As many still morn the recent death of General Devicks, and many feared for national security, a Marine Corps Special Forces team moved swiftly on a heavily armed Bannerless Brotherhood location overseas. While exact details on where and when this strike took place remain classified, the P.O.D.M.C. has indicated proudly that only one Marine was injured when the compound was taken. Apparently, despite this information only now being released to the public, this military response occurred within only a few short hours of the death of the Commander In Chief. What's more is that the P.O.D.I. reports that were released indicated that the target was a "rogue element" of the Bannerless Brotherhood, leading many to question whether or not the location information was perhaps provided by the terror organization itself, though P.O.D. Intelligence has reaffirmed that the location was found by the "impressive combined work of intelligence gathering teams around the world and annalists at the P.O.D.I. headquarters.

General Ads, the Interim Commander In Chief, has been asked and did confirm that there were no ties between P.O.D.I. and the terror organization, but did admit that he too was initially wary of the wording of the report himself, stating that "Intelligence may understand that the group was a rogue one, but it does lead to some confusion in silently suggesting that the Bannerless Brotherhood would commit similar acts whether as part of the group or as rogue elements."

General Ads Offers to Deploy Peace Keepers to Baggnagia

In a shocking yet short press brief earlier this morning, the Commander In Chief announced that he will be offering to deploy a contingent of P.O.D. Army soldiers to maintain the Baggnagian DMZ as a neutral party, giving both nations an ability to relocate troops away from the border zone in knowing that either side would first need to push through P.O.D.A. lines, effectively declaring war on the otherwise neutral nation before attacking the other. Stating that further establishing the DMZ as a P.O.D.A. controlled no fly zone would also serve to prevent future possibly negative and politically charged air conflicts and near misses.

In making this offer, however, General Ads indicated that both sides must agree to a P.O.D. Army enforced DMZ and must be willing to remove artillery elements from range of the DMZ. Both nations would also be willing to comply with the neutrally enforced no fly zone that would actively mitigate military aircraft. General Jacobs did later clarify that such civilian aircraft with submitted flight patterns would be able to expect a safe flight through the military no fly zone, and that they would be in no danger of P.O.D. anti aircraft or security drones.

Entire Jan-Totûánón Caravan Missing After Reporting They Were "Almost To" Salís

The Federal Mounted Police have officially started their search for the Jan-Totûánón caravan from the Tetéralímr tribe, and are requesting anyone that is willing and able to join in on the search. The caravan's last known location was at the Odéril-Sendér Confluence when they radioed to the Salís Parking Authority two weeks ago to reserve a site to set their wagon camp in. The caravan is the most recent in a string of disappearances of groups of people at the confluence, starting two-and-a-half years ago with the disappearance of a small family of immigrants from the Rhomaion Empire. We sent our reporter, Kai Sturateak to interview the Federal Missing Citizen Company captain of information watch, Dékalado Padar, with mixed results at the end of it.

Kai Sturateak: Good evening. As you may know, many people are curious and worried about the disappearances at the confluence, I trust the FCR has some ideas of what may be going on, yes?

Dékalado Padar: Good day. Yes, we at the [FMCC] have been working on have been developing some potential reasons as to why these disappearances have been occurring.

KS: Please, enlighten us.

DP: The original theory we had were that the groups that went missing were families that just wanted to disappear, for financial or personal reasons. After we investigated further, all those that went missing did not seem to have anything going amiss in their lives. Our investigators have been bouncing around four possibilities that we shall look into and consider the end results of such a possibility. The first, and in my opinion, most plausible, option is that people are falling in the river, and then they and their would-be rescuers are swept far downstream. Secondly, there is a small, but still present possibility that there is a serial killer lurking near the confluence. Thirdly, we have deemed it fairly possible that there may be a religious cult near the confluence that is abducting these groups and brainwashing them into their order. Lastly, there is the chance that they were abducted, not by humans but by extraterrestrial beings.

National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên Makes An Unscheduled Visit To South Baggnagia

In a rare visit abroad, which has also been declared a more sudden and unscheduled one, National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên has arrived in South Baggnagia. The specific destination of his trip is the national capital of the country – Jugac. The National Defense Consultant to the President of Sunrisia has come to South Baggnagia to meet with members of the Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia. For National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên, it will be especially important to meet with Chairman Gustav Feldt of South Baggnagia, Minister of Defense Stanislaw Šturm of South Baggnagia, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mina Symank of South Baggnagia.

National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên has not denied that this sudden visit is related to the recent break-out of tensions between North Baggnagia and South Baggnagia that has once again nearly led to war, just like so many other episodes of armed confrontation or provocation between the 2 Baggnagian states. The most recent escalation has since ended with a verbal cease-fire, which both countries are diplomatically negotiating to sign in the near future. Since the armed escalation was short-lived, Sunrisian forces in South Baggnagia did not end up entering the conflict, but the military stationed in the region was mobilized to join the fight when the escalatory phase was still in motion.

In a short statement, National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên answered a question regarding increased sanctions by Sunrisia against North Baggnagia and whether they would be lifted since the declaration of cease-fire. The National Defense Consultant revealed a tougher approach towards the North Baggnagian regime this time around, whereas last time, Sunrisia hurried to lift the sanctions after the first round of inter-Baggnagian negotiations was agreed on:

“The last time that we had promoted sanctions against North Baggnagia from individual ones against the dictatorship to state ones against the actual national institutions of the country itself, we had lifted them soon after North Baggnagia agreed to speak with the South’s representatives and our own Emissary for Adversary Exchanges (EAE) Avér Inîmīcâ, since Sunrisia is part of the South Baggnagian party in this confrontation. That is when the first cease-fire with actual signatures was achieved by both Baggnagian states. We did not think it was possible, but the current leadership of the succeeding dictator Jan Tillich has been more aggressive and irrational. There is much more belligerency coming from North Baggnagia under Tillich’s rule in comparison to his predecessor. Until the second cease-fire is actual signed and proves to hold, there probably cannot be any talk of lifting the extended sanctions on North Baggnagia. However, we will also have to map out steps that we will take in order to help the North Baggnagian citizens avoid humanitarian problems that the sanctions could cause. Our goal is to pressure the regime, but we have also been forced to take a stance against the state institutions, like the evolving military industry, to undercut North Baggnagian capabilities to attack the South or even use military and police force against North Baggnagian citizens, in case they decide to actually protest against the regime. That is something we cannot and will not encourage or advocate, but North Baggnagians should still have that fundamental citizen right just like the citizens of free countries.”

