It is hard. I wonder how they did that.

I've decided I need to read a good book about the history of the ideas and beliefs of Hell/good commentary on what the Bible says or about the verses people use to point out "Hell is real!"

I've read two books this year that mentioned briefly in passing the topic but I need to read it more in depth to figure out what I actually believe - though the brief mentions in the other two books have pushed me further away from believing in Hell. Could have used that years ago and enjoyed a bit less anxiety.

I happily managed to delete most of the pre-2016 history of me from the face of the internet. The games I made, the stories I wrote, the really awkward blogs all gone. I still have them on hard drives because I'm obsessed with redundancy, so if I ever go insane those may pop up again.

I think Christianity without Hell makes more sense. What's the point in fear of going to an evil place being the main motivation or only motivation for you to 'believe' in God or do good, nice things?

Not to say everybody who believes in Hell has the fear of going there as a sole motivation, of course.

Hell seems like a way to manipulate people. Fear of hell could make someone do something they normally wouldn't do. That's the most disturbing thing about it.

The 20 foot tall walrus takes you on a magical trip to a land beyond the sea.

Probably not, but if that is indeed what occurs, then I guess you get bragging rights.

My view on death is rather complex. I can't know for certain what lies after the cessation of bodily functions, but some things seem more likely than others. Being a Platonist in my metaphysics, I believe that the "soul" (for lack of a more precise English term) is eternal, but that does not mean that you (in any practical sense, that is) are. In essence, although our "souls" are eternal, they are not aware after death. In many respects the state of one in the eons after one dies is similar to the state of one in the eons before one's birth; you may "exist", but only in a sense so divorced from the normal connotations of "exist" that the only ones who will know any comfort are philosophers and other pedantic academic types with their heads ostritched up their collective rears.

But I digress. I suppose then that while in a strictly "de jure" sense I believe in the immortality of the soul, in a "de facto" sense I believe that all are consigned to a state of oblivion after the end of life. Perhaps, and this is a very big perhaps, some scattered individuals might figure out how to enter into such a psychological state so as to experience eternal bliss instead of... well, nothing, but I wouldn't bet on it if I'm to be quite honest with y'all.
I may return for somewhat longer than I was initially expecting. Why am I here? No idea whatsoever. I really ought to find some way out of this place.

Also, the NS stats don't reflect my RL views, just to clarify.

Exactly.

Being frightened or scared into believing in God, Jesus, etc. or else you're going to burn eternally in a lake of fire is simply not genuine faith. I mean, if you put a gun to my head and told me to do anything short of hurting somebody I'd probably do it.

There are people who would hurt someone in that situation. It's very wrong to scare someone that much.

I honestly hate when I stumble upon a drawing or animation style that I fall in love with. I fell the need to want to recreate it but am afraid I won't be able to inject enough of my own style to keep it from just being a copy.

Well you could just do what I do and have not artistic qualities whatsoever.
Most of the time I have no idea what the hell I'm doing or talking about.
