Biography: Throughout his entire life, Bruchmuller knew only two things: war and atonement. Ever since he could walk and talk, he was given a uniform of an artillery man before being shipped off to fight in the frontline as part of the Imperial tithe. Like the millions of other children of Krieg, Bruchmuller saw death, carnage, and glory in the God-Emperor on death worlds, tomb worlds, and hive worlds that have been invaded by the countless enemies of the Imperium. Burchmuller was promoted through sheer survival. The decades spent as an artillery crew, later officer, gave him the experience needed to command this siege division.

Regimental biography: One of the many regiments spawned from Krieg as payment to the Imperial throne, the 86th Siege was sent all across the galaxy in numerous campaigns. Either be against Tyranids, Orks, Tau, or Chaos.

The Passchendaele Wars in year 192.M41 was a series of conflicts set in the Passchendaele system where Orks were launching a series of assaults onto the numerous Imperial worlds. The 86th Siege was sent in Ypres to fortify the planet in anticipation for a 5th Ork invasion. There, the regiment received its baptism by fire in brutal attrition warfare.

The Amiens Campaign in year 201.M41 was a short war in the Amiens system where the 86th Siege was tasked to liberate the Imperial world of Somme from Chaos cultists. Upon landing, the 86th Siege immediately dug trenches around the hive cities upon landing. The 5 decades of siege warfare made the regiment’s commanders to start putting more emphasis on siege artillery in order to allow for complete decimation of the forces of chaos.
The Verdun Offensive and the Great Marne war in year 380.M41 - 420.M41 is where the 86th Siege regiment suffers its highest casualty rate yet their accomplishments earned the regiment the nickname “Breakthrough”.

Biography: Like many who join the Rovers back on Morrdh, Artemis Stormwell had very little choice and managed to enlist before his former mates in a street gang he was with, for much of his childhood and early teens, caught up with him. His rebellious streak often got him into trouble during his basic training, but gradually overtime this trait was subdued. Over the decade that followed Artemis worked his way up through the ranks, first to Corporal and then Sergeant by the time the once a generation Imperial Tithe came around. It was his commanding officer in the Morrdh PDF who recommended him for an officer's commission, something that the Departmento Munitorum took under consideration and then approved for Artemis to be commissioned as a Lieutenant in what was then the 319th Battalion.

Morrdh

Morrdh is a frontier world bordering the Ghoul Stars and was discovered by the legendary Rogue Trader Sia'hadn Ecale when he begun his exploration of the Ghoul Stars in 390.M38. A lost world of man, it was covered in extensive ruins and great Cyclopean cities long buried beneath millennia of dark forest and dank swamplands and upon windswept moors. The native population were examined and found wholesome despite their long separation from the light of the Emperor, but for reasons unknown colonists were brought from the Greater Imperium to resettle Morrdh. Natives who were slow to abandon their old beliefs and practices were pushed to the fringes, and even today those with Native blood are viewed with some suspicion.

The tantalising prospect of Archeotech brought representatives of the Adeptus Mechanicus to Morrdh, while the prospect of conversion brought representatives of the Ecclesiarchy. Colonists sought to rule themselves alone, while Ecale wished to exploit the mysterious bounties of the world for himself and his burgeoning dynasty. Fractious squabbling between these factions brought down the wrath of the Inquisition, who brokered a settlement – Morrdh and its people would be led by a council representing each faction, a council headed by a leader chosen from the ranks of the new settlers.

Queen Lothwyn XIV is the current monarch of Morrdh and planetary governor, ruling from the capital city of Morrdun. Beneath her, a Magos Explorator, an Ecclesiarchical official and a member of the Rogue Trader House of Ecale sit as advisers. Each has their own agenda, and each not-so secretly longs to rule alone. Were it not for the obsidian tower of the Inquisitorial manse casting long shadows over the capital it is very likely that one would have made their move by now. For now, they are content to plot and intrigue and to quietly indulge in smuggling ancient artefacts off-world.

Recently, Queen Lothwyn has pushed for her world to become a Garrison world. Her reasons for doing so are unclear, as it would entail far higher tithes and far more Imperial oversight. Some suspect that she hopes to force a confrontation between the other factions, a confrontation she clearly believes will end successfully for her. Others believe that she knows of some dark threat looming on the horizon. Those allied to Rogue Traders fear that it is the first step towards Imperial annexation of what they see as their rightful domain.

Despite the intrigue ridden politics, Morrdh is also noted for the mining and export of useful but unremarkable ores.

Mining

Morrdh has rich veins of useful, but largely unremarkable ores obtained through the backbreaking labour of Morrdh's lower classes. A number of mining clans exist to extract the ores, though their workers are effectively indentured servants due to the appallingly low pay enforced by harsh contracts the clans offer. The clans provide the main source of readily available income and so many have little choice but to sign on with one of the clans, there are smaller outfits but these tend to be short-lived due to the efforts of the clans.


Morridane Rovers

Man is far from being the first inhabitants of Morrdh, ancient records state that not long after the planet was first colonized that contact was reported with a feral race of creatures simply called Wulvers'. These creatures were reported as being a race of wolf-like beasts. Over the centuries there have been many reports of Wulver raids, typically taking place at night, against many of Morrdh's outlaying settlements. A specialist military known as the Rovers was eventually formed to deal with the Wulvers, a unit that has been maintained and gained specialisation as sharpshooters and scouts.

Today the Rovers forms the core of the Morrdh PDF, its recruits are those those that cannot live on the miserable payment of the whaling clans or who earn the wrath of one of the criminal gangs. The men and women of the Rovers have the thankless task of delving deep into the swamps, boggy marshes and desolate moorland that make up the surface of Morrdh. Rovers must learn a certain degree of self-sufficiency, as the terrain and other hazards can easily prevent the delivery of much-needed supplies. Those tithed to the Imperial Guard often ply these skills on the battlefield, making the best of available resources and finding creative uses for common equipment.