National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên will also be visiting Sunrisian military personnel stationed in South Baggnagia. The National Defense Consultant will definitely visit General Emér Pârsīná and the personnel of Sunrisian Forces – South Baggnagia (SFSB) and the Joint Task Force (JTF). However, it is unlikely that the National Defense Consultant will be able to visit the service personnel of Sunrisian Army – Neodvisni (SAN), a sub-division of SFSB operating in the South Baggnagian exclave of Neodivni surrounded by North Baggnagia. Although South Baggnagia, North Baggnagia and Sunrisia have agreed that North Baggnagia would allow for a safe commercial passage towards Neodvisni to resupply or replace the outgoing service personnel with new one, as well as for the city of Neodvisni to have normal communication with mainland South Baggnagia, it is unclear whether these obligations remain because of North Baggnagia’s violation of existing agreements. Therefore, in order not to risk another confrontation, National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên will probably contact the personnel of SAN via a live feed.

North Baggnagia tests a ground-launched cruise missile in one of the northern provinces, His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich issues statements

NORTHERN PROVINCES, NORTH BAGGNAGIA – His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich observed a test by the North Baggnagian Holy Army of a ground-launched cruise missile. The test happened in the nation’s north. A ground-launched cruise missile can take on other forms but this was a classical version: a land-based missile launched to hit land-based targets at a great distance. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich explained that this test does not violate the cease-fire between North Baggnagia and the treasonous South. The Great Leader explained that the test had no relation to the tensions with the South. The chosen location for testing was one of the northern provinces of North Baggnagia. Tests aimed at sending a message to the South and to the Sunrisians are purposely held next to the border. This time it was purposely held in a different location.

His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich explained that the test was meant to show North Baggnagian military might in an unstable international situation and tensions in Nordismar. The Great Leader pointed at the crisis in the neighboring Eikangaard and tensions between Western and Eastern Ventismar that puts North Baggnagia into a crossfire-like position. The North Baggnagian Holy Army is demonstrating strength with its tests and improving defense capabilities. North Baggnagia is warning and deterring all aggressors. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich says that the test is not aimed at the South or the Sunrisians but both are among those that North Baggnagia wants to warn along with everyone else that could pose a threat.

After the test His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich made several announcements on the spot. The Great Leader said that He and the People of North Baggnagia are awaiting the arrival of Comrade President Sugmei from the Friendly Nation of The Bohin to North Baggnagia. The arrival is awaited to happen soon. On another note His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich has rejected the offer from the Dictatorship POD to send forces and station them between North Baggnagia and the South. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich made it clear that the South must take the same stance on any Dictatorship POD forces if the South wants to keep the dialogue with North Baggnagia going. The Great Leader said that there already is a foreign power preventing a Baggnagian eventual unification through its support to the South. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich pointed His Finger at the Sunrisians whose National Defense Consultant is in the South today. That Consultant announced that Sunrisian increased sanctions against the People of North Baggnagia will stay until North Baggnagia becomes more submissive to the imperialist pressure and Sunrisian liking. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich obviously said that it would never happen but that North Baggnagia is still ready to talk like it was before.

West Zilveren Berg Will Host First Sunrisian-Englean Talks

West Zilveren Berg will serve as the neutral ground and third party state for talks between the special envoys of Sunrisia and the Englean Kaiserreich. After much speculation and wonder in the West Zilveren media, Faas Van Hoebeek, Chief Secretary of the State of West Zilveren Berg, has confirmed it publicly. The hosting of the first personal visit between envoys of hostile Corentian powers will help reaffirm West Zilveren Berg’s status as a “non-bloc” country aiming for a more neutral status in international politics, according to Chief Secretary Faas Van Hoebeek. The “non-bloc” status is also written in the Basic Law of the State of West Zilveren Berg, an equivalent of a constitution. A “non-bloc” status is a foreign policy aim, despite a special relationship that West Zilveren Berg has with Sunrisia for all its’ help. Chief Secretary Faas Van Hoebeek said that West Zilveren Berg will secure itself from being a fresh prey for either Eastern Corentian or Western Corentian power blocs in their hunt. He did not mention any organizations by name, but obviously that was a reference to ACIS on one side and MDAA/SOWEFTA on another. Instead, West Zilveren Berg will be a neutral arena for talks in a deeply divided continent that always seems to balance on the brink of war, including nuclear war. For their talks, the special envoys will be provided with a special facility shielded from any radiation leftovers in the atmosphere, close to the border with the Englean Kaiserreich, but still deep enough in West Zilveren territory.

South Baggnagia and Sunrisia reach a deal on more armament support and military supplies from Sunrisia

JUGAC, SOUTH BAGGNAGIA – South Baggnagia has an honorable foreign guest visiting from allied Sunrisia: National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên. The guest is visiting South Baggnagia for the first time and has been talking to all top South Baggnagian officials. Chairman of the Presidium of Congress of National Sovereignty of South Baggnagia Gustav Feldt welcomed the Sunrisian official to South Baggnagia and presented him to the Congress of National Sovereignty before deputies. The visit is happening at a very good time after recent tensions with North Baggnagia had been steadily increasing. A show of South Baggnagian and Sunrisian alliance still being strong like never before is something that the North needs to see especially.

