a mercurial game-changer she's without equal in the side. After being a major culprit in Reid's downfall, Wheeler's had a new lease of life after the change in management.

14 - CM - Claire Ruskin (Image Kingsgrove) - Age 27 - 48 caps, 6 goals
A sturdy, tough-skinned box-to-box midfielder. Ruskin's not the sort to take a backward step either on or off the pitch, and while she can sometimes get tunnel vision for the goal - which is a relatively good thing now that she can actually... shoot - she tends to get the basics right. Maybe not the sort of player whose positive contributions are remembered by a neutral, and endured a fairly comical goalless run of over 25 international games.

21 - CM - Riona Parker (Image Rozelle United) - Age 24 - Uncapped
A lithe, diligent playmaker, Parker has a street footballer's talent for a clever first touch, an egotist's penchant for long shots and her own penchant for cheating. If anyone on the team is going to totally feign contact and dive, it's her. By all accounts, a far nicer person off the pitch than on it.

23 - DM - Finn Townsend (Image Francisca Orient) - Age 23 - 2 caps
A pure destroyer, with youth and verve to burn. Is a game really complete without a caution? Oh, Townsend is nothing but dirt - and the occasional rocket at goal. There's definitely scope to develop further, but he can do a very straightforward job as things stand.

Forwards
7 - RW - Lauren Cheney (Image Kingsgrove) - Age 23 - 27 caps, 9 goals
Much of the hope for the Brenecian future hangs on Cheney's broad shoulders. A street footballer at her heart, Cheney has a very un-Brenecian ego problem, and expresses it in very Brenecian passive-aggression and a need to work harder and better than anyone and everyone around her. Fast, tough, and with an eye for goal.

9 - ST - Mhacha White (Image Centre for Excellence) - Age 20 - Uncapped
Now, here is a statement. Like Ursula Rankin, White is making her way through FC Endeavour's overclocked reserves program, the Centre for Excellence; like Ursula Rankin, she's a boxy poacher with a quick switch of pace and a great eye for turning. But she's tall. And might actually have a few more strings to her bow, too. She's raw right now, but in the future...

10 - ST - Kara Ciogach (Image Southern Star) - Age 26 - 23 caps, 17 goals
The shining new hope of Brenecia's strikers, Ciogach is, typically, Schottic. She even won a couple of caps for them. Nevertheless, here she is. She's ambitious, strong despite a lithe physique, fast as hell, and able to finish with either foot or the head. Without really meaning to, she's become the talisman of the team.

15 - RW - Cu Roi Garrard (Image Northern Union) - Age 28 - 57 caps, 10 goals
A pure athlete, inclined to be direct in approach. A forceful winger who excels bearing down on fullbacks, far more sledgehammer than rapier. Surprisingly, despite his serious case of white line fever, an extremely friendly face off the pitch. Just not on the negotiating table, where he has a decided mercenary streak.

16 - LW - Ceridwen Fletcher (Image North Hall) - Age 22 - 19 caps, 5 goals
It's hard not to couch Fletcher as Cheney's opposite; a tall, elegant Northerner, less versatile or direct but with a peach of a left boot that can be rapier or sledgehammer, depending on what's required. Her potential is immense, and there's every sign she'll fulfil it.

17 - ST - Creidne Lindauer (Image Kingsgrove) - Age 24 - 3 caps, 3 goals
Lindauer isn't versatile. She's very quick, very clever, and she's a very good finisher. Despite some people almost hoping for the unglamorous, outspoken forward to get found out for her hometown club, it's yet to happen, and she's flourished sufficiently to become an impact option for the Patriots.

CEYNE ISLES
Preferred Formation:
4-4-2
Style Modifier: 0
Playstyle: Like a crap lower-league Nepharim team, because they basically are. Big, strong and hardy.
Kit Supplier: from Anglatia
Captain: Karsten Riordan
Nickname: the Pirates
Pronunciation Guide: "You'd have to be insane to live in Ceyne."

After a decade away, the Ceynes Isles are back to make a splash. Hopefully, anyway. More realistically they'll get pummeled, but still, any point will give the beleaguered, windswept island something to cheer about. It's not had much of those, lately.

Tactics
Image
First-choice lineup.
Built together through a handful of journeymen, most of whom have little professional experience. The Ceynes league is about as bad as professional leagues go, and while there's two sides from the capital, Falston, in the Nepharim lower leagues, they're mostly made up of, well, Nepharim. The Pirates have an excellent striker in Sophia Fortune, and the plan on the attack is basically just to get the ball to her. They're physical and their workrate is high, but the fitness of the locals may not be able to keep up with Brightwater's demands.

Staff
Manager: Monica Brightwater (NPH) - Age 59
Asst. Manager: Madison Forrest - Age 47
Brightwater is an experienced Nepharim manager with a somewhat mixed record. She was able to build Southfell United into a sturdy Premiership club, but lukewarm stints at AFC Treason and Eastweald proved a step too far. When an alright stint at Bishop ended, she wound up between jobs, and after a few years, this is the one that beckoned. Seen as a long-term planner.

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Anna St. Preux - Age 30 - New Island (SCT)
12 - GK - Everand Chinon - Age 35 - Falston Town (NPH)
18 - GK - Evan Merrick - Age 24 - Shrove Wanderers

St. Preux has overcome mental illness and injury to recover in her late 20s, moving from the local league to Falston United and from there, recently, to newly-promoted Ritter Town of the second tier. She's still inconsistent, and can have a howler or two in her, but on her day is a very handy last resort. Chinon is a steady pair of hands, and... that's about it. If Merrick's in goal, the Pirates are in trouble.

