Sunshine and Roses

High Queen Nesaenna Padishah and her husband Irelin have just announced her pregnancy! Not much is known about it, only that they appear to be triplets, could it be another Aellyrian triumvirate? we at the Aellyrian Globe are excited for these three new additions to the royal household.

In other news, slavery has been put back on the books as a judicial punishment and all current prisoners are being conditioned for such employment immediately, it will surely aid the economy in this period of growth.

RUSSIAN GAZETTE:
"NEW RUSSIA" MANIFESTO;TSARINA UNVEILS FIRST FEW CHAPTERS OF THE "RUSSIAN CONSTITUTION"

Moscow
Since recently and historically been marked as the beginning of a "New Russia" by Catherine V, tsarina of Rurik Russia, government officials had been busy racking up the plans in conjunction with the "new era", ranging from government policies, its economical stability, its military and eventually, the people. However, they are no match against the spirit and anticipation of hopeful Russian citizens, betting all their hopes on the tsarina and her bureaucracy regarding their hinted developments and reforms in favour of the Russian state and people.

Last night, in a special event attended by the tsarina, government officials and Russian party leaders, the tsarina, elegantly dressed in black unveils the first few chapters of the "Russian Constitution" which had since confirmed the theory of the formation of a constitutional based government. In the tsarina's own words, Her Majesty said, "The first few chapters is comprised of the basic underlining of government functions, separation between the state and church, and the rights of freedom".Also present are anxious journalists, political analysts and alike, seen tentatively jotting down the every words that she spoke. However, the event was majorly successful but failed to adress the questions. Will the tsarina be a fully or semi constitutional monarch once the constitution is ratified? And what it would be for the tsarina's long standing autocratic power, held in an unchallenged manner for decades.

The Princess of Éirea accused of Murder!

Cece, Princess of Éirea places under arrest just two days after her husband, the late Prince of Éirea’s funeral

Shock and horror sweeps the nation! The wrath of a mourning mother and a grieving widow come to blow! In a turn of events no one could have seen coming Cece, the Princess of Éirea has been arrested for murder, more specifically, the murder of her husband, Prince Arthur. According to reports released, Prince Arthur was poisoned, afflicted by a chemical agent transfer through his skin. Cece has been deemed the main suspect as the location of were the poison was transferred were on the lips and ‘local known between intimate partners’. The Prince was found in the Princess and Prince’s bedroom. Witnesses who for the moment have remained anonymous stated that the night that Prince Arthur died, he and Cece did get into a heated argument in which the princess admitted to be conducting an affair. The Princess then left the couple’s Sandersfield home only to return some time later and Prince was found dead in their bedroom.

Investigator Mariah Kase made an official statement that Her Royal Highness is not subject to the Sovereign Immunity that protects the Queen and was arrested by Anglo-Dutch officers and security outside of St. George’s Chapel. As Cece was in the presence of the Queen, she was not allowed to be handcuffed and had to be escorted away to jail. Do to her position, the Princess is currently separated from the other prisoners and do to the severity of her crime is being held without bail. The current theory is that the Princess, fearful of what Arthur might do, or wishing to marry her mysterious, as of yet unknown lover, decided to assassinate her husband. This cold and calculating plan however, doesn’t seem to match the personality of the Princess of Éirea, and yet looks can be deceiving.

Things are not made better at Wattingham Palace, where the grieving Empress of the Dutch and her husband have taken up camp, reportedly much to the annoyance of the Queen. The Dutch Empress has turned her sorrow into wrath, demanding that Cece be handed over to her to face justice in Amsterdam, as she is accused of murdering a Dutch Prince. It shook be noted that the last man who shot, but did not kill, a Dutch prince was brutally and publicly tortured in a stadium for over 12 hours. Fearing a fate such as this for Cece, the Queen has refused, citing that Cece is only accused, not confirmed, that Arthur was nationalized as a precursor to his marriage and that the crime took place in Great Hyruke. Talks between the two monarchs are still going on, but a notable absence is that of the Queen’s right-hand woman, Marie of Wied, who seems to have pulled a vanishing act the moment Anna Charlotte arrived. And yet she is not a suspect. Some suspect other players involvement, but who else but Cece could have carried out this heinous act? And who is the mysterious love that she would do this for?

Princess Ariana lays stone for Prince Arthur Memorial!

Even as Anglo-Dutch tensions rise in heat over the murder of Prince Arthur by his wife, the imprisoned Princess Cece and the fight between the Empress and Queen Caroline of Great Hyruke over under who’s jurisdiction this shocking and horrible case falls, there was some sense of honor to Prince Arthur’s memory as his younger sister, Princess Ariana laid the first stone of the Prince Arthur Memorial, a project that was agreed upon before the prince’s state funeral and is expected to take eight months to complete.

In the tearful breaking ground ceremony, Princess Ariana, along with all her siblings attended the beginning of construction of the memorial set to honor Arthur and his successful military career, as well as a faithful and kind husband and father. Also in attendance were Prince Alexandre of the Netherlands, Grand Duke Nukai of Roskov and Prince Jonatan of Racraigua, with the three princes consoling the three sisters of the late Prince Arthur. The Grand Duke was seen handing Princess Ariana a bouquet of flowers and helped escort her to her car after the ceremony was over.

There was no statement from any of the Royals about the investigation into the murder of Prince Arthur and Princess Cece’s rôle as the only and prime suspect.

Julian Blackthorn Arrested amongst calls for Increased Monitoring!

Image

Julian Blackthorn, second son of Prime Minister Andrew Blackthorn

ImageSHARE THIS: Image Image Image Image

Cornelius Blackthorn (
@CorneilusBlackthorn)
5 April 2088 | Londres, Great Hyruke

A terrible injustice, a total miscarriage of the law unfolds before the horrified eyes of the Hyrukian people as Julian Blackthorn was unfairly arrested by forces falling nominally under the Queen, but in truth, as we all know, from the vengeful poison of the Dutch Empress. This illegal seizure of Mr. Blackthorn, who has no previous criminal record and has, by all accounts been an upstanding citizen of this fair nation, came after evidence was oh so conveniently produced linking him to the Princess of Éirea. This is the point where it should be pointed out that this is an outrageous point to stand on. Mr. Blackthorn and Princess Cece have been known to be friends for years.