New Minister of Defense Stanislaw Šturm announced that he got a promise from National Defense Consultant Dépúlsên that Sunrisia would remain the top arms supplier of South Baggnagia. The nation would receive all weapons and tech it would need. All up-to-date armaments would continue a steady flow to South Baggnagia and with recent tensions that flow would be doubled. Defense Minister Stanislaw Šturm spoke out against protesting this militarization because an armed and equipped South Baggnagia will be too powerful for any enemy to risk moving against. This would only help deter enemies and lower a chance of conflict but also raise a chance of victory in case of the conflict. New armament contracts are all set to be signed with the Sunrisians. South Baggnagia will be purchasing Sunrisian-made cruise missiles and surface-to-air missiles. Ministry of Defense believes it is only appropriate because North Baggnagia is developing its own type of new non-nuclear missiles and has just tested a ground-launched cruise missile. The test was done in northernmost North Baggnagia and further away from the border. The North claimed the test did not violate cease-fire and was not aimed at the South but also contradicted itself by saying that South Baggnagia is among nations that this is a show of force to. South Baggnagia has taken the same approach and is engaged in military modernization like North Baggnagia but Chairman Gustav Feldt promises that South Baggnagia is still ready to speak with the North.

New Minister of Foreign Affairs Mina Symank also spoke with the Sunrisian National Defense Consultant. She told him that Sunrisia is a party in the Baggnagian conflict and that is why Sunrisia will also have to sign the second cease-fire with North and South like the original one. She invited Sunrisian diplomats to work together and said that the Sunrisians will need to be available for the day of the second peace talks.

LGD party member Jan Müller accused of ‘fake news’ after talking about POWs between the Daredi Confederation, self-declared Weniges Reich and even the Englean state

Legion of Germanic Daredland (LGD) party member Jan Müller has caused a real uproar in the United Confederal Assembly. The original scandal broke out in the lower house National Council where opposition politician Müller spoke. But the same scandal has later spread to the Council of States where Müller also spoke. Müller caused a real uproar among many Daredi MPs by claiming that there are POWs held by the Daredi Confederation and the self-declared Weniges Reich. He brought this claim up as a reason why by his opinion the Daredi government should directly negotiate with the Weniges secessionist militant authority instead of ignoring them as an Englean proxy. Müller went on to list instances when these POWs on both sides have been captured by his theory. According to him the Konföderaleswehr and the Weniges militia took prisoners of each other’s personnel during the original conflict when the Weniges Reich was formed and there were regular kidnappings and abductions on both sides since.

“The largest wave of prisoners was originally captured on both sides during the first conflict from which the Weniges Reich was born. The Weniges rebels and the Daredi Konföderaleswehr captured the largest amount of POWs at that first conflict. Afterwards there had been minor kidnappings and abductions by the Daredi Konföderaleswehr and Weniges rebels of each other’s troops across the demarcation line. I’m not legally allowed to call it a border so I’ll call it a demarcation line. The second largest wave but much smaller by comparison than the first one was after the…’Flaming Revolution’ as it’s called. As you remember an armed skirmish broke out on the Daredi–Weniges demarcation line immediately after. That was when POWs were captured on both sides again in larger quantities. Since then minor kidnappings and abductions were being done again and I don’t doubt it’s still happening but being officially covered up.” – Jan Müller, Legion of Germanic Daredland (LGD)

At this point some MPs at the National Council from other parties started standing up and leaving. At that point President of the National Council of the Daredi Confederation Andre Brandell responded to Müller.

“But Mr. Müller, you do understand that at this point you are discrediting the narrative that your party and the Germanic Union coalition and the Engleans have been supporting, right? What you’re saying right now no longer makes the Weniges militants sound like self-defending freedom fighters seeking justified independence of the Weniges Reich from Daredland. You’re now saying that the ‘rebels’ as you call them have been abducting our troops and might still be doing so. What’s going here?” – Andre Brandell, President of the National Council of the Daredi Confederation, National Movement of Progress (NMP)

Müller proceeded to respond.

“Mr. President, I see what you’re trying to do and it’s not going to work. The Weniges rebels and the Daredi Konföderaleswehr equally captured each other’s troops during conflict. Unfortunately it’s a normal practice at times of war. My point is that we should let go of our principals and negotiate directly with the Weniges leadership to exchange POWs.” – Jan Müller, Legion of Germanic Daredland (LGD)

At this point more MPs started to abandon the National Council while Müller was speaking. Müller went on to say that there are also POWs that the Daredi Confederation has to exchange with the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg. According to him Daredi citizens secretly participated in the war in the Englean state where Frasian Confederacy and Free States of Anhalt-Sachsen were trying to get independence from the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg. The Daredi Confederation to this day has not withdrawn recognition of those entities as independent even after the Engleans suppressed the independence of those territories by force.

“I know that most of you will agree with me that the Englean Kaiserreich…” (that is how Müller referred to the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg) “…has Daredi POWs. But probably most of you will agree with me about this over the wrong reasons. You will say that Daredi troops were captured after the [Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg] supposedly invaded Daredland during the first Weniges War of Independence and helped the rebels secede the Weniges Reich from Daredland. I’m not going into that unfounded version of events. The actual POWs to some extent are the Daredi volunteers or possibly even mercenaries that secretly went to fight in the Englean civil war that was happening in the territories occupied by the self-declared Frasian Confederacy and Free States of Anhalt-Sachsen. I am hopeful that our Daredland did not secretly send the Konföderaleswehr troops to fight there because that would’ve been an invasion and meddling in Englean internal affairs. I’ll stay by the belief those were volunteers or mercenaries.

Whoever those people were they still hold Daredi citizenship. It is our responsibility to bring them back and exchange them for various Engleans that Daredi special services have abducted for various reasons. If there were mercenaries among those Daredis they should be prosecuted here at home. I’d say all volunteers from Daredland that went to fight in that war could be called mercenaries. If you aren’t going to restore diplomatic relations with [Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg] then at least send Special Representative Niklas Böhler to start negotiating the exchange. ”– Jan Müller, Legion of Germanic Daredland (LGD)

The comments by LGD member Jan Müller caused much outrage. It wasn’t some much his continued pro-Weniges, pro-Englean and anti-Flaming Revolution rhetoric which has come to be expected from the LGD party and the GU coalition. Rather the outrage came from Müller’s POW claim where he provided no proof. Daredi Konföderaleswehr fired back at Müller by saying that they never abducted any Weniges militants during combat or in other instances and that Daredi troops were fortunately not captured either. If Daredi troops or citizens had been abducted it would have been brought to public knowledge. There was also no proof given that Daredi citizens went to fight as volunteers or mercenaries in the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg for the independence of the Frasian Confederacy and Free States of Anhalt-Sachsen. The Englean state media or Weniges secessionist media sources never spoke of any POWs either. So now it just looks like Müller’s individual fantasies but ones that can have consequences for warping reality and provoking conspiracy theories.

