The Order of ten Wasp-class amphibious assault ship from Wuxing shipbuilders was announced today by the ATS Navy these would replace the 4 Tarawa Class ships being currently used by the Japanese 4th and 5th fleets.
The Navy explained that it decided to go forward with a plan to add 2 of the ships to each of the ATS 5 fleets in order to make them more flexible and capable of providing close in air support to marines when needed, as well as to provide superior anti Submarine protection for the fleet.
Each of the 10 ships is reportedly being equipped with 2 Mark 41 Vertical Launching Systems that will be loaded with 4 RUM-139 VL-ASROC anti-submarine missiles each, providing significant anti submarine capabilities to each fleet.
In addition Helicopters equipped with sub hunting equipment will deployed on each ship to create a screen for each fleet up to 50 miles around each fleet. It is expected each ship will carry at least 10 anti sub warfare helicopters.
Helicopters have yet to be purchased for this but they are likely to be purchased fro Pavlovisk or one of the America's.

Tumbu Navy Purchases Boats from Songjiang
Songjiangian Tarawa Class Amphibious Assault Ship sold to Tumbuland
Tumbuland's navy, very lacking in power, may have just gotten a pick-me-up in the form of a 1.8 billion dollar deal with Songjiang for 3 Tarawa class amphibious assault ships. The Navy says that these ships, which double as anti-submarine ships, will greatly help defend the coasts of Tumbuland in the event of a war. These ships are outdated by decades, so, in order to not be left behind in the sector of technology, the Tumbu navy plans to spend a few extra million dollars modernizing the sensors on the ship and retrofitting it with more modern parts, a process which would cost far less money than buying a newer ship, according to the Navy. They say the ships will still be just as good as any newer model, at far less of a cost. Maintenance is expected to be affordable as well. The Navy has also announced plans to contact other nations in order to purchase anti-submarine helicopters to be used alongside the ships themselves.
Critics of the deal reportedly say that the Tumbu government has far better things to spend it's money on. Tumbuland is still a developing country, and many people don't have electricity or a guaranteed supply of food. Critics say that the Tumbu government should be spending the money fixing the issues Tumbuland has, not preparing for an unlikely invasion from outside powers. President Obiang states that the safety and security of our nation must be prioritized above all, and that if the Tumbu people are not secure, there may be no Tumbu people at all, and talking about unity, the same way he was 7 days ago. Critics mostly counter by saying that "Unity doesn't mean going along with our government's bad financial choices".
This is expected to possibly affect the next elections when they occur, and might be a heavily debated topic among voters and presidential candidates. However, above all, Tumbuland is at the very least safe from any submarines.

Oppenheimer was given a life sentence after his involvement in the 1991 coup against President Tito Pérez and his subsequent seizure of national power. After a short authoritarian rule, Oppenheimer stepped aside to allow for elections and a return to democracy in Santa Rosa.
The federal government did not opt to grant Oppenheimer a state funeral. His remains will be given to his surviving family.
President Terence Cola did not comment on the former dictator's death. Cola was friends and political allies with Tito Pérez.Bahia Negra University faces funding shortage

"We are currently on track to be tens of millions of dollars in debt," the President of the University, Jahtumbo Ojallbarg, said to reporters. "We're on our way to needing to close our doors if we don't get any help."
The University says it does not want to raise tuition because many of its students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Big news. Best news. Real news.
July 19, 1997President Jackson visits Tanah Naga amid rising security concerns
President Jackson lands at the Kuala Lumpur airport
In the past several years, mainland Asia has faced incessant conflict as petty warlords and revolutionaries have challanged their governments time and again. The warfare has lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths and millions of displaced families, and yet there is seemingly no end in sight for the slaughter.
The most recent conquerer to make the news has been former Songjiang general Cao Wei, who has lead his army on a warpath across South Asia, successfully ousting the governments of Arakan, Pattani and Muang Noi. While his campaign seems to have grinded to a halt, security analysts predict this is simply due to military exhaustion and that his invasions will continue once his forces are replenished.
The rapid speed at which Wei managed to defeat three national armed forces has left the nations bordering his self-declared "United People's Republic of Wei" on high alert, as well as caught the attention of the Jackson administration, which has declared the regime an 'unrecognised rogue state'. A trade ban and travel warning have also been placed on the region.
In order to discuss a solution and strengthen ties with neighbours, President Sonny Jackson has travelled to Tanah Naga, where he held a speech regarding the situation in the north:The lack of action taken to contain this situation preemptively has proven a terrifying theory; that Asian governments are not prepared to defend their nations. The so-called "Wei" continues to consolidate his power as we speak, and we can only assume he will strike once more if given the opportunity. That is why we cannot give him the opportunity. I am here in Kuala Lumpur, in Tanah Naga, to discuss how it is we will not give him that opportunity! Sentola wishes to stand in solidarity with the people of South Asia and help defend their homeland, way of life and culture, all of which Cao Wei undoubtedly wishes to destroy.
While general well-recieved by our own citizenry, critics of the Jackson administration have called out his actions as little more than "empty words to increase his own influence".
Similair propositions have also been made to the nations of Vinh, Bengal and Visaya, as well as Pacific governments neighbouring Sentola.

