The 1st Imperial Strike Group made way at impulse speed, the small squadron surveying the new system around them. The flagship, the ANS Demeter, a Karun-Class Dreadnought, was sitting at point in the formation, with a battlecruiser on either side and four battleships taking the tail. The Demeter had its shields up and so did the rest of the fleet, and small survey scout craft flew about the system, scanning planets and investigating asteroids. It was calm, an almost everyday, menial task to the crews of the 1st.

Of course that would quickly change.

At the comms station, an alarm began to blare as Survey Craft 441-A lit up red, a code 4 appearing. The left engine had been struck by an unknown object and been severely damaged by the collision, and due to it the ship was leaking oxygen.

“SC441, you are leaking oxygen. Seal off your engine bay and return to the mothership immediately.”

The message went unanswered and after several repetitions the Comms officer, Ms. Naiden, grew concerned. On visual the ship was sitting still and powered off, with a jet of gas shooting from the back engine.

“SC441, Come in. SC441. SC441, Come in.”

“No answer.”

The Captain of the Demeter, Captain Dyran, ordered a rescue team sent. A single corvette ship was released from the corvette bay in the Dreadnought, and the small ship began making its way to the damaged survey craft, scanning.

No lifeforms.

As the corvette approached, the reason for the ruin was suddenly made clear as something smashed into the Corvette, ripping a hole into the side and causing the vaccuum to suck out several crewmen and supplies. The railgun turret on the corvette wheeled around to face the source and on visual came an oddly-marked cruiser, armed with six railguns and four torpedo bays. The Demeter opened fire immediately with its twin Lances, and the beams rang true and ripped the ship in half, destroying it entirely. Luckily two survey craft were able to photograph the ship before the lances were fired, allowing for further study.

To aid our neighbors

In a gesture of good will and generosity in the name of our Emperor, the First Estate as well as the Imperial Navy of our Holy Empire will be constructing five military bases within the borders of the nation of Aradia, now this will not come without cost, the Imperial Household will be paying a large undisclosed fee to the Aradian government in order to build these forts. The first already being begun is Fort Aeylgarn, named after the Imperial Household, it will house the logistical units needed to deliver the war recovery supplies to the citizens of this recovering nation. We can only hope that this is the first act in a good international policy in the nation of Aellyria.

Prince Claude has announced his engagement to foreign princess and fashion magazine editor Elisabeth d’Aurelains, with a royal wedding to take place in Aurann later this year.

King Alexandre's official residence, Maroussi Palace announced the engagement at 10am on Monday, after a weekend of speculation in the Aurannite press that the announcement was imminent.

The couple became engaged earlier in Iyosa this month, Maroussi House said, and both families had given their blessing to the union.

Prince Claude and Princess Elisabeth have been in a relationship since early this year, after first meeting in February of 2087 in Cinyras. The wedding planned for sometime between September and November next year, will fall close to the beginning of Aurann, as a resident in the Southern Hemisphere’s summer time.

Princess Elisabeth, a granddaughter of monarchs from Derita, Russlande and Espana, is the Deritain daughter of a Deritain father and Espanard mother and, soon after their relationship was announced, Prince Claude made an unofficial visit to her home. Communications on behalf of the Prince have warnings too the press after fiery article in regards to the princess’ “foreign background” as she will be the first person outside of the continental royal families, though of neighboring, Naterasse, Catorana or Garianlles; to marry into Aurann’s.

The 30-year-old prince and 22-year-old princess will appear in their first television interview on Monday night after an official photo shoot at Iyosa Royal Palace in the afternoon.

The smiling couple showed their engagement ring during their photocall in the sunken garden at Iyosa Royal Palace - one of Queen Ester, Prince Claude’s mother and a Catorish princess by birth’s favourite spots.

Prince Claude designed the gold ring which has a diamond from Derita at its centre. Two outside stones are from his maternal grandmother, Queen Dowager Alexandra's extensive collection.

Derita is the childhood home of Princess Elisabeth, as well as the number one producers of diamonds and the couple have spent time there together over the last few months.

They will live at Sellasia Palace, leaving behind the Crown Prince’s apartments with his parents the King and Queen.