Defenders
2 - RB - Tanya Landon - Age 30 - Imperial Falston
3 - LB - Karsten Riordan (c) - Age 33 - Scaffield (BRE)
5 - CB - Providence Mensah - Age 28 - Leichhardt (NPH)
6 - CB - Tomas Spearman - Age 34 - Imperial Falston
13 - CB - Murgen Knox - Age 28 - Maal Daemons (MRN)
19 - RB - Corsica Greene - Age 23 - Roschester Pride
22 - LB - Gerry Dogberry - Age 30 - Falston Town (NPH)

The strongest part of the team, if a little uneven. Three players have top-flight experience. Mensah and Knox are a strong core - Mensah calm and commanding, Knox aggressive and murderous. Karsten Riordan, son of former Nephara goalkeeper Kieron, has a tenuous connection to the country (same with Knox) but a proven track record at the highest level. Greene, meanwhile, is the glaring weak link as things stand, but has the raw determination to claw her way to the top. Landon, Spearman and Dogberry are all veterans of the last campaign, and all dross.

Midfielders
4 - HM - Shay Wilshire - Age 34 - Imperial Falston
7 - RM - Jade Heller - Age 30 - Falston United (NPH)
8 - CM - Memphis Commons - Age 23 - Freeport Sharks
11 - LM - Rabican Monrow - Age 21 - IFK Liverpool United (DAR)
15 - CM - Ray Aldridge - Age 24 - Falston Town (NPH)
16 - LM - Darren Grahame - Age 24 - Falston Town (NPH)
18 - HM - Kindness Nkembe - Age 34 - KF Niom (QUS)
20 - RM - Susanne Mpenza - Age 20 - Uryanspor (TMR)

The weak point of the squad. Kindness Nkembe, poorer relation of Temperance and Diligence (among others), is a calm and disciplined holding midfielder currently plying her trade in Qusmo, which has left her responding instinctively to neutral pronouns. The orthodox winger Heller's a lower-league veteran, a known but unpromising quantity. Commons is a sly, clever and streetwise box-to-box woman, Monrow a tall, lean and cunning winger. Mpenza's the most promising of the rest, and will likely be on the right in the future.

Forwards
9 - ST - Ansel Westerveld - Age 32 - New Rozelle
10 - ST - Sophia Fortune - Age 29 - Whitehaven Triumph (CEN)
14 - ST - Gideon Rowan - Age 27 - AFC Mosstown
17 - ST - Esther Fortune - Age 29 - Falston United (NPH)
21 - ST - Crowley Mathers - Age 22 - Roschester Pride

There is a very clear standout name here. Sophia Fortune is good enough to have been on the fringes of a Nephara callup recently, thought to miss out only because her abrasive personality clashed with the calm waters that Michael Brandon wanted to encourage. She's been a consistent goalscorer over the last few years of the Terranean League, direct and ruthless and selfish, and is the clear hope of the side. Mathers is, well, the best of the rest. Westerveld and Luther offer some tall timber on the bench, while the younger Fortune sister is a lot easier, helps keep Sophia in check and has a decent enough scoring record in the lower leagues.

Former Nepharan territory, former Anglatian puppet, current Brenecian puppet. It's complicated, but probably not as much as it sounds.

Regional middle power, international underdog, you know the drill, the Union of Quincy is back for another go-round at the Campionato Esportiva held in Newmanistan and Xanneria in one of the big 3 tournaments taking place this summer. Looking to build off last times quarterfinals run at home and improve on a shoot up to 17th in the regional rankings, they’ve been drawn with familiar foes en route to another bid at the knockouts. The national team looks to have built up its youth and talent, many of which will look to make the transfer overseas in the coming transfer window, but for now will look to do well for nation and represent Quincy well on the national stage.

Interim head coach, Eli Kingsford brought in from the Ba Sing Se has brought in a lot of his core players from the Tigers to build this team, which many may frown upon as some argue that the team needs to focus on foreign talent rather than an unknown, underperforming domestic league. However, Kingsford has stuck to his terms, he’s recruited players who know what it’s like to compete in the nation’s spotlight, picking a clean well-rounded and youthful team that looks to carry a successful run to the World Cup qualifiers. Wearing the blue-and-yellow on the Kwang-tzu uniform is something that players are still adjusting to but Kingsford looks like the right man to hold the ship until the situation is fully stabilized. This team looks like a team that might be able to surprise a few teams in the run up, a re-match with big Esportivan giant, Mattijana should be an interesting one, there’s certainly an upside to look for with this young squad.

A breakdown of the men and women of the Lahou is as follows:

Staff
EK. Eli Kingsford, Manager, 69
No Caps
In the past, Eli Kingsford was a great player, a stalwart on the line for Azurea and perhaps should’ve been considered for a run by the administration then, but now, now, Kingsford is the symbol of the change that Quincy encounters on a daily basis in football, perhaps a mention to the old guard but also a nod to what the nation is building. A defensive player in his day, his teams are pretty straight-forward, lining up in a basic 4-3-3 with an aforementioned focus on the attack, bolstered by important and key pieces like Hsieh Ch’un in the domestic circuit, his captain at Ba Sing Se. Kingsford is a good manager, sure he’s not the best and he’s only going to be here for a few months at best, but he’s all the national team’s got and he’s one of the finest in the Super League. He should hold his fair share of toughness in battle, and who’s to say he can’t lead the Lahou to the promised land? If he does…well then, great things are in store for him.

LK. Li Kuanyu, Assistant Manager, 35
No Caps
A 35 year old who prides himself as being a defensive genius of sorts, he was the mastermind behind Gyatso-Aang Southern’s remarkable rush to the Super League league title two years ago, that team only gave up – what was it, 19 goals? Over 30 games, truly an incredible feat for him. Since then, Kuanyu has left football, fired shortly after a 1-3-0 start to the season which left Southern supporters upset and management shriveled, now in a key job he looks like the man who’ll be able to sort out the defensive set up that they hope to run with the team this time around.

Goalkeepers
1. Wu Chiu, GK, 30 - Ba Sing Se Lahou Motors
No Caps
Some have reserved feelings about this, when he’s on his a-game, he’s a brilliant keeper who’s powers to play are almost unmatched, when he’s not on his game, he gives up sloppy shots and is a nuisance to a defense, but Wu Chiu was Kingsford’s man at Ba Sing Se and helped him last season to a 18-goals allowed season and a league title when they only scored 28 goals or something like that. This year wasn’t nearly as clinical for him and this is probably due to the fact he’s lost a step, he’s not the clear-cut most talented but he can handle the position and responsibilities that come with it. This will be an exceptional warmup to see if he has what it takes for World Cup qualifiers and more importantly the Cup of Harmony which Quincy looks likely to make early on.

