Yuhansa Region Airport Authority or Pangular Yuhansa Anjuganbasu Otoriti is a state-owned company that are responsible for the management of airports in Western Islands Group (or Yuhansa Islands Group) of Soracana Islands. The company was established in 1982 following decentralization process in the country. Yuhansa Region Airport Authority has its head office in Nilayam and several branch offices located in Gato Uyuri and Halangnehu.

History

Before 1982
To increase the airports performance in Soracana Islands, Government of Soracana decided to established a state-owned company that oversees the operation and management of all airports. In total there are 14 airports in the country which divided into 2 class. First Class airports are airports that cater international flights and notably as the gate to enter the country. There are 5 First Class Airports which located in main cities. Second Class Airports are domestic airports which mostly cater domestic flights. These airports usually has short runway and limited accommodation.

In 1964, Government of Soracana initially established Soracana Islands Airports Authority (Jili Soracana Anjuganbasu Otoriti) as the sole airport authority in the country. It manage all the 14 airports that in operation. The company had its head office in Nilayam with several branch office notably in Ruacalu, Gato Uyuri and Bahuakapit. As the airports become more and more demanding, SIAA decided to create 2 separate departments, Yuhansa Region Department (which cater all airports in Yuhansa Region including one airport in Gato Uyuri) and Aksaranca Region Department (which cater all airports in Aksaranca Region).

As the country progression from a unitary state into federal state, there was also a demand to give airport management into the federal state (or region). The moved was viewed as giving much responsibility to the region to manage their economy and transportation. The first plan was to divided airport authority into 3 separates companies based on the region created in Soracana. But with the fact that Uyuri Capital Region only has 1 airport, the plan was dismissed. The second plan came forward in 1979 which initially release both departments in SIAA into separate company and make Soracana Islands Airport Authority as their parent company.

After 3 parties meeting held in 1980 to 1982, between Minister of Transportation and Public Works, The Regional Government and SIAA Managements, it was finalized the creation of 2 separate companies to manage the airports in Soracana Islands. Yuhansa Region Airport Authority is given the authority of 7 airports in Yuhansa Region and Uyuri Capital Region. While Aksaranca Region Airport Authority is also given the authority of another 7 airports in Aksaranca Region. On the other hand, Soracana Islands Airports Authority is changed into Soracana Islands Airport Holdings and become its parent company.

After 1982
Yuhansa Region Airport Authority begin its operation in 1982 with the finalization of formal handover of 7 airports from SIAA. Their first task is to connect all the First Class Airports in their respected region to the neighboring countries. These task was commenced by addition of flights to Pemecutan and other nations.

The company makes several upgrade to the airports notably Nilayam International Airport and Gato Uyuri International Airport, as both are the busiest airport in Soracana Islands. Upgrade including runway and terminal enlargement to cater more plane and passengers and new technology for safety and security issue.

Operations
Currently Yuhansa Region Airport Authority has the authority to manage 7 airports in the western part of Soracana Islands. There are 3 First Class airports and 4 Second Class airports.

Nilayam International Airport or locally known as Nilayam Duranugara Anjuganbasu (IATA: JNY) is a major civilian airport in Soracana Islands that serve Nilayam and the whole Nilam Bay Area. It is located in Nilampatak Municipality around 13 km northwest of Nilayam city center.

JNY is the largest and busiest airport in Soracana Islands. The airport is owned by Yuhansa Regional Government. And it is operated by Yuhansa Region Airport Authority after an official handover in 21 August 1979 from Soracana Islands Airports Authority. It is the first out of 7 airports in Yuhansa Islands Group that was being handover to YRAA following the regionalism of SIAA.

History

Nilayam International Airport was previously known as Nilayam Airfield. It was built by British in 1917 when Soracana Islands was still become a protectorate state of the British Empire. The airport was the first airport that being built in the nation. It was built for military purpose which station British Air Forces for Soracana Islands. During the World War II, the airport was heavily damaged. A restoration efforts was commenced in 1948 for about 3 years. The airport was reopen again in 1952 for military purpose. In 1956, the airport flew its first civil plane from Nilayam to Ruacalu.