"His Majesty the King of the Aurannites is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Claude to Princess Elisabeth d’Aurelains. The wedding will take place in spring of this year," the statement said.

"Prince Claude has informed His Majesty The King and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of the Princess d’Aurelians parents, the Duke and Duchess of Aurelians."

Prince Claude’s sister, Clothilde and her husband Mikael VII, King of Garianlles, said they were "very excited" for the couple.

"It has been wonderful getting to know Elisabeth and to see how happy she and Claude are together," the King and Queen of Garianlles said.

Princess Elisabeth’s parents, Prince Jean, Duke of Aurelians, and Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Aurelians, said they were "incredibly happy" with the news.

"Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person," the couple said."To see her union with Claude, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together."

Former prime minister Maximilien Donnet was quick to send out his congratulations.

"Congratulations to Crown Prince Claude and Princess Elisabeth. Wonderful news and I wish them a long and happy life together."

A short time later, the current premiership office issued a statement offering Mr. Lemaître’s “warmest congratulations"

"This is a time of huge celebration and excitement for two people in love and, on behalf of myself, the Government and the country, I wish them great happiness for the future."

The Crown Prince’s step-grandmother, the ever beloved and vocal Queen Dowager Wilhelmina of the Aurannites said she was "absolutely delighted" to hear the news.

"I wish them many years of love, happiness and fulfilment – and ask that God blesses them throughout their married life together," she said.

Actium, February 6th 2088

Imperial Strike Group Alpha, consisting of 40 corvettes, 20 battlecruisers, 4 battleships and the ANS Juno, a heavy dreadnought, set off on a fourteen year journey towards the L944KGAC System, located six hundred lightyears away from the Damascusa Yara system, the first colonized by Aradira. The ships were to continue to L94 and then halt there, survey the system and prepare it for colonization. The fleet set off on January 2nd, and only a few weeks afterward all contact was lost.

Aboard the Juno

On the viewer in the bridge, the captain of the Juno observed a corvette surveying the broken world orbiting the main star in DHAC-TI5, dubbed ‘Actium’ by the commanders. The rest of the fleet sat back and waited, with their weapons primed as the corvette surveyed celestial body after celestial body. Though the eyes of the fleet were not on the corvette, but rather on the inactive megastructure sitting on the opposite end of the System. Dubbed, ‘Trojan’, it seemed to be some sort of Jumpgate similar to those designed in Terrybrane as a faster warp lane to allied systems. Weapons were trained on it as the small ship continued its job, but it would never finish that task.

The gate suddenly flared awake, a blue tear in space opening wide as several thousand prominent energy traces were detected. The corvette quickly moved back into position with the rest of the fleet, and the small battlegroup faced its fate as several thousand corvettes of strange design and unknown origin appeared, accompanied by several battleships, cruisers, destroyers and dreadnoughts. All of them moved in peculiar unison, as if there was a single organism flying all of them. What made this encounter terrifying to the battlegroup, however, was that this giant swarm of ships fired as soon as they spotted the Terran battlegroup.

Torpedos, beams, and plasma pulses flew all through the void as the small Terran battlegroup quickly turned to full impulse and made way for the system’s nebula, praying they made it as several corvettes were hit by alien missiles and destroyed. Finally making it to the nebula the battlegroup wheeled around and primed torpedos, and soon a cheer erupted on comms as a corvette wheeled forward and slung a rail round forward, striking a swarm corvette in the bridge and cutting it down, The cheers were short lived though as two beams erupted from a swarm battleship, splitting the corvette in two. The Terran battlegroup was unable to stand up to this swarm, but the Captain had one last tactic to try. As a last ditch attempt at victory, the Juno primed its X-Class cannon, the Tachyon Lance. After priming the weapon was aimed at the Mothership located by two brave fighters, and fired.

The blue lance tore through the void of space and struck the mothership with a bright flash, and cut into the Swarm Mothership. A black-crusted slice into the ship appeared from the lance, and the melted interior of the ship shone like a dying star. The Mothership began to fall towards the only Colonizable world, Acadian, and soon its power shut off as the reactor exploded in a flameless explosion. The remaining ships, their main flagship destroyed, flocked to the secondary flagships made from the large Dreadnoughts. The terrans cheered as the mothership sank, and soon the destroyers in the battlegroup aimed their torpedos and phase beams at the new minor parental ships, and opened fire. Torpedos crashed into swarm ships and tore holes into them, and phase beams tore caverns into the shields of the swarm. But the swarm never sank, as their own missiles and lances wrecked havoc and devastation against the Terran battlegroup, tearing apart cruiser after cruiser. The battlegroup made full impulse through the nebula, attempting to evade the sensors and weapon systems of the Swarm.