Special Equipment: Clan Sword:- Every true Morridane family, no matter how high or how lowly, possesses a clan sword that is passed down through the generations. No true son or daughter of Morrdh would part with this clan sword; given the choice between selling this hereditary blade or starving to death, any would gladly starve. Most of these swords are centuries, if not millennia old, and crafted according to the highest standards. Clan swords are usually swords of good craftsmanship, and are often engraved with a family crest or motto. Traditionally, the sword is bestowed on the eldest son or daughter of a family. Should the sword's bearer fall on the field of battle, it is the responsibility of his squad mates to retrieve the blade and return it to his family.

Cyber-Mastiffs:- Many of the Xenos in the Ghoul Stars are known to be able to change shapes and can even assume a form of a Human, these shapeshifters are thus able to sow discord whilst wearing a false face. There have been a number of incidents involving Xenos shapeshifters over the centuries that means of detecting them were sought, thus the Morrdh 'Sniffer' Cyber-Mastiff was born. Sniffers are optimized for scent-based roles like the Subrique "Bloodhound", though the Morrdh Cyber-Mastiffs are geared more towards identification rather than tracking. The cogitators of the Sniffers contain a memory bank of sensorium data which allow the beasts to analyse airborne particles to identify whether or not a person is actually Human rather than a Xenos.

Platoon Sergeants in each of the platoon command squads are designated as handlers and paired up with a Cyber-Mastiff, if anything to keep an out on their own platoons for Xenos shapeshifters in addition to combat support. Regiment HQ contains a section of handlers that is ten men strong under the direct command of a 'Hound Master' (typically a warrant officer) who answers to both the battalion's commanding officer and its commissar. The handlers of the Cyber-Mastiff Section function as regimental provosts and are normally responsible for the maintenance of good order and military discipline, though serious breeches of discipline and criminal offences are handled by the Commissariat.

Morridane Pipes:- A small clutch of spidery reeds attached to a bellows bag which is squeezed rhythmically under the arm, originally used to help guide wayward wanderers the weather of Morrdh's sometimes harsh climate closed in. Secondary use was discovered in that the noise made by the pipes is actually painful to Xenos shapeshifters that sometimes plagues Morrdh. It is not uncommon for pipers to play when there are assemblies of large groups of people.


Regimental History

The regiment was originally formed as the 319th Battalion, Morridane Rovers and served as a Light Infantry unit with the scout speciality. The 319th served dutifully for over a decade until the [REDACTED] where it suffered over 60% casualties. The Departmento Munitorum, in its infinite wisdom, opted to reinforce the 319th with another understrength Morridane unit that was in the sector. The problem was that this other unit was equipped with Pegasus AFVs and due to a clerical oversight the 319th was reclassified as an Armoured Reconnaissance unit. The reclassification necessitated a complete re-organisation and crash re-training course of the 319th to enable it to fulfil its new role.

Biography: Cupphon Cane was born on Cadia to Marcus and Eveliene Cane, a middle-class family. He is the eldest brother of a group of 4. He led a reasonably boring life, taught to be loyal to the Emporer, but cool-headed and even-tempered. Whenhe was of age, he enlisted in the Imperial Guard, and put into the recently formed 34th Cadian Anti-tank Regiment.

If we can trim the numbers a bit. Light Infantry numbers are fine. Tankers if we could bring down to about 2-3k since its about 3-5 tankers per tank destroyer and having thousands of tanks is a bit much. 20k support likewise could be cut to about half if that includes all manner of support personnel.

Lascannons are 2 man crew weapons. Really if you want to go extreme with the size lets keep the Lascannons to 500-1000 amount.

This would be a bit more balanced.

Personality: Intelligent, verging on arrogance and haughtiness, has trouble forming bonds with anyone outside the Adeptus Mechanicus, seeing baseline humanity as generally inferior with only a handful of exceptions.

Personal Weapons: Various. She has a total of 12 Mechadendrites as well as her mechanical arms. With these mechadendrites she wields an arsenal of weapons when needed, and she has amassed quite the wide-ranged arsenal, though she rarely has need to engage in combat personally. When she does she often does so using the battle-frame of a modified Thallax, able to bring the devastating heavy weapons often carried by the Thallax to bare on her enemies.

Biography: Born to mid-tier Tech Priests before they had their full reproductive organs replaced, Malika was born into a fairly privileged life. She was given an education that even the most powerful nobles in the Imperium would be envious of, taught by the tech-priests of Metaxes into the inner workings of technology and the Cult Mechanicus, with full expectations that she would join the Machine Cult. At the age of sixteen she did, undergoing her first surgery and began replacing the weakness of her flesh. With that she entered into the service of Metaxes, apprenticing under Magos Rivalor, who managed one of the mighty foundry complexes on Metaxes, as well as often leading missions of all sorts off world, exploratory, combat, and diplomatic. Malika often accompanied Rivalor on these missions, gaining insight and experience that was often seen as above someone of her age, but lauded all the same. After decades of being an apprentice, Malika was brought into the fold of the Ordo Reductor, which held a place of higher respect on Metaxes then on most Mechanicus worlds, and was given command of a Battle Maniple in the first War Cohort of Metaxes.

Sent off-world and out of sector, the War Cohort traveled to various battlefields, both on their own missions and in support of the Imperiums forces. Within a century she was a Magos Reductor, leading the entire War Cohort. It was around this time that the War Cohort was summoned back to Metaxes, where upon arriving Malika found that her former master Rivalor had become the Fabricator General of Metaxes. The reason for the summons was that Rivalor wanted Malika to serve as his Fabricator Locum, and had the political clout to make it happen. Seeing little reason to refuse, Malika accepted.

For the past century she has served as Fabricator Locum of Metaxes, overseeing not just production but also the vast defenses and forces of the Forge World. She is the right-hand and enforcer of Metaxes, using its military might, and the mere threat of it, with brutal efficiency to settle disputes. Once the sector was thrown into upheaval, she has strengthened the defenses of Metaxes, as well as securing the more vital areas in the Metaxes system as a whole. The current heretical infestation of Metaxes has been met with that same brutal efficiency, though the vastness of the world, its populations, and the nature of the enemy makes victory slow going.