This sudden accusation that Julian and Cece have been conducting an affair is unfounded and the idea that they plotted together to assassinate Prince Arthur, the late Prince of Éirea is laughable. Julian Blackthorn couldn’t hurt a fly, must less organize or be apart of an elaborate design to kill a man. And yet, as a victim of the Dutch Empress’s wrath, he is unfairly imprisoned for a crime he did not commit based on the idea of an affair he did not have! The Prime Minister must be as horrified as you dear reader to have this shameful witch hunt conducted on a member of such a respectable family.

Meanwhile, amongst this travesty of justice, member of Parliament, Astrid Parker-Lee called for an interest in the budget for the Her Majesty’s Security System, allowing for Cercle to host a live streaming of every Hyrukian citizen 24 hours a day everyday, without breaks, all opened to public access. This is an even more transparent version of the system that Cercle has in place currently. The current system has privacy settings and protection edits in regards to public figures and private citizens. Parker-Lee’s proposal would remove all privacy settings for everyone, and forbid edits or the ability to turn it off.

“This ability to hide from the public eye has been abused!” An impassioned Parker-Lee said before Parliament, “murder was committed under the nose of the Crown, what other crimes could people be hiding. We live in a democracy do we not? The people can only make accurate decisions if they know everything. It is a matter of safety, of security! People are safest when there are others to watch out for them. If we eliminate this veils that can be pulled across crimes, we can do so much good. Criminals will have nowhere to hide. Citizens will be saved faster and efficiently. No one will ever have to find themselves alone, for We will always be watching!”

Resignation in wake of Daring Escape!

Image

The Duke of Alicante and Julian Blackthorn made a shocking escape from Great Hyruke

ImageSHARE THIS: Image Image Image Image

Anna Lee (
@AnnaLee)
7 April 2088 | Londres, Great Hyruke

A series of arrests secure the nation in the wake of the shocking escape of domestic terrorist, Julian Blackthorn with Infante Charles, Duke of Alicante along with a third accomplice from Canvey Island Airport. And with this fleeing of the country, comes a much needed change in the government with the announcement of the resignation of Andrew Blackthorn.

It all started two days ago in the hours after the arrest of hoodlum and co-conspiratorial paramour to Princess Cece in the murder of Prince Arthur. Russen Ambassador Ryndina was soon batting down the palace door with the visiting Grand Duke in tow. Her protest? Julian could not be held hostage by Anglo-Dutch forces in regards to a murder that this was no evidence he was connected to. On what grounds? Julian Blackthorn, son of Prime Minister Andrew Blackthorn is not a Hyrukian citizen, but a Russen one.

Julian Blackthorn was born in Saint Petersburg in 2066 whilst his parents were visiting the city, making him a Russen citizen by birth. Andrew Blackthorn, then Ambassador to Espana, took Julian there, where they remained until eventually returning to Great Hyruke in 2069. As Hyrukian citizenship for those born abroad is only transferable through a Hyrukian mother, of which Julian lacks, he is a Russen citizen. After much mediated by the Grand Duke between the Queen, the Dutch Empress and Ambassador Ryndina, it was agreed that Julian would be deported, and he was taken to the Russen Embassy while an official dispatch was sent to the Tsarina in Moskva.

This however didn’t sit well with the Dutch Empress and even as Julian was being directed to the Russen Embassy for holding, the actions of the Dutch Empress’s agent kicked into high gear. Yesterday, hours after Julian had been moved into Russen custody but before a response could be sent to Londres, the Dutch Empress’ agency delivered what might have been the killing blow. Julian Blackthorn’s Mother, Francine Blackthorn, was a Dutch citizen, and following Dutch Nationality Law Julian classified as a Dutch citizen.

Anglo-Dutch forces were prepared to seize Julian Blackthorn from the Russen Embassy, and without Grand Duke Nukai, who’d departed for Derita earlier that afternoon, Ambassador Ryndina gave way, only for all parties to be shocked to find Julian Blackthorn missing. With a great swaying by MP Parker-Lee, the usage of Cercle drones was authorized and soon Julian Blackthorn was located in the car of Infante Charles, Duke of Alicante, a known friend of his and former boyfriend of Princess Cece. A chase as made, but thanks in no smart part in the delaying of authorization, the two young men escaped via Canvey Island Airport on a small jet piloted by a third party.

Shortly afterwards, Cornelius Blackthorn, the inflamed journalist whose view have been tainted by his relationship with his brother was arrested in his Londres home. Helena Blackthorn, younger sister of Cornelius and Julian was also taken into custody for questioning about Julian and Alicante’s whereabouts. Other associates of Julian Blackthorn and the Duke of Alicante, now also considered to be a co-conspirator, have been arrested including Pamala Harrow, Ida Griggson, Samuel Dereham and Victor Conningwood. The Duchess of Wied too has come under further suspicion, on the fact that her son has fled the country.

The line however has been drawn at the Duchess it seems. With the Dutch Royals, who have been camped out at Wattingham Palace for nearly two weeks now, being expelled from the residence and taking to occupying the luxury suites of the Ponadella Hotel. Princess Cece has been placed under constant guard in the wake of the escape of her co-conspirators in murder and the proposal of MP Parker-Lee is set to be put to a vote by Parliament on the 12th of April.

Starfleet Deploys Three New Resiliant Class Vessels to Earth Orbit

Kiara Vanic
Image

The space in high Earth Orbit was filled with an unexpected amount of activity and traffic today, as a large crowd of vessels formed to see the arrival of three new vessels over the planet. These were no ordinary vessels, as they were three ships of a new design, which had been revealed at the Festival of Enlightenment, over New Boston. However the ship had been suspected as having been built as a concept or technology demonstrator, however this deployment erases any possibility of this being the case, as the three Resiliant Class vessels docked at the local Starfleet outpost, and later began participating in routine patrols. While the admiralty has stated that this deployment is simply a normal deployment, it is worth noting that this does seem to come after the events unfolding in Hyruke. There are those who suspect that perhaps these ships have been deployed as a percaution, rather than as a simple, routine assignment, and the deployment of a wing of these ships would seem to confirm this, as this was clearly not meant to be a revealing of the vessel, but rather a silent, but openly visible deployment, indicating that there may have been a very good reason for the ships having so suddenly been assigned to the area. However these speculations are just that, speculations, and there is no current evidence besides Coincidence that there is any ulterior motive behind these ships.