Hours of fighting went by as the battlegroup fired on its assailants and then fled, employing hit and run attacks to whittle down the opponent they faced. Soon, after several triggers of the Tachyon Lance, the swarm began to break down, ships powering down and floating aimlessly as more torpedos struck into the Swarm. Soon the Swarm suddenly fled through the gate and it shut down, and seconds later the system went quiet.

After a moment of silence, the entire fleet cheered. They had taken severe losses, with only the Juno, four destroyers, a cruiser, and six corvettes remaining, but they had survived a much larger enemy’s onslaught. Finally establishing contact with a nearby Aradiran fleet, the Battlegroup made its report and soon a full armada was sent with science vessels to analyze the remains of Caesarian Swarm and its technologies.

Only days after the victory, the bodies of a hive mind species were discovered on one of the ships and named ‘Raxadari’, and soon after several energy and FTL signatures were detected lightyears away, showing an expanse of systems owned by the Raxadari in the outer rim of the galaxy. Several large signatures similar to that of Caesarian swarm were detected and named. The most vague one, in the Qoran system, was dubbed ‘Nocta Swarm’. The largest signature was named ‘Prima Swarm’, and the second prominent signature near Actium was dubbed “Daedalus Swarm’. Caesarian Swarm was detected once again, en route to Prima Swarm, and soon it was known that an alien race was out to get Aradira.

A day before the highly anticipated state royal wedding, the royal family hosted a Gala Dinner for the guests of the wedding in honour to Prince Roderic and Princess Stéphanie in the Royal Palace. The Racraiguan royal family presided the four main tables. The dinner was attended by 300 guests.

Roderic and Stéphanie occupied the imperial table and with them Kresimir V, the King of Makonia and his wife, Queen Charlotte; the King and Queen of Espana, Antonio and Adela; the Prime Minister of Great Hyruke and her wife, Sierra and Anna Parker-Lee and the Prime Minister of Scotland, Cairistiona Lovelace and her husband, Kristztian de Kocsis-Kodany.

At the table of King Jonatan XI were Empress Anna Charlotte of the Netherlands, the mother of the bride; the Grand Duke and Duchess of Selesbourge, Antoine and Auguste; the Princes of Orange; the Kuhina Mai of Mantara, and his daughter, Aliya as well as the Duke of Wessex, Alfred Percy and his wife, Theodosia.

At the table chaired by Queen Coralie, were former king Henrique, the father of the bride; the king and queen of Catorana, Svante V and Annika; the Duke and Duchess of Brabant, Baudouin and Sofia; Crown Princess Emily and her fiancé Prince Rafaël, and the kings of Cinyras, Enríkos II and Christian.

At the table of the Princess Irene and her husband, Cyrus Jakovoc were Elisabeth Percy, half-sister of the bride and her husband, Prince Alexandre; the Prince of Orange, Jacques; Prince Philippe and his wife Princess Nikolina, and Lord Urôs Marchant and his wife, Lady Jessamine Lovelace.

At 10:42 hours, the royal procession left by the Puerta del Rey of the Royal Palace of Madrid. Headed by an officer followed by six halberdiers, it consisted of:

* HM King Jonatan XI and Dona Castàlia Castello
* HM Queen Coralie and HRH Princess Atena.
* HRH Princess Francina and HH Princess Irene.
* Don Jeroni Aupí and Cyrus Jakovoc
* HM King Jonatan XI and HRH Crown Prince Jonatan.
* HM Queen Sofía and HH Prince Roderic

The bride arrived at 11:12 in the morning to the Cathedral in a car (a Rolls-Royce Phantom IV), instead of on foot as planned, due to the persistent and intense rain. She was escorted by her father, former king HM Henrique II of Espana. When HM King Jonatan XI entered the cathedral, the anthem of Racraigua sounded. At 11: 49 there was the moment of giving consent. Once the ceremony was over, the bride and groom left the Cathedral and toured the streets of Envodaigua.