Biography: Alizabeth hails from the frozen and desolate Ice World of Valhalla, home to the iconic Valhallan Ice Warriors.

From an early age she longed to escape the woefully overcrowded and dark subterranean caverns that housed Valhalla's population and protected them from the harsh conditions found on the planet's surface. Her father worked at Valhalla's main spaceport and would often take Alizabeth there when she grew older, something that she cherished as it offered a beacon of light. When she turned 16 she applied to join and was accepted by Valhalla's fledging air corps. Initially she served as a crewman on shuttles that braved the planet's arctic conditions and linked remote settlements with the main ice-hives, though later she received flight training.

The turning point was when an Imperial Navy cruiser arrived in orbit on routine patrol, a chance encounter with some of the ship's crew convinced the young woman that the Navy could offer her more than she could've ever wanted. Alizabeth managed to sought passage to the naval base at Kar Duniash where she enrolled in the naval academy there, being fast tracked into officer training for the Aeronautica Imperialis. Her prior experience as a shuttle pilot saw her first posting to a Valkyrie squadron operating as part of an Imperial Navy Tactical Wing, though she would later transfer to a Bomber Wing to fly the venerable Marauder Bomber.

Alizabeth steadily worked her way up the ranks to hold a number of command positions before finally being promoted to the rank of Air Marshal and given command of Aeronautica Korinthian.

Being the son of settlers, he and his family had been serving on a transport vessel for multiple generations, one that was lacking in advanced shielding in certain areas, resulting in his family's distinctive skin tone. Growing up as a farm boy, he spent many years in Harakon's lower, more temperature climates. Upon the accomplishment of his schooling he enlisted in the PDF were he served with distinction as a squad leader before being hand picked by the Planet's Governor to enroll in to Harakoni Jump school and thus, in to the vaunted Harakoni drop corps. Biography:

Fallen from Grace...

Born to the nobility of Harakon, her family was among the first to push and later settle the city of Akkadia 2 centuries prior. Coming from a privileged upbringing, she enjoyed the finer aspects of Imperial Nobility, enjoying special tutors and classes. How ever, upon her 16th birthday she was notified that she was to be married to a less then appealing noble son from another world. Outraged, she refused to do so and was given an ultimatum by her father: Marry the boy or leave his house. Choosing the latter, she left and vary quickly realized she had no real idea as to how to actually survive on her own. Deciding to put her fate in to the hands of the Emperor, she joined the Guard. During her training in Harakoni Jump school she shown excellent work and efficiency in conducting her self as a soldier. Eventually after her first engagement, she met and later fell in to a relationship with Colonel Apone, though it has since been kept under wraps as opposed to the more open faction the rest of the 109th is in rearguards to inter unit relations.

The Difference between these to is that Lt Essmie show a burning, un-ending hatred for traitors and the servants of the ruinous powers that one would find more likely in the guided halls of a Sororitas temple rather then then among the common men and women of the guard. This often translates in to an indomitable will and ruthless persecution of the enemies of the Emperor that often ignores her own safety.

Biography:

It runs in the Blood...

Her father was a native Cadian man, a former Kasrkin shock trooper who found work under an Inquisitorial lord as a part of his personal fire team. Eventually becoming an Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus, he would enlist the aid of a unit of Sororitas. This unit would contain her mother who would serve as a Hospitalar. Eventually serving as his personal medicae and later his assistant, the two would become close as any man and women of the faith who served together and Johanna's older sister Primrose would be the first product of this, being enough of a reason to cause the two to settle on the relatively peaceful world of Harakon. A few years later, Johanna was born.

Being the younger sister, she would look up to her saintly older sister much through her life, to the point that during their pre-teens when both were screened by the schola proginium, she would score a near identical level of her sister despite being a few years behind her in age. A large schism would be opened when they both would apply to the Sororitas, were Primrose would be accepted, but Johanna would be declined entry, a "Lack of vocal faith" being the reason. This would send her in to a depressed mood for much her early years. In her late teens she would turn that depression in to anger and act on it, getting involved with the seeder elements of Akkadia's underground elements. With a mother suffering a long term condition from a injury she sustained from her years in the Ordo Hereticus and a near always absent father, this behavior would culminate in to a bar fight between her and several members of the 109th. Despite being out matched by her opponents, she put three of them in to the clinic before being subdued by the local Arbities.

The then recently promoted Colonel Apone saw a opportunity in the girl and gave her an option: Sit in an Arbities cell for assault upon an officer of the Astra Militarum, or joining the 109th and work her charge off. She chose the latter. Recognized early on for alarmingly high marksmanship with complimentary skills in reconnaissance, field craft, and tracking. Being commissioned as an officer shortly out of jump school, she would serve for the next ten years as a designated marksmen, and in the case of the last campaign, the 109th's Designated assassin.

Regimental biography: Founded 234 years prior, the 109th were Founded out of the then newly settled Hive of Akkadia. They would see little action outside of their home system for close to 100 year, giving them a reputation as low end troops (which is still rather high compared to standard units). Roughly 170 years in to their existence, the unit would come in to it's own glory when faced with a home grown rebellion among the citizens of Hive Akkadia. Being the only unit with in short distance, the 109th were assigned along side the forces of Inquisitorial Lord Johan Von Essmie, Hero of the Imperium. They stormed the small city and took it in a matter of days, putting down the secessionist rebellion in a mere 3 weeks. The Acts of reprisal and punishment are still spoken about to this day.

Biography: D'Arras was born the second son of Arras' planetary governor. It was not expected that he would ever succeed his father as governor, and thus he decided to spend his life serving the Imperium. As a Fortress World, Arras and its soldiers were constantly fighting for the Imperium and the young Reginald's family background made no difference: he was expected to fight with the rest of the Imperial Guard. And fight he did. For the next 57 years, Reginald fought his way in dozens of campaigns, wars, and crusades in the Emperor's name. Through his years of service, Reginald became Marshal of the Arras Imperial Guard.