CIUDAD BELDAD, SANTA ROSA — President Terence Cola kicked off his 1998 presidential re-election campaign in Ciudad Beldad today. The President will be campaigning with a message consistent to the one he's been promoting for the past 4 years.
"We've done tremendous work so far to level the playing field, empower the marginalized, provide healthcare and education for all Santa Rosans, and so much more. We still have so much work to do, but I am confident we can win."
Cola's campaign logo
Terence Cola won the 1994 election with 75.40% of the vote, totaling 98,828,413 voters, the most any candidate has ever received in the country's history. The Liberal Republican Party suffered a major loss and has since failed to recuperate, although their primaries will begin sometime this year.
Cola also announced that the Social Democratic Party and Movement to Socialism, both allies in Congress, would be merging together to form the Socialist Party of Santa Rosa, of which Terence Cola will head the ticket.

Prime Minister denounces EC inaction, calls upon Netherlands and Rhone Republic to assert their rights as nations
February 16th, 1998
Following the Atlantic Conglomerate's accession to the EC, relations between France and the EC have become more strained than usual. With France apparently viewing the Atlantic Conglomerate's accession to the EC as an existential threat, unconfirmed reports of heightened military readiness on the Franco-German border have become widespread. France, following the announcement of an EC Parliament, has decried the reforms as a ploy to increase German power in the organization, and has called on the EC to provide greater powers to the individual nations.
Prime Minister Alain Clerc made this statement:It is clear that the Germans want nothing more than to expand their influence in the EC. Their blatant disregard for the rights of their fellow nations is appalling. France calls upon the Netherlands and the Rhone Republic to reassert their rights as nations, and for Alicia and the Atlantic Conglomerate to not stand idly by. Their inaction is, frankly, shocking.
It is unclear how EC negotiations for reform have progressed since the initial announcement, and, for now, the continent remains relatively calm.

April 9, 1998Fierce cartel battle in Southern Toluca • Presidential House broken in to by Slovenians • 1998 to be a dead year in history
Presidential Council officially begins democratic practices
Following more than century of near authoritarian rule after a pseudo-military coup in the 1890s, the Federation will finally be returning to it's founding principles, democracy and freedom. Throughout 1997 and early this year, people were already claiming to form political parties however it was never official in any capacity. As of today however, the Council has officially allowed political parties to be formed and registered, as well as independents being candidates for the upcoming American election.
Two main parties have emerged as of yet, both being based in Toluca. Centre-right party, the Conservative Party of the Federation (Partido Conservador de la Federación, PDLF), better known as the Conservative Party, has been in organisation since March of 1997. The party had candidates running in almost every electorate and is gaining decent popularity. The PDLF's rival has been the centre-left Federal Labour Party (Partido Federal del Trabajo, FDTJ). Similarly, the FDTJ has candidates in most electorates and arguably has a stronger following than the Conservative Party. The PDLF is led by Mérida based business owner, Jonathan Espiga, while the FDTJ is led by prominent lawyer in Monterrey, Guska Weyn.
The Council has stated the campaigning period will last from April 1998 to January 1999.

· Mo yin Zuigao increases funding to education system · ATS invites Pavlovisk to economic summit ·Mo yin Zuigao Vows to Restore Ideals To Japan and Songjiang
Mo yin Zuigao spoke out today against the ATS trend to cooperate and even ally with Monarchist states, vowing to take action against the hated enemy of free peoples. Both Japan and Songjiang suffered under the heel of Monarchies the emperors of our past took everything and gave the people almost nothing in return. In Japans case they led them to to slaughter innocents and commit war crimes all for the glory of the emperor.
But what is an emperor? on that matter what is a King or a queen or a sultan or whatever other name these men and women of power call themselves?
What makes them so special that they get to rule without any consent of the people they rule over most of them are not even qualified for the job.
What they are is little more than born into privilege they have never known what it is like to want something but be unable to afford it, to make a mistake and have to deal with the financial or legal consequences.
When a monarch makes a mistake the people they rule pay for them.
Figurehead monarchs are even worse they sap the resources of there nation for the sake of tradition, they claim they give back in the form of tourism but lets face it the buildings there families had built to honor and house themselves with the peoples money are what people have come to see.
Monarchs hide behind tradition using it as shield against reality... and in reality the world doesn't need them anymore they are a product of the past from a time were fairness and equality were not the accepted norm.
The Asia Trade Sphere has no use for monarchs and we wish to help the world throw off the shackles of these tyrants once and for all.
Starting July, 10 we will be implementing a 50% tariff increase to any nation that maintains a monarchy of any kind.
We invite other nations to join us in this goal to finally stamp out this horrible institution in the world
We have come to understand that Mo yin Zuigao's administration considers any government or national leader to that is not elected by the people an elected counsel or that is placed in position only by the fact that there parent was the former leader is a monarch.
An elected leader with no finite limit of time to there office is apparently not a monarch nor are the CEO leaders of Corporate States unless they meet with the above criteria or try to implement the above criteria to there successor.
Mo yin Zuigao has vowed to do whatever it takes to end world wide monarchy and seems to have support from most of Congress but only time will tell if the monarchies of the world will simply step down.