After the religious ceremony, the newlyweds took a tour by car, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom IV, through the streets of the capiysl escorted by the Motorcycle Section of the Royal Guard, they left in a Rolls-Royce car covered by Guifré the First Street to the Cuesta de San Santiago, to reach the Racraigua Square. They continued along the Gran Vía, passing through the Reya de la Castello to Cuesta street, in the direction of Plaza de Tremossa.

There the motorized escort was relieved by the escort on horseback of the Royal Escort Squadron, composed of a Squadron of Batters, Band of Bugles and Timbales, and a Cuirassier Section. They continued through the Paseo del Pantiaga to the King Jonatan IV square and took the Bercusia City Avenue, to reach the Basilica of Our Lady of Malaquies, where they were received by the Mayor of Envodaigua, Domènec Dausset, the Cardinal Archbishop of Envodaigua, Monsignor Fernando José Miguel Atratiquiya, and the Priest of the Basilica, Father Carlos Juan Avarica . Once there, the Princess deposited the bridal bouquet before the image of the Virgin of Malaquies, traditional patron of Racraigua royalty.

Once finished, the Prince and Princess of Racraigua greeted the large audience present to begin their return to the Royal Palace by the same route they had used on the outward journey. In the Royal Palace, they greeted the large crowd gathered in the Plaza de Oeste from the balcony of the Royal Palace. To that greeting also joined both families, to join later to the rest of the guests at the banquet that was served later.

After the visit to the Malaquies’ Virgin, the newlyweds went to the Royal Palace for the bridal banquet. In the banquet, both King and his grandson gave a speech.
The King, in his toast, expressed to Stéphanie the enormous happiness and enthusiasm of the entire Royal Family for this event, asked the new spouses to always think of Racraigua, and to dedicate "with love and devotion, the best of your efforts to the Racraiguans, to join their hopes, share their illusions and be able to always fuse with their feelings and difficulties", with the certainty that "you are inspired by the passion to serve this great, diverse and plural country, proud of its coexistence in democracy and freedom."

Prince Roderic corresponded with his words, in which he expressed his great happiness, that "we will always think of Racraigua and that our whole life will be dedicated to the welfare of the Racraiguans," and thanked the constant expressions of affection and generosity, especially those of both families. The Prince finished with an emotional memory for "the absent, those who were not criminally and brutally allowed to continue living their illusions and anxieties, and also those who today can not enjoy with them, free and civically of the Envodaigua spring that welcomes us and it raises our spirits" (perhaps in reference to the late beloved Prince Jonatan and Prince Arthur, the couple’s brothers)

The royal menu was designed by famous Spanish chefs Beastrise de Escalapa and Antonio Byarigo and consisted on:
* A traditional appetizer to start with that consisted of Jabugo ham, Manchego cheese, breaded scallops and croquettes among other delicacies without forgetting the small details such as making special breads for the occasion made of white and whole wheat.
* Puff-pastry tartlet with seafood on a bed of vegetables.
* Roast capon with thyme and nuts.
* Cake.
* White and Red wine along with cava.[8]

The bridal cake was designed by renamed Racraiguan cakemaker Francisco Mornnoire. The cake consisted of a kind of chocolate serpentine of different floors. Along with the cake, different desserts were served, among which one of new creation that joined the tastes of both the groom and the bride, and was baptized as "Royal Gianduja"

The cost of the wedding was shared between the Government (who assumed the majority of the budget for security and public decoration of the streets) and the Royal House (who was in charge of the banquet, the wedding, dresses, invitations ...). Some estimates calculate that it cost between €212 to €425 million

Stéphanie wore the tiara with which Queen Coralie, of empire style, married in platinum and diamonds. The wedding dress, designed by Monica Sanchoveraz, was white, long sleeves, tight around the waist, neckline in the shape of a corolla, wide skirt and 4.5 meter tail embroidered with heraldic motifs. The nuptial cloak was a gift from the Prince to the Princess; with triangular shape, three meters long by two wide, of natural silk tulle in ivory white with scrolls and hand-embroidered wreaths, which mixed the fleur-de-lis and the spike. The shoes work and creation of the illicitana designer Emanuel López.