As typical of other Fortress Worlds, Arras and its Imperial Guard are bred for war, and its soldiers are instilled with loyalty and zeal for the Emperor. The III Arrageois Regiment, "The Marshal's Sword", is its most famous regiment and is usually the primary regiment of Marshal Reginald Congar d'Arras himself. Marshal d'Arras served in the III his entire career before becoming Marshal, and its nickname reflects his relationship with the regiment. Saran was born and bred of Korinth, spending his lifetime upon the hive world and repeating the never ending cycle of duty, day in and day out. His family beginnings of no true renown, upper middle standing among the hierarchy that dominated the planet.

Like all yearning noble families high and low, he mimicked the pattern and joined the PDF regiments for a time. Laying claim to whatever scraps the higher aristocracy left for those below them. It wasnt the worst plot in life to have by many measures, but it was certainly enough to have a clear subjective view of what it was like for those that did wield greater influence and prestige. A morsel taste of any semblance of power that made his conscious mind simply drool with envy.

Years and years would go by, a constant power game of a peasant throwing stones at giants. Saran craved for an upper hand and utilized his charismatic approaches to establish profound relations with any and all individuals who held onto any curtails of command. Fencing antiques and valuables for the rich, and turning a blind eye to those that would both acquire and transport these goods on his behalf. Business proved to be much more lucrative than the adminstatum post he held, as it only served as a front to how he truly boosted his standing among his peers and broke the thresholds of societal classisms.

Some 50 years prior, he was delivered a valuable trinket in the form of an amulet, a jewel encased in gold. A sapphire lined with pristine curled edges that seemed to tickle his desire in a manner that had never occured before. He had to have it!

This jewel proved to be the catalyst of Saran's submission to the ruinous powers, as it spoke to him and depicted his wildest desires and limitless ambitions and dreams of grandeur. A Symbol given physical traits directly from his consciousness.

Urging him to seek out that which is suppose to remain hidden or handed over to the inquisition, his studies and work toiled at a grander scheme that required sacrifices and denunciations of those that ruled... All of them. He whispered into many ears and spoke many secrets from what he learned and schemed. Painting vivid pictures of what life could be, and greatly illustrated the reasons and who the people were standing in the way of this generous and bountiful life. The "why's and who's" that insisted none ask questions along with the reasons they were afraid of the changed status quo.

His dialogues echoed and rippled through the upper and lower hives, slowly but surely for many years, subtly so that his face could slowly assimilate and rest comfortably as his movement's symbol whilst being taylored and beautified to maintain its poise of "following the rules and tenants" established by the imperium.

The bridge of his efforts now reaching its peak, as those that tired from taking orders from the sycophantic aristocrats that sat idly by, indulging themselves, joined the down trodden who were effortlessly stamped down upon whenever they merely wished to breath.

Both the PDF and lower hives, infiltrated and instigated, turned against and rebelled from their governing overseers... In pursuit of true self denominations.

A life time serving dedicated officer and graduate of the militarum academy of Korinth, Disenko was awarded with countless titles from his family and achievements in both training and duty. An expert marksmen, physically astute soldier, and outstanding strategist in mock battles staged on the planet of Korinthia.

Disenko, like many others who proved their value, joined kill Squads and participated in civilian repression and crack operations directed by the upper aristocracy and governor. A monumental difference to his skill was his influence and support among the military families that resided on Korinthia. Taking advantage of their bias, often times Disenko would manipulate circumstances that saw to his favor in regards of promotion and prestige... Usually by sabotaging his opponents in one form or another.

His streak is largely unknown and most are unaware of his cunniving temperament unless directly involved with his endeavors. By then, the clear cunning of his person's presents a threat none wish to compete against, simply moving out of his way and doing his bidding.

Disenko's motivation is to eventually usurp total power from the Vizier Saran, and succumb to the whispers of his own conscience. Promising reward in greatness in the wars to come. Disenko is a pragmatist first and survivalist second, seeing that the high Lords and aristocrats contribute nothing and pursue their own desires, Disenko has disregarded the belief of the emperors power of omnipotence and sought to become a servant to none but himself.





The Korinthia Interior Guard (KIG) &
"The Dereliquisse" Militias.

The Korinthian PDF was established as hastily as possible after the exodus from the Argus Systems evacuation. Owing much tribute to the previous remnants of the Argus PDF, both Korinthia and Argus planetary defence forces were merged into a single body where both old and new officers congregated, not so amicably.

As the years continued, the autocratic form of governance attributed to the lengthy and profound use of kill squads that policed the hive worlds populace flourished with consistent and repeated support of the governors that followed one another. Though after centuries, the chism that at first divided both Argus and Korinth PDF organizations had all but dissolved. As specific hives and precincts within hives were dominated by age old tell tale of which were superior and inferior to one another, heralding all the way back to long forgotten rivalries that stemmed from the differences between both factions. The kill squads perhaps being the single conjoining objective that bound both to on another.

Bound and held together from their commanders, who often switched and alternated in their origins, despite the knowledge of which hive, zone, or precinct they came from, it was impossible to trace exactly which faction the zones earned their angst from. Entirely unimportant at this juncture really, the rivalries between hives and zones played well into the established hierarchy of societal order, allowing the governor and his aministratum to play at their wits and indulge themselves further. That is until Colonel Disenko, commander of both PDF and Kill Squads, plunged the planet into rebellion working along with "The Dereliquisse". A sub grouping comprising of mostly hive citizens that banded together under their own chiefs and leaders (largely cultists) and supported Saran's agenda.

Due to their Hive city origins and totalitarian tendencies, the KIG forces make extensive use of Heavily armed Chimera as a staying show of power and quick moving sentinel squadrons to disperse and crack down on civilian gatherings in previous times. While at face value, the rank and file of the KIG appear to be rigid and the absolute hammer of the PDF, most if not everytime, the objective victory is stolen away by the extensive kill Squads maintained by the Governors Colonel Director of interior.