12. Hao Jun, GK, 24 - Azulon City
No Caps
If there’s anything going for him right now it’s the youth he has, he still has to tightrope learning his distribution and that’s probably getting a bit too late, he’s 24, but Azulon City’s Hao Jun looks like an able-bodied keeper who can firmly push himself into the rotation as one of the three keepers to select from for the national team, he has good command and control in the box and that showed last season, sure he had a young line but that should grow with time. Of course right now, he’s behind Kingsford’s boy in Chiu and he’s unlikely to get the chance to prove himself in meaningful matches, he’ll need to take the best opportunity of matchday 3 assuming Quincy has qualified to the knockouts.

19. Zheng, GK, 32 - Berfolk Athletic Image
No Caps
An interesting choice and largely because of a good season last season, however he’s hardly the ‘best of the rest’ and at 32 this is clearly a curtain call to highlight his accomplishments, look for him to do nothing more than stretch.

Defenders
2. [ C ] Rei Beifong, LB, 26 - Ba Sing Se Lahou Motors F.C. Image
No Caps
Kingsford’s preferred leftback, Rei Beifong, son of Lin Beifong is an able-bodied back who also can slot into the centerback role at times, major presence on the backline his chemistry with Chui is perhaps a bigger reason for him making the roster, expect him to be the one who organizes the backline more and calls out assignments. Routinely, he’ll most likely mark the striker.

3. Chung Hsia, L/CB, 30 - Berfolk Athletic Image
No Caps
Chung Hsia is the one to plug the LCB role temporarily until a youthful player can fill the void permanently but for a regional cup ride, I’m sure we can all come to trust whatever he can do. Rode the bench for two years before breaking out with Berfolk Athletic, he’s a trusted player and someone the defense can work with, likely however not the answer at the position.

4. Murdock Smith, R/CB, 23 - Berfolk Athletic Image
No Caps
One of the promising talents with Berfolk, and only age 23, Murdock Smith is player who really can easily succeed and do well for the national team, his signature Mohawk has been memorialized by the Berfolk supporters and his play on the field for the southern side has really improved greatly in his first season starting. Look for him to really establish himself on the national team mosaic this year, he’s a promising find.

5. Dennis Zhan, RB, 26 - Evernorth F.C. Image
No Caps
After yet another mediocre season with Evernorth, Dennis Zhan announced that it would be his last with the club as he formally announced his plans to play the game abroad, moving on from Evernorth, he’s been assigned to the transfer window where one of the best players in the Super League will look to take his play to another country and excel. For Zhan, he’s likely to firmly entrench himself in the rightback spot for years to come, he has all the needed expertise to assure himself a long time to come at the position.

13. Dong Lan, L/CB, 24 - Evernorth F.C. Image
No Caps
Another pick-up from Evernorth with a clear reason, Dong Lan has been firmly entrusted by new manager, Bai Jian to be the man for the job, and there’s clear reasons why he was picked up for it; his play has been extraordinary this past season and he really is lucky he isn’t eligible to transfer overseas yet as that gives him two more years to add to his resume as to why he needs to move up higher in the pecking order. For the national team, he should get some playing time, but keep in mind he’s playing behind Beifong so not a lot most likely.

14. Ash Ramsey, CB, 32 - Ba Sing Se Lahou Motors F.C. Image
No Caps.
At 32 he’s still better than the majority of most centerbacks in the team and he fits the mold for Kingsford’s envisioned team the best, but also at 32…this is his one and only fight and the next manager needs to find an able player to fill that whole. His last season, he was slightly off his game, but he most-definitely is the man for the job and should be able to be productive against the unknowns and others he’ll set up against.

15. Zi Yan, CB, 19 - Azulon City Image
No Caps.
TBA.

16. Shu Jen*, RB, 19 - Luna Wanderers F.C. (Kita-Hinode) Image
No Caps.
TBA.

Midfielders
6. Jennifer Betancourt, 21, LM - Azulon United Image
No Caps
She’s really good and at 21 she’s being sent overseas because Azulon United has a whole list of young talents they produce every year, but Jennifer Betancourt is different, in her maiden campaign as a midfielder she contributed six goals on a team that had a slow offensive year, and Du Zan, Azu Utd.’s manager is notoriously stingy when it comes to playing her youth prospects, however a great campaign from her leaves her looking to go abroad, and honestly can you blame her? She’s ready for the big jump and however that’s going to be, someone is going to come chasing her talents.

7. Davis Clark, L/CM, 26 - Azulon United Image
No Caps
Another United player has made the national team selection, and of course bit older than his counterpart, but, Davis Clark looks like the real deal at the CM position for United, especially because he’s really exploded in recent years as the favorite midfielder for Du Zan, she spent some time developing him in his formative years with the club and since then he’s really flourished. A major part in United’s third place finish last season, Clark’s testing the open water and was put on the domestic transfer wire after another good season, he’s being stopped at N$8m by United within the nation and the team’s already received a slew of calls concerning his tenure.

8. Mo Chang, R/LCM/CF, 27 – Ba Sing Se Lahou Motors F.C.[/i] Image
No Caps
The midfield maestro, the man in green; the only player to to record over 10 goals being a substitute off the bench for most of the season, the former ‘bust’ at Gyato-Aang has revolutionized his game while play as both a CF and in last year, Kingsford’s preferred position for him as a L/CM, bringing speed and endurance to the table alongside being a hearty goal-scoring machine, Mo Chang really is a big piece for this team as he’ll really look to generate goal-scoring opportunities for this side. With his power and knack to the find the goal, we could see him playing more inside alongside Davis Clark, or perhaps a mid-run roster shake up to move him to more of a central role in the formation, but no doubt the goal-scoring talent he brings to the table is going to be a real helpful piece for this team to incorporate, especially since he’s only 27.