Roderic wore the Great Tag suit of the Army. The Emblem of the Infantry weapon was embroidered on the neck with golden thread, and in the cuffs are the badges corresponding to his use as Commander. The Prince also wears the Collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The Fleece or Vellocino hangs from the necklace in enameled gold. The son of the Crown Prince also carried the Grand Cross of the Necklace of the Order of Roderic IX and the sky blue sash. Another of the decorations that the Prince wore that day are the Great Crosses of Military, Naval and Aeronautical Merit.

The nebula is a thick cloud and only has two entry/exit points, which have been reported as being in the L94 and B82 star systems. The Nebula itself is highly dense and no manned exploration or drone has been able to get more than 5 meters inside before its reactor shut down entirely. All FTL jumps through it ended in the ships shutting down mid-jump and the crew dying. Drones suffered the same fate.

It is not recommended to attempt traversing this nebula through any point or system EXCEPT for L94 and B82. These two points are suggested as bastions against the Raxadari swarms, and as choke points against further attacks. Hyperlanes are not suggested through the corridors.

The Blackened Gate

The ANS Juno had made its patrol rounds several times that week before taking a lane back to G23-90, nicknamed ‘Carthage’. The Juno had been patrolling the systems closest to L94 and now required a refueling and a refitting with a new Tachyon Lance and Devastator Torpedos. As the Juno arrived in Carthage it was greeted by four Science vessels and a military quarantine. The home fleet had surrounded the center of the system, and it was a grand sight. Several dreadnoughts, battleships, cruisers, battlecruisers, carriers, and hundreds of corvettes and destroyers, it would be terrifying to those who were at war with Aradira. The flagship of the Home fleet, the Star Dreadnought ANS Athena, immediately contacted the Juno.

“ANS Juno, this system is under precautionary Quarantine. All military traffic is being diverted to G1-918-2. Please divert course.”

“This is the ANS Juno. We have resupply and refitting orders from High Command, and were told to come here for the overhaul. Is this a recent declaration?”

“High Command has designated this system under quarantine. A mysterious black gate has been ripped open in the center and the system has been deemed unsafe. Please divert course.”

Momentary silence, and then the Juno responded.

“This is the ANS Juno. Diverting course now.”
The ANS Juno and the battlegroup she led then turned hard to starboard, heading directly forward before initiating warp to the G1-918-2 Star. They would be refitted and resupplied there before returning to L94.

Launching of the Second Seidanese Exploration Expedition

Six years after the launching of the first Seidanese Exploration Expedition in 2082, today marked the launching of the second such expedition into the frontiers of space for scientific and colonial efforts for the overall benefit of the human race. This is to be the first such expedition under the reign of the young and glorious Emperor Syaoran though it is not expected to be the last in his heavenly blessed reign that hopefully shall last for decades to come. Named the Giâyđồnghồ Thămdò, the second exploration fleet, it is expected to push beyond the limits of Seidang's current stellar boundaries

The Giâyđồnghồ Thămdò is composed of thirty-five starships, built, like the member ships of the first exploration fleet, created by the Martin and Rocheforte production companies lead by Deritain and Gênoise directors and engineers with workers from Seidang, along with advisory board chiefly made up from directors and chief operators from Selesburgish companies, especially from Pontiperre Mining. The Thămdò has nine frigates, two from the original fleet, the Nhà Thám Hiểm, and theTieđường Sắt, as well as newly constructed ones, the Pontiperre, Syaoran, Martinette, Mỹ Xuân, La Áinhi, Uyên and Yếnloan, all of which are heavily armed and strong against all potential enemies. The Giâyđồnghồ Thămdò also has 26 corvettes, smaller but faster starships, that shall accompany as well as three carriers ships, the P-I, P-II, and P-III for economic and terracommercial missions and machinery.