Seeing that the coup was quick, almost bloodless, and also supported by the interior guard and civilians, the majority of military assets went unscathed.

Access to some equipments such as pieces of flak armor, mix of Las and autoguns, extensive use of grenade launchers, and trace amounts of heavy weapons such as stubbers missile launchers. More common to be in possession of special weapons such as plasma gun or flamers.

Hello, everyone! Here is the app for the requested armored regiment. Sorry again for the wait, got a bit too busy with school but that's out of the way now. As this is a Minervan Tank Legion, I used the organizational structure described in the wikis, then repeated at higher organizational levels. Equipment is based mostly off wiki descriptions of armored regiments, as well as the high-quality equipment typically associated with elite ones like the Minervans upon which other armored regiments model themselves. As I saw we do have a max-strength siege regiment [Union Prince's] and [presumably] several smaller [mostly] dismounted units, I created this regiment to serve as the armored support for those glorious Krieg madlads [and everyone else!]. As usual, I welcome any comments, questions, and concerns!

NS Name: Sil Arion.

Name of Character: Atheneia Nikos.

Age: 70.

Sex: Female.

Planet of Origin: Minerva, Minerva System, Armageddon Subsector, Armageddon Sector, Segmentum Solar.

Personal Weapons: power sword, bolt pistol, refractor field emitter, augury scanner, cyber familiar, nuncio vox, commissar’s greatcoat, peaked cap; standard kit.

Personality: Phlegmatic. Quiet and contemplative, Atheneia is a woman of few words. When she does speak, it is with great and solemn purpose, to give commands that she considered in exacting detail. She does not command loyalty through rhetoric or heroics, but through quiet competence, and her men have learnt to trust in her skill and rely on the chain of command. Atheneia is a soldier of unshakeable faith with an air of authority about her, if one who still has the heart of a choleric young Commissar parts sanguine and maverick who cared dearly for her soldiers like a father and a brother.

Then and now, Atheneia is decisive and prefers to lead from the front, taking charge of situations personally and never afraid to do what she orders her men to do. However, Atheneia can be quick to anger and drawn into foolish actions, reflecting her optimism and confidence for she is ever ready for action and familiar with the rigors of battle—though sometimes too caught up in dreams of glory and triumph.

While inspirational to her men with grandiose speeches and heroism, Atheneia’s ambition has often seen them faced with impossible odds, caught up in their commander’s quest for glory, and they must battle hard to survive. Some peers regard her as unpredictable and undisciplined due to this, but her attitude and daring make Atheneia beloved by her tankers, who see her as one of them rather than “one of the officers.”

Bio: Atheneia was born on 364.M41 on the Civilised World of Minerva. While she has no memory of her early childhood, Atheneia later learned she was the last surviving child of the Astra Militarum hero Pyrrha Nikos, who once commanded the 1st Minervan Tank Legion and died in battle against Chaos under unknown circumstances. Atheneia therefore was raised under the care of drill abbots of the Schola Progenium, indoctrinated in the Imperial Creed from youth and serving no culture but that of loyalty and the swift execution of her duties on an ocean world shrouded in endless storms.

There, the Drill Abbots drove Atheneia to become amongst the truest servants of the Imperium through mindscaping, schooling, and training to an almost inhuman degree. When the time came for her Trials of Compliance, she passed on the first attempt with the highest score in her class—and a score equal to her mother’s over a century prior. Selection Day then came and when Atheneia showed a militant inclination through her strong mind, unwavering loyalty and discipline, she was assigned to the Schola Prefectus to train as a Commissar at age fifteen.

As a Cadet Commissar, Atheneia served under Commissar-General Pelagon of the Valerian Heavy Cavalry regiments for three years, gaining the full rank of Commissar on Pelagon’s deathbed after the Commissar-General was assassinated by agents of Chaos. Atheneia then served as a political officer with the 7th Valerian Heavy Cavalry, from the regiment’s foundation to its victory on Normandium ending the Germanicus Crusade. During those three decades of fast-paced frontline fighting alongside the 37th Valerian, Atheneia steadily lost her indoctrinated dispassion and became more maverick in leadership style—an empathetic and inspirational officer who led by example, not by doctrine.

Following that campaign, Atheneia served as the ranking Officio Prefectus agent for the 7th Valerian, playing a crucial part in the battle for the world of Normandium. There, she led her tankers alongside the Warmaster Nikephorus at the spearhead of the Imperial landing by air and sea. In the battle, 7th Valerian took on and destroyed the Forces of Chaos’ airfields and spaceports. They stormed the Halodreth’s Threshold—the first Imperial unit to do so—and destroyed the Spire of Pride where Atheneia slew the Chaos warlord Ismenius and his daemon-engine mount through deceptive stratagems and judicious firepower, ultimately winning the battle and earning the Valerian’s a place in the annals of Imperial glory.

This great victory finally opened a corridor into the beleaguered sector for the Crusade to advance against the Archenemy. But the triumph came at the cost of Nikephorus’ life, mortally wounded during the battle. As she lay dying, Nikephorus promoted Atheneia to the rare rank of Colonel-Commissar and gave Atheneia command of two regiments: the 101st and 400th Minervan Tank Legions, both of which were among the third of Minervan regiments which were fully amphibious.

These two regiments had fought at the worst front at Normandium. Their victory was costly too, and neither were now anywhere near full strength. Atheneia thus reorganized them into the 501st Minervan Tank Legion in 422.M41, promoting soldiers who showed initiative, intelligence, and good leadership during the campaign—she knew many of them from previous battles.

