Welcome to the Land of the Free, an American Political and Character RP where players can explore the intricacies of government, from the cloak and dagger politics of the capital, to plainspoken compromise in the heartland, to the gritty in-and-outs of running some of the world’s greatest cities.

The year is 2019, and we are nearing the end of one of the most controversial presidencies of the past century. President Wolf, a polarizing and controversial figure, has been diagnosed, unbeknownst to the public, with a crippling disease, and he will soon announce his intention to stay out of the 2020 Race. The struggle for the Presidency is soon to be blown wide open, and all politics hang in the president’s shadow. It is up to you to decide how you will manage in this climate. Will you oppose his policies from the left? Champion them on the right? Or try and chart a middle path amid one of the most polarized periods in American History?

Play as a Senator, Governor, Congressperson, Mayor or any other figure with a hand in today's politics. Or run for office, from dogcatcher to the Presidency to fight for your own slice of the American Political landscape. Create an original character, make history and steer them through... The Land of the Free.

All characters in this RP are original, and all politicians after Reagan left office in 1988 have been replaced with fictional characters. All events that occurred in real history have occurred in this RP, the economy is in the same shape, the climate, international relations, healthcare and everything you can quantify is the same.

What has changed is the President. President Arnold Wolf was elected as a Republican in a populist groundswell, upsetting the ultimate establishment candidate in unprecedented fashion. Wolf is similar to Trump, with similar accusations regarding racism and sexism, a similar tendency to be bombastic and loud, and an identical emphasis on rhetoric that has thrown fuel into the fire of American politics. In 2018 the Republicans took massive losses across the country resulting in losing the House but maintaining the Senate. In late 2018, a government shutdown paralyzed the capitol, but the shutdown was abruptly ended following President Wolf's unexpected capitulation on December 30th. It is 4 days later, the new Congress has been sworn in, and there is an air of great unease that has settled over DC.

THE RULES:

1. The OP's words are the words of the Gods, but these Gods are not infallible, you can argue your position in a civil way but in the end their decision is final.

2. No real people or celebrities as characters. There is no Bernie Sanders that you can play. As per the introductory note, politicians post-Reagan do not exist, or have been replaced with generic stand-ins: you can play them, should you wish. Records and history are the same, including statistics, save in the places where player-characters have brought about a change.

3. Regarding absences- If you, for whatever reason, must take a leave from the roleplay-that is of course fine. But please inform us ahead and how long it may take. If you are found to have just up and left the RP, we may have to simulate how you character act in votes per say, especially depending on their importance.

4. When it comes to writing; please do it well. We expect a certain level of quality with your posts. One or two sentences will not be acceptable, but we can be permissive-if your character is engaged in conversation, a sentence is fine

5. Please make characters of quality and substance. We don't want Mary Sue flawless characters who are 30 year olds, models, former sharecroppers with military service earning a medal of honor and then returning from Iraq to attend Harvard. Those characters aren't very fun to play or interact with. But on the other hand-no sabotage characters. Just because you hate Democrats, don't make a hopelessly corrupt and scandal-ridden Democrat with no redeeming qualities.

6. No cheat-edits. Once you've made an IC post, leave it. Edits to formatting are all right along with typos, but don't try to change anything major compared to what you have already written, especially if it has already been responded to. If your character said it in public, it must stay. Gaffes happen, after all.

7. If you are not sure if something is legal or okay, ask OOC first. Always better to check-and there is limited leniency for things that are obviously bad.

8. No events that directly affect another character without permission first. In essence, avoid physical altercations and outrageous "accidents". Assassination is banned, any external action taken against politicians will take place in the form of an event.

9. No meta-gaming. Do not let the OOC influence the realism of your character's actions. If they are in a closed situation in which information is limited, they cannot state specific statistics, for example.

10. PG-13 limit. Per site-wide rules, nothing too saucy or racy. You know it when you see it.

In this roleplay's predecessor, Washington, there was a tendency for players, especially newcomers, to gravitate towards a certain kind of character, dubbed "hotshots", with several traits typically in common: An extremely young, often fiery, successful, tall and attractive politician, with excellent charisma and skills, often winning in a district or state that their party typically loses in, and possessing an inspiring backstory, with their 'weaknesses' being stubbornness, unwillingness to follow the rules, and generally being an anti-establishment rebel type. Oftentimes as well, their views may be a self-insert of the player's own.

While such a character makes an excellent movie star, they are less fit for a roleplay based off of the realities of Washington. Few thirty-year old Senators built like football players and models are running about, and only so many anti-establishment characters can exist before the 'establishment' becomes a minority.

The recommendation is for new players to consider expanding their horizons. Instead of looking for a "movie star" "hotshot" character type, consider making a character who holds different views than you, who has definite weaknesses, older, establishment. Perhaps more skilled in experience, or other ways.

Everyone wants to be the young prodigy, but it is a better roleplay experience for all, including yourself, to seek some diversity.

Biography:
The Wolf family arrived in Massachusetts in the mid 17th century. Elias Wolf was an indentured servant, working as a miller on a large estate outside of Boston. At the end of service, he converted to Calvinism to fit into the Puritan community he was a part of. He married a Calvinist Englishwoman, and had quite a few children. His son Jedediah Wolf would go on to become a prominent jurist, traveling across New England towards the end of the century to prosecute men and women accused of witchcraft. Unfortunately, the Wolf family would fall from grace. In the mid 18th century, Jedediah’s youngest grandson, Thomas Wolf escaped the Boston stockades, having been arrested on multiple counts of horse thievery.

Since then, the Wolf family has been a mainstay of southern Maine. Thomas settled in the town of Standish. He acquired inexpensive land and started a homestead. As the years passed, the land was handed down through the generations. In 1946, the primary owner was Carter Wolf, and the farm had become primarily a dairy farm. That year, Carter’s second grandson, Arnold, was born.

Arnold grew up on the farm. He was a slender, often sickly, and bookish boy. In school, he was bullied by the Yankee hayseeds of rural Maine. At home, when he was not doing chores, Arnold was constantly reading. One of his interests was in family history and genealogy. Having discovered the story of Jedediah Wolf at the age of 14, he made up his mind to pursue a career in law.

At age 18, Arnold attended the University of Maine, and earned a degree in history. Succeeding there, he went on to Harvard Law, wherein he earned his JD. Armed with the cantankerous nature he inherited from his grandfather, and years of having a chip on his shoulder, Arnold proved himself to be a skilled orator and consistently did well in a trial setting.

Following a university deferment and his graduation in 1968, he went to work for a large legal practice in Washington, DC. There, he specialized in contract law. Arnold despised the hours of clerical work he was subjected to, the sucking up that was expected of him, and his colleagues who were more willing to play the game. During this time, he married a colleague named Janice Novak, who had a child soon thereafter. After five years, he returned to Boston. There, he opened a small plaintiff’s attorney practice so he could return to the court room and be his own boss. After a few years, he expanded his practice, hiring associates. Through his shrewd and often dirty legal ability, Arnold became a prominent injury lawyer in the Boston metropolitan area.

With Wolf’s success came growth for the firm. Advertisements often criticized as misleading but high in energy were seen across New England’s media markets. By the time 8 years of practicing rolled around, Wolf and Associates was a fixture of the scummy side of the region’s legal scene. It was at this time, in the mid 1980s, that Wolf wanted more.

Seeing the success of Reagan in 1980, the ambitious Wolf began to plot his own political course. A lifelong Democrat, he switched to the Republican Party. He left Boston, living half of the time in his home town in Maine. In 1984, his self funded and often dirty campaign narrowly won the primary in Maine’s First District, after the incumbent Republican retired. He would go on to win the general election, aided by Reagan’s national blowout.

The Republican establishment viewed Wolf as a potential rising star. His courtroom experience lent itself well to skillful speeches on the House floor, and his perceived legal chops landed him a coveted seat on the House Judiciary Committee. For a time, Arnold Wolf felt as though he was on top of the world. He dreamt of how House leadership, the senate, and more were within his grasp. His success was clearly seen back in Maine. In a controversial move, Wolf divorced his wife Janice and married the 20 year old winner of a statewide beauty pageant midway through his term. He was on top of the world. In 1986, that all came to a crashing halt.