Placed in command of the brand new and glorious Giâyđồnghồ Thămdò has been the heir presumptive, Prince Hiếu Xuân, serving as the second head of the Admiralty for Stellar Affairs or DDCS. DDCS served as the spearhead for the creation of the current Seidanese colonies. With extensive funding and sponsorships from Deritain, Gênoise and Selesburgish companies the expedition is estimated to cost 500 billion NSD with more costs for the extensive colonization of certain worlds. For the expedition, 860,000 volunteers were selected from the near three million people who signed up to be apparent of this historic event. The Admiralty for Stellar Affairs lead by Prince Hiếu Xuân are to report and receive orders from directly and exclusively the Emperor in order to ensure glory and perfection for the exploration of new worlds and systems that shall be incorporated into the empire.

Shortly after the Petit Dauphin's speech, it was announced that the Queen had approved the embargoing of any and all goods from Aellyria or nations that trade with Aellyria as not to contribute to the existence of slavery, as well as the set up of military blockade of Aellyria on Earth and forbidding the use of Gênoise space for transport or transmission from the Aellyrian homeland to the Aellyrian colonies. The Petit Dauphin attests that illegal forms of slavery and human trafficking, such as in the sex industry and in labor-intensive industries are also on the agenda to combat, with pressure being applied to Dattan to combat against these inhumane travisties.

Aradira cuts trade with Aellyria!

After a heated debate within the Senate and several private deliberations between the King and the more influential senators, King Steben has officially announced the temporary withdrawal of Aradiran trade with Aellyria on grounds of humanitarian abuse and slavery, which the international community has been boiling over for some time. After several attempts at arranging a peaceful conference and several attempts to stay neutral, the international community has given Aradira no choice but to simply follow the example of the Great Powers and withdraw from all trade with Aellyria. The Aellyrian slave trade has already been a sensitive topic within Aradira due to the delicate situation at hand, but it all came to a head after Atmora threatened to cut trade and other agreements with Aradira unless they did so to Aellyria, and Aradira conceded. The official order has already been issued and all ports have been closed.

The Imperial navy has been ordered to escort all docked Aellyrian ships out of port and back out to international waters, after of course being completely bought out by the local trade companies and other markets to allow for brief continued sales after the departing of Aellyrian traders. All continued Aellyrian ventures are being turned away by the Imperial Navy at sea. All Aellyrian military bases within Aradira, only being a small number, have been shut down by the Military Police and all Aellyrian soldiers have been shipped home, and the bases themselves have been transformed into Aradiran bases instead. Aradira wishes not to anger the international community.

Project Orion Begins!

National Space Science and Discovery Foundation HQ, Valyra

The Regional government on Rodina has begun enacting Project Orion, a special project designed to construct a ship able to access the L Gate in L94 and get through it. Several scientists have been sent on the ANS Herald to investigate the L Gate, and attempt to find any and all possible information regarding activation and entrance. The National Space Science and Discovery Foundation (NSSDF) has sent significant amounts of funding to the Naval Sciences Department for the project, and several science ships have been borrowed from the Foundation to perform the several hundred survey mini-projects at the L Gate. The data already collected has been sent to the Foundation and funding has begun for the construction of the first Ulysses-Class warship, the first ship built to withstand a gate entry.

Several studies were conducted on the remains of Raxadarian shipwrecks found still floating around the gate in order to ascertain just how exactly the ships could pass through the gate. The gate was determined to be a form of enhanced Warp system, meaning it is very possible ships could be crushed in warp. The ships were discovered to have a special coating of a fluid black metal compound named H1-713. H1-713 seemed to show properties of refilling holes blasted into it, thinning out to complete the armor coat. It is also showing properties of being able to endure extreme stress, allowing ships to pass through dense or highly pressurized areas, such as an L Gate. After this discovery, the Foundation began the construction of the ANS Orion, the first Ulysses-Class.

The Ulysses-Class is planned to be built with a platinum hull, coated with H1-713 and reinforced with titanium bars. The ship’s hull will be rounded and smoothed to allow for more aerodynamic movement in case of planetary exploration, and the ship’s bridge will be heavily fortified and put in the center of the ship. The ship will be powered by an Atomic reactor coupled with electric enhancers, and the main engine will be an Ion engine, with several installed Plasma additions. The ship’s FTL drive will be powered by Pyraxite instead of oil or nuclear fission, and the ship will have several RCS units built to allow quicker maneuvering in case of a bad encounter. The ship will be armed with sixteen (eight per side) Kinetic artillery installments and two Particle lances, along with 2,000 point defense and flak artillery defense systems, and several hangers will be installed to carry science ships and defensive fighters in case of a combat encounter or the discovery of an anomaly. The ship will be equipped with several deflector units and a reinforced shield generated with a nuclear shield generator. The Orion will be a fortified science ship in essence, sent out alone to discover what’s out there.