During the next two decades years, she led the old-made-new regiment through two major campaigns ranging through Segmentum Solar which focused on urban warfare—in which the regiment soon became somewhat specialized in tactics, techniques, procedures, and equipment. Over her service, Atheneia has earned many awards and honors—including access to rejuvenat treatments to extend her lifespan and maintain her capabilities, as well as a noble title and holdings in perpetuity on her homeworld of Minerva. Under her leadership, the 501st Minervan Tank Legion, its individual subunits and soldiers earned the Triple Skull, the Ribbon Intrinsic, and scores of other awards and honors thousands of times—and their epithet, “Victory’s Fist,” for their glorious victories against opposing forces which outnumbered and outgunned them terribly time and time again. When occasions to display these come, they do so with great pride and dignity in memory of their honored dead. Of interesting note is that the 101st and 400th Minervan Tank Legions remain the official designations in Administratum records. As such, the 501st usually receives double the standard supplies by the Departmento Munitorum.

And now, Atheneia leads the 501st on the Crusade to liberate the Korinthian Sector.

Regimental Bio: The 501st Minervan Tank Legion was founded in 422.M41 by combining the survivors of 101st and 400th Minervan Tank Legions. Each predecessor had millennia of history as the elite tank regiments of the Astra Militarum, including hundreds of campaigns, thousands of battles, and tens of thousands of individual awards and honors. As I saw we do have a max-strength siege regiment [Union Prince's] and [presumably] several smaller [mostly] dismounted units, I created this regiment to serve as the armored support for those glorious Krieg madlads [and everyone else!]. Personality: Phlegmatic. Quiet and contemplative, Atheneia is a woman of few words. When she does speak, it is with great and solemn purpose, to give commands that she considered in exacting detail. She does not command loyalty through rhetoric or heroics, but through quiet competence, and her men have learnt to trust in her skill and rely on the chain of command. Atheneia is a soldier of unshakeable faith with an air of authority about her, if one who still has the heart of a choleric young Commissar parts sanguine and maverick who cared dearly for her soldiers like a father and a brother.

Bio: Atheneia was born on 364.M41 on the Civilised World of Minerva. While she has no memory of her early childhood, Atheneia later learned she was the last surviving child of the Astra Militarum hero Pyrrha Nikos, who once commanded the 1st Minervan Tank Legion and died in battle against Chaos under unknown circumstances. Atheneia therefore was raised under the care of drill abbots of the Schola Progenium, indoctrinated in the Imperial Creed from youth and serving no culture but that of loyalty and the swift execution of her duties on an ocean world shrouded in endless storms.

There, the Drill Abbots drove Atheneia to become amongst the truest servants of the Imperium through mindscaping, schooling, and training to an almost inhuman degree. When the time came for her Trials of Compliance, she passed on the first attempt with the highest score in her class—and a score equal to her mother’s over a century prior. Selection Day then came and when Atheneia showed a militant inclination through her strong mind, unwavering loyalty and discipline, she was assigned to the Schola Prefectus to train as a Commissar at age fifteen.

As a Cadet Commissar, Atheneia served under Commissar-General Pelagon of the Valerian Heavy Cavalry regiments for three years, gaining the full rank of Commissar on Pelagon’s deathbed after the Commissar-General was assassinated by agents of Chaos. Atheneia then served as a political officer with the 7th Valerian Heavy Cavalry, from the regiment’s foundation to its victory on Normandium ending the Germanicus Crusade. During those three decades of fast-paced frontline fighting alongside the 37th Valerian, Atheneia steadily lost her indoctrinated dispassion and became more maverick in leadership style—an empathetic and inspirational officer who led by example, not by doctrine.

Following that campaign, Atheneia served as the ranking Officio Prefectus agent for the 7th Valerian, playing a crucial part in the battle for the world of Normandium. There, she led her tankers alongside the Warmaster Nikephorus at the spearhead of the Imperial landing by air and sea. In the battle, 7th Valerian took on and destroyed the Forces of Chaos’ airfields and spaceports. They stormed the Halodreth’s Threshold—the first Imperial unit to do so—and destroyed the Spire of Pride where Atheneia slew the Chaos warlord Ismenius and his daemon-engine mount through deceptive stratagems and judicious firepower, ultimately winning the battle and earning the Valerian’s a place in the annals of Imperial glory.

This great victory finally opened a corridor into the beleaguered sector for the Crusade to advance against the Archenemy. But the triumph came at the cost of Nikephorus’ life, mortally wounded during the battle. As she lay dying, Nikephorus promoted Atheneia to the rare rank of Colonel-Commissar and gave Atheneia command of two regiments: the 101st and 400th Minervan Tank Legions, both of which were among the third of Minervan regiments which were fully amphibious.

These two regiments had fought at the worst front at Normandium. Their victory was costly too, and neither were now anywhere near full strength. During the next two decades years, she led the old-made-new regiment through two major campaigns ranging through Segmentum Solar which focused on urban warfare—in which the regiment soon became somewhat specialized in tactics, techniques, procedures, and equipment. Hello, Once again very well written and organized. I only have a few issues with the application and they’re all in regards to the Regimental section.

Are you going Heavy or regular Armor? If Heavy then you’ll just be fielding Heavy tanks and 3-5 super Heavies. A Heavy Tank Regiment would also be much smaller and be considered very large formation if sporting a few hundred Heavy Tanks.

If regular armor you can get away with having several thousand vehicles (tanks, spa, logistics, etc) and have the personnel numbers you posted.

Lastly, and this is more a fluff thing, Storm Bolters aren’t used by the Guard. The kind of bolters which are pintle or axial mounted are regular bolters or uncommonly a heavy Bolter is sometimes coaxially mounted.

Couple reasons. Irl most Colonels or General Staff Officers are in their late 40s and up.

In 40k if you have access to it (which the majority of Imperial citizens do not) there exists a number of treatments to prolong life. For example my character has gone through a ‘rejuvenat’ treatment which is a chemical and sometimes surgical procedure that, depending on quality, can halt or reverse aging for decades. So while he’s over a century old his body is that of someone far younger. Which is why you’ll see humans in the lore sometimes living over 300 years. Start adding in cybernetics and you’ll see even longer with some like Gerard Bure pushing 700.

