Elke Ute Schäfer (born 14 March 1979), Her Excellency Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, is a Yohannesian solicitor and diplomat who is the first and current Ambassador of Yohannes to Pooshland. Her accreditation was registered by Parliament’s Advisory, Press and Private Committee on 20 September 2019.

Raised by her parents Dennis and Petra in Royal Alexandria, Schäfer was educated at the state-integrated Riß an der (on the River) Lahn Grammar School and attended the University of Yohannes to study law. Upon her graduation in 2001, she was chosen to become one of many promising interns for the World Assembly Mission of the Nineteen Countries. Schäfer returned to Yohannes after two years to work at the specialist litigation and arbitration firm Hartmann Barristers & Solicitors in Charlotte Bridge over the Main. Coming into contact with then local Member of Parliament for the Neheim-Hüsten electorate, her name was forwarded as a possible Legal Attaché for the Yohannesian embassy in the Gothic Empire of Automagfreek.

Following the 2018 presidential election victory of Marion Maréchal-Le Men and the GOP, Schäfer was nominated, in her position as a senior diplomat and provisional parliamentary adviser at the time, as a possible candidate for the Office of Ambassador in Pooshland. In September 2019, her candidacy was finalised before Parliament’s International Diplomacy and Advisory Committee, and following her accreditation she became the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Realm of Yohannes to the Federation of Pooshland.

The Von Bismarck Intercultural Scholar Programme is one of the most competitive grants for promising secondary school and university students in the Nineteen Countries; it forces participants to go outside their comfort zones on a culturally enriching exchange programme outside Yohannes.