Forwards
9. Patricia Mcdonlad, LW/ST, 29 - Gyatso-Aang Southern Image
No Caps
She scored 19 goals last season for Gyatso-Aang and is probably a major reason why they awoke from hibernation and looked actually competitive for the first time in years, starting to really look like the woman in charge at her club, the 29 year old really will look to generate goal-scoring opportunities for her side, Patricia McDonald has told the team that Southern is going to be her lifelong team and signed a six year contract last season to stay with the club till she was 34. She joined the club when she was twenty-three and won the starting position two years ago and since then hasn’t looked back. A real, deft player at the front she won’t be afraid to challenge the other people standing in her way.

10. Azai, ST, 20 - Berfolk Athletic Image
No Caps
Gaoling’s golden boy, Azai scored 23 goals last season en route to the Golden Boot, at 20 he’s the youngest to ever do it and was hastily picked up by Berfolk Athletic, looking for a pure scorer for the team this season after their regular, Ako announced his plans to attempt to venture overseas. Azai is a goal-scoring machine, and exemplifies nothing more than with his prowess to find the next, exerting all his skill on his focus for this sole thing. He’s really starting to look like someone who can get it done, he’s been blessed with the strength of a lion and the motor of a horse,he seemingly never gets tired and really looks like he can be the face of the national team’s striking corp for years to come.

11. Yakone, RW, 23 - Kyoshi Foretham Image
No Caps
How do you contain somebody who seems destine to find the back of the net in the most random of times? That’s the question that defenders will be asking Yakone following his N$6m transfer move to Kyoshi Foretham ahead of this season, a player who despite his breaking season lost his starting spot to Mo Chang while at Ba Sing Se, Yakone still is a youthful, vibrant player who’s skills are essentially unmatched and is an unparalleled talent on the field for someone of his age and caliber. He should easily be able to go toe-to-toe with some of the best of the region in defense and really show he belongs.

20. P’ing Meng LW, 19 - Hokuto Senateurs (Kita-Hinode) Image
No Caps.
TBA.

21. Kang, ST, 19 - Project Olimpo Jutsii (Kita-Hinode) Image
No Caps.
TBA.

22. Krish Fareth, RW, 29 - Tenzin’s Old Boys Athletic Club Image
No Caps.
A solid right wing, with Tenzin’s Old Boys, Krish Fareth brings a big man presence to the team, a dominating stature as 6’11, he’s a huge target in the box and it’s a wonder he didn’t end up playing keeper, apparently his position was changed when he was 16. A solid player with TOBs, he scored 9 goals this season.

SLOW START TO CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA CAMPAIGN

Image

Dreamplanet held back by late mistakes.

In the first match these two teams played, Dreamplanet heroically demolished the veteran team Apox, maybe as a result of underestimating on Apox's part or the run in the previous Campionato Esportiva was written in the stars, here in Delano City, Os Tricores were held back by a defensive mistake from João Pedro that allowed Clarissa Ephraim-Garza to equalise and give both teams a point.

Dreamplanet often perform much better in the first half, but apart from a Luis Silva goal in the 27th minute from a stunning free kick, Dreamplanet were nowhere to be seen and only the heroics of Filipe Vaz could keep Apox at bay for the entire half, making 6 saves in 45 minutes alone to deny Marcy Blake-Tatum and crew a goal. When the half time whistle blew, that's how it stood for the half with Apox having a staggering 74% possession but yet trailing at the half to a Luis Silva blooter, Dreamplanet would have to improve much more in the second half if they wanted to see the game out with a win.

And in the second half, it looked promising as Paulo Figueiredo almost made a second goal, chipping Tregatta Spitfire but seeing his effort hit the post and stay out, eventually Marcy Blake-Tatum equalised with a header following a Cassiopeia Quintero cross, Apox had held the reigning Vice-Champions back but the writing was on the wall since the first half. Not much happened happened following that despite both teams' attempt to break the deadlock, this was until Luis Silva went through on goal, instead of shooting straight in and having it be possibly saved by Spitfire, he passed it straight to Aaron Hungar who was able to score, regaining Dreamplanet's lead. Os Tricores tried to close the game out but João Pedro's pass-back being intercepted by Ephraim-Garza and slotted in would mean that both Dreamplanet and Apox would take a point and the game was tied at 2-2.

Following that mistake, Dreamplanet sits joint 2nd with Apox after only one game played, they will play the debutant Thalamascia, this could be a good opportunity for Dreamplanet to get some much needed goals (and a win) as they will face currently 1st placed Bongo Johnson, only the top 2 advance so Dreamplanet will need all the help it can get.

NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM SHOW STRONG DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE IN 1-0 LOSS

SOUTHPORT, NEWMANISTAN - The Ross Isles national soccer team showed great bravery in defence in their nail-biting 1-0 loss to Fhulghamous Peninsula last night in Southport, Newmanistan. In their first foray in international competition, the conservative and defensive tactics employed by national soccer team manager Neil Walters seemed to be set to produce a scoreless draw, which would have been a frustrating outcome for the Ross Isles' considerably higher ranked opponent. Nevertheless, the narrow defeat was still a decent showing by the Ross Isles outfit. St Albans' goalkeeper Hugh Youngs, who is both goalkeeper and captain for the national team, put in a particularly impressive performance. Youngs' eleven saves, several of which were nothing short of spectacular, earned him the honour of being named man of the match in the tight contest. Unfortunately, a late breakthrough came for Fhulghamous Peninsula, with a goal in the 79th minute of the fixture proving to be the only goal of the hard-fought game. Whilst the whole Ross Isles team performed at a level which surely exceeded expectations of them from higher-ranked nations with much more experience on the international soccer scene, striker Rob Nolan did not receive a great many opportunities nor did he look like scoring at any point of the match, though the Ross Isles side certainly seemed to be physical in defence and a hard team to break down. The national soccer team's next fixture in the Campionato Esportiva takes place tomorrow against Mattijana, who are ranked third in the region, in Centralia, Newmanistan.