I didn't know there was an actual distinction between heavy and regular armor! Good to know. Thanks for the clarification there and on pintle mounts. I'd only been able to read on the wiki about what I'd written, which had said 9 to 12 super-heavies for well-equipped armor regiments, etc.

I'll retool the app as heavy armor so the battlegroup has some super-heavies and heavies for breakthrough ops. Unless you think it more appropriate given the battlegroup's CO's intent to have a regular armor regiment instead?

As she lay dying, Nikephorus promoted Atheneia to the rare rank of Colonel-Commissar and gave Atheneia command of two regiments: the 101st and 400th Minervan Tank Legions, both of which were among the third of Minervan regiments which were fully amphibious.

These two regiments had fought at the worst front at Normandium. Their victory was costly too, and neither were now anywhere near full strength. Atheneia thus reorganized them into the 501st Minervan Tank Legion in 422.M41, promoting soldiers who showed initiative, intelligence, and good leadership during the campaign—she knew many of them from previous battles.

During the next two decades years, she led the old-made-new regiment through two major campaigns ranging through Segmentum Solar which focused on urban warfare—in which the regiment soon became somewhat specialized in tactics, techniques, procedures, and equipment. Over her service, Atheneia has earned many awards and honors—including access to rejuvenat treatments to extend her lifespan and maintain her capabilities, as well as a noble title and holdings in perpetuity on her homeworld of Minerva. Under her leadership, the 501st Minervan Tank Legion, its individual subunits and soldiers earned the Triple Skull, the Ribbon Intrinsic, and scores of other awards and honors thousands of times—and their epithet, “Victory’s Fist,” for their glorious victories against opposing forces which outnumbered and outgunned them terribly time and time again. When occasions to display these come, they do so with great pride and dignity in memory of their honored dead. Of interesting note is that the 101st and 400th Minervan Tank Legions remain the official designations in Administratum records. As such, the 501st usually receives double the standard supplies by the Departmento Munitorum.

In 40k if you have access to it (which the majority of Imperial citizens do not) there exists a number of treatments to prolong life. For example my character has gone through a ‘rejuvenat’ treatment which is a chemical and sometimes surgical procedure that, depending on quality, can halt or reverse aging for decades. So while he’s over a century old his body is that of someone far younger. Which is why you’ll see humans in the lore sometimes living over 300 years. Start adding in cybernetics and you’ll see even longer with some like Gerard Bure pushing 700.

Personality: Is often considered somewhat cold, but this is more due to the fact that her actions inevitably lead to dozens or hundreds of deaths, and she must maintain detachment in order to do her duty to the best of her ability, but in truth she is rather fierce, often leading from the front and getting into the thick of the fighting.

Biography: Born as the fifth daughter to the matriarch of the largest Hive on Telrade, Sela's future prospects were more or less already decided. She would not inherit the position of Matriarch, the captaincy of the Nasiritan House Guard, control over the trade prospects, or anything else of much note on Telrade itself. But the one thing she might come to inherit was the colonelcy of the Telrade 4th Heavy Infantry Regiment, if the fates and her skills decided she deserved it. With this in mind Sela began the harsh training of a Telrade Swords woman earlier then most. Trained by veterans of the House Guard, as well as returned veterans from Telrades Imperial Guard regiments, her skills were honed in the two decades before she was sent off to join the junior officer corps of the Telrade 4th Heavy Infantry, but not before becoming a certified Sword Mistress of Telrade, and send off to war with customized weapons and armor, including an heirloom Power Sword, shaped as a long, curved saber.

Over the years Sela lead her company into battles time and again, always at the front, her skills and noble birth ensuring a quick rise through the ranks, though more so from her skills. After thirty years she assumed the colonelcy of the regiment, her birthright, as her aunt was terribly wounded and returned to Telrade. After another decade she was made a Major General, but instead of resigning herself to a sectors command staff she continued to lead her regiment from the field.

Regimental biography: The Telrade 4th Heavy Infantry, also simply known as the Telrade 4th as Telrade only raises Heavy infatry regiments, is one of the most distinguished Telrade regiments, serving the Imperium almost unceasingly for the past three millennia. It has also been the regiment of inheritance for the ruling Nasiritan family of Telrade for that length.

Like all Telrade regiments, it is entirely comprised of females, with the exception of any attached staff, such as Commissars. The women of Telrade are generally of large, powerful stock, with the average height of the the planets citizens in general being slightly over 2 meters tall. It is unknown why Telrade females are amazonian, some speculate they were the product of old gene experimentation, but nothing concrete has ever been proven. Regardless of the fact, Telrade developed a natural matriarchal society, and in some hives men are second class citizens.

Thanks to their large size and generally powerful builds, Telrade women make for fine heavy infantry, and the planets culture of swordsmanship also encourages Telrade regiments towards close quarters and melee fighting, and while they don't forgo ranged combat it is usually seen more as a way to suppress an enemy so that they be closed upon and engaged with blades.

The Telrade 4th is currently fully equipped, having enjoyed a two month period of rest and resupply of personnel and equipment before being sent to the Crusade.

Regiment Organizational Structure: 100,000 personnel

Standard Equipment:
The standard Telrade Guardswoman is equipped with a Las-rifle, Telrade variant heavy flak-armor with fully enclosed helmet with hazardous environment mask and enhanced optics (Only night vision for the vast majority of Guardswomen). The most notable feature of any Telrade regiment is that every single member has a sword of some sort, be it rugged chain-swords or Telrade Pattern Swords (A curved long-sword that is both longer and heavier then usual). Grenades are used sparingly, with usually only a single grenade per soldier thanks to the preferred tactics of melee fighting.

Examples of Telrade heavy flak armor

Veterans come with better equipment, usually full carapace variants of Telrade heavy flak-armor. Hellguns are also common, though Hotshot las-rifles are also common in their ranks. Veterans have access to better optical enhancements.