Suicide in Aellyria!

Breaking news, both High Queen Nesaenna Padishah and her husband have killed themselves. An investigation is currently being launched by the First Estate as well as the Royal Investigations Unit into what could have possibly gone wrong. It is well known that the Queen and her family have long suffered from mental disorders, however she seemed to have escaped the illness that ran so throughly in her family. We have tried to get commentary from either her son or nephew. However the First Estate has closed ranks around the last of the young royals and no one has been allowed to talk to them. A spokesperson for the House of Aeylgarn has said that while the destruction of House Padishah greatly saddens the two young children they are still processing their grief over this terrible loss.

In other news, many of the Thule nobility is being put under arrest for suspected involvement in the suicide of the two royals. How one could be involved in a suicide is perplexing to say the least.

The Ungarbergs move to Aellyria! Or at least a few of them. Lead by Princess Marie Luisa, a small contingent of the illustrious Ungarberg Dynasty arrives in Aellyria not long after the sudden and unexpected tragic death of Queen Nesaenna of Aellyria and her nonhuman partner in a twin case of suicide. The reason, to safeguard the childhood of the young King Andreas and his cousin, Prince Erik. The forty-nine year old princess who was previously a well decorated admiral in her native Polonge has taken on the mantle of guardian of the two orphaned princes. In an official statement, it was stated that “it is with a heavy bit open heart that I come to provide His Majesty and His Highness the care and attention of a mother that was snatched away from them by the actions of one woman and a nonhuman.”

The Princess is joined by her younger brother, the forty-six year old Prince Nicholas and his family, his wife Princess Elizabeth, and his son and daughter Prince Palkó and Princess Clementina. Together they form a friendly household alongside the newly reinstated House of Aeylgarn. Whilst they have reframed from saying thing more on the matter of their move to Aellyria other than they are “here to support My sister [Princess Marie Luisa] and to provide friendship to the young royals” there is rumor of an arrangement, though no official details have yet been announced.,

Sierra Parker-Lee is ascendant as she rises to the office of Prime Minister of Great Hyruke following the success of the vote on her proposal to expand the powers and responsibilities of the government and the Cercle in the constant and transparent monitoring system of everyone in Great Hyruke. Parker-Lee has proudly lead the way in this brave new world that we all live in, with her public and personal life being available for constant live stream, which she has used to have a closer connect with her constituents and the general populace.

Meanwhile the search continues for fugitive domestic and international terrorists Julian Blackthorn and the Duke of Alicante. Whilst Princess Cece remains under guard till her impending court date, Hyrukian and Dutch force’s are working in tandem in the search for the co-conspirators of the assassination of Prince Arthur. A nationwide search has been allowed for Russlande, authorized by the Tsarina personally, though there are questions if the two ever arrived in the Russen Empire. They will however be found by any means.

The First Estate names a Regent of House Aeylgarn

The First Estate, Aellyria's main governing body with the untimely demise of the Queen and her husband, have named a regent for the young Holy Emperor Andreas Aeylgarn. It has been announced that the Baron Veyrnis will be stepping down from his role as Speaker of the First Estate in order to properly represent the young Aeylgarn as his legal representitve in all governmental roles until he has reached the age of majority and is crowned Emperor. In other news, much to the distress of the people, and even some lower nobility, the First Estate has also announced the conversion of Aellyrias state religion from its native religion to that of Catholicism, while people will not be prevented from worshiping the old gods of Aellyria, it will no longer be the state religion of the Holy Empire. Baron Veyrnis is being quoted as saying, "We have become a holy state, in ways that the old gods could never have provided, we now stand united under the one true God and will crown our Emperor one day as the one truly devine leader of our great nation." Baron Veyrnis will work closely with the Gaurdian of the Royal Household Princess Marie Luisa Ungarberg who will be raising both the Holy Emperor and his cousin the Prince Erik Aeylgarn. The Baron says he has every confidence that one with such qaulifications as the Princess Marie Luisa will be a fine governess for the two young boys. We of Aellyria can only hope that she is as perfect as the First Estate promises.

Exclusive: We speak to Princess Charlotte!

Image

Back in blonde, we spoke to Charlotte in our Lausanne studio - you can also watch this interview online!

ImageSHARE THIS: Image Image Image Image

Philippe Ricard (
@RoyalsLife_Ricard)
May 8 2088 | Lausanne, Switzerland

Royals Life Connuriste today brings you an exclusive interview with Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte, who recently has been raising money for the less fortunate of our global society by hosting sporting events. Earlier this year, for example, she put on and even took part the first 24 hours race held at the Swiss Super Speedway, a racing circuit in the countryside funded by her father, His Imperial Majesty Connor II. The proceeds from ticket sales to spectators went towards raising money for Atmoran refugees, as did the advertising revenue generated from the televisation of the event. There was a prize fund for contestants generated from Charlotte’s own pocket (though the major prize was indeed the bragging rights from being the first to win such a race at the circuit), Charlotte and her team - which included King Enrikos of Cinyras and Prince Roderic of Racraigua in addition to reigning Swiss Touring Cars champion Benoît Bailly - even donated their winnings to those Atmorans in need, after they managed to claim victory in the inaugural endurance event at the racetrack. We caught up with her shortly in the aftermath of this, asking her questions both broad in scope and topical to her recent spectacle.

I = Interviewer
C= Charlotte

I: What inspired you to host such an event?

C: Well, to tell the truth, I have always been one to enjoy competition. Not being an established racing driver myself, I thought the best way to be able to partake would be to sponsor such an event itself. I do have some treasured friends from Atmora, and I hoped that with the added good cause, more interest would be generated – you know, we could all have our fun AND do it for a good cause.

I: I must admit, you didn’t strike me as a race driver.

C: Why not? I like to think that most people are multi-faceted. One of the many useful things I learnt in the armed forces was the skill of combat driving, so it’s a bit of an unorthodox background for a track driver but I felt confident that I could give it a go. I enjoy trying most new things, this was no exception.

I: I suppose I see where you are coming from. After all, you do have somewhat of a reputation for being a thrill seeker.