But just in case many Daredi news media companies and independent journalists have announced that they would investigate the conspiracy to make sure if the Daredi government or the Englean leadership are not hiding anything from each other’s populations. The Office of the Attorney General of the Daredi Confederation will also be opening an investigation on whether any Daredi citizens went missing or if any of them participated in the Frasian and the Anhalt-Sachsen wars in the Kaiserlich-Controlled State of Engleberg.

North Baggnagia looking to buy a missile defense system

SILCENDA, NORTH BAGGNAGIA – His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich was in a Committee Meeting today. It was attended by top military officials in North Baggnagia. The entire military leadership in the nation was there to hear the Great Leader. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich outlined the military strategy of North Baggnagia for the near future. The Committee Meeting had the future cease-fire with the South being discussed and also the positions of North Baggnagian forces in the border regions. The Great Leader again talked about something that His Excellency announced in the past. The Great Leader reminded that the Signing of an Executive Order by His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich where the Great Leader orders that North Baggnagia would be buying military tech to defend against hostile nuclear weapons.

His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich declared that North Baggnagia is looking to buy a missile defense system from a foreign supplier. The purpose is for the North Baggnagian Holy Army to have a system to use against nuclear strikes launched at North Baggnagia. The Great Leader reminded of that tumultuous moment in international history when the Sunrisians changed their nuclear doctrine to allow preemptive strikes. This allows North Baggnagia to become one of indefinite targets for such a Sunrisian preemptive nuclear strike. To be able to defend against this North Baggnagia needs weaponry to counter Sunrisian nuclear weapons. His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich declared that upon purchase of a missile defense system North Baggnagia would also duplicate that technology. It would allow North Baggnagia to build its own missile defense systems in the future. Upon having the technology and the knowledge North Baggnagia would not only be able to build a land-based missile defense system. The Great Leader said the next step would be to place the missile defense technology onto ships and even aircraft so that North Baggnagia could defend against nuclear strikes on all levels. These developments would happen in the future when His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich writes new Executive Orders to call for a building of North Baggnagian missile defense technology. The present Executive Order only calls for a purchase of the missile defense system as the first step towards those ambitious goals.

His Excellency Marshal Jan Tillich declared that North Baggnagia can afford to buy even several missile defense systems from different suppliers. In that way North Baggnagia would have not only have better security with more weapons but also a bigger variety of missile defense technology to replicate. Warning to North Baggnagia: Do Not Enter a Military Deal with the Bohin

Although the tensions between North and South Baggnagia have been alarming, the two nations have almost always come to peaceful solutions on their own before violence breaks out. At the very least, the violence is stopped before it grows into larger conflicts. For this reason, Parliament has often opted to not intervene with these nations.

Disturbingly however, the Bohin has expressed a desire to discuss several things with North Baggnagia, including military deals. Parliament has taken great issue with this, expressing supreme displeasure with the Bohin for attempting to strengthen itself militarily in any way. They have called this act a "shame" and "yet another failure of the Bohin to fed its own people." Parliament has reminded the Bohin that the terms of its treaty prevent it from attempting to grow its military.

Most importantly though, Parliament has warned that if North Baggnagia enters any form of military deal or alliance with the Bohin, the way Rezua interacts with them will change drastically. President Válîd Sâlúbĕr Meets With PID Director Fórî Apstérâ Behind Closed Doors

Today, President Válîd Sâlúbĕr has begun his first personal one-on-one meeting with Fórî Apstérâ, the Director of the Prime Intelligence Division (PID). The meeting is being held behind closed doors, with the secrecy being justified by the inclusion of classified information. Nevertheless, the administration of the President has been able to present a summary of what the meeting would touch on, with the inclusion of topics such as – the fight against international terrorism and regional drug cartels, deterrence and containment of rogue states, a hunt on foreign spies complimented by a “war” on espionage from overseas. The topic added to the discussions between the President and the PID Director at the last minute, was the North Baggnagian regime that was actively arming and militarizing itself. North Baggnagian dictator Marshal Jan Tillich recently declared a goal to purchase weaponry and military equipment from “foreign suppliers”, which according to the PID could include state actors and non-state black market suppliers selling arms to a rogue regime. PID intends to recommend that the Sâlúbĕr administration pay more attention to the situation and have Sunrisia watch North Baggnagian military transactions more closely, something that PID Director Fórî Apstérâ said he would tell President Válîd Sâlúbĕr in the meeting.

As the country’s leading intelligence agency, PID has been influential in Sunrisian domestic policy, while undoubtedly playing an active role in foreign policy, often as an ally of the military and the rest of the intelligence community, and sometimes as an ally even to Sunrisian diplomats. At certain periods in modern Sunrisian history, PID has sometimes played as a rebellious structure that could protest the government or help convince it to steer the country’s course in a certain direction. Constitutionally, this has been an overreach of its’ power by PID, but some have defended it as an “unconventional” player in the system of checks and balances, during certain times when the legislature or the courts had gone off course as well. PID’s exist from its’ jurisdiction at times and intervention into politics, influencing the Sunrisian government, has been an overreach, but it is widely agreed on that PID’s involvement has been justified by patriotic goals of the agents and not power-grabbing ones. Sometimes, even PID itself needed to undergo the lustration process and cleanse itself from the inside, sometimes even changing its’ entire core and structure, while replacing it with something new. Even PID itself and the rest of the Sunrisian intelligence community has had internal conflicts that mostly arose from decisive and revolutionary chapters in Sunrisian history, when the country has been undergoing transformations.

PID Director Fórî Apstérâ jokingly responded to conspiracy theories about a takeover of power in Sunrisia by intelligence agencies. The Director said that the current Sunrisian government and the present incarnation of the Sunrisian sovereign state – the Nationalist Republic, do not require the same, de jure unconstitutional overreach and an over-involvement of the Sunrisian intelligence community in the country’s politics, in order to steer it in a certain course.