Together with Gato Uyuri Airport and Ruacalu Airport, Nilayam International Airport were the first airport to be operated by Soracana Islands Airports Authority after the company was established in 1964. But the airports performance in Soracana Islands were still poor during the time. Many peoples still prefer traveling via sea for inter-island transport. Regionalism arise in Soracana Islands in 1970's which demand more power given to the region. And airport management is one of it. Soracana Islands Airports Authority then create 2 divisions, Yuhansa Airports Department and Aksaranca Airports Department. But the decision still couldn't satisfied the regional party which in power during the period. Finally, in 1982 Yuhansa Airports Department was released and re-establish as Yuhansa Region Airport Authority. This Airport Authority is a subsidiary of Soracana Islands Airport Authory which also change its name into Soracana Islands Airports Holding.

Nilayam International Airport become the first airport to be handover to the newly establish subsidiary. Yuhansa Region Airport Authority then renovated most of the airport. Expanded its runaway and enlarge its terminal. A new international terminal was also being built to cater international flights. Safety and security become high concern after an accident happened in 1989. Nilayam Airport Security Department was created which includes Nilayam Airport Fire Brigade, Nilayam Airport Police and Nilayam Airport Medic.

Another renovation was commenced in 2002 with the runway expansion into its current length, apron and taxiways enlargement. The Airport Tower was also being renovated during the 2002 renovation.

Gato Uyuri International Airport or Gato Uyuri Duranugara Anjuganbasu (IATA: JGU) is one of five international airports that operates in Soracana Islands. The airport is serve the capital of Soracana Islands, Gato Uyuri and the whole Uyuri Capital Region. It is located 7 km southwest of the city center in Humangan municipality. JGU is the second busiest airport in the nation after Nilayam International Airport. The airport is owned by Yuhansa Regional Government and operated by Yuhansa Region Airport Authority. JGU was transferred from Soracana Islands Airport Authority to Yuhansa Region Airport Authority on 11 January 1981, becomes the second airport to be handover to the newly established company.

History

Before Gato Uyuri International Airport, there was another airport that serves the capital of Soracana. The airport was Uyuri Capital Airport which was located in the western edge of Gato Uyuri near the border with Ambarpakel. It was the first fully civilian airport in Soracana Islands which was built in 1927. The airport was built jointly by Soracana Government and British Government to connect the Western part and the Eastern part of the nation. Although during that day there were only chartered flights, it surely increase the citizens knowledge of air transportation. Aside from passenger, the airport also used for cargo transport which ease the commodities transportation rather than via sea. During World War II, the airport was partially damage and it was out of service after the runway was damaged.

In 1950, there was a plan to built a new airport that will serve the capital with the vision of possible enlargement in the future. As the site of former Uyuri Capital Airport is limited for further expansion, another site was consider. Mayor of Humangan, Aksayuha Balagundi, proposed the use of barren land near the border of Gato Uyuri as the site of the new airport. And after the proposal was approved by Minister of Transportation and Public Works, the new airport was established. The new airport was officially open in 1955 with the name Gato Uyuri Airport.

Following regionalism that happened in Soracana Islands, Gato Uyuri International Airport at first was planned to have its own airport authority. But the planned was scrapped to keep the company structure thin. The airport then included in Yuhansa Region Airport Authority. The official handover was commenced in 11 January 1981 and become the third airport to be transferred to Yuhansa Region Airport Authority. As with other airport under YRAA, JGU also being renovated which begin in 2004. The renovation includes extended runways, enlargement terminal, addition of plane hangars, and upgrade of safety and security technology.

Halangnehu-Nehu Island International Airport or Halangnehu-Jili Nehu Duranugara Anjuganbasu (IATA: JHN) is the main airport in south of Yuhansa Region and regard as the gate to southern Yuhansa. The airport is located in Halangnehu, the largest city in south Yuhansa. It is consider as one of the most picturesque airport because of its location which is near the coastline of Nehu Island. JHN is the fifth busiest airport in Soracana Island and the second busiest in southern Soracana after Jading International Airport. JHN is owned by Yuhansa Regional Government and operated by Yuhansa Region Airport Authority. The airport was handover to Yuhansa Region Airport Authority (YRAA) from Soracana Islands Airport Authority (SIAA) in 21 March 1982 and become the last airport to be transferred.

