Is cannibalism legal in your nation? If so, why? If so, why not? If so, who is eaten and are they alive or dead when this happens?

As our national motto is "Eat The Rich," our cannibalism is limited to processed human meat derived from executed capitalists. Only the One Percent were killed to be eaten, along with anyone found to still have excess wealth these days.

Of course, though we can't "eat" each other in the literal sense because we run on Energon and cannot derive energy from metal or polymers, which is what our bodies are made of. However, we do reuse metal and polymers in a wide variety of ways, and it is completely legal to install used parts into yourself.

Also, thanks to our ubiquitous recycling plants and general practices, it could actually be said that almost all Decepticon metal has been "cannibalized" from others. However, we simply see the meltdown of old bodies, and subsequent recycling of the materials, as standard operation and an intelligent process. A Decepticon body easily weighs 10 tons or more (sometimes significantly more, depending on the build), and that's simply too much in terms of materials to just throw it away.

This basic fact is made an even more significant factor for us because most of the time, a Decepticon body is rendered unused not due to the person's death, but because its operator transferred his mind to a new one to avoid the need for frequent repairs or because he wanted to upgrade. Hundreds of millions of our bodies are decommissioned, rather than killed, every year. We simply MUST recycle to meet our needs.

Only taking and installing used parts (especially from the living) has any sort of "squick" factor to it, and even that is more of a practical matter than a spiritual one. Used parts often have dubious amounts of remaining usefulness, and this has quite mundane, but possibly serious, ramifications. As you might imagine, attempting to steal parts out of the living also invariably starts a massive live-fire battle, usually to the death, so only the most desperate will try that!

Cannibalism is a felony under federal law. The processing of human bodies for consumption is also a federal felony. Life in prison is the maximum penalty allowed for cannibalistic crimes. Often times the perpetrators will be committed to a mental hospital

It must be acknowledged that there were points in the struggle that cadres had to resort to eating the remains of their comrades to survive in the harsh realities of guerrilla warfare. Cannibalism, in and of itself, is not illegal in the Democratic Republic. However, murder is illegal, regardless of if the victim consented to being killed, and there exist several laws concerning the abuse or desecration of a corpse, so the consumption of a human body is considered to be de facto a criminal act.

Of course, this all concerns the consumption of a deceased human, the consumption of the flesh or other body parts of a human who is still alive is perfectly legal, although even this legal method of cannibalism is nearly unheard of in the Democratic Republic, with most instances of cannibalism being nothing more than performance artists attempting to cause shock and awe with the public eating of legally acquired human meat and not the consumption of human meat as part of one's typical diet.