One of the seats that the Democrats flipped in their somewhat successful midterm performance was Maine’s First. In the months between Wolf’s loss and his removal from office, he went on a warpath against congressional leadership. He accused the Republicans of abandoning his seat, of not putting resources into holding it. He passed blame on everyone but himself. The party attempted to smooth things over, telling him to run again in 1988. Instead of doing that, Wolf instead announced his intention to run for the Republican nomination in the presidential primary.

In the primary, Wolf ran as a moderate, in his own words. He ran as a New England Rockefeller Republican. Thanks to geography and tireless campaigning, Wolf had a surprisingly strong performance in New Hampshire. This buoyed his candidacy and allowed for him to win 5% of the vote nationally.

Wolf’s quest against Reagan’s vice president estranged him from the establishment but made him some new friends. He became close with a man named Robert Abernathy, a former White House communications staffer under Nixon and Reagan. Abernathy had planned a conservative protest candidacy in 1992, after the president broke his “read my lips” promise on taxation. Wolf assisted Abernathy with the campaign, stumping for him in New Hampshire and serving as a national campaign co-chair. Additionally, he launched an unsuccessful lawsuit against the National Republican Committee over the cancellation of the South Dakota primary. Following Abernathy’s loss, Wolf publicly endorsed Governor Clifford, a southern Democrat, in the general election.

Wolf returned to Maine. Having grown too political for Wolf and Associates, he formally left the firm, selling the rights to use his name to the former associates. Having enough wealth, Wolf focused full time on activism. In 1994, Wolf launched a campaign for governor. He won the Republican primary against a few minor candidates. He went on to receive a little over 23% in what became a four way race.

Following this loss, Wolf grew disenchanted with the Republican Party and with running for office. Fortunately, his loss came at the right time. Conservative talk radio was a new phenomenon, growing rapidly. Some hosts had millions of regular listeners. Wolf became a regular guest on a number of shows, especially as a critic of the Republican establishment. Wolf was nothing if not sharp tongued, so he was seen as a great addition to conservative radio. Broadcasting from Portland, Maine, Lone Wolf was born.

The show grew across New England. As the 1996 election approached, Wolf actually left the Republican Party and joined the reform party, supporting the party’s businessman leader in the presidential election. In 1998, however, Wolf returned to the Republican Party. Around this time, Wolf’s show became one of the first to be nationally syndicated. This broadened his audience to a very wide level, allowing for him to hold one of the largest followings on the platform.

In 2000, as a part of the radio and something of an inside joke within the Lone Wolf commentary, Wolf launched a campaign for president. He ran to the far right of the two major candidates. He did not campaign at all, and only won around one percent nationally.

Wolf’s conservative arc continued, and his popularity grew as conservative talk radio ballooned. During the 2008 election, Wolf was credited for infamously creating the “birther theory,” that Senator Baharia was born in Tanzania. Despite accusations of racism, Wolf became a leading anti-Baharia voice. Throughout the Baharia administration, Wolf launched a number of high profile lawsuits against the federal government. He sued on constitutional grounds against the Affordable Care Act, most notably. In 2011, despite making more money over radio, Wolf’s chip on his shoulder and growing ego led to the inking of a deal with Fox News. Wolf took over a weeknight prime time slot, bringing Lone Wolf to television.

His show became very successful, politically. Wolf moved down to Washington, DC for filming. Thanks to a glitzy studio and a teleprompter, television transformed Wolf from a skeezy ambulance chaser and political outcast into a star. He could be seen as an intelligent and legitimate legal mind, a man who could command conversation and lead others. The image of tje capitol and White House behind him was engrained in the minds of his most frequent viewers.

While working in Washington, Wolf entered a very unique social scene. A few billionaires with similar views to his own made Wolf a fixture of parties and fundraisers. One billionaire in particular, Wilson O’Neill (not-Wilbur Ross) became close personal friends with him. Holding protectionist and arguably racist views, the steel magnate convinced Wolf to seek political office again.

In the summer of 2015, Wolf announced controversially on his own television show that he would seek the Republican nomination for the presidency. He started out at about 3% in the polls, but steadily increased over the summer. After losing Iowa, the press was eager to write the eulogies on the Wolf campaign. But thanks to his ties to the state, Wolf won New Hampshire by a wide margin. Despite the embarrassment of not winning Maine, his home state, Wolf won primary after primary and took the nomination. Alliances against him failed. Last ditch efforts to block him at the convention failed. Even through gaffes and incredibly controversial statements about other candidates, Wolf won. To make peace with the establishment, he chose former House Majority Whip Rick Tawney to be his vice presidential nominee.

In 2016, no one expected him to win. With all of his controversial statements, it was assumed that he was losing his marbles. Pitted against former first lady Diane Clifford, it was assumed Wolf’s rambling rallies and poor arguments in the debates would lose him the election. It was assumed America would reject him. Despite those assumptions, he did not collapse in the polls.

There came an October surprise. A tape surfaced of an unused cut from Wolf’s television program. In this tape, Wolf said that it should be alright for him to call women sluts, and that if women dress like sluts, then they are “asking for it.” He was also accused of sexual assault by a number of Fox News interns.

Even with the October surprise, Wolf won. He carried long-Democratic rust belt states, and nearly won Minnesota and his home state of Maine. Despite his loss of the popular vote, Wolf took he presidency.

His tenure has been incredibly controversial. Regular protests and marches have swept the nation. The White House has seen an incredibly high turnover in staff and administrators. Controversy after controversy has dogged Washington. The relentless pursuit of a wall on the southern border has led to gridlock. The ACA repeal failed. Some victories have come in the creation of a new trade agreement in North America, a record number of appointments to Federal Courts, and two appointments to the Supreme Court. (The Wolf tenure has been practically identical to the Trump tenure. However, there has been no Russia investigation for gameplay purposes.)

As things currently stand, Wolf is in a precarious position. Having taking a hardline stance on the budget, directed by his desire for federal funds to go towards the construction of the wall, Wolf dug in for what was expected to be a record-long government shutdown. On the evening of December 30, he suddenly and inexplicably reversed course, accepting a budget deal from the Democratic controlled House. He made no public appearance, and has yet to speak to the press in his usual forward fashion on the matter. On New Year’s Day, 2019, a bombshell report surfaced by the Washington Post went public. The report outlined a plan for the President to announce his decision not to run for re-election in 2020, due to a very recent medical diagnosis, the specifics of which are currently not known by the public. The race for president has been blown wide open for both parties.

Other Info: He is Presbyterian. He has two sons and a daughter. His daughter serves in the White House, and his son has turned into something of a political celebrity. He is the first president with facial hair in over 100 years, something for which he is often caricatured. His political base is often referred to as “The Wolf Pack.”

Biography: Born on 2 June 1953 in Seattle, Washington as Anne Rose Murphy to Catholic family of Irish ancestry. Her mother Rose Murphy (nee Lynch) was an accountant. Her father Frank Murphy served in World War II as a Navy Lieutenant before retiring and becoming a football coach at Garfield High School. Caldwell is a second generation Washingtonian. Showing a degree of idependence Murphy started working part-time as a waiter at the age of 16. She graduated the Ingraham High School, before earning her J.D. at the University of Washington.

Due to her father's poor health, result of his war service, Anne's interest in issues facing veterans originated early in her life. Later in her life she would also take a keen interest in healthcare making the two her signature policies.

Anne Caldwell was elected to the Washington House of Representatives in 1982 at the age of 29. An extensive door-knocking effort was an important part of her campaign. Her campaign drew attention for her passionate, grassroots support. She would remain in that position until 1988 when Jim Highry, the five-term Representative for Washington's 7th Congressional district, would decide not to seek re-election choosing to run for the U.S. Senate instead, unsuccessfully. Over the course of her campaign she endorsed a number of pieces of legislation most notably the Department of Veterans Affairs Act. Caldwell ran for the seat winning with 72% of the vote. She would serve as Representative until 2012 when she decided to run for the Governorship. During her tenure as Representative Caldwell distinguished herself as a progressive politician having supported the [not-Clinton] health care plan of 1993, the Brady Bill, as well as opposing the Patriot Act and the War in Iraq. She also fought for the Violence Against Women Act. In her latter years in the House she voiced her support for banking reform and was an early advocate for the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. On 13 November 2011 she announced she would not be seeking re-election, deciding to run for the Governor of Washington.