THE COLONY OF THE FHULGHAMOUS PENINSULA
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

The Colony of the Fhulghamous Peninsula (Full-Gah-Moose) was first established on 6 December 2008, when Fleftic explorers landed on what was then a previously undiscovered continent. These explorers landed on a large peninsula that they named Fhulghamous because of its rich and lush green forests. One of the explorers then fell into an old mine shaft while exploring the peninsula and discovered that the entire peninsula was lying on top of one of the biggest diamond deposits ever discovered by mankind. Once the explorers announced their discovery to the Fleftic government, the Democratic Republic Army Corps of Engineers was quickly dispatched to help speed up the establishment of the colony by helping in constructing settlements and assisting in constructing mining facilities to extract the diamonds within the land.

The Colony of the Fhulghamous Peninsula was officially established as a colony of the Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft on 6 September 2010 following the signing of Democratic Republic Act No. 2340. The colony's capital would be Port Thimpodopoulos, named after Sergeant Major Pythagoras Thimpodopoulos of the Army Corps of Engineers, who tragically died of a heart attack during the construction of the settlement that would eventually bear his name. Today, Port Thimpodopoulos has a population of ten million, accounting for just under half of the total population of the colony. Other cities in the colony were Besanza, Tadoki, Haritzaga City and Thereisnogodabad, home of Multiverse Premier League club Thereisnogodistan FC.

The colony is under the leadership of Governor-General Petrarchos Kulbano, brother of Minister of Colonial Affairs Demetrios Kulbano. His rule saw the Fhulghamous Peninsula's ascent to being one of the most economically-productive colonies of the Democratic Republic, but due to the colony's distance from the mainland Governor Kulbano is slowly beginning to treat the colony as his own personal fiefdom. This was one of the reasons why he had decided to send forth a petition to send a national team to the Di Bradini Cup, the Multiverse's top under-21 football competition. Unfortunately due to some last-minute troubles, the Fhulghamous Peninsula's team was not allowed entry into the Di Bradini Cup, leaving many people in the colony a bit unfulfilled. But when another chance to send forth a national team revealed itself, Governor Kulbano was quick to submit his team's entry, and this time he made sure that the wouldn't miss out on another chance at participating in an international competition.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of Nation: The Colony of the Fhulghamous Peninsula
Demonym: Fhulghamousian, Colonist
Team colors: Green and gray
Style modifier: +4.00 (Yet another very attacking side)
Manager: Orestes Katsouranis Jr. (58 y/o, Fhulghamous Peninsula)
Assistant manager: Paulus Wolf (56 y/o, Pridnestrovia)
Trainer: Wendell Beckett (74 y/o, Abanhfleft)

STARTERS
GK: CAPOEIRISTA
37 y/o, Airbus Fhulghamous Besanza Image, vice-captain
Bradini Vazconcelos Redentor, as Capoeirista is called in real life, is one of the better keepers playing both for and in the Fhulghamous Peninsula. Named after the well-known international football star Simone Di Bradini, Capoeirista seemed destined to play as a forward, but alas, he found himself more comfortable playing between the goalposts, and that was how he ended up playing as a goalkeeper. When he's not playing football, he teaches people in the martial art of capoeira, which is how he gained his current nickname. His capoeira skills have also proved intangible once he combined it with his goalkeeping training to become one of the best keepers in the colony, producing spectacular saves that are almost akin to martial arts moves. There's no question that he's a good keeper, but the team's performance in the recent Campionato Esportiva doesn't really reflect that, but it could be said that it's more the fault of the defense than Capoierista's personally. Can they improve in time for the World Cup qualifiers?

RB: Pau PALOMER 28 y/o, Thereisnogodistan FC Image (playing in the Fleftic Premier League)
Once again, nothing much distinguishes Pau from the rest of the center backs in the Fleftic sphere of influence. About the only noteworthy thing about him is that he shows excellent defensive skills for his age and has now become a starter for Thereisnogodistan FC. Why exactly he's still not starting is a bit of a mystery, but with John Montemayor looking more and more likely to announce his retirement from both club and international football anytime soon, Pau might soon just get the chance to represent the Fhulghamous for real this time.
UPDATE: John Montemayor has finally announced his retirement from international football, and Pau Palomer has been named the new starting right back of the Fhulghamous national team.

RCB: Naftali SINGERSTEIN 30 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image (Abanhfleft)
A promising young center back whom Sporting Ceneisis immediately snapped up as soon as the Colonists' campaign in the Campionato Esportiva was over, but then immediately sent him on loan to Oontaz Dert Li Ng's Botafogo de Maranao. Singerstein is the kind of center back to sit back and be the last man between the keeper and any marauding attackers, although a lot of times he has to be reminded that there is such a thing as the offside rule. If he does play someone offside, most often it will be by accident. Now back at Ceneisis.

LCB: John HAINAUT 27 y/o, Miroz Old Boys Image (Abanhfleft)
The other half of Fhulghamous's central defensive pairing. Hainaut has since picked up a contract for Miroz Old Boys in the second tier of Fleftic football. He's the kind of defender that moves up with the attack and takes the occasional long shot from outside the box from time to time, but he does well to go back to the defense when the opponent marauds up the field. Still, he's caught out of position more times than not, but he's young, and there's still time to learn how to be a proper center back.

LB: Tatsuo KAMAKURA 29 y/o, Marinos Thimpodopoulos Image (playing in the Fleftic Premier League)
Maybe an older, more experienced left back could've been selected to play for the national side. Unfortunately, a left back from the Fhulghamous Peninsula better than Kamakura hasn't been discovered yet, so the team will have to settle for him for the moment. But surely there must be some quality in him though as he's been signed by Marinos Thimpodopoulos, the surprise package of the recently concluded Fleftic Premier League season. An older and more experienced left back with championship-winning experience has now been found in Riuwiee United's Sokratis Tzorvas, but because Tatsuo has since proven himself capable for the Fhulghamous, Tzorvas will sit on the bench unless something bad happens to Tatsuo.