C: (laughs) Anything that makes the heart race, it makes me feel alive. And I am fortunate enough to have the ability to try my hand at most things that take my fancy.

I: Could you tell me about some of the other sporting activities you particularly enjoy?

C: Oh, with pleasure. I remember the first time I jumped out of a plane – it was a really fun and incredible experience. I was going to say you kind of get used to it, and that’s not exactly true, but it’s never again quite like the first time. At the moment I’ve been enjoying freediving and cliffdiving, but every couple of months I’m usually doing something different for fun. Right now, for example, I wonder if racing spaceships is a thing that anyone does.

I: They sound quite dangerous!

C: Yes, and that’s definitely part of what draws me to them. I’m not sure who said it first, but very little worth having or doing comes easy. Without some risk you’d never get the adrenaline in your system.

I: Oh, I’m not the same kind of person, but I respect it. That must be part of why you are indeed cut out for the armed forces.

C: I guess so, but my main motivation in doing that was duty to our country. People in my family get to enjoy a lot of benefits because of the role we play here, so I do think we should make an effort to make ourselves useful. And of course, on the other hand, people also do target us because of our position, as you can see a few times in recent history. I would much rather trust myself to defend myself than anyone else, because I can control my own actions and not those of another.

I: That makes sense. Going back to the race, some people criticised the spectacle, saying that appropriate health and safety rules we are used to in established motorsports weren’t fully abided by. Would you have anything to say about that?

C: Everyone who took part knew exactly what they were signing up for. And actually, I think a lot of sports entertainment has been diluted for far too long. If these people can make millions from such activities, then there should be at least some kind of danger to make them earn it. In the past twenty five years in our country we have only had one fatal crash in all of legal motorsports. That says to me that they are more than safe. And I think the regulations can sometimes get too excessive, to the detriment of both the competitive aspect of the sport and the entertainment aspect. It is difficult to ask someone to be at the peak of their competitive game and then also ask them to not go all out. I think at the end of the day all we need to ensure is that no cheating occurs and that no-one deliberately injures or wrecks or other competitors. Everything else should be fair game. If people do not like it, they do not have to watch or take part. That doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t be allowed to do things that they want to. There are many things I do not like and do not agree with, that doesn’t mean I seek to restrict them.

I: Wow, it’s really clear you feel passionately about that. Does that intend you mean to host more events in the future?

C: Hopefully yes, and not just limited to motorsport but a lot of other ones as well. But we will see, I also have a lot of other things to do. It’s not exactly like I am a socialite who does whatever they please, I have many other projects and responsibilities.

I: Ooh, any of those particularly exciting that you can share with us?

C: (laughs) Not right now at this time. That would be telling.

I: Fair enough! I guess you don’t want to ruin the surprise.

C: (nods)

I: Alright Charlotte, thanks for your time. It’s been a pleasure. Maybe this won’t be the last time we share a conversation?

C: Who knows? We shall see.

I: Oh, and congratulations on your victory! And on raising millions for those less fortunate than ourselves!

C: (smiles) Thanks! Perhaps they are the first of many? Both victories and raising millions for good causes, of course.

I: Well, whether everyone approves or not, we at Royals Life would love to see more of it.

C: (laughs) I’m sure you would.

This concluded our short time with the delightful Princess Charlotte, if you'd like to read more about her in Royals Life please let us know and we'll do our best to bring you another interview soon!

Princess Marié Thérèse commits 95 million dérrals to Makonian Refugees

Princess Marié Thérèse has always dreamed of being a humanitarian

Charity is in the air. Princess Marié Thérèse, granddaughter of the King-Emperor was reported to have committed Nearly a hundred million dérrals to the cause of helping aid those who continue to find themselves in the midst of one of the worse humanitarian crisis in recent history. For nearly five years down, millions of Makonians have been forced to flee their homeland in order to escape horrible acts of violence and tyranny by their despotic authoritarian government, just one in a wave of frightening rising authoritarian sentiments across the continent and the globe. Derita has notably been one of the few safe havens for the Makonians, with many of their neighbors having closed off their borders and ports, forcing many to have to brave the oceanic crossing to Derita, praying for rescue. Whilst the moderate administration of Variés the Younger continues to support the providing of asylum, internal efforts to help the refugees have been stifled, with the Duke of Alençon being their greatest champion. That is until now, as Princess Marié Thérèse steps ont on the scene.

After touring through the streets of the Massalia neighborhood of Hara Hills in Massalia nicknamed nowadays as “Little Makonia” or “Little Bagata”, the Princess was shocked by the disconnect levels between the Makonian refugees and the native Deritain citizenship. Whilst the Duke of Alençon had done a great job of helping tens, maybe even hundreds of thousands of the first wave of refugees five years ago, the sheer amount and time that this crisis has been going on has been too much for one man. Not, perhaps, for one woman. Once again returning to the streets and allies of Hara Hills, Princess Marié Thérèse gave Royals Life an interview as she laid out her stand on her quest for helping the millions in desperate need of aid.

“The situation in Makonia and its diaspora goes beyond the plight of the fleeing refugees. We cannot forget the victims in Makonia who have been displaced from their homes due to the on-going oppression and threat of violence in the country.” Marié Thérèse said as she lead our camera crews through the narrow alleyways were Deritain and Makonian flags had been hung together.

“That’s not to say that the plight of these good people should ever be downplayed. We have granted them asylum and thus it becomes our responsibility to make sure they are treated well and fairly. And it that regard, I think some in government have failed us. Thus it is my duty as a princess of this nation to fix that.” She said showing us to a small courtyard that buzzed with Makonian activity as women made their way to a single fountain that provided water for this section of the neighborhood.

“Many of resources of Derita are well adapt to provide her citizens comfort and luxury,” the Princess continued, “ but quickly become overburdened in situations like this. Thus, our aid will improve living conditions in communities like this, by repairing shelter and water and hygiene infrastructures in order to accommodate for the influx of families. Going further, we plan on having projects will have a specific focus on prevention and response to violence that sparks in many of these culturally isolated areas.”

Changeover of Chancellors!

