Read Jo's post again. He didn't say that the Black Hawks participated in the Iron Confederacy op, he said that several TBH members did. TBH doesn't work with defenders, but that doesn't stop our members from participating as a mercenary in fash bashes. There was a few TBH members (myself included, though I was representing Mariner Trench ^-^) who attended a few jumps on The Iron Confederacy as a mercenary and a few more who are piled into the region as a mercenary.

Dear Reader (again),

Everyone knows that The Black Hawks are terrible, no-good, very bad people. Hopefully, everyone also knows that one of our worst crimes across our entire history is our willingness to consider GCR's, from TSP to TP, an enemy we can actually act against. Truly, it's the greatest of all evil to dare consider a GCR assailable, isn't it?

Going All The Way

So there I was, minding my own business, browsing the NSGP discord server. As I was scrolling through meaningless conversation, I saw something. A fenda! Those dang scoundrels! What did he have to say? Well, I can't find the exact quote anymore but they we're like "oh raiders don't go more than 10 minutes" or something like that. WHAT A BUNCH OF BALONEY BOLOGNA!

So, anyway, I couldn't have this, so I went and planned a raid for the whole update.

So here is where the fun comes in. I've never done anything beyond single team raids. Also, I haven't triggered a raid in like, a bit. Didn't expect to do great. Then, I'm sitting here getting ready, my teams obviously prepped their puppets last second and set off some defender alarms. They're all like, "Woah! That's a lot of puppets!" And then all the Wardens get together with some of their other people, and they put together a team of like 10 fendas. I'm sitting here with 5 raiders, plus myself. 1 of those guys was like, pretty new and stuff. I'm like, well crap. But we go ahead and do the raid, despite having our numbers doubled.

AND GUESS WHAT! WE DIDN'T LET NOTHING STOP US!
I took those fendas for a ride, whole hour long, quick switches, tight triggers, the whole schebang.

In the end, despite being outnumbered by 100%, we came out on top. That's right ladies and gentlemen, we scored ourselves 34 regions. Better than the 22 fends for sure. It's great to be back. See you next time fendas

I only caught the tail end of that era before, you know, everyone got nuked, but I personally recall the extent of TBH criticism more being that the degree to which tag-obsessiveness ran was ridiculous, burned people out, and in retrospect, led to things *really* being pushed too far in the name of "more tags!!!" Maybe you're making up a nonexistent counterpoint to Cora's insistence that tags were god, or mistakenly attributing LWU's long-running disdain of tags to us?

I mean, you could also go dig up more than a few *old* criticisms of ...many things, but TBR included... from my baby alt-fenda days in TEK, but somehow I doubt that you've got quite that base of detail/reference to draw from.

The Worst Flag Contest

Greetings, welcome, salutations, all that jazz!

Flag contests are not a new concept to NationStates. Many regions have held public flag contests to solicit new designs, often to stunning results. However, what we'd like to bring to you is a...little different. The Black Hawks would like to invite the public at large to join its own members in the (not so) one, the (not so) only, worst flag contest! Yeah, yeah, Osiris did it it like two years ago, but that's like, a decade in NS time.

The rules and process are simple:

1. Anyone, we don't really care if they even play NS anymore, may submit a flag
2. To be a valid TBH flag entry, the flag must either contain:
   a) At least 3/4 elements of a standard TBH flag, or
   b) 2/4 elements and be submitted with the worst joke you know.
   The 4 elements are: something vaguely globe-like, some sort of weapon, something bird-like, and the classic side-bars
3. Submissions are to be posted right here, in this thread
4. The submission period will close at midnight US Central time on Sunday, September 14th. If you squeak in a little bit late, I'll pretend this says "Pacific"
5. Any entries featuring offensive, derogatory, or otherwise disgusting imagery are subject to disqualification
6. There are no limits on submissions; just spoiler large images or large numbers of images to avoid a warning for picspam!
7. Acceptable art forms include but are not limited to: MSPaint, clip art, shitty photoshop, sidewalk chalk, amateur photography, food art, crochet, SFW furry art, oil paints, colored pencil, crayon, making everything in the normal TBH flag just a little off center, mixed media, pottery, and spray paint. Your imagination is the limit!!

Following the submission period, three winners will be selected. A poll will be made somewhere or other for "fan favorite," and a panel of judges will select a "worst worst" winner and a "best worst" winner. If that's not clear, the "worst worst" award is about being just plain offensive to the eyes and any sense of design, while "best worst" will be the terrible flag that lowkey has a sense of charm and hidden beauty. Judging will be done when it's done.

Who's judging? Well, we want this to be balanced a bit, so the judges are:

• Ever-Wandering Souls - A member of TBH's Council of Hawks, and long-time head of most all of our visuals, forum skins, etc etc. Once designed a flag and WFE and flew on TEP for a bit! Also, he's me
• Church of Satan - He's our token defender, he's been making flags for like 6 years, his flags have graced GCR's
• Atagait - Retired, more or less. Alignment: fun. Describes himself as "a misanthrope with DPD." Graphic design boss who made or remade like half of TBH's important flags

And what, you ask, does the winner get? Well, all three winners will see their design used on at least one tag run, and maybe more. Really, any entry that any Hawk likes risks getting saved and used later. Ones that enough Hawks like might get added to our giant dispatch-o-flags. Oh, and you get bragging rights. And, last but not least,you get to make all the judges' eyes bleed, and probably some audience's eyes too. Good enough?