RM: Elliot EDISON 34 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image (Abanhfleft)
Elliot is all about speed and pace. In the training grounds, he's almost as fast as the fastest man on earth, and no teammate has ever managed to beat his time in sprints. But in scoring goals, where it matters most, Elliot has been a little bit lacking. Sure, he makes good runs into pockets of space, but when it's time to apply the finishing touch, he just can't seem to find the back of the net more times than he does. The fact that people consider Elliot scoring 10 goals for Arsenal de Releinthi in a given season a milestone is an indicator of his lack of shooting prowess, which has led to confusion on whether he's more suited to be a playmaking midfielder rather than a goalscoring winger. He used to play for Abanhfleft in friendly games and a few qualifying matches but has since managed to shift his allegiance to the Fhulghamous Peninsula due to the fact that his grandfather Uriah Edison is now a colonial councilor alongside the likes of Rashidunnin Ali.

RCM: Kieran MOSKOWITZ 28 y/o, Polaris Image (Ceni)
Box-to-box midfielder who got a contract with Pridnestrovia's Palatine Opals due to his impressive work in the Runner Cup and the Campionato Esportiva. Looks to repeat his earlier heroics for the country in this Global Cup of Soccer. Finally earned a well-deserved move abroad to Polaris in Ceni.

LCM: Lucian VON FRANKREICH 31 y/o, Union Rheinburg Image (Pridnestrovia)
The other Fhulghamousian central midfielder was signed by another Pridnestrovian club, namely Union Rheinburg. Frankreich is a holding midfielder who can get the ball out of sticky situations and feed passes to the attack, although he is susceptible to being crowded out with the right pressure.

LM: Aidan POWER Jr. 31 y/o, Zoloroni Metropolitan FC Image (Mercedini)
The only mystery around Aidan Junior, son of local Nepharim legend Aidan Power Sr., is why such a good right midfielder such as himself has been passed over by almost every club that could possibly sign him. He's good enough to play for a Premier League side, but not even Godric Wexler and Arsenal de Releinthi had taken a chance on him. There must be an element to his game that has turned off teams to him. Is there hope for him to get a club this time around? Apparently there is, as Mercedini's Zoloroni Metropolitan has decided to take him onboard. He also used to play in right midfield but with Elliot Edison now cleared to play for the Fhulghamous, Aidan Junior will be moved to the left where he has shown flashes of even more blinding brilliance.

CF: SEBASTIANO Pelucci 33 y/o, Riuwiee United Image (Abanhfleft), captain
The other player who plays in the Fleftic Premier League, Sebastiano is a recognized striker playing for Riuwiee United, one of the top teams in the Fleftic top tier. He's got his fair share of goals for both club and country, and he'll be looking to add to his tally in the Campionato Esportiva.
IMPORTANT: This player should be referred as Sebastiano to differentiate him from his brother Salvatore Pelucci.

CF: Max FETFATZIDIS 32 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Image (Abanhfleft)
No one had been paying attention to Max before he helped get Marinos Thimpodopoulos promoted to the Fleftic Premier League, and his amazing 32 goals that season was enough to earn him a N$40m transfer to Rosenpfelblatz City. Max would've taken over Sebastiano Pelucci's spot, but Mephistopheles injured himself playing baseball with the Trendstart Conquistadors, so Max is starting for the Fhulghamous now.

RESERVES
GK: Timothy MERLINSON 25 y/o, Acoflosa United Image (Mercedini)
Timothy is an average goalkeeper in an average team, literally. There's nothing that sets him apart from other goalkeepers both in Abanhfleft and the Fhulghamous Peninsula, and while he may have once been part of Marinos Thimpodopoulos' academy and stood a good chance of making it into the first team, he decided to take his chances somewhere and requested that he be cut from the team. This resulted in him becoming a bit of a wanderer, flitting in and out of teams throughout the Fleftic sphere of influence, and this is also most probably what cost him the chance to take the starting spot in the Peninsular national team when Rashidunnin Ali decided to hang up his boots once again. But Timothy has appeared to have finally settled down with Mercedini's Acoflosa United, where he hopes to make an impacteven if it's just off the bench.

GK: Wanakamahaga DUDABULATULA 25 y/o, Charalambos FC Image
Dudabulatula (that's his given name, by the way) is the crown prince of the Ebolatuli, the largest local tribe living in the Fhulghamous before the arrival of the Fleftic colonists. The integration of the local tribes into the colony is a story that has a lot of twists and turns in it, but it's safe to say that the Ebolatuli are one of the tribes that have managed to survive the transition into the 21st century with their sanity and cultural identity relatively intact. They also took really well to association football, and Dudabulatula is just one of many young people from the tribe who are looking to get opportunities to see the rest of the multiverse through the medium of sport. Expect to see little of him, though, unless something bad happens to either Tim Merlinson or Capoeirista.
IMPORTANT: This player should be always referred to as Dudabulatula since Wanakamahaga is a clan name (used to refer to the clan as a whole and not just to a single member).

DEF: Einar CARLSON 34 y/o, West Releinthi City Image (Abanhfleft)
There's nothing much to distinguish Einar from all the other right backs in the Fleftic sphere of influence, but when it comes to getting the job done, he gets the job done come what may. Einar also used to play for Athletic Haritzaga (not to be confused with Real Haritzaga, another Peninsular team playing int the Fleftic pyramid) before making the move to West Releinthi, and his three years of residency in the colony made Einar eligible to play for the Fhulghamousian national team when it was first established by Governor-General Petrarchos Kulbano.