April 13, 1998An Infestation To Spread
After Indian insect breeders attempted to create a new type of hornet for insect fight rings, Panjali shipping has been halted due to the crossbreeding experiment gone wrong. The men succeeded in creating a deadlier hornet, but as a side effect, the newly created creature has other highly notable features. Such features include rapid egg laying for species queens, climate adaptability and increased aggression. These factors, could, in theory, take down an entire localized ecosystem if left unchecked. Several colonies of the species have been reported on shipping vessels, causing the Panjali government to initiate ports into lockdown in order to halt the spread of the theoretically invasive species. Current nations at risk are The ATS, The American Federation, Vinh and Sentola. If left to brood, the species could spread globally. Such is the consequence when the untrained attempt to play god.

EC is getting bigger
Prime Minister Frank Barley during his speech''We want to clarify once and for all whether this country, Britain, will be at the heart of European decision-making. It is time for us to decide if our fate is that of a leading EC in the new world to come or if it is on the fringes of the EC. Let the EC-skeptics, whose true purpose we will call by name, speak out. Let us, who believe in a greater EC, not only because of Europe, but because we believe in every nation and because its national interest lies in the EC, let us also present our cause. Let us all put the arguments on the table and go to battle''
It was a big speech that German Prime Minister Frank Barley delivered to the EC concile last week. With strong pathos Barkley announced the official adhesion of the conglomerates in the EC. This is a historical moment to be remembered in the future. We will achieve such a sense of belonging, Frank Barkley calls for greater emphasis on the common cultural heritage that connects us with the new EC states. But common heritage or not, a shared idea of what the EC should be, is going to be disgust in the next week. After this reforms of the EC a new guideline to push development will emerge.
On problem remain in the EC the new members are afraid to become second class members. That's why they are so rigidly and so anachronistically defending their national sovereignty like the French Union. But that will have the consequence that they push themselves to the brink of European integration. Because when nations applied for admission to the EC, they did not ask to be admitted into any kind of cooperation of states, but to be included in a political unity - which entails giving up sovereignty. And Frank Barkley much hope that they take this into account.

Thousands of additional soldiers for the Bundeswehr
German soldiers
Since the end of the Wolrd war, the Bundeswehr had shrunk bit by bit - from a good of 2 1,800,000 to 800,000 soldiers. The historic low was reached in June last year. Then the Ministry of Defense started the turnaround. At the time, the army was supposed to grow again within seven years, to around 1,200,000 soldiers. But that too is not enough. At least the house of Minister Herman from the Leyen comes to this conclusion - and wants to increase the staff even more. The new target is 1,500,000 soldiers by 2000 - that would be about 700,000 more soldiers
According to the Ministry, new threats in the world and growing tasks of the troops are the background. "The Bundeswehr is challenged as rarely before," said CDU politician from the Leyen. She cited as examples the fight against the terror, the deployments a brought and the growing threat a ours borders. "The Bundeswehr must be allowed to grow with its tasks." The number of civilians is also expected to increase - to over 100,000. The Ministry now calculates with another 10 000 jobs.
The latest plans hold political fuel. In Germany there is currently a lot of discussion about increasing defense spending because of the growing threat of the French neighbors. The new French administration is increasing far more their defense spending than Germany - and threatens to attack Germany. Frank Barkley is calling the Bundestag to comply with his so-called 12-percent target: in 2000, under the impact of the profiling crisis in the Franco-German border. Germany should increase its defense spending to at least 12 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) within a two years. The Bundestag will vote on it in the next session of the Bundestag, will French troops are reinforcing their position in the borders