Sebastien Vogel (

May 11 2088 | Lausanne, Switzerland

The election results are finally in. After four and a half years of Gabrielle Tousart’s second term at the head of the Imperial Council, it is now time for former Minister of Defence Michel de Vada to step up to the position. He is the first male Chancellor since Erwin Muller, who did not manage to see out his whole term. Mr. de Vada even represents the same party as the ex-Chancellor Muller, that being the People’s Front.

Interestingly, the People’s Front have not completely wrested full control of the Imperial Council – whilst they did win the most votes, they did not secure enough to gain a majority. Members of the party negotiated throughout the night and in the morning announced a solution that shocked some voters – they have entered a coalition with the Christian Democrats, who gained the second most votes. The Christian Democrats, with the exception of Erwin Muller, have enjoyed every Chancellorship in the past twenty-five years, dating back to the late Chancellor Valen. Some may have feared that such a coalition could betray the interests of both sets of voters, though the parties in recent years have seen more or less eye to eye. Christian Democrats will still be happy that they have a part to play, and the People’s Front will be happy that they get to sit in the driving seat, their authority being validated in a sense by their alliance with a traditionally more established party.

On the topic of the Christian Democrats, outgoing Chancellor Gabrielle Tousart has returned to the backbenches, citing that she would like to focus more time on representing her own particular constituents, whereas party favourite Aurelia MacDonald surprised many when she did not run to retain any position in the council on account of wanting to have more of a private life with her husband. Former Minister of Public Services André Wenger was the primary candidate for the party during this election and on account of the new coalition he has seen himself appointed Vice Chancellor of Connuriste. He and his People’s Front colleague Michel de Vada were sworn in this morning and received Imperial Assent, paving the way for the first official Council session of the new government to take place shortly after lunchtime – a session where the new coalition found themselves in agreement with one another as soon as they might have hoped.

The topic of discussion was more or less about international relations from the start of the session, members of the council evaluating which relationships the new government is satisfied with, and which ones it was not ; an opportunity for entrepreneurial members of the council to propose the forging of new agreements with other nations. A member of the small Centrist Party took her opportunity to speak to put forward the idea that Connuriste could gain from a good relationship with Hyruke – after all, had we not been fond of them during the days of the Amsterdam Entente?

This proved to be a turning point in the council session as both the People’s Front and the Christian Democrats were eager to shoot down such an idea, equally eager to come out with their criticisms of the Hyrukian regime and system, with the Minister of Defence, Elizabeth Cole of the People’s Front the most senior and most vocal to hold the floor in the subsequent discussion.

“I do not think it would be beneficial to attempt to restore good terms with Hyruke” she began, “In fact I would be more likely to recommend the opposite. Queen Caroline has essentially handed control of her country over to a criminal, an enemy of our state. This criminal has more or less turned the nation into what is functionally a prison, and I fear that Caroline has abandoned her responsibilities to her people by doing so.”

Miss Cole was met with a room of many quiet nods, but as is usually the case in the Imperial Council, there were those willing to play devil’s advocate, questioning whether recent reactionary security policies in Hyruke are perhaps justified by genuine security threats.

“We did not do so when the Crown Princess was poisoned.” responded the Minister of Defence. “Whilst it is true that Empress Alice had reactionary policies of her own after the civil conflict, that was more to do with the war rather than individual terrorist incidents – and we must remember that as a nation we have flourished under the current freedoms we enjoy under His Imperial Majesty Connor II. It would be unfair to expect others to take the exact same course as we have, but history seems to point towards reactionary policies only creating more division, where chaotic forces can easily flourish. If Queen Caroline was so focused upon counteracting criminality, why has she given a criminal a position of power? Logically, it seems that Caroline must either be complicit in this criminality or incompetent, unless of course she is under duress. I find all three of those possibilities quite deeply disturbing – does the council not find these concerns enough to be wary of maintaining any cordial relations with our Hyrukian contemporaries?”

Whilst the Ministers previous comments had been met with predominantly quiet agreement, these were met with cheers from much of the coalition, and indeed many members of the other parties gathered.

The Minister of Defence was immediately followed by the new Vice Chancellor, André Wenger, who took the opportunity to address the council before holding a vote. “I must echo the words of Aurelia MacDonald, who three years ago did question how certain people could ever find themselves trusted with authority in a righteous nation, and highlighted how the surveillance and social credit system in Hyruke represented a grave danger to freedom and liberty. We must ourselves be willing to reiterate that such policies contradict the basic rights and freedoms that we think every person is entitled to in a modern and civilised country! We must renew the vow that the honourable ex-Chancellor made, to promise that we in Connuriste shall never become such a country where the state seeks to dictate every aspect of everyone’s life!”

The Vice Chancellor then called for a vote on whether or not to extend the diplomatic olive branch to Hyruke or not, a vote which secured a firm majority for not doing so. After this vote, the session continued, lingering on the same topic for a while as the newly appointed Minister of Public Services, Marion Girard, proposed a further development.

“As members of the League of Harmony, it may be worth thinking about bringing these issues forward to the international table and raising them formally. When someone wanted in connection with a terrible crime has a position of power in another country, it is quite advisable to seek assistance. If the League is indeed serious about the maintenance of peace and doing what is right we can hope that they might assist us in finding a course of action and taking it. Otherwise, should the League reveal itself to be yet another ineffective organisation that does little except maintain the status quo, we ought to seriously evaluate our membership of such an institution.”

It was decided that the topic would be raised by our representatives to the League of Harmony the next time the League convenes, which was also the final act of the new governments opening council session.

As always, CBC will bring you more news of what happens daily in the Imperial Council, as well as more news about pretty much everything else you can think of too! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

It is truly laughable that they call themselves ‘Great’ Hyruke. And we all thought the Deritains had delusions of grandeur.

Marie of Wied Arrested!
Queen Caroline throws down the gauntlet to the League!

Anna Lee (

12 May 2088 | Londres, Great Hyruke

Queen Caroline, beset by enemies on all fronts, with the greatest of enemies being abroad has meet them a stark and dangerous challenge. And her people, with a furious uproar.