Aellyrians shake their head at the world

It is with sad tidings that we at the Aellyrian Globe inform you that the staunch friend and ally of Aellyria has been seduced and corrupted by the international community, in an attempt to strong arm us into giving up a part of our way of life. We at the Globe can only hope that this situation will soon be resolved, some factions within the first estate have actually had the audacity to suggest we in Aellyria allow a large portion of our slaves to join the ranks of the common serfs. While many in the international community have claimed that serfdom is no better than slavery, we in Aellyria acknowledge the term as any commoner who rents and works property from the aristocrat of that land.

In other news both Father Varian De Luc, a catholic priest not native to Aellyria and High Priestess Jalia Gwenthynon have joined the advisory council of our great Holy Emperor Andreas Aeylgarn. As representatives of both the catholic and native faiths of Aellyria they will advise him in the more religious aspects of ruling.

A Pause in the Markets

In an attempt to settle with the international communities the Emperor himself has called for a halt in any new purchases in the slave markets, to the upset of a great many people. This will plunge the profits of many slaving corporations into a downward spiral. However the Emperor has offered anyone who has lost profits to the halt in the market to instead direct the money they would have used to purchase slaves to instead direct it to the Aeylgarn Industrial Conglomerate to buy the manual labor humanoid drones or M.L.H.D which will be made cheaper to purchase than the average slave for a limited time.

Many people have taken this as giving into the aggressors in the international community, however the First Estate assures the people of Aellyria that this is a decision that will be economically beneficial to the nation. In other news the Emperor and his house will be calling a forum of the great houses in order to discuss the state of the Holy Empire.

Project Orion Update

Scientists today began the first ever attempt to open the L Gate in L94, and it ended in disaster.
After several studies had been conducted and the results recorded, scientists had deducted that the gate was an FTL functioning gate, and a Warp-based one at that. The system seemed to respond to an FTL que before so the scientists decided to attempt to open the gate by using the first ever unmanned FTL jump, using a reverse-engineered Raxadarian Warp drive mounted on a drone. The ship was quickly designed and shipped to the gate as quickly as possible, and the test began without much of an issue. The signal was triggered and the lane began to open for the jump, but then a huge malfunction occurred and the lane collapsed in on itself, forming a wormhole in front of the gate, destroying the drone and warping the gate elsewhere. Luckily for the scientists the destination was the Arikan system nearby, meaning that it was still in Aradiran space.

Study continues but this will be a moderate setback.

The wedding of Crown Prince Claude and Princess Elisabeth d'Aurelians took place today at St Theodora's Chapel, Iyosa. The chapel had previously been the venue for the weddings of Prince Claude's uncle, Prince Constantine to Princess Cecilia of Garianlles. The wedding invitations specified a dress code for men of "Dress Uniform, Morning Coat or Lounge Suit"; for women, "Day Dress and Hat".

The wedding dress of Princess Elisabeth was designed by the British designer Kelianne C.W. under the aegis of the fashion house Hanosilious. It was made of "double-bonded silk cady cushioned by an underskirt in triple silk organza" and had a boat neckline, long sleeves and sweeping train.The silk veil was 16 feet (4.9 m) long and was embroidered with ayana and oyster plants, representing the Celestisal Empire and the nation of the Aurannites. It was secured by a diamond bandeau tiara, made in 2002 for Queen Kristiane and lent to Elisabeth by Queen Ester. The centre brooch had been a wedding gift from the County of Lydania for Queen Emmanuella and King Claude II in 1958. The tiara is a platinum band, made up of eleven sections, a detachable centre brooch with interlaced opals and diamonds. The shoes were also from Hanosilious, and had a pointed couture design.