Caldwell faced an uphill battle in the gubernatorial election, especially during it's early stages when her opponents tried to accuse her of "playing (or being) a broken record". This coupled with the Democratic vote being fairly evenly split in early polling created a real threat of a Republican winning the blanket primary. Using her strong ground game Caldwell was able to gain an advantage over her strongest Democratic challenger in subsequent months, leading to him dropping out and endorsing her. Caldwell eventually emerged victorious from the blanket primary facing a number of Republican and Independent candidates as well as one Democratic challenger winning 46% of the vote. In the general election she faced off against Republican Gary Ferguson. Polling indicated a close race and the Republican opponent would not concede the election until the evening after it took place. Caldwell became the third woman in the history of the State of Washington and second in a row to serve as Governor.

Anne Caldwell won the governor's mansion on a liberal platform. Before being elected she campaigned for the legalization of same-sex marriage and urged the voters to approve Senate Bill 6239 in a state-wide referendum. During her first term as Governor she faced a divided state legislature with a Republican controlled Senate and Democratic-controlled House which failed to pass a budget in early 2013. After a long battle Caldwell signed a bipartisan budget in June 2013. In August 2013 Caldwell issued a moratorium on capital punishment in which she expressed her opposition to the practice. She attempted to ban the practice, but was blocked by the Republican-controlled Senate. The practice would be eventually abolished on October 11, 2018 by a ruling of the state Supreme Court.

Caldwell won re-election in 2016 with 55% of the vote. During her second term she shifted her focus towards education and environment. Using public pressure Caldwell was able to avoid a partial shutdown of state government and secured funding for free meals for children in public schools. After securing a Democratic majority in both chambers of state legislature in late 2017, Caldwell led the effort to pass a bill that vacated and expunged past marijuana convictions. In 2018 she signed an executive order that prohibited the usage of solitary confinement for youth. In late 2018 Caldwell signed a bill that outlined the reduction of carbon emissons over the next 20 years that included greater investment in green energy and infrastructure for electric cars.

Caldwell served as the chair of the Democratic Governors Association during the 2018 midterm cycle during which Democrats gained 7 governorships nation wide.

Caldwell is considered as a potential candidate for President of the United States in the 2020 election.

Biography:
The Wolf family arrived in Massachusetts in the mid 17th century. Elias Wolf was an indentured servant, working as a miller on a large estate outside of Boston. At the end of service, he converted to Calvinism to fit into the Puritan community he was a part of. He married a Calvinist Englishwoman, and had quite a few children. His son Jedediah Wolf would go on to become a prominent jurist, traveling across New England towards the end of the century to prosecute men and women accused of witchcraft. Unfortunately, the Wolf family would fall from grace. In the mid 18th century, Jedediah’s youngest grandson, Thomas Wolf escaped the Boston stockades, having been arrested on multiple counts of horse thievery.

Since then, the Wolf family has been a mainstay of southern Maine. Thomas settled in the town of Standish. He acquired inexpensive land and started a homestead. As the years passed, the land was handed down through the generations. In 1946, the primary owner was Carter Wolf, and the farm had become primarily a dairy farm. That year, Carter’s second grandson, Arnold, was born.

Arnold grew up on the farm. He was a slender, often sickly, and bookish boy. In school, he was bullied by the Yankee hayseeds of rural Maine. At home, when he was not doing chores, Arnold was constantly reading. One of his interests was in family history and genealogy. Having discovered the story of Jedediah Wolf at the age of 14, he made up his mind to pursue a career in law.

At age 18, Arnold attended the University of Maine, and earned a degree in history. Succeeding there, he went on to Harvard Law, wherein he earned his JD. Armed with the cantankerous nature he inherited from his grandfather, and years of having a chip on his shoulder, Arnold proved himself to be a skilled orator and consistently did well in a trial setting.

Following a university deferment and his graduation in 1968, he went to work for a large legal practice in Washington, DC. There, he specialized in contract law. Arnold despised the hours of clerical work he was subjected to, the sucking up that was expected of him, and his colleagues who were more willing to play the game. During this time, he married a colleague named Janice Novak, who had a child soon thereafter. After five years, he returned to Boston. There, he opened a small plaintiff’s attorney practice so he could return to the court room and be his own boss. After a few years, he expanded his practice, hiring associates. Through his shrewd and often dirty legal ability, Arnold became a prominent injury lawyer in the Boston metropolitan area.

With Wolf’s success came growth for the firm. Advertisements often criticized as misleading but high in energy were seen across New England’s media markets. By the time 8 years of practicing rolled around, Wolf and Associates was a fixture of the scummy side of the region’s legal scene. It was at this time, in the mid 1980s, that Wolf wanted more.

Seeing the success of Reagan in 1980, the ambitious Wolf began to plot his own political course. A lifelong Democrat, he switched to the Republican Party. He left Boston, living half of the time in his home town in Maine. In 1984, his self funded and often dirty campaign narrowly won the primary in Maine’s First District, after the incumbent Republican retired. He would go on to win the general election, aided by Reagan’s national blowout.

The Republican establishment viewed Wolf as a potential rising star. His courtroom experience lent itself well to skillful speeches on the House floor, and his perceived legal chops landed him a coveted seat on the House Judiciary Committee. For a time, Arnold Wolf felt as though he was on top of the world. He dreamt of how House leadership, the senate, and more were within his grasp. His success was clearly seen back in Maine. In a controversial move, Wolf divorced his wife Janice and married the 20 year old winner of a statewide beauty pageant midway through his term. He was on top of the world. In 1986, that all came to a crashing halt.

One of the seats that the Democrats flipped in their somewhat successful midterm performance was Maine’s First. In the months between Wolf’s loss and his removal from office, he went on a warpath against congressional leadership. He accused the Republicans of abandoning his seat, of not putting resources into holding it. He passed blame on everyone but himself. The party attempted to smooth things over, telling him to run again in 1988. Instead of doing that, Wolf instead announced his intention to run for the Republican nomination in the presidential primary.

In the primary, Wolf ran as a moderate, in his own words. He ran as a New England Rockefeller Republican. Thanks to geography and tireless campaigning, Wolf had a surprisingly strong performance in New Hampshire. This buoyed his candidacy and allowed for him to win 5% of the vote nationally.

Wolf’s quest against Reagan’s vice president estranged him from the establishment but made him some new friends. He became close with a man named Robert Abernathy, a former White House communications staffer under Nixon and Reagan. Abernathy had planned a conservative protest candidacy in 1992, after the president broke his “read my lips” promise on taxation. Wolf assisted Abernathy with the campaign, stumping for him in New Hampshire and serving as a national campaign co-chair. Additionally, he launched an unsuccessful lawsuit against the National Republican Committee over the cancellation of the South Dakota primary. Following Abernathy’s loss, Wolf publicly endorsed Governor Clifford, a southern Democrat, in the general election.

Wolf returned to Maine. Having grown too political for Wolf and Associates, he formally left the firm, selling the rights to use his name to the former associates. Having enough wealth, Wolf focused full time on activism. In 1994, Wolf launched a campaign for governor. He won the Republican primary against a few minor candidates. He went on to receive a little over 23% in what became a four way race.

Following this loss, Wolf grew disenchanted with the Republican Party and with running for office. Fortunately, his loss came at the right time. Conservative talk radio was a new phenomenon, growing rapidly. Some hosts had millions of regular listeners. Wolf became a regular guest on a number of shows, especially as a critic of the Republican establishment. Wolf was nothing if not sharp tongued, so he was seen as a great addition to conservative radio. Broadcasting from Portland, Maine, Lone Wolf was born.

The show grew across New England. As the 1996 election approached, Wolf actually left the Republican Party and joined the reform party, supporting the party’s businessman leader in the presidential election. In 1998, however, Wolf returned to the Republican Party. Around this time, Wolf’s show became one of the first to be nationally syndicated. This broadened his audience to a very wide level, allowing for him to hold one of the largest followings on the platform.