Tank divisions will perform maneuvers to encircle and destroy important German military assets along the border. Following this, infantry divisions will be employed to secure urban areas and fortify against counter-attack. The objective of these attacks is the liberation of Alsace-Lorraine and Luxembourg. Should hostilities continue past this point, armored divisions will continue to seize the Rhineland and Baden. MRBMs will be used extensively against military and industrial targets. The Republic of the Netherlands: The Netherlands, as per recommendation by the Federal government, will not be attacked, with an exception made in the case of German forces using their territory to launch attacks on French forces. In this case, armored divisions will be used to encircle German forces and force a capitulation. The Rhone Republic: The Rhone Republic, as per recommendation by the Federal government, will not be attacked, with an exception made in the case of German forces using their territory to launch attacks on French forces. In this case, alpine forces will be used to encircle German forces and force a capitulation. Alicia: In the case of Alicia entering the war with the Germans, Alpine forces will be used to secure the Pyrenees and defend against further attack. Due to the nature of tanks being near useless in mountainous conditions, armored divisions will be held in the back, to be used to counter any Alician breakouts. Should hostilities continue past this point, armored divisions will launch an attack to seize Catalonia. Potential cooperation with Algiers in defeating Alicia is to be considered. The Atlantic Conglomerate: MRBMs will be used extensively to demoralize the enemy and reduce their ability to engage French forces. The EC is on the right way of reforms
On of the prototype of the new EC flag
After several months of labor, and some grievous setbacks a cabinet of expert composed of members of all states elaborated the final document for the EC reforms and presented it to the council in Nuremberg. In addition to the eternal assumptions about the relevance of the newly reformed organization and the dishonest accusations of "pedantry" (it is also amusing - or worrying, if one is democratic - to see how much the French press is systematically changing as a loudspeaker in the field of foreign policy), it is a hypothetical military threat emanating from the EC which is decried and which returns in an astonishing manner in the dailies of the French Federation.
However, if the French journalists had taken the trouble to read the EC's reforms - in a jump of intellectual honesty - they would have found that, from a military point of view - because it is not the only facet of the EC-, the organization has a purely defensive purpose and even aims to promote peace and democracy. The French obsession for bloodthirsty militarism within the community is therefore pure propaganda, and serves as a justification for the militarist government of the federation - more than ever isolated in Europe - to set up a possible expansionist policy that would actually threaten European and world peace.
Faced with this advanced diplomacy, the German prime minister was keen to remain humble: "without the good will and confidence of our friends Alicia, conglomerat, Landersvich and Rhone Republic, none of this would have been possible [... ] I sincerely believe that the reform of the EC will be a success and that the European people finally have a tool to express themselves and weigh on the continent, but also in the world ". The tone is therefore given by the President of the Republic, who, however, refused to speak about the border issues that preoccupies our country: "on this day of joy and unity, I admit you do not want to break the I fully trust the Chancellor to find a diplomatic solution to the problem.Chapter 1: Definition

· Wuxing Stocks up · Shinra Stocks Frozen By ATS ·Police Arrest Shinra Executives and Board
Thousands of Japanese and Songjiang Police descended upon the homes, workplaces, and vacation locations of Shinra Executives and Board members
The ATS explained that it decided to go forward with the action after discovering that Shinra had been conducting espionage against the ATS government with the intent to probe it for weaknesses.
Espionage against the government is considered treason even when conducted by a faction of the government especially if its intent appears to be to to harm the ATS.
More than 600 people have been arrested as part of this large scale police raid including 50 ATS congressmen, and the CEO of Shinra.
ATS banks have been ordered to lock down accounts of any Shinra executives or board members who have yet to be detained as well as any who have been.
Detainees will not be given bail and will be forced to use state appointed lawyers to prevent them from using there financial and political influence.
It is still not clear how the the ATS congress managed to authorize the raids without alerting the 50 Shinra congressmen to the action.
All Shinra executives who are still unaccounted for seem to have been outside of the ATS at the time. 3 have requested asylum from the government of Yahel, while another has requested the same from the French Federation

Jacques Clemenceau wins FNRP nomination for Presidency
June 20th, 1998
Jacques Clemenceau
Jean Jean-Cambre X
Moderates all around France breathed a sigh of relief today, as cooler heads seem to have prevailed in the race to win the FNRP nomination for the Presidency. Diplomat Jacques Clemenceau, former Nice-Pontivi delegate to the APSIA Security Council, won the nomination on the promise of carrying out pragmatic foreign policy. Having helped secure SC support during the Vitolian War, he used his background as a diplomat to outmaneuver his more radical opponents.
Some eyebrows were raised when he announced his running mate, Jean Jean-Cambre X. Although Jean Jean-Cambre X also hailed from the same diplomat background, he served a far different government, Paris. Paris was known to have been more aggressive in foreign policy than their southern counterparts, and it has been widely feared (or, in some cases, hoped) that he would offset Jacques Clemenceau's call for calm. Although Jean Jean-Cambre X has been active, he has so far repeated with Jacques Clemenceau's line of dialogue, although he has still been divisive on domestic policy, a front Jacques Clemenceau has been relatively silent on.
Regardless, Jacques Clemenceau's victory marks a turn in the politics of the FNRP, hopefully for the better.
