Lt. Mark Conrad. 55th Infantry 6th Marines, three days after the assault of Anavokia.

They were walking through a city. It was around 5:30 with the sun just peaking through the buildings. They walked with little resistance striding through the city center with small pockets of resistance from the small battle groups of soldiers they came across. They reached a ally. They stood against the wall and peaked around the corner. A bullet wizzed by his head five people were behind defenses shooting at the soldiers.

BRING UP THE TANK! he yelled back at them. As he said this the metallic sound of the tank moving could be heard coming from behind the line of soldiers who had been clearing buildings and pushing forwards slowly throughout the night. As the tank reached the front it turned its gun into the allyway and one of its cannons started its rhythmic fire. When it stopped no more bullets could be heard coming from the allyway. Only in the distance as more and more Imperial soldiers marched through the cities and towns. The small groups of Anavokian soldiers had tried everything to slow the advances of the Imperials but almost all had resulted in a failure. Most just resulting in more colateral damage to their own belongings. It would not be easy for long but they had to move quickly to get their footing in Anavokia.

President Joseph Henry, Imperial Building, Seve City, Sevevill

Today Sevevill formally invites nations Treko and Slaveška into the Southwest Bloc. Regaurding them as allies in the conflict in Anavokia as well as being fellow nations on the same continent as them. I hope the accept the offer as it would be a honor to have them as a ally in conflicts to come.

The Sevevillian Imperial Navy has today seen one of its brave pilots needlessly make the final sacrifice in service to his country. While operating an unarmed SG-80N on routine policing duties, Captain Stephen Black was shot down in cold blood by Rudon fighters due to an honest navigation error. The Imperial Navy has said that Rudon aircraft did not attempt to contact Black’s plane before shooting it down, which they see as an outrageous overstepping of authority.

Unarmed Imperial jets have, over the last days, been performing dozens of sorties to observe the neutral seas between Rudony and Sjovenia, ensuring no illegal movements are taking place. Unfortunately, with such a high volume of planes in an area of overlapping jurisdictions, one may occasionally, by no fault of the pilot, slip across an arbitrarily drawn line and open himself up to the wrath of a crackpot government.

The government of Sevevill is demanding a full apology and compensation for this completely disproportionate attack, seeking both repayment for the loss of their plane and a full consolation package to be to the widow of Captain Stephen Black. They have given Rudony twenty four hours to comply.

In the meantime, the Sevevillian fleet off Rudony has quietly broken contact and slipped away into the great haystack which is the sea. Submarines intended to patrol near Oceania have received clandestine orders to reroute for a new aggressor against the Empire.

The Rudon Imperial Navy has reported that a Sevevillian pilot had entered Rudon airspace and as warned, was promptly shot down for violating Rudon airspace. The plane recovered was fully armed and the Captain's body was found aswell and without hesitation sent back to Sevevill through civilian means. Captain Black's plane was contacted before being shot down and was asked to leave Rudon airspace immediately and would not be warned twice. The Sevevillian plane continued its course without an indication of turning away nor a reply.

The Grand Admiral of the Rudon Navy has stated that even if the plane was not armed, it was still a violation of the line drawn that Sevevill was not to cross. The Grand Admiral also commented that if it was truly a navigational error and not a prod to provoke, then Sevevill should not be making threats of war towards the nation. The Empress has agreed in her own statement and further added that any more ships and planes that cross the Rudon sea border will be destroyed and seen as a declaration of war.

Now that full time has been given for the Rudon Imperial navy to completely prepare, the armed forces of Rudony have been declared fully mobilised and have begun to patrol Rudon waters with marines stationed on every island of Rudony. The fungal plague has been thwarted again with Allanean aid workers coating infected areas in bleach, further beating back the infection. Death rates still rise however now reaching 5000 civilian deaths but very few new infections. Currently, there are roughly 76,000 accounted for infected individuals. Many worry that if more aid is not found, that these peoples' fates are sealed.

Attacks on ports continue

The port of Bayala was attacked today by elements of the Imperial Navy, despite the heroic efforts of the Bayala Air Defense Regiment. A large amount of damage was inflicted upon the port’s facilities. This latest attack is the byproduct of a campaign by Sevevill to destroy and degrade our ability to support our allies abroad, against Sevevill’s imperialist ambitions.

Off the Coast of Ameria and Stannebourg
"Orders from Command!" The Crew sprang to attention, eager for vengeance.
"Corvette Galedon is to link up with RASS Résolue and Corvette Hermedies for an immediate counter attack to locate and destroy all enemy submersibles in our coastal waters."
"All sailors to battle stations!" The alarms rang out, men and women scampering across the decks, arming themselves with body armor and rifles, others running to their stations to man guns or sonar and radar systems.
10 Minutes later the 3-ship battlegroup is formed. Several Anti-Submarine Warfare Helicopters take off from the flight deck of the Résolue, while the Galedon and Hermedies search the sea.
"Captain, Sonar reports signatures of an enemy submarine bearing 233, roughly moving at 25 knots."
"Adjust Course to 233, alert the other ships that we are detaching to engage the enemy."
"Adjusting Course to 233 Helm Aye Sir!" The Helmsman yelled out.
The Glow of red lights illuminated the ship's bridge as it plowed through the waves.
"Prepare to launch 2 Torpedo's, make both Active."
"Aye, sir!" The Officer repeated the command through the ship to the Torpedo Operators.
"Signature is becoming much clearer sir, do we engage."
"How far are we from the enemy submarine?"
"We are within 10000 yards, sir."
"Fire the torpedoes."
"Fire the torpedo's Aye sir."

The Killbox
An Armada of warships has been assembling in the waters around Ameria and Stannebourg, while the Air Force launched attacks on the blockade surrounding the UCSO. It had taken a very long time to assemble this fleet, time that the United City-States of Oceania did not have to spare. But it was finally ready, setting out at full speed. Because the fleet was assembled in such a ramshackle fashion, the High Command hadn't the time to conjure up a name for such a force. They looked to the relief expedition sent to the Green Union for answers.
Task Force Nord Lumière was the moniker it sailed under. But this simply did not fit this fleet. A Solution was found however, the Sailors themselves pitched the idea to their leaders who suggested it to high command. Not wanting to risk lowering the morale of the lower ranking seamen who have yet to prove themselves, they agreed with them. Task Force Southern Light was born.
Fighters screeched overhead as the task force moved into the Killbox, past the Allanean battlegroup standing guard at the entrance. Soon more planes from Allanea and Auman would join them.