In 2000, as a part of the radio and something of an inside joke within the Lone Wolf commentary, Wolf launched a campaign for president. He ran to the far right of the two major candidates. He did not campaign at all, and only won around one percent nationally.

Wolf’s conservative arc continued, and his popularity grew as conservative talk radio ballooned. During the 2008 election, Wolf was credited for infamously creating the “birther theory,” that Senator Baharia was born in Tanzania. Despite accusations of racism, Wolf became a leading anti-Baharia voice. Throughout the Baharia administration, Wolf launched a number of high profile lawsuits against the federal government. He sued on constitutional grounds against the Affordable Care Act, most notably. In 2011, despite making more money over radio, Wolf’s chip on his shoulder and growing ego led to the inking of a deal with Fox News. Wolf took over a weeknight prime time slot, bringing Lone Wolf to television.

His show became very successful, politically. Wolf moved down to Washington, DC for filming. Thanks to a glitzy studio and a teleprompter, television transformed Wolf from a skeezy ambulance chaser and political outcast into a star. He could be seen as an intelligent and legitimate legal mind, a man who could command conversation and lead others. The image of tje capitol and White House behind him was engrained in the minds of his most frequent viewers.

While working in Washington, Wolf entered a very unique social scene. A few billionaires with similar views to his own made Wolf a fixture of parties and fundraisers. One billionaire in particular, Wilson O’Neill (not-Wilbur Ross) became close personal friends with him. Holding protectionist and arguably racist views, the steel magnate convinced Wolf to seek political office again.

In the summer of 2015, Wolf announced controversially on his own television show that he would seek the Republican nomination for the presidency. He started out at about 3% in the polls, but steadily increased over the summer. After losing Iowa, the press was eager to write the eulogies on the Wolf campaign. But thanks to his ties to the state, Wolf won New Hampshire by a wide margin. Despite the embarrassment of not winning Maine, his home state, Wolf won primary after primary and took the nomination. Alliances against him failed. Last ditch efforts to block him at the convention failed. Even through gaffes and incredibly controversial statements about other candidates, Wolf won. To make peace with the establishment, he chose former House Majority Whip Rick Tawney to be his vice presidential nominee.

In 2016, no one expected him to win. With all of his controversial statements, it was assumed that he was losing his marbles. Pitted against former first lady Diane Clifford, it was assumed Wolf’s rambling rallies and poor arguments in the debates would lose him the election. It was assumed America would reject him. Despite those assumptions, he did not collapse in the polls.

There came an October surprise. A tape surfaced of an unused cut from Wolf’s television program. In this tape, Wolf said that it should be alright for him to call women sluts, and that if women dress like sluts, then they are “asking for it.” He was also accused of sexual assault by a number of Fox News interns.

Even with the October surprise, Wolf won. He carried long-Democratic rust belt states, and nearly won Minnesota and his home state of Maine. Despite his loss of the popular vote, Wolf took he presidency.

His tenure has been incredibly controversial. Regular protests and marches have swept the nation. The White House has seen an incredibly high turnover in staff and administrators. Controversy after controversy has dogged Washington. The relentless pursuit of a wall on the southern border has led to gridlock. The ACA repeal failed. Some victories have come in the creation of a new trade agreement in North America, a record number of appointments to Federal Courts, and two appointments to the Supreme Court. (The Wolf tenure has been practically identical to the Trump tenure. However, there has been no Russia investigation for gameplay purposes.)

As things currently stand, Wolf is in a precarious position. Having taking a hardline stance on the budget, directed by his desire for federal funds to go towards the construction of the wall, Wolf dug in for what was expected to be a record-long government shutdown. On the evening of December 30, he suddenly and inexplicably reversed course, accepting a budget deal from the Democratic controlled House. He made no public appearance, and has yet to speak to the press in his usual forward fashion on the matter. On New Year’s Day, 2019, a bombshell report surfaced by the Washington Post went public. The report outlined a plan for the President to announce his decision not to run for re-election in 2020, due to a very recent medical diagnosis, the specifics of which are currently not known by the public. The race for president has been blown wide open for both parties.

Glen was born to Patrice and Robert Richardson of whole owned a small realtor company in North Carolina, employing around a dozen people.

Nathaniel attended Duke University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics, then proceeding on and acquiring a Masters in Business Administration. During college, he worked as an intern with the office of a local Congressman and operated frequently in conjunction with the congressman's domestic affairs adviser. During this time, he also volunteered for other local candidates for office and generally involved himself in the democratic process as much as possible.

After college Richardson moved to DC to work as a political writer, often part time. During this period he worked a number of odd jobs but eventually became a fitness instructor which eventually proved even better for making connections in politics.

Through a client he managed to get hired by the conservative advocacy group "America Tomorrow", becoming a full time writer for several years until the 2000 election when he took a position as one of the speechwriters for the Vice President in 2001. In 2004, Richardson returned to North Carolina, taking up a position with his family’s small business and working with local Republicans to build up connections.

In 2008, Richardson ran to unseat incumbent Democrat Peggy Epps in North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District, winning 55% of the vote in part do to his family's positive name recognition in the area and his connections with the Vice President. Shortly after his election, Nathaniel’s more moderate positions on social issues became evident. He had frequently required whipping in order to pass measures on abortion restrictions past the first trimester and measures restricting gay marriage, whipping him was not difficult but it did require some effort.

While in Congress, he began championing education reform and joined the Committee on Education and the Workforce eventually coming to chair the committee after the 2010 election. He has consistently favored expanding merit pay for teachers and introducing ESA and voucher programs, and he was the author of the DC voucher pilot program. All this notwithstanding Nathaniel is best known for being a policy wonk, he was the numbers guy who wrote numerous reforms to the tax code especially regarding small businesses and farmers and often brought up policy minuta on the floor of Congress that would have subtle impacts on legislation.

In 2012 he ran for Governor of North Carolina following the poor response to the recession pursued by the incumbent Democratic Governor. Winning a narrow victory with the help of his extremely socially conservative lieutenant governor Richardson set about the reforms that made North Carolina the state it is today, focusing on Economy, Education and Healthcare.

Since his inauguration Richardson has committed strongly to fiscal conservatism, balanced budgets, low taxes and de-regulation. As a result the economy has flourished, becoming the 10th largest in the country. Unemployment dropped from close to 9% to 4% with steady job growth especially in the Professional and Business Services area, the labor market in NC is among the strongest in the nation. Unfortunately NC remained low in terms of overall per capita income, hovering around the 40th in the nation.

Since 2013 North Carolina has had the fastest growing economy in the country with an average consistent 2% growth, between the first quarter of 2013 and the third quarter of 2015 (the most recent data we have), no state’s economic output grew as fast as North Carolina’s 13.4 percent rate. Which Nathaniel credits to cuts in income taxes and unemployment benefits through work requirements. Despite an estimate $4.4 billion in tax relief, North Carolina also has the fourth highest state government surplus per capita.

Using a combination of Education Savings Accounts and support for Charter Schools, Richardson has brought NC from 30th in the nation in terms of education to 25th. The quality of public schools declined drastically but private institutions flourished, and more people could go than ever before. Additionally Nathaniel has focused heavily on trade schools and job training for careers that do not require degrees, and as a result the number of Carolinians graduating every year with a college degree has gone down.

After receiving an ACA deferment, Nathaniel assembled a bi-partisan group and built a healthcare system for North Carolina called CCC “Carolina’s Choice Care” which emphasized personal choice, competition and healthcare exchanges while providing a basic safety net. It has been of limited success in the 2 years it has been active but costs for healthcare have consistently (if slowly been reduced).

In 2013 Nathaniel married his campaign manager Amanda De Sousa, who continues to work on political campaigns throughout the state and region. She has frequently been described as one of the most involved and influential first ladies of any state.

In 2014 Nathaniel vetoed the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act aka the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act, specifically going after the provisions in the bill that kept LGBTQ indivduals from bringing discrimination cases to court.