Naval Engagement Off Eastern Coast Costs Communists Dearly

With the land war settling into a stalemate thanks to the heroic actions of the Republican Army, both the Republic of Eikangaard and the EUSR have turned to the waves to break the stalemate. The Republic deployed five frigates and two submarines near the frontline off the eastern seaboard to bombard Communist positions. However, around 3:15pm today, the battlefleet was intercepted by the Communist navy and engaged in an exchange of missiles. Despite the Communists managing to get off the first shots, the Republican Navy only suffered light damage. The only ship to be damaged, the frigate RES Kaavinin, managed to disengage from the battle and return to friendly waters while the remaining vessels counterattacked.

Reportedly, the Communist fleet consisted of three vessels which included one destroyer and two frigates, suffered heavy damage in the return salvo, losing one of their frigates to the counterattack. Additionally, the enemy destroyer was sunk by anti-ship missiles launched from Capslandian aircraft which joined the attack. While enemy aircraft attempted to cover the retreat of its fleet, they were beaten off by the Republican airforce and forced to return to hiding behind ground-based surface-to-air missile system, losing two fighters in the process. In one engagement, Navy spokespeople reported, the EUSR has lost one of its two destroyers and one-quarter of its surface fleet, despite forcing the Republican Navy to withdraw due to a lack of ammunition.

Considering the success of the operation, the Republican Navy has confirmed that future operations of this time are planned for the future. "We believe that further operations of this time will continue to erode the capabilities of Communist forces within Eikan waters." Said Rear Admiral Sven Jergens. "Either we sink more of their ships, ensuring our eventual naval superiority in the long term, or we strike at their land units and weaken their front line."

BREAKING: Royal Navy Opens Fire On New Vesvai’s Warships In Self-Defense

The Royal Vesvaian Navy has attacked the New Vesvai’s warships in-between the territorial waters of the Dominion of Vesvai and New Vesvai. Navy said that this was a counter-attack in retaliation to an earlier attack by New Vesvai’s navy on Royal Navy warships. New Vesvai’s ships rammed into several of the Royal Navy ships that were patrolling the Dominion of Vesvai territorial waters. New Vesvai’s ships started pushing the Royal Navy ships up north and at one point illegally crossed the maritime border. At this point New Vesvai was not just trespassing but invading. While New Vesvai continued pushing the Royal Navy ships up north while already in the Dominion’s waters the Royal Navy detected that New Vesvai’s were gearing up to open fire. The Royal Navy acted faster and opened fire first. The counter-attack was justified as self-defense and also fire against an invading foreign navy. Right now there’s no clear information from location. The military said that the situation has not been resolved but that updates would be given.

Recently international attention has been focused on tensions between North and South Baggnagia. It is almost an identical situation like between the Dominion of Vesvai and New Vesvai but in another part of the world. In both scenarios a single nation is divided into two opposing sovereign states that are locked in an unofficial state of war. Both Baggnagias nearly went to war last week but stood down at the last minute. Will both Vesvais have the same luck or will the situation escalate? Vesvai’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicholas Vicina already reacted to these breaking news and has so far been the only top government official to do so. He only had time for a brief statement in which he said that New Vesvai is the aggressor and thus should stand down.

DEVELOPING: 7 Injured In Cross-Border Firefight Between New Vesvai And The Dominion Of Vesvai

The first half of today has been dominated by an outbreak of violence on the land border that separates New Vesvai and the Dominion of Vesvai. Seven soldiers so far have been injured on both sides. Four have been wounded on New Vesvai’s side and three on the Dominion’s side. The skirmish is ongoing and escalating.

The border violence is a follow-up of a sudden breakout of violence between New Vesvai’s and the Dominion’s navies. The Dominion’s Royal Navy opened fire on the warships of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Navy after New Vesvai justifiably moved against several trespassing Royal Navy ships. The Revolutionary Navy rightfully saw Royal Navy ships as invading foreign ships illegally crossing over into New Vesvai’s waters. The Dominion’s ships were contacted, asked to leave and warned that they could be assaulted. But there was no reaction. The Revolutionary Navy ships moved towards the Royal Navy ships to force them to turn around and leave New Vesvai’s waters. The Royal Navy ships kept moving south deeper into New Vesvai’s waters. The Revolutionary Navy decided not to open fire but it needed to stop the Royal Navy ships and move them in the opposite direction. New Vesvai’s warships had no choice apart from firing so they decided to ram into the Dominion’s ships and physically push them out back into the Dominion’s waters. The Dominion’s Royal Navy responded by opening fire. Temporary Ministry of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army now sees that this was a provocation. The Dominion of Vesvai was looking for a reason to attack.

The naval violence grew into land border violence today. The Royal Vesvaian Security Forces opened fire on the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army. VRA say they were attacked suddenly but they can’t claim that they were completely caught off guard. VRA was in battle readiness after they heard that the Dominion’s navy attacked New Vesvai’s navy. VRA has reportedly informed the transitional Ministry of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army that the Royal Navy is sending a fleet towards New Vesvai and looks like it is actually ready to invade this time. A similar case appears to be for the RVSF who are not standing down. VRA says the Dominion’s army is mobilizing again. The border skirmish is not slowing down and the Dominion of Vesvai is increasing attacks.

New Vesvai’s transitional Parliament is torn. MPs agree that the professional troops should be handling this escalation and defending New Vesvai. But if the attacks continue and grown into an invasion then the transitional government may be forced to declare a state of emergency, marshal law or a public mobilization for war time. Acting Prime Minister Raio Foranel has condemned the Dominion of Vesvai for this attack. He is confident that this is not an incident between the armed forces but a move ordered by Vesvai’s government. Acting PM Foranel does not believe that sudden breakouts on two fronts at once could have happened by coincidence. His opinion is back by the fact that the Dominion’s media has supported the RVSF version of events where New Vesvai was presented as the aggressor. The continuing escalation of attacks also suggests that Vesvai’s government is not rushing to stops RVSF from advancing. In this case silence is approval.