Marie of Wied, or the Duchess of Wied, has been chief advisor to Queen Caroline for nearly five years and has been credited with the security monitoring system that protects the nation and connects the millions of citizens of Great Hyruke. She has also been accused of nebulous crimes by the Imperial Council of Connuriste, headed by a new male Chancellor. Crimes that have marred her good name for over twenty years now. Crimes, attests the office of Her Majesty the Queen, that the Duchess did not commit. Crimes however that the accusations of, and Marie’s ever present refusal to address, has started to impact the diplomatic livelihood of the nation. And one that the Queen of Great Hyruke is determined to be done away with once and for all.

At 5:43 pm, whilst the Duchess of Wied was taking her afternoon ride on one of her prize winning horses, gifts from the Queen; an activity that has made the Duchess popular in the equestrian demographic of the nation, National Security Agents, agents that hours before were commanded by their director, that is, the Duchess of Wied, arrived. With the cameras of Cercle capturing the entire thing, live-streamed to the homes and hands of all the citizens of the country, available for rewatching, events unfolded. The Duchess of Wied stopped riding, pulling the reins of her horse to a stop before the agents that she had once held control over.

“Ladies, what is it?” The Duchess of Wied sais from atop her mount. The agents, Veronica Feron and Henrietta Wasnell approached the Duchess ashened faced and presented her with the warrant of arrest.

“This is the warrant for your arrest on behalf of Her Majesty for suspicion of omission of information and engaging in conspiracy against the the Crown and other acts defined as treason.” Feron declared.

“We have come at Her Majesty’s command to conduct you to the Tower, where you are to abide during Her Majesty’s pleasure,” Wasnell affirmed.

The Duchess of Wied, visibly shocked and stunned, calmed her horse and with her shock falling away simply responded, “If it be Her Majesty’s pleasure, then I am ready to obey.”

Assisted by a pair of grooms, the Duchess of Wied dismounted from her horse and was escorted by Feron and Wasnell to a motorcade, where she was read her rights and placed into an SUV and taken back to Londres. Arriving at the Tower, one of the few structures in the city to have survived the Merveilleux War during the fire bombing of 2019, she was escorted through the gates and taken to one of the apartments of the ancient fortress and prison. As she was being escorted into her cells, the Duchess of Wied spoke to one of the guard, declaring:

“Beware, for you shall find I shall leave this place vindicated, and those who wished for my fall shall only see me the most happy.”

When the guard attempted to usher her inside however, the Duchess of Wied fainted, collapsing in her arms. She came too moments later and was half carried into the prison and sealed inside.

The dramatic arrest of the closest of the Queen’s advisors was not alone, as other members of Her Majesty’s inner circle found themselves similarly arrested, including Andrew Blackthorn for suspicion of conspiracy. The Queen, in one swift action she has dismantled the establishment that for years had seemed so firmly in place around her? And why? As a direct challenge to those who would dare to question her authority in Great Hyruke. From her office in Wattingham Palace, the Queen addressed not only her citizens and subjects, but also the forces foreign and domestic that have so mistakenly questioned her sovereignty and the determination of her people. Seated at at her desk, she looked directly into the camera, her eyes looking into those of the viewers, the same eyes that over see every movement around the nation and watches over as our great protector.

“For forty-four years We have governed Great Hyruke. We took the mantle of Queen, as the ruler of the Hyrukian people when We were but a girl and Hyruke was but an infant in the wake of a rebirth. We and the nation have grown together in those forty-four years, in times of strife and in times of prosperity. We have remained loyal only to our people, for who We consider in all things We do. To suggest any other motivation is to ignore and to slander Our good name and Our overwhelming love to Our people. Every sacrifice We have made has been for the security and happiness of Our citizens. Our counterparts abroad seem to forget that Hyruke throughout the years is a nation of democracy, with the powers to make decisions resting entirely in the hands of the people. And never more so than now, as the opinions of all nationals is open into the largest public form in the galaxy. We have been called paranoid and reclusive, vicious slurs that were used to defame Our father, the late King Peter, and Our Mother, the late Queen Jenna the Second; as well as disconnected with Our nation, and yet We are at the beck and call to act in service of everyone of Our nation at all hours of the day. Tell Us, how quickly one citizen can video call the Emperor of Connuriste. In Hyruke it takes seconds. Our lives are not separated from public and private. One can easily watch Our every movement. Our greatest strength is transparency of governance for Our people. How may one hide behind clear glass? And yet that is the accusation laid at our feet. We face enemies who pound on our door steps for the head of a woman they claim We have been harboring with either ignorance or through malicious intent. They dare to question the very sovereignty of Great Hyruke. As to them, allow for me to make one thing absolutely clear. There is but one Queen of Great Hyruke.”

The Queen rose from her seat, placing her palms on her desk.

“If they believe that the Duchess of Wied is the She-Wolf they fear so much, We declare that she is not. So let us match this challenge. We have the Duchess of Wied in the Tower. We are ready to have her face the accusations laid before her. We call on the League to hold a tribunal, immediately and allow for the truth to be ruled.”

With this the Queen of Great Hyruke has thrown down the gauntlet at the feet of the League of Harmony to decide on the fate of Marie of Wied.

End to the Civil War!

Image
Aradiran soldiers wait on the frontline near the city of Jordan, anxiously awaiting the order to fire, circa. 2088

At 9:30 pm today on national television, King Strauser announced the official end to hostilities with the insurgent forces occupying the Northern half of Aradira. The meeting between Jahak Delur, the de facto president of the Rising Sun faction, and King Strauser was scheduled to be streamed live tomorrow at 12:40 AM. A temporary ceasefire has been signed until then, and the frontline sits anxious and tightly-strung, with thousands of soldiers still waiting for the order to fire once again. King Strauser made a public statement concerning the recent famine wreaking havoc on the border, stating that "The grand famine along the border will hopefully end soon. If the Rising Sun agrees to a peace agreement, we may yet be able to stabilize the border."

Several programs such as Helping Hands and Aircruise Supply Corporation have stepped up to aid those dying on the border, sending several packages of food and blankets, bottled water, tools, and medicine to the border by plane and truck, risking the dangers of insurgent fire and old IEDs and government mines to deliver supplies to the worst off cities, like Urak or Denma, both of which are currently in ruins after several orbital bombardments against Insurgent occupation. Medical convoys have also begun making passes along the border and one can only hope the situation will not deteriorate further.