In 2016 Nathaniel won re-election though faced a strong primary challenge by his own Lieutenant Governor who was critical of his veto of the bathroom bill and who finally who resigned after Richardson decided to remove some Confederate monuments from public spaces, placing them in museums and battlefields “Appropriate historical context” after incidents of white supremecist violence. To appeal to religious voters Nathaniel pushed for some measures that limited Trasgender involvement in high school and college athletics in the state and placing strong religious freedom protections in place for businesses, additionally he increased restrictions to abortion including signing a 20 week abortion ban into law which was later declared unconstitutional by a court. It was just enough of a bone to throw to put Nathaniel over the top, his excellent record regarding the economy and education lead him to a 60-40 primary win over his former lt governor.

Emerging bent but unbroken from the primary, Richardson found a resounding victory in the general on the back of a booming economy and strong education policy. He owed this victory to a significant portion of African American voters either staying home or voting for him, additionally blue collar towns that typically voted democrat flipped for him, his victory was 53-47.

Since 2016 Nathaniel has stayed a bit more cautious in his measures, improving on the progress he had already made as Governor in his first term. He has sought occasion to comment on national issues and even a few foreign policy stances, including being a strong advocate for Israel, taking a trip there to start a joint project between North Carolina and Israel. Additionally he typically travels outside the state at least once a month to give lectures on college campuses throughout the country, campaign for Republicans and speak to Young Republican organizations on college campuses. Recently he has been making trips to South Carolina and spoke at the “Politics and Eggs” breakfast in New Hampshire last year, leading many to suspect he has national ambitions. He has a strong and growing twitter following during which he frequently posts short videos of himself signing bills and doing everyday tasks as governor in a lighthearted fashion (Gov Abbot style IRL).

James was born in 1966 to an impoverished family in Detroit, he never knew his father but was raised by his mother, grandmother and uncles

James went to public school in Detroit for his primary and secondary education, he would grow up hearing about his family's involvement in the civil rights movement, 2 of his uncles had marched with MLK and both had been arrested during the 1967 Detroit Riot. He continued that tradition, from a small age volunteering with civil rights organizations in the state. In 1984 he would attend the Lewis College of Business to get a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a focus in Entrepreneurship.

After college he worked as a writer and researcher for various research groups in the Midwest as well as the NAACP. He married his high school sweetheart after returning to Detroit. While not raised in a religious household, he would begin to attend Baptist church semi-regularly with his wife. In 1988 he became one of the founding members of One Detroit, an organization that dedicated itself to community service, engagement and youth outreach, with the goal of sending impoverished kids from Detroit to college or get them good paying jobs.

He became known throughout the state by protesting the Iraq War in 2003, while initially detrimental to his career as public opinion turned against the war he was viewed with increasing levels of popularity. In 2006 he would run for the House of Representatives for the 14th district, he expected an easy victory but his primary opponent would begin a number of vicious rumors to hurt Moore, he lost big time. He would lose the primary but ended up becoming a key member of the democratic governor's administration.

Now jobless, from 2006-2008 Moore was tasked with heading the democratic governor's “no worker left behind program” which provided two years of free training or community college for unemployed and displaced workers. The program proved quite popular and successful, much of which was credited to Moore who had used his position to take a very public role.

In 2008 he ran again for the House of Representatives 12th district and won, this time much more prepared and not overconfident. His first bills focused on immigration reform, partnering with an elder respected democratic rep John Bauer who would become a mentor to James before Bauer’s retirement in 2012. After redistricting in 2012 Moore decided to run for Senate in a newly open seat, running on a platform of “finishing the ACA” pushing for reforms and a public medicare option. He emerged as a champion of the middle class and a warrior against the “rigged economy”, he got a prime time speaking slot at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in a well received speech known as “The Rigged Game”.

James sponsored several bills designed to limit the activities of the NSA and was known for speaking at length about the infringement of civil liberties in the name of national security, his defense of Muslims against racial profiling and denouncement of the Patriot Act. Additionally he was a major voice sponsoring the violence against women act, and a number of initiatives to increase gender equality.

Other major focuses of his congressional tenure would be welfare reform, consumer protections, raising corporate taxes, proving affordable (not free) college, single payer healthcare to replace Wisntoncare, globalization, LGBTQ rights, Abortion Rights and housing reform. He would introduced a few bills and initiatives meant to combat bullying, internet harassment and teen suicide. Finally he gained national attention by leading the charge to protect the DREAMERS

In 2014 he began to focus heavily on bringing manufacturing jobs to his state and district through lobbying while remaining staunchly pro-labor often introducing legislation designed to go after those he saw responsible for the recession and who were generally exploitative of the American Public. After Detroit declared bankruptcy he partnered heavily with Quicken Loans to help them revitalize the city, lobbying for them in DC and in Michigan. His ties to corporate america from this made him unpopular with progressives but doubtlessly aided with Detroit’s comeback.

He was very early ringing the warning bell for the Flint Water Crisis and spent a great deal of time with the Flint Community using his position and celebrity to bring attention to the crisis. He won a lot of points with the state of Michigan by frequently advocating for federal assistance in a very loud and public way, asking the President to declare a state of emergency in late 2015. He has continued to advocate for the people of Flint and for improving water quality around the country.

The only issue where he significantly differs from democratic/progressive norms is the issue of schooling, Moore supports charter and private schools, much to the chagrin of the powerful teachers unions. In the past year he has visited Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, additionally he made a well publicized trip to the plantation his mother’s family once worked as slaves leading many to speculate that he has national ambitions.

Jane was born in 1957, the youngest of 6 siblings and the first to be born in a hospital and not on the family farm. She grew up outside Las Cruces, New Mexico to Ruth Gonzalez and Duncan Gonzalez. Her father was from Mexico and her mother was a second generation immigrant from El Salvador. Her family was devoutly Catholic, and she continues to be strongly religious.

The family was poor and while Jane was exceptionally bright she was forced to go to poor public schools, though her mother would often privately tutor her and her siblings in the evenings. Graduating high school in 1973 she took a number of jobs in Las Cruces in order to save up money for college. Eventually she would meet Robert Martinez, who owned a small but expanding hardware store, they would marry in 1978. Additionally to pay for college she would join the New Mexico National Guard serving in a non-combat role, and was enlisted until 2009.


With the money saved, a loan and a scholarship she would attend Furman University graduating with a BA in 1983, 2nd in her class. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1985, and the following year she and a number of friends from college founded a small practice in Las Cruces. She would specialize in business law with an emphasis on small businesses like her husband’s. Sophie and Robert would have 2 children in this time.

She would become more and more involved in local politics until running for city council in 1996, being elected to represent Las Cruces City Council. She would become known as a major advocate for education and pro-life causes while remaining moderate on gun control.

In 2002 she would run for mayor of Las Cruces winning by a slim margin. She set out to become the “education mayor” reforming schools, increasing teacher pay and improving the quality of education in the city. An ardent critic of the state government for inaction, she committed herself to pro-life causes, often clashing in courts with state and federal governments. She has had limited and slow success investing in community businesses, with people being satisfied with the progress but less than enthusiastic. Finally she put a heavy focus on city maintenance, fixing potholes and broken windows.

Despite speculation she would run for governor in 2006 and despite expressing interest publicly she decided to run for the House of representatives for New Mexico’s 2nd district. She would win and focus on building relationships in DC while attempting to convince her party of the importance of the Hispanic vote. As a Congresswoman, she introduced a bill to overturn Roe v. Wade every year though it was constantly rejected. She was noted to have a hand in every single pro life bill in Congress during her tenure and spoke passionately and publcilly against pro-choice measures.

Retiring from Congress in 2012 Martinez immediately joined the leadership of the Susan B Anthony List, leading efforts in the Southwestern United States. In 2017 Martinez was elected President of the Susan B Anthony List. Since then she has done her best to steer the List away from controversy while improving the relationship with the Republican party and increasing its political activism.

Malcom Douglas was born in 1954 in Paterson New Jersey to a well off banking family. After graduating high school in 1972 he spent 2 years as a missionary in Africa, doing aid work and ministering to the population.

Returning home he decided to follow family tradition and enlist in the army in ‘74, it was largely uneventful but he was deployed to Grenada during the military operation there. Eventually he was honorably discharged in ‘85 with a few mild decorations but nothing of note. With a military scholarship in hand he enrolled at Rutgers Business School in ‘86 studying Banking with the intention of joining the family business.