DEF: Kay STEENSEN 28 y/o, Inter Norgrad Image (Endelos)
Kay showed up for a trial session for the Fhulghamousian national team one day just wanting to watch who would get to represent the colony to the rest of the multiverse when a football rolled towards him and he decided to play around with it and do a few dribbles, rabonas, and other such stunts. This attracted the attention of Governor-General Petrarchos Kulbano, who was busy assembling the team, and a Rosenpfelblatz City scout by the name of Matthew Cave, and Kay found himself in both teams that same afternoon. Unfortunately for Kay, skills could only take him so far on the pitch for Rosenpfelblatz, arguably one of the top teams in Abanhfleft, and he found himself going to Underfell in Anglatia alongside Abanhfleft under-21 starlet Jeanine Stober in exchange for making permanent the then-two-year loan of Under-15 World Cup bronze medalist Blaze Chrzanowska. But following anti-Fleftic sentiments in Valeria at the end of the Nordskanian War (due to Abanhfleft's non-interference with the Pridnestrovian invasion of Nordskania despite the Treaty of Politovskaya which is basically now just a fancy piece of paper), Kay is on the move once again, this time to Inter Norgrad in Endelos.

DEF: Brando QUITAIN 19 y/o, Utica United (Osarius)
NOTE: Pronounciation of his name is KEY-tah-EEN

DEF: Aziz ZAMAN 30 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Image (Abanhfleft)
Aziz used to be one of the hottest young defenders in Abanhfleft, and by hot I mean that he had world class potential in all those football video games people love to use to predict who will become rising stars and who will be destined to become flops. Unfortunately it appears as if Aziz is headed for the "flop" route as his time in Sarvusdalamoive has been limited even as other Fleftic Premier League clubs keep raiding the Pinks for their top talents now that they've put an end to their reputation as a yo-yo club. Still, because of a lack of defenders willing to represent the Fhulghamous (Evangelos Christodoulopoulos being a prime example), Aziz keeps his place in the side for now.

MID: Samson LOVEJOY 34 y/o, Keephall Vikings Image (Abanhfleft)
In the few appearances for the Fhulghamous that he made from the bench, Samson showed that he was a capable defensive midfielder with a capability to send in shots from beyond the box and it was for this reason that Keephall picked him up to bolster their team in their campaign to return to the Fleftic Premier League (a job which they still haven't achieved after almost ten years of playing in the Unang Liga, the second tier of Fleftic football).

MID: Ferdinand TAVISTOCK 32 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image (Abanhfleft)

MID: Brendan MEEKS 31 y/o, AC Sainati Image (The Askari Union)

FW: SALVATORE Pelucci 32 y/o, AFC Langtree Image (Mercedini)
Salvatore, Sebastiano Pelucci's twin brother, can play both as a central forward and as a winger, but he is truly most effective playing up front. He and Sebastiano used to be teammates in Riuwiee United before Salvatore was unexpectedly cut from the team by Georges Leblanc back when the Frenchman was still managing the Blue Tribesmen. Salvatore kept his footballing skills sharp by suiting up for amateur Fhulghamousian sides until Mercedini's AFC Langtree finally offered him a permanent contract to play for them. It looks like he likes being in Mercedini at the moment.
IMPORTANT: This player should be referred as Salvatore to differentiate him from his brother Sebastiano Pelucci.

HOME STADIUM (ARENA MARINOS, PORT THIMPODOPOULOS)
Image
Arena Marinos is the home ground of both FC Marinos Thimpodopoulos, which plays in Abanhfleft's Premier League (first level of the Fleftic football league system) and the Fhulghamous Peninsula national football team. It has a total capacity of 35,673 spectators. Now back in service after a magnitude 6.2 earthquake caused part of the stadium's roof to collapse and devastated the capital city of the colony, necessitating a lot of repairs.

RICHARD DAWKINS PARK, THEREISNOGODABAD

Richard Dawkins Park has a capacity of 23,171 spectators. Following a magnitude 6.2 earthquake that devastated Port Thimpodopoulos, all Fhulghamous Peninsula home matches were held in RDP in Thereisnogodabad while repairs were being made on Arena Marinos. With Arena Marinos now fixed, both the Fhulghamous Peninsula Football Association and Thereisnogodistan FC have reached an agreement in which RDP will serve as an alternate venue for national team games in recognition for the time that Richard Dawkins Park served as the home stadium of the national team following the earthquake.

THE CHIEFDOM OF COPPER CUPRUM
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

This is the nth time that Copper Cuprum will be participating in the Campionato Esportiva. Copper Cuprum had been long isolated from the international community since it is a small island archipelago located deep in the middle of the Lazarus Ocean, far from any regular shipping lanes since man first sailed ships. The nation was only discovered by the Fleftic Navy in 1914, when they were searching for the daughter of President Rufus Wole Mensah, whose ship was wrecked in the general vicinity of the islands. Arriving in the capital of the islands, they discovered that Chief Zed had made the President's daughter his queen, generating a sudden alliance between the two countries. And Copper Cuprum was also rich in copper, so that was a good thing for Abanhfleft too...

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation:
The Chiefdom of Copper Cuprum
Demonym: Copperite
Kits: The Copper Cuprum national football team does not wear any kits as ordinary people know them. Instead they play wearing only white loincloths, studded shoes, shin guards. The keeper also has gloves along with the aforementioned kit.
Team colors: Black and white
Style modifier: +1.00 (A balanced team with a slight focus on offense)
Formation: 4-5-1
Head coach: Jefferson Kalangitan (56 y/o, Oontaz)
Notes: It is Copperite tradition to slit the throat of a live chicken before a game and then spread the spilled blood on the field. However, after the Valladar authorities advised the Copperite Football Federation against performing this tradition after local audiences were shocked by this tradition, it has been decided that in place of this tradition, Copperite players will now cut off the head of a rubber chicken before a game and then toss the head around like a hot potato. However, Copperite players will now perform the chicken sacrificing ritual whether or not the other team likes it. The Copperites hope to turn this tradition into their version of the haka. Also, this is Kalangitan's first head managing job after the Malabon SC assistant manager accepted to take over the Copperite side following the sacking of Duke Dorogi Dorogo due to the team's poor results in the Campionato Esportiva.

STARTERS
GK: Enera TEMOYO
38 y/o, Athletic Wa Gon Image
Quite short for a keeper, but he does the job well enough to be the starting keeper for Athletic Wa Gon, the marquee team of the Copper Cuprum National League. But this doesn't mean much as the National League is considered as the least competitive of the leagues in the countries within Abanhfleft's sphere of influence.