Officers of captain rank or above are typically of the Telrade nobility, and thus tend to have access to a higher quality and customized equipment, including power swords for a decent amount of them, but as these are family heirlooms and relics they are often used only in the most vital of engagements.

Biography: He was the fifth generation of Whiteshields that joined the newly formed regiment from Casca by the Crusader Command. After the swift minor hiccups that came from the Admech that came from how they built their own equipment and even modifying their equipment very heavily he was the last one in the chain of command that was willing to not be ruthlessly lobotomized by the angry Magos. It was goo as well as the first generation after the newly minted forces were able to serve much better to the standards of Crusade Command and is still trying to keep the strenuous favor with the Admechs, despite the regiment call them the Toaster Tyrants.

Type of Regiment: Light Infantry and Repair, and scavengers

Length of Service and founding year: 100 years, 391.M41
Regimental biography: The Regiment was founded from the ancestors of gangers who lived on the penal world of Casca who fought back against the tide of Chaos that washed over the planet for over five hundred years. It all started when one of the warp storms of the sector came over the subsector where Casca was on. Casca at the time was newly colonized before the warp storms hit. The Lord Arbitus at the time got the word where the subsector governor fell as the entire capital planet became consumed by the Warp.

Chaos warbands and cultist uprisings overtook the Imperial command overnight. To the many gangers and mutants, it was freedom of the greatest feeling. They overthrew the oppressors of the Imperial Creed and how they got the ability to live how they wanted. Those dreams were dashed however when Chaos actually started to pop up on the planet. Massive rituals, daemons, and genocide on each other made them see that the Imperium was right on this.

So, instead of abled bodied soldiers and living heroes to take up the banner of the Emperor, it was the gangers themselves. For the next five hundred years, the gangers and mutants of Casca took up the banner and fought Chaos wherever it was. They learned how to fight in their isolation and how to learn how to scavenge and build their own things as taking things of Chaos had spread Chaos among their ranks. Despite being faced against the unending tide of the Ruinous Powers, they fought against them and scored victories because they learned how Chaos worked and how different they worked.

During the last battles before they were reconnected with the greater Imperium, they started to use their own pattern lasguns that was more or less scavenged and made to have a higher rate of fire than the standard lasgun. This was because that the ganger loyalists were always outnumbered by those of Chaos. The idea of having more of a fire was a good idea but the Emperor blessed the loyalists when the Warp Storm went away and the Imperial response was rapid to the subsector.

When the Imperials sent their local guardsmen and navy had seen that the penal world gangers stayed faithful to the Imperial Faith with no formal priesthood or tech-priests to help them build their armaments. Such things were smacked down by the loyalists, with extreme impunity. For the past four generations they accepted the priesthood for they are faithful to the Emperor, but they accepted those who were more lenient on the mutant and abhuman. The Admech were different. Knowing that the gangers had managed to understand and rebuild such of their technology was a grave tech-heresy.

The gangers didn't like the Tech-priests, being those who believed that they were in the right to do as they pleased when it came to technology. Many of their riggers were executed for even to dare stand up to them and the gangers then outright refuse to have the "Toaster Tyrants" on their planet. The response was to have some of the Administraum come to them to try and get them into the fold with the Adeptus Mechnicus of the local Forge World. It ultimately came to the Administraum had allowed the gangers to have a tithe of their own guardsmen that can fight chaos and the Admech would accept their riggers to get the formal training they needed to actually be concentrated in the ways of the Omnisaiah and give up their technology except their pattern lasgun.

This started the more hate-love relationship with the Toaster Tyrants of the Admechs but they were still able to field their riggers as expert field mechanics. While it took them five whole generations to actually stay in line with what the Tech-Priests wanted from them but theirs always some groups of Corsairs who loot and scavenge things to the point of modifying their equipment to heavily. Such things are either and instant execution or a formal complaint launched then an instant execution.

While its tolerated for the Corsairs to scavenge and retrofit their equipment in minor ways to what suit the regiments needs, they try to regulate the more expansive ways before the Toasters come down upon them. However, their expertise as a light infantry regiment local to the Sector had gotten them to be transferred to Crusade Command in exchange for more loot and concessions to their planet. They also requested that the Toaster Tyrants stop shooting them and their own Robed-Riggers get more of a number around them.
Regiment Organizational Structure:
The commander of the regiment is known as the Big Boss or Boss Man/Lady. They maintain the regiment's loyalty, balance out the needs of the Purse Stringer and the Admech who are always looking for heresy. Then there's the commissar. The current one is Big Boss Blue Eyes McGee, who survived a recent purging 30 years ago from people trying to rebuild their equipment.

Second-in-Command is the Purse Stringer. Purse Stringer is their quartermaster and head of the Scavenger teams. They make sure that they are able to get anything and everything supplied to both man, mutant, and Toaster Tyrant. They also allocate and divvy up any and all scavenge they get on the battlefield.

Tyrant Toasters and Robed Riggers are one and the same to most except for how they act and where they come from. Tyrant Toasters are standard Tech Priests who come from the local Forge World of the Sector. They usually are there to watch the Cascan Tech Priest and to shoot any of the Corsairs who do any form of tech-heresy. They are not well liked and don't honestly care. They are there to make sure that the regiment stays up to code and their machine-spirits are pleased.

Robed Riggers are different. Tech Priest who come from Casca and have history or were former riggers that joined with their more fleshy brethren. They are treated with upmost respect of their station and use that to make sure the rules of the Omnisaiaah are enforced more passively then with those who are marked as Tyrant Toasters. The Riggers themselves are marked with the Regiment Skulldugger to show that they are natives for the regiment to enforce it with some degree.

Scavs and Grunts are those who are the lightly armored grunt troops of the regiment. Mostly kitted with the standard issue guardsmen body armor but colored rusted and scarred up to show off the signatures of the regiment and their own individuality. Their are markings to mutants, abhumans, and pure strains but they are all accepted in the regiment so long as they fight for the Emperor and watch out for the Toaster Tyrants.