One night while driving a large tree fell on his car, the freak accident resulted in his paralysis below the waist. He sued the tree service company responsible for the tree and was awarded significant damages amounting to $10,000 a month adjusted for inflation until 2022. During rehab he continued his studies, graduating early in ‘89

While in college he developed a love for politics, gaining a minor in Political Science before returning home to work for his family bank in 1990. He continued his work for the family bank for 3 years before being elected as his County’s Democratic Party Chair. Ambition getting the better of him, he ran for Senate in ‘94 but came in 4th in the Democratic primary. Humbled he moved to the background of the party for a few years, helping develop and foster the Democratic Party in the state.

Much better established and prepared Douglas ran for mayor of Paterson in 1996 winning as a strong liberal (100% Pro Choice and 100% Anti Gun) with a few moderate tendencies and strong Union ties and urban renewal programs. After 1 term as mayor, he ran for New Jersey’s 9th district in 2000.

His Senate tenure was spent solidifying his reputation as a ‘good soldier’ and ‘Democrat First’ type warrior, ferociously defending whatever the party line was at the time. He made good connections with as many House and Senate Democrats as possible, going to bat for them many times. He was also frequently a talking head on the news to present the Democratic message to the general public.

After re-election in 2010, he became the deputy house whip for the party, during which time he developed a reputation for greed and ruthlessness as well as having dirt on many members of the party. Helping get them in line after the 2010 losses. In 2014 he became the minority whip following the retirement of the previous holder. Douglas continued to be loyal to the minority leader until 2016 when Wolf was elected. In 2016 given the discontent in the current House Leader to win the house, Douglas launched a coup, stabbed his boss in the back ousting them and forced them to retire at which time Douglas was named leader of the party in the House of Representatives. After tireless campaigning and fundraising for the party, and aided by the growing blowback against Wolf, the house was taken back in 2016

Douglas has spent Wolf’s tenure in a non-stop war, frustrating, delaying and pestering the President as much as possible. Using every trick in the book in order to frustrate the agenda of Wolf, investigate his administration and in general make him look bad. At the same time Douglas has been trying hard to reign in the more progressive members of the party to keep them from steering the party too far left.

Biography: Charlotte Julia Windsor was born on June 13, 1946 into an extraordinarily powerful and wealthy Old Money family in Providence, Rhode Island. Her father was the former United States Ambassador to France, her mother the daughter of one of America’s wealthiest stockbrokers. Needless to say, Charlotte was afforded every opportunity imaginable, an only child who had the repressed dreams of her mother and the outward expectations of her father to juggle as she sped towards adulthood.

Charlotte would attend Harvard University, where her father now oversaw the political science department, and graduate with high honors, entering Harvard Law shortly after and marrying into a similarly powerful family, the Bruschetts. The moment she was out of law school, Charlotte was brought into the law firm of one of her father’s friends, an extraordinarily prestigious business lawyer, and saddled with a massive case involving a high profile bankruptcy. Expected to fail by many of her colleagues, Charlotte dedicated herself to the case thoroughly, going days without sleeping at times and ultimately resolving the case quite favorably, earning her praise in the papers as a woman who really knew how to get things done. This would prove to be the case in future endeavors as well.

In 1976, shortly after the resolution of her case, Charlotte’s Husband, the Heir to the Bruschett name, would be pressured into eyeing a run for the wide open Governorship of Rhode Island, given his political activism and his family’s influence in Rhode Island Politics. He would use the family infrastructure to run for the seat, but his dreams would be dashed by a series of debilitating heart attacks brought on by a severe heart defect that left him barely alive. The Rhode Island Democratic Party needed a replacement, and surprisingly, Charlotte expressed interest in holding the office. She was largely scoffed at initially, there was no way that this 30 year old woman could possibly take up the mantle and function as an executive of an entire state, even one as small as Rhode Island. However, she soon made it apparent to party bosses that she would simply serve as an extension of her husband, and that if they rebuffed her bid she would simply run an independent campaign using her wealth and split the vote, ensuring a loss. They reluctantly cleared the way for her in the Democratic Primary, and following her nabbing of the nomination, shots began to be fired at the Republican Candidate.

State Senator Thomas Wilson’s campaign against Charlotte was dirty, with affiliates questioning her ability to lead as a young and inexperienced woman with “the charisma of a rock’s pet rock” as well as taking stabs at her perceived opportunism. She, however, would fight back just as hard, smearing Wilson as a barely literate imbecile that has stumbled his way into public office by the skin of his teeth and remained there by the grace of God alone. She attacked Wilson’s ties to the Nixon White House and blasted him as corrupt beyond belief and a disgrace to the State Senate’s chamber. There was no televised debate after both candidates declined to participate, and things looked rather close until a bombshell landed and destroyed the Wilson campaign 2 weeks before the election. A questionably sourced allegation accusing Wilson of sexual misconduct with upwards of 3 teenage boys was printed on the front page of the Providence Journal, drawing mass outrage and demands of an explanation from the Republican Candidate. Wilson stumbled in his response, unable to push out a coherent message after being completely blindsided by the accusations. His campaign fell into chaos, and Charlotte’s took advantage, with “unaffiliated” affiliates of the campaign rapidly buying ads depicting Wilson as a sexual predator at worst, and a misguided and creepy dolt at best. The race would be a solid win for Charlotte Bruschett, earning 59% of the vote in an unprecedented victory for a female candidate for public office. Thomas Wilson would commit suicide in his office 4 days following his loss, vilified and on the brink of divorce, and he would blame the Bruschett campaign in the note he left behind. Governor-Elect Bruschett would give a speech solidifying Bruschett’s image as a “troubled man” with “severe mental health issues that led to his untimely death.”, and this characterization would be widely accepted in Rhode Island political canon, though some political scholars have since vehemently rejected this characterization.

Charlotte Bruschett took office in January 1977 and served as governor until 1985, after being reelected in 1978 and 1980 before she oversaw a change in Gubernatorial term lengths and declined to run for reelection in 1984, opting to pursue the Senate instead. By the end of her (technically 3) terms, Charlotte was popular and influential, being dubbed “The Queen of Rhode Island” by The New York Times. Her 8 year Governorship focused on efforts to clean up pollution in Narragansett Bay, preserve open space for recreation, improve the care of children with developmental disabilities, improve programs for the elderly, transition mentally disabled people from institutions to home care, and attract high-tech business to the state.

The defining event of Charlotte’s governorship was the Great Blizzard of February 1978. The blizzard paralyzed the entire state with up to 56 inches of snow. The Governor lived in her office at the Rhode Island State House in Providence for three days until the crisis was under control. Garrahy was remembered for wearing a red and black plaid flannel shirt during the crisis, a move which drew disproportionate amounts of controversy and discussion. The shirt became widely associated with Bruschett; in 2000, she donated the shirt to the Rhode Island Historical Society, where it was placed on display. Charlotte’s response to the storm became a template for public officials reacting to similar situations. Bruschett’s calm demeanor and stoic determination provided comfort to many Rhode Islanders in distress during the blizzard's aftermath. Another moment came following the death of her husband shortly following her reelection in 1980, when she shed a single tear as he was lowered into the ground, polarizing the media into camps of an “Iron Lady” and a “Heartless Manipulator”. This Dichotomy of characterizations would not cease any time soon.

In 1983 Senator Clairborne Pell would be killed in a freak car accident on Christmas Eve, sparking immediate speculation that Governor Bruschett would spur an additional term as Governor to pursue the, sadly, open seat. Sure enough, In January of 1984 she declared her candidacy for the seat, the party rallying around her and Republicans resolving to field a woman against her. She would face off against Barbara Leonard and win 65% of the vote. Shortly following her victory, Bruschett would surprise many by abandoning her taken name of Bruschett and returning to the maiden name Windsor, a move that received substantial attention from the media and feminist writers, who began to see the ascendant Charlotte as a hero and role model.