A theory similar to that of Acting PM Raio Foranel is shared by Adi Letago, leader of the Silver Revolution and head of the National Renewal (NR) party now leading in general election polls. Letago is confident that the revolution in New Vesvai has been the last straw. The Dominion of Vesvai will now seek to occupy New Vesvai through war. Letago thinks that since intimidation through border tensions never worked and didn’t force New Vesvai to negotiate or concede the Dominion has given up. The Dominion of Vesvai will now just try to reunify the island under its flag through undeclared war, says Letago.

Volcanic Eruption in Kai Iwi

After weeks of tremors and minor effusive eruptions, Pu’u Kukui has erupted. The island of Kai Iwi is home to a single volcano, which has been near continuously spewing lava for the last hundred years. The island itself is the youngest populated island in the Ispanzan island chain at only 400,000 years and is one that continues to grow at a steady rate of half a meter per year.
In preparation for the eruption, the Ispanzan government has held an optional evacuation of the island’s 2,400 residents to nearby Leili’i. Last night, the optional evacuation became mandatory, as scientists warned of an imminent eruption.

At 6:34 this morning, Pu’u Kukui erupted in an explosive eruption, spewing clouds of ash into the sky, along with fire and magma. Unfortunately, the lava flow has descended down the eastern side of the island, directly into Hula’akalei, the largest community on the island. With the forced evacuation, the town was cleared of people, so there are no and will be no casualties, but the event has so far caused an estimated 12.1 million NSD in damages to the community.

The 2,400 residents of Kai iwi will be housed in the short term in facilities in Leili’i. If lava flow continues into the next week, they will be moved to the island of Ispanza.

Geologists and seismologists from the University of Eomeria in Rezua are being praised for their quick action, as their collaborative effort with the University of Eutepta lead to the early warnings of the volcanic eruption. "Without their help, we may not have known 18 hours in advance that an eruption was going to take place. Their work saved lives."

Army Begins Shelling Of New Vesvai’s Positions

The Royal Vesvaian Security Forces have received orders to strengthen counter-attacks against the aggressor. The army has started shelling of the positions of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army. VRA has been responsible for escalating the naval clash and fighting on land. Both battles have been continuing since. RVSF says that VRA has been attempting to advance into the territory of the Dominion of Vesvai. The Revolutionary Army and the Revolutionary Navy have both been trying to violate the sovereignty of the Dominion of Vesvai. They keep doing so. RVSF has been taking all precautions to defend the nation but it also needed government backing. The military needed orders and permission to escalate attacks because low intensity fighting to fend off New Vesvai was not working. The troops have gotten what they sought.

Vesvai’s Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit convinced Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal and MPs that the military now needed more freedom. To effectively fight back New Vesvai now had to be treated like an aggressor that RVSF had to confront. To fight off the aggressor RVSF needed access to all of its power. Vesvai’s government approved verbally and legally. PM Jonathan Mollisal has not yet been seen publicly responding to the crisis but his press representatives confirm that Mollisal has been actively engaged. The Prime Minister is cooperating with the military and backing it in the national defense. Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit was the one to voice the government’s view that RVSF now has only two options: stand down or be defeated. Vesvai’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nicholas Vicina said Vesvai would seek the help of ROVAA and Commonwealth allies if the crisis escalated.

New Vesvai’s Revolutionary Air Force Takes Down 2 Of Vesvai’s Jets And Strikes Land Targets

The Dominion of Vesvai escalated its aggression after the government ordered the Royal Vesvaian Security Forces to use more force at its disposal. RVSF army escalated attacks on the land front by shelling the positions of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army. Mortars have been aiming at firing in New Vesvai’s direction all day. VRA troops could barely get out from under the fire because they had to take cover the whole. As soon as the fire slowed down they saw rare openings and fled. Evacuation from under the fire was already heard so firing back was even harder. VRA interpreted RVSF’s strategy as an attempt to make VRA soldiers flee from mortal fire and shelling. In that way the border zone would be left abandoned and the Dominion’s army could easily cross into New Vesvai. Invaders could then start advancing or place their weapons on New Vesvai’s soil. That way they could start firing at New Vesvai’s forces they’d see coming.

The shelling was causing real problems for New Vesvai’s army and even military vehicles. VRA needed for air support to create an opening so the Vesvaian Revolutionary Air Force was called in. The fighter jets struck the enemy’s target on land that were on the Dominion’s soil and some that attempted to cross into New Vesvai. The Revolutionary Air Force needed to move quick because RVSF had a lot of anti-aircraft guns and missile batteries on land. They were among some of the most important targets to destroy first before they fire at New Vesvai’s aircraft. The Dominion responded by sending in its Royal Vesvaian Air Force. A clash ensued between both air forces and New Vesvai’s warplanes managed to shoot two of the Dominion’s jets out of the sky. After clearing the ground and taking down two of the Dominion’s planes the Revolutionary Air Force moved back with ground support. VRA now had an opening to regroup and mobilize near the border. Military officials are expecting that the Dominion of Vesvai will be sending reinforcements.

At the maritime border the Revolutionary Navy says that the Royal Navy keeps firing back and trespassing into New Vesvai’s waters. The Revolutionary Navy is seeking permission for a powerful counter-attack to get the Royal Navy further away from New Vesvai’s waters.

Predator Drones Strike New Vesvai’s Targets During Fighting

The Royal Vesvaian Security Forces have used an opening to deliver major damage to the Vesvain Revolutionary Army. RVSF used the distraction of VRA in the land fighting to deploy predator drones. These small but deadly drones are invisible to the naked eye and blend into the sky. It is hard for the enemy to spot in normal circumstances so catching a distracted army off ground was even more realistic. These drones fired at New Vesvai’s army positions and struck some of their vehicles and weapons systems. Only one drone was lost but overall major damage was delivered to VRA. This was hailed as a smarter move when compared to VRA’s usage of the Revolutionary Air Force. Large warplanes are visible and detectable while predator drones are not. The drone strikes were also a retaliation by RVSF against VRA’s earlier airstrikes that caused a lot of damage to RVSF positions.