Austeirese Archduke put back in their place

In our nation, it is usually considered good form to not try and preach to others about issues you do not understand yourself. Today the Imperial Council echoed this sentiment, in response to Archduke Conrad von Hohenburg’s comments about the League of Harmony’s trial of Marie of Wied.

The archduke in question made his disapproval of the trial clear, offering Marie a refugee visa to Austeira where he claimed she would be treated as a personal guest of the crown and free to move about the country as she wished until the accusations made against her were rescinded. It can only be assumed that the Archduke is trying desperately to say something controversial to make him somewhat relevant, either that or he is still a firm believer in the archaic belief that royalty should never be questioned nor held accountable for the things they do.

The issue was raised in the session of council this morning, where it was discussed briefly by those present.

“Should the Archduke actually make good on his offer and actually harbour Marie from the League of Harmony, we must be ready to respond.” said Elizabeth Cole, Minister of Defence. “Of course, the League must have its own discussion about it should something such as this take place, but the League is not responsible for forming our own foreign policy, which we must do so ourselves.”

Miss Cole was backed up with some decidedly more vitriolic words for the council member who represents the village of Grindelwald in the Bernese Alps. Jacques Hubert had this to say.

“To be fair, an insignificant and politically unstable place such as Austeria would be a perfect place for Marie to go down to and wrap her tendrils around the leadership of yet another nation.”

The brief discussion was brought to a close by the Vice Chancellor, who said that further discussion would take place if, and only if, such a series of events did unfold. In his closing statement, he issued a stern warning.

“Unless the Archduke wishes for us to interfere in his business, then he should not try and interfere in ours.”

Princess Marié Thérèse welcomes the Queen of Kegara

May 19 2088 | Fontainebleau, Derita

As the state visit of Queen Nalla of Kegara to the Celestial commences, it was kicked off with a great start as the King-Emperor’s granddaughter, the lovely Princess Marié Thérèse d’Aurelians served as his formal representing to meet the visiting Queen and escort her to the Palace of Fontainebleau. The two royal women, both 26 years old were seen chatting and speaking to one another like old friends whilst the Aurelian Honor Calvary Guard, lead by Marié Thérèse’s younger brother Prince Charles d’Aurelians transported them before a series of crowds of on lookers to the home of the sovereign.

Princess Marié Thérèse, gaining international attention earlier this season for her selfless charitable work for the millions of Makonian refugees pouring into the Celestial Empire from the corrupt and tyrannical state of Makonia under its current king and Queen; was selected do to her extraordinary friendly personality. She has proven so far to be an absolutely charming darling to all that have met her. And it certainly seems that the Queen of Kegara was also pleased with the hospitality of her host and escort through our great nation.

Arriving at the Palace of Fontainebleau, Princess Marié Thérèse gave the Queen a grand tour of the palace, and for the first time, this was a foreign visit tour that allowed the press to follow them inside of the grand structure. Princess Marié Thérèse took the Queen throne the Hall of Emperors, displaying the obsidian statues of her reigning ancestors and to the famed but rarely seen Princess Alanna Garden, were the rare endemic flower, the ayana, the National flower of the Celestial Empire. In a deeply moving and traditional gesture, the Princess presented the Queen of Kegara with an ayana flower.

This symbolizes eternal peace and friendship between the Celestial Empire and Polonge, and this ceremony is so rare that this formal giving of the ayana flower is reserved for only the closest of allies of the empire, with only three nations having ever received this honor, Russlande (2015), Polonge (2018) and Gênes (2037). With Kegara being the First Nation to be presented this ceremony in fifty years, this set a great stance for the future of Deritain-Kegaran relations in the coming years. Following this ceremony, the Princess lead the Queen of Kegara to the Imperial Throne room to speak with the King-Emperor, though the privacy of Imperial manners once again fell and the press was turned back.

Princess Marié Thérèse however gave a statement for the reporters outside of Fontainebleau, stating that: “It was an honor to meet with Her Majesty, the Queen of Kegara, and I believe that we stand on the cusp of a friendship that shall last for centuries, one that will produce boundless benefits and joy for all of our people. Our greatest mission is to ensure peace and prosperity for our people and the next generation, and the next, and the next, and so forth. This is done my making the right choices for the sake of peace, of friendship and of love. We are strongest together and we are happiest when we as nations and as people can embrace one another.

A celebration is in order, the First Estate, the leading legislative body of Aellyria, has issued an order of humanitarian aid for the nation of Aradira. Congratulations are in order for Lord Urôs Marchant and his new wife, Lady Jessamine Lovelace. The couple married in a religious wedding ceremony on Saturday 25 May in the small town of Bakar in Makonia.

The bride looked stunning as she emerged from St Peter's Church, wearing a vintage-inspired ivory dress. The A-line gown featured an embroidered panel with fringe detailing, and Jessamine completed her look with a lace veil.

The pièce de résistance was her diamond tiara, which sparkled as Jessamine kissed her royal descent husband on the church steps.

The reception was held at the groom’s ancestral home, the Château de Rochebakar, which has belonged to the Marchant family since the 1930’s when it was given as a gift from King Kresimir IV. The chateau, which is open to the public, has been hailed the "Fontainebleau" of Makonia. It was a beautiful backdrop for Urôs, a great-grandson of King Jurica II and Jessamine, heiress to the prestigious Earldom of Mar.

Guests included members of Dytician and Eacusian royal families, including Antoine, the Grand Duke of Selesburge and his wife Auguste, the Grand Duchess. Antoine’s children also attended, including Prince Philippe and his wife Princess Nikolina, and the Hereditary Grand Duke Antoine of Selesburge and his wife Princess Juliet-Alexandra.

Representing the Makonia royals were Queen Charlotte, and Princess Vasnja and her husband Prince Viktor. Representing the Racraiguan Royals were Prince Roderic and his fiancée, Princess Stéphanie, who are to be married in July. Also in attendance was Scottish, Princess Adela and her husband husband Carlos, the Duke of Berwick. The Dukes of Alençon and Duke and Duchess of Connaught represented Derita and Great Hyruke respectively, serving in the wedding party.

Before celebrating their royal wedding with their guests, Jessamine and Urôs posed outside the chateau with their flower girl and pageboys. The newlyweds then gathered their family for a large group photo inside the lavish castle.

Jessamine and Urôs, who live in Adelaide, Beliany said "I do" in a civil ceremony the day before their religious service on Friday.