Other ensembles worn by the bride included white gold and diamond earrings and bracelet made by C.W. Princess Elisabeth's hair was rolled up with "face-framing fringe tucked behind her ears",and was done by Sergei Novatasky. Oreale make-up artist Benni Martin did Elisabeth's makeup for the occasion. The look was described as "a soft brown eyeshadow" with minimal makeup on the face. Her nails were painted in a "neutral pink-y beige" for the ceremony. The bride's bouquet, designed by Princess Marie-Claire, contained "forget-me-nots, scented sweet peas, lily of the valley, astilbe, jasmine and astrantia, and sprigs of myrtle". The flowers were chosen by the groom who handpicked forget-me-nots in honour of his late grandmother Princess Asta.

For the customary bridal themes of "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue", Elisabeth had her dress and veil (the "new"), the Queen's tiara (the "borrowed"), sprigs of myrtle taken from "a plant grown from the myrtle used in the Queen's wedding bouquet" and a piece of fabric from Princess Asta's wedding dress (the "old"), and finally a piece of fabric from the dress she wore on their first date stitched in the veil (the "blue"). The young bridesmaids also wore high-waisted silk dresses designed by Kelianne C.W. which had puff sleeves.

Prince Clude had selected his older half-brother, Count Oskar Linderoth son of Lars Linderoth, as his best man. Prince Claude and his half-brother Count Oskar Linderoth wore the frock coat uniform of the Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons in which both were commissioned, and Prince Claude served for 8 years. Prince Claude wore the rank of major with the star of the Royal Augustinian Order, of which he is a Knight Commander, along with the ribbons of the Royal Augustinian Order, and Army Air Corps wings. Count Oskar, also with the rank of major, had SIVR cyphers on his shoulder straps and gold aiguillettes on his right shoulder (indicating his position as an aide-de-camp to the King of Catorana), and wore the star of the Order of Svante IV's Knights, the ribbons of the two jubilee medals, and his RCAF wings. The pageboys wore uniforms by resembled the uniform of the R.H.G and 1st Dragoons worn by the groom and best man. Each page boy had his initials on the shoulders in place of rank badges.

Princess Elisabeth d'Aurelians selected her cousin, Princess Adela de Sassonia as her maid of honor, though that the bridesmaids and page boys would all be children. A total of ten bridesmaids and page boys were chosen, with the bride and groom each selecting five: two of Elisabeth's godchildren, elven-year-old Princess Liselotte and her eight-year-old sister Princess Ingeborg, as well as Christopher, Alexis and Charlotte, the three children of her cousin the Count of Ballenstedt, were chosen by the bride, while Prince Claude's cousins, Prince Thaddäus of Koarry and Prince Claude (son of Prince Constantine), as well as his godchildren Nasia and Violeta Anastouli and Prince Sackarias of Catorana, were selected by the groom.

The Royal Palace announced Prince Jean, Duke of Aurelians would accompany Elisabeth down the aisle after some debate if her grandfather would attend, which he would but not escort her. The wedding service was conducted according to the liturgy for Holy Matrimony as set out in the Aurannite Orthodox Church.

From 8.00 am, the public started to arrive at the grounds of the royal palace. The main congregation and the guests all started to arrive at the chapel at 9.30 am, followed by members of the Royal Family. The King and the Queen were the last members of the Royal Family to depart for the ceremony, as is tradition, arriving at the chapel at 11.52 am. Shortly after, Princess Elisabeth arrived with the party of junior attendants. She proceeded down the aisle followed by the attendants, where her father the Duke of Aurelians met her to escort her through the quire of the chapel. He accompanied her to the altar, where Prince Claude was standing.

Prince Claude's maternal aunt, Queen Dowager Elisabeth of Naterasse, read a scripture lesson from The Song of Solomon in the Christian Bible. The Dean of Iyosa, Epameinondas Agnelis, conducted the service with the Patriarch of Iyosa, performing the marriage ceremony. The sermon was delivered by Patriarch.

The marriage vows were those published in Common Worship, and included the promise to "to love and to cherish" each other.This was sealed by the exchange of rings. The wedding rings were created by Dermeaut and Company, with Princess Elisabeth's ring being fashioned out of Deritain gold and the Crown Prince's ring made of platinum. After the signing of the registers, Claude and Elisabeth together with the guests sang the national anthem. The couple paused briefly to bow and curtsey to the King before walking down the aisle. They were followed in procession by other members of the bridal party, and their families. The couple shared a kiss on the steps outside the chapel.