History

As the air transportation become known by Soracanian, there was a vision to also connect the southern part of the nation via air travel. Previously, all travels to the southern islands were done by sea. Abayantasi and Calu Humang Port become a major passenger port in Yuhansa Island for connection to southern islands. In Nehu Island, Halangnehu Port has become a major passenger port in the island and the whole Nehu Islands Province (which also includes Patak Island and Kajang Island). All ships that sail from Yuhansa Island will be harbored in Halangnehu before continue their voyage to Bihaspatak (in Patak Island) or Marakajang (in Kajang Island).

To ease and shorten the travel time between Yuhansa and Nehu Islands, an airport was established. Halangnehu Airport was built in 1941 just a year before World War II hit Soracana Islands. The airport then cease to operate when Soracana Islands was involved in World War. In 1951, Halangnehu Airport was reopen after some renovation cause by World War II. The airport mostly cater cargo, although passengers also being flown to the airport from Nilayam, Gato Uyuri, Ruacalu and Bahuakapit. Like any others airports in Soracana at the time, all passenger flights were chartered or seasonal flights. JHN getting busier after the opening of Bihaspatak Airport and Kajang Island Airport. The airport then become the transfer airport from Nilayam or Ruacalu on their flight to Patak and Kajang Island.

When regionalism spread in Soracana, Halangnehu Airport was plan to become part of newly established authority, Yuhansa Region Airport Authority. Although the provincial government was eager for the transferred but the process was very slow. Eventually, the airport was transferred in early 1982 and become the last airport to be transferred together with Bihaspatak Patak Island Airport and Kajang Island Airport. Yuhansa Region Airport Authority changed the appearance of the airport and made the airport as their third international airport after Nilayam and Gato Uyuri. This moved was made to directly connect the southern Yuhansa Region into international market and boost the tourism sector there. So from Halangnehu-Nehu Island International Airport, all international flight will be able to stopping and change into domestic flights to go to Patak Island and Kajang Island.

There is a concern about the expansion of the airport in the future in case of the current facilities are over capacity. The concern is raise as the fact that the area around the airport has become built-up area for civilian and commercial purpose. Yuhansa Region Airport Authority has a plan to relocate the airport into the coast and make a semi floating airport or they might be reclaimed the coastal area to make more room for future expansion.

Application

To ease the sorting and managing all applications that coming to the Authority, Yuhansa Region Airports Authority provide several applications form to cater the needs of the Authority and for the desired applicants. There are 3 types of forms, Route Establishment Application for airlines company, Business Establishment Application for business and leisure applicants and Maintenance Service Applications for airports maintenance company.

Route Establishment Application

In this section address the application form for airlines company who wish to established a route into one of our international airports. There are a few notes to be consider before filling the application form.

Note:
In sending the application towards the Authority, a cover letter is much appreciated from the applicants although it is not mandatory. A simple filled form will be accepted also.
For applicants that wish to delivered a cover letter in their application letter, the receiver is as follows;

Each International Airport will have separate application letter, so please carefully notice the application form that you wish to fill.
For Flights Lengths, the Authority defines its definitions as follows;
- Short Haul; for Airlines based in Melayu Archipelago, RL Southeast Asia and Australia continent
- Medium Haul; for Airlines based in RL East Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, New Zealand and the rest of Oceania
- Long Haul; for Airlines based in RL Middle East, Europe (including Siberia or North Asia) and Africa
- Ultra Long Haul; for Airlines based in RL America (North and South)
Please notify that all airlines that has been accepted by the Authority will be fully served from each Airports International Terminal. Gate assigned to the airlines will be based on availability during the time of flights (departure and arrival).
Each application form only for one route. If applicants wants to establish more than one route connection for the same Airport, please fill a new form.