1Hostage Situation; Quickly resolved by the ISL!

The rain pounded against the metal train car, the Aradiran flag whipping in the torrential wind. Lightning cracked loudly outside and the crackle of the pounding rain haunted the inside of the train. Smoke billows from the smokestack in light wisps, and the lights from inside the train car were dim and flickering. If one would listen closely shouting could be heard inside, and the shadows of several men could be seen.

It was 2:00 PM, and several hours before, the train in question had been hijacked.

Eight men wearing black jackets, baclavas, jeans and kevlar vests broke into the train car at the Ymast station at 11:50 AM, and killed the four train crewmen in cold blood. Shortly after the gunshots went off the rain began to pour and the passengers within were held at gunpoint. In that crowd of hostages were the four delegates from the rebel faction and four delegates from the Royalists, meeting together for a peace conference. The bandits were quickly identified as ethnically Atacai, from the Atacomb region in Central Aradira. Opposed to the peace conference they hijacked the train.

Image
The hijacked train at 2:40 PM. Photograph taken by the Jayul Times.

It is now 4:00 PM. Two hours after the insurgents boarded the train, one of the delegates managed to secretly call the National Affairs Embassy in the City of Roses, and they immediately notified the King, who sent the Imperial Silver Legion Special Forces ( ISL-SF ) to the scene. Three squads of ISL personnel arrived at the situation which was currently being handled by the local police. Captain Karon Nightingale was sent as the commander to the situation, and a negotiator was also provided.

After a quick brief Captain Karon acted quickly. Only a few minutes after his arrival and with press recording suppressed, all terrorists were removed and the hostages rescued. Captain Karon was questioned as to where he was keeping the terrorists after the media was allowed back on the scene but no answer was given.

Dawn-Class Dreadnought released into Service!

At 3:00 PM today the government announced the recent deployment of the new ANS Aphrodite into naval service. The ship has been under development for several years, with new technologies being developed specifically for its release into service. The Aphrodite is outfitted with a new cloaking device that disguises the atomic signature of the subject to match that of its surroundings, blocking all known forms of ship detection while not physically changing the ship. The device has been nicknamed the 'Hunter's Bully' due to how difficult it is to find a subject under the effects of the AC-910 Cloak Module.

The ship is also outfitted with four new Pulse turrets, designed to weaponize light waves. By changing the atomic composure and signature and by speeding up the atoms, the gun creates a pulse into space that uses the idle matter to form rings of light, and when this ring of light collides with any object it can deal heavy damage to the ship's matter and atomic composure, disrupting it and causing the appearance of melting metal, yet the metal will be cool.

Aphrodite is also equipped with two shield modules designed to be intelligent shields. These shields have a specialized energy signature that can match most simple missiles and warheads to a specific database and move enough shield space to accurately block it, while constantly generating enough energy to keep doing this. The clear weakness is outrunning the computing system which is quite slow, but the Admiralty has already ruled out single combat using the new Dawn-Class ship.

The final new technology being tested on the Aphrodite is the LAI-90 FTL module. installed into the main engine, this module allows for the ship to use a special skill known as 'slipstream', tearing a temporary portal and allowing for the ship to warp from one are to the other in only seconds. Though this jump drive has been deemed faulty and prone to malfunctions, and the danger of being torn in two is very real.

Colonial efforts begin!

After the Grand War came to an end last night at 5:00 PM, excess population has suddenly become a problem. Due to the cloning facilities having spawned hundreds of millions of extra men over a long period of time and having more on the way, the government and the King had to find a way to settle the excess. And so the Colonization Era began.

Seventeen Colonial Carriers, carrying a total of 40 million men, women, and children each, set off towards seventeen different planets, and case files were returned as soon as each ship landed and founded their first communities. Currently only three status reports are releasable according to the government, and here they are.

D190-A4 System

1st Planet, Craellia

The planet was hot, almost burning. It was covered in sand and various oases, and with no native wildlife. The planet was rich in metals as we surveyed, including huge veins of gold, emeralds and rich diamonds. Our scientific advisor also notified us that the planet’s sandstorms and heat waves would make settlement difficult but we did not mind. In the heat we built our colony and named it Hot Gate. Mission Success.

2nd Planet, Unara

The supply pods were scattered as we dropped, and our own pods were also scattered completely. The winds were so strong and the ice sheets so thick that we couldn’t salvage our maps, charts and supplies and all we got was the meager supplies from the closest pods. The communicator works, thank god, but we estimate that soon it will also break. I hope to Helios we make it.

3rd Planet, Yara

The planet was vibrant and alive. Jungles and oceans cover the planet, along with almost demonic beings that are intelligent beyond our reason and yet so frail...and serving them is a species brute-like in appearance, able to survive several shots from even a pulse gun. It astonished us, and after establishing communications these intelligent beings have allowed us to oversee them in exchange for protection against possible other conquerers. They may serve the empire with much use.

Deritain architect Cikizwa de Mgudla just unveiled competition-winning plans for the new Ukuqina Tower in Vatoria City, Vatoria. The futuristic tower – which will be over 800 feet tall – will have pockets of greenery infused throughout its many levels to provide a healthy interior environment and to help the modern tower blend into its surroundings.

The Ukuqina Tower will feature a digital cultural center, retail, offices and various restaurants, and it was designed to blend into the urban scheme of the neighborhood. The concept revolves around vertical interconnected spaces, which function as individual neighborhoods at each level. Along with office space, restaurants, and social spaces, green mini parks will be planted in virtually every level so that office workers, visitors, and guests will be able to enjoy plant life at any location in the building.

Starting at the ground floor, an open-air, ribbon-shaped walkway will wind around the building’s first three floors. Following the shape of the walkway, an abundance of greenery will create an enjoyable natural trail that leads to the entrance of the building. On the interior, a large open atrium with floor-to-ceiling glass walls will be flooded with natural light, providing an active, healthy atmosphere.

According to the architect, the open spaces, greenery and natural light will help integrate the building into the cityscape: “The tower is no longer an interruption of urbanity, a parenthesis in the city; it becomes an extension of it. This quest for openness first passes through the base of the towers and their lower floors, considered as public spaces because connected to the neighborhood and the city.”