The depravity of Rudony’s government apparently knows no bounds, as Sevevill has protested that the corpse sent to them is not that of Stephen Black at all. DNA testing on the mangled remains show zero correlation whatsoever.

This is not wholly surprising, as Black’s SG-80N was struck at cruising altitude before falling nearly 30,000 feet towards the open ocean. The government of Sevevill would under normal circumstances be skeptical that Rudon coastal authorities had been able to recover anything of note, but are at this point completely dismissive of the claims made about armament and attempting contact.

The Sevevillian Imperial Navy has released its own hard evidence, including photos of the clearly unarmed SG-80N taking off on its last mission as well as radio communications between Black and the carrier just before his death. The authenticity of the photos was confirmed by a civilian news crew who were present at the time, while the radio conversation transcribes Black obliviously conversing with his controllers before suddenly becoming aware that he was under attack and, moments later, disappearing from communications.

With this death of a brave pilot sending a ripple of indignation across the Sevevillian Empire, the Imperial Navy has been forced to action. Even at this moment, as a pre-planned night raid of stealth bombers and nuclear submarines make their final approaches, President Joseph Henry gave a press conference to announce the commencement of Operation: Black Revenge. The speech was short, and to many tired listeners only the last statement really mattered:

“An eye for an eye; it’s only fair.”

Behind the protective patrols of the Allanean and Altosian navies, under the air defense envelopes deployed by multiple nation, the Killbox once again began to fill up with ships and aircraft – cargo ships, cargo submarines, cargo helicopters, cargo planes, fighter jet escorts. Above them, the vast atomic cargo planes that the Allaneans and Aumanii brought in soared, their engines roaring a roar of defiance. At this distance, the Allanean planes' vast atomic engines did not even need to be powered – the roar was produced by their auxiliaries, internal combustion engines usually were meant to carry the planes through takeoff and landing.

Colonel Samuel Petrovich Kirilenko stepped down onto Oceanian ground again – this time, on an abandoned, and now useless, farmer's field. With the land poisoned by Sevevillean chemical weapons, it was now available for landing for his aircraft. As he looked around, and saw Oceanian airfield workers approach, he noted with satisfaction they used somewhat healthier than last time.

"Good day, gentlemen." – he told them.

Behind him, one of his stealth cargo planes opened the ramp. In it were pallets, and on them were large, white drums, the same types used to store fuel, or water, or in this case food.

"What we've got here is emergency formula for infants! Put it on a truck and get it to the hospital! And get ready to handle a lot more drums like these ones."

"How many more?" – asked one of the airport men

– "All of them." – replied Kirilenko, and pointed West. There, the hum of the engines was already building.

* * *

Several hours later

It was true, of course, that many of the airports in Oceania had runway damage. The Allaneans were now hard at work rebuilding several of them, recruiting local workers with bulldozers to do basic repairs, or simply unrolling a fast-deployment runway mat to cover the gaps in the runways. In the fields just past the airfields themselves, several of the atomic cargo craft had landed. Two of them would not take off again for weeks – their landing gear had been damaged by the hard impacts – but the fact was that they landed.

Each of them was full of brightly-colored drums – some white, filled with emergency milk formula for children, others blue, filled with buckwheat or rice. Each such plane meant thousands of these drums, or perhaps an ample supply of other food.

The Free Kingdom Ministry of War Department of Recruitment and Public Relations had also been involved – and it had thought up a simple modification for an old song, which would soon play at every Allanean camp, and at every radio station in Oceania that agreed to play it.

We are coming, Oceanians, with many tons of stores,
From Liberty-City's winding streets and from the Prussian shores,
We leave our clubs and offices, our wives and children dear,
With hearts too full for utterance, with but a silent tear.
We dare not look behind us but steadfastly before.
We are coming, Oceanians, with ten thousand barrels more!

CHORUS: We are coming, we are coming, trade's flow to restore,
We are coming, Oceanians, with ten thousand barrels more!

But it would be a bad aid effort if it brought in only two, or even three, types of food. Small Army field kitchens, with their teams, were soon deploying in Oceanian cities – by the evening, on the country's Western coast, and later on they would spread out throughout the country.

And what they had was a treasure beyond price. It was meat, brought in frozen and packaged in compressed blocks.

Image

What remained was to saw the meat into small blocks, add some salt or perhaps spices, boil it in a broth, and hand out the broth to any Oceanians that cared to queue for it. It was perhaps not the finest of foods – but for people who had been on literal starvation rations for weeks it was the feast of kings.

If you look towards the sea-swaves that meet the Western sky,
Long moving ranks of ships and planes your vision may descry;
And now the wind, an instant, tears the cloudy veil aside,
And floats aloft our Star-Crown Flag in glory and in pride;
And planes' wings in the sunlight gleam, and bands brave music pour,
We are coming, Oceanians, with ten thousand barrels more!

In the ports in the east, the Sea Cow was breaching once again, as well as its sister ship – the Great Auk. Their holds were filled with treasure – golden rice, its grains gleaming in yellow. It had engineered to contain precursor chemicals, which, when digested, would turn into vitamins that malnourished Oceanian children now lacked – twenty thousand tons.

Among the food supplies were also military men – small groups for now, of advisors, engineers, doctors. Everyone knew, however, that more would come.

And the Allaneans knew also that the Aumanii and Altosians were also coming.

You have called us, and we're coming by the Killbox' bloody tide,
To bravely fight for freedom's sake, our fellow man beside;
From genocidal murderous claw, to wrench the murderous blade;
And in the face of foreign foes its fragments to parade.
Though thousands of loyal men and true have gone before,
We are coming, Oceanians, with ten thousand barrels more!

The Free Kingdom of Allanea mocks and laughs at the recent Sevevillean statement.

It is well establishment that nations have a right to engage, with armed force, any aircraft breaching their international space without announcing its identity, especially military aircraft, but even airliners. A lack of detectable weapons means absolutely nothing in this context because, first of all, there are ways to deceive an observer about the presence of weapons, and second, because aircraft themselves can be used as weapons of war and terrorism, and have been, literally thousands of times in history, including by genocidal regimes.

Which, by the way, Seveville is. We repeat once more that the Empire of Seveville has attempted genocide with varying degrees of success at numerous incidents before, and is attempting one even now in Oceania.