RB: Tumoka BATUBA 34 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz North End Image (Abanhfleft)
Solid right back, but still quite raw for his age. Sometimes advances a little too far into the offense to the other backs' liking. Thinks of himself as a wingback, but simply doesn't have the speed or the feet to get quickly between offense and defense and can't make a cross to save his life. Still gets lucky sometimes, though.

RCB: Ziketsy TUKUKU 25 y/o, Copper Cuprum Halal Commission Image

LCB: Derek CHIDAGI 35 y/o, Miroz Old Boys Image (Abanhfleft)
An immigrant to Abanhfleft that decided to play for his motherland after all. He's probably the only really good defender in this lot, and therefore bears the brunt of the defensive work for the team. He still has his problems, though, meaning that he will think nothing of tripping up any opposing players that are goalbound. Will probably concede a lot of penalties.

LB: Esteke INANUK 39 y/o, Handon United Image (Schottia)
Not really the best defender in Copper Cuprum, but certainly not the worst one either. Truth be told, though, he only looks good because many of his other teammates are shit. Placed in a world-class back line, he'd be the first player that disappears from notice. But when Inanuk performs well, he performs well and in a sublime manner. Earned a well-deserved move to Handon United in Schottia where he has been quietly doing his job as always.

RM: Boyote TOROTO 36 y/o, Sporting Busov Image (Abanhfleft)
Holds the midfield good enough, but still makes mistakes from time to time. Attacks from time to time but really hinders more than helps.

CM: Tabaré ZUÑIGA 39 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image (Abanhfleft)
Now that Prince Deg's favoritism for members of his personal retinue his injury woes have finally been cleared up, Tabaré is finally getting that well-deserved spot in the starting eleven, but it may have come too late for Copper Cuprum though, as Tabaré's already 34 at this point in time and he's not going to get any younger. He used to be more of a box-to-box midfielder but age has caught up with Tabaré and the team now relies on him being the rock in the midfield between the Copperite defense and the opposition's attack.

LM: Morefor TOFODO 38 y/o, General Santos F.C. Image (Oontaz)
Doesn't show up in big games, yet doesn't show up in minor games also. Surprising why he got included in the starting eleven at all. The fact that he's part of Prince Deg's retinue may have something to do with it, though. But now we know why Tofodo starts for Copper Cuprum: it's because of his wicked good set pieces. Free kicks, corner kicks, penalty kicks (when Prince Deg is unavailable, of course); you name it, Morefor Tofodo can actually take it.

RW: Opatop LAZAROVSKI 35 y/o, Sheriff Tiraspol Image (Pridnestrovia)
Half Pridnestrovian and half Copperite, he almost played for his father's country before Prince Deg conferred upon him a peerage that convinced him to play for Copper Cuprum. He is a half-decent winger that nevertheless will not be able to get into the starting eleven of any other nation in the world.

CF: Chief DEG 37 y/o, unattached, captain
The Chief of Copper Cuprum himself. Chief Deg is also the head of the Copperite Football Federation, a position that he created by royal decree after creating the federation, also by royal decree. He bills himself as "the best center forward in the multiverse," but so far he hasn't done anything to back up that claim. At the moment, even Abanhfleft's Kareem Dagen plays better than Chief Deg.

LW: Tyrone ZUDAZET 38 y/o, Gyouza Young Lads Image (Abanhfleft)
Another member of Prince Deg's retinue that nevertheless deserves his place in the starting eleven. A landed noble with a barony under his fief, Zudazet is half-Fleftic and plays for a club in the Democratic Republic while at the same time flying the Copperite flag proudly.

SUBSTITUTES
GK: Nikoba LOBATO
24 y/o, Athletic Wa Gon Image

GK: Torege BITAMBO 33 y/o, Sporting Busov Image (Abanhfleft)
Backup keeper, currently serving as Temoyo's understudy. Could become next national keeper if something very bad happens to Temoyo. Luck (and time) don't appear to be on his side though as he has been displaced from backup keeper to reserve goalkeeper by Temoyo's actual understudy from Athletic Wa Gon, Nikoba Lobato.

DEF: Tenoka ITORO 36 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi Image (Oontaz)
Described by Prince Deg himself as "The Big Man." Competes with Desoka for the honor of being like Adebayo "The Beast" Akinfenwa. Pushes opponents left and right for a bit of morning exercise. And don't get me started on calisthenics.

DEF: Lazar DENISOV 24 y/o, Admiral Tuzla Image (Pridnestrovia)

DEF: Idaran SOBODO 38 y/o, Pamunas F.C. Image (Abanhfleft)
Some of the players in the reserves are only there because there is a need by the World Cup Committee to have enough substitutes in every position. Sobodo is filling in for one of those emergency positions. But looking beyond Prince Deg's obvious favoritism tough task of organizing a capable Copperite team, Sobodo does have his uses, mainly attracting yellow cards and red cards from the referee. But when he doesn't find his name in the book, Sobodo does a good enough job of pumping crosses into the box and tripping up the opposition players trying to do the same in the Copperite box.

CM: Amitu SUDEBA 33 y/o, Ken Gon United Image

MID: Sitere BUWATA 34 y/o, Duhblakk Rovers Image (Abanhfleft)
This kid has a future in midfield, what with his flashy playmaking style. He's only in defense because he's been put there by the Fleftics at Duhblakk. Turns out that was only a move to improve the defensive side of his game, and with six years gone, surely Buwata has finally hit his peak?

MID: Umaga HAROBA 32 y/o, Athletic Wa Gon Image

MID: Paul MAGINOO 23 y/o, General Santos F.C. Image (Oontaz)

FW: Aramok TODEYET 34 y/o, Union Rheinburg Image (Pridnestrovia)
We need backup forwards, even though none of them can possibly replace Prince Deg in the starting eleven, unless of course the Prince gets injured.

FW: Douglas JAMESON 24 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image (Abanhfleft)

FW: Wesley WEYLER 24 y/o, FC Afa-az Image (Abanhfleft)