Charlotte spent her first term in the senate building influence and carefully crafting a profile amongst her peers, often speaking in favor of bills at length in exchange for favors building up rapport with the old guard. She would be involved in most important bills during this time, and she would be reelected in 1990 against Claudette Schneiderhauser, winning 60.4% of the vote. Her tenure pre-2004 would be largely liberal, voting in line with that wing of the party consistently and being an early supporter of concepts such as Universal Healthcare and expanded gay rights. She would come to be well regarded in the caucus, not for her personality but for her strong work ethic and dedication to her job, ranking as one of the most effective legislators of the era. Her shining record made her one of the biggest stars in the Democratic Party, coasting to reelection in ‘96 and being considered a potential challenger to Bill Organ for the party’s nomination in 2000, though she decided against this was was reelected in 2002.

In 2004, her political luck came to an end. Hypothetical polls showing her trouncing President Burke and leading the Democratic field drew her out of her calculated shell and pushed her into a campaign that would be widely considered the worst Presidential Campaign in modern history. The campaign started off with a major gaffe, a terrible joke about the war in Iraq within her announcement speech falling completely flat and leading many on networks like Fox to characterize her as someone who “disrespects the troops” and is disconnected from the lived experiences of many Americans. She made many more gaffes as the campaign dragged on, but the final blow came when it was printed in the Wall Street Journal that she had engaged in an affair with the wife of NBC’s CEO, an allegation that was denied vehemently, but one that saw her drop out of the campaign a few weeks later, months before Iowa. It was an absolute humiliation, with one paper declaring that the “Iron Lady was made of Aluminum all along.” Her high profile beatdown had many feeling sympathetic, but also had many form an incredibly hostile opinion of Windsor that would last until present day.

Bruised and shaken, Charlotte resolved never to run for President again, and resigned herself to continuing her work in the Senate. She would keep up a substantial profile, opposing President Burke at every turn, but would only be truly politically revived after she developed an early attachment to Senator Rashid Baharia, supporting his candidacy in 2008 early on and becoming one of his most effective surrogates in New England and the Senate Caucus. After his victory over Diana Clifford in the primary, Windsor was treated as an “early adopter” and was raised back into prominence in the Senate, and following his ascension to the Presidency she was made Senate Majority Whip. As whip, she proved to be quite capable, having gathered much knowledge of her peers over the years and utilizing that to strongarm, talk, or buy them into voting appropriately.

In 2015 she ascended to become Majority Leader, and since then she has been at the forefront of American political discourse, supporting the remaining years of Baharia’s term and fiercely opposing every move President Wolf has attempted to make. In 2018, her more conservative detractors within the caucus were largely wiped out, making for a more smooth path forward in her leadership devoid of internal struggle.

Biography: Gregory Arturo Kostopolous was born May 3, 1963 in St. Petersburg, Florida to Mary Bunell, a Pediatrician, and Castor Kostopolous, a Greek Immigrant and Small Business owner. One sibling preceded him by two years, a sister by the name of Anysa, and another sibling succeeded him by four, a brother by the name of Galen. Gregory, who would begin to answer to the name Greg upon entering High School, was raised relatively comfortably, though a battle on the horizon during Greg’s adolescence set the family back significantly in finances.

Greg worked part-time in his father’s laundry business and largely assumed responsibility over the establishment after his father was diagnosed with liver cancer, postponing Greg’s college plans by two years as his father battled against the disease and eventually emerged victorious given the relatively early detection of the affliction. Galen Kostopolous would express interest in taking over their father’s operation as Greg pondered college, giving the latter licence and a clear conscience to attend the University of Florida and ultimately attain a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. It was during this time that the middle Kostopolous would meet his first wife, Zoey Barr. The two would marry in 1988 and divorce in 1991 following allegations of infidelity, with Barr being the offending party, but not before the couple had one child, a girl named Ilysse (April 19, 1990).

Shortly following his graduation from college, Greg would enter the real estate business, immediately exhibiting a knack for the trade and quickly outpacing the friend that entered into the market alongside him. His experience as an independent realtor would land him a position within a large firm, where he would stay for 6 years before founding his own independent firm specializing in property management. In 2000 he would marry his current wife, Rosalyn Herrera, a Cuban-American and convert to Roman Catholicism. He would have one child with her, by surprise, a boy by the name of Zander (February 20, 2002)

By 2004, Gregory Kostopolous (who had now legally shortened his name to Greg Kost after much internal debate), had become something of a local celebrity in St. Petersburg due to a widely successful tv ad campaign that used the phrase “Low Cost Kost” over and over again until it was welded into the public’s collective consciousness. “Low Cost Kost” gained more attention following the publication of an opinion editorial published in the St. Petersburg Times, in which he expressed an interest in running for public office and laid out his ideas on how to make city government more efficient. Many believed him to be eyeing a seat on the city council, but following Incumbent Mayor Fletcher’s announcement that he would not be seeking a second term, the charismatic “TV Guy” declared that he’d be running for the highest office in the city

Though the race was non-partisan, the people of St. Petersburg knew that Kost was a Republican, something he had made clear in the year before his bid was brought into existence. He would be the only “major” republican with name recognition to enter the field, and he would end up in a runoff with City Councilwoman and Democrat Beverly Lopez. He would win the election 61-39 and serve a full term as Mayor, his priories largely laying in expanding the previous mayor’s education initiatives and launching his own initiative designed to streamline transportation and eliminate financial waste.

Kost’s term as Mayor was positively received, and towards its end another article from the St. Petersburg Times titled “Fletcher and Kost pushed for change. What comes next?” raised speculation that the Mayor would forgo a second term to seek statewide office. Kost had a friend in the form of the state republican party chair, also from St. Petersburg, would push for Kost to enter the Gubernatorial Race, but Kost would ultimately decide that the Senate race was a better investment due to the rising GOP backlash against President Baharia and the waffling of Incumbent Governor Marlon Crest on whether or not to enter the federal contest. State House Speaker Tristain Rodriguez would ultimately pass on the race, and other candidates would struggle to build up a campaign that could compete with the unique brand “Slash Costs Kost” had built for himself. Ultimately, Crest would run as an independent, and Kost would win the Republican Primary outright with 52% of the Republican vote.

The General Election was a contest between Republican Mayor Greg Kost, Independent Governor Marlon Crest and Democratic Former Ambassador Mitch Cox. The three candidates were within striking distance of one another, with a significant portion of the state undecided, until a particularly strong debate performance by Kost which saw him denounce “creeping socialism” and endorse a return to “common sense financial responsibility” in the wake of a severe recession. While Tea Party Movement threw its full support behind Kost’s campaign, the candidate was noted to be particularly good at drawing larger, more diverse crowds than the typical tea partier, focusing on kitchen table issues and getting the “crippled federal government” out of the lives of everyday people. Ultimately, he would win the election with 54% of the statewide vote given the massive republican turnout in the state and overperformance among minorities, particularly hispanic americans, compared to Governor Crest’s 24% and Ambassador Cox’s 22%.

Mayor Kost became Senator Kost on January 3, 2011. Immediately upon taking office, Kost hired Jason Heikkinen, a former advisor to Secretary of State [Not Condi Rice], as his Chief of Staff, the two developing a close personal relationship that would lead to some on the hill to dub them an “army of two”, with the Senator often sending Heikkinen as his representative to meetings and having him collect sensitive information from colleagues. The two developed a plan for the next 6 years focused largely on pressing hard against the Baharia Agenda, particularly on issues of spending and inflation of the national debt, though a hawkish foreign policy in places like Libya also shone through as hallmarks of the Senator’s first term.

Kost voted against the Budget Control Act of 2011, which included mandatory automatic budget cuts from sequestration. He later said that defense spending should never have been linked to taxes and the deficit, calling the policy a "terrible idea" based on a "false choice."
The following month, Kost and others co-sponsored the American Growth, Recovery, Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Act (AGREE Act), which would have extended many tax credits and exemptions for businesses investing in research and development, equipment, and other capital; provided a tax credit for veterans who start a business franchise; allowed an increase in immigration for certain types of work visas; and strengthened copyright protections. The bill was ultimately killed in committee.

Kost voted against the 2012 "fiscal cliff" resolutions. Although he received some criticism for this position, he responded: "Thousands of small businesses, not just the wealthy, will now be forced to decide how they'll pay this new tax, and, chances are, they'll do it by firing employees, cutting back their hours and benefits, or postponing the new hires they were looking to make. And to make matters worse, it does nothing to bring our dangerous debt under control."