We would like to, moreover, dedicate the following song to the Rudonian and the Oceanian fighting men:

Be healthy, live well, add more wealth to your house!
Crush the Sev murderer like a barn mouse!
Chase those pirates, shoot them and beat them!
Pour on the bombs and the bullets and mayhem!

We hope our allies do a good job –
Each kill ten men of this awful mob!
But if you put down far more than a dozen –
We won't be opposed and nobody will mourn 'em!

Janissian Main Island

It was a beautiful sunny day in Janissero as the sun peeked between the clouds. Down below the islands stood out like a sore thumb agains the shimmering blue background of the sea. The only thing to break both the natural landscape in the sea and in the Air was the occasional Cargo ship coming to and from the ports. In the sky intermittent aircraft took turns taking off and landing.

The relatively small nation mostly kept to itself and rightfully so. It’s Armed Forces was nothing to boast about, a small Air Force of roughly five squadrons (120 Aircraft), and an even smaller Army. The Navy on the other hand, albeit nothing crazy, was capable of defending the island and then some. The nation was a protectorate of Slaveška and had always been so since roughly 1938.

The calm of every day life was usually never interrupted aside from the occasional military exercises conducted jointly with Slaveška. Once a year a major Naval Exercise (Black Serpent) was conducted which included both nations as well as a select few who had also wanted to partake.

Now that the Slaveškan Air Force opened an Air Base on one of the islands patrols were a little more common, as were exercises. The Ministry of the Slaveškan Air Force (MSAF) and the Janissian Air Defense Force (JADF) conducted Blue Flag in Janissero and Red Flag in Slaveška. Red Flag was set to kick off in a couple of weeks and Janissero’s best were hand picked for the competition.

The Sevevillian Imperial Navy, continually smarting from missile attacks in the waters between Oceania and Altos, has today celebrated a great success in the form of a devastating air and sea raid on a number of Altosian and Stratisian ports. This daring assault, the navy has said, will be sure to seriously impact the rogue powers’ ability to launch naval expeditions for weeks or months to come.

Of course, the public address glossed over the fact that two Sevevillian nuclear submarines were sunk in the raid, and even at this time, as the enemy’s naval power should have been notably diminished, the largest pro-UCSO fleet was already sailing towards Oceania in open defiance of the Sevevillian blockade.

Both of these facts were troubling, but the Empire was still confident in its ability to react. The Imperial Navy knew days in advance about the existence of Southern Light and its Allanean backers, not least of all because they could watch sailors debating its name in real time on social media. And as such, they were more than ready when the task force began to move.

The Imperial blockade fleet, having withdrawn mostly to the eastern coast of Oceania to preserve its ships, now came back in force to contest the coalition’s Killbox. They would envelop from the north and south and destroy the coalition’s fleet with the full might of the combined Sevevillian and Urilas forces, then leave the survivors to struggle back to damaged ports which were no longer capable of servicing them.

Durradon wrote:Sevevillian Coup Attempt Uncovered

Early this week, Confederate Security (CONSEC) uncovered a plot to overthrow the current government and replace it with a Sevevillian puppet government. It is unknown at this time how they were to go about this but Sevevillian special forces agents were found in the country which led to the discovery of an entire network of agents, all Sevevillian. Most fled the country or went to ground and CONSEC is currently rooting them out, but one agent was caught and now in CONSEC custody. The Prime Minister commented, saying that it was one thing to attack Durranese merchant ships, but to attempt to attack Durradon on its own soil is truly a great violation. The confederate government will be bringing these concerns to the Kamooko Pact and are encouraging all member states to look to their own nations for Sevevillian agents.

The CSD has further cut trade deals with Sevevill, blocked all flights coming to and from the nation, and have expunged the Sevevillian embassy until further notice. Confederate Defence Forces are on the road to full mobilisation with current forces at 75% capability. Quick reaction forces have already begun to patrol the CSD's coasts in anticipation of an invasion from the South West Bloc, now growing larger with every passing day, finding allies in unlikely places.

The Confederate government is also thanking and congratulating the NWA and Rudony for joining the war against the SWB, surely the more political pressure put under Sevevill will force them to concede.

The government of Sevevill has dismissed these false claims by the untrustworthy authorities in Durradon. The evidence brought against the Empire in this case is circumstantial at best, as the Durranese have offered no proof of the so-called spy network, or even that the one Sevevillian citizen in custody is an agent of the government.

The Sevevillian Imperial Navy and the government of Urilas have vowed to keep the Urilas straits, the most important trade route in Markion, closed to all Durranese shipping until the country apologizes for these false accusations. The Imperial Navy has further vowed to continue hunting Durranese ships suspected of sending grain as war materiel to the rogue islands of Altos and Stratis.

At the same time as this official response was being distributed, there was the unofficial reality of the situation. A considerable amount of military equipment was still lined up for clandestine distribution to the 54i, and it would now be wasteful to simply integrate them back into official stockpiles. Fortunately, there were plenty of other elements which would like the chance to remove a pesky KP member.

Intelligence efforts in Ionis, many of which were sent to establish a conduit with the 54i, were now to be diverted to Kaltura.

The Green Union wrote:Maj. Liso Glace, Souteastern September Island:

Things were beginning to go very poorly on September Island. The Sevevillians had their toehold, and despite their main forces still being bottled up due to the poor infrastructure of their landing sites, a few light infantry units were continuing to advance almost as quickly as they could march. The SIDF was in full retreat, quickly breaking from every hasty battle line even when attacked by inferior enemies. Only the human limitation of their legs and bellies had stopped them coving the entire island by now.

Their jeep convoy raced back as quickly as possible towards September City. Once there, they would need to prepare a defence to buy time. They had to hold out until . . . well, all they could hope for was that something would happen to turn the tide.

“Get me on the line with Captain Brayfield.” Liso muttered, rubbing her eyes. Most of the command had tried to get at least a bit of sleep over the last day and a half of fighting, but their major had had no such luxury. A mix of coffee and duty was the only thing keeping this island from falling.

“Ma’am? Came the steady voice of the Captain across their spotty radio, “The demolitions are almost complete. The fuel stores are primed to blow, and we’ve chopped up, buried, or crushed as many small arms as possible, though a lot of locals have kept coming to take them too.”

