Welcome everyone, to my first RP as OP, A Volatile's Queen Garden Party.
As said in the invitation card, this is a pretty standard garden party and soirée, where things such as diplomacy, business, but also friendship (and maybe love?) happen.
However, the main point on which it differs from any other similar event, is because it happens in a land populated by zombies!
Or rather, people who were infected in the past with a virus that rendered them completely feral, but after some time, who regained their mental faculties and sanity, despite looking different nowadays.

In 2014, the city-state of Harran, nestled on the southern part of Turkey, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, is hit by the outbreak of a virus similar to rabies, who transforms people into mindless and feral shadows of their former selves.
Despite the best efforts of the Harran Defense Forces to quarantine the outbreak to the Old Town area of Harran, it fails, and people start to get infected in other parts of the city-state territory as well.
With the help of the Armed Forces and the Imperial Guard of the American Federal Empire of the Scarlet Eagle, the Harran Defense Forces manage to erect a wall around the city, and another one on the border with Turkey, isolating the entire territory from the rest of the world.
In the meantime, the Empire also helped by airdropping regularly supplies and Antizin, a antiviral drug which slows the infection process, to survivors trapped in the Quarantine Zones.
A few weeks into the outbreak, a Special Forces (or Green Beret) soldier of the Empire, Staff Sergeant Kyle Crane, is dropped undercover into Harran to investigate the origins of the virus. However, he is bitten upon arrival, and will have to collaborate with other survivors to survive.
Anyway, after a few months, where many things happen, the soldiers guarding the perimeter of the Quarantine Zones start to notice that the infected seem to regain a human like behavior. And it does not take long for Jasmine Morenai, the wife of a former high-ranking officer of the HDF, who was turned into a Sentient Volatile, to gather them under her banner, and seize power, appointing various people who she met on the way (including Crane who had been rendered mindless in the meantime) as Ministers for the new Queendom of Global Harran.

More will be explained ICly in conversations.

Now, a small note on the Harran Viral. There are two main type of former infected, the standard one, who looks like a normal human, with the main differences being a paler skin, bloodshot eyes, and some scars who are reminders of necrosis that happened when they were in their mindless state.
The other main type, however, is the Volatile, which is easily recognizable by its grey skin, bald head, and split lower jaw, which gives it a mandibula-like appearance. A small subtype exists, the blue Volatile, which has a blueish skin.
Nowadays, only a few are left (around 3000), mot of them serving in the Royal Harran Armed Forces.
Note: They do NOT have protuding ribs anymore, as well as no pustules anymore.

The RP is supposed to start next week, on September 28th.

Of course, the infamous but necesary...

• 1: Like everywhere else on NS, no Godmodding, Metagaming, Powergaming, etc etc. If you feel like someone is breaking those rules, please bring it to attention here.
  
• 2: IC on the IC thread, OOC on the OOC-thread. Also, please keep it civil in the OOC. IC is another matter.
  
• 3: All NPCs from Global Harran will be controlled by me.
  Also, I will be controlling the characters from the Scarlet Eagle from this account as well since it is one of my other nations.
  
• 4: No murders. If violence there must be, both players involved must be sure to agree to it before in this thread.
  Be aware though, that the Volatile Guards on duty will be quick to dissolve it. And trust me, you don't want to take a Volatile head-on in combat. Many people who tried are not here anymore. Clear?
• 5:Permitted characters: Preferably heads of state, but other politicians, industrialists, artists, socialites and celebrities are welcome. Don't be shy to send more than one character.
• 6: Security: You are allowed, if you wish, to bring one bodyguard with you. Whether he will be in uniform or tuxedo depends on you. Just be sure to fill a RSVP for him/her as well. Don't worry though, the Rapace Guards are more than enough to ensure your security.
• 7: Weapons: You can bring a ceremonial weapon, such as a sabre, sword, dagger and such, and a concealed pistol. If you have a bodyguard, he/she can bring the same thing. No need for heavier firepower, this is not a war zone.
• 8: Humans and Humanoids only, within reason.
• 9: No magic at all.
• 10: RP Samples: No need for that, this can be the perfect occasion to hone your skills
• 11: If you use want to use characters from puppet nations, feel free to do so. However, please use said nation to post a RSVP, but ICly, you can use only one account for everyone of your characters. Just mention from which nation it is.