Kost was opposed to the Gang of Eight immigration bill, as he viewed it as “not firm enough” on those who had entered the nation illegally, though he stressed that a comprehensive solution was necessary.

In 2012, Kost endorsed [Not Newt Gingrich] In the Republican Presidential Primary, but following that candidate’s withdrawal from the race, he endorsed Ron Mitter.

In April 2013, Kost controversially voted for an expansion of background checks for gun purchases, breaking with the majority of his party and contending that the measures would go a long way in preventing mass incidents of violence in the future. In response, the NRA threatened to pull support from the Senator in any future endeavors, though the tensions between the two parties were largely resolved following a closed door meeting with Kost and the President of the NRA himself that was described as “productive”. Kost currently bears a B - rating from the NRA.

In March 2015, Kost and other Republicans, proposed a tax plan which, according to The Wall Street Journal, combined thinking from "old-fashioned, Reagan-era supply siders" and a "breed of largely younger conservative reform thinkers" who are concerned with the tax burden on the middle-class. Kost’s largest contribution to the bill was the establishment of a 3,000$ child tax credit, a credit that Kost views as one of the best ways to “reach out to those needy families that could use a helping hand instead of a boot on the neck.”

Going into late 2015, there was widespread speculation that Kost was considering a run for the Presidency. This would turn out not to be the case, with Kost ruling out a run in May 2015, claiming that he “still had work to do” for the state of Florida. He would seek reelection and face off against Congressman Dan Rockwell in the general election, in a race that narrowed as election day drew nearer. Kost endorsed [Not Rubio] in the republican presidential primary, but reluctantly threw his support behind Arnold Wolf as the field narrowed and the nomination was secured. Following the leaking of the controversial Wolf Tape, Kost sat in on a meeting between high ranking members of the Republican Party in which removing Wolf from the ticket was discussed. Kost openly advised against the idea, along with many others present, and adopted a policy of “Nothing nice to say, say nothing” in regards to the Wolf Campaign. There was minor controversy after Kost’s younger brother, by now a successful businessman, donated a large sum of money to the [Not Hillary] Campaign, with an implication that it was at the direction of Kost being floated in circles hostile to the candidate. The campaign itself was relatively smooth barring external forces, though things got ugly when Rockwell accused Kost of exploiting people’s economic anxieties in a manner similar to Wolf over the course of his tenure in the General Election debate. On election night, Wolf won out, securing 50.7% of the vote compared to Rockwell’s 46.6%.

On December 13, after President-elect Wolf announced his pick for Secretary of State in the incoming administration, Kost expressed concerns with the selection. On January 11, Kost thoroughly questioned the nominee during a Senate hearing, but would ultimately vote in favor of the nominee.

In April 2017, Kost made headlines when he implied that President Wolf should have gone further in his strikes against the Syrian Regime in response to chemical weapons attacks against his own people, calling for the “structural decapitation” of the Assad Regime. Kost defended the remarks on cable news, calling the regime “barbaric and evil” and making it known that he views the Syrian Dictator as “a menace to global society.”

In the first session of the 115th United States Congress, Kost was ranked the twenty-fourth most bipartisan Senator by the Bipartisan Index.

In 2018, while ballots were being counted in a close Florida Senate race between a Democratic incumbent and the Republican challenger, Kost publicly shut down conspiracy theories regarding a democratic plot to steal the seat away from the challenger, arguing that election officials "have been very clear they are here to make sure every vote is counted." Kost has been an outspoken critic of conspiracy theories, particularly those on the right, and has recently gone viral after disparaging anti-vaccination activists, saying “These people… they think they’re helping their kids… they’re putting them at risk, they’re effectively pro-diseasers... rather than rational investigators.”

It is now 2019, and rumors are swirling that the Senator from Florida may make the jump into the foray of Presidential politics and run for the highest office in the land in Wolf does not pursue a second term. The Senator’s office has not confirmed or denied this, but several domain names have been purchased and job openings posted that would lead one to believe that a Presidential campaign could well be on its way.

Biography: Born on 2 June 1953 in Seattle, Washington as Anne Rose Murphy to Catholic family of Irish ancestry. Her mother Rose Murphy (nee Lynch) was an accountant. Her father Frank Murphy served in World War II as a Navy Lieutenant before retiring and becoming a football coach at Garfield High School. Caldwell is a second generation Washingtonian. Showing a degree of idependence Murphy started working part-time as a waiter at the age of 16. She graduated the Ingraham High School, before earning her J.D. at the University of Washington.

Due to her father's poor health, result of his war service, Anne's interest in issues facing veterans originated early in her life. Later in her life she would also take a keen interest in healthcare making the two her signature policies.

Anne Caldwell was elected to the Washington House of Representatives in 1982 at the age of 29. An extensive door-knocking effort was an important part of her campaign. Her campaign drew attention for her passionate, grassroots support. She would remain in that position until 1988 when Jim Highry, the five-term Representative for Washington's 7th Congressional district, would decide not to seek re-election choosing to run for the U.S. Senate instead, unsuccessfully. Over the course of her campaign she endorsed a number of pieces of legislation most notably the Department of Veterans Affairs Act. Caldwell ran for the seat winning with 72% of the vote. She would serve as Representative until 2012 when she decided to run for the Governorship. During her tenure as Representative Caldwell distinguished herself as a progressive politician having supported the [not-Clinton] health care plan of 1993, the Brady Bill, as well as opposing the Patriot Act and the War in Iraq. She also fought for the Violence Against Women Act. In her latter years in the House she voiced her support for banking reform and was an early advocate for the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. On 13 November 2011 she announced she would not be seeking re-election, deciding to run for the Governor of Washington.

Caldwell faced an uphill battle in the gubernatorial election, especially during it's early stages when her opponents tried to accuse her of "playing (or being) a broken record". This coupled with the Democratic vote being fairly evenly split in early polling created a real threat of a Republican winning the blanket primary. Using her strong ground game Caldwell was able to gain an advantage over her strongest Democratic challenger in subsequent months, leading to him dropping out and endorsing her. Caldwell eventually emerged victorious from the blanket primary facing a number of Republican and Independent candidates as well as one Democratic challenger winning 46% of the vote. In the general election she faced off against Republican Gary Ferguson. Polling indicated a close race and the Republican opponent would not concede the election until the evening after it took place. Caldwell became the third woman in the history of the State of Washington and second in a row to serve as Governor.

Anne Caldwell won the governor's mansion on a liberal platform. Before being elected she campaigned for the legalization of same-sex marriage and urged the voters to approve Senate Bill 6239 in a state-wide referendum. During her first term as Governor she faced a divided state legislature with a Republican controlled Senate and Democratic-controlled House which failed to pass a budget in early 2013. After a long battle Caldwell signed a bipartisan budget in June 2013. In August 2013 Caldwell issued a moratorium on capital punishment in which she expressed her opposition to the practice. She attempted to ban the practice, but was blocked by the Republican-controlled Senate. The practice would be eventually abolished on October 11, 2018 by a ruling of the state Supreme Court.

Caldwell won re-election in 2016 with 55% of the vote. During her second term she shifted her focus towards education and environment. Using public pressure Caldwell was able to avoid a partial shutdown of state government and secured funding for free meals for children in public schools. After securing a Democratic majority in both chambers of state legislature in late 2017, Caldwell led the effort to pass a bill that vacated and expunged past marijuana convictions. In 2018 she signed an executive order that prohibited the usage of solitary confinement for youth. In late 2018 Caldwell signed a bill that outlined the reduction of carbon emissons over the next 20 years that included greater investment in green energy and infrastructure for electric cars.

Caldwell served as the chair of the Democratic Governors Association during the 2018 midterm cycle during which Democrats gained 7 governorships nation wide.

Caldwell is considered as a potential candidate for President of the United States in the 2020 election.

Murphy met her future husband Henry O. Caldwell, then a college basketball player, during her time at the UW. He would later on become an environmental advocate. The two have three children: two daughters, Maria and Patricia, and one son, John.