“What about the airfields?” Glace tried to suppress a yawn, “You had that job.”

“It’s going to be hard to get them back in operation. We tried digging some holes, but it took too long. Now they’ve got lots of burned out vehicles and other junk nailed into them. Should be out of action for a few days.”

This, at least, was good news “Okay, okay, so finish up with that. Then I need you to get-“

Out of nowhere, three of the vehicles ahead of them exploded. Metal shards shattered glass in their jeep. A spray of blood went everywhere.

“Airstrike!” someone yelled.

“Get us out of here!”

But the police officer driving them did no such thing. He was slumped over the wheel, blood and other bodily materials dripping to the floor. Another bomb landed. The jeep was thrown into the air.

Capt. Marcus Brayfield, September City, September Island:

There were screams and then silence. Despite his desperate calls, Major Glace did not speak to him again. The line was dead.

Marc just stared forward, refusing to take the receiver away from his ear. It was the unseeing sort of gaze, devoid of understanding. If he had been awake he may have even enjoyed the sight. The sun was shining in what was shaping up to be a gorgeous morning, with the light reflecting off the nearby brick towers of September City. If he was awake, Marc may have seen some resemblance to the view from his street back in Warm Bay, Urlistan.

Actually, thinking of Urlistan right now may not be ideal either.

The Green Union officer did not know how long he stood there, staring without seeing, before he was lightly touched on the shoulder by someone else. He started.

“Um, sir?” The young soldier said, “New orders?”

“Yes. Blow all the charges. Now.”

His subordinate started at the curtness. “But Major Glace said to only do that if Sevevillians appeared or we lost contac-“

“I know what she said, and we’re following those orders. Now destroy everything of military value on this rock.”

The battle of September City has begun as the remnants of the September Island Defence Force and their Kamooko Pact allies rally in the capital for a desperate stand. Repeatedly scattered and lacking clear direction, the defenders of the island have nonetheless secured the survival of most of their remaining heavy weapons. A respectable net of anti-aircraft defences now guards September’s interior, while the remaining regiments of light and mechanized infantry, in addition to a small cadre of armoured cars and tanks, prepare for the inevitable.

Image
SIDF soldiers, with morale crumbling, continue to fight scattered engagements during their battered retreat toward the capital

While strong, the Imperial invasion is significantly behind schedule due to the SIDF’s scorched earth policy when it comes to their island’s already insufficient transportation infrastructure. In addition to being forced to repair numerous bridges, roads, and rail lines, the first wave of invading forces have been bogged down with processing the droves of SIDF prisoners being captured every day. Ahead of their own logistics and often lacking even small vehicles, these light infantry units have been delayed hours or days until military police and prisoner transports arrive to relieve them.

Capt. Marcus Brayfield, North of September City, September Island:

Thick clouds of smoke of their own creation hung over September City as their small column of trucks, black cars, and two precious APCs raced north. With them was all the Kamooko Pact civilians and national government officials which could be gathered together under such short notice, and while Marc had received no explicit instructions to evacuate them, he was now convinced that all competent leadership was gone and his own initiative would have to suffice.

It was clear to him that these officials could not be allowed to stay put as Sevevillian troops overran their position. The country’s president, who sat next to Marc in the lead jeep, was notable in that Brayfield had mostly been forced to manhandle him into the vehicle. But ultimately, this was for the greater good. If the Sevevillians intended to seize September Island, he had to make sure that at least some escaped to continue the fight.

But how were they supposed to escape, exactly? It was a gamble, for sure, but Brayfield had sent a message through to Kamooko. Someone may just be able to convince those Altosian and Stratisian helicopters to come back.

The Kamooko Defence Command has today reported a successful defence of the Durranese civilian freighter Heibai off the west coast of Albatan, allowing the freighter to deliver its cargo of rice and other goods to Altos and Stratis. The Heibai and its Persistor-Class escort were spotted by a Sevevillian SG-87 warplane off the west coast of Albatan, having taken a roundabout route from Placeoderms in an attempt to avoid confrontation. They were followed, with the Sevevillian jet eventually attempting to make an attack run.

That SG-87 was forced to abandon its hunt after the frigate Chaser fired a surface-to-air missile, chasing it off.

Since Sevevill began targeting Durranese shipping on its way to Altos and Stratis, a total of five freighters have been sunk by Sevevillian and Urilas fighters and maritime patrol aircraft. Most of these attacks were conducted with dumb, lightweight munitions, ranging from freefall bombs to 25mm cannons. It is suspected that, in order to widen their net, the Southwest Bloc powers are loading up aircraft with excessive drop tanks and skimping on armament.

The Empire of Sevevill is outraged at the Kamooko Pact for militarily backing Durradon in its misguided support of the rogue pro-UCSO states. Having the gall to fire on a Sevevillian aircraft, especially one engaged in legitimate policing duties, is an inexcusable offense.

Since it is now clear that the KP values obedience to their biggest member over doing what is right, the governments of Sevevill and its province of Diyaristan have been forced to make a tough call. They have decided that the KP mission in southern Diyaristan is no longer compatible with the interests of a free society, and are demanding all those on the KP payroll be out of the country within a week. Those who remain will be treated as traitors to the Empire and punished as such.

The Hamara Administration of Diyaristan has reassured citizens that not much will be lost by the departing of the Kamooko Pact, as their tiny effort in Diyaristan was always ineffective and probably helped rebels more than the government. This change, he says, will open the door for much more decisive action against rebel traitors.

Many observers have disagreed with President Hamara, noting that the KP-backed Mount Kula Administration Zone has probably been the most successful authority in Diyaristan.

Subject: Kamooko Pact ascension and cooperation talks

To whom it may concern,

The Republic of Altos and Stratis would like to express its interest in undertaking talks with the KP (Kamooko Pact) on further cooperation and discuss the ascension of the republic to a full alliance member.

Sincerely,

The Republic of Altos and Stratis

Kamooko Pact officials have today welcomed representatives from Altos and Stratis to a summit in the Apollo Events Centre, Las Batan, Albatan, coincidentally also the site of the first September Island peace conference. With the uncertainty posed by Sevevillian patrols in the area, there was a great deal of anxiety amongst security planners about what to do in the case of an interception, but all delegates’ planes arrived safely. KP and A&S officials are to meet here in an attempt at reconciliation after recent difficulties.