Back in Aurisi Vesvai’s Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit said that what is going on is no longer a border skirmish like before. It is now a large war. Praesedit recommended that the Parliament issue a declaration of war by the Dominion of Vesvai on New Vesvai. The declaration of war would give the Dominion of Vesvai legal basis to fight the aggressor however it deems necessary to win. Some MPs have commented on the proposal and said that ROVAA and the Rhodeve Commonwealth might not approve if Vesvai made such a decision alone. It is unlikely the Parliament will support Praesedit’s proposal. Vesvai’s Governor-General Andrew Gaileta supports the declaration of war but also backs the Parliament’s approach. Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal still has not publicly commented on the conflict. His press representatives promise that the Prime Minister will make an address soon.

The Future of Air Layfet and CargoBound

Layfet's two airlines, the commercial government owned passenger service line - Air Layfet and the privately owned cargo service airline CargoBound are the only two companies that haven't seen much if any downturn during the Layfetian recession. Now included as part of the Ventismarian Union air market, costs have gone down and expansion opportunities are just around the corner.

Air Layfet announced this last week that is plans to begin offering services between VU cities, starting between Whitemount, Capsland to Burton, Capsland, as well as Burton to Artwingen, Lindenholt. It will offer more services from other VU cities depending on demand and costs. The company also announced that it will start making flights between Kiezian cities in 2020 and is currently in negotiation with Kiezian airports and the government.

CargoBound recently just opened a hub at Boundary Bay International Airport in the IDF, and will use the hub as a way to deliver cargo to emerging markets in less developed counties of Ziambian and Sunafrica. With this, CargoBound hopes to jump its number of shipping operations to become the 5th largest shipper in the world, up from its current spot of 7th. CargoBound CEO John Gruman also announced that CargoBound will buy several new aircraft in order to expand shipping across Corentia, including flying into Engleberg, which has made members of the Layfetian government worried.

National Defense Council Holds A Meeting Over The Inter-Vesvai Conflict

President Válîd Sâlúbĕr has called up an emergency meeting of the National Defense Council over the break-out of a military conflict between New Vesvai and the Dominion of Vesvai. Both countries on the island in Dogmana have had clashes and skirmishes in the past, however, the current confrontation, which broke out several days ago, has escalated into an full-scale armed conflict that both countries have always balanced on the verge of, but managed to avoid until now. New Vesvai is an ally of Sunrisia and both our countries have a military alliance under the Mutual Defense Treaty. Because of bilateral commitment to defense and security against an outside attack or invasion, Sunrisia is obligated to help New Vesvai. Therefore, the Sâlúbĕr administration is currently engaged in a National Defense Council meeting to formulate the response.

Before the National Defense Council meeting started, National Defense Consultant Clîpăs Dépúlsên stated the following:

“Ideally, we would like to see a cease-fire, however, until that happens, our responsibility is to defend New Vesvai. It is not a secret that the Dominion of Vesvai was never “enthusiastic” about the independence of New Vesvai and there have been many voices inside Vesvai calling for a forceful reunification of the island under a single flag. That would have been the flag of the Dominion of Vesvai, like it was before. Vesvai has kept its’ armed forces on the border with New Vesvai before and after New Vesvai became independent. That was an unvoiced sign that the Dominion of Vesvai was not comfortable with the southern portion of the country becoming an independent state.

We have reasons to believe that the skirmishes between both Vesvais were the result of provocations from the Dominion of Vesvai, with the motive of architecting a reason to start an armed conflict with New Vesvai and thus invade, occupy and annex the lost territory back into a single state. Since New Vesvai does not yet have a new elected government after the country had undergone a revolution not that long ago, the Dominion of Vesvai is using the weakened the state of its’ southern neighbor, the absence of a commander-in-chief, to strike. Vesvai was the first to use heavier military attacks in this conflict and we are now hearing their Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit calling for a declaration of war, which would give them an opening to act more freely in their military tactics. If war is declared, Vesvai would begin a more active advance to occupy New Vesvai. This move could also be a test to our alliance with New Vesvai, in order to see if it is based on anything more than words and signatures. At the National Defense Council meeting, I am going to advice the President that we respond accordingly with our Mutual Defense Treaty obligations.

As I have mentioned before, the Sunrisian side wishes to see a cease-fire, but we will have to act in the defense of New Vesvai until that happens. To achieve a cease-fire, it needs to be a bilateral effort. We can advice New Vesvai to be ready for it, but on the other side, the allies of the Dominion of Vesvai have to pressure them into agreeing to a cease-fire as well. Regarding Sunrisian response, I am sharing what I will advise the President to do, but it will ultimately be up to the commander-in-chief to make the final decision.”

The lawsuit between Blue Light Studios; the largest single production company in Rhodevus, and the Rhodeve federal government has entered into its third day in court. After opening statements early two weeks ago and the exchange of over three dozen documents between both sides and the court, lawyers continue to discuss details surrounding the movie’s forced cancellation.

During the court session, Rhodevus may have unintentionally released information stating that there are over five thousand documents still undisclosed and confidential from the War of Flowers and over thirty-four thousand documents still undisclosed from the James’ Wars from back in 2007. This would mean that nearly 20% of documents from the War of Flowers and over 70% from the James’ Wars still remain classified.

While this information is allowed to continue to remain classified until 2029 and 2057 respectably, this new information goes against publicly available speeches from multiple senators and members of parliament and those in the upper echelons of the military stating that most documentation were released.

In 2009, High Admiral Theodore Langley stated, “[only] 10% of files remain classified from [the War of] Flowers. The rest will be released at the end of the 50 year period, to keep key figures and their names hidden from public scrutiny. As for the [James’ Wars], as this was a conflict involving the people, the people should know all the information. As such, half has already been opened to the public with another 15% to become available in 2016.”

2016 has long since come and gone. It was promised that 65% of documentation from the James’ Wars would be disclosed to the public, and yet less than half that amount has truly become available. Similarly, lies regarding the amount of information available in the War of Flowers have been brought to light.

This has lead to the judge presiding over the lawsuit to demand that 2,500 documents be revealed, especially those pertaining to wartime propaganda and political espionage.

There have been calls by members of parliament active in this lawsuit that the queen use her power to throw out the lawsuit entirely, but the queen has remained silent on the matter. It may be due to a circulating video of Queen Diana from 2012 which holds an eerily similar statement to High Admiral Theodore Langley from 2009. As the monarch herself is now a part of this controversy, many are wondering if the queen was just using information provided to her by her military staff, or if she too knew.