The Right Honourable Charlotte Fried, still seen as the prime minister of the Green Union and emergent acting leader of the exiled PGU, took some questions from reporters outside the centre where she indicated a desire to settle the score.

“The Altosians and Stratisians have an independent streak which makes them risky to partner with,” She responded after being asked whether these islanders were to be trusted, “but our government will not sign any deal which does not pacify their threat. We will definitely not ignore the harm they have already caused.”

Media in Placeoderms has largely vilified Altos and Stratis for being the first to violate September Island’s neutrality, and therefore bringing Sevevill’s attention there. Albatan, the victim of two separate Sevevillian occupations in the past, has seen public opinion turn anxious at the prospect that they may once again be targets for the Imperial war machine.

The status of the KP “effort” to protect September Island is not giving many people confidence.

North East of the Killbox

The Allanean air regiments were now taking off at once – four dozen Warhawk strike fighters. This was something no carrier could do – a force of almost fifty planes, all taking off at once. They climbed as they flew towards their targets, their radios silent – they required no radar to detect their foe, as this foe would instead be tracked by satellites and ground-ased radar.

As they were within five hundred kilometers of the enemy's Northern task force, they launched their weapons – each, with two anti-ship missiles on board. Like before, they carried also decoys – vast quantities of miniature decoys, filling the air with dozens and dozens of false contacts, each of those appearing to be a missile bound for the Sevevillean frigates.

Each frigate's air defense crew had to and choose their targets – each had about ten contacts inbound towards it – which were real, and which were fake? Only one of each contacts

Then there was each frigate captain's call – would they protect themselves, or their carriers?

For both arsenal ships that the Allaneans brought along would now be firing their weapons – not all of them, yet, but about a hundred anti-ship missiles each. They were putting themselves at a substantial risk in doing so, for they could not literally fire those missiles all at once. At best, they could take off in rapid succession, one or two missiles every dozen seconds, staggering them to avoid fratricide.

The missiles flew towards their target on preprogrammed routes, and as they approached, they switched on their photo seekers – diving in to the pre-programmed image of the Dominator II aircraft carrier.

This put the Sevevillean captains in a serious pickle – would they save their own lives, or protect the Dominator II? And how to make the right choice in an environment where all common Sevevillean radar and radio frequencies were being jammed?

In his office, Grand Admiral McConaughey shuddered. He would not want to be facing that sort of test himself.

OOC Event summary:

1. Allanean Warhawk fighters/tactical bombers are firing anti-ship missiles from standoff range at the enemy frigates. They maintain radio silence and are being guided onto target by shore assets. Each Sevevillean frigate in the Northern fleet is being targeted with 1-2 missiles (there are 84 missiles but because there's 49 frigates they can't be divided evenly) as well as a bunch of MALD decoys
2. The Allanean arsenal ships are spamming a vast pile of anti-ship missiles at the Dominator II.
3. All electronic warfare measures continue to be used.

Air Base Tarek Byalach was a busy place, but the energy in the last several hours turned frenetic. Air crews had been scrambled and pilots raced to their seats and munitions were loaded onto pylons. All Aumanii aircraft were placed on alert, the convoys were halted and the men prepared for battle. Sevevillian naval forces had been detected to the Northeast of Altos and Stratis, the time for decisive action was now.

Captain Denk Hapsford was once again in the seat, fresh out of a lightning fast bullet point briefing with his men. They formed up in groups of four on the tarmac, their engines idling as they waited for the all clear. He was on edge, fingers tingling with excitement on the throttle.

The plan was straightforward. Two groups of sixty would attack in three waves each. The first group would come in low and attack the enemy's air defense screen, the frigates mostly. The second group would move in to attack the carriers once the anti-aircraft defenses were deteriorated.

"C'mon, let's go!" He muttered to himself, taxiing down the runway to his jump off position. He was joined by three more Si-22MK from his squadron, all piloted by his close friends... Men and women he had flown together with for years. Flight Leftenant Dave 'Chigger' Iatemoyo pulled up next to him and flashed his middle finger at the Captain. Denk laughed and saluted right back. Checking his mirrors, he saw that the rest of his team was right behind them, loaded for bear with anti-ship missiles and torpedoes. It was his job, along with Chigger, to keep enemy fighters off their back and ride their six o'clock position... Should they fail to score any hits against the Sevevillain ships, Denk's plane had a pair of Harpoon's of it's own that he could add to the attack if he chose to. Iatemoyo was loaded up for air-to-air exclusively. Taking off after them were five identical flights in this wave alone.

It was a big attack. All told, by the end of the day, over a hundred and twenty planes will sortie against Sevevill's Northern Battle Group. The tower gave them the go ahead and Denk jammed the throttle, racing his partner for the honor to be the first one airborne. Iatemoyo edged him out by a hair. They flew low and fast towards the coast and broke out over the water in a blink. The water was smooth as a sheet of glass. Over his shoulder, he could see ground based batteries spitting missiles from a thin isthmus in the direction they were headed. In time, they'd split off and loop around, hugging the waves to avoid detection. The other half of his team, crewed by Leftenants Griegg 'Spike' Delpuid and Cathy 'Iron Tits' Bellalugos forged ahead of them.

"Alright folks, keep your eyes peeled. We can't rely on Sky God for everything." Denk said over the squadron band. Mics clicked in understanding. They were entering Indian country and there was a very real chance they'd get jumped. Sky God, their early warning aircraft, was painting a real clear picture of the battlefield for them, though. To put it aptly, Sevevill's Northern Battle Group was getting hammered. Everything, including the kitchen sink, was being thrown their way. In what seemed like a few brief seconds, Bellalugos and Delpuid were calling their shots. Harpoon anti-ship missiles were streaking towards the waterlines of Sevevillian screening frigates. Denk's backseater was watching the screens and calling out misses. Eight missiles from his team alone were launched, the rest of the squadron put out another thirty two, which were streaking in from multiple angles of attack and various altitudes.

"Uh... We've lost three. Make that four." Called out Munitions Officer Palask from Denk's rear.

"Two hits to the waterline. I'm seeing smoke."

Denk caught a glance towards the horizon as he banked his plane in for an attack run and there it was. Thin wisps of black curling up from the sea. He could swear he was seeing traces streaking through the sky like tossed spaghetti noodles, but it was probably his eye playing tricks.

Sky God got him a target and he locked on with his Harpoons and fired. Denk peeled away and they sped back as a group to Tarek Byalach. They they were passed by the second wave of twenty aircraft that were moving in to lay some hurt on the enemy frigates when the reports started to come in.

"Stratovarius Three is on fire!"

They were taking losses now. The calls came in rapid fire, his wave was getting chewed up. Denk slammed his fist down on his thigh. He was eager to rearm and get back out there.

IRS Hyndal, Guided-Missile Cruiser, Rudon Sea

"Planes detected sir." a sailor reported, frantically looking back to see if his officer heard him. "Sevevillians, we've no allies nor our own planes in this area. Everyone to your stations!" The ship echoed with noise as everyone assumed their positions, even if they were not strictly required to take down these planes, they would need to be prepared for all occurrences. "We're ready sir." The captain shifted, about to give the order... but then a call. There was some time, he picked it up... silence poured over the room, barely a few seconds past and then he put the phone down again. "...stand down." He said hesitating a bit. "Captain?" the sailor looked at his leader as if he were mad. "I said stand down." He was firm and did not stutter this time. The ship stood down as the Sevevillians past through their sphere of range.

Sevevillian Airforce Bombs Civilian Targets

The depravity of Sevevill’s government apparently knows no bounds. Today Sevevillian stealth bombers managed to pierce the defensive line around Rudony. The planes were soon seen by Rudon marines and defence measures were put in place to repel an air raid at Rudony's only military base. Instead, these planes headed directly to fungal plague containment zones. Before interceptors could be sent out the bombings started and the already overflowing hospitals and checkpoints erupted in fire.

Ninety-seven deaths have been confirmed and over a hundred injuries too. The planes were fired upon as they left, the Rudon navy now knowing their location. However, this is the least of the many problems that have arisen. The plague has yet again been let loose on the islands again.

Allanean and Alto-stratisian workers have yet to count their wounded and dead but they have taken no small amount of loses. Many in Rudony now doubt the ability of the Rudon Imperial forces but the Empress has assured that now that Sevevill has informally declared war on Rudony, the deaths of her people shall not be in vain. Already Rudon armed forces leaders have begun to work with their UCSO allies on how they may be of assistance to the war effort and making this war swift and painful for their Sevevillian foes.

For Dr. Andrew Simpkins, there was no warning of what would happen. There was only a roar, like that made by an airliner's engine, which grew deafening – and then it erupted, in a terrifying, ear-splitting explosion. The hospital floor under Dr. Simpkins buckled and tilted, and he fell, sliding several yards down the now-diagonal floor. He hit something hard, and heard a sickening crack in his body as something gave way. Then he lost consciousness.

When he came to, he was already on a gurney. Everything seemed a confusing haze. As he breathed in, he felt dry dust coating his lips, going into his mouth and throat.

"Doctor Simpkins?" – someone shouted, as if through a blanket. "Doctor Simpkins, can you hear me?"

"I… sort of. Where am I?"

"You're at a Field Hospital. Don't try to move. You've broken your leg, and two ribs. "

"Where are Sidorov, Samsa, Smith?"

"I have no idea who any of trhose people are."

"Dr. Sidorov? Lieutenant Anthony Samsa? Sergeant Catalina Smith?"

There was a pause.

"I'm sorry, Sir, those individuals have not made it."

"What happened ? Terrorism?" – he realized immediately this was not the case.

"No. Cruise missile strike."

"On a hospital? What kind of sense-" – he stopped himself. "It's the Sevevilleans isn't it?"

"Who else would it be?"

Official Statement from the Free Kingdom Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Free Kingdom grieves with the people and Queen of Rudony. We express our condolences to those who have lost loved ones, relatives, and coworkers in this new attack by the Sevevilleans.

This attack illustrates once again the nature and substance of Sevevillean foreign policy and makes clear the comparison between that policy, and that of the Allaneans. When Allaneans came to Rudony, we offered medical and humanitarian assistance, with no strings attached. The military personnel Allaneans sent to Rudony were doctors and nurses.

Instead of all the Allaneans located in Markion, instead of all its enemies, the Empire of Seveville chose to use its advanced weaponry – not against Rudony's military assets, nor against its barracks or harbors. The Sevevilleans chose to attack and murder the people who posed Seveville no threat – doctors and nurders treating the sick, this because their government had – entirely legitimately – shot down an aircraft was invading its airspace.

The difference between the Sevevilleans and their opponents could not be more clear. The Good Will Coalition feeds the hungry and heals the ill – even at great risk and expense. The Sevevilleans sacrifice the lives of their troops, even the well-being of their country, so they could starve civilians, and murder hospital patients with precision weapons. Altosians, Rudonians, and Allaneans put themselves at risk to help their fellow man – the Sevevilleans go to vast sacrifice to harm the innocent.

That is the only fact of importance about either side.

That is all. May the Gods Continue to Bless Allanea.

The other three SG-87 Fighter Bombers sounded off almost in unison. He sat in the rear seat of the two seat fighter bomber. Although him and his pilot, Lt. Thomas Micloughlin were not part of their squadron, nor were they pilots of the navy. They had been training for carrier based operations with the navy as they were both elite pilots part of the Army devision that serviced the nations special forces. Although strategic bombing with the navy was fun they stood out like a sore thumb next to the navys planes with their specially equipped SG-87NM 'starhawk' with its olive drab. Either way they had some bombing to do...

He looked down at his target screen and saw what he was looking for. A large portion of enemy soldiers preparing for one of the final counterstrikes of the imperial marines. The bombs they were carrying could do some colateral damage but at this point it was just to strike fear into the hears of the KP soldiers. Eventually everyone would break... even the strongest minded Imperial Soldier had a breaking point. Then something cought his eye. He saw what looked to be a group of vehicles warming up outside one of the last remaining strongholds where people of high honor had been staying.
Blue Fang Four, I have a target in sight... Infront of the Islands hotel there is a coloum of vehicles.
Rodger when signal is given by marines light them up!

And as he said that what they were hoping to see happend. A Red flare stroked its way through the sky. He locked his missles onto the convoy and let them loose. The planes spread their ordinance of missiles and bombs lovingly across the remainder of positions before dropping out of formation and heading home.