Bohi Supreme Leader Assassinated!

It has finally come to the attention of the international community of important events in The Bohin. For over a month now, the Bohi government has been silent. Very little communication has been going on between the Bohi government and the allied forces in Molenston tasked with ensuring that The Bohin remains faithful to the terms of its surrender. While military reports do say that the Bohi government has remained in compliance with the 22 terms, efforts in ensuring their effectiveness have slowed dramatically in the last month.

Such terms, negotiated by Rezuan and Rhodeve politicians which ask for the complete dismantlement of The Bohin’s jamming towers and anti-radio communication network and the reconstruction of collapsed portions of the demilitarized zone barriers have ground to a halt. Over 143 towers which were scheduled for dismantling in September still remain and over 200km of wire are still in place. When asked about the stop in progress, the Bohi government responded that “all was proceeding as scheduled.”

This could not be further from the truth. It was only now that word was finally revealed as to why the government has been in shambles. The information comes from an undisclosed high-ranking politician currently seeking political asylum in Layfet. The politician made their way on foot from Sugmei City, the capital of The Bohin, to the Layfetian embassy in Asmara. This person revealed that the supreme dictator of The Bohin, a one Abdu Sugmei who had been in control of The Bohin since 1993 has been assassinated.

Who could have done such a thing remains unknown, but what has come to light, is that there is a power struggle among his generals for who should control the military and therefore the nation at large. This comes about due to Adbu Sugmei’s lack of a child and therefore no official heir in which to take control of the military.

Sources state that The Bohin’s three generals have all taken a portion of the military as well as a section of territory in order to regain control of the dictatorship. General Iwen Wakker, who commanded The Bohin during the fourth Malesti-Bohi War has declared himself the official successor. It was most likely him who lead the assassination of Sugmei as he was the only of the country’s three generals in the capital at the assumed timeframe of the attack.

Generla Iza Cotton and General Weru Muhammed both have declared control of the nation themselves. A fourth person has declared themselves leader as well; ex-general Wazi Kinn has formed his own coalition to take the country.

The ex-general had lead the third Bohi-Malesti War, which took place in 1984 until 1985. As of now, only small skirmishes have broken out between the fractured military, but all signs point to an escalating conflict as the four generals push their claims to Sugmei’s dictatorship in The Bohin.

Revolutionary Navy Launches A Counter-Offensive To Push Out The Royal Navy Warships

New Vesvai’s Revolutionary Navy has launched a counter-offensive against the Dominion’s Royal Navy. This attack is a mobilized effort to force as many trespassing ships of the Dominion of Vesvai to exit New Vesvai’s territorial waters. Acting Ministry of the Vesvaian Revolutionary Army says that the naval front remains as active as land and aerial fronts. The Vesvaian Revolutionary Army has said that all it’s doing is defending against the Dominion’s aggression that is now in full-swing.

Yesterday Vesvai’s Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit proposed to declare war on New Vesvai. Vesvai’s government in Aurisi has not gone through with it but this proposal already confirms that the Dominion of Vesvai wants to reoccupy and annex New Vesvai. That is why this whole ordeal was started, according to many officials. New Vesvai’s Head Administrator Andre Tilicome, Acting Prime Minister Raio Foranel, and leader of New Vesvai’s Silver Revolution and the National Renewal (NR) party Adi Letago, have condemned Vesvai’s Robert Praesedit as a war criminal.

In New Vesvai’s transitional Parliament there have been calls to declare war on the Dominion of Vesvai too after Praesedit’s. But this proposal was met with two obstacles. The first one is that by declaring war before the Dominion of Vesvai does New Vesvai might indeed look like an aggressor while being the victim. The second obstacle is the doubt that the Supreme Court would allowed an unelected transitional government to declare war on anybody. With this in mind the declaration of war by New Vesvai seems unlikely.

Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal Denounces New Vesvai

Vesvai’s Prime Minister Jonathan Mollisal has finally publicly addressed the military conflict with New Vesvai since its breakout. The address happens nearly an hour after New Vesvai’s Revolutionary Navy launched a brutal attack on the Royal Navy. PM Mollisal did not say much be he covered the basics:

“[I] denounce New Vesvai because the southern neighbor of ours is the aggressor here. Your officials call Vesvai’s Minister of National Defense and Security Robert Praesedit a war criminal but all of New Vesvai’s officials are the actual war criminals. I will say that the Minister’s understandable proposal to declare war is controversial but he has just been doing everything necessary to heroically defend this nation. I will not support that proposal and I would recommend that MPs from my own and opposition parties do not support it too. Considering the international relationships and ties that Vesvai has it is not our place to make such a decision. I also know that New Vesvai’s transitional government does not hold a legal power to declare war so we are not alarmed that something like that could happen. Declaring war on us would be a mistake and one that New Vesvai would declare. I call on New Vesvai’s transitional government to stand down and cease their aggression. You will not achieve anything with this because our shared island will not have New Vesvai’s flag fly all across it. New Vesvai will not become the sole government of all of Vesvai and the whole island.”

Secretary General Joan Armbrüster of the Council of 3 expresses concern over the armed clash between the Vesvais

Secretary General Joan Armbrüster has voiced his concern over what looks like an active war between the two Vesvais. Armbrüster said that New Vesvai is one of three founding members of the Council of 3 with Daredland and West Zilveren Berg and that is why the Council of 3 cannot be silent. It is hard to say what level Armbrüster’s announcement holds. He could have made this announcement as a personal expression of concern. But holding the post of the Secretary General of the Council of 3 makes it that Armbrüster can only speak on behalf of the Council of 3. The contradiction is that neither the foreign ministries of the Daredi Confederation nor West Zilveren Berg have spoken out yet. The position of New Vesvai is clear because it is a party to the conflict. Armbrüster clarified that he would not make the statement if the Council of 3 did not communicate and reach this consensus.

“The Council of 3 sympathizes with its member New Vesvai in the conflict. New Vesvai is not only a fellow Council member but a strategic partner to the other members of the Council of 3. But as a political organization the Council of 3 cannot do anything to help out its members in a military crisis. The political organization is created for other purposes that are more forum-like.