Lt. John Davis. 1st Marines 1st Kings own. September City

The quiet... it was un nerving. The Kp and SIDF soldiers had settled in for the night after the Imperials had drawn back for a few days with the occasional bombs dropped. Him and his marines had slowly maneuvered their way around the remaining parts of the city and hidden in vacated homes and buildings. He quickly lit up a smoke.
You boys ready for some steel rain?!? He yelled to the hudl of marines he had with him.
Fuck yea came back at him from the cluster of marines who started to put their helmets on and put the final bullets into their magazines as he picked up a red flare gun from the corner of the window sill he was looking out of. He shot the flare into the sky and almost before it started to arc the sound of jets going full throttle and explosions could be herd but he never bothered to watch. Instead leading his marines out the door and into the street.
"lets show these hillbilly asshats what happens when you dont bend the fuck over when we give them the warning!" Someone yelled as they sprinted towards the machine gun fire. Large lights scowered the sky trying to keep the planes that were already long gone from their airspace. As they neared the first row of defences they all dropped into a ally and knocked down a back door. Clearing a small apartment building before reaching the last floor. Two snipers manuvered their way to the windows to look down on the clearly frightened SIDF and KP soldiers while another team started to get into position on the ground to distract the gunners. Henry found the roof hatch and brought his two hevy LMG's and some marksmen to the top with him while the other soldiers prepared to fire some shots to distract the gunners.

Alpha to Brovo, We are in position whenever you are ready.
Rodger, came back over the radio. Unfortunately through the fighting they had lost connection with overloard without the big radio equipment but they could still communicate to eachother and other soldiers and leadership on the ground. As he looked over the ledge he saw a soldier lean out from behind the wall and screem
Hey boys! Look at me over here! In the best impression a marine can make of a prostitue. The gunners looked over and immediately opened fire on the buildings. He tapped the shoulder of the LMG gunner who started to rain down fire on the position. The two snipers also started to do their dirty work while the rhythmic heavy fighting could be heard from across the city.

Auman wrote:Air Base Tarek Byalach was a busy place, but the energy in the last several hours turned frenetic.

Adm. Blackburn, Combined Fleet North, Off the West Coast of Oceania:

Admiral Blackburn’s immaculate uniform fluttered around him. Stepping onto the open bridge of any warship was always quite the experience, but from the IPN Princess Emma the view was particularly awe-inspiring.

Two oceans of blue stretched out as far as the eye could see, swelling out and together until they merged at a barely distinct seam. Below him, and it truly was way below him, surged the real ocean. And up from its surface towered warships, though they seemed no larger than toy boats. Such a fleet would have been impressive even on its own.

But that was not all. Even as he gazed out, a massive roar went up which would have thrown a lesser man aside. Up from under the admiral’s feet suddenly raged a jet fighter, an SG-57 which arced up into the second great blue field of the sky. It was followed by another, and another, all joining in that intricate dance up above; some swirling, some grouping together, and some flying off towards the horizon.

Of course, this beauty was not to last. Quite soon, Blackburn came back inside to take command of his forces. They all knew what would soon be coming, and they were ready for it.

The coalition forces were first dampened by Blackburn’s Northern Fleet’s fighter screen. While fewer in number than he would have liked, they still served their purpose of disrupting certain fighter attacks, and tracking many missiles en-route to the task force. In this way, they were able to tell which contacts were real missiles and which were decoys at a greater range than during attacks where they had been taken by surprise.

The battleships took their positions to protect the carriers, finding themselves once again in the somewhat humiliating role of glorified air defense cruisers. They protected the squishy flattops most effectively, making good use of their powerful radar arrays and impressive range of weapons to track hundreds of contacts at a time, identify the real threats, and swat them down. Only superficial damage was dealt to the large combatants over the course of the fighting.

The hapless screening frigates, on the other hand, may have benefitted from a little more protection. With communications disrupted left and right, and center, individual frigate captains over the course of the battle often lacked critical information on priority targets and fire coordination. As a result, most were forced to simply stick to their pre-battle orders and prioritize missiles targeting the large combatants. This led to instances of multiple frigates targeting the same target, or engaging targets other ships knew to be decoys. Partly thanks to this wasted time, by the end of the attack surge nine Sunshine-Class frigates had gone to the bottom of the sea. A further twelve had sustained serious damage and were ordered back to port.

But the combat strength of the Sevevillian formation had not been broken. Even as the attacks were abating, the Empire’s warplanes began striking out to locate coalition ships in the so-called Killbox. The greatest prize would be a task force of freighters carrying war material (Read: life saving food and medicine) to Oceania, though the destruction of the bulk of enemy combatants is also a top priority.

Blackburn’s report that night was optimistic. Provided the Southern Fleet can join them soon, and the coalition has not yet landed a large number of anti-air and anti-ship weapons on UCSO, the Imperial Navy can expect the remainder of this conflict to be smooth sailing.

Rudony wrote:Ninety-seven deaths have been confirmed and over a hundred injuries too. The planes were fired upon as they left, the Rudon navy now knowing their location. However, this is the least of the many problems that have arisen. The plague has yet again been let loose on the islands again.

Crowblade, Northern Rudon Islands, Rudony:

Despite Rudony travel bans having been enacted in many countries across Markion, a notable number of civilian flights still came and went from airports in healthy parts of the nation. Crisis does not mean ordinary life stands still, and it was in this inevitable flow of humanity that Sevevill’s ATLAS would make their move.

Agent Crowblade, or rather, Mr. Brent Robinson, looked for all the world like the October Islands guest worker he claimed to be. The border officers, though clearly on edge, did not single him out any more than they did the other foreigners, and soon he was through.

Mr. Robinson hopped in a cab, and promptly drove to a more well-to-do part of the city. By the time they arrived at what was most certainly not the house of a guest worker, Brent Robinson had been replaced by Dr. Jay Steeles, freelance associate to many of the aid organizations currently working in Rudony. For the next few days he would communicate with those he was slated to work with, all while his “staff” trickled in from across Markion. At that point, they would be well positioned to acquire samples of this ravenous fungus for “testing”. Ideally, they would be able to do this simply by petitioning the Rudon government. But failing that, there were more messy ways of achieving their goals.

(Post by Green Union)

[Codename] Crowblade, Off the Southwestern Coast of Rudony:

The stars were brilliant tonight.

That in itself was a given. With no other source of light out, the entire hemisphere above and below them sparkled with the otherworldly jewels or their shimmering reflections. In fact, so surrounding were the stars that Agent Crowblade could almost convince himself that they were not on earth at all, but standing atop a spaceship as it travelled through the inky blackness of the heavens.

But of course, this reverie could not last. There was work to be done. Turning to the small part of their nuclear submarine which had peeked above the water, Crowblade returned to the crew and agents busy assembling equipment for the next stage of their mission. By the light of the stars alone, the long steel tubes were being brought up from inside their submarine and snapped together. They had some technical name, no doubt, but everyone was simply referring to the things as manned torpedoes. Each torpedo would be as long as a family van and wide around as one of its tires, and would carry two or three agents to the Rudon mainland.

It took only a couple hours for the sub’s crew to assemble their transports. In that time, Crowblade had little opportunity to appreciate the view as he and the other eight agents were pressed into their suffocating dive suits and run through one exhaustive safety check after another. It would not do for one of them to suddenly suffer a breathing failure at twenty metres below the surface.

But at length they were ready. The Atlas agents boarded their craft and pushed off without so much as a call of farewell or good luck. They would travel on the surface in silence, then dip into the inky darkness on their final approach. After ditching their torpedoes and changing into less conspicuous attire (which would consist of military hazmat suits), they would be on their own to reach the local safehouse (or really any safe place) and plan how to accomplish their mission from there.

The Green Union wrote:The battle of September City has begun as the remnants of the September Island Defence Force and their Kamooko Pact allies rally in the capital for a desperate stand.

With grossly inadequate local infrastructure and rampant sabotage leading to a bottleneck of main invasion forces, foot mobile infantry has carried out most of the heavy fighting to take September Island. Hungry, tired, and almost completely without resupply, the light infantry of the First Kings Own nonetheless saw great success in the first forty-eight hours of the invasion.

Soon, though, even as the Sevevillians knocked on the gates of September City had slowed to a snail’s pace. With the demoralized SIDF surrendering en-masse to the advance forces, Sevevillian light infantry suddenly found themselves in charge of hundreds or thousands of prisoners. With roads barely able to support even light vehicles and the air heavily contested (not to mention few helicopters to go around), the normal avenues for moving captured enemies to the rear were all but closed. It was not uncommon for a single squad to report that they could no longer move, because they had an entire company of POWs to process. Most units, overwhelmed by many times their number of captives, simply locked the enemy soldiers in a barn and resolved to shoot anyone who tried to flee.

Given the volatile nature of these arrangements, and the resulting lack of progress, a series of somewhat unorthodox orders came down from the First Kings Own’s headquarters. Local Sevevillian officers, they instructed, were to make every effort to recruit SIDF prisoners to the invasion’s cause, framing Sevevill’s intervention as an effort to free September Island from Kamooko Pact occupation. The people of September Island should be encouraged to help in liberating themselves.

Many low level officers and non-commissioned members, it would seem, interpreted these instructions loosely. Because orders did not specify what to do with those SIDF personnel who refused to assist Sevevill, some unsubstantiated reports have appeared of SIDF members being forced on penalty of death. Nevertheless, within only a few hours of this order going out, the Sevevillian advance has once again started to rapidly make serious headway into the small island nation.

The defence of September Island received a new wind as Sevevill’s beleaguered advance faces yet another complication. Several hundred September Island Defence Force troops, captured by the Sevevillians, today found themselves free again. Many were given back their weapons and told to fight for the invaders. Others, refusing to help Sevevill, were forcibly marked on their bodies (often with a bayonet or hot metal) and simply released with the knowledge that bearing arms again would see them executed on the spot.

Unsurprisingly, after witnessing such brutality, many terrified turncoats soon found opportunities to defect from their new Sevevillian bosses. Large numbers simply disappeared, likely going home and taking their weapons with them. Others have begun trickling back into the SIDF lines or started new pockets of resistance behind the Sevevillian front.

It is possible that the advance of the main Sevevillian body will now take even longer.

The Federation of Arcadian States and Commonwealths has decided that the time of silence is over. After much deliberation in the upper and lower houses, the Chancellor has decided to take action on recent events. FASC has requested of nations within the Pro-UCSO Coalition be allowed to work with them, saying that any further aggression from Sevevill in the Drejveskan region, September Island and Ionis will be seen as an act of war mongery and therefore a threat to the stability of the region and the lives of hundreds of millions of people.

The Armed Forces of the Federation have already begun to mobilise with carrier groups being prepared. States nearby Sevevill have also been put to high alert and civilian protection made paramount as the South West Bloc has proven in Drejveska that they are not above using gas to attack civilian populations. FASC has also denounced South West Bloc states and ceased trade and political functions until further notice. The Chancellor added that it is not only disrespectful what the Trekkish and Sjovenian governments did, but also outright opportunistic and selfish. Arcadian ambassadors have been sent to speak with KP representatives about cooperating against the Sevevillian threat.

In other news, the Chancellor has also expressed his disappointment at Guanja's decision to execute Arcadian citizens with the Arcadian public furious. The Chancellor has stated that many claims in the trial were false or weak at best and not befitting of the sentence of execution and that these trials were shoddy and illegitimate with a biased judge and weak defence provided.

Guanja, Arvaako, Capital of Guanja
Operation Killjoy

It was night. Pitch black. The glider floated through the air. J-SOT operators were stuffed inside, light on equipment but ready to do their job. They landed on the outskirts of the city, tomorrow would be the first of the executions, they mustn't fail. Advancing under the cloak of shadows they made their way through the city, going unseen and unheard by the common populace who were about their business of late-night drinking, eating at restaurants and shopping. Now though, they had to break into the highest security prison in all of Guanja to save innocents.

Cameras were shot, men disguised went into the station and took down officers non-lethally. They moved with haste and precision through back doors and made their way through the station. It wasn't long until alarms were set off and bodies were found. However, by the time the city police were brought up to full alert, J-SOT was already on their way out with the Naval Demolitions Unit leading the escape, having paid people off, readied escape vehicles and made suitable arrangements.

With all the prisoners, they boarded NDU supplied vessels to cross the ocean back to meeting point, where they would scuttle the boats and be taken by air to Arcadian authorities. The seeds of division were sown, but now the Arcadians needed to help them grow. As special forces left, one was left behind, the Parliamentary Special Forces. They covered J-SOT's tracks but they would not be leaving. They had shown the persecuted federalists of Guanja that they need not hide in shadow, they would be free one day, by Arcadian hands.
